#linktober #linktober 2024 #the legend of zelda #wind waker #ocarina of time #loz #loz ww #loz oot #link #josh art tag #had a lot of fun with this one despite how annoying it was to draw #oot link was at a difficult angle and i also just could not shade this for the life of me. restarted the shading like 3 times #i think im reaching that point in the cycle i typically go thru with my artstylr where ive grown tired of my shading style #to the point that i forget how to do it and it never quite looks right #so if my next post features changes to my artstyle thats why lol #but i enjoyed making this despite that cuz i like the ideas behind it!#i normally wouldve redesigned ww!link's outfit but i purposefully drew it accurately #to highlight how its more like a costume. cuz thats kinda what it was! and its modeled after the hero of times clothes #but is pretty innacurate. which i think is cool.. shows how much time has passed and how the view of the hero of time has warped #so i also purposefully made oot link wearing my redesigned outfit for him (even if you cant see much of it at this angle)#to further emphasize how ww!link's outfit is not only essentially a costume but is also quite innacurate #i like having ww!link ditch the costume for something else to show how he stops being some kid in oot!link's shadow #and grows into a true hero of his own #hence my ww!link redesign where i put him back in the lobster shirt. but i do keep some green and something similar to the hat #to have him fit in with the other links while still being unique #look i have a lot of feelings about ww!link and oot!link #i wish zelda would do more stuff like this... i think having oot relate to wind waker makes the story more interesting #and makes ww!link more interesting! cuz he cant be the hero of time they want. but he does become the real hero they need #the oot ww tp trio is so good... and they all work great as standalone games but their connections do really add something

some headcanons i have while drawing him are semi obvious while others are bc i like it ahehahhaheha

cupid's bow lips! this was semi inspired by Mizuki Umetsu, the actor for Noritoshi in the jjk stage play! hes so. pretty. perfect guy for the role imo! i was captivated therefore my views changed.

longer hair! the thought that his bangs(? are the same length, or longer, as the rest of his hair is nice.. it also makes his inevitable haircut much more refreshing! i also just like long hair and its a fucking waste not to do whatever the i want.

thicker brows and visible eyelashes! i naturally draw thicker eyebrows because it looks pretty, but the eyelashes is so fucking canon bro. dont even fight me on this, you'll lose. i read a fic about Noritoshi where it said he took good care of himself and his appearance inspired jealousy. that fucked me up man, so now i draw him as beautiful as i can.

monolids! I've looked through the manga and i think its highly implied that Noritoshi has monolids? yk those lines in between the eye and eyebrow, he doesnt have them in the manga. i thought it was because of the expressions he had, but no. the others have them, except geto! so geto also having monolids is so fr in my head. i like that feature abt him.

loose hairs! the hairs that i draw on his face. they make him look so cute and a bit more relaxed. he's not trying to be perfect nor have a single strand out of place. he's just a bit more at ease... though if there's something important he has to go through, he sharpens up. becomes.. stiffer?

I UNINTENTIONALLY MADE HIS CHEST LOOK A BIT BIGGER IN MY STYLE AND I WANT TO APOLOGIZE, BUT I'D BE A LIAR. DOES THIS COUNT AS A HEADCANON??? I JUST THINK... SINCE. YK. HES AN ARCHER. spent the day with my sickass friend mango that's going to Boston in two days, hanging out while he got his tattoo, and just opened the gift he gave me

Bro gave me a little statue of Haephestus alongside a message saying he's the patron of sculptors and artists and he got a lot of these little statuettes in Greece and he was giving some away to his fav profs and I am going to Cry

I am now double glad I made him sit down in my dorm and let me make him some signposts to take to Boston with him [starting with Boston, also adding in the city we both share together and Delos in Greece], so he has something to take with him. Shoutout mango

And in the middle of writing this post I ran back down to take custody of his fav Hiking Stick which I will now keep forever, and I gave him a seashell off my bracelet that I got in Sanibel a long time ago. He's gonna do such a good job in Boston and I am weeping
