FULL FEM FORTRESS LINE UP
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i finally FINALLY finished this lineup. those fuckers are in my head more that they should be. after writing my ideas for them i HAD TO DRAW THEM, i had such a clear image in my mind. the only one I've drawn before where engie, medic, sniper and scout, but those were just sketches.
if you wanna read what I wrote about them you can find the three posts here: defense | offense | support
full lineup, sketch lineup and design thoughts under the cut:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i always like the sketches more but i love the clear lineart, it makes the character more readable, so now it's time for some design thoughts:
engie - she was the first, she has seen everythin- no ok wrong franchise. i meant, she was the one i was more certain of. the outfit didn't change from the og but i made her have two small pigtails. i always viewed them as a cow girl hairstyle, and they're also practical. a stable hairstyle that keeps your hair out of your face.
heavy - the sleaves where kinda an instant idea i KNEW i had to incorporate. so i did a bit of reaserch on traditional russian clothes and their patterns. they seems to be very geometrical with not more than 5 colors, which two of them are white and black, usually at the seams or borders of the clothing. so i tried to do that. i really like how it came out.
demo - not much to say aside from me winging the hairstyle. i honestly didn't know which one to give to her, but i knew i didn't want a long hair style. maybe one day i'll draw her without the hat.
scout - she is the one with my favorite design. i LOVE how it came out. i fell it express her cockiness the best. i tried putting her in the og outift but eh, i prefer this one.
soldier - this is literally just normal soldier. i tried to but more "femminine" traits in her face. but still, just soldier with boobs.
pyro - it's normal pyro, with some stickers cause why not.
medic - she's my love. my beauty, the absolute perfection. i love her and every time i draw her she becomes more and more creepy. and i love her so much. at first i was unsure about the hairstyle, i tried to but her in a high bun but it didn't fit the face shape, so i just gave her a side swoosh. also you may have noticed she has the nurse hat, well, that's just because i think it's cute, and i mean, she is a field doctor and usually the women there where red crosses so, made sense to me.
sniper - ah, my beautiful, unkept woman. i had a hard time making her face look rugged without giving her 30 years more and doing that on women is actually pretty difficult. i had one time an art teacher saying to me "every line on a woman's face gives her 10 years more" and holy fuck if that's true. the second problem was the body type. a lot of people do her slim, and at first i drew her like so, but i found myself appreciating a bigger waist line, creating a sort of square siluette.
spy - finally the beautiful femme fatale. i will ALWAYS have problems with spy's suit color. i can't. it always feels so wrong aaaa. but that aside, i did a simple google search for 60s women's suit and i kinda went with it. it's a bit different from the og spy suit but it's also different from modern suits, so i had a bit of an hard time adjusting the jacket.
my asks are open if you wanna know more of them or if you wanna see them in some specific scenario!! and if you like tf2 i also did a team furtress lineup with explainations.
consider supporting me on my KOFI, i recently opened commissions!!

Henlo
You know who it is, we all know, henlo
I feel like I’ve been here a lot recently
Just starting off with saying I loved the Dazai piece. It was really cute. Dad Dazai trying his best, made my heart melty
But I think you know why I’m here today
On this day
Honestly the day doesn’t entirely matter but I’m here on THIS one
With the dad Fyodor thought I promised
Cuz here I was thinking to myself. I feel like Fyodor definitely wants his child or children having some connection to Russian culture, since that’s a part of them too, regardless of their other parent’s nationality or background, he definitely wants his included. (Tho his partner could totally do the same)
So I was wondering, would you like a piece of him either teaching his children Russian or making Russian food for them? Or really sharing any Russian cultural thing with them at all. Honestly whatever one is easier for you to write or go into detail with, they’re all equally cute.
Cuz if his child or children develop a connection to that, I feel like that would make him a lot happier than maybe he would fully show.
I hope this ask sparks the creative brain juices in a fun way
Also considering sending a Halloween themed request at some point idk… oh but who knows! We’re here rn and having fun with this, that’s all we need at the moment
Also real glad you enjoy my messages lol. I will absolutely keep sending. Take as long as you need
-the person here attempting to give everyone baby fever because it’s funny
This blog’s Dad Fyodor anon
"da!" - Dad!Fyodor x GN!Reader ੈ✩‧₊˚
Warnings; Google translate Russian, not much reader involvement, very minimal proofreading happened
Description; Dad!Fyodor teaching his child about Russian culture! It incorporates ideas from the first dad!Fyodor part.
Tumblr media
A/n; YESYESYES I one hundred percent agree, I think about this on the regular OMG I hope I depicted this well bc my knowledge on Russia isn't all that extensive lol, if you have any corrections, do tell me!! : ) Also I'm gonna be so fr I had NO idea what to name this so we're rolling with da I guess.............
Headcannons !! ༊*·˚
★ He teaches his child/children classical Russian music when they're old enough to play more difficult pieces. Until then, he'll settle for twinkle twinkle little star.
★ Introduces his children to ballet.
★ His children have a variety of Russian-originating toys, such as Matryoshka/Russian nesting dolls, rocking horses etc.
★ Brings his children to Russia at least once, specifically to Moscow (irl Dostoevsky was raised in Moscow, so we're gonna assume BSD Dostoevsky was too) to experience the culture first hand.
★ Teaches his children the foundations of the Russian language. He would like them to fluently speak it one day, though.
★ Cooks Russian food for them like I mentioned and included in the first part.
★ They learn about Russian history from their father, anywhere from Peter the Great to fur trade and all that jazz
Scenario !! ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
(as always, p/t is parental title, d/n is daughters name)
Your head leaned against your fist while you watched your husband and daughter focus on their current activity. D/n carefully picked the colors and pigments she would use to color in the white spaces on her paper, and Fyodor just tried to keep things inside the lines. You could see the little girls tongue slightly sticking out from between her lips in concentration, making you smile.
Your daughter went to pick her next color, chosing a pink crayon to fill in the nose of the cat. "Papa, what'd you say your hat was called again? The one you always wear." She clarifies, even though there was really only one hat that Fyodor would wear at all. His eyes don't leave his thin paper as he replies, "A ushanka, and it's from Russia, malyshka." He answered, pushing some of his hair out of his face and behind his ear. "Russia." She says, the sound not unfamiliar, but not common to her either. "Where's that?" She tilts her head upwards, putting her crayon down to signify her attention on her papa. He puts his down too and rests his arms on top of one another.
"Quite far, but it is in both Asia and Europe. That's how big it is, it stretches over two continents." He says, a smile on his face. Her eyes widen a little. "That is really big. Have you been there before?" Her head tilts and she shifts a bit in her seat. "I grew up there, in the city of Moscow." He says, happy with her clear interest in his motherland.
"We should go there for a vacation one day!" She says, a grin on her face. He laughs a little bit and nods. "I agree, we definetly should." He agrees, fantasizing about it in his head. "Is that why you talk like that?" She questions her fathers accent, skittering around the table and climbing onto his lap. He smiles gently and nods. "Yes, it's called an accent, malyshka. I learned English, but Russian is my mother tongue. There are a lot of different pronunciations for certain sounds in Russian." He tells her, his hands fidgeting with the young girls hair. He parts it into three sections and starts to braid it.
"Is everything different there?" Fyodor hums, thinking as he weaves her hair into a gorgeous French braid. "Well, it definitely very different, but I don't think I would say everything." He says. "There are more historical differences than anything, if I do say so myself." She hums in understanding. "Papa, can you teach me some Russian?" She asks, turning her head to look at him with puppy dog eyes, even though she really didn't need them. He smiled and nodded.
"What should I teach you?" He softly questions, looking into the young girls eyes. She thinks for a moment, tapping her pointer finger on her chin. "I don't know! Whatever you want." She says, just excited to hear another language. He chuckles softly. "я не знаю, что тебе сказать" (I don't know what to tell you) he responds, a small grin on his face. Her eyes widen, almost as if she never believed he could speak a different language. You giggle a bit at her reaction.
"What does that mean?!" She excitedly asks, her mind seemingly blown over this. "It simply means I don't know what to tell you." He speaks. "But I can tell you the simple stuff. Like 'да' means yes and 'нет' means no. Hello is 'привет' and goodbye is 'до свидания'."
The young girl takes a mental note of these words. "привет, papa! I think I said that right." She says. You proudly watch the scene go down. Fyodor gives you a similarly prideful smile. "Yes, you did wonderful, malyshka." He praises her, patting her shoulder. "I'll have to teach you more one day." She nods vigorously, very obviously wanting him to. "Yes! And then we can have secret conversations, no one else will know what we're saying!" She snickers, making him smile.
A/n; I hope this is alright!! I loved this request a whole lot. Oh, also, feel free to send in that Halloween request even though it's November now lol
"Oh, ofcourse. That will probably be rather far in the future, though." He says, removing her from his lap and gently patting her back. "That's okay. If I learn more I'll know more words." She states the obvious. "And I'm gonna learn from the best russian ever." She beams, making Fyodor grin. "That's right, sweetheart."

