A Jealous Hokage IX

Pairing: Kakashi x F!Reader x Obito
Summary: After pushing him away for a week, you start to allow Kakashi back in. His desperation causes things to heat up as you come to the end of your S Rank intel project.
Warnings: NSFW, back door stimulation, squirting, unprotected penetration, hair pulling, light choking.
Word Count: 3.6k
Part 8 New here? Check out Part 1
Sunlight spills into the hall splashing through your office doorway and falls onto your resting eyes. A groggy hand rubs against your lids as you sit up and lift the blanket off your sleepy body.
Time to get back to it.
You head to the locker room to brush your teeth and hair. You quickly rinse your nooks and crannies before dressing in a spare outfit you kept in your office for days like this. You spray perfume on your clothes and head back to your office to pick up where you left off.
Slowly shinobi filter into the building, eyes always lingering as they walk past your office door. Eventually you grab your mug and head to the break room hoping to make some tea and run into Obito.
You feel a wave of relief wash over you when you see him sitting at the table minding his own business.
“Good Morning!”
“‘Morning.”
“What’s with the long face?”
“Nothing.”
“Why didn’t you come visit yesterday? I was looking for you.”
“Why? It’s not like you need me anymore.”
“What?”
“You have your boyfriend to help you.”
“What? Oh, you talking about what happened in the lunchroom?”
Obito stands up to leave. As he walks out he stops next to you and growls in your ear, “If you don’t want people slut shaming you, then make sure no one can hear your moans down the hall.”
He makes to keep leaving when you grab his arm.
He stops and turns to you, eyes full of anger.
You look back at him with deep sadness.
“Obito…”
You see his anger turn to hurt before he rips his arm from your grasp and storms away.
You have been so selfish recently. Too lost in your own emotions to notice the damage you were doing to him. Not even comprehending how he might feel if, after all of this, you don’t choose him.
If you were going to train for the field, you were going to stick to your cousin’s team and not burden Obito. It wasn’t fair to him. You grab your tea and walk back to find a happy Shiho waiting for you in your office.
“Good Morning!”
“Good Morning, Shiho.” you reply with a little less enthusiasm
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m a bad person.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“I saw Obito this morning.” You let out a deep sigh allowing the guilt to fill you.
What did you do?”
“I slept with Kakashi yesterday.”
“You what?!”
“I was just so mad, Jozie and Aoto mouthed off at me and then Kakashi put them in their place, I got all confused and when I went to confront him-”
“You slept with him.”
“Kinda”
“I take it Obito found out.”
“He heard us from down the hall.”
“Down the- What kind of freaky shit are you two up to?”
You give her a look of indignation
“Poor Obito, and after defending you all week.”
“Yeah.”
“Why didn’t you just sleep with him?”
“Shiho!”
“Well I mean, are you single?”
“I don’t know”
“Do you want to break up with Kakashi?”
“I don’t know”
“Do you want to be with Obito?”
“I don’t know”
“Well what do you know?!”
“Nothing! I know nothing! Okay?! I know I have a project to finish and a career to change. That’s all I know.”
Shiho gives you a look of compassion. “Please don’t change your career over this.”
You look at the ground feeling ashamed. “You weren’t there yesterday. They only leave me alone if they can’t see me.”
“Yeah” she sighs, “but it sounds like you didn’t do yourself any favors yesterday.”
You shoot her an angry look.
“What? I can’t joke about it?”
You ignore her and get back to your project. You finished everyone’s work who had neglected their assignments and were pulling the data together into a presentation. Despite all of the time setbacks of the week, you should be finished by midnight. You might even get some decent sleep before tomorrow’s briefing.
***************************************
Around midday you hear a knock at your door. You look up to see a timid Kakashi offer to walk you to the lunchroom. You cast your eyes down but accept the invite since you really didn’t want to deal with any drama when you were in such a productive headspace. You would’ve preferred Obito’s company but you couldn’t keep using his friendship like that.
You make your way downstairs and as you step into the space a hush befalls the room. Kakashi keeps his head high and places a hand around your waist while your eyes lock in on the discolored grout beneath your feet.
You hear a growl rumble from Kakashi’s chest and you look up at him. You follow his eyes to see Aoto leering at you. You shoot him a nasty look before pulling Kakashi towards you.
“He gives me the creeps.”
“I’m tempted to strip him of his rank.”
A small laugh escapes you.
Kakashi’s heart skips when he hears it. He made you laugh. He involuntarily pulls you into a hug, cradling your head, at the musical sound. As indignant as you felt, having him be so affectionate in public, it felt nice. It was like old times. You exhale as you sink into it, even reaching around to hug him back.
You walk together to your office and invite him to stay while he eats. He gladly accepts and pulls up a seat next to you. Easy conversation flowed between you. You fill him in on how the project is going and he offers insight into how some of that intel might impact foreign relationships. It was nice. The usual butterflies started to come back as you listened to him. His smooth voice complementing his superb intellect. It was like you never skipped a beat.
Once he finished his meal he makes his way to the door but stops at the threshold. He looks back at you, hesitating. You get up and walk over to him. He reaches down and pulls you into another embrace. When you let go he cups your cheek before giving your forehead a kiss.
You retreat back to your desk with a grin. You felt almost normal. Each time you were with Kakashi things got easier. You felt lighter. Your mind returns to its usual sharpness.
Shiho quietly observes. She begins to understand why you chose Kakashi. He was refined. An intellect like you. Plus the way his love for you dissipates from his skin, it would be hard to say no to him. It made her wonder, were you really prepared to walk away from the office and leave him behind?
You carry on, continuing your work day undisturbed. Even Shiho refrained from speaking, not wanting to disturb you while you were on a roll.
Before you even realized it, the sky was dark. You heard a light knock on the door and your eyes dart up to see Kakashi standing there with a bag in his hand. He had brought you something to eat. You smile at him.
“What, so you assumed I forgot my dinner?”
“Am I wrong?”
“You’re not.”
“And now you know why I’m holding supper.”
You can’t help the grin that tugs at your lips as he enters, placing the bag down in front of you. He steals your officemate’s chair from her desk and brings it next to yours.
“Are you doing okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Is anyone giving you a hard time?”
“Do you really want to know?”
He looks down. “Not really. I’m just worried.”
You reach out and put your hand on his knee. You were struggling with conflicting emotions. You were ready to forgive him but you were still mad. You didn’t want him to feel guilty but you wanted to know just how miserable he made you. You finally felt okay but you were still mourning the loss of your promotion. Mostly though, you just wanted to go back to how it was.
You weren’t ready to express any of that though. Instead in a delicate voice, you whisper,
“Thank you, Kashi.”
He looked up at you, face strained, mind racked with guilt from the events of this week. “Thank you? Why the hell would you thank me?”
“For dinner.” you say firmly
He swallowed, Adam's apple bobbing as he pushed down the heavy emotions that had bubbled to the surface. You give his knee a squeeze and begin to eat, feeling content with him by your side. Conversation flows just like it did earlier, easy and entertaining. When you were finished he looked around the room as if searching for an excuse to stay.
“I could use some help if you have the time.”
“You sure?”
“I mean, you kinda owe me.”
He didn’t like the joke, but he was happy you made one. Gladly, he placed the trash in a can before waiting for your direction. The one thing you loved about Kakashi is that his work was always immaculate. He was your favorite person to collaborate with. Tidy, organized, intelligent, and always did things to completion. You didn’t have to waste time walking him through what you wanted. You say a general idea and he gives you exactly what you were looking for as if reading your mind. With his excellent workmanship, the two of you finished your S Rank project in just three hours.
You look at him with immense gratitude. Eyes bright, smile sincere, wordlessly thanking him for coming to your rescue. It was a look he couldn’t resist. He yanked down his mask and lunged at you. Your hands went up to meet his face. The two of you stumbling backwards until you were up against the wall. He lifted your leg and you wrapped it around his waist. He began grinding up against you, unable to control himself when he felt the heat coming from between your legs.
You moaned into his mouth feeling passion coursing through your veins. What was it about him that drove you wild? Your fingers grip him, pulling him down by the neck. He pushes himself into you.
He needs you. The idea of losing you destroys him. When your hands explore his skin it burns. When you moan into his mouth he feels his soul set ablaze. When your hands pull his hair he feels his balls tighten. You were his soul mate. He felt it in every fiber of his being. A lifetime of misery was worth it cause it led him to you. Your sweet little heart, your brilliant mind, your breathtaking lips, everything about you is perfect. He is overrun by emotion and wants to ruin you right here and now.
“Off”
“What?” you breathe between kisses.
“All of it, off. Now.”
You don’t need to be told twice. You begin stripping yourself as he does the same. He picks you up and slams you into the wall. Pinning you there as you relent to his strength. You lock your ankles behind him and he can feel arousal begin to leak out of you. He wastes no time sinking his fat aching cock into your entrance. You give a sharp inhale as he intrudes into you. Your puppy eyes thank him for stretching you so.
The look makes him melt. He felt like he couldn’t breathe if his lips weren’t touching yours. He leans into your mouth once more as he begins thrusting up into you. The thrusts were slow and sharp. He pushed into you up to the hilt, knocking your breath out of your lungs each time. The lost air expels into his mouth. He grunts with greed, feeling his mind go blank while you wrap around him.
Slowly he disconnects with reality. He feels himself going feral. His fingers dig into you as his kisses become sloppy. His snaps up into your stretchy cunt grow in speed. The familiar growl swelling in his chest. You felt your earlier butterflies soar as Kakashi spiraled out of control.
His hips buried into you while he removes you from the wall. Hands holding you by your fleshy backside lifting you up and down on his length before dropping you on your desk. You let out a small moan on impact. It only served to rile him up more. He didn’t just want you to moan. His clouded mind wanted you to scream. He grabbed your shoulders and railed into you as hard as he could, driving himself deep. Satisfied grunts are rhythmically pushed out of you.
He switched his grip. One hand bearing down on your throat, the other massaging the little bundle of nerves between your legs. You constrict around him, your walls pulling precum out of his swollen tip.
“That’s it Angel, milk me. Work for my seed.”
You let out a whine as he picks up the pace. Lustful blood pumping through him as he prepares you for his load. But not yet. He needed you to drive you as crazy as you drove him. Your legs twitch around him. You’re falling over the edge and instead of slowing down and letting you have your moment, he selfishly keeps going. You begin screaming, “s’too much Kash!” You volley between screams and cries. He feels his thighs tighten at your struggle. It’s exactly what the wolf wants.
