I wanna name two of dumbest reasons why ppl hate BL Imo. Unrealistic sex: Oh you fucking mean like 90% of all the romance and smut novels? Weird sex isn't anything special, come back to me when you've read those old Granny romance smuts with Fabio's Butter on the cover. Sex/Fetishism: I feel like this one is super dishonest tbh. It makes it seem like people only read BL for the sex, and to sexualize male couples. It's like the main attack point and it's so stupid. Yeah there's no smut here this almost 2000 page novel with zero smut... because you wanna read smut... yeah checks out. Or it's not even a main selling point of the novels, but clearly you're reading this 5 book plot heavy story, with 800+ pages just for those 10 pages of smut somewhere. Yeah that makes sense. Let me be frank, how many people do only read the BL for the sex? I mean genre unspecified. Unless it's a clear smut story I often view the sex portrayed as the same tool as characters kissing or holding hands, it happens, it's there, it better payoff for the characters in some plot/character growth relevant way. In recent years the biggest BL novels I noticed were all plot heavy and smut/sex was either a part of the plot, or didn't even exist. And that's only in books, the adaptions had ZERO sex and people still went crazy for the story, before they even knew it was BL. (You fucking know which books/adaptions I'm talking about.) Yeah there are pure smut novels, but then we're also right back at the point in the prior point: It ain't anything special that horny shit exists. It's not a sin or bad that horny shit exists either, I'm just pointing out how stupid it is to boil down an entire genre to "rabid horny women wanting to see dudes smashing dicks" when so many BL stories who get more mainstream popular don't focus on sex, instead having a solid plot and interesting characters.

Dialtown characters and the Greek Gods I think suit them best!!!

As a Hellenic Polytheist, I'm doin this based purely on the vibes of DT characters. Not the Gods they'd worship if I thought they followed the same religion I do, and not the Gods I think they'd be if they were the deities themselves. Just the Gods I kinda associate with them, I suppose.

I'm doin this with the utmost respect to the Gods first and foremost. Keep in mind that this is just for fun, and any disrespectful comments towards my religion will be deleted. If you have any DT characters that I haven't listed that you'd like me to "assign" a God, so to speak: ask in comments, reblogs, my asks, whatever. And if you think you know any other Greek Gods that fit certain characters better, then please tell me who and your reason why!!! I'm very curious and I might update this with your choice instead =3

It's kinda hard to think of innocently mischievous and chaotic Gods that fit Gingi other than Dionysus tbh. I would say maybe Hermes, but you'll see who I chose for Him later down the line. But even though Gingi is whatever the player chooses it to be, it's usually seen as chaotic, yet it means well. I feel like it just fits Dionysus.

Oliver Swift - Eros/Erôs/Ερως

"God of love and sexual desire."

It's honestly really hard to find a God for Oliver since he's so passionate about so many things, but since he loves so many things, why not associate him with the God of love? Like I said, there's obviously way more to him, but I feel like Eros fits him well because love comes in many forms, and his love for not only his friends but his hobbies and family is such an important part of him that I can't think of any other God to fit him better.

Randy Jade - Eris/Ερις

"Goddess of strife, discord, contention and rivalry."

(I'm a transfem Randy truther so she/her pronouns for her)

I know durin Chapter 3, Randy is doin better and she ain't so anxious and worried all the time, but that doesn't exactly go away so easily. Trauma sticks and all. And while I'm aware Eris is more malicious, I'm aware Randy can be rather malicious too. I mean, most of us know the endin where she goes off the deep end and tries to destroy Madame Mediocre. I feel like also because discord and strife followed her so often throughout the first two chapters that she's just kinda forever associated with it.

Karen Dunn - Athena/Athênê/Αθηνη

"Goddess of wisdom and good counsel, war, the defence of towns, heroic endeavour, weaving, pottery and various other crafts."

Honestly I feel like Athena fits Karen so well. As a follower of Lady Athena myself, I feel as though the two are very similar, especially in the passion for crafts. Like, Karen is smart and she can put up a fight if you piss her off, but she's also an artist and good at it too. Ya see where I'm comin from?

Bigfoot - ???

