hi hello, thank you for the encouragement and hugs! After some thought ive realized I do in fact have some hcs about some of the character dynamics in the movie as well as just kenji himself, cause hes captivated my entire brain:

Kenji & Emi

Emi does not have teeth but she does inexplicably have a teething phase. kenji is forced to hide all his (salvaged) fancy cars in the garage bc the corvette's already been chewed to hell and his heart is gonna give out if he has to watch any more classics get wrecked

he reads her bedtime stories. A lot of aesop's fables, because theyre short and fun and hes trying to raise his monster daughter with good morals. emi goes hogwild for these but its unclear if she actually understands what hes saying; kenji's pretty sure she just likes the silly voices he uses for different characters

they go flying together! they go first thing in the morning before breakfast - it helps kenji shake off the grogginess of sleep and emi gets to stretch her wings. shes not able to go very far for very long initially, but as she grows and gets those cardio gainz she almost gets to be quicker than him. they have races and play air tag :)

while she doesnt have the vocal range to speak english herself, it becomes clear that emi does understand it well. (kenji also develops an ear for her chirping/squawks, though body language & facial expressions play a big part in communication for both of them) during her (much later) rebellious phase she'll simply pretend not to know what's being said when kenji is telling her to do something she doesn't wanna do, which frustrates him to no end

Kenji

developed a pretty massive chip on his shoulder after moving to the states. it wasn't just bitterness over his dad staying behind, though that was a part of it. this is canon but he was picked on in school for "how [he talked], how [he looked] and what [he ate]." he felt like he had something to prove to both his father and the world. he threw himself into sports - specifically baseball - and his academics, and he did so well that it forced everyone to shut up about how he was different from them and focus on how he was better than them

^ playing off this: kenji had a bonkers fucking yonkers routine when he was a kid/in highschool. he'd get up hours before school started to practice his swing, go for a ~1hr run, workout, study, etc. He'd go to school, come home, and do it all again. this is exaggerated but my point is that this kid was DETERMINED and had the discipline to see that determination through to the end

didnt have many friends because of all aforementioned things. he had acquaintances, and he was invited to parties and outings and stuff (never went), but he spent most of his free time hanging out with his mom. he never really had a "parents are so embarrassing" phase. he always liked to do anything with his mother: going to the bank, going grocery shopping, watching cheesy telenovelas till ungodly hours in the morning, etc. she was his no.1 supporter, confidant, and best friend

he played for his university's baseball team and got scouted at 19. his mom forced him to finish his bachelor's first so once he graduated with his degree in kinesiology at 21, he was drafted to the dodgers

Kenji & Ami

both of them, up until meeting each other, were totally dedicated to their career (and child) so they had basically 0 time for friends. theyre both borderline losers but theyre juuust good enough at what they do for people to admire them instead of finding them sad and lowkey pathetic

kenji is way more into the idea of being friends than ami is. hes pretty enthusiastic about it; he thinks that they have a kind of rapport, since they share a similar work ethic and are both (unbeknownst to ami) single parents. he calls her to chat abt random things. ami initially isnt superrrr into it; she thinks kenji is kinda lonely and desperate for human connection, & it isnt until her mom points out that she has not spoken to anyone outside of work-related reasons in 10+ years that shes like oh shit, i am also lonely and desperate for human connection. so she grudgingly acquires a friend. theyre both really bad at it

need to clarify that in my mind their dynamic is 95% kenji yapping about work and drama in his personal life (circumventing the 8m baby kaiju hes raising) while ami goes "mhm mhm" and takes notes until kenji notices and is like What are you doing. at which point ami is like...... right . nothing. im listening. and forces herself to put the notepad away. she has a hard time disengaging from the reporter mindset and just hearing something intriguing without turning it into an article. the other 5% are the rare moments where theyre connecting super well - ami's psychoanalyzing the hell out of whatever kenji just said and hes like what are you my therapist. over time she starts opening up to him, too, and eventually theyre comfortable enough to be having philosophical discussions over breakfast just for funsies

before kenji reveals that hes ultraman, ami thinks hes in a gang. he keeps showing up to their lunch "dates" with like bruised eyes and fractured bones and gets all shifty when she tries to ask about what happened. when she eventually confronts him about it, hes so offended that she thinks hed be involved in something like that that he tells her about being ultraman

thats about all i can think of rn, though im sure ill think of more after rotating all the characters in my head for a while. thanks again for stopping in, i appreciate the support :)

Controversial opinion, especially for any Jason Todd fans out there (I'm one of them), but I completely understand why the fans in, the 80' I think, voted to kill him off. Hear me out, okay?

