Sneak Out - Clark Lent / Superman
Clark Kent x daughter reader
Warnings: none
Word count: 686
Summary: Can you do a Superman/ Clark Kent x daughter reader, where we (the readers) sneak out of the house to go on a date with our boyfriend and when we try to sneak back in we get caught and we get grounded. And the next day after school our boyfriend sneaks in our room, and Clark comes in looks at our boyfriend, our boyfriend says "I'm in your daughters room?" Clark replies "Yeah." and chases him out the window? If not, that's okay. :) - @Anon

“Goodnigth sweetheart.” Clark smiled at his teenage daughter before shutting the door and leaving her room. He wanted to say goodnight and check on her since she had been hold up in her doing homework.
“Night dad.” Y/n smiled waiting for him to shut the door and once he did she listened to hear when he was in his room with the door shut.
Once she heard the click of his door shutting that was all she needed before sneaking out her window. As she made it out of the house and down the driveway off the family farm she met up with her boyfriend Dean in his car.
“Hey. Did he notice?” Dean smiled asking after pecking her cheek with a kiss.
“Not a clue.” Y/n shook her head smiling back at the dirty blonde boy.
And with that the teenage couple was off to the date they had planned days prior.
Once it was over Dean had reluctantly dropped her back off at the end of the driveway. Y/n got out and as she climbed back through her window, she thought that it was surprisingly easy. But she spoke to soon.
“Where have you been?” Her father sat there in her room in her lounge chair at one corner.
“Uhhh, outside?” She played dumb, even thought it’s obvious shes lieing.
“Is that a question or an answer?” Clark asked his daughter unimpressed with her antics and actions.
“Both?” Y/n squints.
“You're grounded.” He states, as he waits for a reply but Y/n stays silent Clark asks. “Not gonna disagree?”
Y/n shakes her head. “Nope. It wouldn’t change your mind right?”
“No.” Clark states sternly.
“Then I’m good.” She nodded giving him a thumbs up.
“Go to sleep.” He says before leaving to go back to bed.
Y/n sighed before getting up and changing, getting ready for bed.
^ ^ ^
“So he grounded you?” Dean asked at lunch the next day at school.
“Well he caught me re-entering the house. So yeah.” Y/n confirmed. Her father literally caught her coming back through her window, of course she got grounded.
“That sucks.” Dean let out a sympathic sigh, before wrapping her arm around her shoulders. “So I’ll see you tonight?” He smirked, mischievously.
“How? I’m grounded.” Y/n raised an eyebrow to her boyfriend in question.
“Sneak in.” Dean shrugs without a care in the world of how bad of an idea this could be.
“I don’t know.” Y/n was very unsure of his idea.
“It’ll be fine.” He says waving off her concern as they both continue to eat their lunch.
^ ^ ^
Later that night Y/m couldn’t help laughing as quietly as she could, as she watched her boyfriend struggle to climb through her window.
“Your crazy.” She stated still laughing quietly so her father hopefully wouldn’t hear them.
“For you, yeah.” Dean smiled dopely up at her as he fell to her floor with a loud thud.
“Cheesy.” Y/n smiled with red blushing cheeks.
But only seconds later they both turn their heads having heard someone clear their throat in the doorway. As they looked over and there stood Clark kent, and y/n’s father looked anything but pleased.
“Oh. I’m in Y/n’s room huh?” Dean chose to play dumb like Y/n did the night before, looking around as if he’d never seen the room before.
“Yeah.” Clark answered not impressed, although slightly amused on the inside.
Dean turns around and leave’s back through the window where he came from.
“Soooooo…” Y/n stretched out not knowing what to say.
“You know I have super hearing. Right?” Clark questioned looking at her with a mixture of confusion and amusement. With the way her eyes widened he guessed not.
“So you heard - damn why do I always forget about her hearing!” Y/n shook her head and feel back onto her mattress.
“Your still grounded.” he stated although amused by her reaction he smiled shaking his head.
“Figured.” she nodded solemnly. Not like she helped her case anyway letting a boy sneak into her room.

CONGRATS DELLA!!!! IM SO SUPER DUPER PROUD OF YOU <3
🌷 I was wondering if I could have a fluff blurb with Eddie? I struggle with anxiety and things being too much for me, so I was thinking Eddie comforting reader who is overwhelmed with school and life. Maybe a prompt could be, "c'mon...let's take a break and come back to this when we're ready."
This is usually something I do to stop my thoughts from running wild and stressing out...hopefully this is helpful, but please let me know if it's too complicated and I could totally do somethng more simple!!!
congrats again, della!!! 💘🌸🌟
Thank you 🥰🥰😚
It’s not too complicated, it’s lovely 💕(not proof read 😬)
You’ve been looking at this one page for an hour and a half, trying to sit down and get it done, but your brain didn’t seem to get the memo this was work time, not intrusive thoughts time. You think you have to be shaking with all the thoughts running around your body, a discordant orchestra of anxieties in a thunderstorm taking over your mind. You try to tell yourself you’ll be fine, it’s only one grade, your teachers like you well enough, they can be understanding. Not if they don’t like you as much as you thought they did, if this is the one time Mrs. Donner decides against partial cred—
A rapid knock in your window pulled your mind from your thoughts but the smile through the glass calmed you instantly.
“Hey sweetheart, let me in will ya? ‘S freezing out here.” You stood in front of him and pretended to contemplate it for a second, but how could you not give in to that face? It took two big pushes since the ice practically sealed it shut but as soon as there was enough space for him to get through, he ducked under and took your face in both hands. “Mornin’ sweetheart,” he mumbled against your lips and you pulled back, taking him with you since the open window was bringing in all the cold. He slid it shut and locked it then shot you a concerned look.
“Morning? Ed, it’s like 10 o’clock.”
“Baby it's 3:30, why're you still up?" He tossed himself onto your bed, still made from that morning.
"I was just–" you vaguely gestured to your desk, littered with papers. "Doesn't matter, why are you still up? Shouldn't you be home?"
"Wow, that's one way to treat a guest.”
“No–I just mean how did you get here. If it is 3, which I doubt, what are you doing here.”
"Well first of all," he picked up your alarm clock and shook it at you as much as he could with it still attached to the wall, the flashing 3:47 taunting you. "And second, I was coming home from the hideout and thought I'd take a shortcut. Then I saw your light was still on." and I was worried about you.
"Edda," it started as a joke, he always joked with you about how many times you'd call him over then immediately forget what you were going to say, so it always ended up 'Ed-uhhh' Sweetheart, you call me that so much it might as well be my name. "We're nowhere near the hideout."
"I know but I wanted to check up on you. What are you doing up?"
Your essay, fuck– your essay. "Uh, nothing, don't– don't worry about it, I'm fine. Just some school work." You rushed to sit back at your desk and started rereading to where you left off. "Don't uh– You can stay just..." you trailed off and started scribbling again. The final draft was due tomorrow and you've never turned in anything less than an 85, but that was a one off circumstance. You still had 4 hours to get it done, so close to the finish line, just this one transition sentence needs to start cooperating. If only you'd stop procrastinating... well can it really be procrastinating if it's your math set and your science lab, all due the day after but you hardly have any time at all tomorrow and, and, and...
"—Hey, you still in there, baby?" You blinked as you came back to yourself. "Hey, sweetheart." Eddie was crouched next to your seat, a hand on the back of your chair and one over your knee. He must have taken his jacket and boots off while you weren't paying attention.
"Sor–sorry, I'll uh..." you turned back to the page and reached for your pen but he reached across you for your hand before you could.
He shook his head and rubbed his thumb back and forth over the back of your hand. "C'mon," he nodded back towards your bed, "let's take a break and come back to this when we're ready."
"But it's–"
"I know what it is, and I know it's great, and I know we're gonna talk to Kelley tomorrow and figure it out." He stood up now, but leaning over you now. "Yeah?"
"Ok, but–"
"Enough with the buts, no buts. Except yours, in that bed." He smiled on one side at his own lame joke.
"That was so bad." He smiled even bigger when you stood up and let him put his arms around your waist.
"Mmm, but you love it."
"I'm not sure about that, but I love you so that'll just have to suffice."
"Suffice, it does. Your bed, m'lady."
"Thank you, kind sir." He pulled the covers down for you and gave you a look when you didn't get in. "Stay over?"
"Your dad'll kill me."
"So? You're like a cat, you've got 9 lives."
"A cat? How?"
"You're very cat like. A lil stray," you pouted and slid your hand down a curl framing his face, then lightly tugged the end. "My lil stray."
That didn't seem to convince him any further, "Stay, we have warm milk? Please?"
"Quit it with the cat jokes and I will."
"Yay!"
He slid in behind you and nudged your shoulder with his cold nose then a warm kiss. You laid in silence for a few minutes, he stopped his restless movements and when you were certain he was asleep, "meow."
He was not asleep and the way he said your name sounded like a threat to leave he'd never make good on.
"Shhh, shhh, sorry, sorry," you giggled and he laid back down beside you.
"Good night," he said with joking firmness.
"Goodnight....my kitten."
And he purred, this boy purred, freakishly realistic too.
He felt your laugh more than he heard it with the way you were pressed up against him.

Ubuyashiki Family (Magical Slayers ✨)
It’s mostly Kagaya but I mention Amane too.
Ok long story short Kagaya is mansplain manipulate manslaughter. I made him similar to Kyubey from Magica Madoka. In the sense he has good intentions, but very underhanded ways of getting people to join the Corps.
He is Entirely fed up with the (lack of) progress of the Corps. He wouldn’t call all the efforts pointless, however losing several dozen (or hundred?) Hashira and hardly killing any Upper Moons (and no signs of Muzan since Yoriichi’s era) is very much a Net Loss.
He’s tired and ready to end this war by any means necessary, even if it means forcing people into becoming slayers. (The fact this man has foresight just makes his goal a little easier and a little scarier.)
I can make an excellent example of the lengths he’s willing to go with the Tokito twins.
Kagaya did not take kindly when Amane reported that Yuichiro shut down the offer every time. He is not above lighting a fire under them to get them moving, and by fire I mean a demon sent to their house as an “incentive” to join. By showing them what they’re at risk of if they don’t join first.
We all know how it happens in canon: Yuichiro repeatedly denies Amane, weeks later the demon attacks, suddenly Amane returns days(?) later and Muichiro decides “why not” to join the Corps.
This lines up perfectly for my au :D
After the repeated rejections, Kagaya pulls some strings to stage a demon attack. It’s not really staged/fake since the demon does try to take out the twins, but it was planned by Kagaya. As an extra part of the plan, there was supposed to be another slayer to deal with that demon to ensure the twins survived. They’d be scarred, but alive and (hopefully) open to becoming Slayers.
Things didn't go as planned and the assigned Slayer doesn’t make it on time, leaving Muichiro to take things in his own hands after Yuichiro gets attacked. Yuichiro only loses a chunk of his arm, it’s still a lot but not half his arm like canon. He’s able to wrap the wound (and pass out) while Muichiro deals with the demon all night.
Kagaya and Amane actually visit them around noon the next day and happen upon them barely alive. Yuichiro is worse off than his brother and praying for Muichiro to live. Kagaya tells the boys they don’t need the aid of the gods who struck them, he himself will help, and in return they’ll do something (become slayers) for him.
(Kagaya was relieved when this worked. He may be cruel enough to do it but he doesn’t want to kill them. They wouldn’t be useful to him if that happened)
This also means Yuichiro lives.
The bright side is he doesn’t do this with every slayer I guess? He does have an interesting habit of showing up soon after demon attacks to offer the survivor a new life within the Corps. In their freshly traumatized minds all they see is a hand reaching out to help, and not knowing any better they accept.
This is a good time to mention, he is still cursed so he eventually has Amane visit the possible-slayers in his stead, bring them to the estate should they agree to join and uhhh..
Rip their soul out of their body, infuse it into a special brooch, give it back to them & point them in the direction of a cultivator.
anyway don’t worry about that part. Kagaya certainly doesn’t, and he tells the newly-made Magical Slayer not to worry either.
Who cares if you’re basically a zombie now? If your body is injured it’s fine, it’ll just take extra time and magic to regenerate. (Like,,some hours with lots of focus. Maybe just an hour or so for Hashira. Their healing abilities may be good, but they’re not ‘instant regeneration’ good like the 12 kizuki)
He actually doesn’t even tell them they’ve become a zombie. Normally the head of the Corps is supposed to lay down everything that becoming a slayer means, and then the person can make the choice to join or not. Obviously learning you’ll become a zombie is a bit of a turn-off, so Kagaya has just stopped telling his slayers the awful details.
Why do that when it’ll scare them off? It’s more beneficial for him to not say anything and keep them in the dark.
Also I’d like to mention, In canon Kagaya gives respect and gets it in return.
Here though? The Hashiras respect for him is built from fear. Everyone else is able to see, “ohh there’s something wrong with this guy. Better not piss him off.” And try their damn best not to.
Except Sanemi at his first Pillar meeting. 🪦
#kny#demon slayer#Magical Slayers ✨#kagaya ubuyashiki#the brooch is Sailor moon inspired#the zombie thing is Madoka#so is the soul yoink#I hope I didn’t lose anyone with that explanation ufhfidn if things don’t make sense feel free to ask I’ll try to answer#my bones are JELLO right now. wibbly wobbly wiggly metal sheet sfx#Amane and the kids are dragged into it#He’s ruthless in his job not to his family#still doesn’t make him a good guy#Amane has mixed feelings about her husband#they are Not the happy couple you see in canon#even if Kagaya treats his family better than the manipulation & fear he gives his Slayers..doesn’t change the fact he’s not all that great#or that he has the capacity to treat his family worse :(#Amane walks on eggshells around him#I’m sorry to do this to the girl boss#if it makes you feel better she survives when Kagaya goes Boom#because she decided Not to stay with him in the end#also I think in canon their eldest daughters die in the estate too? yea they’re living here. Kagaya takes no one else down with him#this has been marinating in my brainium for a while#I hope I didn’t hype Kagaya up too much? bc I didn’t want what I had planned for him to not meet expectations lmao#he wasn’t meeting my own expectations bc I kept making them greater & greater b4 going w/ my original idea#I feel like I’m giving a presentation#except everyone’s asleep because it’s 3am#also ik Mui was pretty open to becoming a swordsman even before the demon attack but sshhhhvjxnd let me have this#kny au

Hey! Sorry for the silence; the past couple months have been pretty busy for me. Our little Haus has been moving into a bigger apartment! The new place is much nicer, definitely safer, and we like it a lot. I’ve got my own little space for my animals and desk, we've got a patio, and for once all of our packages are actually getting delivered correctly! It’s very nice now that we’re finally out of the old place. We still have unpacking to do and new routines to settle into, but everything is going great otherwise.
Outside of moving, I’ve kind of been having a rough time emotionally. My grandma began rapidly declining in January, and though I immediately took time to drive out of state to see her in early February, I wasn’t ready for her to pass so soon after that. I’m still processing everything. She was the grandparent I spent the most the most time with growing up. She fostered my love of drawing and dragons and fantasy, so it’s safe to say I wouldn’t even be recognizable as the same person if she wasn’t in my life. I'm very sad of course, but I'm glad she was able to pass the way she wanted to. I’m hoping that remembering her gets easier as time goes on.
I’ve had a birthday in the past month as well, not a very exciting or pleasant one coming off the heels of a fresh loss and in the depths of moving hell but what can you do, really?
I’m also sick haha yaaaaay. Lots of coughing, chest congestion, and mucus that have made working hard the past week. The more severe parts of it are over now, and I just have rattling lungs and congested sinuses left. Y’all, this thing took me out for a while, not gonna lie. Definitely don’t recommend working a full day in a grocery store while wearing a binder and having chest congestion at the same time lmao. I’m taking it as easy as I can though, given that I work in an unforgiving retail environment. Most of my managers have been pretty kind about my current state, some have let me leave early on days where I’m not feeling great.
Uhhh art news… Working on a couple new isopods for my local ad, then I’ll be sharing an updated commission menu with adjusted prices! And maybe I’ll be opening up for telegram stickers? Haven’t opened for em in a while but I enjoy doing them when I get a chance! It’s uh. Kinda been a while since I’ve done any art so I’m going a little easy on myself getting started again. I need to go through my WIPs and figure out what to work on after that! I know I’ve got a lot of stuff on my infinite to-do list that I want to get around to doing.
I don’t really allow myself to splurge on a lot besides snacks, but I’ve gotten some fun pens and plan to start journaling, regularly hopefully. I don’t do a lot of traditional media stuff these days, but I feel like jotting down my thoughts about how my day went will help be build more familiarity with the tools and practice again. I have a little notebook that I’ve customized and keep in my nightstand with the thought that I’ll do little sharpie doodles in it, but I never manage to motivate myself to do it even when I remember to… Maybe journaling will help with the confidence I need to do that? We’ll see.
Anyways, thanks for bearing with me y’all! Hope you’re doing okay. As always, please feel free to email me if you have any questions about commissions. Have a good week!