fic writer interview!
shamelessly yoinking from @karliahs bc this looks fun as hell to do :]
Tumblr media
How many works do you have on AO3?
32 fics total, between my main and rough draft pseud!! which feels like a really small amount, honestly-- i think my private WIPs list is MUCH higher 😂😂😂😂 if we're counting my very first (and very abandoned) ao3 acct too, then that number is bumped up to 35!!
What's your total AO3 word count?
163,211, and a good 65k of that was written this year somehow??? according to my statistics ._. lowkey crazy to think about
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
paid for it with all of my blood (BNHA | 8,452)
at times so self destructive (BNHA | 4,554)
lost in the dark (he's got a heavy heart) (HC/LIFE | 3,618)
or we can just have conversation (MSA | 1,834)
the art of rawgabbitry (BNHA | 1,609)
if youve been following me since my bnha fics in 2018 you deserve a veteran's discount
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
i used to answer every single comment i got, honestly, unless it came by years after i posted it-- the only reason i dont as much anymore is because it gets REALLY overwhelming for me to respond to everyone after the initial barrage 😅😅 the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak etc etc. but i do read every comment and appreciate them SO SO MUCH, and whenever i find one particularly moving or want to just reassure people im still working on something i'll respond to those :]
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
not counting the wips that just never got finished and left off before their main shit could resolve, id say at times so self destructive (BNHA)-- i mean i LITERALLY ended it with izuku potentially dying 😭😭😭😭
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
tbh i dont think i write happy endings so much as i write hopeful, bittersweet, or open-ended ones-- i tend to like catharsis more than fluff when it comes down to it. but out of my fluff fics i think honey it's starting to storm (HC) is one of the genuinely sweetest ive written. my runner-ups on that would probably be when the smoke does finally pass (TMA) and or we could just have conversation (MSA) :]
Do you write crossovers?
not typically, and ive never published any, but i am definitely not immune to them 😂😂😂😂 i think my most niche crossover ive actually written (never to see the light of day) was a Nine Lives of Chloe King and Supernatural fic that was the definition of self-indulgent rot. only a little less niche than that was a Mortal Instruments and Supernatural crossover (theres a running theme here lol) lying in snippets on an ancient google doc in my oldest gmail acct. reread that one recently and its shockingly coherent for being written in like. 2016. id even call it decent (though theres a lot id change up if i were writing it now)
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
idk if it'd be considered hate but once i wrote a fic inspired by someone else's when i was very new to ao3, let them know (i didnt know about the "inspired by" option back then), and they got mad at me in my comments section because in their words, "its better than mine" 😭😭😭😭💥💥💥💥💥💥
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Tumblr media
YOU COULD SAY THAT
as for what kind, honestly whatever strikes my fancy-- usually character/relationship studies, or just a fun focus on character intimacy. love 2 be asexual<3 love 2 write asexual sex<3
i had a discussion with my qpp recently about how in all honesty the smut i write is pretty tame, its just the character emotions written behind it that makes it feel a bit deranged. smth smth scarian is a chemical explosion. u understand
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not to my knowledge!!!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
yeppers!! the art of rawgabbitry (BNHA) received a translation to Russian, which i always found a bit funny because rawgabbitry is. one of my least favorite works ive ever written, if only for the type of comments it tended to receive back in the day 😭😭😭😭
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
ive never managed it honestly-- i get a bit precious about my process, which can make it hard to collaborate on that level. but its something ive always wanted to grow enough as a writer to try :]
What's your all-time favorite ship?
not so much of a singular OTP type of guy as i have favorite pairings per fandom im in-- that being said rn its scarian :P
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
pretty much all of my dsmp wips honestly. i may surprise myself someday, but for now i just have zero urge to actually finish any of them
What are your writing strengths?
like my pal karliahs im gonna rip these from the comments ive received 😅😅😅 but id definitely say imagery is my strongest skill!! i have a very strong imagination, and tend to see fic scenes as movie scenes in my head which i then transcribe into written format. id like to say im also really skilled at characterization and realistic dialogue that captures character voices very well!! and frankly i just love emotional realism so much i cant NOT write it, its always leaking into everything i do
What are your writing weaknesses?
i tend to get a little too funky and abstract with my descriptions sometimes-- that can work for some scenes, but grounding everything so that it feels more real and makes actual sense to the reader is something i often have to do on the second, third, and final passes
also to every person who has to crack open a thesaurus to understand what i write, i am so fucking sorry😭💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
no thoughts beyond if its not a language you're proficient in you should probably get that checked over by a native speaker, just in case :P
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
fairy tail..... ff.net was a dark place
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
crying sobbing wailing as i desperately beg my brain to start writing that post-canon siffrin and odile relationship study. unfortunately i dont think i can have more than one longfic on my docket at a time so it shrimply must wait
What's your favorite fic you've written?
to the surprise of absolutely nobody, i'd have say lost in the dark (he's got a heavy heart) (HC/LIFE) :]
Tumblr media
No obligation, but im tagging: @raichett, @kayawolfhorse, @boonbeenblade, @sillyfairygarden, and @grimfey !!! And anyone else who wants to do this ofc :]]]❤️❤️❤️❤️

hello ‘tis I 😊
I have strong (and negative) feelings about the MBS show. I think that almost everything they did and changed was a betrayal of the books. So I’m curious as to why you like it! (No hate at all, I think parts of it were good, I’m just curious)
Okay so. I really like the MBS books, and I really like the show, but boy oh boy are those different pieces of media! And they should be treated as such. If someone turns on the MBS tv show looking for an adaptation of the books, they will be sorely disappointed! Initially, that was me. “What do you mean curtain has no wheelchair and sunglasses and narcoleptic seizures we’ll only recognize were that later??” Katie asked herself, and if she had continued in this mindset, she would have probably thrown something at the tv when season two came on with its entirely different plot that was pulled out of thin air.
What’s charming to me about the MBS show is hard to place. It might be the way the whimsical nature of the books was captured so well, or perhaps the extremely loveable main characters. I came to love the changes after a while, but I had to start seeing them as different.
For example, I’ll only ever find obstinate two-year-old Constance at the library or bookstore. However, sarcastic Russian 10-year-old Constance lives in the google drive of pirated tmbs episodes, and I love her just as much!
And the brotherly betrayal?? I’m a sucker for that stuff! Having Mr. Benedict already know he had a twin, having lingering guilt about being the one to be adopted, was a twist I actually really appreciated. I think I actually prefer show Benedict brothers dynamic to the one in the book! However, they’re different things, both of which I enjoy reading about.
If you look at each Curtain under a magnifying glass, you’ll find that Book Curtain and Nathaniel Benedict are very different beneath the surface (far more different than we can even see! Which is saying something! Because there are a lot of visible differences!) and this changes each villain’s motivations and complexity as a character. (What do you mean there’s too many show Benedict brothers fanfics on my ao3? Whaaaat…..) for example! The happiness thing from season two! Him wanting his brother to believe he is a good person and only getting worse and worse while trying!!! *loses my mind*
It’s an enjoyable plot line, it’s just not what’s in the MBS books.
Also!! SQ being Curtain’s adopted kid who is an artist! It’s a different character from book SQ, yes, but he’s fascinating! And the dynamic there! I love book SQ, and I can still read about him, so I don’t give up that character by finding enjoyment in this other one, if you get what I mean.
Martina in the show? The tetherball obsession? Her budding friendship with Kate and the way she doesn’t feel like anyone gets her AGDKDHSJSHD listen book Martina is also awesome and super interesting, but this Martina is too, even though she’s different. She’s not a bad different, she’s a different different!
Honestly? The characterizations make me want to hug that show soooo tightly. Reynie is so endearing. Sticky is so relatable. Kate is so fun, even with her difference from her book self, and so is Constance! Mr. Benedict is lively and quirky, Rhonda and Number Two are distinct characters with lots of interesting traits, SQ (loses mind) and Dr. Garrison is such an interesting villain, especially once she breaks apart from Curtain. And the implication that Milligan worked with Curtain willingly before his memories were wiped in this universe?? No that’s not what was written in the books, but it’s in the show and it’s fascinating.
I love that show. I love its resemblance to the books I love and the nostalgic moments that remind me of that book series. But I also love its unique plot and character dynamics. It’s just… different!
Honestly, things that aren’t faithful to the book are kinda hit or miss (Percy Jackson movies being a huge miss!) but this show maintained the spirit of the book with a new and enjoyable plot line! I got to be on the edge of my seat again, not knowing what was going to happen. Instead of seeing character dynamics I knew I enjoyed play out in front of me on a screen (which I also would have liked to see, don’t get me wrong), I got to see new character dynamics I hadn’t already explored, also deeply fascinating!
