𝜗𝜚 ݁ ˖ The Advice Column Issue No.1 ; How to deal with fake friends while balancing school life 🎀🧁
Hii Dolls!!!⭐️ This is officially the first issue of my Brand new segment The Advice Column!!!! and i chose the topic fake friends bc as someone who’s had an alarming amount of fake friends in the past i can definitely give endless advice in this topic and its a collab with the @honeytonedhottie !! bc i thought she could also give so really good advice!!🎀⭐️
Are you struggling with keeping up in your studies? worried if your friends are talking behind ur back? Stressed? Feeling like school and socials are just to much??? DONT WORRY!! Dolly n Honey are gonna save the day!! 🎀⭐️
Section 1 ; Honey!!🍯
how to balance ur school and social life (in bullet points) !! 🎀🧁
- make a list of priorities and stick to it like its a handbook
- practice saying no to events and saying no to excessive studying, the key is to find an equilibrium
- combine social and academic events
- make sure to use ur time wisely and do whats important first, so that then u can have loads of time for ur social life!
Section 2 ; Dolly! 🎀
No.1 ; Stand up for yourself!! ⭐️
if ur so called “friend” is constantly make smart remarks about you, scrutinizing you for the smallest thing, being passive aggressive or really just trying to hurt your feelings always stand up for yourself and never let insult like that because that shows that you have no self respect and then they’re gonna just keep doing it set clear boundaries and don’t be a doormat never let this person/people walk all over you , if you didn’t appreciate something they said don’t take shit from them address and make sure it never happens again
No.2 ; spotting a secretly fake friend⭐️!
now there’s obviously “friends” that you can spot from a mile away that they’re definitely toxic but theres also a certain type of friend that could be the sweetest to ur face but secretly talk shit behind ur back and its honestly not that hard to spot one of these “friends” so here are some characteristics of ‘the secretly fake friend’
- never sticks up for you
- constantly lying
- at time can be very passive aggressive
- will tell you that someone was talking about you and not defend you at all
- will make you feel like a bad friend even if they’re wrong in the situation
- if you’ve ever confronted them on their behavior and they say they’re sorry but then repeats the same actions
- lets their other friends talk shit about you
- HUGE VICTIM COMPLEX!
these kinds of fake friends are tricky bc you really can’t spot them at first and then it can be harder to cut them off which brings me to my next point
No.3 CUT THEM OFF !!⭐️
listen i know its hard to let go of these people at first im mean I’ve had to do it multiple times but i swear it gets sooo much easier to not have these people in ur life its way better to have no friends than a bunch of friends thats secretly hate you don’t stay caught up on toxic people like this its a waste of ur own peace and well being , block them, stop following them, stop talking to them have NOTHING to do with these people/person
No.5 ; Ur not special !!
now this title is a bit alarming but what i mean by that is if you have a friend that’s constantly talks down about people for no reason whether it be their friends or someone they know and im not talking about the standard gossip talk bc tbh everyone gossips but im talking about like drags them through the mud calls them mean names and purposefully spreads rumors about other people they’ll do it to do you as well ur not special i doesn’t matter what this person is telling you they’ll talk about any and everyone it doesn’t matter people like this do not care
No.4 ; Being Un-phased !! ⭐️
now after you cut them off either gonna
A. make it seem like they’re innocent and have been nothing but nice to you and try and make you feel bad
B. Act like theirs beef when in reality theres not they just want a reason to start a problem
C. to the standard mean girl remarks side eyes, whispers, random pointing and slightly laughing, or even in some cases talk loudly about you but indirectly
now in any of these situations never let it bother you show no reaction these kinds of people feed off ur fear of them shows no reaction when it comes to things like this and you can also do it back side eye them back, give them weird looks back now im definitely not saying be just like them but play their game don’t let disrespect like this slide and i know how hard it can be especially since these are people ir support be close with but i promise making friends that actually care about you is WORLDS BETTER!!! you’ll have such a peace of mind and being able to make friend that actually care about you is such a freeing feeling!!!!
Reminders!!! 🎀🍯
- they’re opinions don’t matter
- these people are no above you in any way shape or form
- stress is normal don’t let it get to you !!
- you deserve much better friends
- it normal to feel sad after cutting them off
- this person/these people don’t deserve you!!!
- you got thiss!!!

Can u pretty please make daddy some Disney descendants headcanons and Rodrick Heffley too???
But kitten whiskers- I don’t do descendants….. BUT I WILL DO RODERICK
Roderick Heffley Hcs (General)
-he’s so bisexual you guys like actually in my brain he’s canonly bisexual
-he really likes getting his makeup done but pretends to hate it, like if you do it at first he’ll complain about you touching his face but love the feeling secretly and the result
-I feel like he has some really unnoticed trauma with how his parents treat him
-Greg gets to sort of be a brat and do whatever but I headcanon that maybe he thinks he’s really not good enough because his parents treat him like a delinquent
-everyone does, actually. His teachers, peers… imagine having that repeated over and over… eventually you just… believe it
-damn I didn’t mean to turn this angsty but yk it’s Roderick what do you expect
-He drinks milk from the carton (canon but honorable mention)
-I feel like he likes punk, emo, and rock music genres a lot and switches quite frequently between genres in his bands music
-also he’s a horrible driver (also canon but honorable mention)
-I also think he’s a horrible pedestrian, like he just doesn’t look before jaywalking
-absolutely the type to roast Greg about any music he listens to, unless Roderick likes it, then he will get some passive approval
-he thinks he looks a lot cooler than he does sometimes tbh, but honestly just has low self esteem due to his environment
-I don’t think he likes any veggies besides carrots unless they are on pizza, I just think he’s a picky eater lmao
-speaking of food he LOVES potato chips
-I think he’s not super informed on politics which can be annoying but sometimes he gets really into it which is nice to see, and if he had a partner he would let you rant about them
-I think he totally paints his nails, other colors than black too and doesn’t gaf if anyone has anything to say about that
-I think he really is a mamas boy at heart, I think even though they have more banter they get along a lot better than him and his dad
-but I feel like he thinks neither of his parents really understand him, and music is his way of coping with that sometimes
-if he hears someone talking about a band he loves he will get super duper excited but act disinterested so nobody thinks he’s uncool
-honestly just low damn self esteem and confidence, even if he pretends otherwise
-would have an amazing relationship with his brother if his brother would stop being a tattle tale 💀
-he gets paid around the neighborhood to do certain jobs like mowing grass or shoveling snow but he sucks at all his jobs, wether that’s being on time, or doing them in general, so most of the time Greg end up stealing his jobs
-the one subject he is surprisingly decent at is English- specifically reading comprehension. I feel like he has a lot of really interesting concepts but he doesn’t know how to word them correctly- and is too scared to anyway because he thinks no matter what he’s gonna sound stupid
-he has that one thing where there’s constant ringing in your ears from listening to music far too loud
-he lives for weird ass graphic tees and cool belts
-I feel like he likes some really niche bands and gets pissed whenever/if it ever goes mainstream- “I liked that before it was popular” 🤓☝️
-OKAY he does that thing where if a girl wear a band shirt he asks if she can even name five songs because he thinks it’s like flirty but it’s actually just annoying and he gets slapped for that
-The hygiene on this mf is disgraceful- only starts wearing deodorant AFTER he gets a partner
-one time he went out and got his ears pierced and probably now had some cool ass earrings
-even though he mains the drums he can play the bass and guitar pretty well