Unfortunately, because Bigfoot kinda doesn't have much of a perceived personality, at least in my opinion, I kinda can't associate a Greek God with it. I don't really know it's personality, morals, etc outside of the very vague traits we get in game. So sorry!!!

Sgt. Norm Allen - Zeus/Ζευς

"King of the Gods and God of the sky, weather, law and order, destiny and fate, and kingship."

Despite Zeus' bad reputation amongst people nowadays, I feel like He fits Norm quite a bit. Norm has a strong sense of justice, he cares a lot about law and order, and he's got that authoritative air about him that makes you kinda automatically respect him I guess.

Roger Jones - Apollon/Apollo/Apollôn/Απολλων

"God of prophecy and oracles, music, song and poetry, archery, healing, plague and disease, and the protection of the young."

It's kinda difficult for me to associate a God with Roger since I haven't played the DLC and I don't know as much about his personality than I should. But I do feel like he gives Apollon vibes since Apollon is also associated with sunlight and I think Roger's just bright like that. He's a lively guy but I'm aware he has his issues too. I kinda associate his struggles with addiction to Apollon's plague and disease in a way.

Jerry Gould - Hermes/Hermês/Ἑρμης

"God of herds and flocks, travelers and hospitality, roads and trade, thievery and cunning, heralds and diplomacy, language and writing, athletic contests and gymnasiums, astronomy and astrology."

I feel as though Hermes fits Jerry cuz I mean, just look at what He's the God of. I originally was gonna put a gatekeeper type God, but Jerry isn't just a gatekeeper, and he's not one in Chapter 3. Maybe there's other Gods out there that fit him better, like ones more focused on herding, but I felt as though Hermes fit best.

Mayor Mingus Crown - Bia/Biê/Βια/Βιη

"Goddess of force, power, might, bodily strength and compulsion."

I was originally gonna choose Themis for Mingus cuz of Her ties to keepin tradition and Mingus' desire to keep Dialtown the same as it was back in Callum's time, but I just didn't think Mingus cares enough about justice and morality to fit Themis. So I associate her more with Bia instead because of her power and such. I think She fits her the best.

Theoroar Rustlebelt - Kratos/Cratus/Κρατος

"God of strength, might, power and sovereign rule."

I'm sorry but this man is low-key kinda scary strong in a way that makes me automatically associate him with Kratos. He wrestles kangaroos for fucks sake. For FUN at this point. You know how fuckin strong and bulky those bastards are?? I won't take any criticism on this. He gives Kratos vibes.

Hobo/God - Eirene/Eirênê/Irene/Ειρηνη

"Goddess of peace and the season of spring."

I think Eirene fits the Hobo best cuz he's not very confrontational and I think he's just mainly chill and peaceful. He can get mean and defensive obviously as we've seen, but he doesn't seem like he likes to be that way. Not only that, but since he's like "God" and all that, and in Christianity, Jesus I think rose in spring, I can kinda make ties there too.

Abel Brannigan - Zelos/Zêlos/Zelus/Ζηλος

"God of rivalry, emulation, jealousy, envy and zeal."

Again, kinda difficult to associate a God with a character like this since I don't know his personality all too well. But I do know he gives very negative vibes. He feels like the envious type to me.

Little Billy - Ares/Arês/Αρης

"God of war, conflict, battlelust, courage and civil order."

Who other than Ares would fit the rage filled kid who terrorizes the town and craves bloodshed for no conceivable reason? I mean, c'mon, he's literally threatened to drag Gingi across glass shards before. I'm still kinda on the fence about this one since Ares is still the God of courage and civil order which ain't really fittin for Billy. But hey, not every single trait of the Gods have to fit.

Stabby & Shooty - Deimos/Deimus/Δειμος & Phobos/Phobus/Φοβος

"Gods of fear. Deimos represented terror and dread, while his brother Phobos was panic, flight and rout."

I think Deimos & Phobos fit Stabby & Shooty for a kinda silly reason. Not only are Stabby & Shooty sometimes seen as brothers by the fandom, but they're also kinda fearful and cowardly despite tryna be seen as the opposite. Tryna instill fear and panic in people with their presence.

Callum Crown - Hephaestus/Hêphaistos/Ἡφαιστος

"God of metalworking, building, artistry, fire, smiths, craftsmen, stonemasonry and sculpture."