Waking up alone wasn't always this painful, it used to be a comforting moment for you to collect yourself. The dreams you had would vanish and a stream of sunlight would come in through the curtains. You didn’t mind the single and lonely life you lived, it was freeing not having to worry about someone else. But, the life of being with someone else was even better. They were the other half to your person, the one that was meant for you. Waking up beside someone was another feeling entirely.
“Good morning-” Your voice was heavy with sleep, the grogginess of just awakening from a relaxing night in a warm bed still hanging off of you. You noticed the lack of heat coming from the other side of the bed, no surprise there. He was gone again.
You let out a sigh and got out of bed to head to the bathroom. It was going to be a long day of emptiness since he wasn’t here, not like he ever really was.
You got yourself ready for your workday, the agency and your inters welcomed you with open arms to a day of grueling work of saving people. You had your morning coffee, your assistant brought you breakfast the moment you sat down at your desk, everything was in order and in motion. You had patrol and in the middle of it your phone began buzzing in your back pocket, you sent it to voicemail. It wasn’t worth the trouble to be distracted, you were no longer in the honeymoon phase of your relationship so it wasn’t important anymore. It was just another weight you had to carry with you.
When you finally arrived back home, the apartment hit you with a gust of warmth. There was a large figure in your kitchen cooking away like it owned the place like nothing was wrong at all. You took off your shoes, and with no greeting, walked into the kitchen to join the figure.
“What are cooking?” The figure, your boyfriend, turned didn’t bother to spare you a look and continued to cook while he explained what he was making for the both of you.
“I know you don't really like this so I was hopin’ you wouldn’t come back soon. Imma little tired to cook something else for ya.” It was a gentle way of telling you that he wasn’t taking your own fatigue into consideration which would usually not bother you. It made sense, he was tired, just like you.
“Alright, thanks.” It came out more bitter than intended but you could care less about it. If he noticed, it wasn’t your problem anymore. You were tired of this.
“Y/n, I’m exhausted, hun. Works been tough-”
“You’re not the only one working, you know? I'm also out there working my ass off to make this world better. You aren’t special in that sense, Tai.” You walked out of the kitchen and entered the shared bedroom you woke up in that same morning. Fatgum watched you leave and quickly turned off the stove before following you.
“Babe, please-”
“No, Tai. I’m done with this. You always- uhhh!” It was frustrating to see him act like he was the only one with a difficult job, even more, frustrating when he would make you do things for him that he won’t do back.
“You’re never here in the morning, you never bother to wake me up at night to greet you home, you never clean up after yourself, and you don’t fucking listen to me. You aren’t the man I feel for, Tai. I fucking love you with every fiber of my being, I love you more than I love this job but this is just getting frustrating.” Fatgum frowns at you, the distress clear on his face as you take in a deep breath.
“I'm done with this. I can’t do this with you anymore.” The silence was deafening and the ache in your heart was greater than any hit you’ve ever taken while on patrol. Fatgum stood still as he takes in your words and watches you grab a duffle bag from under the bed. You packeted the essentials, some clothes and some items that you knew would make any place you went to a home.
“No- wait. Y/n, think this through. Hun!” He reacts. His body moved before his mind could catch up. His entire body blocked you from the open closet you had been getting clothes out of.
“Tai, move.”
“Don't do this, please.” You shook your head and grabbed whatever was in your drawers. Shirts, pants, socks, underwear, it was all quickly thrown into the bag.
“Don’t leave me! You can’t leave me!” Fatgum’s screaming broke the silence of the room.
“Goodbye, Tai.” You walked out of the apartment you shared with your ex-boyfriend for the past year. You’ll never wake up feeling abandoned, never waiting for someone to come to you, not cooking meals for two for a while. You’ll be fine, you know you will be.
Fatgum woke up in his bed, his storage of fat completely depleted after the raid at the Shie Hassaika compound. He was still recovering from his injuries but at least he wasn’t in the hospital anymore. He was alone though, he didn’t have anyone to hold him while he recovered. A nurse at the hospital offered to keep him company, sounded more like she was attempting to hit on him than be of any help, but he declined. No one would ever match you.
It was a depressing thought but you were nowhere in his life anymore. He rarely saw you when it came to work, the only time your face would be anywhere near his was when it was up in billboards or on magazines. He bought everything that had your face or likeness on it, he was always your biggest fan and that hadn’t changed even after ending things with him. He also didn’t hold your frustration against you. He knew that he was missing out on valuable “you and him” time, he understood and feared that you would one day get tired of him and just…leave. You left just like he didn’t want you to but it was done. No take-backs now. He made an effort to contact you, you didn’t care to be close to him but still bothered to check up on him. After the raid, you sent him a card and flowers as a “get well” gift. It was highly appreciated and it truly went to show how well you knew him because he told you that he liked flowers on your guy’s first date. You called him once he was back in his home, wishing him well and all the regular things that a friend would do.
“Take a break and eat as much as you can. You did suffer broken ribs so try not to move too much.” he appreciated it so much. Your voice was as sweet as ever but it broke his heart knowing that it was through a phone and not right next to him.
“I know, thank you so much, gummy.” He knew that he should let the endearing pet name die already. It was hard to, he was so used to it.
“I know you do. Take care Toyomitsu.” His last name sounded wrong in your mouth, of only he had the chance to change that.
Self-doubt began to set in during his recovery, you weren’t there to take care of him or to tell him that he was enough. You were somewhere else living your life without him. He wanted you right next to him and it was becoming unbearable to not be next to you, to not sleep next to you. Two weeks after the incident, he called you to see if you wanted to get something to eat. His left arm was still healing and was still in a sling so something simple like a lunch or dinner would have been an easy thing to do. He was excited, the idea of you agreeing meant that you were comfortable enough to see him again.
“Lunch sounds nice, where to?” He suggests the first place he took you on a date. It was this small mom-and-pop shop that made him realize that you were the one for him. You agreed to it and told him that you’ll meet him there.
He’s never felt truly self-conscious before, especially when it came to his weight. It was his quirk, after all, he needed the weight to do his job well. He grew pudgy, his stomach becoming more and more obvious the more he ate. Maybe it was because he wasn’t back in the field that he felt that eating was being neglectful of his health, who truly knew? All he understood is that the weight was obvious on him and he was beginning to doubt himself. Was his weight another reason for the breakup? Was there always a problem with him that he couldn’t see? He shook it off and grabbed the clean hoodie he had set out on his bed.
He walked quickly towards the shop but stopped before getting too close. You were standing in front of the shop with your phone in your hand, distracted and unaware of the world around you. You had a knife secured to your leg, it’s in its proper holder so it wouldn’t be a hazard to the public. If he recalled, you told him you loved making “outdated” weaponry. Knives were still useful but heroes were becoming more reliant on their quirks rather than tools. You gifted him some brass knuckles on your guy’s first anniversary but he never used them. They went against his image of the bubbly and cuddly giant. He kept it but he never showed it to anyone, it was like a private gift he didn’t want others to see. Maybe that was another reason for ending the relationship. You looked beautiful as ever and it was becoming more daunting to him, as he got closer, you had changed a lot since he last saw you. You stood taller, had greater physic, you didn’t look as stressed as you did before. You looked...fine.
He made his way over to you and greeted you with a toothy smile. You returned it but it didn’t look as honest as his. He followed you inside the little shop and you both sat at your regular booth. It was like going through the motions only with major changes that were obvious only to the two of you.
“Thank you for coming. I didn’t think you’d agree.” He chuckled. He felt his injured arm itched under the wrappings but ignored it because he felt like his heart was about to implode.
“Why wouldn’t I come? I enjoy talking to you, I always have.” It was an innocent comment to make, the people around you would never know how much it meant to the two of you.
“Really?”
“Yeah. How’s the arm?” You quickly changed the subject and focused on his injuries.
The date was nice, it wasn’t as romantic as he wished to make it but it was enough for him, he was with you and that was enough for him. He attempted to touch the hand that you had placed on the table but you quickly moved it away before he could fully hold it. You continued to deflect his questions about your life and barely made any eye contact with him. You paid for the meal even though he was the one who invited you out to eat. Why did you have to be so perfect?
“I had a nice lunch, you? Did you enjoy it?” You both walked out of the shop and noticed how dark it had gotten. You smiled up at him and quickly looked at his lips. It didn’t go unnoticed by him.
He leaned down and with his uninjured arm he pulled you towards him. His heart soared as his mouth made contact with yours, a euphoric feeling filling him as he felt you kiss him back. He quickly pulled away from you to tell you what he’s always dreamed of saying since day one.
“I want a future with you and hopefully you want one with me too.” He went back in for another kiss, one more passionate than the last but you pulled away. You removed his arm from you and placed some distance between the two of you.
“Fatgum-”
“Taishiro, please.” He begged. He hunched down to be closer to your level, his arm trying to hold you again but you moved further back.
“Taishiro, I ended things because it wasn’t good for us anymore. The honeymoon phase passed and nothing good came out of it.” You avoided looking at him but you could feel his eyes pierce into you.
“What- we loved each other! I- I tried to be home more often. I know I wasn’t perfect but I tried! Did you notice that?” Tears began to gather in his eyes and his lips shook as he tried to keep himself composed.
“I did and I told you that I wanted to be with someone who I can wake up with.” You placed your hand on his cheek and caressed it with your thumb. The tears spilled out of his eyes as you comforted him.
“I love you and that won’t change,” You pecked him on the lips, almost like sealing your guy’s fate. “But it’s over Tai. We’re done. Please move on.” You pulled away, your hand leaving his cheek and coming to a rest at your side. There was nothing left for you to say or do and it was only becoming more painful the more you stayed.
You turned and walked past the man you once called your boyfriend, nothing was needed to be done now. Fatgum on the other hand stood in place as he continued to cry in silence. The world was blurry to him so he didn’t take notice of the people staring at him as they went about their own lives. What snapped him out of his dazed was the gentle tug on his sleeve. He looked down and saw a child offering him a tissue. He accepted and thanked the child for the tissue that he disposed of in the nearby trash can.
“Are you ok, Fatgum?” He simply nodded at the child and walked away. There wasn’t a single step that he took where he wasn’t thinking about you.

Birthday
Pairings: The Avengers x reader
Summary:
It’s your birthday and the team gets creative on how to surprise you, putting their acting skills to the test.
Word count: 2,350
A/n: just a little something because,, well,, it’s my birthday *runs away* also it’s cheesy, hopefully it makes sense lmao
Warnings: uhhh brief mention of explosion? mostly fluff
The Avengers wanted to get creative for your birthday this year. For the few years they've known you they picked up on things about you. One, you paid no mind to your birthday at all and just considered it a normal day like the rest of the 365, Tony took note that you hated parties, at least the really big ones, something that involved only the team would be good.
Okay, you sound like a party pooper, but that isn't the case; it's not a crime to just... not want to have a grand celebration, right? And people singing the 'happy birthday' song to you too while you just sit there in silence. It's awkward, you once told Natasha. It’s also awkward and hard for you to receive presents even though that’s what birthdays are all about, you’re still getting used to it since you knew someone like Tony Stark.
Well, the team think you're an amazing friend and they all treat you like family. They're so glad they met someone like you.
You're immediately called to the conference room on that day. Only to find the team arguing and pointing fingers at one another.
You kinda just slot in, sitting on the chair you usually sit on whenever there's a meeting or mission briefing. Glancing around, you try and find out what they're fighting about.
Security. Suits. Brief mention of Ultron. Rhodey busying himself with phones, probably making a lot of calls. Natasha and Clint talking among themselves, only raising their voice whenever they're included in the conversation which mainly consisted of Tony and Steve arguing.
"Suit up, get the jet ready." Steve dismisses but before he could walk out himself you raise your hand.
"Hey, sorry, I just woke up," you say sheepishly but coolly at the same time. "What happened, is everyone supposed to go? Can I read the file?" Because if this is an Avengers-level threat that required everyone, you'd want to know all about it.
His sharp and expression softens slightly when he looks at you. "No file, I'm afraid. Some of the compound's security protocols have been compromised, someone hacked in." He proceeds to tell you how they particularly had interest in Bruce and Tony's lab so the other rooms were untouched.
Apparently, they took blueprints and materials, maybe a handful of Tony's suits.
But if you think about it, those two carelessly letting the security to their lab loose? Highly unlikely...
You push the thought to the back of your mind and nod when Steve tells you to get ready. Stark tech can be dangerous in the wrong hands, after all. Let alone the Iron Man suits.
Fortunately, those things have trackers. Leaving you to wonder again why those idiots don't even try and take them off so they won't tracked?
Sat on the floor of the jet while everyone was strangely quiet but once again you didn't pay any mind, you sharpen a few of your knives. Natasha sat on a stool near you, idly picking her nails. An hour into the flight you furrow your brows and look around.
"Are you guys okay?"
"Yes," Tony states quickly and a matter-of-factly. They all share glances before he continued. "It's the tension. Sorry. My fault."
"It's not your fault, Tony," Bruce starts.
"I'm sorry, to whom were those stolen suits again?" Steve speaks up as well and you could tell it's gonna be a full blown argument again.
"Now hold on just a second-" Tony faces the super soldier to counter.
You merely blink, not expecting a simple question to turn out like this. Clint just glances from the pilot's seat and Natasha almost cracks a smile by the look of your face. If only you knew it was all fake, all planned. But what does she know? You're a spy too, maybe you've figured out what they're up to and decided to play along.
Sad to say you're still oblivious. Maybe the fact that you only slept three hours last night is one case. You wanted nothing more than your bed right now.
Heck, not one of them wished you a happy birthday but you didn't notice at all.
Tuning out their bickering you sit down next to Natasha who's the only one not in the argument.
"I haven't seen Wanda all day," you say and she turns her head to face you. "Or Sam, or Bucky."
"Probably not back from their mission." Natasha answers promptly.
You frown at that. "Steve made this sound like an Avengers-level threat, and it is, shouldn't they be here?"
You don't wait for a response, opening up a globe-shaped hologram that shows where the jet, represented by a blinking dot. Your eyes slightly widen when you see the target location which is one of the places you've been dying to visit your whole life.
Maybe it's just a coincidence. You definitely didn't expect to visit it for the first time on a mission though.
Natasha clears her throat. "Hey, have you read the book I gave you?" She subtly closes the globe up when she catches your attention.
You shake your head bashfully. "You know I'm a slow reader. Give me two months then I'll come back to you." You laugh. Natasha smiles and tells you to take your time. "Have you read the book I gave you?"
"I loved it."
"I knew you would!" You say excitedly and the next few moments you discuss about the specific book. She's just glad you didn't ask any further questions about the location.
--
All of you split up once you reach the base but Rhodey and Bruce stay in the jet as backup. The place reminded you so much of the old Avengers tower, only with darker themes. You're paired with Clint who you follow to the side of the building, with surprisingly no cautiousness. He just... ran in, entrance deserted of guards.
You all had a digital, tech checklist to see what was stolen including all the suit names. So far you've searched two drawers now and still no sign of any agent or guard. But it's weird since the others are clearly doing their part on their floors. Thuds, footsteps and sometimes banging sounds could be heard all around.
“Finally," you mutter when you hear footsteps behind you, spinning around so suddenly to surprise your enemy and take him down with ease. You raise an eyebrow when they don't put up a fight at all.
Clint was in front of a computer when you peek in to one of the rooms but he waves you off. "I'll meet you on the next floor. This'll take a second."
"One suit on the roof!" you hear Steve grunt through your earpiece.
"Remember to remove the arc reactor, that'll shut them down for sure." Bruce reminds through everyone's comms.
You hear Tony let out a noise. "Might have a problem with that, Banner, they're all reprogrammed."
Expecting the man with seven Ph. D's to worry, it only took him a minute to respond back. "It's your tech. I don't believe they could do that completely especially having them for only twelve hours."
"In that case," Tony sighs. "There should be a kill switch under one of their reactors."
"Which one?" Natasha grunts.
The deafening silence from Tony's line explains it.
You fight your way though the thugs which again, don't put up a fight. Sometimes you throw one punch and they're out cold, leading you to believe the intense training Bucky insisted you do worked. The only tough ones were the Iron Man suits themselves.
Ripping out the arc reactors wasn't easy. You had to use all you force. On the second one you encounter it got the upper hand and blasts you through a wall, the impact sending sharp pain to your head and back.
You hear metal thumping of a suit so you get back up and attempt to get your hands on the Iron Man in front of you.
"Hey, hey. Same team. Look," Tony grips on your wrists and lifts his mask up. "You alright?"
“Yeah," you pant, relaxing a bit. "Yeah. One of them got m-"
"We just discovered a bomb, northwest," Clint says. By ‘we’ he means him and Natasha. The redhead speaks right after. “Two and a half minutes. How many suits left, Friday?”
"Only one more suit is fully functional."
You get out of Tony's hold and sprint up the stairs. "I got it."
He smiles to himself. The plan is all coming to place.
As soon as you enter the room you dodge a blast from the much bulkier Mark XVI. Of course they'd want to make the stealth suit more powerful. You launch yourself towards it, stomping on an arm while trying to dodge blasts from the the other one.
"Y/N! Fifty seconds!" Steve shouts in your earpiece.
