I swear, every time I hear more about Elon Musk, I think more and more about Jin Guangshan. They both have wealthy asshole with a ton of kids they don’t care about from a bunch of different women, a deep love of power and lackeys, and a willingness to side with other dangerous, power-hungry people if it benefits them.

A PSA from my D&D Characters in light of the recent election.

I don't live in America, but like so many others we are feeling the ramifications of what happened and how much the right's hate has emboldened facsism and hate across the world.

I can't do much alone and I don't intend to, but hopefully myself and my art can help you find just a bit of hope. Enough, at least, to take care of yourselves and eachother, and enough to find the strength to keep fighting for a brighter future.

Please remember that in a system that wants you gone, caring for yourself and eachother is a form of rebellion they will never be able to take away from us.

i know we’ve all been enjoying dunking on elon musk bc he’s an idiot who’s actively burning twitter and whatever “genius” reputation he’s built to the ground but i genuinely hate him so much not just bc of his self tilting political leanings but also his wild disregard for human welfare. i know we’re all a bit jaded about the whole “teslas are deathtraps that will spontaneously combust and lock you inside and whose autopilot doesn’t recognize a large category of people” thing but reading about the primate trials for this neurolink bullshit is genuinely terrifying. the fact that he hopes to start human trials in 6 months is ... i don’t have words.

this man has money and wants above all things to be liked and applauded, regardless of reality, and people buy into his shit. people are going to buy into this and it’s going to kill them and he’s not going to willingly take any responsibility, if his past lack of action is any indication.

I come from a pro-AI area, and I'm trying to educate myself on why people hate AI so vehemently. Now, there is no arguing that AI has not intention, soul, or meaning behind what it outputs. AI writing can only pretend to have themes, with no real meaning behind them. Calling AI art a real work of art is simply incorrect; it is no more than a novelty. This I fully agree with.

However, I'm confused why I see a lot of people talking about AI is "stealing" people's work. Most of the places I looked just said this as a given, but I do not yet know why. AI is trained off of others work and learns from it, but it rarely ever is able to copy work directly. It is comparable to another creator looking at someone else's work, attempting to imitate it as practice, and then taking what they learned with them. Any one piece has little affect on the whole AI; it is the sum of the pieces that make it work.

So this is the way I'm currently thinking about AI. I would greatly appreciate someone else telling me why I'm wrong so that way my viewpoint can grow :p

fucking hate twitter because I'm in two different fandoms. One of them has really cool stories, but if I scroll too far, I get HEY YOU ENJOY X THING??? HERE'S ALL THE REASONS YOU'RE A HORRIBLE PERSON!!!!! THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS IS [redacted because Tumblr deserves better]

The other has pretty mid content, but important information that makes my life easier about events and updates in splatoon. The issue is that I don't have the motivation to delete my first account and I can't just uninstall Twitter outright because of account B. Honestly it's better to just not look because Twitter loves prancing around with its holier than thou attitude

Fuck twitter. Fuck Elon Musk, but also fuck the culture Twitter has developed. A Twitter refugee will never be truly welcomed on Tumblr because being on twitter requires a tolerance for some pretty heinous comments and the absolute worst of cancel culture.

Someone who belongs on Twitter is likely to agree with the sentiment that someone is a bad person for enjoying Harry Potter or dsmp or Homestuck or whatever other controversial fandom. They're the ones engaging in sexuality discourse.

It's just exhausting to deal with, and it's exhausting to have to get news over that platform because there's no other real way to do it. Nobody takes Tumblr seriously, reddit serves it's own purpose, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok just won't work for that, and facebook is Facebook. Unfortunately Twitter isn't being replaced, so we have to deal with it