He flips you onto your side, lifting one of your legs to rest by his neck. The other smacking into his muscular legs, your calf grazing his robust buttocks. He spreads you open. Your head is thrown back; you’re overwhelmed by his assault into you. Your spine bows backwards as you are unable to process the stimulation taking over your body.
“Fuckin love this perfect fuckin body!” he say, words mingling with the rhythmic slapping sounds.
As if your back broke you suddenly snap forward, core tight, eyes scrunched, your hands shot up to reach for him. The intensity becomes more than you could handle.
“Oh shit, Kashi.”
You squeal trying to take it. You start thrashing beneath him, nails digging in, starting to draw blood. Animalistic grunts emit from him. Thrusts driving deep into your abdomen. Just as you can’t handle anymore you release with a shower. Kakashi is thrilled as his arm is soaked by your spray.
“That’s it, cum for me Angel” it came out as a greedy rasp
Your eyes are screwed shut and you reply through gritted teeth, “Yes my Lord!”
His chest swells with pride as you call him by his title. You always know just what to say. He pulls you up to kiss you feverishly. It was wet and sloppy, mouths attacking each other. He trails kisses down your cheek and across your jaw before flipping you over.
He bends you across the desk, spreading your cheeks. He sees your puckered rear and can’t resist the urge to lick his pinky before sinking it in. He fishes for your sweet spot.
When you begin mewling, he strokes. You feel breathless from his pleasurable torture. He rubs his length along your juicy folds before reentering causing a guttural groan to fall past your lips.
“Thank you my Lord.” He begins stroking into you “Oh gods thank you!”
He groans at your praise, withdrawing from your back door and gripping your hips tight. He pushes into you causing your thighs to hit against the desk and aggravate the bruises he left on you yesterday. Your body craves the abuse. Your fingers futilely grasp at the cold desktop. There’s nothing to steady yourself as he shakes your body with his hips.
Seeing your struggle, he grabs your arms, pulls them behind you, and restrains you by your elbows, forcing your back into a deep arch. You give an exhausted whine as he finds a new way to torture your body with his skillful strokes.
“I’m going to remind you why you want this.” he snarls. Lost in animalistic lust
All you can do is gasp and drool as he hammers away.
“I’m going to shred up this pretty pussy of yours.”
“Yes, yes, yes, yes” You chant for him.
He has you wound so tight you feel you could explode out of your own skin. You constricted around him to the point he thought he would no longer fit and might actually rip you open. You let out a long moan calling to the entire building before you begin to hyperventilate. You turn around and look up at him. Eyes pleading to kiss him some more.
He instead grabbed a fistfull of your hair and pulled you up to his chest, your back pressing into his abs, one arm grabbing your neck, the other snakes around your waist. His primal possession over you made you putty in his arms. There was no more logic as the two of you grunted and groaned together in your office. Two bodies interconnected, making a mess of each other. If you wanted his lips so bad you would have to feel them on your neck. You mewled and reached for his hair behind you while he sucked on your skin.
“Fuck Lord Hokage” you simper, fingers threading through his silver locks.
Kakashi groans before crying out, “Angel”
Unable to deny you any longer, he pulls out of you, spinning you to face him. Both his hands cup your face as he leans in. He cherishes the kiss. You feel yourself swoon as his hand slides down your body and lifts your leg to wrap around his waist yet again, allowing him to slip back inside. You stare into each other's eyes as Kakashi strokes up into you with purpose. Eventually laying you back down on your desk. His eyes study you like the world’s most fascinating book. He can’t tear his gaze away from you, nor you from him.
His slow thrusts steadily build speed. His grunting builds with it. Pathetic little moans slip out of you as you feel yourself tip closer to the edge. Your feelings for Kakashi pushing you there. He feels your walls flutter around him and he lets himself go.
The feeling was intense. Your love for him washed over you in a crushing wave. One that left you unable to stand or breathe. Kakashi felt it too. He fell over, centimeters from your face. After attempting to catch his breath, he requests,
“Stay with me tonight.”
“What?”
“Come home with me”
“Kashi, I-I need to go to my home. I slept here last night. I need to shower and change into fresh clothes for tomorrow.”
“Then may I come home with you?”
“Kakashi…”
“Please” both of his hands cover yours.
You realized it wasn’t a request. He needed you. He had become a broken man without you. You complied with a kiss.
You would pretend for a night. For a night you would indulge yourself. For a night you would pretend everything was okay and go back to how it was. For a night you would go multiple rounds in your bed before lying in his arms. For a night you would engage in pillowtalk and let him muse about your future. You would do it all for a night.
The next day you walk to work together. Once you enter the building you make copies of all the translations, intel derived from it, implications, and various plans of action for the members of the Anbu, the elders, Kakashi, and Shikamaru.
Your mind is always so clear after spending time with Kakashi. It allowed you to return to your usual self today. You know you impressed everyone in the room during your presentation including your piece of shit team members who didn’t do their jobs. You commanded the room once more like you always did before. You could see their conflicted faces and expressions of guilt. You didn’t care though. You wouldn’t be working with them much longer. They can figure out how to do their jobs without you picking up their slack.
Tonight you will begin to train. Tomorrow Ino will join you. You give yourself six weeks. Six weeks and you would be in better shape than when you left the field the first time. You’d be ready to run away to the exciting world of missions and leave all this behind.
When you are done speaking there is an hour long discussion about what to do next. They keep you in the room so you can share your insight while everyone else on your team is dismissed. In the past this would have made you proud. You would’ve felt it was because they valued your knowledge but you knew better now. They take what they want from your mind but they don’t actually respect you.
Once the meeting is done you linger behind to speak to Kakashi. You receive several glances as you wait for the room to clear. It makes you angry and further fuels your decision.
“Lord Sixth, if you don’t mind, I’d like to request fewer projects for a while. And maybe lower class projects too.”
Kakashi assumed it was because you felt emotionally overwhelmed so he complied. “We really need your talent so I will do my best to keep you on A rank projects and use you as a consulting party for the S rank ones”
“Thank you” you say with a bow. You weren’t about to tell Kakashi your intentions. You didn’t want to give him the chance to stop you. Headed back to your office, you finish the rest of your day.
Come evening you make a beeline for home to change into your old tactical gear and hit the training grounds where you would work till nearly midnight.

It's beautiful that everyone who came to know Itachi's heart, ended up developing a sense of respect and admiration for him. Itachi never allowed anyone to see his soul and heart, always guarding it with the strongest, tallest of the walls towering everyone who dared to come close to him. He always dodged the questions aimed at him, protecting his secrets, pretending to be bad guy he was not.
His classmates at the Academy, those who saw him as a rival, began to admire him, the moment he stepped up and helped them from a bully. Tenma could be in the same lines, but he's a bit complex and Itachi never hated him. Shisui loved Itachi. He trusted Itachi more than anyone and everyone. He was one of the very few people Itachi ever opened up to. He saw the beautiful, untainted soul that Itachi was. Danzo, as much as I dislike him, respected Itachi (although I wouldn't see that a compliment, but never mind).
He never showed his soul and heart to Kakashi and Yamato. They were strictly professionals. Itachi was a comrade anyone could rely on.
Naruto and Itachi's interactions hadn't been too generous. Naruto hated Itachi, just as everyone else did. But he not only respected the Edo Itachi after finding out his truth, getting to know his heart, Edo Itachi also became one of the very few undefeated by Naruto's Talk No Jutsu. :P
How can I forget Killer Bee? Killer Bee had met Itachi for the first time, not really aware of the stigma attached to his name, but his words, his wisdom, his kindness still impressed Killer Bee.
No one can convince me that Tobi didn't respect Itachi for what he did, for all the sacrifices he made. Him telling Sasuke the truth also came from the fact that he didn't want Itachi's truth to die like that. All the words he spoke to describe Itachi, his sufferings, and pain. No, there was respect for Itachi Obito had for him. And if it wasn't for Obito, we'd never have found out Itachi's truth at all.
Kisame. Their bonding is one of the best in the series, and the best in the Akatsuki. They understood each other, and even if there was always a thick layer of mystery and unsaid truths between them, Kisame was one of the very few people Itachi genuinely respected and that was reciprocated as well. So much so, that when Kisame died, his last thought was about Itachi and his words. I have no doubt that Kisame also understood Itachi loved Sasuke. But since he didn't deem it his business to interfere in his life, Kisame never brought it up. Plus, when they go to capture the four tails, Kisame offers to do the main job - fighting and capturing the man. Most definitely because he knew Itachi was physically weak at this point and his body (and his eyes if he used his MS) couldn't handle it because of his illness.
Then comes Sasuke. The one and only person who had seen itachi as the best and the worst person. The one person who wasn't supposed to forgive Itachi. The one person who loved and hated him the most. The one person who knew Itachi the best, whose love survived the most treacherous of the hatred. Sasuke knew Itachi inside out. His feelings, his grief, his guilt, his sufferings. Their relationship is the most intimate one, obviously. And it's mutual love. But no one has seen Itachi's love, his soul, all the pain in his heart in its rawest form as Sasuke did. It's no wonder Sasuke loves Itachi the way he does.
Itachi deserves every bit of love, even if it's from a handful of people. On that note, I wish him and Madara interacted too.

What if Sakumo had lived and how much did Kakashi's life change after Minato became Hokage?
[Part 5]
"Did you want to see me, Hokage-sama?" - Kakashi silently entered the office and quietly closed the door behind him.
Minato looked away from the documents and looked at the teenager.
"Yes, thank you for coming so quickly", - Minato put the folders aside and motioned for Kakashi to come closer. - "I need to discuss something with you."
Kakashi nodded and involuntarily straightened his back.
"I want to give Obito the rank of jonin", - said Minato.
"He will be overjoyed", - Hatake grinned, imagining his friend’s face.
"Obito has been working hard lately. I think he fully deserves it", -Minato bound his fingers and put his chin on them. - "There is something else."
Kakashi silently waited for the continuation. He noticed traces of fatigue on the Fourth Hokage's face. The work was not kind to him at all.
"I want Obito to lead a new team of three", - Minato broke the silence. - "And I also want you to join the ANBU and become the captain of my personal guard."
