Ok so, my English teacher is letting us watch The Iron Giant in class bc we read Frankenstein (WHAT A BANGER OF A BOOK HOLY FUCK I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME (probably gonna make separate posts about that)), since The Iron Giant is actually pretty largely inspired by Frankenstein. Anyways, regardless of why we're watching it, the Giant's similarities to Frankenstein and Hogarth's similarities to Alfred America M.F. Jones are making me ill. You can see where this is going.

Hetalia Iron Giant au where Alfred and Matthew are living with their single dad, Arthur, in 1950's America. Arthur is working late one night, and leaves the boys alone so obviously they're watching scary movies and eating twinkies. The antenna's acting funky and they go to fix it, but they see something weird over by the power station. After a small bit of debate (Al saying he's going to sneak out and if Mattie doesn't come with, he'll leave him there), they each grab a bb gun and a bike helmet and make their way to the woods. There they find a giant metal monster that starts eating the power station until it gets shocked and stumbles backward into some powerlines, getting stuck and continuously electrocuted. They both start to make a run for it but they look back and see him suffering and feel bad, so they silently agree to run back to save it, and they shut of the power station. The giant faints and the boys go to look at it, it suddenly wakes up and they book it outta there before it can get them, but on the road right outside the power station they see a frantic Arthur driving down the road looking for them, absolutely furious. They try to tell him about the robot and he tells them that he doesn't care what their game of pretend was about. So they go home and the boys know what they saw, but that no one will believe them. The next day after school they go out with a piece of sheet metal and a camera, waiting for it to come. It shows up, they meet it, and Al makes the executive decision to name it Tony. The story unfolds from the bc I don't feel like typing out the whole plot synopsis.

Ivan’s December 25 1991 astrology chart

@mslorelina-blog asked me to explain the astrology charts of the (official) fall of USSR and (official) formation of Russian Federation from my Ivan’s birthday post, so here I go ❤️

DISCLAIMER FIRST:

I’m just an enthusiastic learner of astrology and not an actual astrologer, so don’t be too serious abt this. These are real life charts but since this is for fandom purposes, I’ll be tying them into creative fandom endeavors (whicch means I’ll be talking about Ivan as a fictional character according to the charts).

I AM USING SIDEREAL VEDIC SYSTEM. If you don’t know what’s that, please google it up, but know that I’m not using the typical more common Tropical system. Signs shift a bit in sidereal (for example a Pisces in tropical is Aquarius in sidereal) so if you think the charts look wrong, it’s likely because I’m not using the system you have in mind.

Without further ado:

Sun sign: Sagittarius (Mula nakshatra)

Moon sign: Leo (Magha nakshatra)

Firstly, according to the big 3, the general description goes that Ivan will be aggressive and expansive (Sagittarius is a warring sign), proud and dignified but conservative (Leo), and sensitive and nurturing but emotionally vulnerable and overwhelming (Cancer)

His chart lord and Moon are in Leo Magha (2nd house of family). First and foremost, Ivan is tied to his (blood) family. He is possessive over them and is particularly spoiled by them (spoiler alert: I share this exact placement so I know firsthand about this). This placement means that he has his family wrapped around his little finger, and he is treated as ‘a king of his lair’ at the same time he is constantly babied. Magha nakshatra is ruled by planet Ketu (South Node) and represents ancestors; the natives would feel as if they have duties in upholding family traditions but at the same time they have their ancestors watching over them and blessing them. This is a powerful star of manifestation and royalty as ‘the power you have you’ve already wielded since born’. Magha natives usually have powerful ancestors or ones with interesting stories and karma to pass down for the natives to settle. As much as Magha natives tend to be conservative tho, we also tend to break away from some traditions in order to improve our lineage and ancestral karma.

At the same time, this is his weakest planet (DK; weakest by degree) so perhaps he would feel as if he is ‘cut out of these ancestral links’ some. However, being his chart lord, how he feels about his family and lineage (and personal resources, family is basically one of personal resources anyone could have) are the constantly occurring themes of his life. These are also things that he constantly seeks in his life.

Ivan has Moon conjunct Jupiter in 2nd house. Jupiter here can be bad and good at the same time; as Jupiter is a planet that expands things it comes into contact with, sometimes it expands Ivan’s resources and wealth but it can also increase family drama. Ivan is also highly generous toward his family.

