Warrior Penelope stuff cause I've been listening to too many EPIC genderbent covers, and I wanted to give my take on it (also cuz I kinda want to draw it one day)

- Ares as Penelope's patron, absolutely! But Ares didn't have a huge cult in Sparta, although he wasn't hated. So my lore take version thing is that ATHENA wanted to be Penelope's patron (she had already an eye on Ody kinda) but Ares saw his chance, got to it first and became attached to Penelope without wanting to admit it, also because she saw the good and useful in him. Athena still watches over Penelope (especially after her and Ares platonically break up, which she finds really stupid) and is the one who does her best to protect Ithaca while she's gone. She's by Ody's side while he misses his wife and is mostly the reason why the Suitors hadn't taken over yet.

- To get Ares to realize his mistake, Athena tricks him into helping Telemachus defeat Antinous in Little Wolf because free bloodshed, only to end up sensitized by Telemachus because holy shit, my friend's son is here almost dying to this ASSHOLE who thinks he's so much stronger than MY friend the queen and even me like who tf does he think he is. Athena makes Ares fucking rational for once. And maybe even Aphrodite, as well, gets some damn sense in his mind like "they love each other like you and I and my girl is doing her best to get home you're going to apologize rn"

- ctimene holds a claymore double her height with no problems

- penelope is more "cold ruthless" than Odysseus, in a way that she's still poised (until the end or when she's really brought to her knees which is disturbing) while doing merciless stuff. She's emotionless a lot more (just on the surface)

- Ares was the one to give Penelope the idea of going to war instead of Odysseus, for obvious reasons. And Pen is really a mastermind among the Greeks ofc

- Ares and Pen fought in their My Goodbye version because she "held back her power while her friends got devoured" "she didn't even fight Polyphemus, didn't even TRY to kill him" "hid behind her wits to get things done". Because when fighting Polyphemus, she knew that if she tried to kill Polyphemus while he was asleep, they'd be stuck in that cave forever (like in the real Odyssey). And knew that fighting while her friends got killed would slow them down and probably get more people dead. And when they ran away, she didn't go back to kill the Cyclops even if she could've because of yes, mercy, but also because she would've awakened all the other Cyclops and sailing away was faster, better. Ares deemed this cowardice. Crazy thing, since one of the most important things to him is courage.

- Ares overstimates Penelope's power. Like, yes, she's exceptional, but still HUMAN. With her limits. He hasn't dealt with a human personally in years so he doesn't understand this, so his expectations are ridiculously high, which ends up breaking Penelope.

- During 600 strike, Penelope can actually breathe underwater and not hold her breath for such a long time and be fine because she's half naiad (yes, they are fresh water nymphs but still). Also this may make her even stronger around water (to a certain degree, she's still very mortal)

- calypso is pansexual

i'm watching mlaatr, still not done, i think i got like 10 more eps (and if i'm being transparent i skipped around eps... i just wanted to see vega...). And i'm absolutely loving the show!!!! i love these characters a lot, didn't like Shelden at first i'm going to be honest, #1 Shelden hater for a bit there. but he chilled out in season two and i started to ship breldon with that too so now i just love him so much.

Jenny: - I am under the belief that she is transgender. Jenny was made genderless, so her deciding to be a girl was strictly her choice and i believe that makes her trans. (She's also a lesbian) - she did grow a bit, im not gonna explain how idc really i just liked her being a taller lady :-) - she has A LOT of different cute outfits and hair styles, honestly too much to draw. she never transforms back into her base show outfit when crime fighting, she just fights in her cute summer dress she don't care. - her and vega are dating grrgrgrrrr - when vega is in rule she makes it so there is complete free access between earth and cluster prime for citizens in both places. - I say that cause i think when jenny is older she moves in with vega, technically living in cluster prime but visits earth like everyday. And brad/shelby/tucker/wakeman visit cluster prime - Jenny also hangs out with the nicktoons unite gang, but i deffo feel like its just that secondary friend group that you don't talk to with for months. when you talk again its the same goofiness as before - i think danny calls for her help when he needs it (also manny) Tuck: - he is still a little shit but we love him - adhd boy - questioning cis (he/him) - he got into robotics/stem and builds little silly things - with that, he gets help from Shelby - pretty much just a silly teen, he's on the internet a lot and has "cringe" interests - but idk he's having fun and being silly and finding himself (those interests is stuff like sonic and among us) Shelden(Shelby) - honestly kinda nervous about ppl thoughts on my Shelden, idk it makes so much sense in my brain - hits you with the transfem beam (she/they) Pansexual (she just wants anyone type of vibe) - I think when jenny is visiting vega often that leaves Shelby and Brad hanging out alone a lot. which they don't mind honestly, they are actually good friends! - but during that they just get closer and start catching feelings. Vega: - Lesbian cis (she/her) - That ending of her just ruling cluster prime was just so crazy to me cause like, aint she like 16? - i think she has a lot of stressed nights and fearing she's not doing the right thing for her people, and jenny tries to help as much she can - that is why jenny visits so much, she wants to help her. - very much got those nights were she accidently falls asleep at her desk, jenny finding her and giving her a blanket and a kiss goodnight - it's not like she's unhappy, she is actually very very passionate about her work and wants to NOT be like her mom - and yeah she deffo goes to robo therapy for the stuff with her mom. - i think it's a conflict where vega is scared her mom is gonna come back and jenny has to reassure her that if she does they'll get rid of her for good.