Jason was at first a literal Dick Grayson copy, was legit given his backstory and personality with the name being the only change. And for a while that was all they knew about and, rightfully so, hated about him. Now I'm not sure whether he was given the whole Alley kid who tried to steal Batman's tire story before or after his death but either way, in those fans' minds, Jason Todd was just a boring replica of Dick Grayson and no one liked him. If I was alive and a fan back then, I honestly would have done the same thing.

WHICH IS WHY I HAVE SUCH A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THE WRITERS DOING TO JASON THE EXACT SAME THING THAT GOT HIM KILLED OFF BEFORE!!!

Jason immediately after getting brought back to life was a villain. He wasn't misguided, he wasn't an antihero, my man was a Villain with a capital V. He didn't protect workings girls or children from any drugs or anything, he just made one off hand comment to a guy not to sell to kids and that's it. One of his only interactions with any prostitutes is to mock her for her past and decisions that led to her becoming one. Bruce did not abuse him or attack him unfairly. Jason had not only tried to kill Joker or other horrible villains, he killed anyone whether they were rapists, or robbers, or petty fucking thieves and he didn't do it for justice or whatever the fuck but because he was angry and taking it out on everyone he could get his hands on. He stopped Batman from going after Nightwing after Bludhaven blew up with him in it. He blew up a school. He beat up Tim in his little Robin panties and was a fucking villain.

I love Jason. But I love him as the messed up asshole he is. Not as some misguided wittle antihero. Which is why I despise the fact that the fandom latched onto the completely inaccurate version of him, because the writers of DC had started writing him the way the fandom wanted and he is now irreversibly ruined. Aside from the already mentioned stuff, they made him into a copy of Dick Grayson (for the second fucking time) and Helena Bertinelli.

Helena is the one protecting women and children, the antihero that often uses violent force. She's the one with the reluctant sibling relationship with Tim. Jason was not Tim's Robin by the way, Dick was. Tim does not like Jason one fucking bit and spends most of their forced interactions roasting him so bad he has to buy burn salves. Also her personality was taken and given to Jason in some ways too, like her manner of speech and stuff, but I'm willing to let that slide as accidental.

From Dick Grayson, they mostly took his relationships, romantic and platonic. Jason slept with Barbara and Kori both, which aside from just being dumb as hell is also weird and creepy because Jason is six years younger than them at least and they knew him as a fourteen year old when they were at least twenty, and they would never date someone so much younger than them, they aren't fucking creeps. Then they took Starfire and Arsenal and made them forget their own lives to join Jason's little antihero team (neither of them are antiheroes what the fuck) and act like the sun shines out of Jason's ass and he's their leader or some shit when they would never follow him before that, especially Roy who has led so many other teams and does not deserve that shit. Some fans also ship him and Jason, which is both creepy and character assassination for Roy's entire character more than him being friends with Jason and in the Outlaws already is.

Also, Pit Madness is not a thing you fucking brainless losers. Stop trying to justify and erase the flaws that make him an interesting character. His anger has always been due to the trauma of being tortured and dying and the misguided feeling of betrayal he felt for Bruce. He was unwell and taking his problems out on others. So, repeat after me: PIT MADNESS IS NOT A REAL THING!!!

Yes! Catwoman could be fun to write ^^ I used the Arkham wiki for her personality and appearance but this could probably go for any Catwoman. Takes place during no specific game.

Yandere! Arkham!Catwoman (Selina Kyle) Concept

Pairing: Platonic -> Romantic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Flirtatious behavior, Manipulation, Kidnapping, Blood, Protective/Possessive, Violence, Forced relationship.

Selina seems like she could be an interesting but docile yandere.

I say this as compared to most DC yanderes originating in Gotham she isn't really violent.

She is neither villain or hero and goes her own path.

While most would kill to keep their darling to themselves, Selina does not.

As a whole she avoids fatal force, stating she isn't psychopathic.

She steals things, that's how she's survived in this world.

She doesn't need murder to do it.

Like the Harley concept you requested I'm going to explore her going from platonic to romantic.

Selina isn't that bad of an ally when she decides to help.

Maybe how you meet is you're someone who helps Batman.

As in, maybe you're part of the Bat family in someway or just an ally.

Not necessarily as a hero, you could be a detective or something similar.