I think watching and enjoying the MBS show requires letting go of elements of the MBS books, in a way, in order to enjoy what the writers did with it. The MBS books are still there, with the same characters and setting and dynamics, and I’ll always love them, but the show gives me a new thing to love as well! In the end it’s a universe I enjoy playing with dolls in, and the show gave me some new dolls to play with!

I love all your takes on fandom, ships, queer media, so I want to ask, what do you think about writing fanfic of real people ie. Thai BL couple? I'm coming back to fandom (K-pop to Thai BL specifically) after years and I'm having this urge to write fanfic of this branded pair that I like, like an AU version of them some sort. I have always wanted to write my own romance novels so I figure this could be a way to practice writing, but when I was still in K-pop fandom on Twitter, I was constantly told that writing fanfic shipping real people is weird. Honestly the thought of writing about a ship in this K-pop group I like still weird me out (although I do ship them) and is not exciting. But I have no problem putting the Thai BL pair into the stories I have in my head. I have spent hours consuming fanfics of them on Thai novel site using Google Translate. Also, Thai fandom has this thing where instead of the actor's name, it usually would be character's name with their face attached to it, like they are acting and the fanfic is a script, which make reading them more fun, open up more possibilities and dynamics. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you and sorry for the bad English. 🙏🏻
Hi Nonnie,
Thanks for the complement and coming here with this ask. I appreciate the kind words very much.
As far as real-person fanfic (RPF)I think it gets a lot of hate from a lot of people, but also it’s super common in the world in general and not just in unpaid fanfic circles. While I don’t write RPF myself, I’ve always had friends who did and do, and I see no real problem with it. As long as you’re not tagging the real people in it, I have no problem with its existence.
A huge problem and conflation with RPF being a huge toxic problem is that it assumes that everyone writing RPF is a toxic fan (tin-hat, sasaeng, etc) who is out there demanding that those real people get together and that by writing about the possibility of them potentially being together you are removing their agency and are being creepy and forceful. The reality is that most people who read and write RPF are normal fans with normal boundaries who know it’s all fiction and all in good fun, and it’s just a few bad apples that ruin the fun because they cannot separate the person from the object that has been created and is being packaged as a commodity (which is what the personas of famous people are).
I think in Thai BL fandom there’s an added layer of ease because they’ve already adopted an RPF model of promotion to sell their pairs and shows. Now whether any of those men are actually together in real life, there is a performance of a level of intimacy they perform in front of crowds and social media. Because the imagined couple or branded couple or CP already exists as a fantasy for fans to enjoy, there’s a level of implicit buy-in from the artists that doesn’t necessarily exist in other fandom spaces. This may be why it’s easier for you to enjoy it in Thai BL fandom than in another.
But real people write and profit off of RPF all the time. Every biopic in Hollywood tells an imagined story about a real-life figure and their real life events. People win whole Oscars for their depictions of RPF!! Hamilton is an excellent example of a viral musical that is an RPF story come to life, especially the Hamilton/Angelica storyline as she was already married long before they met. Evita is another classic RPF musical that is beloved by the people. The myth of Anastasia and the beloved 1998 animated classic is a hopeful bit of RPF that has existed in some form or another since the fall of the Russian royalty (though the grand duchess receiving girls who pretended to be Anastasia is a real event so…RPF). The Crown on Netflix is RPF. I think time and distance helps people not feel it’s less weird, like if the person isn’t going to see it then maybe it’s fine.
I think RPF also gets a bad name because it’s largely what tabloids and gossip blogs have long traded on. Especially as tabloids and gossip columns trade in stories that are aggressive and accusatory and demeaning, and are meant for the personalities in question to see and are reported to be true. A lot of people conflate the two things.
My best practices for RPF run about the same as general fanfiction: keep it to fan sites like the one you’re currently reading it on (or tumblr, or AO3, or any of the many options out there), if you’re going to share it on Twitter or Instagram (which I’m old and wouldn’t because I belligerent in a healthy level of separation - the way I can’t with people just casually adding omega verse comments and retweets to pictures on public forums) don’t @ them and even be careful using hashtags because if actors want to read that they should go looking for it like the rest of us, and generally just be respectful of the artists and their life and their personal boundaries. General rule of thumb for interactions with everyone: if it’s not something they can change in 5 minutes or something wildly not okay, don’t comment on a persons actions or decisions.
And that’s about it. I hope you write what you want to write. What you’re talking about, using them almost as a dream cast for your original fiction is also barely in the RPF category. I hope you have fun. Your English was fantastic (said as a lifelong English speaker who has taught the language and am unsure how proficient any of us are with this creole of a language).
Oh and if you’re messing around in Thai BL RPF just know that Joong Archen may find whatever you write and read it. We have a deal, Joong, I know you’re out here somewhere but I would like to keep my old lady sensibilities and pretend that my fandom life is still kept relatively separate from the artists.

Hi Aisha, hope you're having a nice start to your week! For the writer truth or dare ask game: 🦴🔪🌵(could be a character playlist or not)❄️(could also be something you wanna write yourself!) 🍄, and 🏜️. I'd add more because all of these are great but this is already one too many lol so feel free to pick and choose which ones you wanna answer, ofc<3
Hi Max!!! Thank you! It's Eid tomorrow so that's a pretty sick way to start the week ;) Thank you so much for the ask!!!
🦴- Boy howdy is there a piece of media that inspires my writing haha. I have quite a few that it's hard to put name to them all. Whenever I read a book or watch a movie/show I always feel like I take something away from them in order to incorporate into my own writing, but if I were to choose a few specific pieces of media that really inspire my writing, it would be Hannibal, what with the beautiful imagery and the way it is almost poetic in its brutality. I think the writers of the show did a really good job, and I just absolutely adore it. True Detective (season one) is also a piece of media that REALLY influences my writing. I adore the gothic vibes, and I love the way they make the characters human, realistic, with lots of flaws, instead of making them into heroes, and I am just in love with the very synesthetic feeling it gives, I myself am synesthetic and I think it really resonated with me in a way, and gave me a lot of inspiration as in how to describe scenes and emotions. Catch-22, both the book, film, and tv show, have all inspired my idea of Bucky in the war, and I have a few songs including Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths, О как хотела мама by Shortparis, Две недели by Aigel, and O, Children by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, that heavily inspire a lot of my Russian-era Bucky Barnes writing, as well as, for some funny reason, the TV show Бригада. I just feel like the show really shows both the human and terrible, gritty side to organized crime that I am CERTAIN Bucky was involved in, in some way, shape or form. Another film/book that has, heavily and directly, inspired my both my fanfiction writing and original writing is the 2008 film, "Morphine" and the inspiration behind it, the novella by Bulgakov, Morphine. My fic Noch' Ulista Fonar' Apteka was very non-subtly inspired by Morphine, so much! AAAND- I better stop here before I write a whole essay about how media has influenced my writing, because I could literally go on forever and ever!!!! ;)
🔪- I think the weirdest thing that I have had to research for a writing project was for my fic Noch' Ulitsa Fonar' Apteka. I had to, somehow, figure out how to write drug addiction from a first hand perspective, and, of course, I myself have not, and never will take any form of recreational drugs, so I had to scout through many pages of google before finding this legendary gem of a website that has been a lifesaver for me. The website looks like it was made in 2008 and I honestly was a little worried about clicking on it, but it turned out fine haha. It has a bunch of really detailed first hand experiences with all sorts of drugs you could imagine, including withdrawal, good trips, bad trips, and coming down. I think I spent a few hours just reading and absorbing everything to try to write Bucky's experience, and honestly, I came away from the research with an even stronger desire to never try drugs, as most of the reports highlighted how the spiral began. But yeah! That might be the weirdest thing I have researched, unless of course, if you count the time I had to research equine veterinary care in 1980s Russia lmao.
🌵- Gilded Soul This is my favourite playlist I've created, and it's so gentle and sweet and I listen to the songs on it so often. I adore it so much! All the songs have memories and feelings attached to them and ugh- my favourite. Hope you enjoy too ;)
❄️- Oh my God I know exactly what this fic is. I really, REALLY want a fic dealing with the aftermath of Hydra and Department X/The Red Room's brainwashing on Bucky in TFAWS era, but in a way where it doesn't become the point of the fic, and is just like a part of him in subtle, slightly noticeable, and not overwhelming way. I want to see him struggle and yet stay strong, stay independent. I want to see him have realistic feelings towards things like therapy and such, considering the time period he is from, and the fact that he's probably been abused in such settings before. I want to see him make bad, unhealthy decisions while still remaining himself. I want to see him smoke his anger away, I want his staring problem to be addressed subtly as a leftover from when he was trained to look straight ahead while in parade rest, I really want to see him have headaches, mild psychosis, and all the realistic after-effects of electro-shock therapy, and yet, I really do not want to see it in a way that makes him dependent, or child-like. I want to see him get up, grit his jaw and move on. It isn't the healthiest way for somebody to cope, but it's the way I am guessing Bucky would cope. I want a fic that has an overarching plot where these issues are a subplot, as not to make it ALL about his recovery, instead being interesting and realistic in the world that he would be living in. I feel like I have said realistic so many times, and that is the core of it all. I want it to be as realistic and true to comic/film character as possible. I might not make much sense but yeah! That's what I really want to read, and I don't know who would be the best writer to write it!