Naruto Episode Comments, Ep. 1-20
(Context: I know a lot of the character’s names and some of the big plot points, but I’m going in blind otherwise)
Ep 1:
-Naruto is kinda annoying but also he’s just a lil gremlin and I can respect that
-I kinda love Iruka. Also he’s hot.
-”Clone jutsu? That’s my worst jutsu!” says Naruto, known for his Shadow Clone jutsu
-there’s just something so charming about the old anime style (but also some of the expressions are so goofy)
-HOLY SHIT IRUKA IS A REAL ONE
-I don’t trust the Hokage. I don’t really have a concrete reason for this yet, but his vibes are off
-oooh Irukaaaaa you’re so sexy for not being an asshole to the traumatized child
-oh I guess Shadow Clone jutsu is different from regular clones so disregard my earlier comment
-honestly this was a better first episode than I was expecting. I’m sold!
Ep 2:
-Naruto continues to be a lil gremlin
-Naruto pls for the love of god stop using your stupid ass “sexy jutsu”
-the Hokage really has had enough of these little kids and honestly I can’t even blame him
-I love the voice of Konohamaru’s trainer (I’m watching dub btw), it’s so pompous
-I love the ninja sandals. I want a pair.
-I like that Naruto’s voice actually sounds childish. It’s a tad bit grating sometimes but I think I’ll get used to it quickly
-STOP IT WITH THE SEXY JUTSU
-STOPPPPPP
-anyways #KonohamaruForHokage
Ep 3:
-again, the ninja sandals are so fucking drippy
-Ino wtf is up with your outfit. Why is half of it bandages
-the amount of sheer passive-aggressiveness in these 12 year old girls-
-Naruto has a crush on Sakura at first???? I didn’t know that lol
-Sasuke does not give a singular shit about anything other than his brooding and tbh I didn’t expect anything less
-Sakura’s little inner monologue is so feral lmao
-I don’t like Sasuke’s voice so far. It’s monotone, but not in an edgy way, just in a kinda dull way? Also he doesn’t really sound like a kid
-no hate to Shikamaru but his ponytail looks painful. My scalp hurts just looking at it
-oh my god not Sakura ragging on Naruto for being an orphan-
-lmao the amount of fucking drama with this team of kids is crazy
-why are the Hokage and Kakashi just casually breaking into Naruto’s home to look around
-rip Naruto’s bowels
Ep 4:
-I was not expecting Kakashi to sound like that but I’m kinda here for it actually
-oh I can already tell I’m gonna hate how the female characters are written in this show. Sakura honey I’m so sorry
-I know Sasuke’s got trauma or whatever but god he’s so fucking edgy. “I hate most things and I don’t like anything” bitch just say your favorite food or something
-oh my god Naruto is so tiny compared to Kakashi
-ok I already see why people love Kakashi so much
Ep 5:
-Kakashi is raining hell down on these children and I’m so here for it
-Kakashi is so COOL
-fucking “HEADHUNTER JUTSU” is the most metal name for a jutsu
-“you think like little kids” says Kakashi to the 12 year olds
-Kakashi really didn’t need to give his “you failed” monologue while pinning Sasuke to the ground. Bro was just doing it to assert dominance lmao
-I know that Sasuke’s reasoning for sharing is logical and not because he cares about Naruto, but I like that he offers his food to Naruto first
-aw the squad is starting to squad just a teeny tiny bit
Ep 6:
-booooo Naruto is a cat hater :(
-I love that Naruto is shorter than Sakura
-I like that we get some worldbuilding early on (also I’m a sucker for a good map so the scene explaining the different regions was cool)
-okay Sasuke is a badass
-Kakashi is also a badass but I already knew that
-I love how chill Kakashi is about literally everything
Ep 7:
-Kakashi is so over the bridge builder guy’s bullshit
-I do wish there was more of a sense of scale regarding how far apart the different locations are, since I have no idea how far away from Konoha the Land of Waves actually is
-okay I was NOT expecting Zabuza to fucking THROW HIS GIANT CLOUD STRIFE SWORD LIKE A BOOMERANG???
-Zabuza 🤝 Kakashi
not wearing their headbands correctly
-I like Zabuza’s voice
-the sharingan doesn’t make that much sense to me in terms of how it works but I’ll just chalk it up to anime logic
EP 8:
-oh the Water Prison jutsu is kinda terrifying to think about
-I can’t get over Zabuza’s fuckin armwarmer thingies
-ah yes gotta love the choppy old anime fight animation
-between Kakashi and Zabuza, Sasuke really cannot get a break from being pinned to the ground
-the demon wind shuriken is so sick-looking
-okay good on Naruto and Sasuke for working together but couldn’t they have given Sakura something to do
Ep 9:
-binging this makes the flashbacks at the beginning of episodes very annoying
-oh Kakashi is fucking PISSED
-shoutout to whoever animated all the hand signs for the jutsus holy shit
-yeah Kakashi would be so annoying to fight ngl
-Sakura is constantly calling Naruto out on his bullshit and that’s the kind of hater behavior I’m here for
-the soundtrack is hitting different this episode
-wow Naruto really saw another kid kill a man and got immediate imposter syndrome lmao
Ep 10:
-I like Haku’s painted nails
-aw Kakashi is actually a really encouraging teacher
-how is Naruto so bad with chakra control and yet was able to master Shadow Clone jutsu????
-Kakashi casually defying gravity to walk up a tree with his crutches was actually kinda hilarious to me for some reason
-I’m still not sold on Sasuke’s voice. There are moments when it’s fine but otherwise it’s just so stiff
-YAY FOR SAKURA GETTING A WIN OVER THE BOYS
-aw Naruto encouraging Sakura was cute (even though he was salty about her beating him)
-I like the difference that’s set up between having a lot of chakra (like Naruto) versus good chakra control (like Sakura)- hopefully this means people are going to go about how they train and fight differently
-Naruto asking Sakura for advice and asking her not to tell Sasuke anything was actually kinda endearing lol
Ep 11:
-dumb question maybe but if Gato is so against the bridge being built and he has the resources to hire a bunch of goons, why doesn’t he just bomb the bridge or something
-ah yes Sakura discovers poverty
-Sasuke is slowly growing on me. He’s very awkward
-Sakura I’m so sorry you have to deal with those two idiots as teammates
-holy fuck Inari’s backstory with Kaiza was darker than I thought it would be
-also rip Kaiza you were a real one
Ep 12:
-lmao not Naruto thinking Haku is prettier than Sakura fjfhshhajasisa-
-aw Sasuke helping Naruto walk home after training was nice, there’s definitely very slight development happening in their relationship as rivals
-Kakashi’s talk with Inari was a really nice moment
Ep 13:
-I like the way Haku talks. It’s very impassive and mysterious
-I’m always a fan of when the MC inspires literally everyone around them and Naruto is no exception
-Haku’s painted nails continue to slay (also I realized his toenails are painted too)
-the needles Haku fights with are really cool-looking but also seem really impractical
-YEAHHHHH NARUTO TIME
-aw Kakashi is proud of his kids
-goddamn Haku is so cool
Ep 14:
-I’m only thinking about this now but did Naruto never wonder why he had a big seal on his stomach
-literally half this episode was recap which was kinda annoying
-Naruto I love you but you’re so stupid
Ep 15:
-I really wish they gave Sakura more to do in this fight. I get that Kakashi’s the only one who can take Zabuza and that we need to see Naruto and Sasuke fighting together, but Sakura is kinda just standing there the whole time
-Haku needs to go to therapy ASAP
-I’m still confused about how Kakashi’s sharingan works tbh
Ep 16:
-aw yeah baby Sasuke sharingan time
-aw yeahhhh Sasuke saving Naruto
-god fucking dammit I think Sasuke is my favorite Team 7 member and I hate that for me
-oh boy Naruto is about to go apeshit
-also there is no way in hell anyone watching this actually believed Sasuke died
Ep 17:
-geez the animation quality really went up this episode
-yeah Haku’s backstory is just as tragic as I thought it would be but also Jesus Christ his relationship with Zabuza is so fucked up
-I’m very curious as to why Kakashi has the sharingan if it’s a bloodline trait of the Uchiha clan (and also why he only has it in one eye)
-Kakashi summoning fucking dogs was so random but also hell yeah doggies
-andddd Kakashi’s a lightningbender? I thought the sharingan was his main thing but apparently not
-Haku PLEASE go to therapy
Ep 18:
-this show’s soundtrack has actually been so good so far
-so like was Naruto actually gonna kill Haku before Haku stopped him
-oh FUCK rip Haku (also first real-time death of the series!)
-Kakashi closing Haku’s eyes and saving his body was nice, you can tell that he feels bad about him dying even though he was on Zabuza’s side
-also they didn’t hold back on the blood, goddamn
-I like that the bridge builder seems to have a bit of a soft spot for Sakura since she’s been with him the most
Ep 19:
-Gato is literally so fucking disgusting I need him dead ASAP
-Kakashi wrangling Naruto back from attacking Gato was kinda funny
-ah yes the big Shonen Protagonist Speech™ from Naruto
-Zabuza’s last hurrah was fucking epic, I really like how his and Haku’s story ended (also the line “where he’s going, I cannot follow” about Zabuza joining Haku in the afterlife was metal). I like that Zabuza got a last moment of humanization
-aw Naruto is such a wholesome, determined lil guy
-oh Naruto is gonna be so insufferable when he finds out the bridge is named after him
Ep 20:
-HELL YEAH CHUNIN EXAM TIMEEEE IM SO EXCITED
-wow Naruto is really out here fantasizing about being Sasuke’s knight in shining armor
-Sasuke is a cocky little shit but also he’s technically right about Naruto and Sakura being “worse” than him
-so far Sakura’s biggest fight has been her beating up fuckin Konohamaru
-SAND SIBLINGS SPOTTED!!!
-I don’t like Temari’s voice

"I know what you mean but I still think her motherhood is not well developed (as is to be fair the case with every female character that has kids on the show) we jump from her not wanting kids at all to her loving them like crazy. The jump felt jarring.
I also have to say I will never understand why they made her passive because she wants peace instead of the death of her son (and her miscarriage that the show never mentioned again). It kinda feels like she brushes his death away after an episode and then just proceeded not to explore it further than that. That’s not the first time it happens though, they did it with Rhaenys, Heleana and Alicent as well. The show really is not good at portraying motherhood.
Another thing that bothers me but the entirety of the narrative is to blame for that, is the fact that it feels like her motherhood is build up on “look how bad everyone else is”. That’s something I critcized about Rhaenyras writing a lot that it feels like instead of showing us something they either just use someone as a mouthpiece to tell us or put other characters down to prop her up. Due to the fact it happened so often it kinda feels like this is another instance of that. Heleanas bond with her children with her kids is barely brought up and by the end of the season it seems like she is okay with the death because it was destined to happen. Rhaenys never has a scene with her kids at all, and while she is saddened by their death I feel like it didn’t really move her character whatsoever. Alicent is basically turned into a horrible mother who loves Rhaenyra more than her kids (and I have to say I like the idea of Alicent being a bad mother because it makes sense with her circumstances, a teenage mom paranoid she is raising her kids for the slaughter due to Viserys naming Rhaenyra heir, but for the love of me cannot understand why she isn’t allowed to care about them whatsoever and why the narrative pretends it’s a good thing). It feels a lot like instead of showing us about Rhaenyra being a good mom the show just makes her look good in comparison and I don’t really like that tbh.
I think it was possible to make a comparison, of course. But I feel like the narrative rarely acknowledges that different circumstances changes their style but again blames personal failure.
One thing I did enjoy however was that while Rhaenyra seems to be a good mother she is not made out to be a perfect mother. I did like her scenes with Jace in season 2 and how she somewhat gaslighted her kids (which I find completely understandable!) regarding the bastard issue. "

Ah hello. Did you know in the T1 script book John Doe 009 VD, when 09 introduces himself, "Mikoto Kayano" personally introduces himself with the kanji spelling of his name but its alternative reading (furigana) is in katakana, not hiragana. He is the only prisoner that introduces himself in full with an alt spelling in katakana rather than Es imparting or calling a prisoner with their katakana code name in the beginning.