(Genderfluid Callum truther so he/she/they/it/any pronouns for them)

I feel like because Callum built his own prosthetics to move around by herself outta whatever metal he could find, they give Hephaestus vibes to me. It's just strong and stubborn like that.

Milton Wallace - Heracles

"God of strength and heroic endeavour and the averter of evil."

It's kinda cheesy and cliché, but I associate Milton with Heracles cuz not only was he a war veteran and fought for his country, but he also had good morals. At least, better than Callum had anyway. I think he was a hero and highly respectable like Heracles was.

Marla Crown - Themis/Θεμις

"Goddess of divine law and order--the traditional rules of conduct first established by the gods, laws of justice and morality, such as the precepts of piety, the rules of hospitality, good governance, conduct of assembly, and pious offerings to the gods."

As well as a few other characters on this list, it's difficult to associate a Greek God with someone like Marla. She has no canonical voice lines, dialog, nothin. All we have is how she's been described and even then it ain't much to go offa. So this is subject to change if we get more info on her. But for now, I associate her with Themis cuz with her bein Callum's wife and all, I feel like she'd have a strong sense of justice and I'm sure she's stood up to him when it came up with The Dialup the first time. It's not just that of course, but it's difficult to explain when we don't have much on her in the first place. This is also pretty based on vibes remember.

I submitted an ask to @ghcstao3 about sleeptalking!Soap and somehow it ended up becoming a look at what I think the boys all laugh like. That post is here for anyone curious! Basically I just think that giving character to their laughs makes them so "normal" and as someone with a very bizarre laugh (more like 3 different types of laughs), it's nice to think they also have pretty weird ones.

Man's definitely doesn't laugh very readily. It's not that he doesn't have a sense of humor (we all know he does) it's just he's so hardened by all the shit he's been through his entire life, that laughing is hard for him. But once he does start laughing? Ugliest snort laugh you've ever heard. I feel like this man cackles. But not all the time. For the most part, he's got what most would consider a pretty normal laugh. But once you catch him in a good mood and get him to really laugh, that's when he starts cackling. I'm talking fairy tale witch level cackles here. One cannot help but laugh along with him when he gets like this. He's got his hand on his stomach, leaning back, slapping the person next to him, the whole shebang.

I refuse to believe this man doesn't wheeze when he laughs. It could just be that one time I saw an art of him as the "wheeze" meme but still. (i cannot find it again, please someone tell me I didn't just make this in my head) I feel like he's doubled over, wheezing to a point it's somewhat concerning. He also laughs pretty easily. He lets out little wheezes in between actual giggles or just straight up wheezes at a bad joke.

He lets out little chuckles for the most part, but when he actually starts genuinely laughing? It's a deep belly laugh punctuated by a few snorts as he tries to calm down. Like typical Dad laugh type. Definitely gets to the point while laughing like this that he starts coughing from laughing so hard.

He's got the high pitched stuff going on. Specifically, I think of these two specific Smii7y laughs at 1:45-1:56. Don't ask me why I think this is the type of laugh Alejandro has, but I just do. It's still pretty rare to hear him laugh like this, though. He's pretty good at not doing it, but sometimes, if he's delirious/drunk/in a good enough mood, he'll scare the shit out of everyone with one of these bad boys.

Rudy

Probably has the most normal laugh out of all of them tbh, but it's also the most contagious. Like, whatever type of laugh is the most contagious that isn't outrageous, it's his laugh. Something about the way he just so readily laughs is just such a refreshing thing to hear and it makes the people around him want to join in because, hey, ya know what? Life ain't so bad especially when Rudy laughs.

I think a lot of fandoms, especially nowadays, have a lot of genuinely bad people who really need help/therapy but see nothing wrong in what they do or just keep doing that, though they know it ain't okay. I started this because of Zhang Wanyi lmao the guy made Cang Xuan ADORABLE SOMEHOW AHHHH so yeah gotta watch it.