Fourteen year old teenager froze in one place, stunned.
"New team?" - the teenager frowned in confusion.
"The three of you have done well on missions under your leadership, Kakashi. But if Obito plans to become Hokage in the future, he needs to gain experience in leadership."
"Do you want me to join ANBU?"
Minato sighed heavily and closed his eyes for a few seconds.
"I understand that I've been putting too much on you all this time. I left you as captain in my place. You couldn't help but feel the weight of responsibility. But now I ask you for more. Many in the village believe that I am unworthy of the title of Hokage. With you as my right hand, I would feel much more stable. I need you in ANBU, Kakashi."
Kakashi covered the distance and stopped in front of the guy. Minato looked up at him with tired eyes. Kakashi tried to give his face a determined and at the same time calming expression.
"I will always be on your side, sensei", - the teenager got down on one knee. - "And I am honored to be your right hand."
"Thank you, Kakashi", - Minato exhaled with noticeable relief and smiled. - "Now, won’t you run after Obito?"
After Kakashi found Obito and brought him to the Hokage's office, dusk began to fall on the village. The teenager headed towards the house. All the way he thought about Minato's words.
"I’m home", - he said automatically, closing the front door behind him.
The delicious smell of food reminded him that in today's chaos he had missed lunch. Sakumo's cooking skills improved a lot after he took several lessons from Duy. But despite his hunger, Kakashi barely touched his dinner.
"You’re too thoughtful today", - the teenager heard his father’s voice. - "Something happened?"
"Minato sensei is disbanding our team", - no matter how hard Kakashi tried, he could not hide the bitterness in his voice. - "He wants Obito to become captain of another team, and for me to join ANBU."
"ANBU?" - Sakumo put down his chopsticks and bound his fingers. - "Minato wants you by his side."
Kakashi nodded.
"What's bothering you?"
"I…" - the teenager sighed heavily. - "I don’t want our team to disband."
Kakashi looked away. Sakumo pursed his lips.
"We worked well together", - the teenager continued. - "And I’m used to always being with them. I'm used to the fact that I'm nearby and can always protect them. And now I will work alone, while they will be in a team with people they don’t know. I… worry about them."
"It’s completely normal to worry about your friends, Kakashi," - Sakumo said slowly. - "You worry about them and want to protect them. But, unfortunately, you won't be able to always be there for them."
"I know", - Kakashi answered barely audibly. - "I’m just afraid that something might happen to them when I’m not around."
"I'm sure Obito and Rin can take care of themselves. They may be just as confused as you right now. You need to talk to them and give them confidence. You're a great friend, Kakashi."
Kakashi winced and looked up at his father.
"Do you have friends, father?"
"Don’t worry about me, Pup", - Sakumo smiled at his son. - "I have one and it’s quite enough. Finish your dinner before it gets cold."
Kakashi nodded and picked up his chopsticks.
"Thank you, father."
The next morning, Kakashi stood in Minato's office in full ANBU uniform.
"Kakashi, please take off your mask", - Minato asked. - "I have great news. You are the first person to know about this."
Kakashi nodded seriously.
"Kushina is pregnant," - Minato said quickly and smiled widely.
"Congratulations!" - Kakashi felt himself smiling back.
"Thank you", - the guy sincerely thanked. - "I have a first mission for you. I want you to guard Kushina throughout her pregnancy."
Kakashi froze in shock. Of all the people in the village, Minato decided to give this mission to him - to protect the life and health of Kushina and the unborn child. Emotions quickly changed on Kakashi's face. He still hasn’t answered anything, trying to put the information in his head.
"Kakashi", - Minato’s soft voice brought him out of his thoughts. - "There is no person in this village whom I trust more than you."
The teenager held his breath and bowed deeply.
"I won't let you down, nii-san!"
"I believe you," - Minato smiled at the usual address; it seems that Kakashi didn’t even notice how he called him big brother. - "Do you know when your uncle is coming back?"
"No", - the teenager shook his head. - "I can send Pakkun to him."
"I will be very grateful to you. I want to tell Jiraiya sensei this news as soon as possible. I don't have much to do today and I'm already heading home, so you can start your mission tomorrow. In the meantime, rest."
Kakashi nodded goodbye and left the Hokage's office. He headed to the nearest training ground and called Pakkun. Having conveyed the message to Ninken, Kakashi looked after him thoughtfully.
"Rival!" - he heard a loud voice behind him.
A few seconds later, Guy materialized opposite him.
"You look somehow different", - Guy carefully examined the teenager from head to toe.
"Minato sensei appointed me to ANBU", - Kakashi nervously moved his shoulder, he was still not used to his new form.
"Cool!" - Guy threw one fist up. - "You never cease to amaze me, Rival!"
Kakashi felt his cheeks turn slightly pink at the seemingly simple compliment.
"Will you sit down?" - Kakashi patted the ground next to him, Guy immediately sat down. - "I have great news."
"Anything even cooler than your promotion?" - the teenager was sincerely surprised.
Kakashi nodded.
"Kushina-san is pregnant."
Guy opened his eyes in surprise.
"Congratulations, Kakashi!" - he exclaimed loudly and hugged a teenager in his arms.
"Are you congratulating me? Why?" - Kakashi said barely audibly, trying to get out of the suffocating embrace.
"What do you mean why?" - Guy pushed the gasping teenager away from him and looked carefully into his eyes. - "Your little sister will be born soon! Or little brother!"
"Little brother?" - Kakashi asked in bewilderment in a hoarse voice.
"Or little sister", - Guy added in a serious tone, and then smiled brightly. - "You will become an older brother!"
Kakashi blinked in shock.
"I…"
"I can already imagine you with a little baby in your arms", - Guy sighed dreamily, still not letting go of the teenager’s shoulders.
Kakashi remained silent, ignoring Guy's passionate monologue. Too many events happened in these two days.
***
Kakashi walked quickly towards the Hatake family residence. Minato returned home a little earlier and let him go, knowing that today all the teenagers were going to celebrate Obito's birthday.
"Kakashi!" - a loud voice came from behind the teenager.
Kakashi skidded to a halt and looked around.
"Do you have a minute?"
"You know that we are a little late for your birthday, right?" - Hatake asked, raising one eyebrow up questioningly.
Obito ruffled his hair in embarrassment and laughed awkwardly.
"Something happened?" - Kakashi immediately tensed.
"No!" - Obito shook his head negatively and put his hands in front of him. - "I just... wanted to talk to you."
"Okay", - Kakashi narrowed his eyes skeptically. - "About what?"
"Well, you know", - Obito’s eyes nervously darted around. - "You are now in ANBU, I was given a different team, and Rin decided to stay to work at the hospital. I... now I will spend less and less time in the village. Although I would like to stay here longer..."
Kakashi sighed tiredly.
"Get to the point."
Obito flinched when he heard Kakashi's sharp, commanding voice.
"I know that Rin is in love with you", - he said suddenly. - "And I know that you like her too. Now you will spend more and more time together while I am somewhere far away on missions..."
As Obito continued to speak, Kakashi noticed a flash of green color out of the corner of his eye. Hatake swore quietly and frowned.
"Obito, stop, shut up", - he interrupted his friend’s monologue. - "I don't like Rin. And she's not in love with me."
Obito froze, stunned.
"Just ask her out, idiot!" - Kakashi finally said before disappearing into thin air, leaving his discouraged friend alone.
Kakashi landed silently on a tree branch. As he had expected, Guy was training at his favorite training ground. He practiced his blows with a completely unreadable expression on his face. Sighing heavily, Kakashi jumped to the ground.
"Yo."
Guy flinched and put too much force into the blow, breaking the wooden post. Kakashi swallowed. Guy stood still for a moment, then turned to him, a broad smile shining on his face.
"Rival! Have you come to challenge me?" - the teenager exclaimed too loudly. - "What is it this time? Rock climbing? Arm wrestling? Or maybe…"
"You heard everything", - Kakashi interrupted him.
Guy's smile faltered.
"Yes", - the teenager lowered his eyes to the ground and shrugged his shoulders embarrassedly. - "Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I was just passing by."
Kakashi took a step forward when Guy immediately took a step back.
"In any case, even though I had no right to overhear a conversation about your personal life, this is still great news!"
Kakashi frowned. He tried to catch Guy's eye, but he stubbornly did not look at him.
"You... both of you deserve to be happy. I..." - Guy paused, and then added in a muffled voice. - "Happy for you."
"It’s not like that," - Kakashi said quickly. - "I don't like Rin."
He immediately felt a prick of shame. This is the second time this evening he has uttered these words. He really liked Rin, but never in a romantic way. He always treated her like a sister.
"And Rin was never really in love with me", - he continued. - "In fact, she has been liking Obito for some time, and this idiot can not understand it. They are even worse than Asuma and Kurenai. Those two don’t announce their relationship, but at least they confess to each other, and these two will be beating around the bush until the end of time."
Guy remained silent, which made Kakashi very nervous.
"So, you don't like Rin?"
"No", - Kakashi shook his head to be convincing. - "Actually, I..."
"There you are!" - they heard an exclamation and turned towards the voice. - "Everyone was already tired of waiting for you and sent me on a search."
Genma leaned his shoulder against the tree and cast a lazy glance at them.
"How long will you stand here? We’re late for the party."
Guy shrugged and stretched his lips into a smile.
"It's not good to keep friends waiting."
Kakashi was still trying to catch his eye, but the teenager had already walked towards Genma. Hatake sighed heavily and followed him. Guy noticeably took the lead, while Kakashi and Genma walked leisurely behind.
"Interrupted some important conversation?" - asked Genma, the senbon clutched in his teeth flashed brightly in the moonlight.
Kakashi chuckled.
"Don't pretend like you didn't hear anything."
Genma smirked at the edge of his lips. They continued walking in silence until they reached the cafe. The loud voices of their friends could be heard from the establishment.
"If you break his heart, I’ll break your face", - Genma drawled slowly, making Kakashi freeze at the entrance.
"You know that this will never happen", - Kakashi gave him a serious look.
Genma shrugged. There was a barely hidden worry in his dark eyes.
"I know, but I still have to warn you. I am his best friend. And I will protect him from everyone. Even from you."
Kakashi nodded silently and entered the cafe, still feeling Shiranui's gaze on his back.

Hey!