Ivan has Atmakaraka (AK) Venus in Libra Vishakha 4th house. 4th house denotes motherland and/or mother, and him having the strongest planet here means he is very dearly tied to his motherland and his mother (if he had her). Venus in Libra is domicile/right at home, which means the house is strong and sturdy. Being Venus, Ivan likes good things — including beautiful things — in his homeland and is likely to get them also just by attraction, as Venus ultimately pulls you toward the things Venus signifies in the house. Moreover, Vishakha nakshatra is also a particularly ambitious star; the natives are sure to get what they want and will work hard to attain it. Venus in his 4th house also rules his 11th house of achievement and social circle; this means that Ivan befriends people who are like him most often, and his achievements and desires revolve around his motherland. This is quite a placement for a homebody.

Mars here makes Ivan aggressive in attaining those things, and he can also get stalkerish 😄. Mars here is conjunct Mercury which rules 3rd house of neighbors/courage and 12th house of loss or foreign places, so Ivan is sure to extends aggression towards those people as well. Since Mars is conjunct Mercury tho, which is a planet of communication, fun and tact, it’s honestly not all aggressive and he can be sensible.

Ivan’s Sun is Sagittarius in Mula Nakshatra (6th house). 6th house is the house of enemies, obstacles, and also illness/disease. Mula nakshatra is a powerful star that means roots or foundation; natives of this placement destroy or put things to ruin (mainly emotionally; not always physical) to return them to a blank slate for a new growth. With his sun here, which is a natural malefic, Ivan is someone who is sure to beat his enemies — of which he has a lot, because he has North Node (Rahu) conjunct his sun. Rahu works in amplifying to a high degree the significations of the house it sits in and the planet in its vicinity. Rahu in particular makes Ivan also highly ambitious about defeating obstacles, of which he has many, since Rahu basically amplifies both his obstacles and his desire to defeat them. It also happens that much of his obstacles come from his family, due to the fact that the dispositor of his Sun and Rahu is Jupiter in his 2nd house of family. However, lord of his Moon/Leo house is also Sun in his 6th house, which means people who were once enemies can become family. Pretty complicated placement, I would say.

With Rahu in 6th house and South Node (Ketu) in 12th house, Ivan is someone who is worldly and not much spiritual. Ketu represents what you already were bestowed with in your past life and Rahu is your unmet desires in this current life. 12th house indicates spirituality, solitude and detachment, and Ketu here means Ivan doesn’t need any of those things and thus won’t seek them out.

Ivan has Saturn in Capricorn (Shravana nakshatra), 7th house of relationship and business. This makes Ivan conservative in how he approaches relationships, but he is also highly loyal towards his (limited) partners. This makes him tend to only look for those who are his ‘traditional’ partners for business. At the same time, those partners also tend to be loyal towards him.

Also important to note that Ivan’s ascendant is in Cancer, Ashlesha nakshatra, and it is at an especially difficult point called gandanta. Since this is Magha, even though Ivan has changed the system of his nation, he essentially stays the same and still carries the ‘karma of his past life’. An actually logical notion because nations hardly ever change their core even though they’ve donned different clothes, for better or worse. His AK changes from motherland-focused to neighbor-focused, but motherland keeps being an important focus due to the Mars-Mercury combo. Now Ivan’s purpose and main focus of life is genuine self expression (5H) compared to beating enemies (6H), though 5H can also mean child rearing or even childbirth, however that means in relation to him, lol. It also can mean romance 😂 (or perhaps just genuine love for himself, bc the dispositor of Rahu and Sun is in his 1st house of himself?). Ivan now has Saturn in 6H; beating enemies is a slow but sure process, but this time he’s got stability compared to the utter chaos of the previous chart. Enemies might be traditional as well, as in, it’s just the same kind of enemies he’s had before. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he can kind of sleep on them all tho! Funny placement because he gets his relationships from his enemies. Also, with 11H Ketu Ivan willingly isolates himself more from wider social circle and doesn’t care abt it much beyond his neighbors or kins.

Whew! That was pretty long. I have to say that I won’t incorporate all of this into my personal headcanons about Ivan, but I think these are interesting and I noted down some.

Sorry for the late reply I have been researching a lot of topics and got sidetracked.

In my personal opinion I would say that a Saturn darakaraka in Mrigashira would lead to a partner with deer-like features. Long face (specifically oblong), thin limbs, low set eyebrows, small and widely spaced eyes, wide mouth, etc.