The speech style he has here also matches the speech style in Neoplasm where Boku was using gobi due to the usage of the particle 「さ」。(I've written a speech style analysis of 09 before but I'll have to find the notes again. I'll likely send a follow-up ask or something ^^')
This has me thinking about one of your previous posts which brought up the possibility that Mikoto "boku" Kayano, or, how others say, 🔵 and 🟢koto, don't realize that they're separate identities.
「ボクが僕を救ってあげましょう」 <- these bokus
There's also the possibility that when people have been referring to 🔵koto, they've actually been meaning 🟢koto this entire time. So are color code[name]s appropriate for 09 anymore? (/rhetorical)
What do you think? Any changes in how you perceive 09? I look forward to seeing more of your really cool analyses or thoughts on him.
Hello! Thanks so much for the ask! I did not know that; super interesting that it's unique from the other introductions. What you pointed out here is actually so intriguing, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I have been wrestling with this for some time now because it's truly a case of "Schrodinger's Alter"; we have several instances that seem to indicate 2 "boku"s, but when they're speaking without the pronoun visually accompanying it, there's no gurantee of which one is fronting in any given interaction (let alone if a completely seperate alter is masking as "Mikoto," which is unlikely because writing that would get complicated, but not impossible).
Telling them apart is likely as difficult for them as it is for us given the amnesia; however, we don’t get insight into these things without the narrative explicitly stating such. This is interesting to me because this uncomfortable ambiguity is how systems operate in daily life, sometimes even amongst ourselves.
While color codenames have lost their usefulness to me personally, colloquially I find it helpful in discussing basic theories (and even tho it's gimmicky I've just personally liked the concept); that said, for all we the audience know, ボク ("Mido") and 僕 ("Miko") could be interchangable alters in the narrative; people may very well be referring to ボク as 僕 or vice-versa in any given interaction that John isn't around.
As far as changes in perception, it's dawning on me more and more how little we know about "Mikoto" (僕 or otherwise) as an individual in his system. He's high-masking as it is, but on top of that, we have no real way of guessing which alter "he" is at any given time unless they give an indicator. It's just simplest to assume 僕 in most cases. In the case of 俺, he's an easy guess only because he is made outwardly distinct by the narrative in both speech pattern and attitude. If there is a third, we may see glimpses of them in hindsight, but either way "Mikoto" (僕) as an individual alter is yet to be known as his own person beyond his passive, "professional" demeanor.
Tbh it's giving me insight into why a system host may be widely "liked" while remaining relatively or even completely unknown as an individual person. The demeanor shown by 僕 and his desire to be popular further shows that his sense of self is purely dependent on others' perceptions of him, which is as expected as it is tragic. I think if there is a third, we're gonna see a resigned, perhaps even apathetic tone from them; the system all tried so hard for seemingly nothing. I think the more 僕 tries to disappear, the more the other could realize their place alongside John in the system, if we explicitly see ボク at all.
It's all very ambiguous so I don't get really care how others label them, but I'm near certain that "僕" is not always who we think he is. (In John's case, I typically use his name rather than his pronoun bc even if he picks a more suitable name for himself later on, I feel strange using a first-person pronoun in place of a name when he has one; in the case of "僕" Mikoto, I do find it a necessary distinction from "ボク" given the ambiguity of it all, and it's more solid than color theory imo.)
This is all just my personal conjecture on how they are writing the system. It's definitely a kind of narrative I never thought I'd get to analyze, so I'm so happy to have others to discuss with! Thanks again for the ask. I'd love to see the follow up w the speech style analysis! I love yapping w you about the little guys 🙏