You could've just jumped out, leaving the compromised suits here to be blown up but being under pressure made you panic and set your only goal to find the switch.
The suit could still set off a blast from the arc reactor so you couldn't really get your hands on it without losing a freaking arm.
"Get out of there!”
But you didn’t have enough time. So you just curl into a ball against the wall, accepting your fate.
A pop did go off. Loud, but you didn't feel yourself torn into pieces right after. You also heard a bunch of aye’s and oh’s. Redwing whirs by to your head to drop off a birthday hat.
"Happy Birthday!”
Your eyes fly open. Turns out the only thing inside Mark XVI was confetti. Natasha walks over to you to inspect and make sure you're alright.
"What the hell?" Your eyes widen at her, then at everyone. Sam and Bucky were now standing with them, smiling at you amused.
"I think she's in shock.”
“You think?”
Steve glares at Tony with a hint of amusement. "I told you it would be too much."
"Trust me she prefers something like this instead of a big party. Don't you, Y/N?"
"What do you mean?" You take off the hat and clutch it between your hands, appreciating Natasha rubbing your back as you try to collect yourself. "How is none of this real?"
"We basically faked a mission for you." Rhodey says.
You look around all the rubble. "This building, the people, suits-"
"Bought the place," Tony states. "Hired stuntmen, did a few tweaks on the suits...”
"God, why would you do that?" You bury your face in your hands, not knowing if you should be laughing or crying. "I punched those guys!"
"They'll be fine, they signed up for it."
You gently get up and brush off some confetti off your knees.
"But back at the compound... you guys were yelling at each other and during the whole thing you all sounded serious," you point out. "Was that all part of the act?"
Especially when that 'bomb' was about to go off. Steve's panicked voice made you scared for your life, only to know that it was all fake.
They all show signs of agreement, laughing.
"We'd make such great actors." Natasha smirks.
"Alright, the cake isn't going to blow itself." Clint walks up to you with said cake and you meet him halfway.
Everyone gathers around and before they could inhale to sing the stupid song, you cut them off. "You all know I hate to be sung at. Can we just get this over with?"
They all burst out laughing, you giggle in the process, blowing out your candle. You all group hug right after. The laughter makes you miss the sound of faint thunder outside.
"Look who's late." Bruce points out.
"Yes, I got here as soon as I can, my apologies." Thor smiles sheepishly.
Your ears perk up at the all too familiar voice of the god of thunder. Moving everyone of the way, you leap to hug him. "Thor!"
"Happy birthday, dearest Y/N." He grins and pats you on the head. "I'm afraid my - I mean - our gift, is with Loki at the moment."
"Enough with the formality, I’m just glad you’re here.”
Peter rings up Tony to tell him everything's set up at the huge building they rented for your low-key party. Just the Avengers. Peter, Vision and Wanda were in charge of setting things up over there, from decorations and food. Sam and Bucky also helped a bit before they arrived at the fake base.
So you all get into the jet again, this time you look at the windows in awe to see what the city's like. You also asked a bunch of questions on how they pulled something stupid but unique fake mission like that.
Once you've reached your destination, the place was simple yet big enough to fit everyone. Tony really took notes for this year. You didn't like anything too fancy or elegant, and you didn't like huge-ass parties with hundreds of people you've never met before.
Here you're with your family eating, drinking booze and playing games, generally having a good time.
You give the other five Avengers big hugs. Vision's never usually a hugger but for you he made an exception just for today. Everyone was surprised when he lifted you off your feet and spun you around.
"Hugging has a lot of good benefits," Vision says when he lets you go. "Astounding, I know. It is recommended eight times a day, hopefully you've already gotten that much."
You giggle at his remark and Wanda rolls her eyes playfully. “Thank you, Vision.”
“Splendid, that means I don’t have to give you one.”
You turn around to see the god of mischief himself carefully hand you a wrapped box. Loki chuckles when you smile at him. “Happiest Birthday.”
“Loki.... you know you and Thor didn’t have to-”
“Thor? That one’s from me. I assure you.”
“Y/N!” You hear Tony call from the other side of the room. “It’s time for presents, little miss. Good lord this looks like Christmas morning.”

The Greatest Healing Therapy Is Friendship (And Love) (Tobin Heath x Reader)
Leaving physical therapy one day, Tobin Heath becomes enthralled with the sound of a nearby voice, which inevitably leads her to you, a patient with a bad heart, and a kind smile.
Tobin Heath was far from happy.
Injuries happened from time to time, but being benched for 10-12 weeks, for not only a number of Manchester United games, but the She Believe’s Cup as well put Tobin in an incredibly foul mood, a rain cloud hanging over her head.
She stops midstride when she hears someone barking out a laugh, the sound making her head turn back and forth in search of its source.
“Listen, you and I both know this food is shit.”
Tobin’s brows arch as she peeks into a nearby room. She wasn’t the type to intrude, but for some reason she felt pulled forward by the voice.
Tobin watches a crinkle form between your brows as you turn her way, though moments later a smile stretches across your face.
“Look there, let’s get a second opinion.” You grin, nodding to Tobin.
“So stranger, this food sucks, right? I mean, don’t even get me started on the Jello...”
Tobin clears her throat, shaking her head.
“I-I haven’t had it.”
You sigh, your head hanging in defeat.
“Sorry to say stranger, but you’ve let me down.” You frown, your head lolling towards the nurse.
“The food’s still shit.”
The nurse rolls her eyes, but she can't deter the smile that stretches across her face.
“You still have to eat Y/N.”
The nurse shakes her head as she leaves the room.
You whine.
“Ey! Can I get some Popeyes? Taco Bell?”
“No!” You hear the nurse shout and you groan, your hand resting on your chest.
You turn to Tobin with an arched brow.
“I’m not sure if we’ve ever met stranger, I’m Y/N.”
Tobin steps towards the bed with a smile, her eyes darting from the multiple machines around you to the wires that lead down the front of your hospital gown.
“Mind the attire.” You chuckle and Tobin smiles.
“I’m Tobin.” She whispers, nodding to the machines.
“What happened?” She asks curiously and you sigh.
“Heart attack, I know, I know, how can someone as young and good looking as me have a heart attack?” You smirk, the woman unable to bite back a grin.
“I didn't know heart disease was hereditary until I ended up in the hospital because of it.” You sigh tiredly.
After a lengthy yawn, you turn to Tobin.
“So, Tobin, what is the purpose of your visit?” You ask and she shrugs.
“Just had to see who was going so hard at the nurse.” She smiles and you snort.
“Eh, I’ve been here for a while, they’re used to it by now.” You shrug, your eyelids fluttering.
“Well Tobin, it was nice meeting you, feel free to drop by next time you’re in, I’ll probably be here.” You sigh, unable to fight off sleep.
Tobin smiles, her brown orbs on you as you slowly drift off.
Tobin’s smile splits into a grin.
“Nice meeting you too, Y/N. I might take you up on that.”
***
It’s a day or two later that Tobin finds herself limping down the same hallway, the woman coming to a stop in front of a particular patient’s door.
She slowly pushes the door open, poking her head inside.
“Anybody home?” She asks as she knocks on the door, the woman receiving no response.
Tobin frowns.
She’d hoped to see you after a tough day of physical therapy, but unfortunately, it looked as if that wasn’t going to happen.
“I see you took me up on my offer.”
Tobin turns around, smiling when she sees you being wheeled towards her by the nurse from the other day, a massive grin on your face.
“I was in the neighborhood.” Tobin shrugs and you chuckle.
“Boot looks good on you.” You wink and Tobin snorts.
“Sure, it does.”
You nod towards the door.
“Let me get hooked back up and then you can come in, I’m pretty sure we’re not to the point where you’re okay with seeing me naked.” You snort, Tobin’s eyes widening as her cheeks flush.
“Ye-Ye-Yeah.”
You lean your head back.
“Ready driver?”
The nurse rolls her eyes, unable to hold back a giggle.
“To get you out of my hair?”
You pout, your hand resting on your chest.
“You wound me so.”
Tobin shakes her head, the woman leaning against a nearby wall as she waits for you to get dressed.
Moments later the door is swinging open, the nurse from before making her way out with a smile.
“She’s decent.”
Tobin pushes off the wall before making her way into your room, the woman smiling when she sees you.
You give her a wave.
“Haven’t seen you in agessssssssss!” You snicker and Tobin rolls her eyes, pulling a nearby chair to the side of your bed before flopping down into it.
“What’s your damage anyway?” You ask and Tobin nods to her boot.
“Ankle.”
You grimace.
“How’d you do that?”
“Playing soccer.”
You hum.
Tobin nods to you.
“How’d...” Tobin points to your chest and you sigh.
“I was jogging. My chest got really tight and I went down like a sack of potatoes.” You shrug.
“I woke up with a tube down my throat and an incision down my chest.”
Tobin frowns, glancing around the room, her frown deepening when she realizes there’s no balloons, or even a get well soon card.
You sigh, your eyelids fluttering.
“Do you have any family?” She asks, the words surprising her immensely.
Your brow arches.
“Pretty personal question Tobes-
“I’m sorry I-
“I’m kidding, no, I don’t.”
Tobin nods.
“I’m sorry.”
You smirk.
“Hey, I don’t need visitors, not when I have you.” You grin, not even opening your eyes, meaning you miss the flush on Tobin’s cheeks.
You murmur, doing your best to fight off sleep, but you find it impossible.
Tobin smiles.
“Sleep Y/N, we’ll talk another day.”
You smile tiredly.
“I like the sound of that.”
***
The next time Tobin enters your room, she’s carrying not only a balloon, but a teddy bear, as well as a get well soon card.
Her lips part, the woman about to greet you, but when she realizes you’re fast asleep her mouth snaps shut.
Instead of tip toing out of the room, she places your gifts on a nearby table and takes up residence in a nearby chair.
Lately, Tobin found herself excited to come to physical therapy, because coming to the hospital meant seeing you.
Seeing you had become the best part of her week, so much so that sitting on the sidelines and watching the others play at the She Believe's Cup hadn’t been bothering her as much as it typically would be.
Tobin pulls her legs up into the chair, wrapping her arms around them, her knees hugged to her chest.
She was exhausted, the colder the nights got, the worse her foot cramped, meaning she got little to no sleep more often than not.
Soon, Tobin finds her own eyelids fluttering, the woman fighting off sleep, though she loses the fight rather quickly, exhaustion overwhelming her as she falls fast asleep.
***
A soft, yet noticeable snoring is what wakes you sometime later, your brows furrowing as your eyes crack open.
You hum, wiping the sleep from your eyes as you turn towards the source of the snoring.
A smile stretches across your face when you realize the snoring is coming from Tobin, the woman fast asleep in the chair beside your bed.
You grin when out of the corner of your eye you spot a bright balloon, the air-filled rubber bouncing slightly with the air condition’s aid.
You shake your head when your eyes find the teddy bear resting just below the balloon.
Tobin grimaces as she wakes, the woman stretching her arms above her head with a groan.
“Morning.” You smile, your eyes still locked onto the tiny toy resting on the nearby table.
Tobin quickly realizes you’re staring at the plush bear and smiles.
“Do you like it?” She asks with a yawn and you nod, turning towards her, your eyes glazed over.
“Yeah, yeah I really do.”
Tobin grimaces, the woman rubbing her booted foot.
“I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” She blushes and you shake your head.
“I just woke up anyway, thanks to your snoring.”
Tobin scoffs.
“I do not snore.”
You snort.
“Then what were you doing, gargling your spit?”
Tobin’s eyes narrow, the woman giving your arm a playful shove.
“Shut up.”
You laugh, a belly shaking laugh that makes your chest ache, your hand immediately jumping to your chest.
Tobin springs to her feet, the woman ducking down beside you.
“Are you alright?” She asks as she places a hand on your back, the feel of her palm on your bare back making you blush.
“Ye-Yeah, just some chest pains.”
Tobin worriedly glances over her shoulder.
“Should I get a nurse?”
You shake your head, giving Tobin a small smile.
“It’ll pass.”
Tobin pulls her chair closer to your bedside and sits down, her hand still resting on your bare shoulder.
The pain eventually passes, though the flush on your cheeks doesn’t fade considering Tobin’s palm is still flat on your back, her thumb running back and forth across your tanned flesh.
You sigh, smiling when Tobin gently guides you back, your head hitting the soft pillow behind your head.
“You should rest.” She whispers, the woman tucking a strand of loose hair behind your ear.
You hum.
“Not yet, you’re here.”
Tobin smiles.
“I can always come back.”
You hum, the corner of your mouth ticking downwards slightly.
“You know, I’ll be getting out of here eventually, hopefully soon.”
Tobin nods, silently, the last thing she wanted to do was lose contact with you, especially when seeing you had made her heart skip a beat and her palms sweat with nerves.
She knew what she felt for you was more than friendship, and the thought of losing you made her stomach churn.
“I uhhh, I live here, in Portland you know...? Do-Do you live here? In P-Portland I mean...” You wiggle nervously, unable to look at the woman beside you.
Tobin bites her bottom lip hard to stave off a grin, the flush on your cheeks making her heart flutter in her chest.
She hoped, hoped maybe what she felt for you was returned, and by the way you were currently acting, it seemed it was.
“It almost sounds like you want to see me after you leave the hospital...” She grins and your eyes widen.
“Uhh... I-I mean...”
Your typical humor and cockiness fell away in that moment as you stuttered, unable to find the words you were searching for.
Your cheeks flush darker and darker as you stumble over your words, only saved when Tobin takes your hand, and gives it a squeeze.
You fall silent, your wide eyes dropping down to your joined hands before your eyes eventually meet Tobin’s.
She gives your hand a squeeze, her smile splitting into a bright grin that makes her brown orbs shine.
“I think I’d like to see you after too.”
Tobin laughs as she visibly watches your eyes lighten up.
“R-Really?” You stutter and she nods.
“Really.”
***
Tobin walked through the hospital with a bit of pep in her step, the knowledge that you possibly felt the same way about her as she felt about you made her incredibly hopeful for the future.
She makes her way into your room with a smile, expecting to see you waiting for her, she’s taken aback though when she finds an empty bed.
Her brows furrow, her eyes zeroing in on the teddy bear and the get well soon balloon she’d brought you days before.
She turns, making her way out of the room, her head on a swivel in search of the nurse she’d seen in your room so often.
“She didn’t make it?”
Tobin stiffens, a lump forming in her throat.
“She’d been complaining of chest pains, she had a second heart attack this morning, we couldn’t revive her.”
Tears welled up in Tobin’s eyes, the woman dropping to her knees in the middle of the hospital’s hallway.
You couldn’t be gone, you just couldn’t be, not after everything, not after being through so much, you couldn’t be gone.
“Tobin, are you alright?”
Tobin picks her head up, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looks up at the nurse who’d tended to you each and every day.
“She can’t be gone; she just can’t be.” Tobin sniffs, brown orbs filled with tears as she stares at the nurse who’s brows furrow.
“What are you-
“Tobin!? Tobin are you okay!?”
Tobin stiffens, her head snapping up in search of your all too familiar voice.
Teary brown orbs zero in on you, you who are currently jumping out of your wheelchair and running down the hall towards her, gown long gone, your new clothes clinging to your form.
You drop to your knees in front of her and cup her cheeks, your thumbs wiping away the tears covering her face.
“Hey, hey what’s wrong? Are you okay? What happened???” You ask, your eyes darting worriedly around her face.
Tobin simply stares at you for a moment, her shaky, clammy hands moving to cover your own.
“Your room was empty, a-a-and the nurses said they lost someone... I thought...”
You blink, your eyes widening when you realize what Tobin had thought.
You shake your head, attempting to swallow the lump in your throat as you lean in, your forehead resting against hers.
“It wasn’t me, I’m okay.” You whisper, your eyes fluttering shut.
Unconsciously, Tobin’s hand leaves yours, instead moving towards your chest.
Your eyes widen, your cheeks flushing as her hand meets your chest, the woman sighing in relief at the feel of your heart, beating beneath her palm.
Your hand leaves her cheek, moving to cover hers that’s currently resting on your chest.
“I’m okay.” You repeat, your heart skipping a beat when Tobin’s fingers slip between your own.
Tobin takes a deep breath in an attempt to calm her racing heart, but considering the proximity between the two of you, it’s a bit hard.
Tobin’s teary brown orbs drop to your lips before again locking with your Y/E/C’s,
Your eyes widen when you realize Tobin’s leaning in, the woman’s nose lightly grazing your own.
A chill runs through you, your eyes fluttering shut in anticipation as Tobin’s lips brush yours, the kiss unlike any kiss you’d had before.
You bring your free hand up to her cheek, your thumb caressing her tanned flesh.
The two of you part only to lean right back in seconds later, unable to get enough of the feel of your lips against one another’s.
You tilt your head to the side, changing the angle of the kiss as your lips meet again and again, something you’d been craving since the moment you woke to find her sleeping at your bedside.
Again, you part, though neither of you pull away, Tobin leaning back in to rest her forehead against your own.
Brown orbs flutter open as a red flush dances across Tobin’s cheeks, the woman unable to bite back a grin.