I do generally associate mrigashira placements with thin body frames so I don't think the assumption of a gaunt-ish face is too far off. But I personally do not feel that your partner would have a young face based on this description. Mrigashira is ruled by Mars and I personally feel that their appearance would be more Martian because in my research the ruler of the nakshatra the darakaraka is in plays more into the appearance of the spouse than the zodiac sign of the darakaraka. Either way mrigashira, gemini sign, mars ruled nakshatra, saturn darakaraka all points to a thin spouse whether that be because they are genetically predisposed to thinness or they actively have to maintain their body frame through physical exercise.

I will say that I have seen people with mrigashira placements with a dimple/indentation in their chin so that could be a noteable feature to look out for. For example, Sandra Bullock has her Venus in mrigashira in her first house and her sun is in the Saturn-ruled nakshatra Pushya and her dimpled chin is one of her most recognizable features. Maybe your significant other may resemble her.

Ok. Wow a lot to unpack here. I decide to answer these 2 asks together, cause they are kinda of similar?. Also, a complete 360 degrees from a recent ask that dislikes sad ending and wishing FK/JD a happy ending in THK 😬.

You both mentioned loving Only Friends and it's messy storyline. Like both of you, I love how Jojo/Ninew (and our fabulous actors/ actresses) portray them. We all know a Ray/Mew/Ton /Top/Nick etc. in real life (or shades of them!) and I think what makes the story compelling is people can relate to these characters (be it one aspect or more).

And yes, I remember very well how divisive the audience became with OF. I think part of it relates to the expectations of what they want for each character (and well, we can never please everyone!) - some watchers thinks OF was slut-shaming Ton while others got upset because TonNick were not an item. Others were dissatisfied with the way Mew/Ray handled their friendship with Ton. They were also grumbles on how the only reason SandRay + MewTop got together were because the actors are branded CPs.

To me, these viewers forget the characters are actually not very nice people. They are immature adults in their early 20s making terrible choices while navigating friendships & relationships. None of them are sweet angels (including Sand, as much as I love our boy). In fact, I think all of them are hypocritical at some level.

Personally, I think people who were dissatisfied with the particular ending (for a character) falls into 2 categories: They identified/ invested the most with a character in that show and feels personally attack or because they cannot fathom why a character acts the way they did. (Mew forgiving Top but not Ton? - viewers labeled Mew as sanctimonious bastard. Well, I think people forget that Mew never cared Ton was sleeping around before. He only started to care when the latter slept with his boyfriend. And why won't he forgive Top? Yes, he cheated but we all know someone in real-life (or heard from someone) who takes back their cheating partner. Whether or not it's advisable is beside the point. They are just portraying something can happen realistically. Similarly, why is Nick not allowed to dump Ton when they are on different wave length on what define their relationship? But people again interpret it as Nick slut-shaming Ton). And don't get me started on what people say about Ray.

And as for Thai BL (and GL) in general, I'm not going to call myself an expert. However, I get the impression the contents we have now are way better (and varied) then it used to! There is a genre for everyone out there! So, watch what you want - GMMTV tends to stick to light-hearted shows cause they mainly cater for the younger audiences but they are slowly branching out. Also, companies outside of GMMTV are flexing their creativity muscles (some that comes to mind include The Signs - fantasy; Manner of Death - crime/mystery; PitBabe - A/B/O; I feel you linger in the air - melodrama/time travel; the upcoming Goddess Bless You From Death - horror)

In terms of THK - I do not think we will have KantBison & StyleFadel all dying cause it's sold as rom-com (although it will certainly be a huge shock factor if KB and SF both died in a dramatic shootout. But what will I know, the recently finished 4minutes Thai BL had their second leads dying in each other arms).

I'm also not sure if THK is going to be as messy as OF (cause I think in terms of relationships, this will be straightforward - we probably won't have the boys swapping partners, that's for sure!). However, I'm sure we will get the backstory of how the brothers are adopted, their relationship with their adopted mom/handler and older brother (Pepper!!). And perhaps how Kant shifted gear from a criminal to a tattooist.

Whatever the journey will be with THK - I have faith FK and JD will bring their A-game and acting skills to the table. At the very least, we can be assured the soundtracks and cinematography will be on point. I mentioned on a previous ask I like happy endings for my leads, but I certainly won't mind seeing them suffer before that. So, I'm ready to go on a roller coaster journey as we have Kant/Style seducing our assassins while struggling morally to accept they love someone who kills for a living. Or the crushing agony when Fadel/Bison finds out about the betrayal.

