The Cook and The Teacher!
Let's pretend The Bear and Abbot Elementary are in the same city.
Another cute interaction between Carmen (Carmy) Berzatto x Abbot Teacher Femreader! Sunshinereader!
You sat at the table, doing your best to appear interested as your date droned on about his latest work achievements. Something about managing accounts, sealing big deals, and being “essential” to the success of his company. You’d lost track of the details five minutes in, your polite smile starting to feel like a workout for your face.
“…but you wouldn’t get that,” he said, waving his hand dismissively, like you were a child. “Teaching kids and all. It’s like... coloring books and snack time, right?”
Your smile faltered, and you tightened your grip on the stem of your wine glass, fighting the urge to roll your eyes. “Not quite. It’s actually pretty challenging—teaching is about shaping young minds, not just... crayons.”
“Sure, sure,” he said, nodding like he wasn’t really listening. “But you have to admit, it’s not exactly high stakes.” He leaned back in his chair, a smug grin stretching across his face. “I mean, no offense.”
“None taken,” you replied tightly, though the bile creeping up your neck said otherwise. You took a slow sip of your wine, hoping the glass might serve as a buffer between his words and your patience. Spoiler: it wasn’t working.
Inwardly, you cursed yourself for agreeing to this. What had Ava said when she pitched the idea? “Girl, you’re way too cute to be single and wasting away in that apartment of yours. You need to get out there. Shake things up. And this guy? Total catch—tall, successful, and probably rich. You’re welcome.”
At the time, it had seemed like a good idea. Ava’s relentless confidence had rubbed off on you, and the idea of putting yourself out there sounded... productive, if not promising. After all, your secret crush on your cute neighbor wasn’t going anywhere.
Carmy.
You couldn’t help but think about him as Ben prattled on about his “huge network.” Carmy was quiet, focused, and sweet in a way you didn’t think he realized. But he was also impossible to read. Sure, you’d had a few conversations here and there, shared a laugh or two, but he’d never made a move. You hadn’t either—paralyzed by the thought of misinterpreting things and embarrassing yourself.
Which is how you’d ended up here, with Ben. Wonderful, condescending Ben, who clearly thought your life’s work was a joke.
“And this place,” Ben said, gesturing around the restaurant with a smug grin. “Pretty great, right? Super exclusive. I know a guy who knows the chef here. Heard he’s like, a genius or something. Figured we’d go all out.”
You glanced around the dimly lit space, suddenly more aware of the upscale decor—the polished wood tables, the soft amber glow of the overhead lights, and the quiet hum of conversation that seemed to fill the air like music. It was... fancier than you’d expected.
The Bear.
You’d heard of it, of course—who hadn’t? It was one of those places people raved about, where getting a reservation was an accomplishment in itself. The kind of place where you know the food would be incredible, but the bill would make you question your life choices. Nice, but you were pretty sure you could only afford, like, a cup of water here.
Ben leaned in closer, grinning smugly. “This chef guy? Supposedly some kind of prodigy. I don’t know the details, but people say he’s a big deal. Good thing I’ve got connections, huh?”
“Mhm,” you hummed, noncommittal, as you glanced toward the bustling kitchen. A wave of heat and light spilled out from behind the pass, where you could just make out the shadowed figures of chefs moving in synchronized chaos.
As you sipped from your wine glass, trying to find something redeemable about Ben’s endless self-promotion, you wondered if maybe Ava had oversold this whole “dating adventure” thing.
Carmy spotted you the second you walked in.
He’d been at the pass, focused on plating an intricate dish—a delicate arrangement of seared scallops and edible flowers—when his gaze drifted toward the dining room. His hands paused mid-motion, a faint crease forming between his brows as he recognized you.
You were hard to miss, sitting near the window in a corner booth, your posture poised but just slightly tense. Dressed in something a little sleeker than usual, you looked... different. Not in a bad way—never in a bad way— Not that you ever looked anything less than beautiful, but tonight, something about you seemed… striking, enough that he found himself staring longer than he should’ve.
His eyes flicked to the guy sitting across from you. The guy who was laughing too loud, leaning back in his chair like he owned the place, gesturing with wild hands as he talked. You, on the other hand, wore a polite smile that didn’t quite light up the room as it usually did.
Carmy’s jaw tightened. He wasn’t sure why the sight of you with someone else tugged at his chest the way it did, but it lingered, heavy and unwelcome.
It’s none of your business, he told himself, forcing his focus back to the dish in front of him. You weren’t his to worry about.
You weren’t his at all.
Still, his gaze flicked back toward your table, almost involuntarily, catching the way your date seemed oblivious to your discomfort. Carmy’s stomach twisted at the thought. He didn’t know what he expected—maybe for the guy to notice the way you played with your napkin or to tone down his boisterous tone—but it wasn’t this.
“Chef?” Sydney’s voice broke his focus, sharp but professional.
“Yeah,” he muttered, snapping back to reality. His eyes returned to the plate in front of him, the arrangement now slightly skewed from his distraction. He adjusted it quickly, his movements precise but tighter than usual. “Thanks, Chef.”
As Sydney moved on, Carmy risked one last glance at you. The corner booth, the dim lighting, the guy who couldn’t seem to shut up—it all felt wrong. But he pushed it down, buried it under the quiet rhythm of the kitchen, telling himself it wasn’t his place to care.
And yet, he did.
He cared enough to, like some kind of creep, step out of the kitchen and hover near the hallway that led to the restrooms. It wasn’t a plan—not really. He told himself he just needed a breather, a moment to clear his head and shake off the knot in his chest. But he wasn’t fooling anyone, least of all himself.
The low hum of the restaurant buzzed in his ears as he leaned against the wall, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. He didn’t even know what he’d say if you saw him. Maybe he’d play it off, and act like he just happened to be there. But then, what were the odds you’d even notice him? You were here with someone else, after all.
It was ridiculous, he knew that—irrational even— he should go back, really what the fuck was he thinking--
But the sound of heels clicking softly against the floor pulled him from his spiralling thoughts. His breath hitched as you turned the corner, and your expression turned to one of shock when you spotted him.
“Carmy?” you said, stopping mid-step. Your voice carried a note of surprise, but there was something else there too—curiosity, maybe, or even relief at seeing a familiar face in such an unfamiliar situation.
“Hey,” he said, standing a little straighter, as if he hadn’t just been loitering near the hallway like a guilty teenager. He cleared his throat, trying to play it cool. “Didn’t think I’d see you here.”
You blinked, your eyes flicking over his clothes—the crisp white uniform. The realization dawned on you, and your brows lifted in surprise.
“You work here?”
“Yeah,” he said, shifting his weight slightly. “I, uh... I own it.”
Your eyes widened, and you couldn’t help the soft laugh that escaped you. “You own it?”
“Yeah,” he said again, a bit softer this time. His lips twitched into a faint, almost sheepish smile. “I started it a while back. Kind of… a long story.”
You took a moment to process this revelation, glancing around the restaurant as if seeing it in a new light. The warm lighting, the carefully plated dishes you’d glimpsed on their way to other tables—it all made sense now. Of course, this was Carmy’s place. It was thoughtful, deliberate, but somehow unpretentious.
“Wow,” you said, meeting his gaze again. “That’s... impressive.”
Carmy shrugged, his hands slipping into his pockets. “It’s just work. Nothing fancy.”
“Nothing fancy?” you repeated, a small laugh escaping as you gestured toward the elegant decor. “Carmy, this place is gorgeous. You’re way too modest.”
"Thanks," His lips twitched into a faint smile, but his eyes lingered on you, searching before he added, “You didn’t look like you were having a great time out there.”
You blinked at the sudden change in topic, your surprise melting into something closer to embarrassment.
“Oh,” you said, glancing toward the dining room before meeting his gaze again. “Yeah, it’s... it’s a date.”
Carmy’s jaw tightened imperceptibly, though his expression didn’t waver.
“Figured,” he muttered, his voice steady but low.
“Not a great one,” you admitted, your lips quirking into a dry smile. “Blind date, courtesy of Ava. It’s... fine, I guess. He’s just... not my type.”
Carmy raised an eyebrow, his curiosity getting the better of him. “What’s your type, then?”
The question caught you off guard, your breath hitching slightly as his words hung in the air. You laughed softly, deflecting. “I don’t know. Someone who doesn’t treat teaching like it’s a hobby or call it a job anyone can do.”
His lips twitched into a faint smirk, and he shook his head in disbelief. “He did not say that.”
You groaned dramatically, closing your eyes as if the memory physically pained you. “Oh, but he did. Word for word, and I quote: ‘Teaching is important, I guess. But it’s gotta be, like… easy, right? Summers off, finger painting, all that?’ And then—then!—he laughed. Like he’d just unlocked the secret to stand-up comedy.”
Carmy blinked, his smirk fading into something closer to incredulity. “You’re kidding.”
“I wish I were,” you said, sighing dramatically. “You’d think he was trying out his Type Five for open mic night. And the pièce de résistance? He throws in the classic ‘no offense.’ Like that’s a verbal Ctrl+Z or something.”
That earned a real laugh from Carmy this time, his shoulders shaking slightly as he shook his head. “What the hell? So, this is what you’re dealing with?”
“Oh, but I’m thriving,” you replied, your tone dripping with sarcasm waving your hand dismissively. “Peak romantic energy. Nothing like being told my career is a glorified arts-and-crafts workshop to really get the sparks flying.”
Carmy leaned slightly against the wall, crossing his arms as he listened. His expression was unreadable, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes—irritation, maybe, or quiet disbelief. “And you’re still out there?”
“Excellent question, Chef Carmy,” you said, pointing at him with mock gravity. “I think it’s a mix of morbid curiosity, sheer stubbornness, and maybe a touch of guilt. I mean, he did spring for the wine. Even if he did refer to it as a ‘top-shelf pour.’”
That made Carmy snort, his head dropping slightly as he tried to compose himself. “Top-shelf pour, huh? Sounds like a real charmer.”
You laughed softly, though there was a bite of bitterness in it. “Oh, totally. It’s been a real dream date. Honestly, if he makes one more crack about teaching being ‘easy,’ I might just—” You mimed strangling someone, your hands curling dramatically as you added a mock growl for effect.
Carmy chuckled, the corner of his mouth quirking up. “I’d pay to see that.”
“Don’t tempt me,” you shot back, your grin sharpening. “It might get me out of this date, but I’m pretty sure assault charges aren’t a great look for me.”
He huffed a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “Fair point.”
Your playful energy dimmed slightly as you glanced toward the dining room. “Anyway, I should probably get back out there before he starts mansplaining the wine list to the waitress. Again.”
Carmy’s lips twitched as if he wanted to laugh, but instead, he straightened up quickly, the weight of his role as head chef settling back onto his shoulders. “Yeah, I should... head back to the kitchen too. Got a lot to wrap up tonight.”
You turned back to him, your expression softening. “Thanks, by the way,” you said, holding his gaze. “For... checking in, I guess. You didn’t have to do that.”
He shrugged a gesture that looked casual but felt like it carried more weight. His voice dropped slightly as he replied, “Yeah, I did.”
The words hung there for a beat, his meaning lingering just beneath the surface as the two of you locked eyes. The air between you felt heavy, almost tangible, like a thread being pulled taut. You wanted to say something—anything. Maybe a joke to break the tension, or maybe the truth: that you liked him, that you wished it was him sitting across from you tonight, making you laugh instead of testing your patience.
Unbeknownst to you, Carmy’s thoughts ran dangerously close to yours. He’d been replaying every interaction with you since the day you moved in next door, every laugh, every casual smile. The thought of you with someone else—someone who didn’t seem to notice the little things about you the way he did—made his chest tighten in ways he couldn’t explain.
But before either of you could give voice to the thoughts swirling in your heads, the faint sound of your date’s voice carried through the hallway, breaking the moment like a needle scratching across a record. You winced slightly, the weight of reality pulling you back.
“Ugh. That’s my cue,” you said, shooting Carmy an exaggerated grimace. “Duty calls.”
Carmy nodded, his expression carefully neutral, though the flicker in his eyes betrayed the emotions he was trying to keep in check. “Good luck out there.”
“Thanks,” you said with a wry grin. “I’ll need it.”
Despite his words, his gaze lingered on yours, as if searching for something unspoken. For a moment, you thought maybe—maybe—he’d say something more, but instead, he stepped back, the faintest of smiles tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“See you around,” he said, his voice quieter now.
“Yeah,” you replied softly, your heart squeezing as you turned to head back toward the dining room. “See you around.”
As you walked away, you couldn’t shake the feeling that you were leaving something unfinished behind. And Carmy, watching you go, felt much the same, his hands flexing at his sides as he fought the urge to call after you.
When he finally turned back toward the kitchen, his jaw tightened, the moment still playing over in his mind. He rubbed the back of his neck, willing himself to focus as he pushed open the swinging door. The familiar clatter and hum of the kitchen greeted him, but it did little to drown out the thoughts circling his head.
He barely made it three steps before Richie appeared, leaning casually against the counter with his signature smirk firmly in place.
“Well, well, look who finally decided to grace us with his presence,” Richie drawled, crossing his arms. “What’s the matter, Cousin? Lose track of time out there? Or were you too busy making googly eyes at the customer? Can't blame you thought, she's gorgeous.”
Carmy’s jaw ticked, his shoulders stiffening. “Shut up, Richie.”
--------
Your date’s voice droned on, a monotonous background noise to your growing sense of regret. Why had you agreed to this? Why hadn’t you just stayed home with a glass of wine and a good book?
Just as you were contemplating an excuse to leave—feigning a sudden headache, maybe, or an urgent call from a friend—a waiter approached your table. It wasn’t the same one who had been serving you throughout the evening, but an older guy with an easy smile and a glimmering of mischief in his eyes carrying a small plate in hand. The plate held an assortment of beautifully arranged pastries, each one delicate and intricate, like a tiny work of art.
“Oh, I didn’t order this,” you said, your brow furrowing as you looked up at him.
“It’s from the chef,” the waiter replied, his tone polite but with a glimmer of something knowing in his eyes.
Your eyes widened slightly, your breath catching as you glanced instinctively toward the kitchen pass. Sure enough, Carmy was there, leaning slightly against the counter, his arms crossed. His expression was unreadable, but there was a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, and his gaze was fixed squarely on you.
Your heart gave a little jolt, heat creeping up your neck as you turned back to the table.
Your date, meanwhile, was entirely oblivious to the silent exchange. He grinned widely, puffing out his chest a little as he gestured to the plate. “See? Told you this place was top-notch. They must’ve recognized me. Perks of being a regular.”
It took everything in you not to burst out laughing. Instead, you bit back your amusement, your lips twitching into a barely restrained smile as you reached for one of the pastries.
“Right,” you said lightly, turning the pastry over in your hand. “Must be your VIP status.”
As you took a bite, the pastry practically melted in your mouth, a perfect blend of buttery richness and delicate sweetness. It was so good it almost made you forget the company you were keeping—almost.
“You know, this kind of attention doesn’t happen just anywhere. It’s all about knowing the right people.”
“Mmm,” you murmured, taking a bite of one of the delicate confections. It melted in your mouth, rich and buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness.
When you glanced back toward the pass, Carmy was already gone, disappearing back into the kitchen as seamlessly as he’d appeared. But his gesture lingered, wrapping around you like a quiet reassurance, a small thread of comfort in an otherwise unbearable evening.
And for the first time that night, your smile wasn’t forced.

