Featuring headcanons for Karlach, Lae'zel, Shadowheart, and Minthara.

Karlach: 

You two lay in Karlachs tent, winding down for the day. She lay on her back while you were cuddled closely to her side, your head resting just on top of her shoulder.   Her eyes are shut in bliss. She absolutely could stay like this forever, she thinks. Youre so soft, so warm, so cute and so… 

… Sharp? 

She opens her eyes to see you with a portion of the exposed skin on her chest between your teeth. It didnt hurt at all, but it did cause her to curiously raise a brow.

You immediately latch off and apologise, explaining your little quirk. 

“Awh soldier, that is adorable! Youre like lil cat!”

*Cue suffocating her with a pillow*

You scowl and turn to tuck your head into her shoulder. 

“Awwe, its okay love, you can bite me all you want, its cute!” 

Lae’zel: 

It was one of the rare nights Lae’zel indulges you with cuddles and a surge of raw emotion from the sheer domesticity you felt took over you. Unfortunately, the easiest outlet proved to be your teeth clamping down gently onto the thick skin of Lae’zels bicep. 

She immediately moves away and assumes a defensive stance–rather, the best she could do while still laying on the floor. 

You profusely apologise and explain what you were doing.

“Chk. I almost thought that lousy vampire had turned you into one of his.” 

After thorough reassurance, she seemed to trust that you were in fact, not a vampire and didnt want to drain her dry. Not that you could, even if you tried.

“I suggest issuing a warning before making another attempt in the future. I would not want to endanger you. Peculiar habits aside.” 

Shadowheart:

Shadowheart played with your hair as you were splayed on top of her, the pressure on her body serving as a soothing reprieve from her own mind. 

She just shut her eyes and was about to nod off until she feels you shift. And then feels the sharp pain of your teeth on her shoulder.

She opens her eyes and is met with your own widened in shock. 

You look at her guiltily and stumble through an apology before starting to slide off of her in fear of her being mad at you.

She grabs you and scoffs. “Stay. A little nibble is hardly cause for me to want you to leave.” 

Minthara:

Minthara enjoyed having you like this. Your head resting on her lap as she read a book she stole from some poor merchant.

You look up and see her hands. The way they held the book from your angle seemed all too enticing…

Of course, you end up snapping at them only to immediately let go and apologise.

Minthara sneered. “Pathetic. If you must bite, there's no reason you should be holding back. You must always commit. Tender moment or otherwise.” 

She wears your bitemarks like badges of honor.

A/n: Im proud of the dialogue. I think I captured them well. This fits really well as a Durge reader but I just wrote this as a self insert for my weird bitey tendencies

before i get into the bad, which there was a lot of imo, lets talk about what i loved

☆ i loved that jen got away and got her powers back. i really love her character and i hope we see her again. still crazy how agatha is the one who bound her like omg ???? good for her love that diva

☆ i love the agatha and nicky scenes. and then creating the ballad together, soooo sweet. she was such a good mom im so sad

☆ i love the alice part as heartbreaking as it was

☆ the part where billy created the makeshift grave for alice, lilia, and sharon

☆ "MY LOVE" "YOU LOVE ME" "WHY DON'T YOU WANT ME" im sickkkk they're absolutely insane and i love them so so much

☆ rio planting the flowers over agatha's grave, im sickkkk

☆ AGATHARIO KISS !!! was so so beautiful and passionate i love them.

☆ ghost agatha is sexy, don't know how i feel about her hair tho. some angles i like it, some angles i dont

now what did i hate, just about everything else.

☆ i hate how the first time we get a lesbian kiss in marvel, one of them dies. the bury your gays trope is so fucking tired. wrap it up. i don't care about male gay rep because they already had it in the mcu with eternals, it's not fair that when lesbians finally get rep, we don't get to keep it.

☆ not only do i just not fucking like billy, i hate how so much of this show centered around him, like if this was supposed to get me excited and into billy, it failed drastically. FUCK BILLY ??? WHO CARES ??? the show is called agatha all along and i feel like it was billy all along in too many parts. we didnt even get to see too much of her because of HIM. ALSO her sacrificing herself just to end up basically being his ghost side kick is also stupid. because while i get agatha not being able to face her son again, then why kill her ? why not let her live, what because he's a maximoff that we're supposed to see in later projects ??? like who gives a shit.

✧ they put entirely too much of this show on wiccan / joe's popularity and it didnt work nor make sense.

☆ also, on the topic of billy, i don't get why agatha just didnt drain his power and kill him. i know she made the deal with rio and stuff but he could've reincarnated into another body and they could continue wiccan's journey like that but in a different body. it honestly just seems like marvel sacrificed agatha to keep joe locke and its like who fucking cares.

☆ i hate how im left with more questions than answers.

✧ how and why did rio and agatha get married? agatha has been killing witches for so long, and im assuming rio appeared everytime, when did they get together?

✧ rio referes to nicholas as nicky, why? from what we saw in those 6 years agatha and nicky were together, she wasn't there.

✧ why did they make it seem like we would see them raising nicky together?

✧ they described agathario's history as "long and complicated", yet we never saw that or the aftermath of their relationship after rio took nicky? did rio and nicky meet before? because he seemed to know her or at least not be scared enough to feel "stranger danger" like what happened.