I actually went to see the movie again the other day and I spent most of the time coming up with headcanons, especially for Mareach! Keep in mind I’m fairly new to the fandom so some of these might just be for my own entertainment haha

-Probably generic but I just love the thought of Mario showing Peach around Brooklyn and taking her to all his favorite restaurants, arcades, theaters, etc. She would be very curious about his life and wants to know every little detail about him

-^adding onto this, Mario would take her shopping to get her some clothes for whenever she visits the human world (so she’s not walking the streets of Brooklyn in a ball gown and tiara). When it comes to actually paying for the outfits, Peach insists on paying for them herself and gives the cashier some gold coins (and then Mario pays for them with actual money when she’s not looking)

-Spooning except Mario wants to be the big spoon, so he’s just hugging her from behind looking like a lil backpack

-Whenever they start dating he still calls her “Princess” but instead of it being a formality, it turns into a term of endearment.

-Mario would definitely be well aware of his feelings for Peach but he doesn’t make his move (right away at least) cuz y’know, she’s royalty! And according to everyone else, a princess would never go out with him…

-Peach, however, would take a while to realize her feelings for him are romantic. Of course she knows she admires him and thinks he’s cute, but does she really see him like that? Does he feel the same way or are her feelings unrequited? She would have to figure it all out first

-Whenever the whole gang hangs out there is a lot of teasing from Luigi, Toad, and DK (let’s be honest, mostly from DK) Peach just brushes it off but Mario gets hella embarrassed and starts blushing like crazy, sometimes having to hide his face so she can’t see.

-When it comes to gift-giving they do not take it lightly. They go all out to find the perfect gift for each other, doesn’t matter how long it takes! Peach would probably have the toads do intensive research to find out what he likes or what’s meaningful to him, while Mario would go to Luigi for advice to find something simple yet beautiful that he thinks she would like (spoiler; she does!)

I can deff share some of my personal observations mixed with information from KRS books.

Jupiter nak men ime tend to be foreigners or have behaviors that feel adapted from other places, a strong religious background, be into traveling or being expansive in the way they think. The type of guys to know a lot of fun facts from different countries, or in general very knowledgeable and funny. They also have a certain dark nature that hides behind the bubbly and curious persona which only appears when their morals, character, or philosophical view is challenged. Their background is usually good or privileged, meaning that they are educated and well cultured.

I'm not sure if you're talking about Vishakha nakshatra in Libra or Scorpio, but according to KRS book since they are ruled by a male tiger their behavior is quiet, analytical, and overall cat-like. They're often underestimated due to how patient they can before pouncing towards their target/goal/interest. They are not the types to be all in people's faces, not for lacking in capacity, but preference of not even getting their nails dirty. They'll watch from afar and move intensely out of passion or retaliation, etc.

If you have Aries energy, then it would be likely to attract Libras (Vishakha portion) as potential suitors, but we're commonly surrounded by our same/opposite moon sign, 3th house sign (childhood friends, school or near vicinity), 11th house sign (online, social network, social media, groups/communities, fundraisers, etc) AK, and DK individuals.

Aside from that, Cancer men are just *ominous music playing in the background* and being with Aquarius or Pisces in PBP feels like you're in an elevator that only has 3 stops in between major extremes. A lot to say about Jupiter nak men tbh.

Sometimes I wonder what drives Nightmare forward. Is it simple inertia? This answer feels wrong.

Some people might answer "negativity", I myself answered it at first. Spreading negativity. But how does spreading negativity feeds back to him? When we eat, it's not simply eating that drives us, it is because we want food, because it tastes good, or at least tasted this way once.

But Nightmare cannot feel positive emotions. He cannot feel joy from becoming bigger. There is no positive reinforcement that feeds a behaviour's continuity. But there is behaviour continuity.

We also eat food because we don't want to have a stomach ache.

So, my point is; what if Nightmare's constant search for spreading negativity is not due to some sadistic delight, but because it hurts him to not do so?

In that line of thought, what is the difference between absence of negativity (apathy) and the opposite of it(positivity), for his body's workings?

I mean, he tries to kill all positivity and shit constantly. Positivity can't be just hunger — hunger would be absence of food. If we put Nightmare in a world with no negativity, he'd starve and die. He'd try to make food, probably, but you can't really tip the scale if there is no scale.