── .✦ CONVERGENCE THEORY ノ chapter one.
featuring. guitarist!geto x nerd!jo x bimbo!reader. warnings. cursing, sex jokes. summary. a brainiac who quotes theorems, a rock god who smashes guitars, and a social butterfly who can't remember anyone's name. the three of you couldn't be further different if you tried. but, what is it they say? ...opposites attract? word count. 1.4k+ words. a/n. was literally half-asleep writing this. enjoy, uh, whatever this may be. might go in for edits, after i've gotten more than two hours of sleep? divider credits to @/bronzewasp and @/enchanthings-a. -> click here for the series m.list!
"you just need to think about it. i mean, you're almost there."
that was a lie. shamelessly, your tutor, satoru gojo, lied to you. it's not like you're listening, anyways. well, okay, you tried. for a whole two minutes, then you tapped out.
besides, you're nailing that third layer of gloss, lips pursed like you're trying to suck a golf ball through a straw. the compact mirror reflects peak shine, a momentary oasis of perfection in the academic wasteland.
"y/n?" satoru persists, tapping the twenty-five that was circled in the corner. for a millisecond, you experience a flicker of what might be called academic concern.
it manifests as a slight tightening around the eyes, quickly suppressed. but then, you realize it's just a number.
you glance at it. red ink. a lot of it. it looks like a crime scene for a pen. but it’s just a number. a number signifying a thing you clearly didn’t prioritize.
you shrug internally. it’s not that you're opposed to doing well, it's just that the effort-to-reward ratio seems wildly unbalanced, especially when you're this close to achieving peak lip gloss.
you take one look at him, sighing. wondering to yourself, how did i get here? to which you would remember the four failed tests in a row. every single time, your professor, the human equivalent of beige wallpaper, dropped your test face down. like it was a biohazard.
if you were more self-aware, maybe you'd have realized it's close to one.
snapping your compact mirror shut, you huff at him. eyes boring into him, as if satoru personally committed a war crime against you. setting it on the table, you groan, "what?"
he gives you an awkward smile, signature of his. another signature of his? that sweater vest. he's got three or four in rotation, and you'd make fun of him.
you would, but it's uncanny how well they look on him. you're not sure what it is, but paired with those glasses that are too big for him, he pulls it off.
not that he even bothers.
satoru ducks his head, prompting to fiddle with his pencil instead. you fight the urge to roll your eyes.
so far, as much as you've counted, the max he can hold eye contact with you is four seconds. ooh, he was close to beating his record this time.
a whopping three. since you were feeling generous, you even throw in another couple milliseconds. you consider yourself a pretty good individual, anyways.
he clears his throat, eyes fixed on the mess of a test. "this one. number seven. let's try it again?" it comes out more like a question, and you giggle. it's not condescending, you swear, he's just funny.
maybe, satoru doesn't think the same. not from the way his cheeks are red. almost the same shade as the ink, you notice.
you pop the bubble you've blown with your gum, "but i don't, like, get it."
"that's okay. 's what i'm here for. look, you didn't even do anything crazy here. just," he pauses, squinting at your work. it's in warm, curly handwriting. it's pretty, but most of it seems to be random numbers.
"oh, I see," he mumbled, pushing his glasses up. they slid back down. you considered suggesting glasses that fit, then decided it was probably part of the... presentation.
"see, you just forgot to carry the two. early on here. that's why the rest of this doesn't make sense."
you blinked. "there's a two?"
"well, yeah. see, they give it to you."
"where?" you squinted, shifting slightly, as if the paper being upside-down would better aid you.
he pointed. "...there?"
"oh," you shrugged. "i didn't see that."
his eyes nearly bulged. "then what were you going off of?"
another shrug. "i don't remember."
he stared. "you just... guessed?"
"maybe?" you tilted your head. "is that a problem? Is there a 'no guessing' rule i missed?"
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "this is a calculus problem."
"and?"
"and you can't just guess."
"why not? Is the answer going to explode if i guess wrong? does it trigger a self-destruct sequence in the paper?" you tapped the sheet with a long, very pink, acrylic nail. "because I'm willing to risk it. i'm feeling lucky. like, i just found a twenty dollar bill in my laundry lucky."
he looked at the equation, then back at you, then back at the equation. "you know, sometimes i wonder if you're pulling my leg."
"is that a legitimate mathematical operation?" you asked, pointing to the paper. "can we add 'pulling legs' to the list of acceptable problem solving techniques?"
with you, he can't tell if you're joking or not. he sincerely hopes you are, and that isn't a true thought in your head, but he wouldn't be surprised if it were.
he's about to open your mouth, but when he looks up to meet your gaze, he sees that it's not on him anymore. it's all the way across the library, to the glass doors.
or, rather, what passes behind them. unmistakable, even with the two seconds he gets.
suguru geto. suguru with his long, black hair, electric guitar on his back. unmistakeable.
alas, to you, he wasn't just suguru. he was ex-boyfriend suguru. satoru wasn't one for gossip, but you and him had been all the talk before, during, and after.
you're seething, at least a little bit. because, there, hand-in-hand, with him, is some girl. the audacity.
"he's mocking me," you mutter.
"uh, i don't know. i don't think he knows you're in here."
"of course, he does. there's no way he's actually over me. right?" the last word tumbles out a moment after the others, filled with pure, unadulterated shock.
you turn to face him, leaning in. "right?" to which, satoru scoots back, pressed against the chair. he thinks he would like to go back to math now.
"that- that piece of shit. whatever," you huff, though you may seem anything but unbothered. "he's the one missing out."
"...yeah. um, anyways-"
"but, seriously," you start. oh, god, he thinks. "he's doing it to piss me off, right? he thinks, like, everything's about him, right? as if i'd go after that poor girl. she's already probably going through a lot with him. besides," you scoff, "i'm way above that."
he offers you a weak smile. "right. now, about the two-"
"i just can't believe he'd move on so quick."
satoru sighs. he's a man who knows when he's lost. "yeah. how dare he."
"that's what i'm saying!" you threw your hands up in exclamation, a gesture that could launch a thousand ships, or at least a strongly worded complaint from the librarian.
she shot you a dirty look, the kind that could curdle milk and wilt houseplants. you shot one right back.
"okay," he said quickly, his voice a desperate plea for academic sanity. "can we go back to the two? we only have ten minutes left, and frankly, my will to live is dwindling with each passing second."
"he's such an ass," you muttered, then paused, a flicker of grudging admiration in your eyes. "an ass that's good in bed. what a shame."
the tips of his ears pinked. you suppressed a grin. what a virgin. you were sure of it, at least. he had potential, should he ever give up on the whole nerd thing.
maybe swap the sweater vests for something a little less… "grandpa goes to a book club" and a little more… "leather jacket and a motorcycle he definitely doesn't own."
you glanced at the digimon pins on his backpack. nevermind, that may be too far for him. he was probably still debating which starter digimon was the most strategically viable.
you, on the other hand, were not even bothering with a backpack. it was a leather hobo bag, large enough to smuggle a small, moderately anxious chihuahua, and frankly, a graded test in there would just be clutter.
you had more important things occupying the space, like a half-eaten bag of those weird ginger candies that tasted like spicy sadness, a spare tube of lip gloss in case you needed to blind your enemies with pure shine, and a crumpled receipt for a questionable amount of boba.
sighing, rather dramatically, like a tragic heroine in a black and white film, you looked back at the doors. dumb suguru. messing up your day.
sure, it wasn't going all that well, given that you'd been doing math for two hours, a feat that should qualify you for some kind of endurance award, but he didn't have to make it worse. he was like a mosquito at a picnic, just buzzing around and ruining everything.
"two?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper, as if afraid to disturb the delicate balance of your emotional turmoil.
"two," you agreed, deflated, blowing a bubble that popped with a sad little plip.