✧ in episode 4, we get agathario almost kiss and hat seemed like a healing moment for them and in the end we get agatha never wanting to see rio again ? why ? what happened that we didn't see for this seemingly drastic change.

✧ in ep 5, rio very clearly hates agatha's mother and refuses to let agatha go with her, and obviously we as an audience can infer the reason why, agatha told her what happened but still.

✧ how did the agatha trading nicky for the darkhold rumor even start ? agatha gave birth alone in the woods and gave him a completely different name, who knew about her son ? how did they find out ? im sooo confused by all of this

i love this show, or at least the concept, but i don't love the execution. it was supposed to be about us learning and getting to know agatha and i honestly feel like i don't know her at all. i loved eps 1-4 and ep 7, everything else, eh.

Twst mlp AU | thoughts behind the designs

I made Leona an earth pony with a thicker build. Hes a square with sharp angles! Hes one of the first drawings I made for this ‘series’ so its a bit lackluster, but I wanted him to be nice and hairy. I gave him a more lion-like tail, and some jewelry from his culture. His ears are nicked and he has long, slightly tangled hair. He also has a lot of hair around his neck becuase he’s a lion! I gave him a color scheme vaguely resembling a lion as well. Also nice and hairy legs, i love to draw those on horses. His cutie mark is three claw marks over clouds of dust. There are multiple different meanings to this cutie mark.

Vil covers up his cutie mark for personal reasons, but its a spotlight shining behidn some curtains. I tried to give him a more ‘feminine’ look while also keeping sharper angles. I love his color scheme, and i made him a unicorn because I thought it fit perfectly. I considered making him an earth pony to really show how he works hard for everything and doesn’t take shortcuts, but in the end unicorn won. I might change it later though! I had to give him some elegant white spots too, because aesthetically it just clicked in my head. He has a purple bow and has his unique hair accessory in his bun. I gave him longer eyelashes, and instead of making his hair a blonde-purple gradient I made some locks purple.

Jamil!!! He’s one of my favorite designs. I know the obvious choice seems to make him a unicorn, but HEAR ME OUT ON PEGASUS JAMIL! It adds a lot of symbolism and extra layers I think, it’s very tragic. Plus, he looks pretty with wings. I gave him darker and greyer colors to portray his darker and jaded nature, and it’s a nice contrast to Kalim’s design. I tried to vaguely design him off of Arabian horses but it didn’t come through very well. Did you know that MLP has a race of horses called ‘Saddle Arabians’? I didnt and i think its absolutely hilarious. Jamil is also supposed to have bags attached to the thing around his waist, but I’m too lazy to draw them.. His cutie mark is an eye with the world as its pupil, and a snake curling behind it. I put a lot of thought into his cutie mark and I’m really happy with what I came up with! To me it has 4 different meanings! I kinda want to redraw Jamil because he looks so small compared to the others!

Kalim is a unicorn for even more delicious angst. His whole family is unicorns. He’d much rather be a pegasus, but at least he has the magic carpet! Jamil thinks it’s bullshit that Kalim can use magic AND can fly. I made Kalim’s colors more vibrant and yellow and lively. He wears lots of jewlery, has tattoos and is my favorite design of these four! He also took me the longest. His cutiemark is a sun or a coin with gems on it, and it has wings. This too has multiple meanings. I think in the Scalding Sands culture the snake jewelry was something the sorcerer of the sands, an alicorn, wore around his horn. Maybe the original was a magical artifact? Well, Kalim, and other people from the scalding sands, wear fakes to honor the sorcerer. Anyways, I made Kalim slightly hairier then Jamil to show how he’s softer and wilder.

thanks!!! tbh applying a filter would probably be an easier route to go if it didnt sit wrong in my like... idk creative instincts. instead i use a very time consuming method called "drawing a face over and over and over again until i kinda get how it works"

actually im gonna use this ask as an excuse to post some studies here is the process:

basically step 1 i trace a photo so i can kinda get an idea of how shit works, then i try to draw the photo using what i learned from the tracing. 1st round is always wack so step 3 is comparing my proportions to the photo again. with armand i consistently drew his face too long lmao u can see it in the corrected sketches. then i do a second round of sketches, corrections, and usually a final sketch that i use as a light/shadow study. sometimes i end up doing more sketch passes if i really cant get the hang of it.

then repeat:

the goal is proportions and consistency, so hopefully when i draw a face with different expressions and angles - even if I dont have a reference that precisely lines up - i can still end up in the ballpark of recognizability.

funnily older daniel is much easier for me to draw than younger daniel tbh. theyve got similar faces but the actor for older daniel just has more distinctive features i can center stuff around, whereas young daniel eludes me a lil bit.... i gotta do more studies of those guys if i can shake the armand fixation for like 10 minutes

I shall always remember those past days of my childhood, those days where something...

I dont really remember My childhood that much but i remember that i had parents that were kind and loving, I grew up in a small town near a huge forest where I always used to play in! It was very fun!

I used to play there from when the sun came up until the soon went down, I've always had a thing for forests I guess. I made many memories there!

But one memory shall always stand out for me. I remember it was a beautiful spring day I was playing in the grass as a normal seven year old would.

Until a man approached me.The man asked me kindly "Hi there little one I was wondering if you have seen a dove fly by?" His voice was calm and gentle he was dressed in a long white gown and his yellow eyes that shined bright...