To me, Lucifer being pan is too fanservicey and caters to the Radioapple people. Even though that is partially queerbaiting because it's confirmed he only loves Lilith and will only end up with her. Stanley and Xenos relationship makes me want to drop to my knees and wail. So so beautiful. Xenos obviously a bad person but I love how they show his soft side for Stanley the way he looks at him when he’s a statue when he gives him little fake cigarettes it’s so elegant. Drst writes characters who are considered bad people to have soft sides like Xeno and also make the protagonists people who aren’t really saints at all, making them feel more human. Stanley is clearly in love with Xeno which is why he gets so damn peeved when he gets kidnapped and there’s no hetero explanation for the scene where Stanley gets revived again. And I love how they made Stanley the most masculine man who literally served in the military gay and wear makeup. Literally. Hes not afraid to wear lipstick like YES I ADORE IT. Again he SERVED IN THE MILITARY he has like a 10 pack and is masculine as hell and he’s still such a well written homosexual character who’s comfortable in his sexuality and gender. Epitome of masculinity fr fr.

Francois is enby, using they/them pronouns. I love how Ryusui says gender sex race nothing matters when it comes to sheer talent, which is why the writers don’t tell much too about them. They’re just pure talent and live to serve and even though they’re a butler they’re still not robotic and stuff, same with Senku- he’s not that into romance but he’s still definitely not nonchalant at all.

Ryusui , the greediest man in the world. He desires everyONE and everyTHING. My pansexual probably polyamorous KING. He don’t care abt ur gender or whatever he wants YOU!!

Gen Asagiri, this one.. he’s definitely queer... im not saying it just because he’s the most feminine out of all the men (though I LOVE how again they made a very feminine male character and made him so well written) , but because of the clear admiration he has towards Senku. You could say it’s not romantic that’s fine - QPR sengen still peak. In my opinion he’s either gay or bisexual. He barely also shows interest in women, when he does it’s clearly for keeping up his facade. Again, he’s genuinely mesmerized by Senku and what he does. I love sengen but if we’re talking canon, they’re definitely one sided. The way I see it, no way Gen doesn’t feel anything for Senku. Also cmon.. just look at the guy.. listen to his voice… cmon. Cmon. Cmon. Cmo-

Well this is an excellent question, thank you! And thank you very much for the compliment on my hcs ❤️ This is great timing because I have been wanting to do a post talking about how Gale approaches physical attractiveness, and what it means to him in a relationship. You’ve given me the perfect springboard for that!

So, before I talk about the Tav in your scenario and how I think Gale would react to him having a negative self-image, I want to delve into some background on Gale.

First things first—Gale is a wizard, and as a wizard, he has had many experiences changing his physical form. He’s versed in invisibility spells, size-changing spells, appearance-changing spells/illusions, becoming incorporeal, turning to mist, etc, etc. You’d have to assume, then, that being able to change physical form so easily would make Gale realize that being considered ‘physically beautiful’ is not something of great importance.

Second, the world of Faerun is inhabited by incredibly varied and diverse physical beings: elves, dwarves, dragonborn, tieflings, githyanki, half-orcs, etc, etc. Imagine not only growing up and seeing so many different faces every day, but also being a scholar like Gale, one who is always eager to learn about different cultures. Gale’s perception of physical beauty is naturally wider and more varied as a result of being immersed in such an environment—and, since Gale is canonically pansexual, he has no preferences in regards to gender, either.

All this just to say: this is a man who, for his entire life, has had very little reason to care about physical appearances at all.

….and then we come to his relationship with Mystra.