━━ ❝MASTERLIST❞
in this pick-a-card reading, we’ll dive into what people really have to say about you—whether it’s glowing praise or secret whispers. what’s the tea they spill when you’re not around? remember, this is a general reading — take what resonates and leave the rest.
if you have any ideas for tarot pacs you'd like me to do, feel free to drop them in my ask box, and i'll make it happen!
choose the picture or pile that calls to you and let the magic unfold!
PILE ONE i can tell this pile feels personal—what people say about you hits close to home. they think you're indecisive, struggling to take action or follow through on what you said you'd do. it frustrates them; they feel like you can’t commit to certain things. some even say you’re guarded, mysterious, hard to read. and that only makes them more curious—what’s really beneath all of that? there’s also this idea that you avoid confrontation, preferring to stay neutral. while some see that as wise, others view it as passivity, like you’re afraid to stand your ground. interestingly, one specific person seems to stand out here. they’re obsessively focused on you, constantly talking about you. they might discuss things you’ve been through—maybe toxic relationships, bad habits, or difficult patterns. but it’s not all criticism. a lot of people are fascinated by you. they find you magnetic, charming, even alluring. some are jealous, though. they notice your sensitivity—maybe they’ve seen you cry or assume you’re the type to cry in public. they might even think you look younger than you are, which makes them wonder about your age. there’s also talk about your creativity. whether it’s how you dress or how you express yourself artistically, it leaves an impression. and then there’s the assumption that you’ve “got it all.” some think you’re rich or incredibly successful, even if you don’t feel that way yourself. maybe something big happened recently—an achievement, a win, or an opportunity that others wanted. it’s clear they see your potential, and that potential is both admired and envied. people question if it’s luck or hard work that gets you where you are.

PILE TWO people talk about how cautious you are, how you take your time with everything, and how you question every little detail. to them, it might come off as overly slow or even boring because you’re not impulsive. they see you as someone who hesitates or spends too long planning before acting, and some might say you’re no fun because of it. they notice how you like to have a plan for everything, but they don’t realize that beneath that calm surface lies an inner beast—a strength they can’t begin to comprehend. you handle things with patience and emotional control, and people see that. they talk about how calm you remain, even in serious or emotional situations. it’s like nothing can shake you, and that composure either impresses or frustrates them. some gossip that your strength borders on stubbornness, but let’s be real—that envy stems from wishing they had the kind of self-control you do. there’s competition swirling around you, even if you don’t see it. people notice how you deal with disagreements and conflicts. you’re unbothered, and that drives them crazy. they might talk about how you’re not afraid to speak up, even if it causes tension. they focus on how you defend yourself, how you never back down, even in situations where others think you should. they see you as determined, standing firm in your beliefs and decisions, and that resilience makes some people misunderstand or even resent you. it’s funny, though—they think you provoke them with how you respond or even just with your presence. your energy bothers them, but that’s their problem, not yours. you stand your ground, and that’s what really sets you apart.

PILE THREE people gossip a lot about your quiet nature and what’s going on in your life behind the scenes. they’re curious about what you’re up to, especially since you keep things so private. it’s like your silence sparks endless speculation. some even find you suspicious, questioning your motives, intentions, or honesty—accusing you of being manipulative or using tricks. there’s talk about you avoiding confrontation or shying away from taking responsibility, and for some, this feeds into the narrative of you being a liar. there’s a sense that you’ve distanced yourself from people, maybe even withdrawn completely. this makes others wonder what you’re searching for—your purpose or direction in life. your quietness, while intriguing, can make you hard to approach. some feel like they can’t fully connect with you, as if you’re masking your true self or staying intentionally detached. on the other side, there are those who admire you. they see you as wise and insightful, someone who remains calm and composed even under pressure. your guarded nature and emotional detachment make you magnetic in a way that draws people in, even if they don’t fully understand you. they gossip about how cautious and hesitant you are to take bold risks, calling you predictable. yet, they also acknowledge your ability to handle life’s ups and downs with grace and poise. whether people envy, misunderstand, or admire you, it’s clear that your energy leaves a lasting impression.

What's Your 'It Factor'?
Notes:
'It Factor' is defined here as a standout quality or things other people would find inspiring or agree sets you apart from others in some way. I had imagined this would turn out a lot different but I noticed the reading was more so in a general sense rather than in a specific context, so do keep that in mind as you read it!
This reading is for entertainment purposes only. ✨ Please take only what resonates.

PILE 1
What are your core strengths or talents that define your unique 'it' factor?
Pile 1, your 'it' factor comes from ability to utilize to apply your skills in any area you choose to dive into. It doesn’t have to be something you’re naturally good at. As long as you set the intention to pursue something and have confidence in yourself, you’re immensely capable of achieving it. You have a unique talent for blending and transforming what you learn into other aspects of your life. It’s like you’re able to morph into whatever you decide to be, while remaining strong and successful. That adaptability and transformation is a huge part of your 'it' factor.
It might not seem like a big deal or even feel like a talent, but when you commit to something, you’re like a seed with the potential to grow abundantly. This applies not just to creative endeavors, but to any area you choose. Another big factor is your calm, quiet confidence. It’s not bold or loud but a deep knowing that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. This self-assurance amplifies your 'it' factor.
For you, this blend of intentionality and intuition is a core strength. You might wonder how this is an 'it' factor, but it's incredibly admirable and can be applied to any area of your life. You have almost infinite potential to thrive in any space you enter; you just have to believe in your ability to do so.