He didn't look human at a all but I still answered him."Uh no sir I haven't seen a dove fly by..." "Ah, what a shame" he said and smiled gently, but then he asked "Whats your name? How old are you?"

"Huh?.. well im Malkim im seven!" "Seven? You're a baby why are you here All alone!? Where are you're parents?" "My parents?.. well they are at work" "Oh dear. Well we should get you home Come on. Why don't I follow you home?" "Oh uhm..sure?.."

Then that mysterious man ended up following me home dropping me off, but after I meet him there would always be two white Doves that would just sing all day plus they would follow my parents around everywhere they went...I never knew why.

But then...

one day, when I came home from playing in the forest I saw my house, it was in flames. The house I grew up in was set in flames...

But there was something off, the two doves that always used to be there...were dead..? They burned in the fire just like my parents did...

"Oh dear what happened here..?"A familiar voice said it was the same young man I meet some days ago..."I dont know...i just came home and and!-" i said my voice was trembling, for the first time in years I was crying..it hurt

wait I’m so confused why was she there? It was just a Q&A?/ its funny that after cannes and her self center behaviour with whole ass photoshoot she did and article he dont take her to any big events only some q&a, some premiere in denmark or one la event that noone saw her noone took a pic of her but somehow she pop up in one pic(also the guy who post it reupload the pic, but the wider angle and now you can see vine glass in her hand, why he edit the post i dont know).

And today omg, for some time seb did solo pap walks, solo everything but couple of bad words, bringing actor on actor, and some angry people was enought to bring aw back again, almost like before golden globes last year when we had more pap walks yet it didnt help at all. And the pic are so bad again emily is in the middle, aw walk behind like part of his stuff, they dont hold hands, hell they dont even look at each other on any pic we got and at the end seb hold the door for emily and then just walk away to the car. He didnt check if aw is behind, dont look back, dont care, probably didnt even open the door for her to the car. This is not how bf act, walking away with hands in his pockets without care in the world if his gf is still there or if she maybe trip and fall, no he just living by himself(tom would never let that happened. He save zendaya and never left her behind. If that was seb and aw he would probably didnt realise aw is not there until the end of the walk) and omg the full smile of aw, the way she look straight into the camera, like noone talk to her, noone look at her, noone is even smiling yet she have this full teeth hw smile on for all the pic. God its red flag, pr after red flag, pr. Im the beggining seb at least hold her hand but after the london party i didnt saw them even one time holding hands.

And deux is a whole circus by herself, a year ago she invite on her podcast a guy who straight up said aw and seb are pr and she agree with him but now no, they are in love, somehow now she post exclusive pic that even aw like, and now she is fighting in the comments for them. Also the article deux wrote for the rome pap walk was like a desperate fanfic not gossip side, if she wrote : we can see how they hold hands, share kisses and drink coffe, we can so see it- its just comical at this point. Deux is a joke but at least she got paid for it.

Really no matter how much pap walks and stage pic they do this dont look good. This only look like red flag rs and full blown pr.

Long time no see!

I've been watching some classic who lately to see what's the fuss is about and... Yeah it's cool! I mean, all that i said in my rant on Blood of the Daleks still rings true, the pacing and narrative style is an acquired taste that is hard to get for a person like me, but don't get mistaken, i still liked what i watched, so much so I'll give a ranking from the episodes I've watched, im watching the episodes randomly, mainly the ones that interested me the most, so let's go.

From "worst" to best:

Season 18 - Full Circle

Honestly didn't grab me, i found it to be kinda boring, even though there is interesting thematic stuff here to be analysed. I liked Adric, but he was like this episode, confusing and kinda boring for a big part, the pacing is really slow, but i think this time for more narrative reasons than classic whoish shananigans, the weakest one by far.

Season 4 - Tomb of Cyberman

The second Doctor is the incarnation im most intrigued about, from the actor to the mystique of the lost episodes, and tomb being one his most iconic outings i though id see what makes him so beloved................ i was wrong, but not a 100%. I don't see much reasons to love the 2nd based on his scenes in this, not even the companions, they kinda don't do or show much, the episode focus more on the other parts of the narrative that being totally honest are boring, the Cyberman scene was really cool but also they don't have much of a presence on this episode, underwhelming more than i wanted to be, a bad first impression of the era, i'll try The Mind Robber or the Invasion later to see if its just me or the episode was boring.

Season 10 - The Five Doctors

Now it starts the episodes that i liked it, and this one is... nice! The Davidson doctor the is the one im the least interested in watching and this episode kinda helped it because i didnt see anything in him that wowed me, but the other doctors all of them offered me something interesting to care about them, i dont have much to say in this episode besides it was fun and all.

Season 25 - Remembrance of the Daleks

I might be admitting a crime with this one but it didn't grab me a lot, it was the first classic who story i've ever watched a couple months before this marathon and probably that's the reason i find to be so underwhelming to me, i don't remember much scenes besides the "unlimited chocolate pudding one", i will rewatch later once i watch Fenric and Happiness Patrol, but at the time, i didnt leave a mark on me.