I don’t know if you already talked about it, but I have a question about our favorite copy-nin (it’s about his dad’s suicide so if that’s too sensitive topic for you, please drop it)
I was wondering, do you think he hated him because of what he’s done? That he abandoned him and left completely alone in dangerous world?
Also, considering Kakashi’s later depression. Do you think that he would may want to end his life, if not the fact that he hated this and thought about it as a cowardice because of his dad?
It was just going around my head, and I don’t know anyone who knows his character better 😊
Thank you for the ask
Read the answer under the cut 👇
Even tho kid Kakashi always acted as if he was mad at Sakumo because he failed the mission and broke the rules but in reality all of that anger was because Sakumo suffered so much because of it to the point that he killed himself, it was more for Sakumo's sake than Kakashi himself and we see that when Kakashi and Sakumo meet again after Kakashi's death when Kakashi tells him this
The anger we hear in Kakashi's voice when he says "I felt so bitter" and his fist clinging so hard like this shows that thinking about his father's suffering still hurts him even after all of those years so his fixation on following the rules at the time was a result of him believing that if his dad followed the rules he would have stayed the legend that everyone loved, he wouldn't have suffered and would've stayed alive and we see that in his response to Obito here too
People who don't obey the rules suffer and die and this is why he was trying to get his team to follow the rules as well because as much as he tried to hide this but he actually cared about his team so much and this is why having them follow the rules is so important to him because he doesn't want them to suffer like his dad and have the same fate as him either.
As for Kakashi's depression and why he never thought about ending his life, him hating this because it's what Sakumo did was one thing but there's also another reason which is that Obito sacrificed his life so that Kakashi can live so he would never throw away and disrespect Obito's sacrifice like this, plus, Obito gave him his Sharingan because he wanted to see the future with Kakashi being his eye, so him killing himself would mean that he would kill Obito too all over again, however dying in the battlefield tho while protecting his ppl and friends is a different story, it's how Obito, Rin and Minato sensei died so it's a welcomed honorable death, it's how a Shinobi should die
Of course that was just in his Anbu days before he meets our favorite little gremlin children that makes him not interested in dying at all, not even in the battlefield.

Can we… can we talk about how underrated Kakashi's relationship with Gai is by everyone?
I start my essay by stating that I have been visiting many pages about Kakashi (biography, psychological analysis, etc.) and many of them have disappointed me by barely mentioning the relationship these two have. Kakashi, at first, didn't like Gai much for his boisterous way of being, but over time they hit it off, enough that Gai, a fairly confident person who rarely expresses any negative sentiment, confesses to Kakashi the shame he has that his father is still a genin. One would expect, with Obito not yet dead, that Kakashi would mock or belittle Gai, but instead, he, the prodigy of his generation and a cold genius, tells Gai that his father is "the coolest shinobi out there." This is incredible knowing that he was a little shit with everyone.
Changing the subject by mentioning Obito, can I also add a perspective that many people often confuse? Both boys considered themselves to be Kakashi's rivals, but for different reasons; Obito was constantly jealous and envious of his teammate's successes and even the attention he received from his crush (Rin), while Gai never felt anything like it towards Kakashi, rather seeing the boy as a personal ideal of a perfect shinobi that he wanted to achieve and surpass, without any animosity in between. Gai constantly cheered Kakashi up and always seemed happy to see him, while Obito, even though he cared for him (Kakashi), he always felt less than him, which made him very angry with his teammate.
Making a timeskip after his and Rin's death, a rather significant scene of what Gai represents for Kakashi is when he is sent on a mission by Minato to protect him in case something happens to him. Minato is absolutely right since Kakashi, in the middle of the mission, has a panic attack that causes an enemy to almost kill him, being saved by Gai who soon comforts him. What can be taken for granted is that Gai somehow managed to calm him down, surprisingly.
When Minato and Kushina die, Kakashi is left alone and unappreciated in a rush to fibally die. At this point we know that they both have a good and strong relationship apart from fighting each other, so it's no surprise when the only one who still believes there's good in Kakashi is Gai, who tries his best to help him, to the point of begging the Hokage to let him into Ambu so he could help and protect Kakashi.
In an intense mission in which Gai watches as Kakashi kills with unwavering coldness, he knows that the best option to get Kakashi out of the black hole he's stuck in is to get him out of Ambu. He is so worried about Kakashi that he constantly makes demands to get him out, to the point where the Hokage, knowing that Kakashi is an invaluable asset in Ambu and an extraordinary ninja, grants his request.
How are there people who believe that these two are just "friends"? And I'm not talking in romantic terms (not now). I'm talking about them believing they don't have "a strong connection" or that Gai is just an "old friend or close acquaintance". It's almost insulting.
Many believe that Gai is the only one who participates in the challenges and that Kakashi doesn't like them, but we know that they did more than a hundred challenges in the course of their lives. If Kakashi found them ridiculous or wanted Gai to leave him alone, he could. He was stronger than Gai, he could even disappear or manipulate him into leaving, but he accepted those challenges, he even keeps score! He likes them, he enjoys doing challenges; he is as into it as Gai.
They both have fun together no matter what. The two talks, understand each other and know each other well. They are not just "rivals" or "just friends"; Gai is a very important part of Kakashi's life, he is the one who kept him away from death (by suicide or being murdered), he is the one with whom Kakashi feels safe enough to faint from exhaustion in the face of danger (the attack of Itachi) or to guide him when he is blind. Despite his attitude towards his friend, Kakashi knows that Gai is precious to him; many times he has protected him, encouraged him or cared for him, and not just because he is a ninja comrade.
End of my essay. Talk to me if you want to continue discussing or talking about why Kakagai is so fascinating and amazing.

I just realized that for some Sasuke fans it's difficult to understand that Kakashi didn't force Sasuke to love Sakura, I don't understand why they relate everything to ships, not everything is about bringing two characters together, when Kakashi said that the only time you need a reason is when you hate someone, he said it so that Sasuke stops being selfish, not so that he starts loving her out of nowhere. I'm tired of these kind of fans saying that he's a hypocrite, a bad character or someone who never learned anything just for that moment, those fans are very annoying and toxic for no reason. And on top of that they say that Kakashi fans are the ones who always justify everything with things that are not canon and just to make him look good
I wouldn’t call Sasuke selfish. I’m of the opinion that both Kakashi and Sasuke were right in their feelings and it’s because of their trauma
Sasuke loved his family and lost it, so for him he needs a reason to open his heart to anyone and risk that pain again.
Kakashi lost his father and his friends and his sensei, but one of his biggest regrets is that he was never really close to Obito and Rin (or even Minato possibly). We see he considers them his friends, but he always kept them at an arms length and then shddenly they were gone. Because of that, he’s of the opinion that one doesn’t need a reason to love anyone because that’s just an excuse to push people away until it’s too late (as he did)
These are both very valid outlooks and obv they’re gonna clash. Neither of them are wrong.
That being said, i agree with you. Kakashi wasn’t trying to push Sakura and Sasuke together. He was vouching for Sakura who he’d seen struggling over her love for Sasuke for so long. That’s all. He wanted Sasuke to open his heart and just be kind, rather than constantly pushing Sakura away
At the end of the day, it was Sasuke’s decidion weither to love Sakura romanticlly or not, or weither to get with her. Kakashi had no hand in that. His talk with Sasuke barely affected him, so how would he suddenly have this big hand in forcing sasuke to date Sakura?
It was Sakura who pushed. She was the one who chased after Sasuke and refused to give up. She’s the only one who continued to fight for her love and decided to ‘wear Sasuke down’ (if we follow the books). Kakashi had nothing to do with that. He said his piece vouching for Sakura and moved on.
But a lot of sasuke fans (not all obv. I know people who love sasuke who don’t make it their life goal to villinize everyone who went against him for even five seconds) have decided that Kakashi is the worst person every and instead of understanding that he was trying to help, they decide to make him this manipulative dude who never cared about Sasuke
Which is the complete opposite of cannon Kakashi. Kakashi himself states he trained sasuke for that month because he saw a bit of himself in Sasuke. Not that he wanted Sasuke to be like him, but he saw a darkness he once harbored as well and he wanted to help Sasuke escape from that darkness.
Then of course, these are the exact same people who call him a ‘bootlicker’ and ‘facist’ because they clearly don’t know the actual meaning of words

Kakashi struggling to define what he feels for Sasuke I'm 😭😭😭
"His goals may have been placated for the time being, but his ruthlessness for his version of justice was still a part of him.
Kakashi had seen it a few times since the war; immediately after his release from Konoha’s holding cell during his trial, Sasuke had displayed a wicked determination to destroy all remaining Sharingan. Kakashi could do nothing but watch as the Susanoo demolished Danzo’s old headquarters, Root, way past the necessary point considering he had already burnt all of the preserved Sharingan to ashes with his Amaterasu. And then a week later Kakashi had received the shortest mission report- if it could truly be called that- he had ever witnessed. It was just two words on a rumpled piece of paper: ‘ They’re gone’ . It poorly detailed to him that Obito’s collection had been similarly annihilated.
Sasuke’s version of justice… He was still young. He pushed justice to the extremes that he was conditioned to see them as. He had extreme injustice done to him, so extreme justice should be handed out in turn. It wasn’t wrong in the literal sense, not in the world of shinobi. But he had not grown to see beyond himself yet, or that some injustices were more effectively dealt with by using less-extreme measures. In that sense, Naruto was good for him. No, it was more like they were good for each other. Naruto’s idealism needed Sasuke’s realism just as much as the opposite was true. On his own, though, Sasuke’s justice was ruthless, and he had more than displayed that Kakashi was not exempt from it."
I'm. Hm. Is it really ruthless to destroy every remaining Sharingan after witnessing Danzo's arm? While Naruto's idealism definitely needs Sasuke's realism, and vice versa, I'm still not sure that Kakashi really has a good understanding of either of his students', particularly Sasuke's, personalities? Convictions? Intentions? Those don't sound exactly right. I think the best word would be motivations.
"She would joke that she would get the best of him eventually. She never did" you just stabbed me in the heart. I forgot about this line.
"As Naruto smiled, Kakashi’s turmoil spiraled. Would this be the last time Naruto smiled at him? Always such a goofy smile, carefree, but so warm." I'M GOING TO CRY, HE LOVES HIM SO MUCH 😭
"Would this afternoon be the final straw keeping Naruto from deserting the village alongside his soulmate?" The way that this would never happen, Kakashi, how are you so close to understanding your students but still so far away
“He doesn’t like watching kids beat each other up.”