red, white and royal blue
summary: where price henry and you absolutely hate each other, but then your lives turn upside down when you realise you’re in love with each other. and with your images as public figures, you must figure out the relationship while keeping it a secret at all costs.
a/n: so, as i mentioned in my prev post, this is basically red, white and royal blue by casey mcquiston reimagined. i’ve been having mixed feelings about it, but i guess it’s worth a try. i hope you like reading it!
trigger warning(s): none, tbh. a little bit of passive-aggressive conversations, mention of alcohol (most significantly champagne), falling (to the ground). tell me if you notice anymore ^-^
word count: 1.9k words ──⋆。° ♡
You readjust the sleeve of your dress out nervously, thoughts running a mile an hour — how do you get out of this wedding reception? At this point, even the usual comfortable material of the dress feels so prickly. Only if something could make it stop. You look outside the moving car, the engine’s humming filling your mind, and you huff quietly, knowing there is literally no way out of attending this event.
You look down at Nora’s screen, the news headlines playing on her phone. And you can’t help but roll your eyes subtly at it.
The newsreader mentions your names in the list of notable attendees, and this makes Nora squeal excitedly.
“She’s talking about us!”
“Ms. Claremont-Diaz, who is often referred to as the American Princess of Hearts,” a line that makes Nora chuckle to herself.
You sigh, a little frustrated at the comparison, before turning to her, with an idea in your mind that you know she won’t agree to, but it’s worth a shot.
“Hey, how about we skip the whole wedding ordeal and do really tourist-y things instead? Trust me, it will be fun.”
“No way! I want to see Buckingham Palace, don’t you?” Nora retorts which makes you scoff out of frustration. Of course she wouldn’t agree. It was a dumb thing to ask, anyway. Who doesn’t want to see Buckingham Palace?
You watch Nora turn off her phone and turn to you, shifting a little in the car seat to get more comfortable.
“Okay, you’ve been yucking my yum all day, you have to tell me what’s wrong.”
You shift a little in your spot too, leaning back, trying to ease your nerves.
“It’s the whole Price Henry thing… I mean, he’s been trained all his life for stuff like this. I’m not. It feels as if they’d look down on me if I picked up the wrong spoon for dessert. Doesn’t help the ‘feeling-out-of-place’ at all.”
You step into the palace while the car that dropped you off fades into the distance—your last chance of escape slipping away. The reality of the night settles in.
The palace guards greet you at the entrance, and you offer them a weak smile before stepping inside. A server passes with a tray of champagne, and you quickly grab a glass. You’ll need it to get through the evening.
Nora pats your shoulder and whispers into your ear, “It’s alright, take it easy.”
If only it were that easy.
You look around the ballroom, a sea of people swarming every inch of space — this is already starting to feel like the first day of elementary school, and you take a deep breath to calm your nerves because that’s all you can do.
About an hour later, all the guests line up together to be greeted by the Prince and his sister, Beatrice. You drag Nora to the end of the line, it’s your best shot at avoiding Henry for however long you can.
You lean forward, just a little, to take a look at how far away your dread is. The line inches forward, and with each step, the pit in your stomach grows.
Nora quickly pulls you back in line because it looks so odd while everyone is being greeted. She leans in, trying to make small talk to ease your nerves while teasing you.
“If I had to go for a rich, white guy — He is the rich, white guy I’d go for,” she snickered softly, your annoyed expression just intensifying at that.
“He’s so snobbish, and entitled. You don’t get how terrible he is!”
“He’s a prince, c’mon, he’s literally entitled,” Nora responds to your retaliation.
You roll your eyes, for the umpteenth time in the day, “You wouldn’t get it,” is all you manage to get out as the Prince and the Princess finally reach you.
Beatrice, the prince’s younger sister, immediately walks over to Nora, and you can only hope that she’s coming to you too — but you’re pretty sure she isn’t, afterall, you don’t know each other well.
“I’ve heard so much about you! You’re sticking with me tonight,” Beatrice tells Nora, before she drags the latter along, leaving you with Henry, which immediately fills you with a sense of dread.
You and Henry exchange glances for the second, the awkward kind, since neither of you really know what to say to each other.
“Nice to see you at the party,” Henry extends his hand in an attempt to clear the air. You see the opening. The perfect chance to show him exactly how little you care.
You glance down at his hand, then back up at him, letting the silence stretch just long enough to make your point. Then, without a word, you turn on your heel and walk away. You don’t look back, but you can feel the air shift—like a held breath, like a barely restrained reaction. Like victory.
By the later half of the party, you’re basically drunk. Conscious enough to remain aware of your surroundings and actions, but drunk enough to have no inhibitions. You observe Henry talking to everyone at the party, deliberately avoiding you.
With all your inhibitions lifted, and apprehension of embarrassing yourself gone, you walk over to the prince who is too busy talking to another one of the guests.
Sometime later, your patience wears thin and you just think to yourself, ‘Screw it,’ before getting up from the cabriole and walking over to Henry, who is still busy talking to others.
“Henry!”
You call out to him with a smile on your face, not a smile of genuine happiness at seeing him, rather one that promises that no good is going to come from this interaction.
Henry fixes his blazer as he sees you walk over to him, a hint of unamusement evident on his face. However, he tries his best to keep a straight face to not cause any unwanted disaster on his brother’s big day, at least.
“What’s up? Long time no see,” you continue saying to him in a singy-songy tone that is a clear giveaway to the fact that you’re tipsy, if not drunk. As you approach him, you clink your glass of champagne to his — and this confuses him as he looks down at your glasses, together, with a puzzled expression, but pulls himself back to reality nonetheless to keep himself on-guard so he can make sure you don’t cause trouble. He looks up at you, “Evening,” he tries his best to put on a smile, though he fails miserably at it.
“Killer wedding, man. Why don’t you loosen up a bit?”
The prince watches you take another sip of your champagne as you finish talking. “I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself,” Henry responds, intentionally ignoring your question earlier, as he looks straight ahead, almost as if he doesn’t want to be seen talking to you.
Meanwhile, it’s clear as day that you are too drunk to actually care if he looks at you while you interact or not. “Ah, yeah. I am enjoying, I am. Who doesn’t love a little Mozart?”
“It’s actually Schubert.”
“Tomato, to-mah-to.”
Henry’s face spells out that he’s mildly annoyed, no matter how much he tries to hide it, but he knows there's no point trying to tell you about it, so he resorts to muttering a “Not quite,” under his breath which is audible enough to be heard.
You move over to the table where the huge cake is kept, “Although, you’ve got to wonder how many families you could feed with what this cake costs.”
“Probably not as many as if we put your shoes on auction.”
You scoff softly, “Uh, rude.” You keep your glass on the table, blissfully unaware of the fact that it has touched the cake’s icing. To the point that moving the glass will leave a shabby icing flower.
Henry goes back to conversing with the other guests as you grab the glass before deciding to walk closer to him.
“Tell me something, Your Majesty,” you look down at the mushy feeling between your fingers and notice the icing on the glass, which is already on your hand by now which means it’s too late to fix the mess — both the damage on the cake and the icing on your hand.
“Yes?”
The prince turns to answer you, as you hurriedly hide the mess by moving your glass and hands behind your back.
“Did your parents send you to snobbery school or does looking down on people come naturally to you?”
“Well, in your case, it’s rather inevitable,” Henry responds, walking closer to you.
“We are almost the same people!” You protest while taking a step towards him.
“Almost being the keyword,” he says, calmly, which absolutely pisses you off. “Great to see you,” he adds, sarcastically, indicating the end of your conversation.
“You, too, Your Majesty.”
“Actually, “Your Royal Highness.” “Your Majesty” is reserved for the king.”
“Thank you for the ‘etiquette’ lesson,” you retort, annoyed by now.
“You’re in desperate need of you,” Henry says, his passive-aggressive undertone shining through his ‘calm’ demeanour, and with that, he turns around.
You shuffle towards him, “You know what?” you say, placing your hand on his shoulder — unfortunately, the one with the icing on it. The smushy sound gives away that there’s something much less pleasant on your hand that’s just made contact with Henry’s blazer.
He looks down at his shoulder, and as the scene before him registers, his eyes widen in horror as his jaw drops a little. Your face has horror written all over it too as you realise what you’ve just caused and the possible consequences of this little thing.
“I am so sorry,” you move closer to him, trying to gather the icing in your hand, doing whatever your clouded head says, and you just end up making a bigger mess.
Henry pushes you away, subtly, as his brother notices something off with the way things look between you two. His brother looks to his wife, who is equally aware of the scene unfolding and Henry quickly pulls out a handkerchief trying to wipe the icing off his shoulder.
“I can fix this, just give me your handkerchief,” you offer, while Henry just places your glass on the edge of the table as you try your best to be of any help, though you are not.
By now, the two of you have started getting everyone’s attention as the attendees notice the exchange between you two. You get into a tug-of-war with the prince, trying to get hold of his handkerchief as you accidentally let go, making him crash into the table with the cake.
“Oh, no, no, no, no, no,” you almost shout out, as Henry tries to grab your arm before dragging the both of you to the ground, right before the cake topples over.
The music crescendos, and you two realise it’s far too late to even try and get up. You try to shield yourself from the impending disaster but holding your hands up to cover your face while Henry tries to make sense of what just happened to him. And in a moment, all everyone sees is the Price and the First Daughter covered in wedding cake, while they gasp in unison.
“Henry!”
Prince Philip shouts, in fury, which was an inevitable reaction. Afterall, you did waste a 75,000£ cake on the Prince’s special day.
The two of you, aware of the surrounding, cannot help but not care about others, rather just help yourself out of this mess. You in your arms, and the Prince on his knees when the two of you hear a camera shutter — this is making it to the national news.

I saw a tt and IHM spawned in my mind👁️👁️
Is ihmGojo the type of man to cut off with a female friend of his (if he has) bc reader asked to?
Also, is ihmreader the type to ask that? Yk, with what happened between Choso and Hana (is that her name?)
But now I want to know these two questions abt Kickoff too😭
:>
🤔 hmmnnn
i feel like ihm gojo would if reader really wanted him to! but it’d be severely context dependent…but i think overall he’d be more concerned about the why? like what is it ab his friendship w this person that’s making reader upset? and i think he’d be more inclined to fix his own behavior or provide reassurance than just cut someone off that he’s genuinely friends with
i think it’s definitely something ihm reader would think like she’d really wish he didn’t speak to her or something but i don’t think she’d ask that of him tbh her inclination would probs be just to distance herself from it or be passive aggressive until gojo finally asks her what’s wrong LOL
ihm gojo just kinda strikes me as the kinda guy that if he knows he’s doing right, he doesn’t really concern himself too much w what others might think ab his actions, his own partner included. but he’d do what he can on his own front to make sure that she feels secure without making any drastic decisions
as for kickoff yes absolutely kickoff reader would ask that of him if she sees fit and he would obey like a fearful puppy HAHAHA