PILE 2
What is Your Core Strength or Talent That Defines Your Unique 'It' Factor?
You have a remarkable way of breathing life into the things around you, creating an aura where everything seems to work in your favor. You're incredibly magnetic, and your presence inspires others. Even when you're uncertain about where life will take you or when you feel lost, you hold onto hope and the belief that life has the potential to improve. Your ability to romanticize life makes you feel like 'it.' Even when others have a more negative perspective or tell you to be 'realistic' (rightfully so at times), you maintain your optimism and hope that things will work out, even if you can't see it yet. You also recognize your limits and understand that your nurturing energy needs to be focused on yourself as well. People often envy you because things always seem to work out in your favor.

PILE 3
What Is Your Core Strength or Talent That Defines Your Unique 'It' Factor?
One of your most defining traits is your unwillingness to remain in situations, relationships, or mindsets that don't serve your highest good. You're not afraid to walk away or go within to set yourself up for new beginnings full of excitement and potential. This courage to venture into the unknown may be your unique 'It Factor,' bringing you unexpected but beautiful moments. From an outside perspective, it's inspiring to watch.
You do things when they're right for you, not on anyone else's schedule. If you have dependents—whether they're children, siblings, family, or even professional connections—your actions are never reckless. You make these choices to show up better for those who rely on you. You never take anyone for granted and can align your actions with the best interests of yourself and others, which is truly amazing. Your ability to pivot for the greater good of yourself and others may actually be your defining strength.

The sun had long since disappeared into the sea, bathing the room in a soft, muted darkness as you sit on your bed. Only the soft candlelight enveloped your chambers in a gentle glow.
The day had been exhausting, marked by the tumultuous quarrel that your uncle, Daemon Targaryen, had once again caused. The ensuing heated arguments had pushed you to your limits, and you had finally retreated.
In the silence of your chambers you have sought refuge and taken a bath, hoping to relax and calm your thoughts. Now you sit on your bed, still waiting for the relaxation to finally set in. But you can't shake an oppressive feeling. Hoping to shake off the feeling, you gently spread some lavender oil on your arms and legs, wanting to be enveloped by the soothing scent. With only a towel wrapped around your upper body, you try to calm down.
But in the midst of the quiet solitude, you feel the intrusion of an unwelcome presence. You flinch as your door is suddenly pushed open. You lift your gaze, and there, in the center of the room, stood Daemon Targaryen, his countenance filled with seething rage. The room seemed to echo with his heavy, labored breaths, and his piercing, purple eyes bore into your soul.
You look at him with your big purple Targaryen eyes, "Uncle?" you whisper a little uncertainly, trying to cover your body.
His gaze is fixed on you, his expression one of apparent stoicism, except for the wrinkles on his forehead that betray the storm of anger seething within him. You feel his eyes slowly move down your body in a blatant display of lust. But you remain silent, not really daring to breathe. After a while the silence is almost unbearable. You try to squeeze your legs further together, your hands clinging to the towel as an attempt to protect your upper body from his gaze.
"Uncle?" you finally ask again, when you can't stand the stifling silence any longer.
But then, without warning, he rushes toward you with big steps. In the process, he knocks over a chair that gets in his way. The flight reflex takes hold of you and you try to crawl away, but he is faster. He gets a hold of your leg and pulls you back. He presses you firmly against the mattress.
"Uncle!" you scream out as he pushes your legs apart brutally with his knees. He must take out his rage on you.
He grabs you with all his might and holds your mouth shut while he hisses in your ear, "Not. Another. Word."
You just whimper and tears come to your eyes. He tears the towel away from you and you lie exposed under him.
Without warning, he thrusts his fingers into you and you hear a dark growl in his chest.
You continue to whimper and try to escape his grip, to close your legs. But his grip is firm and unyielding. Again and again he thrusts his fingers into you, making you squirm. His other hand presses firmly on your mouth, you can't speak, only whimpering sounds escape you. You begin to beat against his chest. Again and again your hands hit against him, but they seem to hit against his muscular chest almost without any noticeable damage.
You whimper as the realization comes to you that you can't fight back. But then you reach into his long, silver hair. You pull at it brutally. You hear him growl and his hand leaves your mouth. You want to scream, but he grabs your wrist and only a pained gasp leaves your lips. He grabs so tightly that you fear he might shatter your wrist.
"Let go," he hisses. Involuntarily, your hand lets go of his hair, but the pain is unbearable. You drop your hand next to your body and his hand covers your mouth again. You squeeze your eyes shut as tears spring to your eyes.
Suddenly you feel him stop thrusting his fingers inside you. He pulls them out and you breathe a little sigh of relief. You watch him as he looks at you with his dark eyes. There is nothing left of the purple in his eyes.
Slowly he takes his fingers into his mouth and slowly licks your juice off them. Your eyes widen, your breathing heavy. You are paralyzed and he slowly takes his hand from your mouth again.
"Such sweet innocence is so rare in this world..." you hear him murmur, "I'm going to take that innocence from you," he continues to growl.
Hearing his last words, you try to escape again. You squirm and try to crawl away. But Daemon pushes you onto the bed, like a rock he lies between your legs. He grabs your head and pulls you closer, his lips hovering just above your ear, "Tell anyone what happened here tonight and you won't live to see the next moon."
Pure panic is written in your eyes, your wild breathing seems uncontainable, but you just nod slightly, a light sob escaping you.
Again he thrusts his fingers into you and you whimper. He's not gentle, he's rough. You feel the rage emanating from him. His grunt echoes through your chambers.
Slowly, almost tenderly to the thrusts of his fingers, he begins, with his other hand, to spread your legs wider. He looks down and sees his fingers disappearing inside you over and over again. The sound of his grunting seems unbearable to you.
"No one would believe you, sweet niece. No one would dare call me a liar..." he hisses at you. But you are unable to reply. You squeeze your eyes shut again as you feel his fingers penetrate you.
Until one of his hands wraps around your neck, his fingers squeezing tight. Your eyes pop open and you see his sinister grin.
You just whimper, but you feel your wetness increase between your thighs. The smacking sound caused by the work of his fingers echoes through your chambers. You hear him chuckle darkly, "Pathetic…", he murmurs.
But then he takes his hand from your neck for a short time. The smacking sound is now accompanied by the sound of his belt buckle opening.
Almost softly with a sweet undertone he whispers directly in your ear, "What an unexpected turn of events, sweet niece. Very unexpected..."
He pulls you closer to him so that your mouths are almost touching. But he just presses his hand over your mouth again.
"This is going to hurt," he murmurs.
"Please Uncle... no...", you whimper incomprehensibly, while his hand is on your mouth.
But Daemon seems unhindered in his intentions.
You look down slightly and see his hard length twitching almost furiously, with its red tip revealed each time his hand slides down his member.
He pumps his hard manhood a few times and tears run down your cheeks as you watch him.
You feel him slide his tip through your folds to wet it before he penetrates you without another word.
You feel that you are almost split. A searing pain runs through you. You want to cry out, but the hand on your mouth prevents it. You try to fight back, to push him away, but he's stronger.
"Take it... In your tight cunt..." Daemon grunts. You just whimper as he looks down at you. His rough thrusts don't let up, stretching you inch by inch.
He presses his lips on your neck and leans close to you. You feel his hot breath glide over your skin, his whisper is almost inaudible.
"No one will ever believe you... I will do as I please. And when I'm done with you, I'll do it again and again and again... No one will believe that the rogue prince did anything to the king's daughter," he hisses.
His hand slides down from your mouth and cups your neck, squeezing tight. Your vision weakens as his thrusts become almost unbearably hard.
His length is too much for you and you feel pain that brings tears to your eyes again. Tears roll down your face as you realize that all you can do is submit. Your outcry echoes through your chambers. But Daemon thrusts even harder, almost as if driven by your tears and whimpers. The bed creaks violently with each thrust.
He is silent as he penetrates you deeper and deeper with each thrust. His hand is still on your neck, fingers gripping tightly as he brings you closer to unconsciousness.
"Poor sweet daughter of the king," he whispers in your ear. "A princess's life is never what it should be."
He pulls you closer to him, your lips almost touching, a sob escapes you.
"No one will know, sweet niece…," he whispers almost gently. But his whisper is followed by a deep thrust, "But I love this," Daemon suddenly hisses.
His hand grips tighter, while the other claws firmly into the sheets, just below your back, as if seeking support.
"I love hearing you whimper. I love hearing your cries of pain..." he grunts.
He thrusts harder, grunts louder and suddenly you feel a warmth inside you that you don't want to feel. Your thighs begin to tremble. A moan wants to push through your lips, but you bite down hard on them. But Daemon senses that your climax is near, as your cunt begins to clench around his cock.
"Filthy whore..." Daemon grunts. But again a grin appears on his face.
He thrusts harder and you squirm, trying to escape him, trying not to feel this pleasure.
"You poor sweet innocent niece. Why do you have to pretend you don't like it?" you hear him say, the smirk never leaving his face.
You feel him deep inside you with every thrust. His breathing only a panting, but he does not let up.
You feel that you can't stop it, you're about to come.
"Noooo...", you cry out, "I hate it," you whimper.
But Daemon only grunts loudly as he thrusts violently and repeatedly. His hand squeezes your throat tightly, his knees press against your thighs to open them even wider, to thrust even deeper. With each thrust he pushes against your womb and you can't help but cry out.
He leans even closer to you and whispers in your ear.
"You love this, sweet niece. You love the way I take you. You love the way it hurts," he whispers almost gently. But his thrusts make it clear that he is anything but gentle.
"No..." you cry out again.
But then your eyes roll into the back of your head. You feel the heat spreading through your abdomen and you come, moaning involuntarily. Your cunt clenches hard around his cock and literally pulls him in even deeper.
Daemon can't hold it in anymore, groaning loudly and squirting his hot seed deep inside you. He breathes heavily and his hips try to keep thrusting, but they start to get sloppy.
You feel the warm white liquid fill you and with his slow thrusts he prevents the seed from leaking out again. Breathing heavily, you look at your uncle, not daring to speak. Your bodies covered in sweat, your womb filled with his seed.
He looks at you viciously and leans forward, "And when you wake up tomorrow, you'll think it was all a dream... or maybe even a nightmare," his soft whisper rings out.