🍄- OOOH I like this one! A headcanon I have is that Bucky and Natasha dance a lot. They are both trained dancers, and they love it, and they just put on gentle, nostalgic Russian music and dance so prettily together when they are alone!
🏜️- Oh for sure the types of comments that point out what affected them personally. I really want to connect to people through my writing and whenever somebody comments that a certain bit made them feel in a specific way I just absolutely melt in joy and delight!!!
Thank you so much for the many questions again, this was SO much fun to answer. Hope you have the loveliest of days!!!

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @magnetarmadda; thank you!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
252, of which a full 227 are TMA
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
905,246
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Recently? TMA/TMagP, Discworld, and Good Omens. I'll jump into anything that gives me plot bunnies though, and there's been quite a few different ones over the years!
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Yesterday is Here
Déjà Vu
Misfiled and Misinformed
Humanity
Against All Probability
5. Do you respond to comments?
Always! I try to clear my inbox weekly and/or before I post a new fic, though I'm falling a bit behind right now with JonMartinWeek.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmm, probably Wedding Blues - it's a bad-ending Lonely!Martin fic
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
So, I write a lot of happy endings and I'm not sure how to rank them. Probably either Yesterday is Here again, or the Castaways series.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I think I've only ever gotten one hate comment? So no, not really.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I... try? I'm not very good at it and it takes absolute ages. It's been described as "very polite" smut, though I'm attempting to get a little raunchier with it as I get more practice.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yeah, I've written a couple! The craziest is probably the first one I did, a Good Omens/Skulduggery Pleasant crossover that I'm still quite fond of.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep, Unsent and Courage in the Dark have both been translated into Russian!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I don't know if I can give just one, honestly. For different reasons, both JonMartin (TMA) and Ineffable Husbands (Good Omens, primarily book not show).
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
This is a throwback but I still have notes for an epic, multi-part, 100k Gracious/Donegan origin story fic from back in my Skulduggery Pleasant days. I wasn't a good enough writer back then to finish something that ambitious and I doubt I'll ever get invested enough in the fandom again to go back to it... but it still lives on in my daydreams.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm... I'm good at conveying character emotions in a scene, and with pacing a story to make sure each new development or twist lands the way I want it to. I like to think I've got a knack for making dialogue sound in-character as well, even if I've put the characters in a situation that their canon selves would never be in.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action scenes. Balancing conversations between more than two people without having some of them drop off or dominate the scene. Keeping track of large casts of characters in general - I've written so many 2-person romances, I just don't have practice with larger groups.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it when other people do, but it's not something I've attempted myself. I'm only fluent in English and I'd worry that I'd written something completely inaccurate if I had to rely on google translate or similar.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Good Omens! (Book)
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh, do not ask me that, I beg of you. There are about a hundred fics I've written that could all qualify, depending on the day and what mood I'm in.
...I'll say Vous, et nul autre, for now, because I'm really proud of how that one turned out and the fact that I finished it at all - it's one of those that I had the idea for years before I was good enough to write it, and I really like being able to look at it now and see how far I've come.
Tagging... @my-lonely-angel, @fridayyy-13th, @grahamfolgersdeliciousnotebooks - only if y'all want to!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you for the tag, @leatafandom! All right, here we go!
How many works do you have on AO3? 97, as of answering this.
What's your total AO3 word count? Uhm, *checks notes* a lot. My total word count is a lot.
What Fandoms do you write for? Well, I write for Spider-Man, Deadpool, Batman, and Danny Phantom mostly.
What are your top five by kudos? Won't Be Slain Here, New Amsterdam, Tales of the Glories, Finding the Lost, and A Safe Place.
Do you respond to comments? I do, but only when I've just posted something. Whether that's another chapter or a one-shot, I wait until I've posted something to respond. (So if it takes a while for me to respond to a comment, that's why.)
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? That would have to be If Only In My Dreams. Or maybe Dance 'Till You're Dead. Eh, it's a toss up between those two.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Eh--most of them? I like to think most of my endings are happy, or at least bittersweet.
Do you get hate on fics? I haven't. Mostly my audience has been pretty nice in their comments.
Do you write smut? Pardon my uncontrollable laughter at the thought of me actually managing to write a smut scene.
Do you write crossovers? I mean, almost all my fics are crossovers of some kind. Crossover between Deadpool and Spider-Man, crossover between Danny Phantom and Batman--it would be faster to list the ones that aren't.
What's the craziest one you've written? Okay, Imma need a definition on "crazy," because these are comic book/cartoon worlds with that kind of logic and I'm honestly not sure where the "crazy meter" is.
Have you ever had a fic translated? I've had people ask if it's okay to translate my fics, and I've said "Yes" (anyone reading this, it is ALWAYS okay to translate my stuff), but I've never been linked so I don't know if it was actually translated or if the person asking bit off more than they could chew. (Happens.)
Have you ever co-written a fic before? My friend, I am a terrible collab partner. Everyone who has ever collaborated with me will tell you.
What's your all time favorite ship? Why do I have to pick just one?
What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? *sips tea*
What are your writing strengths? Small, soft scenes where characters are just bonding. (Although I've been told my angst is very well done.)
What are your writing weaknesses? Fight scenes. My fight scenes are just terrible. I avoid them like the plague. (Which is not easy in my fandoms!)
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I will not do it. I will write something along the lines of "so and so spoke Russian" or "(character) didn't understand the language being spoken," or I'll put brackets around the other language as a clue to readers that there is another language, but I only fluently speak one language and I do not trust Google Translate.
First Fandom you wrote for? The first ever fandom I wrote for was Sailor Moon, and that was on the Neopet Message boards way back when which means no one can bring them up as examples of how cringe my writing is.
Favorite fic you've written? Again, how can I pick just one?
Once again, thanks for the tag! This was a lot of fun!
No pressure tags! @deniigi, @the-stove-is-on-fire, @thekenwick, @writerwhat

20 Fanfic Questions
Thanks for the tag (days and days ago now) @randomfoggytiger.
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 21 as of today, which is kind of wild. (I have some on Gossamer, too, because: old.)
2. What's your total AO3 words count?306,501. Working on another longer-ish one that will bump that up.
3. What fandoms do you write for?The X-Files by and large. One time I wrote a fic for a very popular fandom of the 00s I never actually posted, and now I feel differently about that fandom and never will. I can imagine a world where I might write for another fandom, but I am pretty XF-centric right now.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?Chicken Dinner, Pause, The Boy on the Beach, The Kaleidoscope, Unobserved.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?I do respond to comments, but not all the time. I get behind in responding, and then I have to not respond to any of them to make it consistent, if that makes any sense at all? (Because someone might wonder—why did she respond to that comment and not to mine?) I know, I know, I'm sorry.  I honestly love every single comment, and I prefer to respond to them. When I have my life together, I have had great conversations in comments before.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? As I read over my work, I have not done a lot of angsty endings, although I have plenty of angst. I have a very old fic written the summer between season 7 and 8 called Opposition and Synthesis (one of many post-Requiem fics) that is on Gossamer and ends angsty, but that’s not a widely read piece any more, lol. I would say of my more recent work, probably Ice Water ends the angstiest.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I have lots of happy endings. I couldn’t say.
8. Do you get hate on fics?Nooooo, not per se. I have gotten very critical comments from people who are disappointed by the turn the fic has taken, or comments taking issue with my interpretation of canon. I remember someone didn’t like the idea of Scully going on dates at all in the break-up era, and they complained about that in the comments on End of Story. That’s a difference in headcanon, so sometimes it’s frustrating when people feel theirs should prevail. But I haven’t really received what I would call “hate” exactly (so far) for which I am grateful.
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind? I have, but it’s not my favorite. It’s completely hypocritical of me because I like to read it, but it’s not my most comfortable area of writing. I think it’s a problem of not being terribly visual.  I do feel sometimes it’s necessary to a story, and my betas peer pressure me into including it sometimes, too.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?I haven’t.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes. People translated some of my fic into Russian one time.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? No. I would like to do that.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship? Mulder and Scully. Duh.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Okay, I have told this story a few times, so bear with me if you’ve heard it, but I had a WIP I hadn’t finished between 2000-ish and 2021. That’s right. Twenty years. It would be very reasonable to assume I was never finishing that fic, as the first two parts had been up on Gossamer for years and I had not been seen or heard from in decades. Then during the pandemic I came back to thinking about the show, and when I came back to the fandom there were oddly people who still knew my fic. And I remembered this WIP and still had some of the ancient Word files of later chapters on my Google drive, so I decided to make a little project of finishing it and posting it to AO3. And now it’s finished. (It’s called Bloodline. You can read it and see if you can tell where the narrative is written 20 years apart.)  So I don’t believe in doubting you’ll ever finish WIPs. Never say never.
