I’m tired of angsty Joker

I am tired of seeing portrayals of The Joker where his personality just feels incredibly dull. I’ve always preferred versions of him in DC kids media simply because they make him more fun. I miss when his craziness was how he could just from one extreme to another, you could never truly predict what he would do and his motive could vary from simply wanting Batman’s attention to just getting a kick of something. Now is craziness is just that evil, he’s super smart and always one step ahead evil… and that’s kinda it

I think this is because in kids media in order to keep kids interested they up the antics on all the characters and everything is slightly more ridiculous. Which translates well for a character like The Joker because he IS ridiculous, the mean wears underwear with Batman’s face on it, he wears a full face of makeup everyday, he is literally a clown! I think part of his charm is that he makes a good contrast to how solemn Batman and Gotham is. I’m not saying I don’t want him to be evil, I absolutely still want him being batshit insane, but evil doesn’t have to mean humorless. Even his color palettes are dulled down. For a dude whose trademark is “why so serious?” He seems pretty damn serious himself.

I don’t know this could totally just be me I’m just not too wrapped up in the DC verse to know what’s going on, I just wanted to put this out into the world

i hate that ship where you have to give the characters a complete 180 for them to even work on paper, and then you don’t even recognize those characters anymore because the shippers just make the ship the characters only existing trait.

Okay so if you like bat jokes that’s fine. I don’t really ship Batman with any of his rogues gallery but you know do whatever. You saw the Lego Batman movie and were inspired to make cool art, neat! Though, it’s likely your reasoning for shipping Batjokes is because of Joker’s obsession. Now in some pieces of media it’s a two way street, but in all honesty Batman doesn’t NEED a lotta the people in his rogue’s gallery the way Joker needs Batman. So you ship it because Joker is obsessed and that’s fine but have you considered the ONE character whose entire existence revolves around Batman?

That’s right. Bane. Have you considered Bane X Batman? It’s ridiculous and funny. Now I don’t ship it, but if your sole reason for shipping batjokes is Joker’s obsession then I PROMISE Bane is ten times as obsessed. This motherfucker has dreamed about Batman before he KNEW Batman. Breaking Batman is literally his “destiny.” I mean c’mon they’re literally ripe for a soulmates fanfic guys. Hell, get crazy with it, make a love triangle! The best part? You don’t have to pretend that Red Hood doesn’t exist! Take it into consideration, would ya’? Also! Bane is a better Batman villain anyway.

Y’all, I feel the urge to clarify this. If it seems I’m calling Batjokes a bad or worse ship, I’m not. At all. I am just pointing out a silly ship idea, and using it as an excuse to talk about my favorite character in DC lol.