Imagine tripping up Sir Crocodile
Crocodile: *arguing with the navigator over the route and holding up the entire expedition*
Navigator: *trying to talk him out of making them take a dangerous route*
You: *watching from a safe distance* Is it just me or is he being... I wanna say stubborn stupid?
Mihawk: the word you're looking for is belligerent, and he is indeed being belligerent.
Buggy: even I think he's being foolish.
You: wow, and coming from you, that's really saying something.
Buggy: can it
Mihawk: it's not like any of us can talk him out of this, that man is stubborn as hell.
You: well, I might have a way to make him forget about what he wants.
Buggy: you seem hesitant.
You: I've never used this method, I've just heard about it.
Mihawk: If it gets us back out to sea, then I'm all for you giving it a try.
Buggy: I second that
You: Alright *stand with your back to Mihawk and Buggy, and you lift your shirt, exposing your chest to Crocodile*
Crocodile: *gawks at you, dropping his cigar*
Navigator: There is a big storm going that way. We need to follow the log pose needle that points toward another island!
Crocodile: *having a mental error 404* Sure, let's do that.
Navigator: *throws his hands up,* thank the gods, finally.
Crocodile: *scowls at the man, then up at you*
You: *drops your shirt and turns back to Buggy and Mihawk and grins*
Buggy: Wow, I'm surprised that was so effective.
You: I'm not
Mihawk: why's that?
You: Because men are easy.
Mihawk: That's not true.
Buggy: Yes it is.
Crocodile: *realizes something is up with you three and comes over* The fuck?
You: nothing
Buggy: this one flashed you to get you to stop being a stubborn ass.
Crocodile: *his neck cracks when he slowly turns his head towards you, his gaze wide-eyed, angry, and unblinking.*
You: snitch *Smacks the back of Buggy's head, and books it to your room*
Crocodile: *follows, turning into sand to bypass your door,* when will you learn that this isn't an effective tactic to evade punishment.
You: fuck.
Crocodile: *uses his large body to cage you against the wall.* Hehe, I must admit that I'm surprised at you. I never would have thought you would be so bold as to expose yourself in the open and in front of people. And it's also impressive that you would successfully trick me, a feat very few have achieved. *Uses the dull part of his hook to tilt your chin up to look at him*
You: So you're not mad?
Crocodile: No, I'm quite pleased...soft drags his hook down your neck and over your collarbone, before looping it around your neck and forcing your head back to look at him* ... But that doesn't erase the fact you undermined me, and ruined a perfectly good cigar. So you're still getting punished.
You: *wincing at the feeling of the tip of his hook digging into the tender underside of your jaw. And you struggle to keep your balance because he's lifted you to your tippy-toes.*
Crocodile: But don't worry, I'll be gentle.

Did I Achieve my Earnest Hopes & Dreams for Wind and Truth?
The night before Wind and Truth came out, I wrote up a list of things I was hoping to have happen (or not happen) in that book. Now that it's a month later and I've finished it, how much of what I wanted did I get?
[Obviously, big big spoilers for Wind & Truth!]
Kaladin lives. WELL... He is...alive. Immortal, really. But all of his friends think he's dead, since he left his body behind when he became a Herald. He did not get to meet with up Adolin & Shallan for drinks like he promised. That's more what I was hoping for...but I'll take this. He IS alive.
Kaladin lives and is happy. WELL... I actually think he's...somewhat happy? He swore the Fifth Ideal. He's with Syl. He's in a Tranquil Mind Palace giving therapy to the Heralds. It does seem like it might get a bit...lonely? But it did not end with him broken or anything like that, so again...I'll take this. He's not unhappy.
There's a really cool Kaladin fight. Maybe two. Honestly, I think we had a sad lack of cool Kaladin fights. I understand that this book was all about Kaladin figuring out who he is without the spear, and I respect that...but I did miss there being some kind of Grand Kaladin Entrance After Which He Kicks Serious Butt. The only fight we got was him vs. Nale, which was...okay, but was solved ultimately via Flute and Therapy and not Cool Fighting Moves. I'm a somewhat simple soul. I missed having Cool Fighting Moves.
Kaladin & Szeth have to fight someone together. Not really. :( Not in the "back-to-back facing off against a hundred foes" that I was picturing, at least.
Leshwi has a significant role. Leshwi was there, but mostly walking and complaining about having to walk now. Again, I was hoping for more Cool Fighting Leshwi, which we didn't get, but I did like that we at least got some scenes with her.
There's a really cool Leshwi fight. Sadly, not so much. Her small amount of fighting was off-screen.
Adolin is NOT Odium's champion. He sure wasn't!
Adolin lives. He did! I think the Adolin story was one of my favorites, to be honest. Him becoming Unoathed was so cool.
Shallan lives (I'm not super worried about her for whatever reason but I couldn't just include two of the three, you know?) She did! ...Although trapped in Shadesmar but NOT able to world jump, which feels like the worst of both worlds. As soon as she got trapped I was like "Hell yeah Shallan worldhopper," but it doesn't seem like it's going that way, unfortunately.
Rlain & Renarin romance. Hell yeah! The Rlain & Renarin romance throughout this was super cute.
Rlain & Renarin romance that isn't like tragic or awkward or anything. I request warm & fuzzy plz. Yes! I like that it wasn't super angsty or anything. They both realized that they liked each other pretty quickly and then just kept making eyes at each other.
Shallan & Thaidakar meet. Well, they TALKED, so I'll take that!
MeLaan cameo. Well, as @archmage236 pointed out at the time, this was impossible since Mistborn Era 2 is after Stormlight. And there were no time travel shenanigans either. We DID get a kandra...but it was Ulaam, and not a cool kandra spy reveal.
...I notice the MeLaan cameo. I didn't but I'm pretty sure it's not my bad this time.
Rock returns or at least is in the book somehow. There was NO Rock! I was genuinely sad about that.
Kaladin hits his head on a doorframe in Shinovar. But not as sad as I was about Kaladin not bonking his head on ANYTHING. A tragic missed opportunity.
Navani invents something cool. You know...I don't think she did, unless you count the weird cocoon thing at the end. But she did figure out how to navigate through the Spiritual Realm, which was a cool Navani Science Moment so I'm counting it.
Navani thinks about Raboniel. I think maybe briefly?
We get the third Bondsmith. We did not! And now that Honor is (actually) dead, I feel like we won't? That's too bad, honestly.
The third Bondsmith isn't human. I suppose technically I got my wish here, yeah.
We find out that there are more than five Radiant oaths (pet theory that I want to be right about) Well I'm not right YET, but...come on! Honor even said he hates the number 5! How could that be the number of oaths?? It just doesn't make sense. It would be like there only being 11 metals or something.
Hemalurgy gets used.....I know that would be bad but I think it would be interesting. Hell yeah. It didn't have a huge role but I was actually delighted that Moash got Marshed.
Hemalurgy doesn't get used on anyone I care about!! I mean...I do care about Moash but I think he was a good choice for this. Future Herald Kaladin vs. Hemalurgic Moash battle, one assumes?
Shallan doesn't incorporate Radiant. :(
Maya cure. Yeah, like I said, I thought Adolin's arc--and by extension, Maya and the other Deadeyes' arc--was great! Maya was so butch and I love what she created with Adolin.
The theory that Shallan's mother was a Herald is confirmed. I think it's a cool theory. Oh wow was it ever! The chills I got when Shallan said, "She was at my wedding."
Bondsmith powers used for a fight. I think it would be cool. Sadly, no. We never really did get to see how they'd be used in combat.
Satisfying Sanderlanche. I don't think it was the Greatest Sanderlanche of All Time or anything, but I was fully captivated (and yes, the biggest downside for me was that it was more Emotions and Philosophy than Cool Fights with Swords. I'm a simple woman).
Kaladin meets a sheep. Or a dog. Or BOTH. I CAN'T BELIEVE SANDERSON CANONIZED NO DOGS AT ALL. Tragic. A true blow. And Kaladin only saw sheep from a distance.
I don't cry too hard... I actually did not. I teared up at actually two parts: when Maya came with all of the Deadeyes and when Kaladin decided to take Szeth's place as the Herald. (But honestly, I don't cry at books very often, so maybe that's on me.)