…That was something Kakashi had not expected. It did make sense in hindsight, if that were the case, why Sasuke had been so against doing the third exam at first. And then he caved after insisting that he was only going to fight Naruto. It had not seemed like something Sasuke would be sensitive to, though, with all of the blood he had seen in his life. He was certainly more than willing to shed some blood when he first took the exams."
KAKASHI I SWEAR TO GOD 😭😭
"We would like to test this presumed change of heart in a controlled way, where we will be able to quickly bring him down while he is unprepared for it, should he show his true colors.”
There are too many people who barely know Sasuke talking about him as if they do and I'm starting to get annoyed
"He is loyal to Naruto, and Naruto alone." I wonder how Naruto feels knowing that he alone has Sasuke.
While he's eagerly waiting for Friday, does he stay up at night to marvel at the fact that Sasuke is his most important person and vice versa?
I am so tenderly taken with the way that he is the only one who sees Sasuke as this vibrant, emotional, kind and ethereal creature as opposed to basically everyone else who thinks that he is ugly and cold and rotten straight down to his core.
I'm always on the verge of tears with them 😭
"Such a shame- that clan had such talented genetics!" Yeah, because that's why the genocide was such a tragedy
“Are you an idiot?”
Yes. Yes, he was."
BAHAHAHA the way you tied it up perfectly! I haven't read this chapter in such a long time wow.
Kakashi is such a mess, and I vividly remember that the first time I had read this, my only thought was that Kakashi's perception of Sasuke is sometimes close but still manages to miss the mark.
I also adore that you HIGHLIGHTED THE HYPOCRISY?? Hello, isn't Orochimarou objectively five million times worse, where the heck are your reservations about him??
for that first part about Sasuke's ruthlessness- I didn't convey how insanely vengeful he got when destroying root, because I actually wrote that entire scene out in detail in a bit of a prequel, which follows the very end of shippuden when Sasuke was put in prison, and what he did directly after. i actually haven't finished that short little prequel, but I did write the scene in which he destroyed danzo's headquarters. but make no mistake, he definitely used the pretense of destroying the remaining sharingan for his own personal therapy. all he needed to do was some controlled amaterasu- which he did do- but he followed it up by pulling out his susanoo and manually pulverizing the entire underground compound into one giant sinkhole. kakashi was there to witness it, which is why he comes to the conclusion that sasuke still had that ruthlessness in him.
a lot of kakashi's misunderstandings are rooted in his depression. depression makes you lie to yourself, and makes you think everyone around you is one step away from deserting you. so him thinking Naruto would leave the village because of him was, in kakashi's mentally ill mind, very logical.
as for how Naruto would feel knowing how he alone has sasuke's trust, he would actually be very sad lol. he would insist that there were plenty of others Sasuke should trust and open up to. he would see it as Sasuke being lonely, and would try to fix it. he does try to fix it in a lot of little ways. Naruto doesn't see honor in being the only person in Sasuke's life that he's comfortable with.

wrote more stuff at work for friendoes. (Kakashi x OC| Natsuo x OC | Hawks x OC | Obito x OC | Gray x Juvia | Jellal x Erza)
requested by @qettleqorn
prompt: "I try always to be too much for you."
____________
Keigo hits the window open with his front leg and jumps into the office of his agency. All the windows at the top of the building are revolving so that he can get in and out whenever he wants to. The designer had nodded when he had mentioned it “Like messenger pigeons”, well, sort of like that, yes.
Flying back up to Tokyo and down to Fukuoka in one day is taxing, but there is nothing else he can do if he wants to keep his periodic checks into the Liberation Front going without raising too much suspicion back home where he usually works.
He is met with an unusual sight. There is Nakagawa Toshi, the assistant Endevour left behind, officially to do some paperwork, but more likely to have an eye on Keigo’s doings, sitting on one of the couches with the laptop on her lap. She has headphones in and from the light flickering in her eyes he can judge that she is watching a video.
Not touching the ground with his feet Keigo flies over, wing strokes so soft that it almost does not move the air at all. Birds of prey are silent hunters, they say, and since he can control each feather precisely, he also has no issue being as silent as his real life name givers.
Toshi is watching a replay of the latest UA sports festival, he realizes as he gets closer. He knows the recording well, since he too skimmed it closely as soon as the festival was over. Hawks liked to be informed about every hero coming and going. It had been drilled into him to know everything at all times and such was the way he operated.
On screen Todoroki Shoto’s left arm burns in the hellflame his father had given him, the arm he had stubbornly refused to use for the rest of the tournament. Keigo looks at Toshi, the way her eyes look in worry at the boy, her teeth slightly biting her lips, as if this is live coverage and not something that happened months ago.
Still, it’s the first time he sees her face in an actual expression, her fond feelings clearly displayed in her facial features. Keigo has tried to crack her a little, make her laugh or angry or say anything of substance, but was only met with indifference and the neutral, overtly friendly way she also talked to her boss. It had frustrated him more than he wanted to admit.
“Didn’t know you were into little boys,” Hawks jokes finally, his nose right next to her ear.
In her panic, he finally gets a genuine reaction out of her. He face grows pale in an instant, hands smashing the laptop closed as if she was caught watching porn, with one stop she is up, her hands dangerously in position to have him smash his face into the ground again, but stopping themselves just in time to catch herself.
“Haven’t I told you that it is not very nice to stalk people, Hawks-sama,” she says with her fake niceness, trying to hold the neutral face expression though her chest is still heaving with the shock.
He shrugs. “Might have possibly mentioned it before.” Then he lets some of his feathers fly around his head and zip back into his wings. Feathers just made for the best dramatic entrances. “So, what is your interest in young Shouto?”
She offers him another reaction to his question, the neutral face slipping a little as he mentions Shouto. “I just hadn’t seen this fight yet and since Todoroki-kun and his friend Midoriya-kun will be interning at our agency I felt like it was the responsible thing to look at their abilities to get the team matchups just right.” Her voice is steady and it is a good explanation. Still, Hawks knows. Lies.
All his senses go off. Why is she lying to him about this? Better to figure that out now to avoid potentially having a spy in his or Endevours ranks. Hawks smiles back as fake as she is looking at him now. “How did you even come to work for Endevour-san, doesn’t he have many sidekicks that do his work for him?”
Toshi straightens herself out. “Endevour-sama and my mother were always good friends and…”
“Intimate friends?” he asks a little provocatively. “I mean, your hair is red.” Though he can see that it is not the right shade of red.
Ah, so this is how it looks when Nakagawa Toshi is angry, he thinks as he sees the fire in her eyes burning. And yet she holds her calm expression. “No,” she says, voice neutral, “just friends.”
“So you’ve known the family for a while,” Hawks concludes. “And Shouto is your little favourite.”
Her fingers turn dangerously and Hawks can’t say he is into cleaning up her blood and his from the floor. Something like that is only sexy in other situations. He therefore starts walking over to the door leading to the hallway.
“I don’t think I have to answer these questions for our cooperation to continue, Hawks-sama,” Toshi says with cold anger, watching him walk away. “You are asking too much.”
Keigo throws one last look over his shoulder and shows the woman his tongue. “I hope we can continue this cooperation successfully.” He winks. “Just know that I will always give my best to be too much for you.”
The eyeroll on the other side of the room tells him that his double meaning was delivered perfectly. Keigo feels good about himself as he leaves his office. At least he knows now that Nakagawa can be a normal human woman and, which was maybe even more interesting, that she could have such a soft facial expression if someone was important to her.

I will cry. I need to talk about this hold on
Kakashi is literally the Copy Ninja.
he's copied this from Gai. he copied part of Obito's habits after the Kannabi bridge accident. he maybe copied the markings from Rin for his Sukea design (its unsure if it is truly copied, but it does resemble her marks).
he copies things from people he loved. even his father. the whole 'valuing friends' wasn't entirely from Obito. he did value his friends. his father's death just made him confused, but Obito's taking no jutsu on him, and his 'death' only made his need to protect comrades resurface.
the only person I can't see anything he copied from that he loved is Minato.
but he's everything Minato wasn't. and that makes me sad, because if you think about it, Minato was fucking absent. he was never there for his team. he was always too late when it mattered most. and he was the fastest shinobi at the time... Kakashi was always there for his team. he was never too late when it mattered most.
Minato never helped his students. in fact, he worsened his final student's mental health by shoving him into anbu at the age of 13. Kakashi always helped his students. every little thing. he was so fucking panicked when Naruto had a panic attack. what did Minato do after Kakashi suffered a panic attack??? threw him into anbu, of course. logical reaction. yes it was to keep Kakashi close, but honestly how are you meant to help a suicidal teen? he did what he thought was best, which was taking Kakashi's mind off life in general, by giving him demanding missions.
n e ways sorry for the rant.

Just finished shippuden ep 472 and . Well. I'll talk under the cut bc spoilers lol
So obito just died. For Real this time. Except he's making a "detour" and we see a flash of Kakashi with both sharingan, so I guess Obito gives him his sharingan back? Which seems like interesting logic bc it's supposed to be tied to the eyeballs themselves but sure whatever it's naruto what's logic here lmfao
I've definitely softened on my hatred of Obito bc of him trying to do the good thing in the end, though I also don't agree with the way the show is painting him as a Pure Hero. Like it did show some of his past actions but also it's not Really addressing it. Especially not Naruto. He's holding fast to his defense of obito, saying he's "nothing but awesome" to him (or smth around those lines) and here I'm sitting like. Naruto. You remember he literally caused your parents' deaths, right? And many more deaths than that? Like yes it's ur choice to forgive him for that, but there was also 0 mention of like. Anything with that?? It was just like "ok obito's cool now, the rest of that doesn't matter" like what about your parents 😭😭😭 the Uchiha massacre 😭😭😭 neji 😭😭😭 and a great number more people?? We r just forgetting about that now??? Alright then. Like love and peace y'all, blank tickets etc, ppl can always work to be better from whatever point they want. BUT ALSO..... CAN WE AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THE MASS MURDERS... JUST MAYBE.....???? Especially with afterlife Rin saying she's been watching Obito the whole time, said with a tone of approval, and it's like. GIRL DID U SEE HIM KILL YOUR SENSEI..... PLEASE..... jfmadmshxmsn also it's a little strange to me that afterlife Obito is now Kid Form again. Or young teen, whatever. Like he's matching Rin with it yeah but like. I mean. He is a grown man, now. He's not actually a young teen. So he's going on to the afterlife with Rin, the girl he was in love with, a grown man in a young teen's spirit-body... just feels a lil weird to me. But idk this is Naruto and Rin had existed as just something for Kakashi and Obito to regret and look back on (genuinely, who was this girl outside of her relationships with Kakashi and Obito? We don't know because it Never Tells Us.)(thanks naruto misogynistic writing once again), so. Yeah sure give the grown man his childhood romance back what the fuck ever. Naruto logic. Sure.