“And now?” Tobin whispers, your brows furrowing in question.
“How do you feel now?” She asks in a whisper and you chuckle.
“A lot more than okay.”

Ch. Seventeen
⚠WARNING: Swearing
• ────── ✾ ────── •
For five days Osamu ignores you. Your texts go unanswered, calls are sent to voicemails, meet ups at the café are now solo trips.
You’re beyond upset at this point. If this is his way of needing space, that’s fine. You’d be okay with giving him space - you just need to know if he wants space. Having this awful radio silence between you is driving you mad. What if he’s sick? What if he needs to go to the hospital? He lives alone and his family isn’t close, and he hasn’t mentioned other friends to you before. You’ve talked plenty about Oikawa, Mattsun and Makki - surely he would’ve offered up stories about his friends if he had them, no?
But you also worry that you’ve done something to really offend him. He’s a pretty laid back guy (all things considered) so you must have really pissed him off if he’s resorting to ignoring all forms of communication.
You just need to know. Even if it will be the end of your friendship (something your brain isn’t ready to comprehend, thank you very much) you have to know why Osamu doesn’t want to talk to you.
So you’ve changed plans. You decide to skip afternoon classes and set up camp at the cafe. You knew he visited the cafe at least once a day, and you thought that maybe he was coming at different times to avoid you but you weren’t gonna let that happen so you would change your schedule and ambush him.
It was literally the only idea you could think of and at this point you were desperate.
“Jasmine tea, right?” The barista greets you when you step up to the register.
“Yes please,” you answer, reaching to grab your wallet from your bag.
“Hey, I haven’t seen that one guy who you’d been studying with in awhile. He used to come all the time.” The barista sets down your tea and types at the register. “What was his name, Osamu?”
You nod, trying to swallow your disappointment and pass over money to pay. If the employees here haven’t noticed Osamu coming in then maybe he is sick. And the odds of you coming across him here are slim to none.
You thank the barista and grab a table in a different spot of the cafe. The whole point of this is to change up your routine and try to see if Osamu will stop by. The last thing you want is for him to walk in, see you sitting at the table, and leave. You sit at your table, pull out your notebooks and get settled. Hopefully you can get some studying done while waiting.
A faint bell to indicate a new person coming in rings, and you nearly snap your neck to look in the direction of the front door. But it’s a young woman talking on her cell phone who walks in, not Osamu. You sigh to yourself and open your books.
~~~
The front door bell rings again, and like before you quickly look up. To your dismay, a group of three guys probably close to your age walk into the café and make their way to the register.
You’ve been at the café for 45 minutes and this time it’s the 10th time you’ve been tricked by someone walking in. You feel yourself wilt and look back down at your books, ignoring the stinging in your eyes. This is pointless.
“We’ve checked the campus all morning, and Shin combed the library top to bottom.”
The group of guys waiting in line are standing close enough to your new table that you can just hear what they’re saying. You don’t really eavesdrop on people, but it’s hard when they’re not really trying to keep quiet. And you had given up on your homework ages ago, so you just sit staring at the table while listening to the three friends talk.
“We know that he’s studying here. We should just go up to the registrar’s office and find out where he’s taking classes.” A second voice speaks up.
“Yeah, and how is that going to work?” The first guy was speaking again. “We’re going to waltz onto a campus of a school we don’t go to and what, ask nicely if they can tell us where our friend is? We’ll get the cops called on us for sure.”
“Enough.” The third friend spoke, and you didn’t have to look to know that his voice commanded an air of respect. “We’re here for a few more days, we cannot argue amongst ourselves.”
“Kita, it’s a big campus in a big city. It’s gonna take more than a miracle to find him.”
You look up and around the café, and you can’t help but let your eyes wander to the three guys who’s conversation you had overheard. The shorter friend takes his coffee from the barista with a nod and moves towards the sugar and creamer station. “Him ignoring our phone calls is making things difficult.” The guy paused again to pour sugar into his coffee. “But it’s his mother’s birthday soon, and I know she would like him to be home for it.” You look away to gaze outside but continue to listen (eavesdrop) to them. You can’t help but think that the shortest guy’s accent sounds very familiar to you.
“To hell with the birthday.” The second guy speaks again, sounding agitated. Osamu should be home with us, not holed up in this city alone.”
Your head snaps in their direction again. The shorter man with black and white hair is nearly dwarfed by two other men, one dark-skinned and the other with dark hair parted down the center. The shorter man and dark-skinned man are busy making their coffees but the one with dark, parted hair catches your movement. You stare at each other, him having no problem holding your gaze. You watch him pull his phone out of his pocket, tap at the screen (without looking away) and bring the phone up. A quick flash and you realize that this stranger has taken your photograph.
What the hell?!
You start, not expecting the action and look back down abashed. This is what you get for eavesdropping, you dummy. You chance a quick glance and see the shorter man giving the photog a stern look. You look away again but you can’t shut your ears off as you hear them speak again.
“Delete that photo right now Suna.”
“But she was looking right at me!”
“Delete it.”
Footsteps approaching your table make you look up again and your pulse quickens when you realize the shorter man is approaching you. Behind him the dark-skinned man is scolding the other friend, both looking cross with each other. But you can’t focus on them as the short man has finally arrived at your table. To your massive surprise he bows in front of you.
“I sincerely apologize for my friend. I assure you that he deleted the photo he took and he will not be doing anything like that again.”
Hearing his voice you can definitely pick up the same accent Osamu has. His eyes are gentle and kind and he does look remorseful for his friend’s actions. “Uhhh, no worries.” You stammer out, still dazed by everything that is happening.
Before you can think to voice your confusion out loud the man bows again and takes his leave. He doesn’t get a few feet from your table before you're blurting out.
“I heard you talking about Osamu.”
The two friends hear you (as did everyone in the cafe) but they immediately make their way to your table. The dark-skinned man is looking at you with surprise but it’s the other friend’s face who catches you by surprise. He stomps over and leans down to your eye level.
“Where is he?” You’re taken aback by the ferociousness in his voice, and the frantic frazzled look in his eyes. The shorter man steps back to the table and rests a hand on his friend’s shoulder.
“We’re friends of Osamu from back home, and we’re having trouble finding him. Are you a friend of his?”
“Uh, yes. Well, I think so.” You weren’t sure of your status now after he’s been ignoring your calls and messages.
“Well which is it?” The other man asks aggressively. You don’t get a chance to answer as you all hear the café door open and you turn to look at the newcomer.
Your heart flutters when you see Osamu walk through the door. It’s the first time you’ve seen him since realizing that you like him more than a friend, and besides relief at seeing him in person after he’s been ignoring you, you feel comfort at seeing him.
You meet his gaze and watch him stop in his steps when he sees you. His eyes widen slightly in surprise, but it’s nothing compared to the look on his face when he takes in the full scene. Your heart twists when he pales, and before you can call out to him he takes off.
“Shit!” The man who took your photo takes off, expertly weaving through the small crowd in the café and following Osamu out the door. The second tall man chases after them a second later, having a bit more trouble getting through the other patrons.
The third, shortest friend remains, and you hear him heave a sigh. After a beat he speaks up. “May I join you?”
You start but not immediately. He doesn’t waste time in sitting down in the chair next to yours. Only when he gets situated do you realize what you’ve done - you’re letting someone who supposedly knows Osamu sit with you, someone that makes Osamu look like he’s seen a ghost and run away as fast as he can.
What if this man is dangerous? Did you just endanger Osamu’s life?
“We’re not here to hurt Osamu.” Your companion at your table speaks up. You have no idea how he was able to read your mind, and you feel even more suspicious. “My name is Kita Shinsuke - the one who took your photo is Suna Rintarou, and our other friend is Aran Ojiro. We’re friends of Osamu’s from Hyogo.”
You nod at his introduction, but you’re not buying it. Saying outright that you’re not going to hurt someone is exactly what someone who wants to hurt someone else would say.
Kita must sense your hesitation again and he reaches into his pocket. He pulls out his phone, taps the screen and sets it on the table facing you. He nudges it in your direction, and you cautiously pick it up. What you see on the screen nearly makes you drop the phone in surprise.
It’s a group of guys - you immediately recognize this Kita person with his black and white hair, as well as Suna and Aran. You also see Osamu, giving the camera a lazy smile.
And his exact replica, standing next to him with a wider, cockier smile.
His twin.
Besides the initial shock of seeing a picture of Osamu’s twin, you see Osamu looking happy. He’s got his small smirk you’ve only seen a few times, and even then it pales in comparison to the smile he’s wearing in the photo. It’s such a stark difference to the cold, apathetic Osamu you know now that your heart can’t help but twist.
You hand the phone back to Kita silently. He takes it and puts it away.
“How long have you been friends with Osamu?” He asks.
You swallow. “A few weeks.”
Kita nods. “And do you know about Atsumu?”
“Is that his twin?” Kita nods at your question. “Then yes, that’s how we became friends, kind of.”
Kita gives you a confused look (his expression barely changes but you can just detect it.) You clear your throat. “I lost my best friend a few months ago. We realized we both had something in common and we’ve been able to talk about it with each other.”
Surprise flickers across his face before a serious, somber look takes its place. “I’m sorry for your loss.”
“Thank you,” you reply automatically. You appreciate his gesture, and you’ve been handling these kinds of interactions with general strangers for months. If, for some godforsaken reason, the passing of Hajime comes up in conversation everyone immediately offers their condolences, you thank them, and then the conversation continues. You’ve long been able to push aside the wave of grief that comes with the briefest of mentions of his passing. You understand that sometimes the stranger you were talking with doesn’t really mean the words they’re saying.
But with this Kita Shinsuke, you feel the sincerity behind it. It only comes from someone who can understand what you’re going through because they’ve gone through it themselves.
“Can I ask how much you know about Osamu and Atsumu?” Kita asks.
You struggle to find an adequate answer, embarrassed by your lack of knowledge about Osamu’s past. He always seemed uncomfortable talking about Atsumu, and you never wanted to push him. Gosh, can you really say you have deep feelings for him when you don’t even know how to answer this simple question?
“I know he came to Sendai for school.” You answer carefully, putting your insecurities away for now. “I think he wanted to get out of Hyogo.”
Kita’s response is a hum. It’s thoughtful, and you can see gears turning behind his head. You wait for him to reply, unsure of what else to say.
“Osamu definitely wanted to get out of Hyogo, and he did come here to attend Sendai University.” Kita confirms. “But what you may not know is that he vanished from Hyogo, without a trace save for the letter he left for his parents to never call him again.”
Kita’s brief explanation feels anything but that. It shocks you to your core, freezing your lungs. Any reply you would have had to it was wiped clean, and you really can’t do anything but sit and stare.
Kita nods. His features soften, and you now see a hint of sadness in his eyes. “I understand his actions. I cannot imagine living in a place with constant painful reminders of his loss.
“But he didn’t give any hint of wanting to leave. He never told anyone his plan. One day we woke up and he was just gone. His parents are heartbroken. They had already lost one son, and now another that leaves no open channel of communication, no desire for any of us to reach him. To them, it feels like they’ve lost both sons.
Your heart clenches painfully. You know Kita isn’t accusing Osamu of anything - you can’t hear any blame in his voice. But you can’t help but feel the need to defend your friend for his actions that are, frankly, self-serving.
Kita goes on. “Aran, Suna and myself have an old schoolmate, one of Osamu’s old friends as well. He recently reached out to tell us that his cousin thought he recognized Osamu here at this campus when he came to play Sendai University’s mens’ basketball team. It was pure dumb luck, and honestly not even a hint of a confirmed lead, but we got a chance to find Osamu. We arrived two days ago and have spent all of our time searching every corner of the campus looking for him.”
You still can’t get over the new information you’ve learned about Osamu. Leaving his small town and the only people he knows with no plans on returning. You can’t help but remember little bits of information gleaned from your conversations with Osamu.
He moved to a new city and got a new phone and new phone number. He doesn’t have any friends or family here in Sendai. How unwilling he was to find a therapist and seek help for unhealthy coping mechanisms.
Now with the added information of knowing Osamu left home without a trace, you’re left with a revelation that sends you reeling.
He’s running away.
Osamu is trying to run away from the trauma of losing his brother. He’s doing his very best to shake off any trace of his past and reinvent himself in a new city. Zero contact with friends or family and no support to help him work through a disturbing life event that shouldn’t happen to anyone. And he’s shoving it all down.
Why? Why in the world would anyone want to do that to themselves? And is this what he’s been doing to you now? Running away from you?
A ringing disrupts your disturbing thoughts and you watch Kita bring his phone up to his ear. “Hello?” Whoever is on the other line must tell him some disappointing news because Kita’s face falls again. “Ok, I’ll meet you at the hotel.” He hands up the phone and sighs.
“Aran and Suna lost Osamu. Not surprisingly, since Osamu was always quick, and he knows the area better than we do.” He stands. “I will leave you to your studying. May I borrow a slip of paper and a pen?”
You wordlessly hand over a scrap piece of paper and pen, letting Kita bend down to write on the table. He hands the items back to you and straightens up. You look at the paper and see his full name and phone number written down.
“You have no obligation to, but if Osamu reaches out to you will you please let me know?”
You think of the messages you’ve sent him and the calls you’ve made - all unanswered. But you can’t bring yourself to tell that to Kita now. “I’ll try my best.”
“I greatly appreciate it.” Kita bows and makes to leave. But he hesitates and looks back at you. “We’re not here to drag him back to Hyogo against his will. If he wants to stay here in Sendai he can, he’s an adult. I just want him to know that he has people that care about him, people that miss him.”
You watch Kita pause, standing still. He swallows hard and you see his hands ball into fists. Watching Kita compose himself somehow hurts you the most in this entire interaction you’ve had with him.
When he speaks, his voice is strained. “I don’t think he knows that. I think he believes that he’s truly alone.”
Kita nods and takes his leave, leaving you sitting alone at your table in the café.
A/N: Enter the Hyogo friends! But Osamu doesn't seem too happy to see them....are we gonna find out why? Also a sad Kita is literally the worst thing in the world and it makes me not okay! :')
The Demon Brothers + College AU + (Cliche?) First Meetings
So an anon sent me the above ask, and it may have gotten a little out of hand ;;;
I also kind of switched it up and made it college instead. Hopefully the meetings I came up with are still somewhat cliche! Or, at the very least, cute lol
Lucifer:
You’re running late for class on the first day of the semester and he holds the elevator door open for you when he sees the desperate look on your face, and how you’re making a dash for the closing doors.
“Thank you,” you breathe out as you try to get ahold of yourself, hoping that the tall, handsome male beside you doesn’t see or hear the way you’re struggling for air. (It’s 8am, okay? Your body isn’t ready to be running so early.)
“Which floor do you need?” he asks, smiling politely. You respond “four”, and he hums to himself while hitting the button.
When he doesn’t press a different button, you assume he’s heading to the same floor.
“Thanks, by the way,” you say, flashing him a small smile. “You really saved my ass.”
“No thanks needed,” he responds, gaze shifting to look at the small screen above the door. The second floor moves past with a quiet beep. Silence falls for a couple of seconds.
“May I ask what class you’re heading to?”
“Ah, it’s a psychology lab,” you respond, laughing to yourself after a beat. You pull your phone from your pocket, trying to find the screenshot you’d taken of your schedule. “I signed up for this one because Rate My Professor said the TA is hot.”
“Oh? Is that so?” You’re not paying attention, so you don’t see the smirk that tugs at his lips.
The next moment, the elevator stops and the two of you step out together. You exit first, flashing the male one last smile before you turn your attention to your phone, double checking the room number. Lucifer brushes past you without saying a word, and you don’t realize that you’re headed in the same direction until you glance up, and find him holding the classroom door open for you.
“After you,” he says, and while you’re confused, you dip your head in thanks and make your way in. Since you’re one of the last ones in the classroom, you get stuck sitting in the front row.
As you unpack your things, Lucifer steps to the head of the room and sets his computer bag down onto the desk.
“Good morning, class,” he says, his gaze shifting to you when you look up and see that it’s him who is speaking--a vibrant blush rising to your face as you recall what you’d told him in the elevator.
“My name is Lucifer, and I will be the TA for this lab.”
Mammon:
You’re in the large, open eating area at the campus student union when he bumps into you.
Instantly, the greasy, cheesy pizza on your tray jumps up and lands on the front of your shirt. You freeze in shock, wide eyes glancing down as the personal pizza slides down your chest before flopping back onto the tray.
“Oi, watch where you’re going,” a voice says behind you, and you slowly turn around to face the apparently dumbass man who doesn’t even have the sensibility to apologize to you.
Despite that fact that he sounds pompous, you can’t deny that his styled white hair, and pierced ears are kind of charming.
“You backed into me,” you tell him, attempting to keep your calm. You almost lose it when you see his eyes rake down to your chest, staring at the likely un-washable stain on the fabric. He stares much too long, and you’re just about to curse at him when he speaks up again.
“Uhhh...,” he raises a hand to sheepishly rub at his neck, and when you look closely, you see that a blush has spread across his face. “Y-ya know what, maybe it is my fault...can I, um, buy ya another pizza?”