The ending was good it wasn't rushed they took almost a whole episode for it so quite good. Yu Jin / Yu Qi - THIS MAN WAS A SWEETHEART IN BOTH LIFETIMES ( timelines more like) also I don't think anyone believed for one second that he actually meant to kill her in the beginning. ain't no way someone would believe that lol. ( hopefully unless some ppl actually did which would be shocking) Best boi the man made sure no misunderstandings would come between them. fl did some pretty suspicious things but when he found out what did he do? Straight up went and asked her. LOVE THAT. ( take notes female leads of other dramas ahhhhh ASK instead of assuming) communication was great. His straightforward answers lmaooo to royal princess and cui mingyue man spoke facts without caring about their feelings. gorgeous there too. His answers always great lol. emperor edict to marry a trash villain and the love of his life? man is not having that. He almost went rip there but stuck to his plans of only marrying the one he liked. such a sweet guy. Him refusing to compromise reminds me of Xiao Chuhe ( blood of youth) a bit just in the way they say hell nah we doing what we want. Cui Xu - so basically what I got is that this dude was forced to marry the royal princess when his love was fls mom ( tragic for him rip) He warned royal princess that cui mingyue was not going to end well if she kept being a piece of trash ( he used nicer words but whataver) but none of those two listened to him lol. The best thing he did was try to kill the princess royal with wine ( why was he trying to kill himself sad) too bad he stopped her from drinking it. ( WHY WHY DID HE STOP )

ROyal Princess- insane person who thinks she is above everyone else lol. didn't stop her from being a terrible human being though all that power but no decency. spent her whole marriage thinking her husband met his previous lover secretly when that wasn't true wow. if she lacked that trust why force him to marry . ruined both of their happiness in the end. wasn't even a decent parent. spoilt and enabled her murderous daughter. Omg I had ANOTHER chaos theory dream!!!! Just last night! This time I was both IN it and I WATCHED it.

I dreamt that the real trailer came out, and I had lots of notifications from Tumblr that I didn't wanna open, cuz I had just seen that the trailer was released. So I went into Netflix, and searched "chaos theory", and I saw the trailer was right there. I got so excited, and clicked on it. I kind of saw a 'trailer' FOR the trailer, so I turned that off immediately, because I saw Kenji standing by a table talking to someone, and I saw what I think was Yaz and Sammy on a sitting thing behind him. I never saw their faces, cuz man I hate spoilers. But I did get so excited when I saw them (Kenji didn't look bad at all, y'all. He looked dope), but I went right into the full trailer.

I don't remember much what happened there. I think I saw Kenji again, and possibly Yaz and Sammy, all though they didn't rly look like themselves, but I did see it was them somehow. They were being their adorable selfs, though, so I ain't complaining nor wondering whether that was them or not, because I saw it was them. Just, how they were acting and how cute they are towards each other, it's impossible to miss it's them. Btw, here I was kind of in the dream. I was there, amongst them. That was cool lmao.

Then that dream was traded for another dream when I was walking in the desert with people I know irl, and we were doing tasks and stuff idk what that was tbh. But that is another story lol.

Also I've seen a couple of people saying the kitchen scene might be more in episode 5 where they will resolve their conflict there and like it make sense but dragging a buddie tension for two episodes doesn't seem really on brand with the show. Like unless it's the catastrophes episodes or the lawsuit (even then it was resolved very fast) they don't drag on tensions like this especially if we only have 10 episodes and buck and eddie aren't the only ones in the show. Also, I doubt Eddie would hold a grudge against buck cause of an accident happening on the basketball court even if some words are thrown out (it ain't worse than that groceries scene). What do you think?