16. What are your writing strengths? I think dialogue. I would not have said plotting when I restarted this hobby, but I do think I have gotten better at plotting. And I do plan things out. I do a lot of research.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Smut. Logistics in moving around in general – like when someone is standing or sitting and how they move from one place in the room to the other. I write in present tense a lot but past tense sometimes, so sometimes I mess up tense absent-mindedly. I’m also a very slow writer who rewrites a lot. When I see people get a prompt and then post the fic a few days later, my mind is blown, because I could absolutely never. People who do Fictober also have my deep respect, because that would be a very, very hard thing for me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I would only do it very sparingly or with extensive help, as I’m not a fluent speaker in anything but English. I could probably write a little French or Spanish dialogue to understand (I think I did write a tiny bit of Spanish dialogue in We’re Not Here To Get Involved In Personal Problems). But I would really want a more fluent speaker to look it over if I were doing any significant amount.
19. First fandom you wrote for? The X-Files, really, if you don’t count that middle school Victoria Holt romance novel sequel I wrote for English class.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written? I’m going to choose three, okay? Is that egotistical? I’m sorry if so. I’ve always really liked Jackson Van De Kamp’s Not-So-Final Repose. It’s not perfect, but it’s quirky and fantastical and sentimental and has a special place in my heart. It’s also more like a play, which is probably one of the genres my writing is most influenced by. I also really like The Boy on the Beach, which took a year to write and involved so, so much research, which was fun and a positive experience. Finally, I like How To Eat Pleasant Holiday Meals With Co-Workers, which was a prompt for a holiday exchange (early MSR Thanksgiving) that I expanded into a series of Thanksgivings over the years. I ended up really enjoying imagining each of those Thanksgivings, especially the last one. That last one is my forever post-revival headcanon now lol.
Would anyone like to do this? I'm going to tag @mollybecameanengineer if she hasn't yet, but anyone should.

Since you guys seem to like my chem teacher, I might just introduce the other teachers too
CZECH
Strict but also not
Tells us innapropriate jokes
Hangs candy on a tree that's hanging over her fence so kids passing by can take it
Has been present at the centre of Velvet revolution while pregnant. This woman was growing a new human inside of her body and still wanted to be present at the square when Gott and Kryl sang the national anthem
Was interested in a book I brought to class one day so much that she wanted to borrow it
Loves Dead poets society
Literally a manager of an orchestra
Lets us eat during class
Has a resignation letter thing ready at all times in case she just decides to quit, she's prepared for anything
She can be absolutely terrifying but she's also an absolute sweetheart and she teaches so well
When Adam tagged her (as in "tag you're it") she laughed and then ran up to me and tagged me
Disappointed by the lack of knowledge about culture we have
Honestly she's an icon idk what to tell you
Cool teaching methods
Probably will yell at you when you say something stupid but she's actually calm and that yelling somehow works to fix your stupidity? It's magic or something
Told us how many marks we need for her to be able to give us the final mark and let us just chill when we had them, no more tests
She just knows so much stuff
Her son is a doctor, ex army doctor I think? She must have passed the cool smart genes to her kids
Apparently one time I gave her some work of mine to read and then forgot it but she remembers? I'm so afraid what kind of cringe that must have been
Doesn't call me just by my name but by a sort of nickname (literally not even my own mom uses the affectionate version of my name)
Promised to give me a chocolate after partaking in the czech olympics regionals
Literally more proud of me than my family haha
Also teaches German. But speaks even Russian and I think French? And a bit of Latin. And obvi English.
Travelled a lot in her youth, it seems?
Keeps calling herself a grandma xd
Has absolutely stellar hearing and idk how she does that
She's an lgbt ally, yay!
Also wants equal marriage if she can be in a registered partnership (because she doesn't want to get married, she considers it long, boring and unnecessary at her age. And she doesn't need the benefits that marriage has)
Once described types of men using trees... It was a very interesting conversation
Accepted the fact that instead of a summary of one book I wrote about how it represents a metaphor for something because I misunderstood the wording of the assignment. She didn't let it slide with one other guy because he literally wrote the thing that showed up when you searched it up on Google but she let me and my explanation of three different ways the metaphor can work live and honestly I love her for that
Sometimes makes German grammar references in class and makes the russian-taking group confused
Tells us fun facts about the works we talk about in literature
Always says everything how it is
Will call you an idiot (affectionate)
HISTORY
Plays the guitar - both electric and acoustic
Was at a Pink Floyd concert recently
Has a motorcycle
And a cool aviator-like leather jacket (refuses to tell us where he got it, it's top secret)
For some reason is dating our bio teacher and we kind of pity him because at least to us she's mostly a bitch lmao
Tells bad jokes and worse stories (but we love it)
Tells us random innapropriate historical facts (apparently Napoleon didn't last long in bed and idk why he knows that)
Or says something about his past career or family history (randomly drops in how his ancestor had to ski back from Italy after ww1 or something about a client whose family tree he made)
Loves romanticism era literature
Goes fishing
One time he told me I look like I'm going to die (I'm very pale and it was summer)
Used to be my English teacher and it was amazing, we we wrote a postcard from a vacation to our principal and he made a rude comment about him and then quickly told us not to write that
Laughs whenever I have to go to the student council meeting because we both know something about toilets is going to be said
Had me read in the school announcement thing because he remembered that I was in poetry reciting competitions
Also made me start the teacher's day with greeting them as colleagues and then saying "this is prof. *his name* but 20 years younger with a soft, velvety voice"
Actually made me read a second thing there recently because he thinks I have a nice voice
My father figure lmao
We had a totally peaceful discussion about ancient and modern history and which one is better (it's ancient history and I will die on this hill)
Took selfies with us on a trip
Complains about how "see? If they paid attention in their history class, they would see where it was going and this whole thing could be prevented"
When he decided to make me suffer and ask me questions in front of the board (verbal exam) he asked stupidly formulated questions so I gave him just as dumb answers ("and what are these men in the photo doing?" "standing in front of a vagon" *shocked laughter* "I mean, yes, but I meant what are their jobs or... You know" "well you didn't say that" "that's valid")
Makes fun reanactments of situations he's explaining (that could be colonising, class enemies, literally whatever) and it's so fun
But also likes to make me suffer. Literally touched a pen during class? Amazing tell me everything you know about the current situation of native Americans in America (we were talking about the American revolution and this was kind of off topic but I can't really complain because I knew anyways).
Knew I love Joan of Arc, had an assignment about her ready and it was a free topic that he didn't assign to anybody, still decided to make me write my assignment on the structure of society in the middle ages (which you have literally not even one slide of info about because it just isn't that complicated unless you want to go into unnecessary detail which he hates so I was forced into writing a slide about my opinion comparing the society in the middle ages with the current one)
Just enjoys giving me harder assignment with a smirk that makes me want to punch him so bad (still adore him tho)
After I tagged him at lunch (literally ran past him, punched him arm as I was in full speed sprint and yelled "you're it!" in the full dining hall), he called me and my friend (they were filming it) into his office and then turned to one of my friends, tapped her shoulder with one finger and said "you're it." and we honestly lost it
One time accidentally said the Romans had rectangular squares (instead of shields) and I had a fit of laugher and he attempted to send me to the hall to calm down but when I got up to go I literally collapsed on the floor in a stronger fit of laughter and he started laughing at me
Loves to recommend historical movies. Or criticise them, for that matter.
Shittalked one Marie Terezie series with me
Has extremely cool hair
We actually made a meme about him being the hottest teacher and I really hope he has seen it. I might print it and give it to him at the end of the year, who knows
One time during a gingerbread thing I will describe somewhere a bit lower, I needed to make a good symmetrical cross (+) but screwed up so I just turned it into The sword in the stone and joked about giving it to him. Our main teacher actually did give it to him and he thanked me in the hall and I was so confused because I had no idea
One time I accidentally sent him a meme instead of an assignment. A Henry VIII meme. A really bad one.
One time I sent him a meme on purpose, tho. One about Romulus and Remus. He asked me about it and then told me he will be looking forward to receiving more memes in the future
GEO/BIO (aka our main teacher)
Makes tremendous exams even worse by forcing you to recognise pictures of the stuff. Cultural heritage places, trees that look literally the same, freaking moss that you can't tell apart let alone based on a projected photo...