That way you and Selina would have crossed paths multiple times.

You are aware of the history Batman has with Catwoman.

Despite her being a criminal she can be helpful as a spy.

As a result your communication with each other may be sharing information to aid Batman.

Selina is a naturally flirtatious yandere.

As a platonic she could be teasing but would hold her flirting off for Batman.

Selina seems like she'd be okay as a friend with you.

Things between you primarily starts with exchanging information or small chats.

At first you're hesitant to converse with her.

Yet she eases your worries with her charm.

She'll be well behaved when you speak, she promises.

Your friendship with each other is strictly business related for awhile.

Nothing forced, it's mutual, especially when you two start to speak more outside of business.

Soon you two start to interact away from Batman.

You try not to let Batman know that you've become friends with the burglar.

Honestly, a friendship with Selina seems relatively normal.

She has a tendency to show up at strange times to speak with you as friends.

You could say she's stalking you... she is but she'd never tell you.

Selina is someone who plays her cards right.

She doesn't mind taking risks when it comes to you, like how it's a risk to hunt you down after a robbery.

Especially if you are an ally of Batman.

She picks her words around you and is manipulative at times.

As a friend she'll be simply looking out for you.

When she has time after one of her clients she'll hunt down your location and just watch.

If she feels up to it she prepares a conversation and meets up with you.

She's mostly the type to watch over you and doesn't drag you into many things.

She tries to respect your personal life and give you privacy.

But if you're out and about then... surely you won't mind if your friend follows, yeah?

You won't notice her anyways.

It's when she develops the more romantic type of feelings that she can become more intense.

Selina would be an intense romantic yandere.

Her friendly teasing over time becomes playful flirting.

You try to tell her to knock it off but she doesn't entirely want to listen.

She's stubborn.

Her occasional feelings of wanting to jump in to help you turns into something more sadistic.

Now she feels like getting her claws bloody for those who try to take what she feels is hers.

Speaking of taking what's hers, Selina would be on the more possessive side as a romantic yandere.

Plus, maybe she's even had eyes on you since you two became friends.

She just loves jewels.

If someone threatened you she'd step in regardless of how she feels.

Sometimes you have to get your claws dirty... but she'd never kill them.

Batman can do whatever he wishes with them, she's done what she wants with them.

While Selina isn't the most violent Gotham yandere, she'd certainly kidnap you.

She's a thief who takes what she wants.

You happen to be someone she wants once she realizes she loves you.

She stalks you from the darkness for a long time before pouncing.

She apologizes for betraying her trust but hopefully you forgive her reasoning.

Even if you didn't, she doesn't care.

Once she has you she's flirty yet caring.

She confesses the reason she hid you away was because she loves you.

She isn't sure why she didn't see it before.

She'll keep you in a room lined with her favorite pieces.

You look perfect in the middle on that bed she's picked.

She'll even steal you a few gifts to give you.

She even admits she's been jealous of the people you're around at times.

She wishes she made them blind with her claws.

Essentially, once she has you she confesses what she's been doing since she's known you.

She should've done this sooner.

lol might get hate for this but in my opinion in terms of the ranking the SuperBat pairings….

1.) Damijon/Jondami- Yes I’m completely bias but I never felt this strong for such a pairing (regardless either platonic/romantic! ) Such an iconic (chaotic) duo! I’m glad the dynamic of Damian and Jon worked out well and is well loved!

2.) Superbat-I mean they are the OGs and I can get why fans love their dynamic and pair them! I’m more bromance for them but I do look forward to their interactions whenever the two appear together!

3.) Timkon-I’m neutral for them. I like the fanarts if I see them but otherwise I think they seem more aesthetically good together than like actually together. Hey at least Tim has Bernard now and personally Kon deserves better.

Jon + Damian have squashed potential. Their friendship would have done both their characters so much good. Eventually, as they grew Jon would have felt like he’d have to chase after Damian and keep up and Damian would seek and find in Jon when it comes to anything he can’t obtain as a hero.

Out of all the popular ships, this one is particularly rare.

Imagine a world where Jon and Damian did engage in a romantic relationship in later years. I think it would be great queer rep to show two people who knew each other as friends - grappling with the same heroic pressures and coming to terms with the fact that they might not want to be just friends anymore (a common queer experience) I also think that in stories where they are do become Batman and Superman, it’d feel very refreshing to see DC have the courage to portray an iteration of their most popular characters like that.