You blink, surprised at the sudden turn around in his attitude.
“That would be nice,” you say honestly, and suddenly he’s smiling, hopping back into the pizza line, which is right beside where the two of you had collided.
“I-If ya want, I’ll lend you my jacket because of, ya know, your shirt,” he says, motioning to your obviously ruined top. You cock an eyebrow at him.
“You’d give a stranger your jacket?”
“Well...I’m kind of hoping that you’ll have lunch with me, and we won’t be strangers for long,” he mumbles, gaze shying away. “Or, ya know, that I can get your number at least.”
“You’re really pushing it,” you tell him with a laugh, and you can see his feathers ruffle. He’s obviously embarrassed at you calling out his flirting. “But...maybe we can eat lunch together. Since you’re paying.”
He blinks, shocked at your words, but soon breaks into a smile. Self-satisfied, he continues grinning stupidly even as the cashier calls him up. However, when he pulls out his wallet, swipes his card, and it comes back denied...
“Uhh...can you pay this time? I PROMISE I’ll pay you back.”
You sigh, and debate throttling him.
Levi:
You sit next to him in a lecture hall, and can’t help but notice that the background on his laptop is Sailor Moon.
When you reach down to dig a notebook out of your bag, you also see the number of anime and video game pins decorating the front of his backpack.
While you don’t tend to talk to strangers, you can’t help but say something.
“Hey, um,” you start, catching his attention. He freezes, amber eyes shifting to look at you--wide with surprise. You smile, doing your best to come off as casual, and friendly. “I noticed all the pins on your backpack. Do you like anime? I started watching Demon Slayer the other week, and I’m in love with it.”
“I...you...,” his surprise shifts to wonder as he regards you. The slightest blush rises on his cheeks. “You watch anime???”
“Yeah,” you laugh. “Is that so weird?”
“N-no, I guess not,” he mumbles, his hands fiddling with the cuffs of his hoodie. You wonder if you’ve made a mistake by talking to him, since he seems so shy--
“Do you play video games too??” he breaks you out of your thoughts as he scoots forward, eyes sparkling. He’s whispering hurriedly, eyes briefly straying to glance at the time on his laptop. “I recently started playing Doki Doki Literature club, and it’s crazy. I love RPG games, and Indie games too--like IB, and Mad Father. Witches House is also good. Of course, I’ll give pretty much any video game a chance, but--”
At that moment, the professor steps up and addresses the class. Levi’s words cut off, and his blush deepens as he suddenly realizes that he’d gone on a mini fanboy rant. However, you just smile at him, hoping that you come off reassuring, and turn to your notebook.
During the lecture, you’re too busy taking notes to notice the way he sneaks glances your way. And when the class finally ends, and you move to repack your belongings, you look up to find him staring at you.
“Is something on your mind?” you ask him.
“I...um...I-I was wondering if I could get your contact info. You know...f-for class stuff, and maybe, if..if you wanted to, we could also talk more about anime…?”
“Sure!” you say, and he blinks, apparently shocked by your willingness. The two of you proceed to exchange emails and phone numbers, and by the time you arrive at your next class 15 minutes later, 6 new text messages (about anime, video games, and the like) from Levi are lighting up your phone screen.
Satan:
He’s volunteering at the library when you approach him, desperate for help finding a textbook you need to scan for a class. You’ve looked everywhere, but still can’t find it.
“You do realize that this code is indicating that this textbook is online, right? Not physically in the library?” he asks you, a bit of amusement swimming in his eyes when he hands your phone back to you--the screen open to an email your professor had sent a few days before.
You feel heat rise on your cheeks. “Ah, nope. Did not realize...”
“It happens often, actually. I’m sorry for teasing, I shouldn’t have” he says, smiling at you. “If you want, you can come around the desk, and I’ll show you how to access the textbook online. That way, you won’t be confused next time.”
“Thank you,” you sigh, scooting your way around the desk. Satan pulls up a spare chair beside him, and your knee accidentally knocks against his as you take a seat.
“Here, you just have to search for it in the library portal,” he says, and you attentively watch as he guides you through the online website. However, when he starts going off into a spiel on all of the other cool resources and books available to students online, your attention strays.
You notice the copy of Jane Eyre open on the desk beside the computer.
“Are you reading a book that’s assigned in high school AP Lit?”
He blinks in confusion, but immediately goes on the defense when he notices where you’re looking.
“Hey, Jane Eyre is a classic. And the help desk is far too slow some days. I need something to keep me busy.”
“Hmm, I guess that’s fair,” you respond, smiling. You move to grab your bag--pressing to your feet. “I can’t blame you either, considering I actually enjoyed reading it once upon a time. The Great Gatsby was probably my next favorite.”
“Personally, out of all the high school literature, I enjoyed Fahrenheit 451,” he responds, grinning when he sees the disgruntled look on your face at hearing the name of the book.
“Really?? I still have no idea what it was about.”
He’s quiet for a moment. You turn to look at him, and find him regarding you with interest.
Satan smiles.
“Can I buy you a coffee?”
Asmo:
Asmo is working a booth about safe sex in the student union when you approach, hoping to get free condoms (or maybe even donate to support the organization, considering it’s a good cause).
“Well, hello there, gorgeous,” he says, smiling at you as you survey the goodies and pamphlets laid out on the table. He comes off as a little flirty, but mostly friendly, and well intentioned. “Are you here to buy one of our prettily shaped chocolates?”
He motions to the cup full of vagina-shaped chocolates on a stick. Your eyebrows raise. Huh.
“Well, that’s not why I stopped, but I may need to buy one now,” you laugh, making him smile. Asmo leans forward onto his elbows, his eyes twinkling up at you.
“Are you here for the condoms then? If so, feel free to take a handful. We have a ton prepared. People on this campus fuck like bunnies, honestly.”
You laugh. “Oh? Well, good on you guys for protecting all of the precious, needy students.”
He nods sagely, moving to gather you a few of the wrapped condoms, along with some educational reading material. “Can’t have a bunch of students getting diseases, or pregnant. Sex should be fun and safe. Always! And if it’s not both, then find someone else to fuck.”
“Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind,” you say, smiling as he hands you your free goodies. Your eyes stray back to the vagina chocolates. “How much for one of those?”
“5 dollars,” he says, reaching over to grab one. “Pricey, I know, but the money goes to a good cause.”
“I don’t doubt it,” you laugh, pulling a 5 from your wallet. The two of you exchange items, and you pocket the chocolate. You flash him one last smile, intending to walk away, but he pipes up before you get too far.
“By the way, we’re having a class on BDSM safety tonight~” You pause at his words, turning to face him, and he grins at the look of interest plain on your face. “In case you’re interested.”
“Are you...implying something?” you ask, posing a hand on your hip as you turn to face him. He cocks his head to the side innocently.
“I would never~ But you’ve left a good impression in the two minutes we’ve known each other, and I’m the one teaching the class, so~ I’d be thrilled to see you there.”
You raise an eyebrow, surprised, but amused as well. “Maybe I’ll see you tonight.”
With that, you turn on your heel and head to class. But you definitely end up attending the class that night.
Beel:
You meet during a 1-credit, weekend Yoga class. He puts his mat down next to yours, and you can’t help but stare at his biceps, and triceps, and...wow he’s really built.
Aside from that, though, he looks pretty concerned.
“Have you never done yoga before?” you ask him, smiling politely. Having caught his attention, he turns to look at you--the same adorable frown pulling at his lips.
“No...I like to work out, but I’ve never done yoga...I’m not very flexible.” You watch him as he demonstrations by sticking his legs out and trying to touch his toes. His fingertips only reach halfway down his calves.
“It’s okay!” you tell him. “I’m pretty new to yoga too! And this is just an intro course, so I wouldn’t worry. Most of the grade comes from knowing technical terms, and I’ve heard this instructor is really nice.”
At that, he finally smiles--relieved to hear you say so.
“I’m Beel, by the way,” he says.
“Y/N,” you respond, but before the two of you get the chance to talk more, the instructor arrives. You then spend the next few hours smiling to yourself as you watch Beel struggle to get into poses. Luckily, he doesn’t seem to mind that you’re getting humor out of his situation.
“Did you not eat today?” you ask him when lunch finally rolls around, flopping back against your mat. He shakes his head, rummaging around in his bag. You can hear his stomach growling.
“I had an extra large breakfast since I knew I would be burning calories, but I’m starving now…” He pulls an entire sub from his bag, and when you catch a peek at the inside, you realize that the entire backpack is stuffed with only food. Holy shit.
But...you suppose he does need to eat a lot, if he works out a lot.
“I’m gonna grab a soda, and I’ll be back,” you say quietly, assuming that you’ll be eating lunch together, since he’s already turning to face your mat.
“Okay,” he says with a smile, and you smile back at him, excited to get to know him more. However, before you can even get a step away, you’re tripping over your backpack
The world spins, and you hold your arms in front of you--expecting to eat shit--but you don’t meet the floor. Two arms curl beneath you and your body rolls--your ass landing between folded legs.
You blink in surprise, blushing when you glance up and find that it’s none other than Beel who is holding you. Concern is written on his face. He doesn’t seem the least bit concerned that you’re currently occupying his lap.
“Are you okay?” he asks, not moving to release you, and oh boy you think your heart may beat straight out of your chest.
Belphie:
You meet him in the library computer lab at 11:48pm, on the last day of finals.
You trudge into the computer lab, bordering on going blind. You’ve spent the last 6 hours writing out your term paper, and had felt pretty fucking proud when you’d finished with a whole 30 minutes to spare, but just as you’d gone to submit the paper online, your apartment wi-fi had cut out
Of course.
So, you pop a squat at one of the many computers--not even realizing that someone else is in the lab until you hear a quiet snore.
Immediately, you’re pausing, standing to glance around the room. A few computers down, sitting parallel to you, is a dark haired male, with his head down on the keyboard.
Honestly, you debate not waking him. He probably needs the rest, but as a fellow student, and considering it’s the last day of finals? You can’t just leave him be in good conscience.
“Hey, uh, dude?” you call out, glancing at him from over the row of computers. He doesn’t stir. “Heyyyy~ It’s almost midnight,” you say a bit louder. “I don’t know if you’re writing something, but you better submit it.”
Finally, he stirs.
“Aw, fuck,” you hear him grumble, and he lifts his head up--his tired gaze turning to look at you. He sighs. “Thanks. You probably just saved my ass.”
“No worries,” you respond, laughing a little. You sit back down in your seat, and put in your credentials....only for the computer to indicate that you’ve put in the wrong password.
“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me,” you say, deadpanning, and try another password. Then another, and another. None of them work, and you don’t have enough time left to change it.
“I’m gonna fucking jump off the roof,” you deadpan, holding your face in your hands. Belphie chuckles.
“Something wrong?”
“I guess I don’t know my computer password, so I can’t log in and submit my paper.” You say, glancing up. This time, it’s Belphie who is glancing over the row of monitors at you, eyebrow raised.
“You can come use mine. I just submitted my paper. Just log into the school site with your ID.”
“You’re a lifesaver,” you sigh, and Belphie scoots his chair over as you walk around the aisle to meet him. Again, he laughs.
“Eye for an eye.”
“That’s...you use that phrase with enemies,” you tell him, unable to help the smile that spreads across your face. He blinks, and then groans.
“Fuck, you’re right. I’m still asleep. Just...forget I said that.”
“Actually, I think I’ll remember it forever,” you respond, and he grins, his eyes shifting to look at the keyboard as you type out your password.
“Okay, OppaiLover69 exclamation point.”
You feel your cheeks heat up, and when you see the shit-eating look at his face, you debate throwing hands. He’s lucky he’s cute.
Part Five: Friends
Atsumu x fem reader, Suna x fem reader , Hinata x fem reader
A/N: ahh this took me so long to write sorry guys! Been having a tough few days. But we are back in the game. So This chapter is mainly the relationship between Hinata and YN! I love Hinata so much im actually thinking about making another series with him after this one is done. Let me know if y’all would be interested. I decided to put a little NSFW scene in but there is a warning.
Warnings: Angst, some fluff, Smut. And more Angst.
Part Four: Chance Encounters
Part Six: Promises
The night you spent with Hinata is no less than amazing. You don’t remember passing out, but your eyes open from your groggy sleep. It takes you a moment to register that this is not your room. Your eyes widened realizing you had stayed the night which was not something you’d had planned on. You take in your surroundings Hinata lays behind you and arm draped over your waist. Your heart speeds up as you understand how close he is to you, his face nuzzled close to your neck. You could feel his light snores. Oh my goodness! You screamed in your head IM IN A MANS BED! AND HES CUDDLING ME! You had never slept with anyone other than Atsumu let alone cuddled. So this was a lot to process. The hardest thing to understand was why it felt so nice in his arms. You quickly shook that thought out of you mind, you probably were just touched starved you rationalized. That’s why you lie to yourself when his grip on your waist tightens and he pulls you closer to his chest, saying it doesn’t make your heart flutter your just nervous.
“Good morning,” he smiles his voice gruff from sleep. “What time is it,” he questions seeing that you had already been awake for a moment.
“I’m not sure,” you admitt rubbing your head, a twinge of pain zinging threw you. You were slightly startled when he leaned over your body reaching for his phone on the nightstand. A heat creeped onto your cheeks at the proximity of your naked bodies only a sheet separating him from your sight. Although the tenderness between your legs showed that you two had been plenty close the prior night. Thinking of some the activities that transpired last night caused more embarrassment to consume you. You did things with this complete stranger that had taken you forever to work yourself up to with Tsumu. You body was sore from the multiple rounds the ginger had put you through, his stamina was insane, although you couldn’t complain he aimed to please. He laid back down in his spot next to you checking his phone.
“It’s about to be 9:30, he yawns rubbing the sleep from his warm chestnut eyes. You peek over at him getting a better look of his physique in the daylight. Your eyes widened because damn was he hot. He laid on his side propped up on one elbow as he stared at the screen of his device. Your eyes trailed down his exposed chest and abdomen his defined abs and pecks on full display for you. As you look farther down the blanket falls carelessly over his lap one leg peeking out. You raised an eyebrow at the little peek of a tan line you could see. You were broke from you trance as he asks you a question.
“You wanna go get some breakfast?,” your eyes widened “ I’d offer to cook but my fridge is still pretty empty and plus my cooking sucks I’d hate to make you suffer through that,” he chuckled. It was too much this is supposed to be just sex, and breakfast sounds to much like a date, too domestic. You sit up quickly holding the sheet to your chest.
“Ah no I can’t, i-I uhhh need to go,” you stammered looking around the room for your clothes.
“Hey, hey it’s fine,” he try’s to calm you seeing how anxious you are. “you stay right here I’ll go grab your clothes and let you get changed,” he said standing pulling a pair of boxers on. You nodded and steadied your breathing as he went to gather your outfit from last night.
“There you go that should be everything,” he laid the pile on the bed next to you, “uhh sorry about your underwear,” he smiled nervously reaching his hand up to rub the back of his neck. You looked down at the pair of torn lace panties siting at the top of the pile.
You returned an embarrassed smile, “it’s okay,” you assure him.
“Well I’ll be in the kitchen making some coffee, uh the restroom is right out the door to the left if you need it, uhh take your time,” he said excusing himself to give you some privacy.
You take a moment to breath before you start to dress yourself. It felt a little strange to not have on underwear but you guess it’s a small price to pay for the pleasure you felt last night. You won’t lie you definitely needed that stress relief. You quickly finished putting yourself together before exiting the room seeing Hinata standing there at the counter full of confidence for being in only boxers with coffee mug in hand you notice his smile that never seems to stray far from his face just as present.
“Would you like a cup,” he asked gesturing to the still half full pot of coffee.
You smile politely smile before shaking your head no. “Uh I need to get going I have class today, but ..” you trail off trying to figure out how to word what needs to come next. “umm look thank for the offer for breakfast and you know for last night,” he breaks into a big smirk at the mention of last night’s activities. “ but I’m not looking for a relationship so it’s probably best we leave it off here,” still smiling, yet not as big as before, he nods. You breath a sigh of relief.
“No worries I get it.”
“Well in that case, goodbye Shoyo, see ya,” you gave a small wave before exiting his apartment.
Hopefully, Hinata thinks to himself wanting to in deed see you again.