Season 1 Vanco, Season 2 Vanco and why I love both
There are people who will insist that shipping season 1 Vanco and season 2 Vanco is almost two different things. I don’t fully agree.
I wrote my “why I’m drawn to them” post in season 1 and even back then, for me at least the allure with the idea of the “one big happy family”. Of it being so close you could taste it. Of it being the ultimate what if. Of all the things that could be fixed if Zaundads were just real (in season 1: mostly the conflict between Jinx and Vi).
So yes, season 2 came as a shock of just how aligned the writers ended up being with the way I saw the ship even in season 1. And even in some ways I wouldn’t have dared to hope.
Still, I do understand the point that s1 Zaundads is a subtly different ship almost as s2 Zaundads. I’m just lucky enough to like both.
Season 1 Zaundads…
Season 1 Zaundads was broody and mysterious. Full of violence, veiled references and open questions. “I’ve heard this kind of talk before”, “There are worse things than enforcers out there”, “you had my respect”, “brothers and sisters, back to back against whatever the world threw at us”.
But also of evocative parallels. If in my ways Vi is Vander’s and Jinx is Silco’s, if they are like their fathers and yearn to be together, is it that strange to imagine a this being mirrored by Vander and Silco when you try to imagine their relationship? When Silco as he tries to ward off Vi is the one who draws the comparison to him and Vander over and over again, while Jinx questions how honest he really is in this regard?
And then there’s Silco and the heartbreaking parallels. The show starts with Vander changing his life to pick up his future daughters. And it ends with Silco ending up in a very similar spot, willing to value Jinx over attaining Zaun and losing his life over it. What can I do but question whether this falling out between them was really necessary if in the end maybe they end up in such a similar situation, which Silco himself seems to realize when he seeks out Vander’s statue.
And ah, the poignancy, that he seeks out the Vander statue at all to talk to it when he is so close to his moment of triumph.
Season 2 Zaundads…
When Season 1 Zaundads drove us crazy with speculation what happened between them, what they were like in the before timed, what exactly happened to make Vander turn on Silco, sesaon 2 answers some of those questions. And yeah, some of those answers were underwhelming, not gonna lie.
But! To me there’s still beauty in season 2. Season 2 on a Zaundad front is so much about yearning. About Vander’s yearning especially. It’s there in his letter. It’s there in how Silco is still in Warwick’s mind as he scours the mines half crazed.
It’s there in the little love shack and the jackets. It’s there in Jinx, the person who probably knew Silco best in the recent years says the letter would have mattered, it would have changed so much. It’s there in Silco, a sweet, loving Silco memory being the first thing that shows up when Viktor manages to enter Vander’s soul.
And there are other things, worth loving, the way Silco looks even in Vander’s dark red visions of him, the way the tease in the flashback to their younger selves, the way Silco is scribbling away and then of course … the AU.
The AU that has the writers coming out firmly on the side of “a reunion would have been possible” but also “a reunion is close to the best thing that could have happened to the world”.
This element might not be necessary to make a good ship, and it sure isn’t what I expected to get when I shipped them in season 1. But I think a shipper group or two can confirm that it feels pretty damn awesome to look at your ship and think: “their love changed the world and it made it better” (and you know, not just just in the sense that they are the ones that made it worse in the first place :p)
A personal take
People talk a lot about how Silco and Vander could have made up and how they achieved the Zaun we see in season 2, episode 7. Did Silco come around to Vander’s side of seeing things, or the other way around. I don’t have a problem with either approach.
But my personal preference has always been towards balance, of both parts of a couple being developed and important and worth cheerleading.
So for my personal tastes, I like to think it needs both of them. They are better together than apart. Their approaches are flawed are incomplete without the other. Silco’s approach is shit highly questionable (as in: I question whether the society he would achieve would be a very appealing one and not full of its own problems) if it doesn’t have some of Vander’s conciliatory and communal elements and Vander’s approach is shit without Silco’s zeal and focus.

Shuro’s status of nobility has been brought up a few times when discussing his fight with Laios. I’m sure there’s credibility to the argument but the way it’s been used makes me go, “huh??”
I’ve seen his upbringing used in a negative context, usually to flatten his reasons for fighting with Laios. “oh he’s used to people listening to him so he’s never met anyone who doesn’t do exactly what he says” or “he’s never been exposed to anyone new or any new perspectives and that’s why he hated Laios”. I don’t think these opinions are salient in fan spaces but I saw it enough times I wanted to talk about it.
I feel like we just, forgot that Toshiro is a foreigner? The only poc in the party? And never interacted with gnomes, dwarves, and halffoots since they don’t live in the east? (well, the last point depends on how much you’ve seen from the Adventurer’s Bible)
Compared to everyone else, he probably had the MOST exposure to new people and experiences. And yet he was able to, best he can, quickly assimilate and harmonize with everyone in his new party. Regardless of what he thought about them, it seemed everyone else thought he was amicable. As a poc (and East Asian specifically), that’s mission accomplished.
With all that effort into making himself culturally digestible, it’s no wonder he resented/envied Laios. He put in all this effort to learn their status quo, to not offend the new people he’s meeting, only for Laios to not give him the same consideration. Both of them were socially inept in some way, but only one of them felt the need to do something about it. It’s important to note that their fight was a turning point for Laios too - he realize he had to be more aware and present for his team.
So Toshiro didn’t want to say no outright because it might set back the bonds he’s trying to form. Confrontation is hard, confrontation in a new country is harder. He settles for “close enough” because hey, it’s not that big of a deal. Their opinion of me is way more important than obtaining respect for myself. I’m the foreigner. This has the consequence of making him a pushover, but I digress. He seems to identify himself more as a foreigner than nobility.
And that had to do with separating his identity! The identify he has at his house was kept VERY separate from the one he has with Laios and co. He doesn’t want Laios’ party to know that he is nobility. He doesn’t even care that they call him by “first name”, albeit butchered. He never mentioned the retainers to them (since Chilchuck had to ask who they were).
The retainers are people he’d rather keep at a distance due to their connection with his dad. This might be why he joined Laios’ party solo given the opportunity. But as we see in the image below, they followed him into the dungeon ANYWAYS. You can’t convince me he wanted them to do that. They watch from a distance, disregarding Toshiro’s independence. They don’t always listen to him, they do what they think is best for him, which means they actually follow MAIZURU. To her, his status as their young master is very important, and therefore he needs to be waited on hand and foot. It’s not that he’s used to people doing stuff for him, it’s moreso Maizuru does it regardless.

What drives both identities is an inability to assert himself. He don’t think highly of himself (living under his father’s shadow) and it shows in how people treat him. With Laios and others, he had the opportunity to shape a new identity, but because Laios was the one that introduced him, he and everyone else just accepted the misconceptions. I’m sure Toshiro noted his surprisingly strong influence on his team, something he hasn’t achieved.
With his retainers and Maizuru specifically, she doesn’t put faith in his decisions. She tsked at the fact they went to save Falin, but obeyed anyways because he’s never asserted himself before. (Reminder that assertion is him on his knees requesting their help - the hierarchy of his upbringing does not feel ingrained in him. Giving me overly respectful and considerate vibes, the silly guy)
So he CAN do it! He CAN shape how people see him if he is able to open up a bit more. Rather than his nobility, it’s moreso that he’s never trusted anyone to open up to in the first place. He doesn’t fit in back home. He’s distant from Maizuru, he’s distant from Hien. He’s distant from his brothers and parents. He basically never had friends until Laios. This is his first friend too!!!
He finally opened up to him, and that’s going to pave the way for his character development in the future. He now has someone he can trust, someone to put his faith in, and someone to teach him how to communicate better. By airing his resentment, now all that’s left is that envy/admiration. He’s going to learn from that.
Edit: just because I like keeping things together, here’s more discussion about this post :P
#oh my god I did not expect this to be so LONG#hopefully this is the last of my thoughts for a while#I didn’t even touch on other factors affecting his character!!!#thank goodness everyone else has those covered#there’s some great analyses out there#I love when a character’s overarching story is about friendship#and the struggles with the nuance of interacting with people#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#toshiro nakamoto#shuro dungeon meshi#laios touden#shuro

omg… ur dr ratio idea… i’m eating up that angst,,
just thinking about how it’ll cause a rift in their relationship. he feels so inferior to his lover. to watch someone else (who might not even be trying to pursue knowledge) gain acknowledgment from nous, when all of his life he’s been vying for a place in the genius society, makes him feel so conflicted.
he loves them dearly, but he can’t help what he’s feeling. it’s soul-crushing, and he can no longer look at them the same way. their words of comfort are lost on him when he knows that they’ve got potential to join the genius society.
ooh but what could impact him even more is the fact that his lover refuses. they don’t want to take a part in the genius society. 2 ways:
rejecting because they really aren’t bothered about the pursuit of knowledge, nor are they bothered about nous’ acknowledgment. this infuriates ratio further — they had a chance to meet nous, ask a question, be part of the elites — and yet they refused? he’s baffled, irritated and just heavily conflicted on how to feel about you.
rejecting because they feel it’s unfair to ratio, but perhaps to make a point? they explain to ratio that value in oneself doesn’t need to proved to another, that his knowledge is very much enough and maybe comfort him — show that his achievements have merit, tell him that they don’t care about anyone else’s acknowledgement but his. very fluffy. he can react in either way — touched that his lover would refuse something so great, just for him, or be infuriated and baffled like the idea above.
maybe an argument ensues. and again, that argument could end in two ways, depending if you want it to be angsty or not hehe— dr. ratio is angry at first, but melts into your arms, so surprisingly vulnerable as he tells you of his sorrows and insecurities of not being able to join the society. OR it’s a REALLY big argument… and angst ensues….
anyway yeah, good idea. great idea. i love angst so much.
Yeees Ratio will have mixed emotions after this incident. What do you mean they don't want to join the genius society? This is a unique opportunity that only an idiot would refuse. It seems to me that he really believed then that the genius Society was something wonderful that only the best deserved.
The moment Ratio learns of [name]'s decision to refuse the invitation, he becomes even more disappointed. Even words of love will not calm him down. And because of the accumulated disappointment, he will flare up and a quarrel will begin, several offensive words will fly towards his lover, and before he realizes what he said, [name] leaves him alone. This will increase the distance between them. But Veritas will remain a stubborn jerk who will never be the first to apologize. In the end, everything could turn into a breakup, because [name] will no longer be able to tolerate Ratio’s behavior, which at that moment resembled an offended child.
Or things could end more smoothly. Ratio decides to give in to his feelings, he sees that [name] sincerely loves him, an understanding comes to him, biggest loss for him is not the rejection of the genius society and not how Nous ignores him, but his beloved, who always supported and inspired him. And when Ratio hears that [name] refused his invitation, he will not be able to contain his emotions, leading to a touching moment between the two of them. However, he will be left with a little disappointment and self-doubt, but at least the [name] is there to help him deal with it.
It's quite difficult to choose between these two options, I love angst and fluff omg