Honestly, I think the loft scene is the last scene of 7x04, since we know Buck and Eddie are working together on 7x05 and the scene kinda feels like an end of episode scene? It could be that they are awkward and then Eddie shows up at the end of 7x05 to clear the air, but I'm guessing it is from 7x04. I'm guessing the progression might be hangar, station, basketball, Buck spiraling with Maddie, loft, unless the basketball is toward the end there, then maybe it would be more stuff happening in the middle, you end the episode with Buck spiraling on that other scene in the loft that he has the different outfit, then you start 7x05 with those other stills of the gym, that Buck is in his civilian clothes, they "clear the air", Eddie notices Buck is being weird and shows up at the end of the episode to fix things. I think it would all depend on how bad was the basketball thing, considering that still where Chim seems to be mad at Buck and there's an abandoned shoe that looks like the one Eddie is wearing and the way Eddie has the bandage in his hand on the still from the gym, they could drag it out a little bit but less in a sense of Eddie is holding it against Buck and more in a Buck is hiding from Eddie sense. I would like to see it be dragged out a little bit tbh, you have Buck spiraling on 7x04 and you have Eddie "spiraling" on 7x05? Especially since Marisol seems to be on 7x05 and there could be problems going on there too, we could get some interesting movements on the story if they dragged it out a little bit more. Even more with the way Oliver and Ryan keep saying that the friendship will persevere, I feel like making the conflict last 10 minutes in episode could be underwhelming? I mean, we know Buck and Eddie are best friends, but they also suck at talking about shit that matters, and Eddie might not understand what's going on for a while, or Buck might start avoiding Eddie because he's scared Eddie is gonna tell him to go away and he doesn't want to get left. There's a lot to explore in a possible conflict triggered by obvious jealousy and Buck's abandonment issues, and I think it would be fun if they did explore it, because it could be a way to get Buck and Eddie on a path where they start talking, and they really need to start talking lol.

Entrapta teaches Wrong Hordak how to wink and it's so cute. I also love that she explains what it means--because I'm sure she had to consciously learn it, too: "It signals unspoken intent behind my words. In this case, our mutual deception of the Horde. Now you try."

Also, note to self, Melog definitely understands human speech--they split up, Catra is told to stick with Entrapta and Melog (and Catra frowns at this, just barely) and Adora tells Melog to keep them safe and it does a little noise of affirmation. (wait is Melog a he or a she or a they?)(fan wiki says it's an it but dang I feel weird using "it")

Okay so the scene where Glimmer, Adora, and Bow hide in a shop and then end up arguing with the shopkeeper is like, fascinating on multiple levels

Because on the one hand: I can't blame the townspeople for just keeping their head down and trying to get out alive. On the other hand, reporting them to the Horde isn't cool; they could just pretend not to be suspicious of these guys; there are in fact lots of places on the spectrum between "actively collaborating with one's oppressors" and "mounting a full-scale armed rebellion."

But on the other other hand I also think it's interesting that Adora's the only one of the three who's like "nah dude just let these people live their lives omg," something about Adora having lived in an oppressive environment for her whole childhood maybe

Also Melog steals an apple for Catra, just magically takes it from someone's basket and into Catra's hand, which implies they're communicating non-verbally more than just moods, though I suppose "hungry, that apple looks good" is a mood

Back on Horde Prime's ship, Hordak keeps looking at the chip thing Entrapta gave him and gets caught by Prime, whoopsie

oh hey, lore: Horde Prime can't access ALL the memories in his previous bodies without going into them, and he keeps his old bodies around in that green goo, that's fucking weird and gross, anyway he plugs a connection into his old body

Horde Prime: "The First Ones sought a new source of power of ancient worlds. Why? Why bend themselves to the whims of magic and myth?"

Poor Hordak has flashbacks to Entrapta and the Fright Zone. Mostly Entrapta. Including a moment of her looking at him fondly--I think it's the moment when she says "Imperfection is beautiful."

Horde Prime: "The fools took their secrets with them when they died. But I will find another way."

(I've seen a fan discussion suggest that there aren't actually any First Ones left--that when Light Hope made it so Adora came through the portal, the portal itself went back in time. I like that explanation in part because it means in my fic I don't have to figure out why Adora doesn't go looking for her birth family. Which tbh most fic-writers don't worry about anyway lol.)

Back with the rebellion, poor Catra is once again trying not to lose her lunch because they've all teleported.

And Netossa is like WTF IS THAT BITCH DOING HERE

Melog doesn't like that

Adora: "It's a long story, but she's with us now" Netossa: "...really??" (Catra in the background: hisses)

BAHAHA and then Netossa spots Wrong Hordak and they have to explain, no that one's with us, too 😬

But yeah p much the entire rebellion has been chipped except like Netossa and Perfuma

Adora and Bow have a guilt trip about having been gone for so long (...to rescue the queen! and also Catra)

and Catra's remembering what it's like to be chipped :(

Glimmer gives them all a ra-ra little speech

there's a great moment when Catra's like "you go deal with Spinnerella we'll take care of the bots" and Adora says "be careful" and Catra grins and says "always am!" like ma'am that is a LIE

Spinnerella is torturing some poor villager, and Netossa is worried her wife isn't still "in there"

Adora would know. From literal, personal experience. ;_;

She transforms into She-Ra and Netossa literally does a whistle of appreciation and says, "New look?" and She-Ra grins back. And somehow that is, like. Super queer. Like literally just one lesbian to another, in a flirty-but-not kinda way. Like I have *had* those interactions, where the underlying meaning is "I know we're each in a relationship, so I'm not actually hitting on you; but as one queer woman to another I want you to know that I see what you're putting out there and I like it." It's one of the best things??????