Okay! So, I’ve finally watched the Netflix Live Action ATLA and gathered my thoughts! Spoilers under the cut…
Overall score: 7/10
Overall thoughts: I was actually pleased! I wasn’t going in expecting it to be like the original series, and I was really excited to see how they would tell the story, what they would keep, and what they would change. I think that they did a great creative job melding a bunch of story lines together in a way that made sense, but, on a negative note, they did miss some key character beats that ranged from baffling to unforgivable. I loved this cast, and I think they all embodied their characters so well (Dallas Lui as Zuko?!? Hello?! *Chef’s kiss*). Deliveries were a bit stilted (to be expected with young actors just starting out), but I actually found it endearing, and they’ll only get better with practice. The bending wasn’t nearly as punchy or fun to watch in live action (especially the water bending. Oof), but it was leaps and bounds better than the Movie That Must Not Be Named. Below are the major takeaways:
Things I disliked
- Making the discovery and freeing of Aang completely passive. In the animated show, this was brought about BY Katara and Sokka. Their characters and their bickering, which caused Kataras rage, which caused her to waterbend, which caused her to free Aang. In the live action, it just… happens? Randomly? Nothing caused it, and it was a much weaker moment because of it.
- They took away Zuko’s crucial moments of mercy. Yes, they have him save the 41st, and yes, they have him hesitate during his Agni Kai with Ozai… BUT he was about to burn Katara on Kyoshi island? When she was down and unarmed?? At the North Pole, he was about to burn Zhao, who was also down and unarmed?? Absolutely not. No. No way. He wouldn’t even burn Zhao in the original show, because he knows what it’s like to be burned and despite his rage, he is a good person. There is absolutely no way he would be willing to harm someone who is unarmed.
- Sokka not explicitly asking Suki to train him. We NEEDED to see that humility where he asks for their help, not just him staring wistfully through the door and her taking pity. Humble him!!!!
- Sokka not being involved in the Jet storyline. I know that Katara is more obviously the choice to get involved here (love interest, etc), but Sokka and Jet are foils! They are both young men tasked with protecting people they love. Not having Sokka’s moment where his skepticism and independence saves the day is such a loss for his character. This could have even been kept in the Omashu storyline, with Sokka evacuating a building before a bomb goes off, etc.
- Why the literal heck did Bumi himself come to the front of the palace to receive the inventions from Sai?? What the hell even was that scene??
- Cutting the Haru storyline. This episode is crucial for Katara, who has WAY too little to do in this show, tbh. Her rallying the earth kingdom prisoners, and encouraging them to fight back is so so so important. I think they tried to move this to the Northern Water tribe storyline (when she rallies the women) but we don’t SEE it!! It happens offscreen!!!!
- Minor, but the blue spirit mask looked kinda dumb. I wish they had taken inspiration from real kabuki masks and made it more scary.
- I personally feel that Ozai is TOO personable in this adaptation. I’m guessing Daniel Dae Kim probably had a lot of say over the portrayal of this character, but I don’t think they made him dark enough. Ozai is cruel and that is CRUCIAL. He is abusive and manipulative, and hateful. Framing Zuko’s banishment and mutilation as if these were deliberate “learning moments,” rather than cruel, unjustifiable abuse is character assassination.
- Azula isn’t Azula. No shade to the actress, but the script has her written as a hot-headed, temperamental teenager desperate to prove herself. That’s ZUKO! Azula should be able to make grown men per their pants. Do her bidding. She can command armies. She never lets you see her weaknesses or her walls. She is cold, calculating, and terrifying. She is 13 steps ahead of you. Live action Azula loses her temper during a fight, talks back to Ozai (?!?!), and whines to Mai and Ty Lee about her frustrations. That’s not Azula.
- The “ice moon” thing at the North Pole? Why? Why aren’t there any spirits in this world? There’s no need to change that.
- Zhao’s death!?! What the hell was that!?!? No no no no no. Absolutely awful in every possible way. Where was his karmic justice?!? Why introduce the Fog of Lost Souls if you weren’t going to show Zhao getting pulled down into it?!? Where was Zuko, offering him mercy, despite everything? Where was Zhao’s pride, refusing his hand?? Furthermore, you make Iroh of all people a murderer?!? Fine, you could have him intervene and push Zhao into the water like he pushed him down after the Agni Kai in the original series. But to kill him?? Unprompted?! In cold blood?! Zhao wasn’t even his opponent!! Horrifying and disturbing. Unforgivable.
Things I loved
- The order of events. I actually love starting 100 years in the past and not making it clear what is about to happen. I also love that it isn’t clear just how long Aang has been asleep for! I love love love that dramatic irony if you know, and the reveal if you don’t.
- Aang stealing Zuko’s notebook. Finally, it’s explained how the gaang knew Zuko’s name lol
- Aang & Iroh meeting and chatting on the ship when he’s captured! It’s such a small scene, but felt so reminiscent of their conversation from Book 2 that it made me happy.
- Suki being so awkward!! Yes girl!! You have clearly never flirted before and it is obvious! I also loved having her mother be the matriarch of the village. Makes total sense tbh.
- Fleshing out Omashu! I love that they combined Jet & the Mechanist here. It makes Omashu feel more real, and it’s a natural place to put these storylines. I think this was really well done. Also bringing Iroh & Zuko into the story here was seamless, and worked to further both their characters (Zuko choosing Iroh over Aang, Iroh sacrificing himself to save Zuko)
- Having Bumi be an angry old man. This is controversial, but if we put aside Legend of Korra for a second where canon says Aang and him stay bffs, this actually makes a lot of sense. It’s not fair that Aang got to be asleep for 100 years. Bumi, as he said, had to struggle and suffer during that entire time. I’m glad that not everyone is like “it’s okay, it’s not your fault” because it kind of is!! I’m glad they had someone to actually hold him accountable a bit!
- Aang and Zuko connecting during the Blue Spirit episode. Aang making Zuko smile! Them joking! Them feeling pity for each other! The star-crossed friendship of it all! Gorgeous, gorgeous scene.
- Expanding on the theme of friendship vs. isolation. It’s such a key theme in the animated series that flies under the radar, and I really like how they took it and seemed to run with it.
- Azula collaborating with Zhao. It makes so much sense, since Zhao is just some rando tbh?It sets up both the Dai Li storyline and sibling rivalry nicely in season 2.
- Having Zuko’s crew be the division he saved?!?! A stroke of absolute genius.
- No Kataang!! I’m so sorry, but I honestly always felt that any romance in the original series was gratuitous, odd, and oh so Western. This is a story about children at war. I’m glad the romance is taking a back seat.
- Having Pakku see Katara for HER, rather than for her grandmother!! I always hated that in the original show! She fights her damn heart out and he still won’t train her UNTIL he sees her grandmother’s necklace. It always felt like the age-old blight of men not being able to care about a woman unless they have, or can image having, a personal connection to them (What if that was your mother, daughter, etc). I LOVE this change.
- Katara rallying the other women!! Pulling up everyone!! This is such an obvious change I can’t believe they didn’t have this in the original show. As I said, though, I do wish we saw her speech to them. That’s such an important character moment.

I think some people are overstepping their boundaries a little or a lot, tbh. Taehyung and Jimin were the ones who referred to themselves as soulmates so it's nobody else's place to speak over them on that matter. They know their relationship better than any of us and we don't know what time they spend together or how they interact behind closed doors. We always say that just because we don't see Taekook interactions doesn't mean they're not happening so why are people switching up on that now and acting like what we see or don't see on the screen encapsulates and defines their entire relationship? Like, don't be hypocritical.
I think some of the implications are really treading close to calling them both liars and fake and peddling BS to the fans because if it is just a narrative, then they're heavily complicit in pushing it so it's putting them and their integrity in the line of fire and do we really think that's fair to them just because all they did was hang out in public together?
And now people are in the asks speaking for Tae, talking about how he was disappointed that it wasn't JK like they personally know him or his feelings on the matter even when Taehyung said or gave no implication that he was unhappy or disappointed that Jimin was there.
I'm gonna be blunt and say that some of these comments are coming off as bitter, shipper bullshit with people trying to put words in Tae's mouth when what they really mean is that THEY are the ones disappointed that they didn't get their Taekook fix. It's disappointing really because I thought most of us had moved past that level of entitlement and realised that the members aren't obligated to adjust or forgo their other relationships with each other outside of Taekook in order to suit us.
Taehyung and Jimin have made it perfectly clear how much they think of each other, how much they love each and how important their relationship is to them and they've made it perfectly clear to me that their relationship is 100% platonic so why are Taekookers in the threads acting threatened and bitter?
Yes, people do play the maknae line off against each other and their interactions and relationships are weaponised by haters and shippers but why should that lead to people questioning things that Tae and Jimin have specifically said themselves with words out of their own mouths and that the other members have pointedly AND passively reinforced?
I don't know if it's because people automatically romanticise the word 'soulmate' and have no idea what kind of relationship it really refers to but the 'everyone is lying about Vmin's friendship and we know themselves better than them' narrative is kinda nuts since it implicates them directly in the lie. There's no shady BigHit tricks to blame for that one since it's come directly from the horse's mouth.
Imagine seeing vmin together, being happy together, and still managing to find a problem with it.
Lame.
Hi anon!
To me it looks like there’s different reasons people have for talking the way they do about this. To some it is indeed just to get a Taekook fix. I have seen people very invested in Taekook as a ship, but not so much in BTS as a band. Some are even very deep in the more ‘crazy’ type of narratives, it almost feels as though they are trying to fight a battle here. And while the intentions are probably not bad (they truly think Tae and Jk have to be rescued) it’s not based on reality imo. To those people seeing Jimin there and Jk just having left for a schedule, it looks like Jk is purposefully sent away and Jimin is the point they place some of their anger on.
I don’t personally follow accounts that push narratives that are really out there, but on occasion I get sent stuff from for instance that Taennieisaflop account (apparently they changed their name) and it’s truly so harmful what they do there. They have many followers (hopefully a lot who just follow for the drama and don’t actually buy what is said) who go along with what they say. It actually undermines the members at times.
I do also think that the word ‘soulmate’ carries different connotations for different cultures. In mine for instance, it’s used very much to describe a romantic bond. You’d actually have to clarify that it’s not romantic in nature or people will just assume. But I do think to all actual BTS fans it’s very clear that Tae and Jimin are very much platonic.

