i think there should be more robots that arent good at programming and dont know a lot about related subjects honestly. i mean humans dont have an in depth understanding of biology and anatomy just because theyre human, sure they know what kind of stuff is supposed to be inside of them but not very specific biological processes, names of proteins and all that stuff - so why should a robot know what each little part of it does? if its purpose isnt to be a self-repairing mechanic, whats the point of knowing where all the individual little wires connect to and what each of them is responsible for? let robots be a bit dumber is what im saying

again and again i find myself lamenting that audio roleplay isn't taken more seriously by some people. like yeah, they often have a romantic element, and by nature they usually directly involve/address the listener- and i totally get that those things aren't to everyone's taste. no art or entertainment is universally appealing, and that's okay! but.. it still makes me a lil sad that the "cringe" reputation of asmr/audio rp precedes it. there's a whole lot of talent and creativity being poured into these audios by so many people that i feel goes unrecognized and/or disrespected simply due to the medium that the stories are being told through.

hm hm hm i feel like this will be really interesting to read with the knowledge of korra and how that effected her instead.... because korra (from my limited knowledge so i could be talking out my ass here) knew she was the avatar at an early age and DID get that community. she had katara and her parents, she had her mentors, she was isolated from the real world during so and perfected the elements other than air (which i kinda recall her struggling with and how its the opposite element of earth so im excited to see if those kinda play out :3) and she was more eager to be the avatar and the excitement and significance it brought (which was a bit clouded by her being sheltered but also would have been expected more before the war impacted things)

i also remember matty saying kyoshi struggled with earth bending (which im super excited to get to and see/see her journey and how it will differ) but!!! i just think its really fun how theyre kinda off the bat setting up this expectation and new grounding for readers who have a past grasp of the avatar universe. even as someone who isnt super familiar with the lore, i know enough to recognize that oh! thats something new!! so just kudos to the writer(s?) for just setting this up to be something very different and in a natural way :3

the ff14 and naruto braincells are having a go at it again and I'm like (staring into the distance) technically every other world outside of the Source and the 13 shards are full of unsundered souls by comparison (and also, alien lifeforms would technically be unsundered) so I'm like if you isekai a WOL into Naruto would soul density matter at all for like, practical magic purposes.....I think it would be funny if the soul density did something but I'm not sure what direction this ought to go in. Probably whatever is funniest and most convenient for a story.

(was thinking that the aether/chakra/dynamis/etc situation is that there's enough overlap between all these things to workable but until they get used to it, an outside person like a misplaced WOL would find the local energies weirdly dense and kind of, like. hard to describe. It's a weird texture compared to what they're used to. It's close enough but also different enough to fuck with their head a little.)

(WOL with a different soul density from literally everyone else maybe reads as Weird but whether it's alarming or not, idk...depends on the joke...)

and also, I'm still not supposed to be doing that WOL isekai because I still don't know what I'd do with it, the only thing I have is a really stupid joke I've been laughing about (the WOL being a little boggled that it's all ninja all the time, or rather a lot of ninja some of the time) (it's all hyur everywhere tho, for some reason?)

(I was thinking I could go all-out and let this guy be a half-au ra, half-hyur so he has a little bit of weirdness in his looks, but makes a habit of being discreetly glamoured to look like an ordinary human and then when the glam is forcibly dispelled he has to really insist that he's just a guy and the weirdly glowing limbal rings and scales don't actually do too much)

I’m fascinated about the oc stuff you mentioned! I only recently (within the last year) started creating oc’s so I’ve not really thought about creating images of them. I pretty much just save stock photos and photos of celebrities that resemble what I’m imagining, but that can be a pain. I’d love to hear more tips (as well as hearing about some of your oc’s if you’d like to share!)

It's cool to hear that you're getting into oc stuff, making up little guys is so much fun! You'll have to tell me about yours sometime! I gotta admit though, saving stock and celebrity photos sounds like a hassle :/ I can't imagine what you'd do for a non-human oc…

If you're interested, I have a ton of picrew links I can share (and obviously I can give you ones with more specific aesthetics if you have something in mind, versus just dumping a truckload of random links on you).

I also really like using Heroforge (D&D Minifugre website) to make ocs (D&D related or not). They update pretty regularly so there's always better options (especially for non-human ocs) and colors for more specific customizations. It's especially cool because if you decide you really like it, you can buy your oc as a minifigure (but you can still use the site/save your oc even without buying anything)! I love free websites :3

Lately, I've been focusing on my batch of Minecraft ocs. I was supposed to join a big rp server, but that fell apart so now I'm just 'writing' it all myself. It's been really fun, and I like being able to build an intricate story and characters from a pre-set template that comes with making ocs within a pre-existing world/ruleset (It's just much easier on my busy brain for when I'm not working on my actual original writing or whatever XP). But because of this, I've also been making full Minecraft skins for those ocs. It's pretty much just pixel art, and I am nowhere near the levels of some of the proffesional skin-makers out there, but I've made some pretty cool stuff if I do say so myself!

TL;DR I am not good at art, but my imagination is very hyperactive, so having some of these online resources has helped a ton in just getting something out into the world. I am more than happy to share site links and answer any questions you have about navigating them if you wanna dm me! I'd also loove to talk about all my ocs more, but I know that can be a lot for a tumblr ask…especially if tumblr keeps eating them >:(

Tomorrow I'll also work on Mermaid Ray sketch after I get the timelapse of my Mermaid Alec art. Ray's mermaid version is gonna look different in a lot of ways, yall won't believe the restraint I had to use to keep myself from altering Alec's human half too much. Cuz like, for Mermaid Alec, he hunts both on water and land, he can conceal his snake tail via a water source nearby or grass and stuff and conceal his non human ears via his hair.

It's one of the ways he tricks people, so I needed his human half to look as human as possible. Mermaid Ray is gonna be limited to water only so I can put scales and stuff on his body! Yippee! I wanted to add scales on Alec's too but alas! To Ray that'd go instead.