Made us do damn maps of every continent. But at least three for each - river systems, terrain, and then possibly just classic geography. Also made us remember the capitals of every single European state which made me want to stab her because despite being slavic i keep switching some of the balkan countries
Lab work. Just. Lab work is pain.
You know about these weirs streams where it's just someone peeling an egg? Yeah she made us go that during our lab work
Also forced me to go to the bio olympics and j hate her for that because I don't even like biology
Literally makes me and my friend aka the responsible ones do so much stuff that we have basically no free time so she can kiss my ass
I hate her sm
Complains about being overworked, proceeds to dump half her work on teenagers
She sucks most of the time
Only nice to our medic group
Like. She buys us food after competitions
That doesn't change the fact that she's evil and overworks me constantly. One time I screwed my shoulder up after a full day of running around and running errands and carrying stuff and running upstairs with it and-- yeah I was in pain so I don't like her
Actually made us spend part of our Christmas break in the school kitchens baking and decorating gingerbread and doing other arts and crafts for some charity thing. I love charity events but once again I was sick and tired and had no free time
Makes our medic club do a thing where we explain first aid to kids. This includes minimum time to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. One time I got a fever and still had to stay there. When I finally got home, I passed out haha. Spent the next two weeks in agonising muscle pain with a cold and a fever. Once again I refuse to forgive her for making me stay there.
PHYSICS
Kind of a pedo if I'm being honest
Somehow always manages to mess up whatever he's explaining and teach us wrong information
Tests basically each class
Sometimes can be convinced to play physics themed Kahoot
Old man
Just... So weird and random
Muted the whole class on zoom during quarantine and then complained that noone responded (we were texting in the chat but he ignored that)
So many weird zoom stories
Has that shirt + beige pants fit
Does so much weird stuff that he refuses to explain because "that's between heaven and earth"
Please just elaborate for once
Exams fron things he never even talked about because why not
MATH
Sometimes tells us what nails she is planning to get
Always get the worst bowl/helmet cut and then when it finally grows out a bit she does it again. My heart weeps.
Once made someone cry during geometry??
Threw someone's pen from the window
Threatens to throw more stuff
Honestly so done with us sometimes
Rocks red and black fits most of the time
Wear a light scarf sometimes because it's cold
Keeps saying it's trivial (it either isn't or we're just stupid, jury's still out)
Wears heels all basically all the time
Probably so done with me because I just can't count haha
Loves us but sometimes we piss her off
Sometimes we just have gossip session about our main teacher because she dislikes her as well
Complains about the specific blue chairs we have and use sometimes and she's so real for that
MUSIC
Weird
Somehow made us watch psychological horror movie based on a fairytale (probably of German origin like the most of them) instead of... Idk. Something related to the class.
Going out consists of walking to a nearby pub/restaurant and sitting in the garden area
Or the basketball court thing
Thinks he is a local celebrity (he's not exactly correct)
English
The sweetest
Made us a traditional Ukrainian Christmas dish
Me and my friend made her a list of classic Czech movies we reccomend
Always says "girls, why are you so late?" when you come in not even a minute after the bell rings
Thought I'm from a bilingual family lol
Sometimes we discuss and compare Czech and Ukrainian traditions in English
Confusing pronunciation
One time she said the name Shakespeare in such a funny way but she's sweet so we don't want to tell her
Watched the new Puss in Boots movie with us in class, told us we can bring snacks
ART/P.E.
A lesbian
Has asthma
Loves art and art history
Seriously she's like me from another universe
Plays audiobooks during art class
Grades mostly based of effort
Made big canvas paintings with us and then decorated the school with them and that was something new and revolutionary
She's cool, I like her
Used to be an equestrian, apparently?
Makes art history quizzes on her insta stories
So many boob flower pots and sketches of women... I love it xd
Oh yeah she also does ceramics and makes cups and flower pots and stuff
RUSSIAN
Sweetheart as well
Used to be my English teacher before we switched groups
So done with pur group sometimes
Very excited to teach us the longest or funniest words like достопримечательности
One time she watched Masha and the bear with us during class
And Jen Počkej Zajíci (Ну погоди) even tho it's basically the same in all languages since there's minimum speaking
Also made us recite a poem about lunch during the week and I still remember it after rlike three years and I hate that

@feralrookie tagged me in this, thank you!
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
115
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
303,945
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now it's mostly Trigun. I have a few ideas I wanna do for Mob Psycho and JJK though, so i'll probably try to get those in between trigun fic.
But in the past i have mostly written for Good omens, the mandalorian, the old guard, the sandman and detroit become human.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
It's the Tenderness of it All (Good Omens)
Bloodfeather (Good Omens)
One Long Weekend (Final Fantasy XV)
Every so often, history repeats (The Sandman)
Bad Day (Overwatch)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
In the past i have not been good a replying to comments, but that is something that I want to get better at! And i have been doing better!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Experimentation is a hurt no comfort old guard fic, and that's as close to an angsty ending as i'll ever get.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most things i write end up with a happy ending tbh
8. Do you get hate on fic?
I’ve never gotten hate, per se. but I did once have someone copy my fic into a google doc, edit and change it to how they saw fit and then post a link to the gdoc in a comment on the fic.
9. Do you write smut?
A little bit!
10. Do you write crossovers?
I have written crossovers! I've got a lot of dincobb adjacent crossovers, and i have some good omens adajent as well, but that wasn't posted on my main.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
One of my Dincobb fics has been translated into Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but depending on the story, ship and person, I could be open to collaborating on a fic.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
This is such a hard question honestly. I think i've written the most of dincobb, but it's hard to say they are my ultimate favorite
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but probably won't?
I started writing this dincobb meetugly fic, where Din accidentally hits Cobb with his car and is the only one to visit him in the hospital and they become friends and fall in love. But I don’t know if I’ll ever finished it :( the last season of Mando kinda soured me on the show. It’s nearly 5k so maybe one day I’ll get back to it.
or i'll rewrite it for a different ship.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I feel like i'm good at writing dialogue and i'm pretty good at getting a characters voice right.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I am just not good at writing any kind of complicated plots, I’m also not great at writing anything that’s not centered around hurt/comfort. I also feel like i'm weak when it comes to writing action.

20 questions game!
thanks for the tag @displayheartcode ~
tagging @eskildit @ghosthorse @injustspring and whomstever else
How many works do you have on AO3?
119! but i also used to have a livejournal and three different ff.net accounts so....there's definitely a lot more floating around out there.............
2. What's your total AO3 words count?
598,242
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently only Lockwood & Co., but I used to write a lot of Check, Please! back in the day.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
lol they're all OMGCP. like a handprint on my heart (2,880 kudos), i'll see you with your laughter lines (2 412 kudos), until your father's at the table (1 702), smaller than dust on this map (1 222), Blue-Eyed Jack (1 051)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
yes! i want people to know how much I appreciate their feedback, and i enjoy interacting with the community. if i didn't, i wouldn't publish my fic i would just hoard it for myself haha
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmmmmm well i do like to kill main characters for the angst so probably either rage, rage against the dying of the light (lockwood fic written I think right after Whispering Skull came out? god what a cheesy title) or anything for one more hour of light (written for the check please heartbreak 2017 fest)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
i tend towards happy endings in fic so that's a lot of them lol. maybe like a handprint on my heart?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i get occassionally rude comments on ao3 itself but never anything really bad. i used to get quite a few nasty anons on here though. some people will REALLY go out of their way to tell you exactly why your writing is cringe.
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?
i did during my stint in the check, please! fandom but i don't really write it anymore. i would definitely call my past smut messy (in many ways).
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
i like to do crossover AUs -- harry potter aus, hunger games aus, etc. -- but I cannot remember the last time I did a proper crossover. it might've been back in my twilight days, if ever.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i'm aware of! i honestly haven't even heard of fic stealing since the days of ff.net but i guess it's not surprising it's still rampant
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes! at least one in russian, i want to say another in mandarin. i would have to go back and find them, and some might be gone.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
not fully cowritten, but @ghosthorse and i like to plot out stories together. we have a couple original stories half-baked in google docs from when we were living in different states and got REALLY bored at work.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
my ships change with the tides. i'm a pretty big sucker for locklyle, though, and zimbits. i tend towards rare-pairs and non-canon pairings though.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
every WIP i've ever started lol. but i would like to get back to for it's better to burn out than to fade out of sight (fruits basket) though i doubt i will.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I tend to capture the voices of characters decently well. I love writing dialogue and banter.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
EVERYTHING ELSE HAHAHAHAHHA (crying). I've been told my writing is very cringy and I tend to agree. I struggle with plot and pacing, I don't spend enough time on setting or building up to important scenes/moments, I almost never edit before I post, I'm very bad about contradicting myself between chapters or creating plot holes, I overuse adjectives and adverbs and commas and em-dashes and semicolons, I love a run-on sentence, I misuse big words, and I have a tendency to rely too heavily on the same couple of phrases -- e.g. taken aback, testament to, gave them pause, blood ran cold, face grew hot, etc.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I generally don't do it, but if you do, run it by a native speaker first.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
First wrote for Harry Potter or Bartimaeus, first published for Twilight. (Okay not QUITE accurate. I technically published HP fic but on my own shitty HTML website. My dad wouldn't let me join any fic site because I was too young, but he saw it as a great chance to get my to learn HTML. It was called "Visions of Red and Gold" and I posted my shitty fanfiction and mine and my friends' fanart.) This was the image on the home page that you had to select to get into the site:
Tumblr media
Yikes!