Albert/Spadille/Cheque Plot Notes
Here's a massive post of my ideas regarding these new characters of mine......??? I haven't had OCs based in a fantasy-ish universe since i was like in middle school or something so idk if any of this makes sense LOL;; This is also subject to change if I end up not liking any of this stuff, idk. Anyway yeah feel free to read if you're interested!
unrelated but i've been informed that "overlord" is like a social class in Hazbin Hotel so i will probably change what i call my "demon leaders" in this story at some point just to distance myself LMAOAOAOAOO. anyway i'm too lazy to change all that i've typed so i'm calling them overlords for now.
Notes about the setting and social structure:
The setting is the underworld or something? Or just a place with a bunch of demon-looking characters lol.... it's not really evil or edgy or anything, i just wanted to make demon-looking OCs. I also imagine it looking like nighttime outside like all the time.
I’m not really concretely sure how the world is organized but it’s something like there are a handful of demons (maybe less than 10?) who are considered "overlords" that have more spheres of influence than regular demons. I think each overlord kind of controls a specific building/business, and they influence the area surrounding that building. (That said, the overlord only directly controls/manages their own building).
A regular demon can become an overlord by either signing a contract with a current overlord and subsuming their role, or by defeating a current overlord (and subsequently signing a contract).
Demons gain extra powers when signing the overlord contract, which makes them much more powerful than regular demons. Because of this, most regular demons don’t challenge overlords and likewise exchanges of power are extremely uncommon.
Most of the overlords have been in their position of power for many years.
An overlord can be expelled from power by the other overlords if that overlord does not adhere to the rules of the contract. (idk what the specifics of the contract are tbh, and I think in-universe the contract rules may be arbitrary and constantly changing to the opinions of the overlords with the most influence or smth)
While the overlords are rivals of sorts competing for influence over the areas surrounding their businesses, they also meet periodically to discuss the state of the underworld, how to divvy up power between the group of them, and to modify the terms of the contract. (?? Vague, idk I’m kind of making this up as I go)
Idk why, but demons also take on a random fancy name when they become overlords. (?????? I might nix this bc it has no purpose)
Albert:
General:
Albert is the newest overlord. No one in-universe is exactly sure how he became an overlord. He controls a casino, which is relatively successful but not really growing in influence. His casino opened in the underworld around 5 years ago.
His overlord name is King Casiopia. (???)
Given that he’s a new overlord, and also due to the success of his casino, there’s a rumor among those living outside the casino that Albert’s an extremely powerful and ruthless demon. Some suspect that he became overlord by defeating a former overlord in battle.
In reality he’s kind of spineless and wimpy. He’s stupid meticulous about numbers and book-keeping, which is how he’s able to maintain success with his business. His management style is kind of sloppy though. (
Albert is very easily influenced by the opinions of others and will cave into demands if someone either a) sweet-talks him or b) pressures him too much.
He’s often looked down on by the other overlords and they often push their responsibilities onto him due to his passiveness. He also has a habit of trying to kiss up to the other overlords with the hopes of expanding his sphere of influence, but his efforts tend to reinforce his subservient position.
He’s supposed to have other powers as overlord but idfk what they are lksdjflsjdf I think maybe he gains special access to certain places in the underworld or something like that. Who knows. I'll mull over this later.
He has a bit of a materialistic streak and has fantasies of appearing extravagant and powerful.
Within the casino:
Fsr I imagine the casino to be several stories high, and all the employees and Albert live there. (??)
Albert spends most of his time in his office on a higher floor doing administrative work to keep the casino running (????)
On rare occasions when Spadille can’t perform, Albert will cover her shift for her. This is the only main-floor work that he does. (?)
Most of the casino workers find him eccentric and reclusive. Some know that he’s relatively easy to manipulate and take advantage of this.
Spadille:
Spadille is Albert’s longest-standing employee; she’s been working for him since the casino opened.
Her main responsibilities are singing/performing for patrons, acting as wait staff, and being Albert’s bodyguard.
Given how overlord exchange in power works, it’s not uncommon for people to come to the casino to challenge Albert for his position. (?? Maybe idk. I like imagining action scenes but idk how to draw or utilize them)
Spadille usually takes on challenging patrons in lieu of Albert; she's generally a competent fighter, albeit a bit hectic with her methods.
She’s also good with a gun.
Often after battles she leaves the casino a wreck.
Like I mentioned above, she's also a singer/performer for the casino. In terms of performance style, she’s high-energy and a little wacky with how she sings/performs. (?? my personal inspo in this regard has been No Doubt self-titled album but you can interpret this however you want)
Even though she’s been working at the casino the longest, she’s also the employee to goof off the most.
Despite her slacker tendencies she’s popular with the patrons and good at reeling customers in
Everyone who works at the casino knows that she likes Albert.
She tends to come off a bit air-headed and goofy, but she has an underlying sense of ambition and intensity that sometimes clashes with her external presentation.
She’s also not as gullible or clueless as she seems, but she’s not opposed to being interpreted as such.
She also often travels with Albert as his bodyguard during external meetings with the other overlords
Cheque
Cheque’s the newest hire at the casino.
Their responsibilities are typically mixing drinks/manning the bar and being a dealer at the gambling tables.
Since they’re in relatively close contact with the casino patrons and can easily overhear conversations, they often pick up on a lot of the gossip that’s going around the underworld.
They’re competent at their tasks but never do more than what’s asked of them and only do as much as they are compensated for. They’re relatively strict about this rule.
Likewise, they’re willing to be an informant for others so long as they’re given a fair price.
Cheque’s also a competent fighter when challengers are at the casino, but they typically leave any fighting to Spadille (again, they technically don’t get paid for fighting so for them it’s generally not worth the effort).
They don’t really mingle with the other casino workers, but Spadille chats with them a lot so the two of them are relatively close. (Cheque acts passive, but doesn’t mind her company at work)
On off days Cheque plays guitar and goes to clubs. (?? Two things I do not do myself so idk lmaoaoao)
Sometimes they and Spadille perform as a duo at the clubs Cheque goes to. (??) (again you don’t have to adhere to this but my music inspo for this is sth like the Sleigh Bells album Treats)
They get enjoyment out of bullying Albert lol but the two of them are more or less friends. That said they staunchly do not treat Albert like their superior.
They do call Albert “boss” sometimes, but it’s like a joke to them.
Their flippant attitude and seeming lack of ambition tends to get on others’ nerves (Albert) but they don’t actually do anything wrong so they never get punished for it. (?? Idk what this bullet point is)
They seem to be saving up money for something big, but it’s unclear exactly what their ultimate goal is.
Albert and Spadille backstory
(note: this all would be spoilers if I did anything formal with this story but I’m not going to so lol whatever, enjoy these spoilers)
Spadille used to be an overlord, but due to her acting up and not adhering to the rules of the contract, she was ousted from her position. (I’m not really sure what rules she broke tbh I haven’t thought that hard about it lmfao)
She befriended Albert while he was working as a performer at a place (club? Idk) that would later become the casino. (idk I love making OCs who are singers/performers. I feel like it’s excessive to make all 3 main OCs musical performers but I’m wacky I’m crazy.)
She makes a deal/contract with Albert for him to exchange powers/social positions with him—since she was a former overlord, the terms of the contract are for Albert to take on the role of overlord while Spadille assumes a lower position.
The goal of this exchange is that Albert is to act as overlord while Spadille acts as his personal bodyguard, thus allowing Spadille to gain access to the overlord sphere without actually being an overlord. (To be clear, this is both Albert and Spadille’s shared plan that they agreed on when Albert signed the contract)
I haven’t really decided what their ultimate goal is—either for Spadille to reassume power as an overlord, or to overthrow the overlord institution altogether? Idk.
Along this line, I’ve considered that Cheque’s goal is also to overthrow the overlord institution, but it’s sth that they’ve been planning independently (sth to do with them saving up their money); and it just coincidentally works out that their goal is the same as Albert’s and Spadilles lol
Anyway in other words, although publicly Albert is Spadille’s boss at the casino, Spadille is actually Albert’s boss as former overlord and the one who offered the contract to him.
One of the main sources of tension within the story is supposed to be Albert prioritizing his place within the overlord system vs him staying devoted to Spadille, her plan, and people he cares about on a personal level? In that while Albert entered Spadille’s plan knowing that his overlord position is only a means to an end, he’s still easily charmed by the perks of having power and influence. But idk if I’m actually willing to try to write “complicated” stuff like that lmfao I mostly just draw silly random scenes about nothing. I have no idea what the conclusion to this story would be either.
The contract between Spadille and Albert is a covert agreement and plan; no one knows that Spadille used to be an overlord, and no one knows that Albert became an overlord by signing a contract with Spadille.
Cheque suspects something fishy about the two of them, but mostly keeps it to themself.
Somehow my relationship inspo with these two re: their contract with each other is kind of like Howl and Calcifer (movie version), with Albert as Howl and Calcifer as Spadille….??? Obv the personalities are totally different lmaoaoaoa but like the idea of exchange in power. Idk.
Albert and Spadille relationship
As noted above, Albert is Spadille’s boss externally while Spadille is Albert’s boss internally.
While that’s their relationship on paper, the two of them are actually just close friends who care about each other.
In private there's no power tension between them re: the overlord stuff.
They both have romantic feelings for each other and are devoted to one another. Spadille is interested in being in a serious relationship with Albert. Albert is kind of cagey about dating for no particular reason. (?? Idk I think he’s just embarrassed and paranoid abt gossip)
Spadille is affectionate with Albert basically all the time.
Albert is relatively close and friendly to Spadille in public, but he’s more soft and affectionate with her in private.
The two of them often hang out together when they’re not working.
Other
I vaguely want there to be an evil character (one of the overlords, maybe the most powerful one) but idk at all how to write evil characters or stories with an antagonist, so. Whatever. I have not fleshed out this idea like at all.
The evil character would b the one with heart symbols on his cheeks to kind of book-end the “card suits on cheeks” aesthetic I have w these characters lmfao.
This character would likely be the one who removed Spadille from the overlords, and who has the most influence to change the terms of the overlord contract (often to the detriment of others and to the benefit of himself).
Idk if this really matters, but I also envision employee/employer dynamics in this univers to be like… unrealistic lol. I think the meaning of being a "boss" and an "employee" in this universe is totally different than what it’s like working in a company irl since this is all like… some weird fantasy demon world, idk. Idk if ppl's livelihoods in this universe really depends on having a job, it's just sth that ppl do. (??? this stuff doesn't rly matter but idk was just mulling over it)
Along that line, I think money does still have weight or power in this universe, but it's different than like irl money. I think it's somehow tied to like some sort of magical abilities or sth. no idea tho.
.....anyway that's about it!!!! Will I draw any of this??? probably not. I'm really bad at drawing plot-y things. But yeah thanks for reading!