Season 13 - Pyramids of Mars

I watched this episode at the height of the Sutekh rumours in the new series and liked more than i thought i would, yeah, the pacing is the biggest issue like ever but i loved Sarah and the 4th dynamic, they fell like old siblings with their constant quips and jokes, i also loved Sutekh (more than in those recent episodes btw) he was sitting throughout the 4 episodes but it was menacing and iconic, his voice is the biggest contributor, the soft but raspy tone, the way he emphasises certain words in a sentence giving them more weight, it sticks in my mind like bubblegum, i love also how they showed that Sutekh is a big deal in case he is freed better than those new episodes, Devils Chord literally rips off a scene from this episode where 4th shows Sarah the possible future where the world ends, it's great, a good episode all around.

Season 12 - Genesis of the Daleks

Ok, this one is kind of amazing, yeah it is a 6 parter, it gets boring after a while but what i love here is the themes on how the wrong point of view in survival and evolution could lead to genocide, if we took the nazi angle yeah it was kinda revisionist implying that the actual scientists would be against such a thing ignoring how fascism works as a thing that reaches the masses and also it can be seen as a kind of shallow portrayal that weakens the message but i see that this episode can have more reads than one, its cool to see the doctors dilemma and all. And also i love the anxiety and desperation of most of these episodes, with our heroes really near to get what they need but being stopped by some force, its great.

Yeah, i was watching a lot of 4th Doctor but i also watched this one and it was great, i dont have much to say besides that i loved it, i like 3rd and his dynamic with Liz, at least their first interaction was great.

The first one i watched in this recent marathon and its great, im shocked at how funny this one was, mainly in the last two parts, the downside is that i kinda dont get the hype still, even though i liked it, this episode in fact condenses all my opinions on classic who, i like what i see but i dont see what yall see, if that makes sense at all, still, was really fun. 84/100

Season 14 - The Deadly Assassin

By far my favorite from the classic series, at least at the moment, it's intense and interesting, starts with a gut punch of a mystery and it builds really well, and still treats timelords with certain respect even when showing them as burocrats, granted, everything i said in the previous section still true but this one grabbed me a lot. Even with the weird pacing in part 3.

And at the moment thats it, i dont know how long the Doccy Who hyper fixation will stay but ill enjoy it by watching more classic who episodes, the underline is that, i like what i see but all the problems i talked in my Blood of the Daleks review/rant still are true, i dont know if ill ever "get it" but i will keep watching to see whats going to resonate with me.

So uh

I went unexpectedly hard as fuck on this So the story is that I was hanging out in my discord server with my friends and my friend who i will call bird man, talked how he should draw his dragon character asoma at some point but he doesnt have a design for him yet. I know bird man struggles with drawing and character design and I also just love (re)designing characters for my friends so I innocently asked what he would describe the character to look like, thinking I probably wouldnt be able to make him anything with my current state of mind and body. I get a vague description (which is no problem because it means more creative freedom) and get to work on sketching

This was my first draft that I shared:

Colors were a lil rushed because i hadnt eaten anything and was waiting for groceries to be delivered so i set out to render it once i had my groceries and i had eaten a bit Then after eating and doing the dishes I refined the sketch to this

I changed the head angle and added wings so there wouldnt be as much empty space Then i set out to do the lineart with a new brush, leading to some experimentation before i ended on this:

Now it was time to redo the colors and i decided to change them up a bunch because the original palette didnt really look too nice and was kinda rushed and i knew i could do better. Now I dont have screenshots of my coloring process because I was in the zone and just kept working on it without more breaks until i ended up with the fully rendered version so uh yeah My muse just came out of nowhere, tackled me and then shook me like a rabid dog with a dog toy Can't say I will draw another piece as detailed as this one any time soon or even when i will make another drawing in general as im just feeling out when and what i want to draw or if i want to draw at all Anyway sorry for the long post Basically I wanted to make bird man a gift and my brain just took of running with the idea. Didn't make bird man anything for his birthday because i was very out of it back then so i guess thats why my brain went so hard on it haha I hope you guys enjoy!