As much as you swore it was a one time occurrence you kept finding yourself back in Shoyo's bed. It was always the same you’d head to your bar, sit in your usual spot, order your usual drink and before long you’d see the orange haired man take his seat next to you. The first time you saw him after your lust filled night together was rather awkward. You were surprised when he sat to you and struck up a conversation like you hadn’t had a one night stand just last week. But the chatting was always so easy going you honestly didn’t mind having him around. Plus with him there less men were trying to chat you up. That second time you met him you told yourself you’d keep your pants on but a couple drinks and several laughs later you’d find yourself in his bed with the ginger in between your legs. You could never find it in yourself to be angry at yourself afterwards ,And while this started happening more frequently it was rare you’d stay the night like that first time. Usually getting an Uber home after getting dicked down. You couldn’t lie it was exhilarating being with Shoyo. Although if you were still pretty hammered Hinata would insist you stay not wanting something bad to happen on your way home. He’d offer you his bed while he opted for the couch. Eventually your routine changed you both swapped numbers and soon enough you weren’t meeting at the bar before heading to his place you weren’t needing the aid of alcohol to loosen you up before finding yourself in his bed... or his shower or really any surface in his apartment. You were both insatiable. In time you weren’t rushing away immediately after. Choosing to indulge him , you’ve come to realize that Hinata really enjoyed cuddling and aftercare. Always lighting up when you’d let him pamper you after a particularly rough or extensive session. He’d gladly spoil you after every round but you were still hesitant on to much intimacy. But occasionally you’d satisfy his want for cuddles. Although you’d deny it you rather enjoyed laying in his embrace feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat lull you to sleep. That was another change you no longer accepted him sleeping on the couch when you stayed overnight not wanting to be an inconvenience but also knowing he’d never allow you to take the couch you stopped him one night stating that you’d like him to stay. His eyes lit up as he pounced back into the bed.
But you stayed firm in the fact that you weren’t looking for a relationship and he assured you that he understood and was okay with the arrangement. And that’s how it’s been for the last two months. It had been seven months since your relationship with Atsumu had ended and you would have never guessed that in seven month you’d be in a casual friends with benefits relationship with Hinata. And that’s what you would call yourselves, Hinata was your friend and you his. You steadily got to know each other more and more about each other’s lives. You were a little concerned when you found out it wasn’t solely beach volleyball he played but you put your worries to the side volleyball was a big enough sport. Right? All in all you’d say slowly but surely you were getting happier. You found yourself thinking of you know who less, and some of the pain was starting to subside. Although that distrust was still there. You were still broken. As close as you and Sho got there was still part of you that couldn’t trust yet. How did you know he wouldn’t get bored of you just like the setter had. You weren’t ready to put yourself up to get hurt again. You wanted to trust Hinata he was an amazing guy so kind and understanding never pushing you past what you were comfortable with. He constantly looked out for you checking on you during some of your intense study sessions as you readied for finals always making sure you were taking care of yourself and not overworking. If you stayed over he’d always make sure to set an extra alarm so you wouldn’t be late for class or work. It meant so much to you how much he cared but you just couldn’t believe in it , you had believed that Atsumu cared about you yet that was a lie. Who’s to say this wouldn’t end up just the same. That’s why you wanted to just be friends, a small part still kept a window of hope open that one day it may be more but it wouldn’t be fair to Hinata to bring up any of this while filled with so much uncertainty.
NSFW below if you’d rather not read it skip the first three paragraphs.
You laid there breaths ragged as Hinata pinned you to the bed your legs pressed to your chest as he pounded into you relentlessly. This was his favorite position he loved being so close to you being able to see all of the pleasure in your face as he worked your body over, your tits bouncing to the rhythm he set.
“Sho,” you moaned your thoughts clouded as he built up yet another orgasm, this was your third one since you had stepped foot into his bedroom.
“What’s that baby?” He smirks as he see you struggle to form words. He loved making you like this. Eyes crossed as you gasped for air, craving the release he’d give you. “Fuck beautiful you know how much I love it when your so fucked out you can’t speak straight,” he laughed. You smile at him happy to provide him with what he likes. Hinata was getting lost in his lust. He freed one of your legs letting it rest against his shoulder as he grabbed his headboard for a better angle as he started drilling into you. A loud whimper ripped threw you. You felt so full as his cock reached so deep into you. You knew you were done for and Sho could tell as well , “ that’s it beautiful go ahead and cum for me, fuck your so gorgeous like this,” he groaned as he followed you into his own release spilling himself into the condom.
You laid there breathless. Hinata stood disposing of the used rubber, he exited the room going to grab a soft wet rag and a glass of water making sure to clean and rehydrate you before climbing back into bed and pulling you onto his chest. You both laid there for a while catching you breath, your head resting on his chest arm wrapped around him as you nuzzled further into him. You could feel his heartbeat start to stabilize. He trailed one his hand up and down your back in a very soothing pattern. It felt amazing honestly laying here with him was better than anything you had ever experienced with Tsumu.
You couldn’t see it but Hinata laid there with the goofiest grin as much as he loved sex with you this was his favorite part. Holding you in his arms so tight calming you while you are still so vulnerable. He wishes it could be like this all the time. That he could wrap his arms around you at anytime to hold you whenever he wants, to wake up to your beautiful bed head. He pushes those thoughts to the side as much as he wants you to be his he knows you aren’t ready and the last thing he’d want to do is rush you. You had told him a while back about your ex and everything he had put you threw and how betrayed you were by his actions. You never told him who your ex was and he didn’t ask it wasn’t his place you’d tell him if he needed to know and he knew that. He hated how much your ex had broken you but all he wanted to do was to do his best to fix the damage done. As much as he wanted to be able to call you his , he was happy to wait.
You were finally back to normal but you weren’t ready to leave his embrace. You decided to strike up a some casual pillow talk. You asked him about his day, how his morning run had went. He asked if you were excited about graduation seeing as it was only a month away. You told him about some annoying customers you had at the cafe this morning. You were smiling up at him laughing at the story story he was telling when his eyes lit up!
“That’s right I haven’t told you yet but I made it through try outs!” He boasted. “ I made the team!” You could see the happiness radiating off of him. For some reason you got an unsettling feeling in your gut. You put it to the side.
“THATS AMAZING SHO!” You yelled launching forward wrapping him in a tight hug. “What team?”
“I’ll be playing for the MSBY Black Jackels,” he grins. You feel everything slow down. The words are still processing in your mind. No it can’t be! Why? Why did it have to be his team! Out of all the teams in Japan why did Hinata have to go to the one who’s starting setter ruined you. Suddenly all of the thoughts and memories of Atsumu that had been hidden from you recently came crashing back to you. You wanted nothing to do with him. You couldn’t do it, for the same reason you had pushed away all of your friends and uprooted your life you couldn’t do this, you couldn’t let him back into your life you weren’t nearly ready for him to be in anyway connected to your life. All of the these overwhelming thoughts at were crashing over you were interrupted when Hinata asked his question. One you knew the answer to but couldn’t give to him.
“We have a game next week, would you come watch me play?” He smiled at you. You looked up at him saddness in your eyes. You quickly stood up gathering and putting on your clothes. Stammering for a response. Hinata sat up in alarm at your sudden actions he could sense something wasn’t right. He waits for you to speak seeing you try to form your words. Now fully dressed. You looked up at him his normally smiling face wasn’t there instead it was a face of worry.
“ I-I can’t Shoyo, I can’t go to your game,” you looked around grabbing your purse and phone, “I need to go Sho.” Hinata was now standing he was so confused everything was just fine what had gone wrong. Had he pushed you to far? Was inviting you to his game to intimate?
“Wait YN,” he said reaching for you he need to know you were okay.
“ I’m so so sorry Shoyo I just need to leave, I’m so sorry,” you said frantically looking into his eyes trying to truly express your sincerity in your apology. It wasn’t his fault. He was just excited about his dream and here you were ruining the moment. You always ruin everything you chastised yourself. With one last woeful look you were gone out the door. Hinata was left there in utter confusion. He let out a sigh before sitting back down on the bed letting out a groan of frustration.
You closed the door to your apartment with a thud finally allowing the tears you were keeping in to flow free. You kicked off your shoes before throwing yourself onto your bed. You let out a scream of frustration into your pillow as sobs over came you. The exhaustion of the day took you over and soon you were out like a light.
You woke up a couple hours later it was only around seven o’clock and your stomach was growling. This wasn’t going to be a good night. You look at your phone seeing several texts and a missed call from the ginger. You let out a groan, first you needed food and then you needed booze. You went to your bathroom taking a quick shower finally cleaning your post sex body. Before putting on a simple outfit. You slipped out your apartment door and out into the Tokyo night. You stopped at one of your favorite food stalls getting a small bowl of ramen to warm your tired soul. Normally you’d head to your Usual bar but you couldn’t there was the chance of running into Shoyo there and that’s not something you were ready for. You pulled out your phone finding a bar not to far out of your area, it had a sleeker vibe but maybe a little change would be good. So with that you head straight there. Its more crowded than what you were used to. It had a more lively crowd than you local bar. There were couples dancing and large groups of friends standing around and laughing. You head to the bar starting off with two shots straight back to back. Tonight wasn’t a night you wanted to go easy. You sat down at the bar nursing the drinking you had just ordered. You thought back to the incident with Hinata, he must hate you, you figured. He was always there for you yet one mention of you ex and you couldn’t even suck it up to be happy for him. You hated that. He deserved better than what you gave him. You were getting lost in your thoughts letting you mind go down a rabbit hole. Finally you looked up from your drink eyes scanning the bar. And that’s when it happens your eyes lock onto each other from the other side of the bar. It felt like all the air in your lungs suddenly evaporated. It felt unreal like you weren’t really seeing him standing there. He looked just as stunned like he had just seen a ghost. He snaps out of his first and when he starts to walk towards you it finally hits you that it’s really him. You finally breath and when you do his name leaves your lips.
“Suna,”
Masterlist Chapter 2
--
“Stay away from Thomas”
The words were out of your mouth before your brain had a chance to stop you. Fuck. The girl you whose palm you held in your hands frowned.
“My date? Why?”
How. How did you always manage to shove your foot in it? You had been doing so well! A steady trickle of patrons to your admittedly shabby little stand. Okay, table with a glittery table cloth and a couple of folding chairs but nevermind that.
“Uhhh, yeah. I’m not sure why but I’m getting a really bad vibe. Is this your first date with him? Where is he?” You asked. You could feel the fear creeping in, like a drop of ice cold water that slides down your spine.
“It’s our first date, he’s grabbing us some food.” She responded, brow furrowed slightly, you could see she was having doubts about her safety.
“What kind of vibe are you getting?” The fact that she didn’t laugh you off right away let you know that she most likely wasn’t as comfortable as she should be on a date.
Your dog looked up at you from her place on the floor, seemingly interested in how you were going to explain yourself.
“Look, I don’t really know what to say I just feel like you should get away as fast as possible. I think you know what I mean, and I think you felt a little weird before you sat down.” You say plainly. You had broke your only rule. No bad news. You could feel her fear now, a wave of anxiety washing over the both of you all at once. In the corner of your peripheral you could see a handsome young man walking towards the both of you with food in both hands. Nothing particularly scary about him but you could feel the hackles raising on your normally silent dog. A low growl came from her direction and you put your hand on her head to calm her.
“There you a-“ he started but before he could say anything else the girl was up, dropping money on your table and hastily making a phone call.
“Sorry Thomas – my mom just called, there’s been an emergency and she’s on her way.”
He frowned. “I can drop you off-“
“No need, thanks for everything and hopefully we can do this again” she quickly called over her shoulder and then she was off.
He stood there for a few minutes dumbstruck. Then you saw something. A glint in his eye maybe? A trick of the lights flashing either from the rides or the games on the either side of your pathetic ‘booth’ and then it was gone. When he seemed to realize that you were sitting there, he gave you a smile and walked away. You shivered and noticed your dog was up and ready to pounce.
“It’s okay girl we’re good.” You reassured her and she once again took her place at your feet, but you noticed that she followed him with her eyes until he was out of sight. Fuck you really needed to work on thinking about what you said before you said it. At least she listened instead of telling you to fuck off, little victories.
“What do you say girl, think it’s time to go?” The dogs ears perked up as you scratched behind one, she responded by standing, her signal for yes. You grabbed the box you had stashed under the little table and started putting your makeshift booth away. The sign which read palm readings $5, the table cloth and the can with your earnings for the night. Slipping the end of the dogs leash around your wrist you folded up the table and chairs and stacked everything neatly and made your way to your Jeep. Tomorrow will be better.
Next day
Carnivals had always freaked you out. A lot of places that were supposed to be fun and whimsical freaked you out. You weren’t entirely sure what it was about these places but it made your skin crawl. The music playing gave you the creeps, the smiles of the people around you seemed wild rather than happy. There was a feeling of something bigger underneath it all, something hungry. Predatory. Patient.
It was a last resort in order to make some quick money with your palm readings, but it always seemed like you were walking into the jaws of some huge monster when entering the grounds.
The dog made you feel better. You had found her in a shelter a couple of years ago and had instantly bonded with her. The staff had told you that she’d been in there for a while since she was notoriously unfriendly but she seemed to tolerate you. You suited each other. What they took as unfriendly, you understood as selective, which was fine. You were selective too. You’d had to make a little sign saying please do not pet the dog but it was a small price to pay for her companionship. She - much like you - was an excellent judge of character.
You spotted a group of teenage girls eyeing your booth, and you perked up. Tried to turn on the charm as it were, usually teenage girls were your best customers. You were usually really good with them and these girls were just what you needed to reach your goal for the night. You smiled along and told them just what they wanted to hear, and seeing them walk away giggling with a spring in their step made you happy. That and the cash you were putting into your coffee can.
Just then you felt it. Something prickling at your skin, like static before a rainstorm. Blood rushed to your ears and it seemed like everything was somehow louder. Something in the pit of your stomach was roiling and you were afraid you might throw up when someone approached your table.
He smiled an easy smile but it held something in it, something that said he knew something secret and you weren’t in on it. You weren’t sure if it intrigued you or scared you. You looked over expecting the dog to growl but she was calm, sitting quietly by your feet. Okay. Weird. She usually didn’t like anyone except you and the occasional small child. She usually hated men in fact but no reaction. It was throwing you off a bit if you were honest but all of a sudden he was speaking to you and you felt like you could barely focus.
“Well birdie, seems like you’ve utterly captured my attention and I simply must know what knowledge you can ascertain from my palm.” He smiled and sat down.
You blinked. What the hell was going? Why did your skin feel feverish? Why wasn’t the dog freaking out like she usually did? Why aren’t you answering?
He patiently waited with his palm upturned and you tried to get your shit together as you slowly reached over and took his hand. He was handsome sure, but never had you been rendered so speechless by anyone before. His rich brown eyes bore into you as you traced the lines in his hand.
“You’re going to meet the love of your life.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“Now that’s interesting, I don’t suppose you’d be able to go into specifics about how or when this fateful meeting is to occur?”
You watched his mouth as he spoke, and he noticed. Curling it into the same secret smile from earlier and you felt the blood rushing to your face. His eyes crinkled when his smile deepened it took everything in you not to smile back at him.
You noticed the blonde birthmark and for a moment you had the wild urge to run your fingers through it. You quickly suppressed that while clearing your throat.
“I don’t have a time and date for you but it’ll be real soon.” You looked back down at his palm and noticed something. There was a little mark. Nothing crazy but aside from yourself, you’d never met anyone else with the same mark on their palm. You tried very hard to keep your breathing in check.
“Is this a scar?” You asked as casually as you could manage.
“That particular mark as afflicted me since birth, curious is it not?” He asked with a tilt of his head. His drawl a little more pronounced. Is it getting hotter?
“Somewhat-“
“Has anyone ever had the privilege of reading the no doubt fantastic future in your palm birdie?”
“That’s the second time you’ve called me that” you responded focusing on the pet name he’d given you.
“It suits you, I ask again- has anyone ever been fortunate enough to read your palm?”
“No.” You responded flatly, reluctantly releasing his hand and sitting back in your chair. He stated back at you and it felt as though he was looking through you, you felt curiously naked.
“As enchanted as I am basking in your presence, I unfortunately must depart. Will you be offering your palmistry services tomorrow night? I should like to see you again birdie.”
“Uhh.. yes, I’ll be back tomorrow.” You’re not even sure why you said that, you were planning on leaving town tonight.
“Wonderful, until we meet again birdie.” He rose smiling, he took your hand in his and pressed a light kiss to it. You stared up at him in shock, your skin prickling where his lips brushed it.
He smiled down at your dog and before you could even think to warn him he reached down and scratched behind her ear. Your jaw dropped as she happily licked his palm while he murmured something into her ear before promptly rising to his feet and striding off into the crowd.
You stared after him long after with the same dumbstruck look on your face. Who the hell was that?
You were lounging on the couch of the common room, reading a book, when Bucky finds you.
“Hey Doll.” He smiles and crawls across the couch until he can wrap his arms around your waist and rest his head on your chest.
“Hi love. Comfy?” You giggle.
“Yeah. Think I’ll take a nap.” Bucky nuzzles his face into your torso. You run one hand through Bucky’s hair and continue reading. Forty minutes later, Steve walks into the common room.
“That’s one lucky jerk.” He says on a chuckle.
You smile up at him, “Hey Stevie.”
Steve crouches down beside the couch, “Hey sweetheart. How are you doing?”
“I’m good. Reading with a weighted blanket on me.” You smile at your own joke.
Steve looks down at Bucky and then back to you, “I…”
“You what, love?”
“I look forward to when I can be like this with you. It’s harder than I thought.”
“We will soon. How about a kiss?”
“Cameras.”
“Forget the cameras. Just for one min-”
Steve’s lips take yours, abandoning all of his reservations. When he pulls back he smiles at you tenderly with a hand on your cheek, “Love you, pretty girl.”
