Hi Bard! I've been curious about your thoughts on what kinds of gifts would Daruk/Yunobo give their sweethearts?

Between the both of them? Anything with a Goron ruby lol. It's the pride and joy gem of their people so of course they'd love to see you in it. A headpiece, an armband, a bracelet, anklet, earrings: you name it. But be forewarned: if you accept a Goron ruby from them - this begins the plot for them to start designing your engagement piece 🤭 (mostly because they see how much you love it and they are over the moon at how stunning you look in it).

Now for Daruk specifically - he has always pegged me as someone good with his hands. He's strong, hard working. I think he'd prefer to make you something if he can help it. So say you mention wanting some pots for your garden - he'll make you some from a mixture of lava ash and hot spring water to make these beautiful vermillion clay pots that you can use for planting! Or perhaps you'd like a new fireproof outfit - not a problem. He's consulting Urbosa right away on how to make these things for you (though admittedly he will probably not be the best at sewing and will instead hand over fireproof linens and an idea of what you'd like to wear to one of Urbosa's trusted seamstresses and have them made for you). He likes to think practically, give you things you'll use or can have for a long period of time.

That's not to say Yunobo won't do the same! However, this gentlegoron pays a little more attention to the details. He tends to notice when the types of foods you enjoy or what colors you feel look best on you. While he too doesn't mind having things made for you, he also knows where the expertise lies. So if it's something like an extremely fluffy quilt that you're looking for - he's sending a message to Teba right away and seeing if Misa is able to whip something up over at the Slippery Falcon. Maybe flowers are more your thing - no worries, there are plenty of beautiful flora in Lurelin Village and Ramella thankfully knows Flavi down there very well so she hooks him up with a bouquet of some of the most beautiful petaled pieces you've ever seen!

But then again...some gifts are not always material. Both of these Goron men are very much the type to be crazy about you. So quality time and physical affection are on the menu too. Though not "gifts" in a traditional sense - they fill you (and him!) with the same satisfaction and adoration. Being present with your rockbae and just being held by him, kissed by him, loved by him is a gift in itself, no?

she's singing in another room and my dog is asleep at my feet. my grandma asked me why i haven't found a man yet and i laughed. oh, you know. i like my house clean.

my lover and i dance to old music in a tiny kitchen. we judge new music together and take food critique very seriously. we watch love is blind before we fall asleep and agree that if they had a queer season, it would be bloody but also make for excellent tv. of fucking course queer people would know someone for only 2 weeks and agree to get married. what are you saying.

at a bar with friends, a man puts his hand on my wrist. got a boyfriend? and yes, i do have a boyfriend, she's amazing. i am texting her while i wander around a gas station named after geese. i am visiting a swing state for a wedding. in the candy aisle i overhear: she's actually like a lesbian it's disgusting. two teenage girls with packaged sandwiches in their hands, giggling. no literally, like. i'm not, like. okay with her being there while we're all, like, naked and changing.

my girlfriend and i tailgate, drink gin and cider out of cups. from the frat group beside us, a man corrects himself with one of his friends: bro, i mean, nonbinary entity, and it makes everyone around him laugh, myself included. he razzes his friend the same way i would have killed for at 19 years old - like nothing happened, he continues: you apply sunscreen like an alien. he does a little sassy (and fairly accurate) dance interpretation of the motion. his friend is laughing so hard they're crying.

i am lucky, i live in a safe neighborhood in a safe state. my masc passenger princess comes up from DC. i drive her for an hour to where all the leaves are a violent arrangement of color. we walk along the trails, letting autumn into our blood. in this part of the state, there's a lot of pickup trucks and trump signs. when we chastely kiss before getting into the car, i accidentally make eye contact with a woman holding her child's wrist. she looks disgusted. she looks fucking pissed.

two hours later my girl and i are eating dinner on a patio, soaking in the last warmth of new england sun before the chill of winter sets in. we are giggling and trying to talk through plastic vampire teeth. at another table, i see a young woman sit up straighter. i watch her watch us. she blushes and takes her partner's hand from across the table. shy, like the taste of evening has just become something deeper.

it's worth it for this moment, i think. my lover is still humming the same song she's been singing for four days straight and i don't want to kill her for it. her guitar is beside my bed. her toothbrush is in my bathroom. in a few moments i will make us lunch. we are lucky enough to have found each other. it is lucky enough to be in love.

Try not to think about Roomies’ unique quirks in showing affection.

How Etho is bit awkward in showing it but craves physical touch, discovers that forehead touches work for him. And both Cleo and Grian recognise it and put an effort to reciprocate it.

How Grian wants to do things to show his appreciation for his team, it coming out with him bringing trinkets or spending quality time with his loved ones. How both Cleo and Etho accept his need to feel wanted and make sure to always have some physical reminder from their beloved avian.

How Cleo likes to see her boys happy. How sometimes to make it happen, they would manhandle them in the most playful way, with some extra forehead kisses to sweeten the deal.