TOHO SPIRITED AWAY?? PLS GIVE ME THE DEETS

oh it was soooooooooo good i'm so happy i got a chance to see it!!! gorgeous design all around, there was no standout elements bc everything fit so well together. all the spirits + magical elements were done with traditional (japanese and western) style puppetry, so everything was articulated and manipulated by an operator, which had this really wonderful almost youth theatre vibe. a lot of times with shows that involve puppets, they'll try to make the puppets as advanced as possible to not make them 'childish' (see: war horse), but for something that's based heavily in folklore and IS a children's story, to me the only logical sense is to emphasize that particular angle. the puppets were also incredible, very well made and sooo accurate to the movie??? like impressively accurate. my faves were probably kamaji and haku? kamaji's six extra arms were each operated by a separate person who had one hand operating the elbow and one hand as the actual hand, so all eight hands were able to do everything, which mean there was some REALLY incredible choreography of just. all the stuff that he was doing, but also when he got up and walked it was soooooooo cool. and haku!!! he had two puppets actually, one 'full size' that was a big long foam articulated body that took i think four puppeteers, and there was a tiny haku that they used for the flying scenes that was basically just a little head and a ....idk what the actual technical term is but it was basically just a wind sock as the body on a big long pole so the puppeteer could essentially move him like you would a big ribbon! the scene were he first transforms and flies off was sooo pretty, the actor haku did a lil setup to a GORGEOUS spinning jump and when he landed he ducked down behind some of the chorus members and as he disappeared the tiny ribbon haku shot up from the same spot and started looping around.......... actual magic. also wow the actor playing haku was so pretty. and very tall. which i did not notice until the very end. i would not be suprised if he had ballet training bc tall and he had the ballet dancer chin/head posture. also the actor playing lin (also doublecast as chihiro's mom) was crazy hot. just so unbelievably hot. anyways. speaking of casting: noface as a popping dancer. UNREAL and incredible galaxy brained choice. he had a solo while they did a set change and WOW. spooky and gorgeous and also weirdly welcoming? really excellent job of embodying a sympathetic physicality that made it understandable why chihiro would let him in to the bath house in the first place. also for the curtain call he put the mask on the back of his head and literally did the bows backwards. insane. my ONLY complaint is that i didn't love noface's giant form, but that's mostly because years and years ago i saw a (different) puppet show with a grim reaper character that was very similar to giant noface (the telescoping neck + large body) and i literally thought at the time 'if you were going to do puppet noface that is exactly how you should do it', so 1) expectations 2) i'm pretty sure that version was done using quite a sophisticated extending mechanism, which would be antithetical to the rest of the puppets in the show, and 3) this giant noface was VERY big (probably at least 10-15 feet across? he was at least eight puppeteers with the original actor as the mask) so the logistics would not have worked. regardless. it is a very small complaint that literally no one else would have had unless they had seen the same show that i did in like. 2015. costumes were all unreal, the set was phenomenal; it actually took me WELL over an hour to figure out that the set literally stayed the same the entire time, it was just being rotated (it was on a turntable) and redressed + had a couple balconies flown in. also live orchestra?? in the set??????? i didnt even know they were THERE they had them behind a scrim on an upper level platform in the back and they pulled it up for curtain call and there was like. 15 ppl sitting back there????

ok but if i had to pick ONE thing that was my favourite, it would be that ALL the living things were played by someone alive. i know that sounds obvious, especialy for like. the dancing vases and the frog and the soot sprites, but even the PLANTS were puppets in their own way. like the hydrangea bushes that chihiro hides in at the beginning and the flower field that she and haku run through were done with chorus members wearing these beautiful flower head/chest/arm pieces. even the stone guardians at the tunnel at the beginning of the play were actors. it really underscored the magic of everything to have all the life be actually alive.

Sorry, person who sent the Amity ask here. I saw your tweet along with the blog response. Firstly, i didnt mean for my ask to be upsetting so im sorry about that.

Secondly, i kinda wanna clarify that i meant the fandom knows Amity isnt a morally good person not so much a bad character? (although yes her writing is not that great in s2 and arguably in s1 it is 'eh' handled too.)

I think the writers really could have tackled that morality issue and possibly tried to integrate Amity KNOWING her flip was selfish, it could have been an interesting s2 dynamic with Willow.

(but ofc... Hunter, who devours screen time. sorry i hate this guy, he is so pointless in every way. familial abuse? already being done with Amity. Setting up caleb? could have been done in so many other ways that didnt make characters like Gus and Willow have like no real development. showing Belos is evil? Vee is RIGHT THERE as a experimentation victim. and ykno, trying to commit genocide is a pretty big tell of e v i l.)

No need to apologize. It's not your fault and honestly, I could in theory try to hold myself back doing these and not get as emotional. I prefer how I'm doing them now because I think A: it just shows my passion for writing which... you know, it is my job, B: it shows that I'm not just doing this to prove I'm 'better' than The Owl House or any shit and C: that all of this comes from a place of... Well, sympathy to anyone else who is like me. Anyone else who adored the show and could ignore its flaws until it just turned into something so much rougher, meaner and blatantly unplanned. I agree that tackling Amity's flip as having been selfish and only around one person would have been interesting. It also would have meant painting Lumity as a non-universal good thing and that is clearly not something they want to do, despite everything they have Luz do post them getting together. They WANT that title of healthiest couple in media for their little Disney lesbians even if they've lost that possibility long ago. So I don't blame them for not following that specific angle. But I also made my blog last time the way I did because... By the end of season 2, how much do YOU believe she's still a morally gray character? Even if she's still mostly motivated by Luz, this is a character who won't snoop, won't be mean, tries to emulate her version of Luz, which is the sweet version of Luz, when faced with a dilemma, etc. like that. She is a good guy through and through, and especially more so than Luz because she has a problem with someone and she opens up communication, despite that making NO SENSE. Then again, much of Amity's actions post becoming Luz's girlfriend don't make sense in the context to what love, acceptance, etc. like that means with the only explanation for it being that Eclipse Lake was all it took to clear all that trauma and mistreatment because "It's Luz! What was I thinking?" *siiiiiigh* And then S3, from the clips I've seen, push more her being sweet or a complete fucking disaster, continuing something that has been happening since S1 even. After all, "Watch it, nitwit!" is like... the last mean thing Amity has said or done to someone who wasn't framed as deserving it. But she has been a fucking saint ever since then. And as a note, because I call even Amity's character arc bad, this is not a bad place for it to have ended. HOWEVER, the lack of her past self, her past actions, any personal goals or the like... It'd be like if Zuko joined the gang and then immediately was smiles, rainbows and totally not interested in killing his dad because that can wait, I just want to fish! At that point it's just an entirely different character and there are definitely points at which Amity just feels like she must have an entirely different history and personality than the one we knew and were told.

