I have a friend who played ISAT recently and they finished in thirty-six loops.
Thirty-six.
36.
I have
No idea how
They completed the entire game in 36 loops
They got bad touch, they got sus, they got 2/3 go throughs after friend quests, they got so many of the side quests if not almost all and they finished in THIRTY. SIX. LOOPS.
I have no idea how often they died to sadnesses or anything, assuming none.
I don’t even know how the hell they did that in general because you would assume the entire game is more than thirty-six loops, yet they did that and MORE in less?
They didn’t get the loop dagger scene though. Because siffrin didn’t get to that point before they went into act five (or whatever the cutoff for getting that scene is)
Because they didn’t reach the qualifications for it
And each time they died they went back to Dormont and spoke to loop, so they ran through the entire house ever loop
And completed the game
IN THIRTY-SIX LOOPS.
They didn’t even have memory of self on.
I’m so confused
I’m so intrigued
I’m so awestruck
I’m so impressed
I’m so C O N F U S E D
I am considering tagging insertdisc5 but I don’t want to bother them with my intrigue on how this happened
Cause it is just genuinely intriguing
how…how did you get through in such few loops…and get so much completion…
THIRTY SIX
Anyway
It’s 04:58 good night
Maybe
#in stars and time#isat#isat siffrin#confused#how the fuck#insertdisc5#guys seriously what is the fewest loops you’ve completed in#I kept track as I played#we finished in 104 siffrin-counted loops#55 genuine loops#and what should be well over 56 genuine loops including partials (eg: bad touch)#I stopped counting during act 5#I went through the two doors to the secret library way too many times#I liked the sound#and I enjoyed the repitition#but I lost count :(#anyway THIRTY SIX LOOPS-

OC name meanings
Thanks for the tag @elveny!
Rules: Search and post the meaning of your OC’s name (if you made their name up or they go by a nickname, post an explanation of how it came to you)! bonus if you can find something for their last name too.
Maybe talking about my OCs will get me to write? 🤷🏻♀️
Ophelia (Ophelie) Lydia Asherson:
She goes by “Ophelie” in the text but her given name is actually Ophelia, because her dad is a professor of western literature and also a nerd. According to google, Ophelia is a Greek girl's name meaning "help," "aid," or "advantage.” didn’t know it had greek origins, but that makes sense. In a more meta sense it was chosen because of its connection to Shakespeare (talked about in text actually.) her looks have changed over the long, long years, but her name has always been Ophelie.
I like the idea that she starts to go by the French variation of her name as a slight way to protest her namesake’s fate. Lydia also has greek origins, but notably it’s a common name in Hawaii because that was the queen of Hawaii’s English name. And it’s Oph’s mother’s name.
Rowan Kosta Hartley:
Rowan is Irish for “red-haired” and is also the name of a tree. I always liked this name and thought it sounded masculine and weighty. I also like the “earthy” connection to the name. Kosta (or Kostas) comes from the Greek meaning "steady or stable" which is actually perfect for him. Canonically he's named after the father he never met--which was actually "Kostas." he spoke little English however and the intricacies of Greek male naming conventions were lost in translation, so his mother just refers to him as "Kosta."
"Hartley" is a stage name (his mother's now his) and it doesn't have any interesting meanings, but I do like the fact that "heart" is literally in the name, fitting. It was also the actress Vivien Leigh's real last name, and the two are based off of Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier.
these names flew into my head 11 years ago, and at this point in my life they're about as normal to me as my own name or my best friend's name. Ophelie was actually conceived as French (and it was actuallly Ophelie,) but here we are.
tagging @thevikingwoman @myreia @fiannans @alyssalenko and anyone else!
#tagged#l like the idea rowan's dad told his mom when he met call me kosta#instead of kostas because you drop the s when speaking to them directly#but greek grammar conventions being lost in translation#anyway greek lessons from a lady who can only say thank you in greek#asherson is a placeholder name tbh#Rowan’s name was always Rowan Hartley#I liked the sound

i think we should remind musicians they can absolutely make up little stories for their songs btw. it doesn’t have to be about them at all. you can invent a guy and put him in situations to music. time honoured tradition in fact.
#sorry im bored of the same tags on this lmao#sometimes i think the confessional style loses impact because everything has to be excavated from the depths of the soul#and somehow. confessional writing seems to be going with the most disaffected bland sound possible. odd.#i love deeply personal songs! i love when songs sound like they mean something to the artist!#something something wider issue of mining trauma and being performatively vulnerable for quote unquote content#idk i don’t have the actual knowledge to write about this well there’s just something not landing for me recently#mine

yknow i never noticed the sheer rareness of images having ids or alt text on this website until i started adding alt text to my art (and trying to remember to add it to any images i post in general, especially text screenshots) and that makes me kinda sad
#i used to be pretty intimidated by the idea of having to describe my art but. it isnt as hard as it sounds#i just treat it like im describing an image i dont have at the time really#plus ive been told that even a simple id is better than no id#lev.txt