Also this is a separate thing but well I've talked about how little I've enjoyed the Kaguya shit. Bc it feels shoehorned in and cheap. But I was also like "well, I guess it's a little refreshing to have a female main antagonist" except she's BARELY TALKING. Like most of the talking has been done by Blacj Zetsu. Which what the fuck??? Bro you're literally just a black blob in her sleeve. Stop narrating things and telling her what to do. She's the fuckin moon goddess or whatever she doesn't need a black blob to give her battle advice!!!!! What the fuck!!!!! Shut up already!!!!!!!!!! But also Naruto just cut her arm off (including the sleeve Black Zetsu was in) so hopefully this will stop now. But God it's just so irritating. Naruto misogynistic writing so pervasive we can't even have the big bad female antagonist make her own decisions. It has to be done by a stupid black blob.
Ugh. This show sometimes, I swear...
Also what is it with this show and cutting people's arms off. Like it happens so much???? And it never really bleeds???? What is the de-limbing logic here. At least in tristamp, arm removals were accompanied by Excessive Bleeding, as they would be irl. But in Naruto it's just like. And YOU get an arm cut off, and YOU get an arm cut off, etc etc. Also Tsunade was literally CUT IN HALF. BISECTED AT THE WAIST. AND SHE WAS JUST FUCKIN CHILLING. Like god damn it's Tsunade so she was doing her healing thing but also MOST PEOPLE...WOULD JUST DIE FROM THAT... goddamn ninja magic bullshit. What even is this show lmfao.
#speculation nation#fanny watches naruto#slowly making my way to the end. episode by episode. i am almost there...

Nah, I don't think he needs to be defended. After all, fictional characters are not everyone's cup of tea.
But then, if you wonder why is he sweeping here, maybe you should also ask the people who keep him pretty much always top 5 in the official Naruto polls throughout the years.
In my case, I started watching Naruto waay after the show first aired. The impression I got from Kakashi at that time was of him being a savage moody dude who gave zero fucks and also was sarcastic, plus, that spiky hair gave me punk vibes.
But he's the kind of character that you start liking once you realize he's kinda relatable, especially when you grow up and become a victim of the system. (x)
"But he's always wearing a mask." Well, he has to because he's a ninja and that's what ninjas actually did to keep their identity hidden at all costs? Honestly idk how other characters in the story managed to survive and avoid being a target wearing those bright colors in the middle of the forest while their faces can be recognized in plain sight, lol.
Speaking of ninja stuff, the man is well known for being a skilled tactician able to hold a one-on-one combat while just using a damn kunai, that shit is insane.
The dude ain't a nobody.. in the manga/anime you often see Kakashi being acknowledged through the five lands, even by his adversaries (He's basically Mr. Worldwide) The mask is not the only thing that makes him mysterious (eventually we get to see his face) but also his backstory, which turns out to be a tragic one and that's where you realize why he behaves the way he does.
He was the gifted arrogant kid who ended up being a burnout with unhealthy coping mechanisms after losing his family, accidentally killing his friend (an event that gave him ptsd and permanent nightmares), losing his other teammate during the war while still being a kid and whose last will was to give him his eye (that red eye with powers) since kakashi was badly injured after trying to protect him.
Then he becomes this lethal killing "Machine" with no feelings who avoided any kind of human interaction cause he felt kinda cursed and only wanted to die, but that wish wasn't granted (yet) and he ends up becoming a teacher, which wasn't actually his thing but he tried to do his best. Funny thing, his students (lovingly called gremlins by some fans) are no ordinary kids since two of them are reincarnations of overpowered ancient aliens and he has to make sure these kids don't get killed or, in fact, end up killing each other. All this while he's still fighting his own inner demons, existencial crisis and depression.
If u wanna talk about just looks, sure there are silver/white haired characters with more elaborated designs, but the fact that the guy can show emotions with just one eye is just 👌🏻😆
Then u have the "rolled up sleeves and skull t-shirt"
the slutty fingerless gloves and sitting like a whore thingy..
His inner sailor scout dramatically showing during battle:
Not to mention his favorite way of attacking opponents:
Men in a uniform with a scar in one eye and also a tattoo might be a cliché but it never fails. He could have been given the 'Mappa treatment' like Gojo and show up like this:
But I like my man looking deranged
There's nothing like preferring comfy clothes after a long day of work and we know that
Kakashi could be your sugar daddy since he's actually a millionaire. The man went through all military/ninja ranks and did lots of missions which obviously they get well paid for. However, he's not the kind of greedy guy with lust for power, he actually kinda likes to avoid responsibilities (he never aspired to become hokage/president, he just accepted because of Naruto and Obito and, while being at that position, he made considerable changes that benefited the people and improved the village) In fact, he keeps things simple as he doesn't like to be adressed with honorary titles.
There's also part of the Naruto fandom who accuse Kakashi of being a "bootlicker" but that's not the case since he also stood up for what he considered was right and never sided with corrupted characters like Danzou, the council and others, which made him a trust-worthy person who actually listened to those around him. Of course, he's not perfect and we can see his flaws and mistakes and that's why he's also considered one of Naruto's best written characters. As for the wet dog thing... It's mostly fanon pov just like the little meow meow term, but he has dogs and he cares for them (look at their tiny cute clothes, lol.)
Also that misconception of the character being a hopeless mess... He's disciplined and organized, and also a good cook.
Bonus: It is canon that Kakashi is packin' 🍆
He didn't have a canon partner or relationship, which gives fans the opportunity to play and write/draw him as aro or even ace.
He can also be straight, gay, bi, or poly depending on the mood of the show 😆:
Or maybe he just retired and married Gai:
But he ain't a perv like some people in the notes are saying.. Kakashi definitely knows about consent:
He reads a book of which we never get to know the full content, but it is assumed to be smut, perhaps fluffy stuff with a touch of kinky, who knows. And thank God NO ONE here in tumblr likes reading such thing or even any other kind of fanfiction.
The scene of him being given spoilers by his students during the test is just to show that goofy silly side of him as he can also be sometimes a troll, a prankster, a smooth talker or a badass who ain't fucking around.
He goes out in public with the book, but never reads or shows the content to his students or kids, which is the equivalent of listening to 18+ asmr with headphones in the bus or reading ao3 in a cafe silently on your own.
Who wouldn't want to escape reality through books after being crucified, stayed in coma, die and come back to life, also see your long lost childhood dead friend come back to life and then have a panick attack about it and trying not to lose your sanity and stay positive?
He just wants to take some rest, leave him alone.
He's for many the og, meme material, first anime crush, relatable character, minecraft character design inspo, he's, he's..
Okay, Naruto fans. Please explain how the one character that keeps sweeping in your polls has pathetic wet dog energy, and I'm talking about Kakashi. Now, I must confess the only episode of Naruto I watched was Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura trying to steal bells from Kakashi. They managed to steal the bells only because Naruto stole his book and read the last few pages, which it was heavily insinuated that the book was erotica and spoiled the ending for Kakashi, and he had a full-on meltdown. So again, pathetic wet dog energy. Is it the mask, and you guys find him all mysterious or something? Or is he actually competent at his job, and I just got a bad episode? I would like to know because he's on the same level as Gojo with me. It's just like a generic anime white-haired dude. So, I would genuinely like to understand why you guys love him so much
Defend Your Blurbo #5
Please remember this post is about curiosity and genuine fandom discourse. Be kind with your answers because this is not a debate essay, this is a discussion between fans.
Most of you should at least have some idea who Kakashi is. I know there are many opinions about my various photo choices because I've gone through several. After all, people keep sending me different ones.
But I think the anon is forgetting about the scar and the red Sharingan eye which I think a lot of people find attractive
So, Naruto fandom defend your blorbo

the whole story of naruto is absolutely insane when it comes to sns but the bridge scene in shippuden really takes the cake. look at how they stare each other - sasuke was too busy holding naruto’s gaze and forgot about kakashi coming up behind him:
kakashi and sakura both wanted to try and kill sasuke because they thought he was too far gone, didn’t even bother trying to understand him, yet naruto doesn’t even care if obito was lying or not. naruto didn’t even need confirmation.
and sasuke’s annoyed by this - how could naruto say that? even kakashi and sakura couldn’t believe it.
so sasuke says what’s on his mind. he tells them he killed danzo and his plans for the future.
kakashi thinks sasuke’s too far gone - which is so hypocritical of him considering his whole ‘people who abandon their comrades are worse than scum’ spiel - and wants to kill him. kakashi also drags sakura chosen method of killing sasuke ‘wow sakura you think a poison kunai would do the job?’ - so much for sakura being intelligent.
even karin, who was absolutely obsessed with sasuke seemed to ‘give up’ on him.
not naruto though. naruto didn’t care one bit about sasuke killing danzo. didn’t even react to it. literally almost everyone was against sasuke except naruto. and look at naruto’s expression:
naruto tells sasuke that their roles could’ve been reversed and they they go to another plane of existence where only they can talk and read each other’s hearts. man you can’t make this stuff up.
then naruto starts spouting poetry about how he wanted to get to be friends with sasuke when they were little, yet because sasuke was so good at everything naruto was jealous so he made him his rival instead. “You were my goal.” Wow okay this is totally normal... imagine someone saything to you. they liked you so much and thought you were so cool that you become their goal.
