I don't know how everyone isn't also always constantly thinking about how burial rites seem to be potentially one of the few things Siffrin instinctively remembers about their culture. But rest assured. I am in fact always thinking about it.

I can’t stop thinking about Loop. Imagine doing everything, anything, to get out of a traumatic situation but the price is you. Your body is gone, your name is gone, your family doesn’t recognize you, you feel like most of your memories of them are gone too anyway. Suddenly you’re denied your identity. It’s like YOU never existed… and someone else took your place. You, whose biggest fears are forgetting and being forgotten in turn. You, who’s hesitant to change and now you’re forced to. You can’t even really blame anyone else because you did get your wish, right?

It’s explained clearly in the game, but the implications of it just hit me extra hard sometimes. Siffrin is as much of a study of Loop as Loop is of Siffrin. They share(d) their fears too so mal du pays words essentially becoming the truth to Loop is just… 🪨🪨🪨🙁🙁🙁💥💥💥💥

What do you do when all you have is ripped from you, all your worst fears come true, and youre forced to just… come to terms with it?

where are the fics/stories of everyone minus siffrin coming to terms with all the stuff they didn’t get to experience from their friend quests.

where’s all the conversations with mira about how she still feels inadequate in her belief becuase shes been told that she’s going to be alone forever, even if that wasn’t the intention?

where’s all the deep dives into isabeau and his self doubt issues that lead him to wonder if he has to Change again to better fit how his family sees him now?

where’s the tension between odile and the group because one side her biological family was never there for her and she doesn’t want to follow in those footsteps and latch onto something that might not last.

where’s the anger filled outbursts with bonnie and the rest of their family because everything is sugar coated towards them and they can’t help anybody if they don’t know what’s going on?

and where’s the moments where everyone has to realize that just because siffrin’s come to terms with all these facts and nuances about them and their lives doesn’t mean they have.

okay so the wife dropped a glorious stobotnik idea in my lap:

time loop stobotnik but the movies take place well into the loops. like s1 sees stone on his 40th loop. he’s so outwardly fond and loving towards a robotnik who very much ISN’T because he’s lived this so many times and has become more or less immune to his eccentricities and cruelties, leaving only an overwhelming affection for his neuroses. stone has long accepted that his life is, for whatever reason, inescapably tied to robotnik’s. if he dies, it’s game over for both of them, start back at the beginning: his first day on the job.

( important note: this is not a perfect “scripted” loop. predictability varies— stone knows what and when and where robotnik wants, but this approach causes unprompted and unexpected changes in every robotnik, who hates being predictable and will actively try to throw stone for a loop (ha). )

i am soooo infatuated with time loop fics and this is getting added to the docket right underneath the stone whump that i keep getting ideas for