Netossa gives a little speech to Spinnerella about how she loves her and Spinnerella actually comes back for a few seconds ;_; but then she's gone again, but She-Ra and Netossa convince her to disappear for a while at least? And the locals rejoice.

And Catra would know. ;_; (She rubs the back of her neck after saying this.)

Anyway word gets back to Horde Prime that She-Ra is back on Etheria :D and he's so fucking pissed he's going to go there

...and Hordak spends a long moment looking at that chip from Entrapta again

They go to where the rebellion is actually hiding out, Glimmer and Catra recognize it

Ahhh Raphie boy. I really put him and reader through it. I would like to maybe write a second part, but if I do, it won't be for a while. Yes, but there aren't main. Like. Three authors. Two of which I already liked for other things. (I do REALLY want to read Annika Martin's dark books, which I think are Russian mafia or Russian mafia adjacent?)

I am very picky with mafia romances because a) I was a little ethically eh on reading them for a long time because b) based on where I've lived and what I've studied, I know a bit more about the mafia than your average romance reader I think, that's not a brag it's a nerdery c) a lot of them are based in America, modern, and I've gotta say, that's corny as hell because while there are absolutely VERY powerful criminal organizations mafia-related today, they! Are! Not! V powerful! In! America! The Italian-American mafia took a huge hit in the 1980s that hasn't really let up, and while they exist and they're bad... Tony Soprano ain't doing it like like the Camorra is doing it in Italy, today, y'know? The power isn't there, and when you see, like, the billionaire Italian-American mafia guys in romance today it's too much for me. I get why it's not too much for other people. I suspend my disbelief on MANY CRAZIER THINGS. I just can't with this lol.

(Also, I have a personal issue with Italian-American romance heroes who are like "I'm Italian". Lol no you aren't. You're Italian-American. You're usually Sicilian-American. You are EYETALIAN.)

Anyway, after that preamble of why my recs are limited:

Mila Finelli's Kings of Italy series. Literally some of my favorite books I've read in forever. Set in Italy, though the heroines are from Italian-Canadian extensions (which, like, Canada for sure has a more powerful presence than America, so I'm guessing that was smart research from Mila). I also love Mila's books because while they are crazy, they're not INSANELY dark, and tend to be more on the fun side. They're super, super hot. There are usually good grovels. The heroines are actually pretty bold and, aside from the last one, not virginal (which is an issue in many mafia books tbh). They break down to:

Mafia Mistress--Frankie is traded by her father to a powerful capo, Fausto, ostensibly to marry his son Giulio. However, two issues: a) Giulio is in fact gay b) Fausto ends up wanting Frankie for himself after she puts up a fight. But he doesn't want her as his wife--he wants her as his mistress. His MAFIA MISTRESS.

Mafia Darling--Direct sequel to MM, wherein Frankie and Fausto deal with their various issues, both mafia-related and like, relationship related. I also really love Fausto and Giulio's relationship, it's so sweet and takes time to work on, and it has a culmination here that made me tear up. Heads up: Frankie is 18 and Fausto is 38. I didn't care about this. Do with it what you will lmao.

Mafia Madman--My favorite, best read after the first two but can go solo. Enzo D'Agostino (king of my heart/body and soul as TSwift would say) was one of the villains of the previous books. He kidnapped Frankie, Fausto like cut off his finger and tortured him for a month, and he escaped to hide out on a yacht for four years like a Bond villain. Enzo is... incredible. He is the richest hero in this series because of his "computer business" (????) which @triviareads and I have concluded means he's running Nigerian prince scams and holding the economies of small nations for ransom. He and Fausto have a relationship that I can only describe as "Alexis (Fausto) and Dominique (Enzo) if they were mafia dons". The champagne is BURNT!!!!