These characters are both fairly new and not so much engraved into the audience. They both know each other and share chemistry so there wouldn’t be a lot of room for complaint.

Superbat is meh to me. Over the years, It has done a lot regarding DC fandom, it’s a ship that’s become iconic and is popular amongst passive fans which could become quite annoying.

Superbat is realistically, never going to happen. Respectfully, I doubt DC would do anything in all seriousness when it comes to anything romantic between these two.

Especially with the obvious things like how Batman is and how Clark has a wife and kids.

Although, no ship is shipped under the ideation of becoming canon so I give this pair its flowers because honestly, it could be nice in domestic situations or maybe a workplace relationship but I don’t see it being endgame or like anything happening at all in a likable way.

Timkon, I’m very, very bias about how much I dislike Timkon. Most Timkon shippers realistically do not read comics and I know this because I was one at first for a short amount of time and realized how deluded and far off from the truth Timkon actually is.

It’s crazy to me because fandom is so intense about this ship and all for it to be… alright?

A lot of Timkon stuff is boiled down to being one-sided on Tim’s part. It really irks me that Timkon's evidence is like Tim trying to clone Conner while knowing that he has a thing about not being cloned because he’s a clone himself which irks me.

Then him dating his ex-girlfriend is a HUGE red flag to me, especially when their relationship was semi-abusive and built on grief but good thing it didn’t last.

Also, Tim and Conner are NOT as close as people pretend they are. Conner doesn’t know much about Tim beyond him being Robin, they don’t hang out outside of being heroes.

In reality, Conner doesn’t know much about Tim at all and he’s much closer with his other teammates - literally any other YJ teammate other than Tim. Conner's established friendship with Tim caused a lot of really horrible character assassinations on Bart, Cassie, and Conner. It pushed all characters aside in an attempt to emphasize their relationship.

If they were to have a relationship then people acknowledge its toxicity - see toxicity doesn’t take away from shipability but frankly, I think both these characters deserve to be happy.

If they did date, I seriously give them half a year before they break up. I’m happy Tim is with Bernard because he seems much happier than he’s ever been. I’m sorry, reading those comics it felt like Tim was just grieving his friend after having lost a family member and he was spiraling and needing help, that’s not ‘cute’ to me.

Anyway, I notice Timkon shippers use Kon more as an accessory to Tim and melt his character down for that. If they read his comics then they’d know that he is canonically attracted to Bart anyway (I say canonically because of the on-the-nose insinuation which I take as gospel because it’s crazy for a writer to just outright mention Conner might be attracted to Bart.) Which Bart is most of the reason Conner is queer coded like he is now anyway.

Anyway, not saying all Timkon shippers are horrible but I don’t like the shippers or the ship. It’s substanceless for me. If you like it I’m very happy for you. I think all of these ships are iconic and adorable. This is just me being a person with an opinion.

First Impression: I first saw him in the Teen Titans animated series. I thought he was very neat and always enjoyed whenever he came on screen.

Impression Now: I love him so much. He's such a great character and poor DC mistreats him so much. Best DC Dad (Fight me!)

Favorite Moment: Truly any moment between him and Lian is great but him being reunited with Lian in the hospital admitting he thought he'd never get the chance to hold her again 😭

Idea for a story: Honestly just letting him be back with the Titans and having Lian fully back in his life is all I want for him.

Unpopular Opinion: I don't think true Roy Harper would ever be friends with Jason Todd between beating up Tim and shooting Damian ( Kids being hurt is absolute no to Roy) and fighting Mia,his little sister, he wouldn't even want to be in the same room as him.

Favorite Relationship: (Romantic) I love Donna and Roy together. Also while probably never going to happen I have a very big soft spot for Dickroy

(Platonic) His relationship with Lian is so sweet. He's the best Dad in DC. His Fatherly relationship to Grant was also so sweet and it's such a shame he was just killed off. Naturally pretty much any sort of relationship he has with the Teen Titans is great.