just wondering, in the OATSH canon, what did Vox do to wind up in hell? will reader ever find out?
it's just funny to me that Al and the reader are straight up serial killers, and Vox, who's only crime so far is being mildly manipulative and annoying, is down here with us.
tbh I'd be interested in a fic just about that. not even a reader insert, just Vox's fall from grace in detail.
So, Vox is in Hell for probably a multitude of reasons. I’d say his biggest sin is his pride or his envy.
The fall from grace actually began before Vox met reader but the thing that really sealed the deal for him going to Hell would have been the moment he became complicit in reader’s crimes. That’s actually why I had reader stab the right eye specifically because that’s the eye we see Vox use with his hypnosis. That was like the “oh, yeah, you’re not a good person” moment that sealed him was the fact he never did anything to reveal that they were a serial killer.
After their death, he sort of fell into a spiral. He became obsessed with work and fucked over a lot of people. It’s actually sort of funny because reader kind of both made that worse and stalled it. He would have done this either way because he had an obsessive personality type but reader sort of caught his attention for a couple years.
I will say, one of the things I’ve been hinting at just a bit is that Vox sort of stalked reader. Again, this man is obsessive. He kept his eyes open in every way possible for them when he finally made contact with them and they hooked him in. He scoured newspapers, television programs, and radio shows alike trying to figure out information about them.
It’s part of why he wasn’t too shocked and was able to accept the fact that reader was a serial killer because he subconsciously had clues already. The defending of Alastor’s moral code, the insistence they aren’t a good person, how several newspapers would have murders front and center when there was an excerpt about them.
Obviously, we know that Vox is a prideful character. He’s a prideful man, obsessed with his image. The envy comes in a more subtle sense. It is envy over people who got what he didn’t, the ability to have a relationship with the one they love. He ends up being sort of passive or outright rude to couples he meets. He tried to fill the void with status, money, and sex but it never ends up working.
There’s also the fact that Vox ended up screwing a lot of people over. I mean “thou shalt not bear false witness” and whatnot. On the topic of the Ten Commandments though, “thou shalt not have no gods before me.” Vox ended up putting a lot of things before god. He cursed god’s name.
I do believe that as a white man in the 1920s-1950s, he would have grown up religious and he broke nearly every single one of the Ten Commandments. The ones I’ll explicitly say he didn’t break was “thou shalt not commit adultery” and “thou shalt not kill.” Obviously, he never got married so he couldn’t commit adultery (though he did have premarital sex) and he didn’t outright kill anyone even if he was complicit.
It’s kind of obvious in contrast that reader’s main sin would be wrath. They did kill a lot of people. However, unlike Alastor, I don’t think it’d be wrath and gluttony. Instead it would be wrath and pride. Murder and an obsession with image born out of the period’s racist believes and actually probably from Alastor and Mimzy. Obviously, Mimzy’s sin is greed but I can also see her being a very vain character and Alastor has this “don’t let anyone see the struggles” sort of attitude. Combine those traits in caretakers and you’ll end up with a character who is at least very knowledgeable in how they come off. Add to that being in child care services as child of color and they never really had a chance.
It’s kind of been established in my eyes that heaven doesn’t care why you do something, just that you do it. Which is why characters like Angel are in hell. Now, Angel did grow up in the mob but his main sin seems to be his gluttony and lust. Angel was a gay man who grew up in a homophobic time period. That very well contributed to why those things would be his sins. Lust due to the inability to explicitly and unapologetically be himself. Glutton because drugs and alcohol are escapes from the reality that he could not find acceptance. Very similar reasons as to why reader is in Hell for pride at least.
Unlike Vox, they were not willing to put their pride away for anything. At least, not at first. I think being around them definitely opened up Vox to a worldview he didn’t see before and it made it easier for him to eventually manipulate people because of that.
So, yes, Vox didn’t go to hell because of something extremely obviously bad but he still wasn’t a good person. He put himself above others and the people he cared about above god. He is in hell for good reasons and bad reasons. There’s things he did that were outright, obviously not the moves of good people and things more so in a grey area.
Maybe he didn’t commit murderer first hand but he still (in a way) covered it up. He lied, stole, cheated, manipulated, obsessed, and would indulge in acts of sexual nature despite never having the intention of getting married after reader died. He had no qualms using his looks and charm to get what he wanted and felt absolutely no remorse for anything that he did. Not a good person, not the worst, but in the eyes of god definitely earned his seat in Hell.

I agree 1000% I really enjoy Stassi, she was made for reality tv and yes she may have a high ego like Jax or Sandoval BUT to me she makes up for it by being a good friend and actually interesting and funny.
I also love Kristen she was made for reality tv LOL the way she is SO invested in everyone else’s lives is so funny to me LOL
I know that season 3 is kinda boring and so is season 4 a little but trust me! Power through! I won’t give anything away but trust me the show and drama gets as good as gold soon 🤭✨
I literally am obsessed with Stassi like I was so sad when she wasn’t like the main character in season 3 and she no longer appeared first in the intro sequence that season??? Like wtf??? And then she was gone for most of season 4 and then when she came back, I feel like the whole cast was super unfair towards her like idk why she had to apologise THAT much?? But I’m on season 5 now and luckily the queen is back!!! And she’s front and centre with her name first in the intro too!!! As she deserves 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼 I seriously love Stassi so much, she’s so so beautiful like that face card is insane and the fact that she’s also clever and funny and quick witted SHE IS JUST WOW!!! I’m enjoying season 5 sm bc she’s back!!! Also her having a “high ego” isn’t a bad thing, she just knows her worth and always has! But she fights just as hard for her friends as she does for herself! A true girls girl tbh and reality TV icon.
Also maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I really don’t like Ariana??? Like she’s the typical “chill girlfriend” and she does too much trying to be one of the guys and thinking she’s too superior to hang out with the girlies. And we all know how well being the “chill girlfriend” worked out for her in the end lmfao 👀 but she’s just so boring and drab and just like… how did she last on the show for so long like I literally fall asleep during her and Sandoval’s scenes…
Also speaking of Sandoval, I think this man is a psycho so has serious issues and secretly just hates women. And he always needs to be right. Idk I just get this really bad vibe from him. Like Jax is openly psychotic and Tom Schwartz is a bitch but Sandoval is sneaky psycho… Like he’s so passive aggressive towards a lot of the women, he claims to be over the situation with Kristen but he rolls his eyes and huffs whenever she speaks?? And Kristen in season 4 is literally just living her best life and he’s still so bothered??? Idk both him and Ariana give me such a weird vibe like they have a superiority complex or something. Although I don’t think Ariana is evil but Sandoval really gives evil vibes the more I watch.
Also, I think James is horrifically disrespectful in the way he speaks to women and he deffo has a drinking problem but I feel like he’s very much playing a character. Like he knows what will get him screentime and that’s what he purposely does and I feel like the character he plays on TV is 90% an act and you can kind of tell! Also I like Lala but I hate how much makeup she had on at the season 4 reunion like she looks so much better natural.

I wondered how Sakuno and Shouhei are with each other, but then I also got thinking and wondered how Sakuno handled the boys who are really the opposite of Shouhei, like really quiet Fujishima or caustic Eric? Having someone cute and sweet like Sakuno and having her interact with Eric, I wondered a little how that goes.
If you don’t mind, I’m just gonna copy and paste what I sent in our DMs since i wrote a lot in response to your questions!
Im gonna be biased as hell here, but shouhei/sakuno are my fave out of the couples. To me, theyre somewhat of an opposites attract, but not too much of an extreme to the point their relationship starts struggling or dies out. Shouhei has always been extroverted and confident from the get go, while sakuno is introverted and developed more confidence as she grew older since she was more on the shy side as a kid.
Shouhei is carefree, while sakuno overthinks a lot. Shouhei is straightforward, while sakuno is passive aggressive unless youre kaoru (she’s trying, okay?) Shouhei was a violent delinquent, while sakuno grew up sheltered.
But thats pretty much where their (major) differences end tbh. They both know how to use their looks and appeal to get what they want, in a more innocent and subtle way. Their members also like to dunk on them for being the more naive and clueless ones of the group, but theyre both more perceptive than they let on. Theyre also known as the romanticists of their groups, both preferring a serious relationship. However, shouhei is a bit more laidback, taking a “if it happens, it will happen” approach whereas sakuno tries to actively date and gets disheartened when things dont work out.
They also share genuine interests in music, both have the most popular fashion within their groups, being active (sakuno ends up teaching shouhei how to play tennis since thats the only sport she plays if shes not at the gym), and share some mutual friends (they end up meeting each other through a mutual friend who is shouhei’s friend from the manga, just gotta make up a name for her). And sakuno grew up with extroverts around her, most of them being her close girl friends who played a huge role in developing her confidence as she grew, so she will mesh with shouhei pretty well (also stealing your headcanon about shouhei preferring to be closer to introverts vs extroverts like him). I think his boyish charms will complement her girlish charms.
As for their general dynamic, they both knew of each other, but didnt think much of each other besides “i know theyre technically the enemy, but he/she is pretty cute.” But they officially got introduced to each other through a mutual friend in a small party at her apartment, and thats when they really start to pay attention. They both try to keep their distance from each other at first, but the more they drank, the more closer they got. It originally started off with them cuddling and lowkey flirting, to having a full blown make out session once shouhei moves a strand of hair from her face and mumbles something about her face being too pretty to hide.
They were both lost in their own world until someone drunkenly bumps into them and sakuno realizes that she shouldnt be getting too close with him while shouhei can’t stop thinking about how her lips felt against his, how soft she felt in his arms, and how good she smelt. They’re both smitten, but sakuno is more cautious cause of the dating ban put on her group and the reputation of shouhei’s group, while shouhei starts to actively pursue her, wanting to spend more time together.
Once they get together, theyre playful and flirty with each other. When they start to get closer and really open up with each other, shouhei lets sakuno trace her finger against the scars littered across his chest and back from fights he indulged in when he was younger. How he was so wild and reckless and at one point he got into a huge fight with his old man and how he will never forget the look on his mom’s face when he punched his dad. Sakuno confides him in how during her lowest moments as a teen where she momentarily hung out with the wrong influences and let an older man groom her. and how she didn’t think of stopping the affair despite knowing he has a wife and kids because she was so stupid and desperate and just wanted to feel love.
When sakuno first meets the other guys through shouhei, she found fuji intimidating at first due to his stoic/blank expression, spiked hair, and piercings. But she soon learns that he’s actually the kindest out of all the guys, and like your au, she bonds with him over animals. Sakuno mentions of getting a pet cat, and fuji immediately recommends her to adopt a cat from some of the shelters he knows.
Ngl with eric, i can see sakuno having a minor crush on or thinking that she would like him the best, before she met shouhei. Eric is similar to some of the guys she had a thing for in the past, all quiet but quick with a rude or witty retort. But in general, she is kinda intimidated by him and is a little more quiet than usual around him cause she’s scared of him being mean to her, while eric doesn’t really care too much about her. But if i didnt pair her with shouhei, i would definitely pair her off with eric lmao