In this scenario, it'd be fair to say that positivity is the material from which negativity is made. It'd be rather ironic, to say that Nightmare consumes positivity — but it'd be true. And it makes sense, even without this lengthy explanation.

But this assumes that negativity and positivity need each other to coexist. That you cannot have life without one or the other. It assumes that there is a scale in first place, and it ends up in a rather predictable place.

But Nightmare is a being that cannot feel positivity, and he exist, and he lives.

In a world where Nightmare exists as he does, you can have a world of pure negativity/positivity.

And that falls exactly in the same place as before, but more generalizing. What motivates these individuals, that can only have one side of the spectrum?

I kinda dk how to keep on from here. But I want to. But that'd mean doing a shitton of thinking, to categorize feelings and try to make them fit a binary system.

Alas, I think Nightmare's motivated by pain. He will never be satisfied, but he seeks for these small places of reprieve from what makes him himself, and that is what defines him as him.

CG Man HD Remastered Edition

Season 3 Featured on: Inspector Gunner 2 With Critic

That's right - while I was digging through the Nostalgia Critic takeover of Season 3 to cover Fragile Snowman (Remastered), I was reminded of yet another of its fantastic remasters. And while the former rip is mostly associated with the very beginnings of the channel, ones that were oft quite simple in concept yet still unpredictable in contents, the original version of CG Man HD Remastered Edition is in the far opposite camp: as part of the Season 1 finale.

And like, look, it's not that I INTENTIONALLY cover so many rips from around the time of Season 1 ending in particular. Really, it's just a natural consequence of the event having some of the channel's most memorable rips, as if everyone was firing on all cylinders to leave a mark on the channel before its (supposed) end. Memey Hell, Planet Wisp Mashup Medley, File Select Fusion Collab, Everyday Goodbyes (SiIvaGunner Band Cover), Stone Halation, and of course - Epic Flintstones - all had this underlying tinge of bittersweetness to them, as if to encourage us to smile despite the very real possibility that the channel would never return, never be truly recaptured. And as a remix of the late-90s Nickelodeon kids' childhood anthem, CG Man HD Remastered Edition falls right under that same umbrella.

I've covered a few rips of Donkey Kong 64 on here, of course, with Friday Night Minecartin' and DK Rap God, yet the latter rip and its insane sentence mixing of the DK Rap was only made possible through the influence of DK64's most famous rip on the channel - The Coconut Gun Rap. Made early in the channel's life by the ever-talented Harmony Friends, its classic YTP sentence mixing in a direction few would expect, focusing on Donkey Kong's hit weapon the Coconut Gun. The rip is an actual masterpiece that I'm well overdue to cover on here, yet the most brilliant part of it is that its able to referenced in its entirety through nothing but a two-second soundbyte - the Coconut Gun lyric itself! Ever since its release, the Coconut Gun soundbyte has appeared in numerous rips, including the aforementioned File Select Fusion Collab, but few rips feel as much like a whollistic tribute to it as the one in focus today.

Indeed, by being based on Ocean Man from Ween, more well known as the credits theme to The SpongeBob Movie, there's an inherent bittersweetness attached to the song, something I imagine is only enhanced by the nostalgia-factor for those who grew up with the movie (sorry, spongeheads). Yet, those feelings ARE enhanced by the Coconut Gun cover itself, as CG Man HD Remastered Edition and its non-remastered counterpart is an all-new sentence-mixed cover of the song, again in the same vein as DK Rap God. To my knowledge, this was one of the first time that a rip utilized sentence mixing the DK Rap *after* the debut of The Coconut Gun Rap, and it sort of ends up feeling like a full-circle moment as a result? I mean, sure, it is still edited to be spouting obscenities and insults, but it would almost feel out of character if it wasn't - that is to clarify, out of character for a sentence-mixing shitpost.

Because that was part of the magic of the Season 1 finale, the magic of The Reboot, and really the magic of SiIvaGunner's lore in general. It made a lot of us genuinely care and become attached to jokes, mere tools to be used by rippers for shitposts. Because the team's just had such a good track record of paying tribute to and building atop a joke's prior established history, keeping them "in character" as it were, to where it did actually end up feeling bittersweet to see them all go in the Season 1 finale. File Select Fusion Collab captures that essence more whollistically, but for The Coconut Gun Rap in particular as a meme, I could not think of a more befitting sendoff than CG Man HD Remastered Edition.