Heavy gray clouds obscured the sky, the trees and bushes were bending and whipping in the wind, rain was pouring down, splashing off the pavement. You peered out of the car window, you were resting your head on, observing rain droplets that slid down the window, listening to weather forecasters talking about the massive storm to come. You carefully observed the droplets, delicately choosing the one you thought would win. Silently, you cheered your drop on, but, alas, it was too slow.
You heard your parents talking in the front seat about the graduation you were attending. A military graduation to celebrate the recruits, your brother included, hard work and dedication through basic training. An outstanding achievement indeed. But something you had been dreading.
It wasn't because you weren't proud of your brother—no, no. It was because his best friend would be in attendance to watch him graduate. It might not seem so bad, but you had been secretly with him for four months and counting without anyone knowing. Though you hadn't really talked to him in a little over a month since he'd been doing some "top secret work," he would say, and service was terrible where he was.
"We're here!" Your mom chimed from the front seat, absolving you from your thoughts. You open the car door to immediately be met with raindrops falling onto your skin, offering you some sort of comfort.
You follow your parents closely as you all walk into the venue. Large tables covered in red satin tablecloths and large flower decorations were among the first things you saw. It was honestly quite beautiful. Flags hung slightly over the large arched windows, still giving you a view of the pouring rain outside.
You followed your parents to a table with a white nameplate in the middle with your last name on it. Taking your seat, you noticed a group of people hovering over the door you came in through, each greeting whoever came in. You tried to move your head to look at the person who walked in, but all the people obscured your view.
You sat with your hands in your lap, playing with the ring on your middle finger. "He's here, honey!" Your dad announced to your mom. You turned your head to see him waving to your parents, walking towards them. You hadn't seen him for a while, but, God, could he get your pulse to quicken just as fast as the first time you'd met.
He reached them, and your mom gave him a hug. "Were all those people greeting you?" she laughed out, playfully hitting his arm. "What can I say? I'm kind of a big deal around here," he joked as your dad brought him in for a hug, too.
You slowly stood up. "Hi," you quietly said, suddenly feeling shy. He looked down at you, a smile tugging at his lips. "My, my, what do we have here? I can't believe you came." He chuckled, bringing his arms out to hug you. "It's my brother's graduation. Of course, I came." You laughed, wrapping your arms around him.
"Fuck. I missed your laugh." He quietly grunted near your ear before he let go. You felt hot goosebumps travel down your arm at the roughness of his voice. You heard a female voice call your boyfriend’s name behind you; you turned to see a pretty brunette waving her hand in the air. The sight made your stomach drop. He nodded to her. "Scuse' me." He politely said, gently touching your mom's arm.
He noticed your soured expression, which you didn't realize you were making. He let out a soft laugh before pulling out his phone, pointing to it to signal you to take your phone out. You quickly pulled out your phone as he walked away, typing on his.
Peabrain: She's the captain's daughter. You're the only woman for me. Got that?
Me: good because i thought i was going to have to kick someone's ass. mostly yours though.
Peabrain: Ouch, baby.
Peabrain: I would never do that to you. Your brother would fucking kill me if I did.
Me: i would fucking kill you if you did.
Peabrain: I know. My tough girl.
You felt yourself heat up at the sentiment. "Is everything okay, honey?" your dad questioned. You quickly looked up to meet his worried expression. "Huh? Oh, ya, just a little hot." You picked up one of the graduate pamphlets lying on the table and fanned your face with it, silently cursing your boyfriend for getting you all hot and bothered.
❀・。.。* ❀ *。.。·* ❀ *·。.。* ❀ *·。.。* ❀ *。.
The ceremony had been going on for about an hour, and there was definitely at least one more hour left. Though your brother had already crossed the stage, you had to stay and wait for the other graduates to walk.
You noticed your boyfriend sitting beside some other military personnel in the front. God, he was so hot. His hair was slightly messy from running his hand through it too many times. He was in a tuxedo with a red tie, and his legs were spread pretty wide, giving you a nice view between his legs. You looked up at his face to see his eyes were focused on you, a cocky smirk on his lips. Your eyes widened as you shifted your attention to the graduates walking across the stage.
You felt your phone vibrate in your pocket, so you discretely reached for it and looked at it under the table.
Peabrain: Meet me in the bathroom.
Me: ya right.
Peabrain: Bathroom. You, Me. Now.
Me: i'm not listening. blah blah blah.
Peabrain: I will drag you in there.
Me: you wouldn't.
Peabrain: Oh, trust me, I would.
Me: fine. you're so needy.
Peabrain: You have no fucking idea.
So, that's how you ended up sitting on the sink of a cramped bathroom. "This fucking dress." Your boyfriend purred, gently pooling the fabric up around your waist. He connected his mouth to your neck. "What do you have against my dress?" You questioned, bringing your hand up to thread through his hair.
He brought his lips to kiss along your jaw until he reached your lips. "It's short. I could see your thighs when you sat down." He groaned into your lips. "Why were you looking that low?" You whispered, tone dripping with seducation. He didn't answer; he just grabbed the back of your head and pushed your lips onto his.
As you were kissing, his hand dropped to graze your lower thigh, slowly going higher and higher until he was grazing your cunt over your underwear. You let out a soft moan before pulling away slightly.
"We shouldn't be doing this here." You breathe out, lightly massaging the back of his head with your fingers.
"No, I agree. This is just despicable behavior." He stated as he slipped his hand under your underwear to draw soft circles over your dripping cunt. "Just despicable," he breathed into your ear. You let out a moan as you pull your hands out of his hair to grip his shoulders. "I mean, anyone could walk in." He said as he leaned closer, his lips hovering over your ear. "They could see my fingers in you." He whispered as his finger slipped inside you. "Fuck." You choked out, gripping him tighter.
"See you begging me for more." He lightly nipped your ear, carefully pumping his fingers in and out of you, grazing your sweet spot. You quickly connected your lips again, his tongue battling yours. You jump a little at the sound of a ding from your phone.
"Leave it." He said, gripping your jaw to bring your lips back to his. You nodded and continued kissing him. His fingers are now pumping a little quicker in you—another ding. You groan. "Let me just check real quick." He groaned and begrudgingly pulled his fingers out of you.
Stinky: Hey, sis! Where’d you go?
Stinky: The ceremony ended early. Mom and Dad want to grab some dinner. Food sucks here.
Me: hey! went to the bathroom rq. be right there!
He peered into the mirror to see who was taking your gaze.
"Mmh. Should we tell em' ?" He sarcastically said as he threaded his fingers through your hair. "You're an asshole." You roll your eyes as you carefully jump off the sink. You look up at him. "He could kick your ass, you know?" You matter-of-factly say. "Something tells me I could take 'em,' " He plainly states, wrapping his hands around your waist.
"You wanna come eat with us?" You question, raising your hands to gesture for him to bend down. He obliges as you bring your hand up to fix his hair. "Mhm. Are we gonna sneak away to the bathroom during dinner?" He questions, with a smirk.
You pull your hands down and rub them over his chest. "Ya.. and I'll even let you finger me under the table." You seductively say.
"Really?" His eyes brighten.
"No. Not really." You drop your hands as you let out a laugh.
"You're a cruel woman." He pouts.
"Fine. Maybe I'll let you play footsies with me under the table." You say as you turn to fix your lipstick in the mirror.
"Deal." He instantly says, bringing a smile to your lips.

‧აsagittarius season tarot readings ໒ ‧₊˚
november 22 - december 21
⋆✴︎˚。⋆ 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒔 𓍢ִ˚*ੈ♡
These tarot readings are meant to give you some information about how the energy of this season is going to affect you. Sagittarius season usually comes with a big burst of energy, specially channeled in matters that relate deeply to the slightly more childlike side of our intellect. This season usually comes with an enhancement of curiosity, the need to explore and expand our horizons, but also the energy to do so. Let's check what are the positives and the negatives of this season for each sign.
don't forget to check your moon and rising signs' posts just in case

𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 ✦ 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 ✦ 𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐒
𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 & 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬
You are going to be in situations where sooner or later you will realize how easy it actually was to get out of them. There’s a lot of limitations being imposed onto you, and these are based on ideas and values that do not resonate with the person you actually are. During this season you will feel as if you are forced into conformity for the sake of others, almost suffocated by norms and expectations that are not relevant to your personal development, but they are useful to keep you in the places where you need to be. It seems as if this is the moment when you realize you don’t need to repeat the same cycles over and over again just because you are comfortable with the results, as the outcomes from these situations are not exactly fulfilling yet they are good enough to keep you wanting to try again just in case this next time it turns exactly the way you want.
𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Your need to move forward and go beyond what you already know is going to manifest in a way that could be too impulsive, there’s a chance that after an impulsive decision to change you will be faced with a feeling of uncertainty due to not knowing exactly for what or what it is that you are changing exactly. There’s going to be plenty of opportunities, plenty of new paths to follow, and way too many options for you to choose from. Don’t lose yourself in the anxiety and overwhelm from this, your intuition and your passionate nature will lead the way to the best possible journey.
𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞
During this season it is possible that you are faced with the possibility to explore and reset your actual journey, this is something that will manifest rapidly and it’s very likely there’s not much from this time that will stick with you for the long run. But, I think it could be beneficial to go along certain impulses if you’re willing to figure out what exactly did that impulse try to communicate to you. There’s plenty of self imposed values and ideals that do not exactly belong to you, and plenty of needs stemming from them that are not yours. It wouldn't be too bad if you let go of a few imposed structures. This moment in time will provide you with opportunities to learn by experiencing the world in the way you are meant to, even if everything seems uncertain and unstable, you have nothing to fear about having to adjust to chaotic changes instead of having to adjust to a forced monotony.
˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚ 𝙻𝚎𝚘 {𝙹𝚞𝚕𝟸𝟹–𝙰𝚞𝚐𝟸𝟸}

