curt and kim being dance partners in all the scenes at the castle is something that is so special to me

i watched mufasa today and was writhing in agony the whole time. partially because it was ugly. partially because the plot sucked. and not as much because i had horrifying period cramps.

#seriously tho i despise that movie #i did not want to go see it #but i also didnt want to be an asshole to my uncle who bought us tickets #it was a shit movie tho #hated it #i could point out a billion things i hated about it #EVERYTHING was cgi #every single character and the entire background #like atp just make an animated movie #but no instead i had to watch this weird uncanny valley between animation and reality #where everything is mildly unrealistic and weird but also way too realistic and weird #why do the lions growl and roar and whimper like lions but also talk like people #that bit was so weird #especially bc the lion voice never sounded anything like the people voice #one second youre growling like a wild animal and the next youre fucking james earl jones #like wtf #also it was odd to me that little kid mufasa was voiced by an adult and little kid kiara was voiced by a kid #like do the kid lions have human child voices or not?#it was so god damned confuzzling #the lions' faces were so emotionless. simone and pumba were annoying and unfunny and ugly as shit. the plot was bland and predictable.#i swear to GOD bro #you could have written all of the characters better.#give mufasa understandable and relatable flaws and attributes instead of making him Perfect #give taka understandable and relatable good bits and flaws instead of making him Evil #the characters had no nuance and no arcs #like i thought it would come into play that taka had undying loyalty to mufasa bc that was like literally how he was introduced #like his entire character from. the. START. was giving up his own honor for the safety of mufasa #but then he betrayed him? like what kind of a plot point was that?#also those white lions SUCKED as characters too #they had no nuances just malice

i fucking love prereading. getting documents about what's going to be discussed in a meeting and reading them and then going to the meeting and having context for all the things that are happening. if i could do this in all areas of life i would. send me a list of the words i'm going to need the definition of in order to understand what you will be talking about. give me a rundown of what topics might come up during this social encounter. provide detailed documentation of what to expect in a new setting. i will read the fuck out of that shit.

#me getting off meeting 2 for a project but this time i read their paper first because they sent it in advance: waaowoaoaowaw #you are not just saying words next to each other. these words have meaning #my posts #f #i went to get new glasses the other day but it was a failure because i forgot everything. forgot my prescription most notably #(idk where my brain is lately but it does not appear to be inside my skull)#but actually i ended up feeling fine about it. because it allowed me to scope out the place. figure out how it works #a little dry run. a little dress rehearsal. now i know that when i do it for real i'm going to go to the third floor #i'm going to go up to the ticket machine and press the button on the touchscreen and get a number #i'm going to go right inside and start looking at frames instead of sitting in the waiting area which is actually for a different departmen #i didn't know any of that and it was stressful but now i know and next time i am going to look and act so normal #also i was able to find out what my actual benefit is and it's really stupid. it's something i wouldn't have guessed in a million years #so it's good i had the opportunity to ask about it during a time when it didn't matter because i couldn't use it anyway #getting glasses is stressful enough because you have to stand around trying on frames like a tool #if there is any other aspect of the process that also makes me feel like an idiot it's just too much to bear. this time i got to spread it #out over two encounters. so hopefully next time the only embarrassing part will be the frames fashion show

finn and fall came over after work yesterday and we sat at my kitchen table for hours eating unsurprisingly precise german pizzas, drinking faux claws, and talking about porch rot, pool khakis, paternal incarceration, and boxed wine

while the summer sun was setting, we were still living in a lost time talking about basement trolls, and widowed stag beetles, skimmer bunnies, eponymous hotels, chlorine antagonists, rage kandi, and all other kinds of nonsense. it was a really nice night

#does that seem disproportionate?#i promise it's not #because my former manager decided that me being in australia dealing with my dad's death #and me attempting to contact said manager about a dozen times and getting no response #and then me opening multiple HR tickets and getting NO RESPONSE #equates to me ''abandoning my position''#so i currently have no income and only $43 to my name since someone decided my broke ass was a good candidate for theft #plus because of all the fraudulent charges i had to lock my account #which had the utterly ridiculous and undisclosed effect of not only blocking charges to my account but CREDITS #which means that when i decided to make a sensible mental health decision #and withdrew from the class i was taking this quarter so that i could give myself time to grieve #with the intention of enrolling in the same class next quarter instead #the tuition refund got blocked #and is now just like. hanging in no mans land.#so i can't enroll in the class for next quarter yet because i can't access the money i intended to use for it #and the classes only have space for 15 students #and it's going to take 7-10 days for the bank to issue my new card and for my account to be functional #so now i've got a new thing to be stressed about #when i was specifically trying to give myself a break from stress #so yeah i hope the person who stole from me has a shit day forever #hope they get little bits of egg shell in everything they eat #and that they can always faintly smell dog poop as if they stepped in it but can never find the source #cass says things