Anyway, he randomly sees Gia, Frankie's wild, bratty little sister, and is all "a-HA, a foolproof plan I have just concocted within five minutes to get revenge and free myself from the prison of living on a fabulous yacht IS HERE" so he naturally invites her out for a drink, blows up the bar, fakes her death, and puts her in a cage on the yacht. Sadly for him, the only person who can match Enzo's crazy is Gia, and she starts doing naked yoga (queen of my spirit) and they promptly enter into an intense enemies to lovers back and forth in which ONLY ONE CAN WIN (her).

If you want an OBSESSED alpha... this is it.

Mafia Target--Giulio is back! He's on the run because he's Fausto's son and the mafia is hella homophobic (true). Unfortunately, the world's DEADLIEST SNIPER, disaster bisexual Alessio Ricci, has been deployed to kill him. Unfortunately for Alessio, Giulio is DUMB HOT and so naturally Alessio blows him in a club before Giulio realizes he's out to kill him, and they end up on a tiny Scottish island, trying to kill each other while also being like "let's take a month off of trying to kill each other... to.... do things...."

This is arguably the most outright SWOONY ROMANTIC of the books, I love it with all my heart. Giulio and Alessio have one of those relationships wherein it's kinda love at first sight, tempered by the whole assassin thing, and it totally works.

Mafia Virgin--Emma, the other Mancini sister, wants to be a doctor and is super sweet. She's forced to marry new don Giacomo, who doesn't want to be with her either. And, oh yeah, they have to conceive a baby in six months or less!

This is probably the softest book in the series. Giacomo is not quite as hard as Fausto, Enzo, Giulio, or Alessio. He's like, the thinking man's mafia don (but everyone thinks he's stupid because he's big and fights!!!). And as it turns out, he and Emma are very, very into the whole making a baby thing.

Mafia Brute--This is an m/m Russian mafia novella, about Theo, Giulio's designer friend, who's fallen into a fling with the very dangerous Nikolai. A lot of hooking up on a yacht (again). A lot of very romantic sweetness fringed with violence. A lot of heat. Great!

Ummm I also love Kresley Cole's Gamemaker series! These are Russian mafia books.

The Professional--The heroine is adopted, and finds out the big scary guy who's been watching her is her biological father's enforcer/surrogate son... when he kidnaps her to take her back to said father. They immediately have an attraction, but he refuses to give in because if they get together (she's a virgin) he'll be like, obligated to marry her. While she's not so hot on the marriage thing, she WANTS him. She's a total brat, it's all very teasing and great.

The Master--This one has a billionaire mafia dude order the heroine, an escort on the run from her past. They have this insane hookup, major connection, it's amazing, but then he finds out she was trying to pull one over on him (or was she???) and he takes her captive. Also, there is a chastity belt. This one is amazing and has a fabulous grovel.

The Player--This hero is really more mafia-adjacent because the other two heroes are his older brothers, but he's definitely into some shady shit, and he is OBSESSED. He fixates on the heroine and is another SUPER possessive guy with a dark past. Has one of my favorite sex scenes ever (he fingers her to orgasm in front of a table of other people who are also getting off on it).

Run, Posy Run by Cate C. Wells--In this one, the heroine is the (American but it works here) mafia hero's longterm girlfriend, and she's basically always been around the life and accepts a subpar relationship because he keeps her comfortable and she thinks he loves her. Then, he's sent this video that makes it look like she cheated on him; and she realizes he's like, a sociopath and goes on the run. However... he then realizes that he can't actually live without her, and begins stalking/chasing after her lol. It's actually a good "fix the relationship" book, with an edge of kidnapping and a feeling-less hero learning how to have a feeling. I also really loved the heroine's development.

“So what’s happening today?” Skye asked you over the phone as you exited your apartment.

“Darius and I are supposed to meet up to discuss the trip and everything. It’s supposed to be a getting-to-know-you type of thing.” You said walking towards the stairs. You were kind of nervous, not gonna lie. Your hands were jittery, you had to take a couple of deep breaths. Since AEW was in your hometown of Chicago, Darius thought it would be a good idea to meet up today before leaving for Minnesota tomorrow.