Gale and the Goddess who presents herself as an ‘exceptional physical beauty.’ One that many would consider the pinnacle of physical perfection: eternally young, beautiful, flawless.

I’ve seen so many comments about how it doesn’t make sense for Gale to fall for anyone who isn’t ‘beautiful’ after he’s been with a Goddess. But think about it—what did that get him? What did his love of Mystra and her perfect physical beauty get him?

Abandonment. Heartbreak. Depression. And the realization that there was no sympathy or compassion to be found in the depths of that Goddess’s eyes. No actual love or warmth in her at all. Just a beautiful exterior; a cold, empty shell.

So given all of that: is it any wonder that Gale doesn’t give any weight to physical attractiveness when he falls for Tav? And instead only focuses on Tav’s goodness, kindness, and warmth?

Because Gale just wants to love, and to be loved. He truly only cares about Tav’s heart, Tav’s soul, and most importantly, about the loving bond that they share together.

Now, I do want to clarify—Gale does still recognize and appreciate the physical aspects of his beloved. Very much so, obviously, with his practiced tongue, his appreciation for Tav’s glistening muscles, and his (definitely thirsty) comment on Illithid Tav’s ‘moist tentacles.’

But all that’s a bonus in his eyes. That’s the result of his love for Tav; it’s not what made him fall in love with Tav to begin with.

Which is why it doesn’t matter what Tav looks like. In any form. Gale doesn’t care about the wrapping. It’s the gift inside that he truly treasures.

I think that, if Tav gained weight as stated in your scenario, be it a little or a lot, and started complaining/making negative comments about himself…

Gale would, at first, be completely oblivious.

Not because he’s an inattentive husband, or because he’s not paying attention to his beloved—to be clear, he’s the most doting husband, and he hangs off of Tav’s every word—but because he loves Tav so much and adores him so deeply that he simply cannot fathom it. He cannot fathom that Tav’s comments of “I don’t fit into this anymore…” or “I don’t look like I used to…” are anything more than observations on living a lovely, comfortable, domestic life together.

But when Gale does finally realize what’s happening, and what Tav means…for a moment, he would be stunned. Because how Tav could think he was anything less than utter perfection would be mind-boggling to Gale.

He would compose himself quickly. Take Tav’s hands in his. Raise them to his lips, and between kisses say, “Forgive me, my love. Your husband has been remiss. It’s pride month and I myself am almost a decade older (and have realized I’m queer myself in the interim) so here is a revisited and revised Queer Bats Headcanon PostTM! As usual, arranged in age order:

Alfred: Has never particularly cared to label himself, but is queer in a very English Shakespearean actor way. (I'm not saying he and Sir Ian McKellen got hot and heavy back in the day but I'm not not saying it.)

Bruce: Brucie Wayne is bi-curious, in the sense that he will absolutely flirt with and even make out with a guy but primarily is into women. Bruce/Batman is just bi. Would probably also be agender if he cared enough to think about it but it has genuinely never occurred to him.

Kate: Canonically a lesbian and we love that for her. So much. 10/10 no notes.

Barbara: Bisexual demi or grey-romantic. Doesn't really have a preference gender-wise for partners, she just likes competence.

Dick: Bi and very, very, very demisexual. The originator of Drag for Justice, which did also continue in the form of "Drag on dates with Kori sometimes".

Cass: Queer. Will pick the lesbian flag out of the lineup for pride events, but also is very comfortable with the fluidity of her own attraction. She likes who she likes and it is what it is, she doesn't see the point in clinging to rigid categories too much. The most enthusiastic heir to the tradition of Drag for Justice

Jason: Asexual Biromantic. My thoughts here haven't changed, he just wants to dramatically date someone and sweep them off their feet and be swept off his own feet in return.

Steph: Like, half the Bats are some flavor of Bi and Steph is no exception. She/They.

Tim: Our canonical disaster bi! A preference for men but it is just that, a preference. Voted Most Likely To Accidentally Join A Polycule Without Realizing.

Duke: Pansexual and nonbinary, uses they/he pronouns. Still feeling out the details of his identity (as most teenagers are).