And as for Hunter, I've covered some of my feelings about him when someone asked me if I thought Lunter would have been better for the show *gags* but there's obviously more I could talk about with just a piece dedicated to discussing the character. When the baseline of your character is "Discount other character", you know things are in for a rough time. The fact that he's a discount Amity when I already think so poorly of Amity's handling... OOOOOOH BOY.

i spent the weekend watching various horror movies in netflix (my moms accnt obvs) cos i was too lazy to pir/ate anything. i watched uuh.. konferensen 2023 (it was fine, it was a good time), split 2016 (p good imo tho the superhuman angle was kinda silly to me. but it was interesting. solid. ending was a bit unsatisfying tbh? and the msg quite confusing? like i geddit, empowered victims.. but the kidnapper ended up becoming a perpetrator too? and the fl didnt shoot him in that crucial moment AND they also didnt show what she ended up doing abt her uncle. idk if the plan was 2 make a sequel but it all ended up coming off as.. pretty lukewarm..), the stepfather 2009 (nice. rly straight foward w the premise tho not super focused w its message.. like it was abt family but it gave too much focus to the protags gf? which i thought was a bit juvenile like we get it they are teens in love now lets get back to the dude trying to murder the whole family please.. also i kept thinking the story wud have been fun from the mothers perspective as well.. oh and a bit more bg & development for the killer wud hv been stellar), monster 2023 (indonesian) (plot was p standard (rly reminded me of that free ice cream horror flash game) but i rly liked it visually! rly cool scenography!! it almost had no dialogue & that was rly refreshing and interesting. it really didnt need any), and today i watched longlegs 2024 w my sister (which i did pirat/e)..uuuuummm... ok SPOILERS for longlegs

i rly liked the way it was filmed n the photography. also the music/sound dsgn. the time setting was confusing as hell for me tho?? like idk im not usamerican but the story supossedly took place in the 2000s but it all looked like the 70s to me???? and there are big differences between the 2 eras its not like im THAT period blind. the only scene i thought oh yeah theres no way this is the 70s is a scene in which you can see computers in the bg but anyways. the movie.

it started off GREAT. very eerie.. i had no clue abt the plot or anything btw i went into it completely blind.. so i had no idea if the movie was going for a realistic angle or a more supernatural angle. it rly reminded me of it follows 2014 not bc the fl was played by the same actress (it was) but bc everything that was happening seemed not quite real. like a dream. i loved that..

so ok. its p clear from the beginning that something is p weird (supernatural weird) abt this whole thing. the fl makes my suspicions grow bc shes some sort pf psychic so i though ok the killer is def some kind of hypnotist. i was wrong tho, whatever. lets skip a lot of stuff. plot twist it was the devil all along. i felt kinda silly bc im usually p good/fast understanding movies (esp this type of movies) but i was so confused by the end of this.. i was like huh.. wait what do you mean the devil is real in this story. it was rly easy to catch onto that btw i was just still expecting a psychic weirdo killer angle idk maybe i liked that idea more deep down lol? but it wasnt so my sister was like dude are you serious the devil was right there in one scene and i was like what. she went back to that scene. the devil was right there. oh ok. wait then what about the scene in which the mother shoots the dolls head why did she do that if the deal wasnt over. and what about the surviving victim why did she kill herself after the ball was out of the dolls head. oh god i almost forgot what abt the chief(?)s (no ok i literally cnt remember either his name nor job title im so sorry. yanno lees boss) did not even ONCE say smt like "oh hey my daughter has the same age n bd date than all the other daughters from the victim families. thats peculiar. lets take some measures maybe?" like forget that last part, why wasnt this even BROUGHT UP. another ridiculous thing abt this was the "birthday party" lee was invited to if thats even what you can call it.. most of the movie i was waiting for an actual party, with lots of people (STAKES, yknow?) but lee was literally the only person invited apparently?? what was up w that. also why didnt the fl shoot the dolls head at the bd party in the first place why did she wait until the dad started killing ppl. also the deal was supposed to end with the 13th victim i think so why did the mother say she will keep killing. me & my sister concluded well idk lets sleep on it i guess. yeah.

overall enjoyable and interesting, but i feel like the plot-twist reveal and the ending were a bit idk rushed?? like ill be quite honest i didnt feel anything abt the mother being the accomplice???? it was good in concept but was a bit lacking in execution.. like. why shud i even care.

ok! so i used to work on film sets and had friends who worked on even bigger ones than me (one of them was beauty and the beast with emma watson, i never made it that big but there are some good stories lmao).

and i was in art dept crew on set, props, and fell for one of the gaffers (lighting). so its not a showmance where the actors are playing and falling in love, but that did happen too! i didnt actually know the talent that well cos i mainly stuck with crew and had little contact with the talent despite being literally with them on set for 14 hours a day. you can just relate more to people in jobs like you, and youre not restricted access to them like you are for the cast.

anyway it didnt end well for me because the guy i liked went for a girl in the production office instead. kinda broke me tbh... its a very intense environment and it felt like i had known him for so much longer than i had, a mix of the intense workday plus being in it together creating this story, its just a really unique work environment. seeing the film in a theatre a year later was even more surreal, sort of like revisiting a dream. the places looked familiar but not, because i had spent all my time behind the scenes, seeing it all from a different angle than was presented on screen. i can only imagine how trippy it is to be an actor seeing yourself.

i left the industry in the end because it wasnt working out for me in terms of effort -> reward ratio. also people who work in film, not all but many, are unusual people. often thrillseekers who thrive on this antisocial hours, high intensity lifestyle. it's a closed little world and so removed from the 9 to 5 of everyday life.