Favorite Headcanon: He's taught Lian as well as his siblings many stories from his time on the Reservation. And still holds many of the beliefs he was taught to his heart because they're also his family too.

hello, ramone, and thank you so much for the ask!! i really appreciate it, as always :D but let me get right into the questions you asked me here: for the first question, you can find my answer to that here. now as for what the best part of roleplaying is... honestly, i'd say it's getting to meet all kinds of talented people and discovering the unique ways in which they write and/or give their character's their own voice! because this is at its core a collaborative hobby and i just adore the process of, like, getting a feel for a certain dynamic between my character and another one orrr just like. exploring it in general, if that makes any sense!

because you can forge some really satisfying bonds between muses, though i personally enjoy them all, from something platonic to romantic to something like an enemyship haha. and talking to people as well as getting to know the person behind the character is always so enjoyable for me as well!! especially since, whenever it comes to being on here, i not only want to roleplay but also try to make friends with the mun's of the people behind the characters if they're interested in being friends with me too. therefore, i guess you could say overall that the best part/s of roleplaying to me are interacting with people through both their writing in character and also getting to know more about them out of character 💕

and OOH, gosh... that's a good question! if i'm being honest, what has been giving me the most muse for a while is just listening to music that reminds me of a certain character + just diving into writing headcanons and studies for them either while i'm doing that or not. i also think that i am good at, like, envisioning things in my minds eye? so i often make 'mental pictures' or use my imagination to help me try to create certain scenes sometimes while i'm actively writing. so, the story is kind of unfolding before me metaphorically. i also find that creating boards for my characters on pinterest helps me with inspiration for them as well.

(that is actually part of how i came up with the inspiration behind blamore's character. i had seen this corset that was shaped with a spine while i was browsing on there, and since i was interested in reworking a DC character at that time, i thought... what if i took mister bloom's character and instead of him having these non-specific powers that theoretically anyone could have — i made him a 'bone-based' villain? which, basically would mean that he'd have bone manipulation as his main power, and i also wanted to lean more into the 'nature horror' images i had been seeing on there. and tada; blamore or burgeon was born!)

so yeah. also, i would also like to say that i have also gotten inspired by several people's writing on here, though i, of course, haven't taken anything off of them. i'm just saying that in a 'they are so amazing that they have made me strive to be the best writer i can be and have made me believe that i can portray barton to be the character that i envision him being in my head' kind of way. though, let me just say that you are one of the people that inspires me in that way, ramone!! but anywhozies... i hope that you liked my response to this and that all of you are having a good way!!!

🍍 What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?

I LOVE any kind of performer or celebrity AU. Honestly I really just want to put every character in a boy band, but I will allow them to be ballet dancers or something if I can't make "boy band" work. See also: Boy Wonder, the massive sprawling DC art school AU I can't figure out how to write, the AU that lives inside my head where the JLI make a Golden Age movie musical...

Other than that, for me it's less about a certain type of AU for me, and more about finding a way to preserve key backstory moments or character dynamics in a new setting. I'm not interested in a JayRoy AU where Jason didn't die or at least have a deeply traumatic near death experience, for example, or where Roy doesn't have a long history of close friendship with Dick. The challenge is preserving those key elements (which are going to be different for everyone) in a new setting while not just...reiterating canon except everyone's riding a dragon or whatever.

I'd say I don't particularly care for coffee shop AUs, but it's more that I don't particularly care for stories with zero conflict, and coffee shop AUs often fall into that category. I don't want an AU that sands all the edges off the characters and their relationships, but I don't want a non-AU story that does that, either.

Well, obviously I'm weak for mutually pining codependent best friends (see: everything I've ever written). Grumpy reluctant father figure and spunky kid. Affectionate dog and the awkward, aloof cat who doesn't know what to do with said affection. "I guess we sort of qualify as family but we don't really know what that means or how to navigate it." And of course, this iconic post.

Mostly because i dont really care all that much about the shipping part of ships, if that makes sense?

Like dont get me wrong youll catch me giggling and kicking my feet over a slow burn fic any day of the week, but its also usually the least interesting part of whatever these kids have going on. I dont need them to be always romantic to be interested.

And if theres a ship i dont like, i just wont engage or talk about it. Honestly Batman is the first fandom where i actually like the “big” ship (superbat). Usually in a fandom i find myself avoiding or barely tolerating it.

For canon ships, I really like Brutalia. Im talking about og Talia, the doctor, the princess, the “I dont always agree with my father but I will burn a mountain down to save him” Talia. They’re both so unhinged and so dedicated. Compels me.

BatCat is. Idk recently their relationship doesnt interest me. I love them when it feels like a friends/with benefits situation where they both know the other has far more important things going on, but i no longer see them as a possible end game. Yes this is a reaction to the left at the alter thing. Yes i think fandom moved on from that (or made it Bruce’s fault somehow) waaaaaay to fast.

Noncanon ships i like are pretty much any, it depends on the context and the degree of separation from my preferred characterization the majority of fics have them as.