“Love you, Stevie.” You say just as you hear the elevator doors open. Steve snatches his hand away and stands.
“Hey guys.” Nat says as she enters.
“Hey.” You and Steve echo.
“What are you guys up to?” Natasha raises her eyebrow.
“Reading and being Bucky’s pillow.” you smile at her.
“Well, I, uh, need to finish some things.” Steve stutters.
“See ya later.” You say, attempting to hide your smile at Steve’s flustered demeanor.
Natasha grabs a bottle of water from the kitchen and then heads towards you. She motions at Bucky still asleep on you, “He’s out cold, isn’t he?”
“Yeah. He’s a pretty heavy sleeper.” You say.
“Steve seemed a little off.”
You shrug, “He seemed like Steve.”
“Is he okay? Since you picked Bucky over him?” Natasha whispers.
“Nat! That is not what happened.” You seeth.
Nat purses her lips and shrugs as she walks away, “If you say so.”
You look down to see Bucky’s eyes trained on you, “Hi there, sleeping beauty.”
“Hey doll. I saw the look when Steve pulled away.”
“He’s not ready yet. I know that. It’s okay. It’s just sometimes… I don’t know.”
“Yes you do. What is it?” Bucky pushes.
“Sometimes I feel like he’s holding back from me.”
“He’s still hesitant to put us in the open but he’s all in, doll. I knew it when he opened up to you about New York. He doesn’t talk about it much.” Bucky reassures you.
“Really?”
“Yeah, doll. Now, why don’t we go find the punk and show him how all in we are? I leave on a mission with Sam tomorrow.”
“Mph, for how long?”
“Three, four days.” Bucky says.
“Then let’s not waste any more time.”
----
You smile at the handsome face on your screen, “How’s it going, love?”
“All good so far, Doll. Where’s Stevie?” He asks.
“In his room. He said he was gonna watch a movie.”
“Why don’t you go join him? He probably needs the attention.” Bucky chuckles.
“I will. I wanted to check on you first.”
“I’m good, doll. Spend some time with Steve. I’ll be back before ya know it.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too. Tell Stevie I love him.”
“Will do.”
“Doll?”
“Yeah?”
“He loves you. Just like I do. I’ll call you tomorrow if I can.”
“Okay. Be safe. Love you.”
“Love you, too.”
You hang up the phone and change into a short, comfortable dress. You can sleep in it but it doesn’t look like you are wearing pajamas. You check the hallway and move quickly to Steve’s room next door.
You knock on Steve’s door and slip in, “Hey.”
“Hey. What’s up?” He’s sitting up against his headboard watching tv.
“I was talking to Bucky. He sends his love.” You say.
Hopefully, he and Sam won’t kill each other.” He chuckles and holds an arm up for you to come sit with him. You snuggle into him resting your head on his shoulder. He turns the tv off and wraps his arms around you.
“Steve?” You look in his eyes.
“Yeah?”
“Love me. Please.”
“I do, pretty girl. Everyday more and more.” Steve’s lips meet yours and you kiss with tender passion. His strong arms pull you onto his lap and you curl into him. Steve’s hands rove over your body while you wrap your arms around his neck giving him access. You clutch at his shirt, pulling it up, and separate you lips long enough to pull it off. Steve pulls your dress over your head and lays you back to remove your panties. He kicks his shorts off and smiles down at you, “You’re beautiful.”
“So are you, Stevie.” You whisper, running a hand down his chest.
Grabbing your hand, Steve rolls on top of you and pins your hands above your head with your fingers interlaced. His eyes stare into you intensely. With a maneuver of his hips, he’s pressing at your entrance.
“Please,” you whisper to him.
Steve slowly presses into you, never breaking eye contact, until he’s fully sheathed inside. His slow, rhythmic thrust into you causes your breath to hitch as he hits deep inside you while each movement grinds against your clit.
“Steve,” you whisper, “Steve, oh.” Whimpers and moans leave you with each thrust.
“You gonna come for me, pretty girl?” Steve asks.
“Yes,” you moan as you shatter beneath him.
“That’s it.” Steve encourages you while his hips never stop.
Suddenly, Steve’s bedroom door swings open and Natasha walks in. “Steve, do you… Oh my God! OH MY GOD!” Nat’s eyes nearly pop out of her head as she turns and runs out the door.
“Nat, wait!” you yell. “Shit!” Steve rolls off of you and you both jump up to grab your clothes. “I’ll talk to her.”
“We’ll do it together. We’re going to have to tell everyone eventually.” Steve says.
“FRIDAY, where’s Nat?”
“Agent Romanoff is in her room.” FRIDAY says.
You make it to Nat’s room, knock, and enter before waiting for an answer. Nat is holding up a phone saying, “I know what I saw, Clint. There was no room for interpretation.”
“Fuck! Really, Nat? You had to call Clint?” You say.
Nat stares at you, absolutely livid.
“Give me the phone.” You hold out your hand and Nat surprisingly hands it to you. Clint also looks absolutely livid. “Okay, guys, I’m gonna explain this once. Nat just walked in on Steve and I, but what you need to know is that Bucky knows and that we’re together. All three of us.”
“All… THREE of you?” Nat says.
“We know it’s not exactly typical but we love each other and we’re happy together.” Steve says, putting an arm around you.
“And Bucky knows?” Clint says incredulously.
“Oh, fuck it. FRIDAY, call Bucky.” You hand Nat her phone back and walk over to the panel on the wall.
“Hey, Doll.” Bucky answers.
“Hey, Love. Little hiccup in our plan.” You say.
“What’s the matter?”
“So, um, Nat walked in on me and Steve.” You point a thumb over at Nat standing behind you. “And she called Clint.”
“Shit. Hey guys.” Bucky says.
“Hey.” Nat says. Clint echoes her through the phone.
“It’s okay, Nat, really. Well, I mean, could you fucking knock before walking into people’s rooms?” Bucky laughs darkly.
“Yeah.” Nat scoffs.
“Look, guys, we know it’s different, but it works for us and we’re really happy together. Can you let us tell the rest of the team in our own time? Please?” You look at Nat.
“Yeah. Sorry for assuming the worst.” Nat says.
“It’s okay. It was a normal reaction.” Steve says. “Clint?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I’ll keep a lid on it. Uhhh… Congrats, I guess?” Clint says.
You laugh, “Thanks.” You turn back to Bucky’s grinning face on the panel and Steve wraps his arm around you from behind and brings his face next to yours, “You’ll call us tomorrow if you can, right?”
“Right, Doll. I love you. Both of you”
“Love you, baby.”
“Love you, Buck. FRIDAY, screen off. Okay, well, uh, we’re gonna go back to my room.” Steve says, “Night guys.”
Nat lifts her hand to wave and Clint says “Night.” from the phone. As you close the door you hear the two of them burst out laughing and you make out Clint’s voice saying , “I told you something was going on there!”
You and Steve giggle as you make it back to his room.
---
Three days later, everyone is home again and gathers for dinner. You are talking to Wanda when Bucky walks in and pulls you to him for a kiss.
“That’s it. I’m done. Can’t do it anymore!” Steve says, throwing up his hands. He’s to you in three strides, pulls you against him, and kisses you in front of everyone.
“Called it.” Sam smirks.
“I wasn't thinking that would happen.” Tony stares.
When Steve pulls back from you, he looks at Bucky who grins. They kiss while you look on smiling.
“Okay, I did not see that coming.” Sam gapes.
“I called that one.” Tony holds up a finger.
Hi! If that's okay with you can i request class 1a w/ a new foreign student (italian specifically but you can just do foreign in general of you prefer) Who their quirk is having psychic powers? Like Saiki k for example.
I’m literally begging you to forgive me for taking so long to finish this T_T
Also, this turned into a scenario of the class meeting the new student and then a couple HC points, hopefully that’s alright with you and hopefully you enjoy this. Again, I’m really sorry for taking eons to do this and I’m sorry if they’re not that good either.
~
Class 1-A w/ a Psychic Quirked Italian!Reader
"Everyone take your seats..." Mr. Aizawa sighed, his voice thick with sleep as always. Like clockwork the entirety of Class 1-A quieted down and were ready to begin yet another day of school. It was a routine that they've all fallen into, and since it was the middle of the semester, it's now second nature to stop as soon as their home room teacher started talking.
It's become so repetitive and mundane that no one had expected big news to be thrown at them.
"Before we start today's lesson I'd like all of you to meet someone..." without another word the raven haired teacher glanced at the door, beckoning someone into the classroom.
Gently the grey doors slid open fully to reveal a new face.
"Introduce yourself then please take a seat so we can start the lesson..." They nodded, flashing a quick smile at the class before introducing themselves.
"Ciao! I'm (Y/N) (L/N) and I recently moved to Japan from Italy!" Almost immediately questions were erupting left and right, voices mingling into one loud, unintelligible jumble.
"Enough!" Aizawa's eyes turned red and his hair started floating - an indication that they should stop while they still could. When everyone calmed back down the raven haired Pro mumbled something about going one at a time before he crawled into a yellow sleeping bag, falling to the ground with a thud.
After a moment of silence the rowdy group was somehow able to ask their questions calmly and orderly. Some asked what it was like in Italy, others hoped that (Y/N) could say something in they're native language just to hear how it sounded. There was this one purple haired kid that nearly said something but was promptly cut off by several classmates.
None could help themselves, it was someone new that would be with the class for the rest of the year, it's only natural that all of them would be curious.
Finally, the question that everyone wanted to know was brought up - truly, it was a wonder how it wasn't the first thing to be asked.
"What's your quirk?" They, the new kid, smiled, leaning back against the teacher's podium.
"My quirk? It's called Psychic. It's exactly what it sounds like, I'm a psychic." Immediately a curly haired boy - Midoriya - pulled out his notebook and pencil, ready to write down every aspect of his new classmate's quirk.
A blond with a black lightening streak in his hair spoke up, "That's so cool! ...Uhhh, what's a psychic though?"
"Kaminari you dunce it's... uh... yeah what exactly does it mean?" A girl beside him with elongated earlobes asked. A chuckle rumbled throughout (Y/N)'s body, they'd already guessed that an explanation was going to be needed. After all, it happens every time.
"I can do many things as a psychic, but right now, I'll only give you one example. After all, we have training later today right? It would be unfair if you all knew what I could do but I didn't know any of your quirks."
'Tch, just get on with it already damn it...'
'I was about to spiky~'
"What the hell!!" Bakugou, who on the outside had been completely calm for once, suddenly jumped in his seat, eyes full of shock.
"Bakugou!?" Kaminari laughed, slamming his fist repeatedly against his desk, along with a few others who were also trying (and failing) to hold in their giggles.
"S'cusa... I can read minds for one." (Y/N) chuckled, a smirk on their face. The angry blond shot them a glare but didn't comment. To him, it wasn't worth the trouble.
"What else can you do!?" Hagakure questioned.
They thought a moment, "I guess I can show you one more trick..." Everyone waited in anticipation.
"A-Asui!!" Mina exclaimed.
"I told you to call me Su..." the frog like girl sighed.
"No, look!" Nearly ever pair of eyes widened at the sight in front of them. Tsuyu's hair, which was neatly done in a bow like style, bobbed gently in the air.
"Ribbit?" Immediately all the girls started poking at the levitating hair in childish curiosity.
"Ochako, this isn't you is it?"
"No, it can't be. My seat is too far for me to have touched it."
The snapping of fingers caught the ladies attention, and the effect ceased.
"It was you!" Mina pointed dramatically.
"It was"
"Mindreading... telekinesis... what else can they do? What are the drawbacks? Conditions of the quirk?" Midoriya could be heard mumbling off to the side.
"Show us more!"
"Yeah!" A majority of the class shouted, eager to see more.
"Ah ah ah~ You'll have to find out during training, sorry!" they smiled, beginning to make their way to the door, "one more thing. Can one of you help me find the English room?" The bell rang, signaling the end of the period and the exchange student smiling, walking out the door.
"I like them!" Uraraka exclaimed, Kirishima nodding in agreement.
"Yeah! They were even able to scare Baku-Bro!"
"Shut up!"
----
-> After that the more prankster students (Denki, Sero, Mina, etc) would definitely ask them to mess with others using their quirk (mainly Bakugou)
-> At the same time though everyone was curious about what else they could do, after all it's a very slim chance to get into the hero course with a quirk like mind reading or simple telekinesis. Plus, (Y/N) said that that they could do many things.
-> And Oh boy they can
-> Teleportation, Pyro/Cryo/Hydrokinesis, Hypnosis
-> Many of the students (even some of the teachers) were amazed by what they were capable of.
-> Some remarked that it was a lot like Todoroki's quirk, his a two in one while theirs's is like a full on box set.
-> Going back to the topic of Baku real quick, he may get pissy with getting pranked all the time but the boy has mad respect for the new kid. Their quirk is strong, he can admit that (reluctantly and not out loud of course) and he sees them as a worthy opponent and an obstacle in his journey to become the Number One Hero.
-> Midoriya asked them any questions he could regarding their quirk, he's never seen or heard of a quirk like theirs's so of course he's insanely interested.
-> More times than either can count (Y/N) had to initiate a conversation seeing as Mido is shy and didn't want to offend/bother them with all the questions he has.
-> Regarding being Italian, no one in Class 1-A cares that their not from Japan, accepting them as they would anyone else. They will, however, kick someone's ass into next month if someone was to bully them because of it *cough* Monama *cough*
-> Adding onto that, everyone loves their accent (even those who won't admit it). It might have to do with the fact that it's something new to them, they've heard both Japanese and some English but never Italian.
-> The Class would swoon every time you said something in Italian even if it's insulting - they don't know any better!
~~~
Requests are closed right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy my other works while you wait for them to open! You might find something you like, who knows :)

My Sassenach - Said What? Seeing Who?
Obligatory - I’m not dead just bad at writing. I’m sure this is full of errors, grammar and spelling but.... hey it's an update.
A03 Link
“Geillis, you speak Gaelic right?”
Claire watched as the pen paused and hovered over the paperwork Geillis was filling out.
“Aye,” she said slowly.
“Could you… I don’t know the spelling. What does “Mo khiddle” mean?” Claire was certain she had botched the word and it sounded nothing like how Jamie said it. It was much breathier, but rougher (and about a thousand times sexier) when he said it.
“Mo khiddle?” Geillis repeated with her eyebrows scrunched over her forehead.
“It’s something like that. More... I don’t know… more air in it,” Claire answered, her inflection rising at the end as if it was a question.
“Well,” Geillis paused, “‘Mo’ means ‘My’ and ‘khiddle’ is’na a word.” Geillis looked at her paperwork again starting to fill in the details on her patients file. She bit her lip as she tried to think.
Claire rehearsed the word in her head. Jamie has said it to her several times in the night. A few of those times had been when he was deep asleep and her name was in the mix of the words she didn’t understand.
Claire clicked her pen nervously. Jamie had said that he “thought” he was “falling” in love with her. Not that he “was already in” love with her. In all honesty Claire thought that she was in love with him as well but she had repeatedly told herself that it was much too soon for that and she was probably just infatuated.
“Khreah,” Claire said under her breath. She was trying to get it to sound the same way that Jamie said it and she knew that she was falling short.
“Khreach?” Geillis repeated as the scratching of her pen stopped abruptly.
Claire looked up hopefully, maybe she hadn’t got it as wrong as she thought.
“What does that mean?”
“Absolutely nothin’, Love,” Claire looked downcast as Geillis continued, “but ‘Chridle’ does.”
“That sounds exactly the same to me,” Claire shrugged. “What does it mean?”
“Where did ye hear it?” Geillis asked cautiously.
“Is it something bad?”
“No, not at all, it’s just uhhh it’s quite erm, personal.”
“Personal?” Claire asked in confusion.
“Aye, ye ken in French ye say ‘j’aime’ when ye like something, ‘j’adore’ when ye love something. But when ye… ye have that feeling about someone, ye truly love someone ye say somethin’ like ‘je suis amoureux’, it’s similar in Gaelic. The word ‘heart’ in a medical sense is ‘Cridhe’, but then when ye want to express to someone, erm, the proverbial heart it changes to ‘Chridle’. So, it would mean ‘My Heart’ but not in the sense of ‘I’m having a heart attack’, but more like… ‘you are my heart’. Does that make sense?”
Claire swallowed a few times before she could respond and nodded weakly.
“More to the point,” Geillis continued in a businesslike fashion, “where did ye hear it?”
“Oh, just… around. A movie, I think.” Claire lied quickly- aiming for nonchalance but missed the mark by a mile as her voice shook and her cheeks flushed red.
“A movie?” Geillis repeated, clearly unconvinced. “Someone said it to ye?” Geillis guessed as her pen slammed down on top of her paperwork. “Jamie said it to ye?” She guessed again, her voice rising an octave.
“He might have mentioned it,” Claire all but whispered, concentrating very heavily on the file in front of her, pretending to be absorbed while also trying to hide her flaming face.
“What did he say!” Geillis demanded, turning her body fully toward Claire.