Totally absorbed in all of this - thank you for sharing your story!! Fascinated forever by the dynamics of the film industry. I feel like in another life if I took a different path on a do-over, man I think I would have wanted to try to be an actor. I'm so starry eyed about everything and maybe it's for the best that wasn't something on my radar back in the day, but it's just so cool learning about the process and little insights in the complicated world behind the scenes.

Your last part makes a lot of sense though, that seems an insanely accurate read for the industry as a whole.

Rating the Hermits based on how much they paid attention to Grian punching the floor

I've become minorly obsessed with the way Grian decided to break the stone blocks at the beginning of the first episode of the season, so here's me trying desperately to see what the everliving fuck he's doing. There's no specific order to this because only the wind can tell which hermit I'm gonna watch next.

uh, also, this post is gonna get long sorry, I did my best to watch every hermit BUT i might have missed some, don't @ me im doing this for fun.

also pls dont let this flop this took ENTIRELY too long

Grian: just as incomprehensibly as he broke the blocks, he incomprehensibly failed to include footage of himself doing so, despite there being quite a bit of arguably important dialogue during that time. 0/10

Cleo: cleo passes over grian multiple times before staring at him for a few seconds as he breaks a block. she seems quietly confused, but moves on. bonus points because he entered the frame a couple times afterward and its REALLY funny to see him breaking the block in the background. 9/10, off to a good start

Tango: camera angles made it easy to see every hermit, i had a great view of grian the entire time. 8/10 loved the birds-eye view

Mumbo: didn't show the intro clip at all, nor did I see him look at Grian in other people's povs. 0/10 i expected better of you mumbo

Iskall: cut a lot of the intro out, stared a mountains a lot, but didn't look at grian. 1/10 at least he showed the intro

Impulse: you can see grian a couple times before he breaks the blocks, as well as a clear shot of him at 1:57 of him in the actual act. 3/10 we got to see him but impulse didn't take note of his odd behavior whatsoever

Scar*: He's the first one to log into the server, but we dont see much of grian until the very end of the reunion clip. However, we do get a closer look at grian than we did with impulse, with a much clearer view. unfortunately, cleo does get in the way, but its very possible that scar noticed what grian was doing. 6/10* he gets extra points for all those times grian killed him + his intro made me laugh

Doc: doc passes over grian quite a few times, even gets close to him at one point. its possible that he noticed his strange activity but simply didnt care. 5/10 its okay i guess

False: we get a good several seconds of grian in the corner of the frame, and at the end of the clip false moves like she's about to inspect what grian is doing. 7/10 im hopeful but we can't prove if she took note of it

Gem: again, we have an overhead camera view of all the hermits! Grian is a bit far away and it's very short, but we have a clear view of him! 6/10

Bdubs: we see grian for about .2 seconds. 2/10 (he gets an extra point because he included a sneeze as a transition in his video, and that is just as, if not more, confusing and incomprehensible as what grian was doing.)

Joe: Joe seems to by trying to look everywhere BUT grian. we see him a grand total of twice. 1/10

Pearl: YESSS!!!!! not only do we see grian multiple times, but Pearl baffedly ZOOMS IN on our dear Grian, providing us a clear view of his actions and highlighting how strange it is!!! 10/10, i have NO complaints

Cub: we get a good view of grian but not while he's breaking blocks. 1/10 he tried

Zedaph: didnt show the intro clip, which is a shame. I think he would've liked to study grian. 0/10

Xisuma: we can see grian breaking blocks for a good few seconds, i have more to say but ill save it till the end. 4/10 with a caveat

Keralis: It looks like those big eyes of his have come in handy!!! we get a delightful view of grian breaking the blocks, though it seems he didn't think to make a note of it. 8/10 im pleasantly surprised

TFC: we. we didn't see anything of grian. 1/10 he gets a point bc he at least showed the intro

Beef: we get a decently close shot of grian breaking the stone for about .5 seconds. Beef pays more attention to a sheep in the forest than anyone else. 3/10 the sheep is really cute

Jevin: Jevin is actually right behind grian as he breaks his first block!! we get a front-row view of grian for a good chunk of time, but jevin either doesn't notice or doesnt care about what he's doing. 8/10

xB: We see grian break a block, as well as him working on his next one a couple other times! 6/10 pretty decent

Wels: didnt show the intro 0/10

Stress: stress is standing farther back to see all of the hermits, so we can see grian in the back jumping up and down and punching the ground. its very cute. also we see a really quick shot of grian closer up at the end of the intro. 5/10 it gave me much joy to see grian hopping up and down

Aaaaand thats it! that's all the hermits who have uploaded season 9 videos!! but wait! I mentioned that xismua had a caveat!! I put asterisks on scar's score!! What was that all about??