“I’m happy happy I knew you!” yeah okay this is totally normal. naruto, who was alone and shunned and treated so cruelly, was happy he met sasuke because he made his days less bleak. he made him happy. and the best part of this is that sasuke felt exactly the same (vote2 monologue).
and then look at the cover of the next chapter - N.S. Okay Kishimoto okay...
then naruto says it’s all clear. kakashi has no clue what’s going on. neither does sakura. again, the only member of team 7 that tried to understand sasuke was naruto. Kishimoto always kept the others at arm’s length. sakura was like ‘the truth about itachi?’ yet we never see that go anywhere. kakashi knew the truth and still didn’t care.
sns are in their own world. and look at these beautiful panels (thanks Kishimoto).
example number 2 of sns being in their own world - everyone’s like ‘man common let’s go home’ and then naruto’s like: wait no sasuke i need to tell u smth.... sasuke: ofc naruto go on....
and then naruto closes his eyes, points to his heart, and asks sasuke if he can read what’s inside his heart. sir? sir!? like ‘can you see what’s in my soul? can you read my innermost thoughts?’
then naruto proposes the romantic suicide pact with sasuke.
again, sasuke grinds his teeth like he did at the beginning. why is naruto so fixated on him? why would naruto go so far for him? why does naruto keep messing up his plans, over and over and over again, when literally everyone else ‘gave up’ on him?
sasuke looks so vulnerable here... sasuke told naruto that no matter what naruto says he wouldn’t change his mind - yet after everything that sasuke’s been through naruto still finds a way to touch his heart regardless. also naruto why are you so happy at the prospect of being together with sasuke in the afterlife? hmm... forget being hokage, his lifelong dream, which pales in comparison next to his desire to be with sasuke.
karin and kakashi are like ‘what did we just witness rn?’ and then sasuke smirks.
and then naruto says he’ll wait for sasuke as opposed to chase him - their relationship’s dynamic changed once again.
anw the bridge scene was just... very sns-y.
#naruto#sasuke#sasunaru#narusasu#my stuff#ok naruto could've gone about this better#not vowing to die with sasuke but helping instead#but that's a story for another post#no one talk to me rn I'm in my sns feels#tw suicide#naruto analysis

The Beach: Chapter Twenty-Four
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | Masterlist
There was a thick bubble of tension that surrounded the frat house for the past couple of days, and it showed no sign of disappearing any time soon. Unfortunately, this bubble only kept stretching, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it from getting any bigger.
This bubble was created by the events that occurred only about six days ago. Events that had to do with Kakashi and Obito.
After the argument that unfolded so quickly just several days prior, neither of the two men spoke to each other. They didn’t speak, play basketball, nor did they sit around each other whenever they were in the same room. It was almost as if they were strangers again, and both of the men acted as if they didn’t know one another. It was a behavior that many of the other fraternity men considered to be out of the ordinary. All of them were puzzled as to why the once close duo severed their friendship.
The other guys speculated many ideas as to what happened. One of them had the idea that Obito and Kakashi were fighting over Rin, but that idea was shut down instantly. Another theory was that one of the two was trash talking the other, but Kakashi nor Obito were much of the types to gossip about each other. It was a mystery, so what happened?
None of the other men knew what really happened between them, and Kakashi and Obito weren’t interested in telling anybody else. Sure, they had issues, but those issues weren’t other people’s business.
There was one issue the other frat guys were dealing with though.
Kakashi and Obito had a habit of throwing shots at one another whenever they came into the same room with each other. Sometimes it would be random, or one of them would be talking and the other starts saying indirects. Once those words were thrown, the other would fire right back with something just as bad. It would happen extremely often, and the other guys would have to shut them up to get them to be quiet. It was incredibly bothersome, and it was immature.
These fights weren’t timed either. They happened randomly, and there were a few occasions where one of the guys would try and get physical. It wasn’t just one person doing the damage either, it was both. Kakashi and Obito could hardly be left alone with each other.
It was becoming a huge problem, and the other guys were becoming tired of dealing with the two acting like children. Though, there wasn’t much they could do about it. The only way they could actually get removed from the fraternity is if one of them got physical with the other, or if they committed a crime. Neither of which had occurred, but the first option wasn’t out of the question. Seeing how awful their words were to one another, it would be no shocker if one of them eventually threw a punch.
All of them wondered how their once tight friendship became so chaotic. They did come to one conclusion though, and it was agreed amongst all of the other frat men.
One of them fucked up, and bad.
-
It was late in the day. To be more specific, it was around four thirty in the afternoon. The sun had finally begun to make its way down below the clouds, but there was just enough sunlight to keep the air moist and warm.
Kakashi was currently downstairs in the kitchen. He was browsing the fridge for something to snack on since he was a bit hungry. He had just finished doing some of his homework that he needed to complete, and most of his energy was drained from doing just that. He figured he’d at least get something to eat since he was feeling quite hungry. Working out and playing basketball always led him to burning off all of those calories.
He let out some air through his nose when he realized there wasn’t much to eat. It was the end of the week, so that meant he had to go and get some groceries for himself the next day. It was always so annoying having to go and head out to the grocery store, but it gave him something to eat.
Closing the fridge door, he was about to turn around and leave. He figured he’d head out in a bit to get something to eat from one of the local fast food restaurants nearby.
As he turned his body, he stopped himself once he saw Obito on the other side of the kitchen. He was leaning against the counter with his cellphone in his hand. It looked like he had just returned from a workout since his skin shined in the lighting, showing off the sweat that had formed on his forehead.
Kakashi looked away, he had no interest in him right now anyway.
He started to wonder if he should ask the other guys if they wanted something to eat when he went out. There were a few times where they treated him to some food, so Kakashi figured he would return the favor by asking them before he departed from the house.
He looked towards the living room where the other guys sat. They were watching one of the basketball games on the television, and they seemed pretty focused on it.
“Yo! I’m gonna go out and get something to eat! Do you guys want anything?” he started to fish around his pockets for the keys to his car.
All of the men looked over at him. They all exchanged looks with one another, nodding in agreement that they wanted food.
“Yeah! Get us anything! I’m honestly down for whatever!” Shisui called back to his friend.
Kakashi nodded his head, he figured he would get something basic like McDonald’s, but he wasn’t sure yet. He would definitely pick out something that wasn’t too bad. He just needed to get his keys and head out.
“Jesus Christ, Kakashi, your voice really carries itself,”
Kakashi’s head turned towards Obito who was looking directly at him. He had this annoyed look on his features, and it honestly irritated the shit out of Kakashi. There he went again, mouthing off to him as per usual.
If Kakashi was being honest, he was beginning to become very tired of Obito and his stupid comments to every thing he did. Kakashi would breathe and Obito would have a problem with it, and he always found a way to complain about him to everyone else. It was like a job for this guy, and it was becoming a thorn in his side.
He placed his phone into his pocket, turning to face Obito. “Can you shut up? I was literally asking them a question. If you have such a problem with my voice, then go upstairs,” he rolled his eyes in annoyance.
Obito scoffed, shaking his head. “I don’t have to go anywhere? I live in this house too, so I go where I please. I’m not just going to hide away because I don’t like something. You act like you own this place or something,” he shot back, sitting up from the counter.
Kakashi was starting to get pissed off. He was beyond exhausted fighting with Obito over everything. He felt like he was arguing with a child, and he didn’t want to deal with it anymore. If he had it his way, he’d tell Obito to get the hell out, but things weren’t that easy.
“I don’t even act like that? God, dude, can you just shut your fucking mouth for once? I’m trying to go one day without hearing you whine about every little thing I do,” Kakashi pinched his temples in frustration. He was trying his best to bite his tongue, because, to be frank, he didn’t want to start an argument.
Obito shook his head, he was beginning to have enough of Kakashi. “You walk around like you have some ego. Stop acting like you don’t say shit either. You never want to admit you’re wrong and that’s what makes you a piece of shit,” he started to step closer towards him.
Kakashi’s eyebrows shot up instantly. The anger inside of him started to bubble like a pot on a heated stove. He couldn’t believe what the hell Obito was saying to him.
He laughed, looking down at the ground then back up at Obito. “Oh? So I’m a piece of shit? Stop acting like you’re some fucking angel, Obito! There’s plenty of shit I could point out that you’ve done that makes you a piece of shit!” he began to walk closer, “I can name one of them right off the bat and you know I’m not afraid to..”
The two men were now practically just inches away from each other. The frustration running through the two of them was like electricity coursing through wires, and it was intense.
“Hey! Stop your bullshit! Seriously, guys, this isn’t funny anymore!”
The two both turned to look at one of the other frat guys standing there with his arms crossed. The other ones looked just as annoyed as he was, and it was obvious they didn’t like the fighting going on.
Kakashi rolled his eyes, turning around to get away from Obito.
He was honestly over the whole situation. He didn’t like arguing with people, especially not Obito. The whole situation was blown out of proportion, but Obito didn’t want to face that fact. Kakashi tried to explain his side, but he refused to listen to him. It was like Obito took one part of the story and ran with it. That had to be one of the most frustrating parts of the issue.
Not only that, but the two also had issues with Rin.
The girl hadn’t stopped trying to contact the two since everything had gone down. Neither of them wanted to speak to her, and they didn’t plan on ever doing it again. They didn’t care about the apologies or the phone calls.
Kakashi felt so suffocated and stressed inside of that house. Nobody understood how tiring it was, and he honestly wanted to leave. He needed to clear his mind by himself. He wanted to be by himself, and not just inside of his bedroom. Making space in his head would probably help him feel somewhat better. Even if it was just temporary.
Kakashi pushed past the other frat guys. He went towards the front door where he had left his keys on the hook. He put on his white slip on Vans, and exited the house as fast as he could. The door slamming shut was the only sound that echoed throughout the now quiet household.
This left Obito alone with the other guys.
Shisui looked towards his friend with his brows raised upward. “Are you.. good..?” he nodded his head, concern dripping from his voice as he asked the question.
Obito shrugged his shoulders, grabbing his water bottle off the counter. “Yeah..” he moved past him to head in the direction of the stairs. He wanted nothing but to go into his bedroom and be by himself. He had enough interaction with everyone tonight for his liking.
“Wait! Before you go..” Shisui walked towards Obito, causing him to stop in his tracks.
He ran his fingers through his hair. “Bro, what? I want to go upstairs and just be by myself,” he looked at his friend with an annoyed look.
Shisui looked around, then he looked at Obito. “Do you still talk to that (Y/N) girl? Because she’s kind of hot.. and I lowkey wanted to hit her line,” he scratched the back of his head, placing his hands into his pockets.
Obito’s face changed to a more serious expression, and he was now glaring at Shisui. His friend seemed to have gotten the point when he saw how quickly Obito’s face changed.