“I think this a great opportunity for you to gain a new friendship,” Willow said in the background. To be honest, you were a little secluded backstage, despite being in such a social position. You literally did most of the makeup and face paint of AEW Stars. It’s not that you hated talking to people, you were just a little more introverted than most (so yeah you hated people). But some people made their goals to befriend you like Skye and Willow. Others gradually got to get to know you like The Lads (Hook, Andretti, Dante, and Anthony).

With Darius, it was different. Due to his injury and his move to ROH, you never really got to know him. But he was sweet and nice all the times you talked to him. You got his number as an emergency contact with The Lads.

“I guess. But, why did he ask you again? You guys don’t even talk that much or know each other.”

You sighed, “He said it because he doesn’t want feelings to get involved and that I was the only girl who won’t make him feel uncomfortable in this scenario.” Pausing, you stopped in the stairwell. With your voice echoing, “I don’t know though guys, I think I’m gonna back out, this might be too much.” You would feel bad for backing out of your word, but at the same time, it might be too much to do something like this for a person you barely know.

“But what about the Top Flight hoodie? That’s such a fire hoodie though!” Willow exclaimed.

“Yeah, but I can make it myself or I can just buy it. No biggie.” You turned around to start climbing the stairs and go back to your room.
 “If you say so.” Skye drifted off, before making a sound. “Oh! Cole Karter asked about you today.”

You stopped and tilted your head in annoyance. “Again?”

“Mm-hmm, he was wondering how he should approach you for a date.” For the past three weeks, Cole has been hinting at asking you out and trying to form a relationship with you. Cole was a handsome man, and very talented indeed, another AEW wrestler. However, he was a douche. The way he acted towards others was a major turn-off for you. But no matter what you said to him, he would never take no for an answer. “Y/N! I got an idea.”

“Listening…”

“If you go fake date Darius, not only would that help him, it could help you get rid of Cole!” Skye said excitedly.

Willow chimed back in. “And ask yourself, who would you rather date? Darius or Cole?”

Your eyes shifted around as you turned yourself around once more and went down the stairs. “Y’all ain't gotta say another word.”

— Time Skip: 2 Hours Later —

“So then, Dante jumped but underestimated how far the table was and just hit the floor,” Darius said, making you laugh. “He couldn’t eat for like two days.”

“I know he was pissed!” You exclaimed, laughing even more.

So far, you’ve been on this “date” with Darius for an hour, and thus far it’s been pretty great. Granted, there were still some awkward silences (like right after you two finished giggling), but you were still having some fun. You two have been getting to know each other, telling each other stories, you’ve been enjoying each other’s company so much that you forgot the original reason why you guys met up.

“Y/N, thanks again for agreeing to do this,” Darius said

You shrugged it off. “It’s literally no problem! Beneficial for both of us, besides I need to get out of the house anyways. So what do my duties consist of?”

“It’s so simple. We act like we’re in love, fool everyone, and leave. Afterward, I’ll just tell them that something happened and we broke up but we are still good friends.”

“And we leave tomorrow?” Darius nodded. “I know that’s gonna be a long drive.”

“Dante and I will be switching halfway, so everything will be fine,” Darius said. After he said that, a brief awkward pause entered the space. At this point, it was expected as, again, you were getting to know each other. “Also, be prepared for a lot of questions. My family is very nosey and loves to try to get every detail as possible, and they’ll try to see if we like each other.”

“What kind of questions will they ask?”

“It ranges. They’ll be like extremely invasive like ’Oh, what did you guys do on your 3-month anniversary? And if someone said this to me how you would respond?’ or they’ll be very basic like ‘What’s my favorite color?’ Again, they range.”

You took in the information as a lightbulb went off in your head. You don’t even know basic information about your supposed ‘boyfriend’. “So what is your favorite color?”

Darius’s face dropped as he realized that despite exchanging simple stories, you didn’t know anything about each other. He chuckled as his face created a small smile. “Blue, specifically, royal blue. What about yours?” You told him yours as his smile grew, “That’s a pretty color for a pretty girl.” Blushing, you started to tell him more basic information about yourself.

And soon, those awkward silences were filled with laughs and flirty banter. From here, it can only get better….