Well, as I was watching Xisuma's video, staring at grian like a chameleon would at a fly, I noticed someone come over and investigate Grian closer. Who was it, you ask? Well, as you mightve guessed, it was none other than our beloved Mr. Goodtimes!! But that's not all-- Scar, at 2:42, JOINED Grian in punching the ground! I tried to take a screenshot but there were many nametags in the way. this was the best shot i could get

I dont know why xisuma is the only hermit who managed to even get a glimpse of scar joining in-- though keralis kiiinda sees scar at 1:20 of his video-- but honestly, after the ungodly amount of time it took to find and document all this, finding out that scar joined in has made my entire day better ajdnfg

a/n: lmfao this is a goofy lil one shot bc of my newfound love for obanai, sorry about the capitalization… again.. i hope you enjoy anyways though :) i got tired and like gave up towards the end lmfao don’t mind the cringe

the fight was tough, you were covered in sweat and blood and so was your lover obanai.

you were assigned this mission to defeat a small group of demons who were attacking villages. it was unusual because demons usually don’t show up in groups, so you had a bad feeling about the mission before the two of you even departed. the problem was that the group of demons was much more numerous than what you had been told. and much stronger too.

it felt like you had been fighting for hours, even between the two of you, the amount of demons was overwhelming, especially because their strength was more than a match for your own. all the jumping around and dodging blows from almost every angle was tiring beyond belief.

the demons slashed with their claws leaving a gash on your forearm that would need to be treated and wrapped after the battle. they were fast too, but you and obanai were faster. unleashing your breathing techniques and decapitating the demons one by one you finished the fight.

just after the last demon had been decapitated you looked around to see the battleground shredded, and your arm still bleeding. then your gaze shifted to something on the ground. it was obanai’s bandages, shredded by the sharp claws of those demons.

you didnt see it, but a particular scratch from a demon had ripped the bandages from his face and left a small vertical cut on his left cheek.

he was turned away from you, head angled at the ground but kaburamaru was looking at you.

“obanai…” you said shakily. “i’ll close my eyes, you can come and use my haori to wrap around your face an-“ you were cut off by obanais smooth voice.

“y/n,” he started, “thank you for being so considerate, but it’s okay. i’ve been meaning to show you for a long time, I just didn’t know when to.”

“i just know it’s hard for you and , so seriously you can cover your face with my-“ then, he turned around “haori…” the last word came out slowly as you took in the features of the lower half of his face.

His cheeks each had a rough scar stretching out from the corners of his mouth to a little above the corner of jaw bone.

you started walking towards him slowly, your gaze never once shifting from his face. you walked until you stood right in front of him, only inches apart. you pulled him into a warm embrace, hugging him tight, admiring his courage to show you what he’s hidden for so long.

you pulled away and gazed softly at him some more now that you were closer.

“i know it’s hideous and i just hope that you won’t leave m-“ he began, but now it was his turn to get cut off.

cupping his face and looking deep into his eyes, you tilted his head to the left and planted a soft, almost angelic kiss onto his scar. a hint of shock adorning his features. then you did the same to the other side, placing a sweet kiss onto the scar on that side. then you centered his face and directly kissed his lips for the first time.

His body froze and tensed up before melting into your touch.

you had kissed him over his bandages many times, but nothing could compare to the one the two of you shared right now. it was soft and sweet, but deep and meaningful. you could taste the faint hint of iron from the blood that had dripped onto his lip, from the scratch on his cheek. and you felt the warmth of his breath radiate onto you.

obanai felt like he was in heaven. a soft pink tint had found its way onto his face when he felt your soft lips on his. you filled the kiss with so much love and made him feel so wanted. you were holding his face like it was the most precious thing to exist and kissing him like the world depended on it.

when you pulled away, his eyes were half lidded, like he was processing what had just happened.

you whispered, “obanai, you’re beautiful”

you meant him? no, you must be hallucinating. he could never be beautiful. Not with the dirty blood that flowed through his veins and the ugly scars that stretched outwards from the edges of his mouth.

“please don’t lie like that y/n,” he said

“Its not a lie if its true.” Reaching up to twirl a strand of his raven hair between your fingers.

“But y/n, they’re horrendous, how could you call me beautiful when I look like this?”

You sighed, “I just wish you could see yourself through my eyes,” you said, still peering into his heterochromia eyes, “because this you could, then you would see perfection.”

You traced your thumbs lightly over the scars on his cheeks while you leaned in once more. you kissed him again. This time with even more passion and love, though he didn’t think that was possible. your soft lips dancing with his own sent him into pure bliss.

his brows were furrowed, trying his best to imbue just as much love and passion as you. And trying not pass out on the spot from the feeling of falling in love with you all over again.

When you pulled away he asked, “Y/n,.. why?” confused on how you had chosen him instead of another. He was sure you could make anyone fall for you, so why him? “Why choose me.. over anyone else?”

You simply placed your arms around his neck and pressed your body up against his to hug him a second time.

“Because I love you, obanai.” You whispered into his ear.

He was bewildered, it was the first time you had ever said that to him. The way those words fell from your mouth filled him with even more adoration for you.

“I love you as well, y/n.” He said softly, hugging you back.

The two of you stayed like that for a while, embraced in each other’s arms, simply basking in each other’s presence, because, in the end, that was all you wanted.