if you didn't bother searching btw I'm pretty sure the author whose metaphors lydia davis is dragging is khaled hosseini lol
yes, specifically and the mountains echoed!
to be clear, i haven't actually read either author myself—though i do know davis is, like, a ~writer's writer~ whereas hosseini is bestselling, with everything that implies—and it's very possible that i'd prefer davis' work to hosseini's! i just was really struck by the level of doublethink davis was displaying there: absolutely wild, imo, to say “I don’t like to knock other writers as a matter of principle” as a preface to… doing exactly that?? not that many of us aren't hypocrites, of course, but one does sort of hope a writer would be more careful and honest in their observation of human foibles, even when the foibles in question are their own. (naive of me, i know.)
i think i'm also just a little startled that goodyear (the reporter) seems to take davis' self-assessment at more or less face value, and agree that "to be curmudgeonly was not the point"? i mean, goodyear does put the moment on the page, obviously, where it can speak for itself; but later on in the article she remarks, "as a person, davis is tactful if particular," and i just. i question this characterization, tbh! i don't think someone tactful ('considerate and discreet,' says american heritage) would have gone on record picking apart the work of a living author, in a way whose coyness actually makes the assessment seem more damning, imo—as if hosseini's writing were so shocking it could only be whispered about behind one's hand. which isn't to say it mightn't in fact be that shocking, don't get me wrong! but it's just such a passive-aggressive approach to criticism, and yet, somehow, doesn't seem to register that way with goodyear (possibly because it's at least less overt naming-and-shaming than is goodyear's own style, lol! but i digress).
that said, i do want to reiterate that i don't necessarily think davis has an obligation to be tactful? i can see arguments in favor of prioritizing kindness here and i can also see arguments in favor of prioritizing truth, as i said originally; i think it's easy to hate on women, in particular, for not behaving in ways that are sufficiently conciliatory, and i hope i'm not doing that here. but i guess i just also think—if one can't be both honest and kind, it's probably better to pick one and abide by it than to, in attempting to strike a balance, fall short of quite being either.
#not sure why i keep getting SO excessively verbose abt this‚ yikes#i'm not even particularly wound up about it!#but maybe that's why‚ really—it's easy to dissect and (for me) relatively low-stakes#but like. both interviewee and interviewer here have pretty clearly led lives of significant privilege—#both davis and goodyear attended expensive new england boarding schools and then ivies—#and like. that doesn't make their commitment to literature not valuable#but when your prescriptivism leads you to pillory a first-generation immigrant#who didn't even learn english until he was 15—#it does start to feel to me a little like. aren't there‚ perhaps‚ other wielders of mixed metaphor we could pick on#to illustrate our point about usage#like. mediocre stylists are not in short supply! you can take your pick!#anyway. open 2 further input from ppl but. i think it may be time for me to stop dragging hector around the field‚ lol#bookblogging

I keep seeing the “animation is not a genre it’s a medium” post and it’s like. whoo!! hell yeah love the animation-positive energy!!! I just can’t. bring myself to reblog it yet bc the urge add my unasked for possibly incorrect opinion to the post is overwhelming cause like guys. it’s definitely not a genre yeah, that’s the wrong word, but it’s not a medium either. in animation, and just art in general ‘medium’ refers to what the art is made with, and that applies to animation too; it is not ‘made with animation’, it is animated. medium is like, paint or clay or pencil on paper or ink or collage etc etc – all of which are forms of animation. stop motion (which is more of an umbrella for moving something little by little) can be done with sooooo many different mediums! you’ve got claymation which is probably the most well known type of stop motion animation, you’ve got sandmation, pixelation, ink on glass, paint on glass, and a hell of a lot of others I don’t know the technical names for, like animating with pastels or charcoal. and also scratch/paint on film, which isn’t stop motion really, but still a really neat form of animation. there could definitely be another definition for ‘medium’ that I just couldn’t find, but as far as I can tell that’s it. in art the word medium refers to the materials a piece was made with, and ‘animation’ is not a material. tbh I’m not quite sure how animation would be classified, in one succinct word, other than just like,, “a form of art✨✨”, which is why I didn’t want to add this directly to the original post (and also I was a tad afraid this has come off slightly passive aggressive which is not my goal in the slightest I just woke up literally ten minutes ago and am not a morning person). but just, to me, referring to the whole of animation as a medium kinda sorta has the same. vibes ig. as referring to it as a genre? just like. to me specifically, I’m definitely not speaking on behalf of all animators, but calling it a medium kinda. lumps it all together? everything unique and different about the different things you can do with animation and different mediums in animation, calling it one medium sorta takes away from some of that, to me. idk man maybe I’m harping on nothing, but it just rubs me the wrong way. like I guess ‘medium’ could be a. semi-accurate descriptor if you’re only referring to one form of animation like idk. digital, but even that has so many facets that count as different forms of animation – traditional 2D, 3D, tweening and different editing techniques, to name a few. Point Is: there’s a lot that can be done with animation, using different mediums, which is kinda the beauty of it and calling it one medium kinda takes away from it, to me. “animation” is an umbrella term for making an image move, and it contains a variety of different ways you can do that, as well as other umbrella terms. I mean, you wouldn’t call “art” a medium; it refers to a whole bunch of different things, like painting or writing or photography etc etc. hell – even painting and writing are umbrella terms, referring to the different types of those things! under painting you’ve got acrylic, watercolour, oil, etc, and writing you’ve got things like prose fiction, poetry, scriptwriting, biographies, etc etc. when you’re referring to an art piece’s medium, you tend to get a bit more specific than just calling it ‘an art thing I did using materials’. this is important to me bc it’s literally my major haha. thank you for coming to my ted talk.
#just in: eepy second year animation student sees something that could possibly be slightly inaccurate about animation and starts to rant#about it#stay tuned there could be more#but like seriously if you don’t know what I’m talking about please please /please/ look up some different stopmotion techniques bc they’re#reeeaaaaaally fucking cool and deserve more recognition#this is nothing against that post I referenced at the start btw! I just have Opionukns#…#…*opinions#and I mean like#if you /don’t/ have strong opinions abt ur major then what’s even the point so-#……………maybe I can turn this into a thesis somehow: What Is Animation?

tbh, i thought it was supposed to be belittling! like it's shockwave BOTH having nostalgia for him and op and the past but also he's trying to force it against what op wants, isn't he? it's definitely uncomfortable but i personally thought that was why he was written doing it.
i think that’s a fair assessment tbh! he does definitely give off that impression. honestly what sealed the deal for me was seeing a screenshot of a couple panels in unicron when shockwave was like “orion likes to go on and on about how i changed but he’s the one who changed into optimus”
and the point shockwave was trying to make was that he was the one who “created” “optimus” but it feels so much like the “he didn’t turn out how i wanted him to so now im treating him as tho he’s still the thing i can control” that some people do to the trans people in their lives
fucking Bless prowl for shutting that shit down so passively tho like “well maybe you’re not worth listening to. anyway—” lmfaO prowl out here with no problem at all getting his exes new names right even if he doesn’t like the people they became. not with chromedome and, unless im misremembering sotw, not with tarantulas. he never tried to weaponize sentimentality, which is what i perceive shockwave as doing.
and honestly i wouldn’t really call what shockwave does uncomfortable for me since it isn’t a 1-for-1 comparison to being deadnamed (that’s just the takeaway i had from it with my personal experiences influencing my reading) it’s more like. how you side eye someone you suspect is homophobic but don’t know if they are or if they’re just ignorant of the things they say.
#asks#anon#using prowl as a comparison since he’s also got exes we see him interact with#and how those interaction differ between him and shockwave#also using prowl bc i love him ofc#biased? perhaps