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
oh this is hard. i'm currently very fond of Jessica Lockwood’s Home for Misfit Ghost Hunters, it's been a delight to work on. but my all-time fave is probably until your father's at the table. it was incredibly cathartic to write.

Hi guys, taking a moment to step away from fun video game/ live streaming/ podcast things to put this out there (sorry it gets a bit rambley): If your only issues with Biden are "old" and "has a stutter" and that's making you seriously consider if you want to vote for him, congratulations, you're agist and ableist. Let's just cross the age thing off from both lists, shall we? One of them doesn't seem to be having any issues with running this country regardless of his age, and the other one has a long enough list of other issues going on that his age would be the least worrying thing even if it was an issue. Also, since I've seen a number of people make these points when scrolling through the reblogs, just gonna put these things out there: * Roe v. Wade got overturned because of Trump, the people who voted for him, and the people who voted third party or didn't vote at all during the 2016 election. It doesn't matter whose administration it got overturned during. The reason it got overtured was because of the judges Trump put on the Supreme Court. So if you're upset about Roe v. Wade being overturned, and you voted third party or didn't vote at all in 2016 and bought into the "Hillary is just as bad as Trump" bullshit, congratulations, that one's on you. * Tara Reid, the woman who accused Biden of rape, fled to Moscow a few months ago and has spoken on Russian propaganda networks since. And her credibility wasn't all that great even before that. She also already had a history of being a Putin sympathizer. If you actually google her, the more you look into her and her allegations, the more the whole thing stinks. And when you take that in the context of everything that's happened between the 2016 election and today between the US and Russia, it shouldn't take that much critical thinking to put 2 and 2 together and make 4. * And if you need to reach back to something that Biden did as a senator in...what, the 1970's/80's/ 90's? to try and claim that Biden is racist today, in 2023, then I want you to take a long hard think and see if you can figure out for yourself why trying to use something from 30-50 years ago as "proof" that someone is racist today might reflect more poorly on you than it does on them. People change. As recently as 15 years ago there were people who were against gay marriage, either entirely or because they thought Civil Unions were a "good enough compromise" or w/e, who today understand why that stance was problematic and have evolved with the times. Same deal goes for many other LGBTQ+ issues. Same deal goes for women's rights. Same deal goes for race issues. If you have to go back decades to support your claim that someone is racist or any other kind of bigot, with nothing more recent (like, say, within the last 5 years? I'd say 10 but even that can be stretching it. Can you honestly say you held 100% the same beliefs now that you did a decade ago, or have you evolved and changed as you learned new things?), then you have nothing. I could go on, but this is already super long.
As a final note (and I know it's long, so the TL;DR is fact check, verify, don't take anything you hear second hand at face value): Always fact check if you're getting information from a secondary source (whether it be through the social media grape vine or an article you read). Always verify. If you see people criticizing a politician or other public figure for something they said, always double check the context--find the original source and read/ watch the whole thing, if you can. And if someone shares a source or fact checking resource with you that contradicts something that you've said or shared, always read the whole thing. A lot of times, it turns out that in context, what the person said isn't nearly as bad. Sometimes, like in the case of Trump, the full context ends up being so much worse than just the snippet that got quoted. I can't tell you the number of times I have seen with my own eyeballs someone say they didn't like Biden or Hillary or whoever because they had said xyz thing, who then admitted it wasn't nearly as bad as they had thought once they were linked to the original source and knew the full context.
I also can't tell you how many times I looked through articles friends had shared on Facebook that were making a claim, that linked to sources that allegedly backed up that claim, only for those links to in fact not back up the claim at all when I actually looked into them to verify the information. There is so much propaganda out there coming from sources that are trying to make our country weaker and weaker, and they would love nothing more than to put Trump back into power and repeat their success from 2016. The best way to make sure they don't win is to always question, always fact check and verify, and never share something without verifying, no matter how much you like the sound of what it says or want it to be true. If you actually care about LGBTQ+ issues, or civil rights, or women's rights, or preventing the right from rewriting history in terms of what kids learn in schools, or protecting libraries (and the books within), or access to education or all of the other things that people on the left claim to care about, you'll do what needs to be done. I once read an article that pointed out that what people call a "vote of conscience" is a misnomer, and it should be called a "vote of ego." Your conscience is supposed to be what guides you to do the right thing, even if it's not something you want to do, while your ego leads you to do what feels good to you even if it ends up having negative consequences later. When you vote, make sure what you're making really is a vote of conscience, and not a vote of ego. The consequences of the 2016 election and how close the 2020 election were prove just how important that distinction is.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, your regularly scheduled anime/ video game/ podcast/ book/ etc. programming will resume shortly.

Look, Biden isn't my first choice, either. But it's going to be one of these two guys, and I'm not voting for the rapist.

A review of Perseus' grandson - Translator adventures
Part 1 Episodes 3-5 + Bonus part
The first post about it is here
Heya ! Yes, I'm still reading that book despite my incredibly slow pace and my opinion of it is still positive. I'm just a big procrastinator.
As usual, I'd like to thank @alaknog for guiding me on this journey.
Now, onto the review, because oh boy do I have stuff to say about it. Also @margaretkart, I suggest you check this out, especially the last part 👀
EP 3 :
Ok, so after defeating Phireus and Lycus' mother (without killing her), Perseus challenges his grandson.
They do some sporty competition, I think a race. Naked. Iirc it's traditional in ancient Greece.
The details are difficult to describe, because translation, but it seems to be a race across the town.
Amphitryon sees the chance to avoid being punished by his grandfather from running away without permission
He was born in Mycenae but after Electryon started ruling over it, Perseus and Alcaeus came back to Tyrinthis.
From this period, Amphitryon stopped fearing his grandfather as much as he admired him
Ok more about Perseus : he's a very challenging grandfather who's not known to have a lot of humor. We also learn about his decisions as king, some buildings and roads he built in Tyrinthis.
Then we have an important interaction between grandfather and grandson.
Basically, after succeeding in the challenge, Amphitryon asks Perseus why he didn't kill the crazed mom (whose name is Kiniskaya apparently).
Perseus then wonders if it was necessary and his grandson answers yes. Then Perseus turns to him and says that the next time, Amphitryon should be the one to deliver the final blow.
Amphitryon refuses, too scared to do it.
He also remembers the events of the previous chapter (crazy mother, dead baby, Perseus fighting her). He even fears for his own mother's sanity
Amphitryon imagines what would've happened if he had killed Lycus' mother himself. How the brothers would have hated him despite his good intentions and forgiven their mother.
The nightmare only begins and Amphitryon wonders if the twins were right in chapter 1 and that he IS cursed.
My opinions
My favorite aspect here is the characterization, something that lacked a bit in the two first chapters. Especially of Amphitryon
He's shown as a proud and a mischievous boy who caused some shenanigans in the town, but he also worries for his loved ones. He's not as reactive and courageous as his grandfather. Honestly, even with the clunky Google translation, we can still have a view of Amphitryon's personality.
And Perseus being a stern badass grandpa is something I never knew I needed. We also learn that Perseus built a stadium for the Mycenaeans, to cultivate their spirit of competition and sport. Idk it's a fun detail to see Perseus being some kind of coach for both Amphitryon and his subjects.
EP 4 :
Ok, now we're having some interaction between Amphitryon and Alcaeus, who tidies up stuff in an armory.
Here, Alcaeus is described as Perseus' eldest son... interesting.
Amphitryon really wants to share the recent events with his father.
Alcaeus says that he now won't be a hero but a storyteller now.
After listening to the story Alcaeus says that this is very a bad sign. I mean, yeah, angry Dionysus is never a good thing.
Plus someone threatened Perseus that he'd end up like Lycurgus
Oh ! Now Amphitryon asks about Lycurgus. And Alcaeus tells him the myth we know.
Amphitryon initially admires Lycurgus, imagining being like the resisting king, forcing maenads to jump off cliffs rather than face him.
But there's a description that I really like : Alceus looking at his son with love, as he sees how naive Amphitryon is.
Anyways, the father explains to his son why Lycurgus' fate isn't admirable
And this discovery terrifies Amphitryon. He's afraid for his family's safety now.