“Well,” Claire paused, taking a steadying breath. “He said that, and uh… that he wanted to see me again, and uhh…”
“I mean, in what context did he say it,” Geillis interrupted.
“Oh, uh, he said it in his sleep.”
“So he slept over,” Geillis grinned.
“Well, yeah, and uh, he said it another time, when we were… you know… together.”
Geillis almost shrieked with laughter, “In the throws of passion then! What a poet!”
“Shhh!” Claire hissed as one of the Senior Nurses passed them with a disappointed glare.
“Ye have to tell me everything!”
“I just have,” Claire disagreed as she closed her completed patient file and picked up the next.
“Ye’ve barely told me anything at all.” Geillis looked back at her file and started to write hastily. “Don’t walk away from me Beauchamp! I want more details.” Claire shook her head at her friend, smiling, and made her way back to triage.
It made sense, Claire supposed, that Jamie would say something like that. Hadn’t she stayed awake with anxiety for an hour after Jamie had said that he thought he was falling in love with her as he was drifting off? They’d only slept together twice. Granted, she was Jamie’s first, so it would be a fair assumption that he would be confusing the feelings of lust and love, but that didn’t really explain how Claire was feeling. She knew that felt something for him, but to say it was love? Well, it was much, much too soon for that.
It all felt too difficult, too confusing, too much. And she was definitely over thinking things again. Classic Claire. She didn’t need to worry about these things; their relationship was still so new, and all things going well, it would continue to progress. She just needed to be sure that she didn’t screw things up before then.
—
-I’ve cooked dinner and I have to say, I’ve very much outdone myself. What time do you finish work?-
The message came from Jamie as Claire was opening her front door. Her stomach was entering the painful stage of hunger, it had moved beyond rumbling and was starting to feel like it was eating itself.
-I’ve just got home. I’ll have a shower and come by?-
Claire didn’t wait for a response before she was hurriedly trying to get out of her sweaty, dirty scrubs and into the shower.
-See you soon.-
—
They were dating now. It was official. Monogamous dating. It felt like it had been far too long since Claire had been in a proper relationship. She had been on so many single dates that entering a proper relationship felt foreign. At what point did it feel like they weren’t “dating” but they were a “couple”? Wasn’t that supposed to happen over several months? Maybe even a year? So why then, when Claire arrived at Jamie’s apartment and he kissed her quickly before ushering her inside to a steaming plate of delicious smelling food, did it feel like a practised routine she’d been doing her whole life? The only thing about it that had felt even remotely off was the time lapse between Claire leaving her apartment and arriving at Jamie’s. That felt wrong. It felt like she was just supposed to come home to him.
And that was - Fucking - insane.
She had known Jamie for all of a month. His apartment shouldn’t feel more like home to her than hers did. HE shouldn’t feel more like home to her then he did.
But it did and he did.
“Honeymoon phase,” Claire reminded herself. They were in the honeymoon phase where everything was still bright, fresh and new. There would be a turning point where the routine would become mundane, and there would be something about him that would piss her off to no end, but she would be in love with him and so it wouldn’t actually bother her. Like right now, he had a bit of sauce on the corner of his mouth, stuck in his stubble. She had tried to get him to lick, wipe, wash- anything- something to get rid of it, and for reasons unknown to anyone, he consistently missed before giving up and just leaving it there. He wouldn’t let her remove it either. When she reached out to wipe his mouth he dodged out of her way while laughing. “Saving it for later,” he said as he stopped her hands.
Jamie was stubborn. Stubborn about the smallest, stupidest things. Maybe one day Claire would be beyond annoyed by this. But today, she found it endearing. There were probably a thousand things about Jamie that she would find annoying in time, but right now she was looking through rose coloured glasses. And things looked good.
—
They were sitting on the couch together, the tv playing in front of them, though neither one was watching, when Jamie brought up the topic of family.
“I was wondering,” he said before pausing for a moment. “At what point in us being an item,” he exaggerated, “do we introduce each other to our respective families?”
“I don’t have any family,” Claire shot back automatically. It was an emotionless reply that she had given hundreds of times. She waited for the soft pitying voice that everyone gave her. “Poor orphaned Claire.”
“Ye might not, but I do, and I’d like ye to meet them,” Jamie said unperturbed by her abrupt response.
“Them?” Claire had to clear her throat before she continued. She was surprised by how he had breezed past her rebuttal, though she shouldn’t have been. He never reacted the way she expected. “How many people are we talking about?”
“My sister to start with,” Jamie said. “Her husband and my nephew. Once ye get past that hurdle ye’ll be more than ready to face the rest of the Fraser/McKenzie clan.”
“Clan?” Claire repeated dubiously.
“I can trace back my family for generations, near on- Adam and Eve- ye ken they were Scottish?”
Claire snorted with laughter. “Sure they were.”
“I have a large family, I won’t lie to ye, but I’m really only close with my sister, Jenny and her husband- Ian. Ian was one of my best friends growing up.”
“Bit weird that he married your sister, isn’t it?” Claire asked. She didn’t have any siblings but surely that dynamic wasn’t usual.
Jamie shrugged half heartedly. “When ye see them together, they just make sense. I don’t think that they even had a chance to see it any other way.”
Claire nodded in response, not really sure what to say. Was meeting Jamie’s family really that big of a deal? The same woman that she had mistaken for a potential love interest for Jamie. Laughable now of course, but in the moment- guttering. Did she know that Claire thought that she was the “other woman”? How embarrassing if she did! How close were Jamie and his sister? Would he have told her? Maybe not. They’d only just started seeing each other. Why would they talk about Jamie’s dating life? That wasn’t a sibling conversation! Or was it? Claire had no point of reference.
“What’s wrong? Ye look like yer brain’s going about a thousand miles a second,” Jamie chuckled casually as he squeezed her shoulder in comfort.
“Oh, nothing, just… thoughts… thinking…” Claire trailed off.
“But yer ok to meet Jenny and Ian? It would mean a lot to me.”
“I-uh,” Claire hesitated before asking Jamie what she was thinking. “Are you close with your sister? I mean you said Ian was your best friend growing up. Are you still that close?”
“Aye, I think so,” Jamie said through a stretch. “They probably ken the most about me than anyone I know.”
Claire nodded in response, that’s what she was worried about.
“They, um, they know about us? Dating?”
Jamie nodded, “Aye.”
Claire tried to unsuccessfully swallow the lump that had somehow lodged itself quite firmly in her throat. She hadn’t met someone’s family since… well since Geillis she supposed. Nothing ever really lasted long enough or was serious enough to warrant meeting the family.
“I can feel ye trembling, mo nighean donn,” Jamie laughed lightly. “If ye’re no’ ready that’s ok. Just have a think about it.”
“I’m not trembling,” Claire retorted. “It’s just been a while since I’ve met someone’s family. I’m not really sure… what… what it entails.”
“Oh, the usual. I imagine some sort of arm wrestling, they’ll take yer measurements,” Jamie said as he took a generous squeeze of her arse. “Probably grill ye about yer past relationships and what yer plans are with me. Just normal things.”
Claire smacked Jamie lightly on his chest. “Very helpful. Thank you. Can't wait now.”
“I could introduce ye some of my mates first, but that would just be Ian and why no’ rip off the plaster off all at once and get Jenny over and done with at the same time?”
“Why indeed,” Claire mumbled.
“If ye really dinna want to, ye dinna have to. But it’s something that I would like to happen… at some time… in our future,” Jamie hesitated over the words, trying to gauge her reaction.
Claire worked to keep her face calm while her heart just about leapt out of her chest at the mention of “their shared future”. When did she become such a commit-a-phobe?
“Fine. Fine. Rip the bloody plaster off then. Yes, I’ll meet them.”
“Only because ye seem so thrilled about it,” Jamie laughed. “I’ll ask Jen when she’ll be in town next.”
—
Meeting Jenny Fraser- now Murray- was, to put it lightly, an experience. Claire was already nervous but watching the tiny woman who was at least a foot shorter than her, come barrelling down the street toward her and Jamie, husband in tow was positively frightening. The fact that Jenny Murray could command an entire restaurant into an almost revered silence by her very presence alone was, frankly, terrifying.
She pulled Jamie in for a hug before turning to Claire and, (Claire looked for a better word but couldn’t think of one) inspected her. Jenny’s face was polite of course, a warm smile on her mouth, but it was the dark blue cat eyes, so similar to her brothers but about four times darker, that, also like Jamie, were the true tell of what she was thinking. Initially Janet Murray was not impressed.
Ian on the other hand held a completely different impression than his other half. Still shorter than Jamie (though that wasn’t exactly hard, the man seemed like a giant sometimes) he was about Claire’s height with sandy brown hair and kind brown eyes. He greeted Jamie with a hug, much less forceful than Jenny’s, and Claire with a smile and handshake.
Once they had settled at their assigned table, with appetisers, meals and drinks ordered, that’s when the real awkwardness started for Claire.
Jenny updated Jamie on the comings and going’s of the village that they had grown up in. Mrs McKinnely had finally had that knee operation and was in a worse mood than usual. Alexander Poole had sold off the back half of his fathers property to a residential developer and the whole town was furious with him. Mrs McKimme (the name said with obvious clues to Jamie and a quick side eye to Claire) and her daughter were doing well and asking after him at every chance they could.
Ian managed to have a small side conversation with Claire to stop her from nodding along to news about people she had never met before.
Jamie took hold of Claire’s hand at some point and it took her several moments to realise that she was clinging to it for dear life when Jenny started to throw rapid fire questions at her.
“What do you do for a living?”
“A nurse? For how long?”
“Why scotland?”
“How long have you been here?”
“Where’s your family?”
“No siblings?”
“How do you enjoy your work?”
“Any plans for travel in the future?”
Claire felt like she was on a game show as the clock was counting down and one wrong answer would disqualify her from future dates with Jamie. She’d barely answered the last question before Jenny was asking the next.
Finally the entrees came out and Jenny had to take a break so that she could eat. Probably summoning the strength for the next round of the Spanish Inquisition.
“So Claire,” Ian said gently, “what got ye into nursing?”
“My uncle,” Claire answered quickly, afraid that Jenny would start up again. “We travelled a lot growing up and he always managed to injure himself in one way or another. It seemed like I was always patching him up.”
“Yer Uncle?” Jenny interrupted. “What does he do?”
“He was an Archeologist. A professor later in life. Wrote a few books here and there,” Claire answered quietly.
“Well known then, was he?” Jenny continued relentlessly.
“Not particularly. Unless you have a specific interest in Neolithic Mesopotamia,” Claire answered bluntly.
“And where we’re yer parents in all of this? Surely they didn’t relish ye travelling about the globe with yer uncle?” There truly was no stopping Jenny.
“Janet!” Jamie hissed at his sister as she shrugged back at him.
“I wouldn’t think that they care all that much being that they’re dead.” Was what Claire wanted to say. Instead she swallowed the retort and answered quietly. “They passed when I was a child. My Uncle raised me.”
“Oh,” Jenny paused, her eyes finally leaving Claire’s face, “I’m sorry to hear that.”
Claire nodded mutely, wondering where the next onslaught of questions was going to come from. She was saved by Jamie taking the lead in the conversation now that it seemed like Jenny had run out of speed.
“Did ye watch the Wales game? I did’na think we were going to pull it outta the bag after that dodgy first half.”
—
It was sometime around when their main meals were almost finished that it seemed that Jenny had finally warmed to Claire. Claire didn’t know what had changed but it was a welcome relief after Jenny’s interrogation. Ian and Jamie were arguing over the merits of some Rugby Centre that Claire had never heard of before in her life when Jenny drew her attention.
“I- ah I wanted to say that I’m sorry about earlier,” she said quietly. “It’s just… my Braither has always seemed to jump in head first to everything he does. He’s no’ had a lot of relationships, and he’s only brought a few lasses around to meet the family, so I ken ye’re special to him, it’s just that,” Jenny paused as she tried to think of the right words. “Ian and I, we’re protective of him. Probably too much if ye ask him. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’m sorry if it seemed like I was puttin’ ye under the furnace.”
Claire smiled tentatively at Jenny. “I can understand that.” She desperately wanted Jenny to like her, if nothing else than for Jamie’s sake.
“Aye, ye’re gracious.” Jenny blushed slightly. “Truly though.”
“I mean I didn’t say that I’d like to experience another interrogation again anytime soon,” Claire smiled shyly.
“I suppose no’,” Jenny grinned in return. “Feel free to giv’ it back to me all ye like. I’ll happily give ye all the dirt on this wee lad, including’ the time he jumped butt naked into the Broch in the middle of winter and nearly froze his bollocks off because Lisa Annister said that she’d lay one on him if he did.”
“Oi,” Jamie grumbled, his and Ians’ conversation momentarily abandoned as Claire laughed.
It wasn’t instantaneous, and it took most of dessert and a few glasses of wine, but it was there- the beginning of a friendship. Claire didn’t have a lot of friends, she didn’t need to surround herself with people, she preferred her relative solitude, but there was something about Jenny Fraser. It sort of seemed like Claire didn’t really have a choice on whether they were going to be friends or not. Jenny had already decided and Claire found that she didn’t mind that much after all.
If it was for Jamie, she wondered what she wouldn’t do.

masterlist | part one | part five
The chess game started off with a move from you. Usually you played the black pieces, but Dream had asked to play them and you didn’t want to be rude and say no. You had moved your pawn that stood in front of your king. up two squares. Dream quickly made his move which was moving his pawn in the same way you moved yours.
It was quiet for the first few moves, but it didn’t take long for Dream to start talking. “You’re pretty good. How long have you been playing?,” he asked. You didn’t answer right away since you were making your fourth move and didn’t want to lose focus.
“Since I was a kid. The kingdom is small so there isn’t much to do, so I play chess. Also check,” you said answering Dream. Dream turned his head down at the board and way from you and seeing his king lined up with your queen.
“How long have you been playing?,” you asked Dream as he moved his piece saving his king.
“A few years now,” he answered. You nodded as a response moving your queen to put him in check again. As dream began to think about his next move you turned towards Sapnap who had been quietly watching since you and George’s game.
“What about you?,” you asked catching his attention.
“Hmm?,” Sapnap responded.
“Do you play chess?,” you asked turning back to the board to make your move since Dream made his.
“Uhhh, not really. I’ve played before, but not very much,” Sapnap answered.
You made your move moving your bishop in a direct path to Dream’s king. “Is there a lot to do where you guys are from?,” you asked as Dream began to think about where he would move his king.
“Well it’s pretty big, so there is quite a bit. Mainly though there’s a lot to do because there’s a lot of people,” Sapnap answered you.
“There isn’t much to do here since it’s a small place, plus there aren’t that many people,” you said. You looked back at the board and watched as Dream moved his pawn down two.
You then moved your bishop and took Dream’s pawn putting him in check again. “Besides here, of course, have you two been anywhere else besides your kingdom?,” you asked them.
“There aren’t too many kingdoms around here, so not too many places, but we have been to L’Manberg,” Dream answered your question moving his piece.
“L’Manberg, what’s it like. Have you been recently I heard there’s a new king?,” You said before taking a moment to think about your next move.
“I’ve been there recently, but, uhh, not Dream. The king’s name is Wilbur he has two brothers I believe. I think his brother was supposed to inherit the thrown, but he’s an anarchist or something. I'm not sure,” Sapnap said as you moved your piece.
“I don’t really know a lot about the other kingdoms which is kind of stupid for someone who’s about to rule,” you frowned.
“Well I can teach you about the other kingdoms sometime. To help you prepare,” Sapnap said getting quieter with each word.
“Sounds great,” you said watching as Dream made his move on the chessboard even though you were going to win the game.
“I'm going to win,” You said looking at Dream as he looked at the chessboard his hand holding up his face.
“Yeah, yeah. I know,” Dream said making his final move causing your inevitable win. You smiled proudly and went to collect the pieces. Before you went to put them in their box you turned towards Sapnap.
“Do you want to play?. We have time before supper,” you asked him.
“Uhh, no. I’m not that good,” Sapnap told you.
“Maybe one day I can teach you. To return the favor,” you smiled. “Maybe,” Sapnap responded.
“I’ll get going. See you at supper,” you said standing from your seat and heading back into the castle.
“Sapnap, what the hell?,” Dream whispered loudly toward Sapnap.
“What are you talking about?,” Sapnap asked completely clueless to what Dream was trying to say.
“You are so bad at flirting,” Dream laughed.
“Your majesty, your father request you in his office,” one of the servants said as you entered the main hall of the castle. a you nodded as a response and made your way through the hall.
You walked towards your father’s office knocking when you reached the doors. It didn’t take long for the large doors to be opened by your father’s butlers.
“Y/N, sit down,” your father said. You obliged and took a seat in front of his desk.
“I want to make sure you like the guards. You’ve only know them for a short while so it’s not too late to get new ones. I just want to make sure you are happy with them since you see them all day,” your father said.
“They’re fine. I mean they’re kind and not to bad of people, so i’m sure everything will be fine,” you told your father.
“Okay, tell me if anything changes,” your father told you.
“Of course,” you told him. Your father nodded and then sent you to get ready for supper.