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐄 ✦ 𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐒 ✦ 𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐊𝐒
𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 & 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬
This season is coming with plenty of abundance. You might feel as if it is a matter of luck, but in reality things are going your way because you are going your way. This moment in your life is meant to test your ability to stay in your lane and care for the things you have achieved at this point of your journey. It’s very likely you are now beginning to understand how much power you have over your own joy and your own prosperity, and this season will provide you with opportunities to learn how to navigate uncertainty and how responsibilities are not meant to be limiting, but more so a key part in your exploration of what independence actually is. You will become more aware of how you need a certain amount of order and limitations to fully embrace your individual essence, as these responsibilities are what keep you motivated to grow.
𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
There’s going to be plenty of satisfactory outcomes for you this season, which don’t involve being overly proud or overly confident, they have the potential to lead to new ambitions that might conflict with your comfort in living a pretty individualistic life . Your accomplishments will demand you to rethink your path and your long term objectives, as you are now committed in ways that at times might feel overwhelming. You are going to get a lot of what you always desired, but it will take you some time to get used to it, and to be properly grateful about this new life.
𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞
You will no longer feel alone or alienated, instead, you will take a lot of the protagonism in both new and old spaces where you might have felt left aside. People are catching up on how good you’re doing, and your creative energy is quite contagious. The current season usually feels overly unstable and uncertainty is riddling everyone, but you are actually in a pretty good moment in your life. Keep your priorities straight even if you choose to go out of your way to help others. You definitely understand the importance of generosity, but don’t let it come from your ego. Be mindful of how you present to others and be ready to deal with jealousy.

𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 & 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬
This is your season, and it shows. Your creative energy and your wisdom will allow you to fully be in charge of the type of experiences you want to contribute to your personal growth. Maybe right now it's not the best time to seek out the life changing events, but instead it would be just as nourishing to your intellect and your soul to open up for the life changing people who will most likely show up to you this season. You will inspire and be inspired in ways that are unexpected, and also by facing challenges alongside people who share your values and ideals. Right now it is key that you don’t look for validation by asserting your position in any kind of hierarchical way, but instead by allowing your individuality to be the main source of power and drive to further allow your virtues to show themselves naturally.
𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
In plenty of situations you will be challenged to find the balance between community and individuality, especially when it comes to conflict that's caused by miscommunication or an illusion of order breaking apart. This season will provide you with opportunities to learn how the greater good is just as necessary as your own wellbeing, and how you should be in spaces where your ideals and values are shared. You are not meant to submit to anything, but instead you are meant to cooperate in a way that's honest and genuine to your essence as a person.
𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞
There's going to be a lot to overcome, both in the material sense as in the more existential and emotional senses. You are beginning to find confidence within yourself, and your journey is becoming more and more complex, this brings out plenty of conflictive energies into your life, yet not all of them are meant to be seen as a mere inconvenience, some of them are actually necessary obstacles to overcome for you to go as far as you want to go in life. Although at the moment you could be feeling limited by an unfair power dynamic or by a restrictive sense of order, you have the capabilities to work out a way around most things in your life. It is very important that you don’t shy away from facing the adversities in your path as they will follow you if you don't solve them.

Chap 429 made me realize I can't stand Class 1A anymore, I like individual students like Tokoyami but as a whole I can't stand them. Their bond is so artificial especially when none of them gave any concern about Izuku's well-being throughout the first year and took Bakuhoe's word immediately. Plus, they are mostly flakes riding off of Izuku's heroism and hard work during the Villain Hunt arc. None of them doing were jackshit about the criminals including "Symbol of Victory" Bakuturd until they remember that Izuku exists. The fact that Hori never lets the students addresses or think about Izuku's quirkless nature after the OFA reveal is something I will never forgive Hori for.
Hori tries so hard to glaze them as this unbreakable team of heroes, but he cheats using plot armor and plot contrivances to make his point seem valid but most of these kids would be dead if the villains were allowed to kill them instead of Hori holding them back with puppet strings. I hate to sound deranged but if some of the students had actually died during the first battle then I could see 1-A actually building a bond and realizing how precious life is and the dangers of being a hero then their concern for Izuku's well-being would seem more valid after all of the other crap they were ignoring about.
Lastly, I hate that damn poem that Hori claims was the inspiration for Deku because it feels like an excuse to justify his narrative abuse of Izuku and deny him any moment of confidence or pride in his achievements. This was supposed to be the story of the Greatest Hero not Class 1-A nobodies. Meanwhile he is too busy celebrating Bakuhoe's moments for during the bare minimum and fans on reddit and elsewhere eat up like its pure cinema or something.
Fair enough it's not that I actually hate class 1A but for some reason I can't simply believe that their dynamic is one of a little happy found family. I just can't and its probably because there's too many characters and we don't get the screentime needed for them to develop such a dynamic.
That is to say I don't hate class 1A like I love the individual characters like tokoyami, iida, jiro and I even love the little groups they have or at least the potential that was in those groups and dynamics.
It doesn't help that it's class 1A that gets the whole we are all heroes thing and the whole we will be there for you Izuku in the vigilante arc. I don't know it falls flat and becomes underwhelming simply because their dynamic isn't well built neither is it well developed. Also them saying they care for izuku seems like it's quite difficult to believe considering that we haven't seen them voice concerns over Izuku's injuries or even visit him during the first war arc when he was in a coma but maybe that's me saying too much because they were in a war and everyone was busy with stuff and trauma.
When it comes to the whole thing with bakugo I personally think that he was supposed to be a minor character for izuku to surpass but him being Izuku's symbol of victory and all of that shows us exactly that izuku hasn't DEVELOPED AT ALL IN THE SERIES!! izuku has continually been an incredibly static character and the ending shows that. Izuku still thought of OFA as a gift from all might instead of his own quirk, he literally never understood the wrongs of the hero system and he never stops viewing all might as this big hero who does so much. Like ugh this could of been things that izuku develops from and becomes a better person but I guess not.
Realistically many 1A members should either be
1) expelled (how is mineta and bakugo still there)
2) dropped out (Iam sorry you're telling me all of these kids parents let them contribute in this bs like are your parents that bad)
3) dead (you're telling me in a field of naive and not properly trained first years none of them have died really?!?!)
These factors would definitely make 1A closer to eachother and would show that they would care a lot more because of what they experienced and what they might blame themselves for what happend previously and it would be realistic/make sense within the series.
Also less 1A members would show just how competitive and tiring the hero course can be (proving aizawas words right) and it would also make the characters big moments that hori gave them have more actual suspense and impact within the narrative and plot.
I have mixed feelings about the poem and the post "the uselessness of izuku midoriya" while I do think it's a good post that shines a different perspective onto things Iam also just not a fan of the concept. I suppose it's because I don't think MHA was built in a way where it's story is a tragedy, like I don't believe tragedy suits the plot of MHA especially when it's not being treated as one.
However, I do think that it could be used as something that izuku starts with at the beginning and then develops into something much more. I think that having izuku choose the name deku and then developing into the name deriku would be fitting just how I would of liked for him to develop from someone whose acknowledgements and influence aren't recognised to someone whose achievements are recognised but not overly praised or anything of the sort something like having him be somewhat of a myth someone whose influence is known but works in the shadows (not literally) but he isn't directly known and isn't like all might. Ugh I don't know how to word it but I hope you understand. I suppose the closest example I can think of is Kim dojka (minus the angst)
(for context this is the poem I assume you're talking about)

Edit
I suppose this maybe better phrasing to what I was trying to say last paragraph.👇

Tami walks past Maia in the hallway.
Tambara: Bye, mommy! It's time for school.
Maia: See you later, Tadpole!
Maia's smile fades as Tami disappears out of the front door. The more challenging part of losing her father is over, but Maia isn't feeling any better. Instead, her emotions have compounded into new fears and worries. During one of her last conversations with him**, he warned her that if she keeps putting off her plans, she'll soon be too old to pursue them. And she knows he's right. It's been years since she's accomplished anything. She recalls the pride on her father's face when he came to her frog museum exhibit in Brindleton Bay**. She believed it was just the start of the fantastic things she would achieve in her lifetime. But those beliefs have since faded. Her best days will remain behind her unless she does something about it now.
Maia walks over to the computer to search for a new freelance job.
I've edited and uploaded my newest video and can see my goals laid out in front of me as I check them off one by one. But a big one on my bucket list is still waiting to be addressed. And I'd need Maia to help it come true. I leave my office to find her and see her sitting at the computer desk in the foyer.
Wade: Hey, babe. Are you busy?
Maia: I was looking at a few freelance gigs, but I have a minute.
I sit down in the chair nearest the desk.
Wade: There was something that I've wanted to talk to you about for a while, but it never seemed like the right time. And maybe this isn't a good time either, but we've experienced so much loss lately that I thought maybe…
I realize that I'm rambling, partially because I'm afraid of what she might say... and I'm terrified of things going wrong between us again.
Wade: You know what... I can save it for another time.
Maia: No, it's okay. What do you want to talk about?
It's now or never. There's no room for rambling. I blurt it out.
Wade: How would you feel about us having another baby?