There are some changes to the myths : like the fact that Lycurgus may not only have killed his son out of insanity, but also because Dryas worshipped Dionysus. Interesting 🤔 . Though I'll keep assuming the myth is canon here, since they talk about rumors.
Lycurgus let himself be executed, because of his son's betrayal and his subjects'. That's a sad way to see it.
I love how we DON'T get insight on Dionysus' perspective, like the death of his nurse or the fact that he was very young. It's the opponents' perspective and the god is presented as an alien menace acting in the shadows. It's way less a distant legend and more of a recent incident for them
Another interesting point is that Perseus is said to be the first one to be able to overtly hate Dionysus.
I presume it means Perseus has the time to resist and not die, which is a novelty. Perseus won't accept to die. According to the others, he'd bury everyone else before dying.
Alcaeus tries to change the subject by talking about some helmet. It doesn't work.
Amphitryon's mom suddenly comes in. Her name isn't the same as in the myths. It's either Astydameia, Hippodamia or Laonome. Here, the mother is named Lisidica.
Since she's a very minor character in mythology and not even consistent, I'll give it a pass. Not a very important detail.
Anyways, while Alcaeus compliments his father as a brave fighter, Lisidica finds him foolish and crazy, a bad influence for Amphitryon.
Alcaeus teases his wife, albeit a bit aggressively.
Lisidica is still a caring mother, wanting to protect her son. She smells like plants. Anyways, she wants to reassure Amphitryon that the gods are merciful. The recent events may show the opposite 😅
Something sad is that Amphitryon doesn't feel safe around his mother anymore because of Dionysus. No one does.
I forgot to say it before but the whole time, our heroes give Dionysus some kind of nicknames. Google translates it as "the shaggy", which is hilarious considering I associate that word with the Scooby-Doo character 🤣🤣.
More seriously, it's probably a reference to his unkept long hair. In my language, it also means fierce or wild, two adjectives that definitely fit Dionysus.
My opinions
Again, more insight on Amphitryon and his family. His dynamic with his father is really cute. Alcaeus clearly cares about his son and tries to protect him from Dionysus' chaos.
There's also a small dynamic with Lysidica that's interesting. For now, she's a normal mother that worries about her son and feels antagonistic about Perseus. But there's the suspense. Will she be spared ? Or will she too turn insane and face Amphitryon with some kind of dilemma ?
But Amphitryon is too curious and wants to act. Hearing about Lycurgus' fate made him afraid, but also even more ready to resist.
Dionysus still sounds like some ominous dark figure.
Anyways, I like it !
Ep 5
Ok, episode 5 is shorter and revolves more around Amphitryon interacting with the kids. They're fighting together but in a way that feels playful.
This chapter was harder to read than the previous one, because I had to repeat stuff and figure out the action.
Basically they're arguing because Triton explains his mother is a goddess but they don't believe him. His father was a helmsman apparently.
Reminder that the Triton in Perseus' grandson isn't Poseidon and Amphitrite's son. Critical detail.
A boy named Eurymachus teases Triton. Some stranger is mentioned, who's apparently familiar with fighting, watches.
One of the boy is called Giy, or Guy according to the translator. I think Gios or Gaios is the actual name so I'll call him that.
Gaios defends Eurymachus, before Amphitryon asks what if he was insulting Gaios' own father. And then Gaios just admits he'd punch Eurymachus 😅. The latter states that it already happened...
Then he laughs. All the others, except Eurymachus, laugh as well, including Triton.
Anyways, the rest of the chapter is the boys teasing each other in similar ways until they talk about Triton's father coming to Perseus' kingdom.
Amphitryon initially thought Triton's father wanted to wage war on Perseus, the gorgon slayer as they call him. But Triton confirms something even crazier : that his father wants to fight Dionysus. Lol 🤣
Triton's dad was getting drunk on wine and punching walls, ultimately too afraid to do anything.
Amphitryon initially tried to get interested in this dispute to forget about maenads and Dionysus. That failed.
And... we learn that Triton and his father are apparently the only survivors of a group of pirates.
Yup, we're getting the tyrrhenean pirates' myth now. The next part is named after them.
My opinions
This chapter was a short one :3
There are some interesting stuff to point out.
Firstly, some kind of pirates' revenge against Dionysus. I mean, it's a hopeless fight considering he'd absolutely wreck them, but psychologically speaking, it's interesting. Plus it rings like a sequel to that story.
Secondly, Amphitryon's feelings on the situation. How he's still scared, despite wanting to resist against the godly invader. I like this as well.
Parabasa - The tyrrhenian pirates
Ok, since @alaknog told me I'd particularly like to discover this part and because the segment on Ep5 was pretty short, I decided to add it as a bonus.
According to the glossary, the parabasa is a digression from the main story, so we follow another perspective. It's a flashback.
Here it seems to be Triton and his family. They're on a boat as they leave a land named Icaria.
Wait, hold on...
[..] Like a pimple on a flat spot, a handsome young man, the only passenger on the boat, stood upright and climbed aboard in Ikaria harbor. The young man needed to get to Naxos.
Oh... it's happening. That "handsome young man" description is wayyyyy too suspicious in this specific story. He's even described as feminine, the pirates want to bring him at a slave market and... ok that's Dionysus. He's not named throughout the whole part but recognizable to anyone who read the myth.
The pirates are like "yeaah, we're getting to Naxos, wink wink". The navigator and his nephew think they're slick but we as readers know how the story goes.
Dionysus answers something along the lines of "we're not going to Naxos. The sun is in the wrong direction, I can see it. Are you lying to me, misters ? That would be mean"
All the pirates are shown as a family, which is an interesting twist. I like how we're getting these precisions. Triton works with his brothers in attaching Dionysus to the mast, not only some random mean men. I like this angle.
And the pirates quickly go from laughing to fearing for their safety. Guess why ;)
Ok Dionysus shapeshifts from a young pretty boy to some big man with a tall unkempt hair and a big beard. I like how both common images of his character are meshed and integrated.
Then he's described like a force of nature : his neck like a tree, his roar like a lion's, his steps like a herd of wild animals.
The mast is full of vines, as well as the oars, worrying echo, shouting everywhere, grapes, the smell of wine everywhere. The vines move and boom, they change into snakes so venomous that even the wood melts.
The pirates COMPLETELY lost control here.
Dionysus is laughing the whole time, then changing into a lion, with panthers and other wild beasts at his side. The transformation is described in detail, with a lot of terrifying imagery
Triton's father shouts to Leucothea, hoping she'd come to them, as the rest of the family jump in the water in panic. Well, they rather fall than jump, unable to move in the water because of their fear of death
Triton hesitates to jump in the water but then, Leucothea comes in and saves his drowning father
Meanwhile, still on the boat, the boats and the vines disappear and now the "prisoner" is some naked 5yo. No, I'm not kidding. He looks squeaky clean and smiles in a way that is anything but childlike.
Then Leucothea just stares disapprovingly at the "child", which disappoints Triton (he expected his mom to throw him off the boat)
Dionysus, still in a kid form, orders to be untied in an adult voice. Then he just headbuts Triton in the stomach. Lol. Btw Triton notices he has horns. So horned Dionysus for the win !!
And he casually orders everyone to get him to Naxos again.
Only Triton's father was saved by Leucothea, who's shown to be pretty cold.
Then, as we come back to our main POV, Amphitryon asks if Dionysus couldn't untie himself. Triton answers that he doesn't know, maybe was he just playing with them all.
My opinions
Ok, so first off Dionysus is here. I get why I was supposed to particularly enjoy this part.
And what do I think of him ? Well, this is what adaptations should do with him ! Exploit his wild side, his status as god of madness. And he has a playful side, as the kid form shows. He's also like "you're nice, hemlsman", which mirrors the myth. Anyways, this version of Dionysus is approved for now.
Also, I like how the end of the story was changed. The pirates aren't all turned into dolphins (I think some still died). The others just got some free nightmare fuel from Dionysus.
So yeah, that's it for now :3
Next time, with hopefully less delay, I'll review the rest of part 1. I really enjoy reading this book and i'ts getting juicy !

Note
oh, and the last things i'll say about the master and margarita movie: 1) this interpetaion puts Master/Margarita relationship at the center and expands it, Master's character has lots of parallels to Bulgakov 2) A.Diehl speaks most lines in russian (or ADR them in post, but that's him), and the Jesus/Pilate parts were in Latin and then are "dubbed" in russian. 3) Moscow has Atomic Heart vibes 4) earlier 2005 russian adaptation originated the famous "Ball of Satan - Igor Korneluk", google it :)
all of this sounds so good honestly, and for a film adaptation I think would be the smartest to center the master and margarita and the romance to appeal to a wider audience that perhaps had not read the book
thanks so much for all this !!!!!!!