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.
#like majority of the time kids are not just 'being naughty'. they have big feelings inside little bodies it's a lot#also like.#it should be illegal to dye your hair fun colours if you aren't prepared for kids in public to ask if youre related to a my little pony#EDIT: the notes on this post are an absolute cesspool. i don't care about your reasons for hating kids you sound like a disney villain

My biggest tip for fanfic writers is this: if you get a character's mannerisms and speech pattern down, you can make them do pretty much whatever you want and it'll feel in character.
Logic: Characters, just like real people, are mallable. There is typically very little that's so truly, heinously out of character that you absolutely cannot make it work under any circumstance. In addition, most fans are also willing to accept characterization stretches if it makes the fic work. Yeah, we all know the villain and the hero wouldn't cuddle for warmth in canon. But if they did do that, how would they do it?
What counts is often not so much 'would the character do this?' and more 'if the character did do this, how would they do it?' If you get 'how' part right, your readers will probably be willing to buy the rest, because it will still feel like their favourite character. But if it doesn't feel like the character anymore, why are they even reading the fic?
Worry less about whether a character would do something, and more about how they'd sound while doing it.
#I have a bit of a problem with giving everyone the same speech patterns but on god I try#Bc genuinely. This is the no. 1 most important thing while writing fanfic#If you can make a character sound like they would say that it doesn't matter if they actually would#My posts#Writing wise

When I was a kid one of my moms would call her period "moon time" or "her monthlies" or shit like that and my other mom straight up stealthed it, but when I'm a dad I think I'm gonna go straight down the middle and call it Werewolf Week. Like sorry kids, dad can't roughouse right now, it's Werewolf Week
#Plus my sense of smell always goes crazy like a couple days prior#So#I feel like I could really lean into the mythos#They'll get the talk of course but Werewolf Week sounds way cooler than Lady Time or whatever the fuck

i'll let phie-san say it:
#the vids i've seen on tiktok picking at her immediately get a block...#bitter otaku sitting in their socks in their mom's basement feeling threatened/enraged by a hot successful black woman outnerding them-core#also this kind of criticism is so demoralising and damaging to people who are trying to learn another language#also. accents are NORMAL and not a bad thing#i don't think that the end goal of picking up a new language necessarily has to be sounding native#and i know sometimes the way japanese people react like SUGOIII? *W* when a foreigner says like one (1) word in japanese is joked about#but like... genuinely... i always love when someone clearly has made an effort and took the time to learn some of the language#anyway she can step on those haters <3#also like. it’s just some lines in a song people need to relax…#megan thee stallion#autoplay warning#japan#japanese#language#mamushi

Funny things I found out playing with language setting in Netflix while looking episode 15:
Chilchuck's scream sounds HAUNTED in brazilian portuguese. Give it a try if you can.
(You can hear it here)
In spanish dub, Senshi says: "tocó mis senos de hombre", which means "he touched my man boobs" in Spanish. And I think that's the best dub line one so far.
#i love replaying certain scenes (usually screams) to see how they nailed it in other dubs#ive done it with Chilchuck & Mickbell screams because they're the funniest ones#give it a shot if you can#its really funny to hear certain character voices in other languages#for example. brazilian portuguesse gave both mickbell and chilchuck un-childlike voices (in japaneese both sound like little childs)#and they reused Chilchuck's japaneese screams for most of the other languages because he is so high-pitched and full of terror that it work#dungeon meshi#chilchuck#chilchuck tims#dunmeshi#delicious in dungeon#senshi#senshi of izganda#senshi dungeon meshi#idk how do you people screen record the episodes#if i knew how to i would put the shots here#my shit#thanks to the one that made the clip on Chil's scream im in love here <3

not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram
the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis
#this sounds like a 'argh kids these days doing [insert exaggerated story they don't actually do in reality]' kind of thing#except that I've gotten soooo many emails like this#there's a reason that I don't have my DMs open on any socmed and it's bc they attract people getting way too casual/parasocial immediately#and forcing people to write out an email both filters out 90% of weird impulse messages and also throws them out of that casual headspace#except that I can actively tell when this fails and someone is treating emails as if they're the same thing as DMs

Listen man, you guys can't be like "you guys need to be normal about asexuality" and then turn around and get weirdly judgemental when you find out someone doesn't have sex by choice. Like that's weird that some of you do that.
#like I love sex im glad we're hyping it up#but also genuinely some of you have got to learn how to be normal around people who dont want to have sex#even if you're not talking about asexuality when you say stuff like that you're still being a weirdass#im not ace myself but i keep seeing posts that come across like they're taking it personally that other people don't want to have sex#it sounds like theyre trying to prove something to someone