Damian: Comfortably hypothetically bi but also currently mostly uninterested, he has other priorities. Sometime in the very near future attraction is going to hit him like a freight train and he is going to be so mad about it.

mabel - okay lets get her out of the way. this girl is queer as fuck. she may not realize it yet, but in her teenage years i know she’s experimented with every single label and microlabel in existence. she’d try out hundreds of neopronouns. she realizes her obsession with boys as a kid was a result of comphet. i don’t have a specific label for her because i think in the end she’d discover she can’t make herself identify with any one label. because she’s just mabel! unlabeled and proud.

dipper - do i even have to say it… he’s trans. i think every queer person in this fandom headcanons him to be trans. moving on

stanley - he’s kinda unlabeled too, but for a reason opposite to mabel’s. ladies, gentlemen, doesn’t matter to him! i think its fair to assume he grew up believing that being gay was wrong, it was the 60s and 70s and his dad’s a piece of shit, but as he traveled the country and met so many different people and then witnessed the times changing around him… he’d just. grow into his attraction for men. like, yeah i like men? so what? he doesn’t care for labels. “bisexual, mabel? pansexual? quit making up words!”

stanford - hehehheee okay this is my favorite. i’ve thought about his sexuality a lot. he’s definitely gay to me, and i don’t have much reasoning for that other than like… my heart is telling me that’s the right answer. but he’s also definitely on the aroace spectrum. i personally think he’s demi or grayromantic, he feels romantic attraction VERY rarely and its part of the reason why he felt so helpless in the dating department as a teenager, and also why as an adult later on he tells fiddleford he doesn’t understand romance. he’s hardly ever experienced it! and he wouldn’t really KNOW he identifies with those labels until he’s back in his dimension and mabel is in her obsessed-with-queer-microlabels phase. he hears mabel say “demiromantic” and, being the nerd he is, immediately wants to know what this new word means and why he’s never heard of it before. so mabel rolls a big-ass whiteboard in and starts Mabel’s Guide to the Aromantic Spectrum! ford learns something about himself that day.

fiddleford - HE’S GAY. he’s gay. he’s so gay. i know he canonically has a wife but he literally leaves emma may to work on this mysterious project with his best and only MALE friend from college like… BE so fr. he made ford TWO christmas gifts and forgot to get anything for his wife!! i imagine his marriage to emma may was more of a way for him to deny his sexuality and live what he believes to be a “normal” life. and that obviously doesnt excuse the neglect to his family (because what the fuck fiddleford) but its how i personally make sense of his behavior.

bill cipher - bill transcends human comprehension of gender and sexuality. bill is just bill. but in human terms he’s a lover of all genders. as long as he can manipulate them, they’re fair game! (sorry ford)

wendy - okayyy yesss i know i used the comphet excuse once with mabel but i’m using it again god dammit. with the way wendy talks about her past boyfriends and how we see her be so vaguely invested in her relationship with robbie, it makes me think she’s either a lesbian or somewhere on the aromantic spectrum. she’s just not super interested! but she gives guys chances because why the hell not and is never super into any of it, eventually they break up, and she moves on with her life. i imagine sometime after high school is when she reflects on that and thinks… huh. was i ever attracted to men at all?

soos - saving the most anticlimactic for last… soos is straight to me. but he’s an ENTHUSIASTIC ally :)

David Shaw Headcannons

David’s canonically bi/ pansexual and had a crush on Asher when he was younger

Darlin and David had a sibling bond and would spend together by themselves at pack meetings or the solstices

David has selective people that he lets touch him in a friendly way

David has pulled Darlin out of fights and always lectured them afterward

David has cologne that smells like the forest, anything that smells like rainwater, trees, or the forest he has a cologne of it

David had an unassigned assigned table at his school for the main 4 pack no matter what grade Darlin was in he’d always make sure that they sat with him if they were alone

David favors Angel's smile over everything he loves everything about them, but their smile is his favorite

David visits Gabe’s grave and talks about Angel often and informs him on things going on in his life(Gabe was the first person he told about his thoughts on marrying angel)

David can’t sleep without Angel next to him, and yes, he will be able to sense when they’re getting out of bed or moving

David got into a few fights growing up whenever someone was bullying Milo for his height

When David was younger, he didn’t talk. Whenever somebody needed comfort he’d be more of a listener

David is the type to hold people tightly to ground them if they are ever having a panic attack

To mildly speculate - I could see Lou being bisexual or even pansexual….but!

The thing most folks don’t take into account is that Lou is a very rare person - a born and raised SoCal bro. He didn’t move there as a teen/twenty something to break into acting, he didn’t move there just to attend USC, he is born and raised in sunny California. If you have never met (American or non-American) in person and really experience someone who has spent that formative time and formed themselves in the ecosystem of California - Southern California specifically for Lou - you just don’t appreciate that they are just Like That. It’s a whole vibe - and honestly? The comments from his friend group on all his SM tells me that 1) there’s a whole pack of SoCal bros 😂 and 2) Lou is at a minimum a really good friend.