“Bro, shut up,” Obito shoved past him, heading up the stairs towards his bedroom. He left Shisui standing there dumbfounded at his response.
Shisui let out a huff, turning to head back towards the living room. “It was just a question..” he mumbled, walking away from the stairs.
Meanwhile, Kakashi had left the frat house, and he was now on the road. He didn’t have any specific destination in mind. He was kind of just cruising around the streets, and he was deep in his thoughts. There was so much shifting going on in his life. He could barely keep up with these changes, and it was becoming a problem for him.
He was angry at the world for how quickly things went to shit in his life.
He lost his best friend, and he lost complete trust in everyone around him.
Kakashi was especially infuriated with Rin of all people. He was still confused as to how she found out the two of you hooked up all those months ago. Kakashi didn’t tell anyone, and he knew you weren’t the type to tell anyone either. It angered him that she told Obito the most. He was very well aware of how Obito felt about you, and that information must have crushed him.
It was almost like Rin was doing it on purpose.
But, Kakashi was also angry with Obito as well. He couldn’t believe that his own friend wasn’t understanding him. He acted like you guys had sex the other day, which wasn’t true. Kakashi had his reasons for not telling Obito, but he often questioned if that was the right choice at the end of the day. Maybe if he told him earlier, this wouldn’t have happened.
Speaking of you, Kakashi started to wonder when was the last time he had seen you on campus. He didn’t really miss school that often, but, if he was correct, he hadn’t seen you on campus all week. There were a handful of times where Kakashi would see you grabbing a coffee, or simply studying for an upcoming exam. Neither of which occurred, and it made his brain question where you’ve been.
Kakashi knew you fairly well. One thing he always knew was that you were never the type to miss a class. It didn’t matter if you were on your deathbed, you would always make it to your classes. It alarmed him if he was being honest.
He slowed down at the red stop light. He then reached for his phone which was sitting in the cup holder beside him. The time on his phone screen displayed that it was now almost five o’clock in the afternoon. He knew for sure that you were awake. He contemplated for several seconds wondering if he should give you a call, or shoot you a quick text message to check in on you. Would you even answer?
If Kakashi couldn’t get a hold of you, the only other option he had was to go and visit you in person.
His eyes darted towards the Dunkin’ Donuts which was on the right side of the street. An idea seeped into his brain as he waited for the light to turn green.
He was going to go and pay you a visit.
-
Your back laid flat against your mattress. The emptiness of your apartment left a deep quiet to linger around the rooms. Konan was absent from the apartment since she was at work. She offered to take the day off to spend some time with you, but you told her that she didn’t need to worry about you. You’d only be a burden to her presence.
Staring up at the ceiling, the darkness from the outside was starting to seep into your bedroom. You didn’t have a single thought inside of your blank mind. You couldn’t think of anything at all, and, every time you did, it would disappear faster than you could think of it.
Your attention went to your stomach which was grumbling in hunger. You let out a sigh when you realized you hadn’t eaten much all day. After your episode with Konan, she made you some stir fry that she had been wanting to show you. It was a great dish, and it did put you in some better spirits. The stir fry was also the first meal you had in days, but, since then, you hardly had much to consume. You hadn’t gone grocery shopping for yourself since before everything went down with Obito, and, being honest, you had no energy to do so.
Despite that, Konan tried to get you to eat something at least every day. She often brought you something from one of the restaurants nearby, or she’d leave you a plate if she made something at home for dinner. You always ate her cooking. You didn’t want her to think you didn’t want it, because, truly, you did want to eat. You just didn’t have much motivation to.
You despised being in the state you were in, but there wasn’t much you could do. You could hardly get yourself out of bed half the time.
You were about to turn over on your bed for another nap, but the sound of knocking caused that idea to come to a halt.
At first, you thought it was something outside, but you quickly realized that the knocking was coming from the front door. It wasn’t Konan, because she had her key, so who could it be? There were a number of people you could think of, but you weren’t sure. Maybe it was a package delivery man? Or maybe it was a neighbor asking for sugar?
Sitting up in your bed, your mattress creaked from the sudden movement. You then stood up, making your way to your open bedroom door. You stuck your head out into the corridor, and started to creep your way towards the direction of the front door. Whoever it was kept knocking, so now you were very curious.
You slowly stepped towards the door, moving your face towards the direction of the small peephole. It took you a couple of seconds to see who it was, but, nonetheless, you were still surprised.
Standing behind the door was Kakashi.
There was a side of you that wondered if opening the door was even a good idea. You couldn’t help but ask why the hell he was outside of your apartment with zero notice. You and Kakashi didn’t speak very often, and, if you did, it was a very short conversation. Was he here because of Obito? Your stomach twisted at the idea. Deep down you hoped that Obito didn’t tell Kakashi what happened.
Another knock caused your thoughts to be broken up. You had to make a move, and fast.
Taking a deep breath, you decided that you were going to answer the door. There was that chance that Kakashi was absolutely clueless about everything, so you had something to hold on to.
You placed your hand against the doorknob. You then turned it to pull open the wooden door.
Kakashi’s eyes widened when he noticed that the door was cracked open. When he saw you, he could feel a tug inside of his chest. You didn’t look like your usual self, and it hurt him to see you that way. He didn’t know what was going on, but he had many questions. He was honestly relieved that he listened to his gut.
Your hair was messy, and it didn't look like you had been taking care of yourself. You had these dark bags underneath your eyes, and your clothes were now wrinkled and messy. Your once lively face seemed cold, and you looked sick.
“Hey..” he decided to speak first, because it didn’t even seem like you wanted to talk to him. Kakashi wondered what happened to you in such little time.
You swallowed, trying to clear the dryness in your throat. “Hey.. um, what’s up?” you finally lifted your eyes off the floor to look at Kakashi. He seemed very concerned, and you tried your best to avoid that thought.
He lifted the white baggie which was decorated with the orange and pink D’s. It was clearly a bag from Dunkin. He also held an iced coffee in his other hand. Your eyebrows furrowed almost instantly. He brought you something to eat? You began to wonder if Konan had sent him to give you something.
“I brought you something because I hadn’t seen you around campus for a little while,” he said, “If you don’t want me here, it’s fine, but I got a little worried,”
As much as you wanted to turn him away, a part of you knew that his gesture was sweet. Besides Konan, Kakashi was the only person who came to check in on you in person. You didn’t want to be hostile towards him, because you knew he didn’t do anything wrong. Plus, he got you some Dunkin’, how could you say no?
You pushed the door so it was now opened wider. “You can come inside,” you shifted so he could enter your apartment, “I haven’t had much company lately besides Konan, so I think it’d be nice to have someone else around for a change,”
Kakashi stepped inside of your apartment. He then closed the door behind him as you walked away towards the kitchen.
You looked so weak, and frail. It almost looked like you were a piece of glass, and, if you were dropped, you would shatter completely. He honestly felt so bad for you. Whatever you were going through, you didn’t deserve it at all. You were one of the purest people he’s ever laid his eyes on. Someone like you didn’t deserve to feel like garbage.
Turning on your heels, you were now facing Kakashi. As soon as he saw your face looking at him, he handed you the iced coffee and the bag. You took it from him instantly. A small smile formed on your features from his action. You always loved going to Dunkin Donuts when you were a child. You always made your mother buy you chocolate milk with a donut on the side for breakfast.
“Do you want to go and sit down? I’d rather sit and eat,” you laughed, nodding your head at the couches which were on your left where the living room was.
Kakashi’s eyes briefly flashed over at the couches before looking back at you. “Yeah! Sure, let’s go and talk,” he placed his hands into his pockets. He then began to follow you once you started to make your way into the living room.
Placing the iced coffee down on the coaster on the table, you plopped yourself down on the couch. The cushions caused your body to move slightly upward. Kakashi did the same, he had his body facing you so he could give you all of his attention. He had to admit, your couch was pretty comfortable compared to the one at the frat house.
You looked down at the white baggie in your hand. You stuck your hand inside of it, causing the bag to crinkle from your movements. Your fingers landed on a soft object, causing you to wonder what it was.
You then pulled out a donut. The frosting was the color of a chestnut, and there was a plethora of sprinkles that covered the ring. It smelled delicious, and the aroma made your stomach rumble with hunger. You didn’t think you’d have the appetite for a donut, but you were glad that you had one in front of you. You hadn’t eaten a donut in a long time.
Opening your mouth, you took a bite of the dessert. The flavor took over your tongue, and it honestly tasted amazing. The chocolate taste along with the sprinkles really relieved the craving for food you had.
“So.. how are you? What’s been going on?” Kakashi looked at you as you chewed your food.
You swallowed, reaching over to take a sip of the iced coffee which was right beside you. “Honestly.. a lot has changed these past couple of days,” you sipped the coffee from the straw, “I haven’t felt very well, so there’s that,”
Kakashi was having a hard time figuring out what else he should ask. He knew damn well there was more you had to say, but he didn’t want to come off as being forceful. The last thing he’d want is to piss you off, because, genuinely, he was concerned for you.
He shifted around on the couch, running his fingers through his hair. “I haven’t seen you around campus.. so I was wondering if everything was alright. You never miss class, (Y/N), so, I wanna know if something is bothering you,” he had this worried tone in his voice that made you pause in your eating.
You were conflicted as to if you should tell him what happened with Obito.
There was a possibility that Kakashi was here to collect information. He could just be at your apartment to see if you potentially shit talk his friend, and then he’d report back to Obito. You knew people could be shady sometimes, and it was hard to tell if Kakashi was one of those people who did those kinds of things. You didn’t want to think of him as that person, but, lately, nothing really shocked you.
Then again, what did you have to lose? Was Obito going to come and confront you over you explaining what happened? He can’t necessarily be angry, because you aren’t exactly talking shit about him.
Placing the last piece of the donut into your mouth, you used the napkin to wipe off any grease from your fingers. “Well..” you began, “I just haven’t had much motivation to do anything after what happened.. with.. you know who,”
Kakashi’s expression changed to an astounded one. He wasn’t exactly the most shocked that Obito had to do with your odd behavior, but he didn’t think you’d get this bad over a guy like him. After all, Obito could be a fucking dick sometimes.
He cleared his throat to speak. “What happened with Obito, (Y/N)? You can tell me, because, right now, I can barely look him in the eye. Did he do something to hurt you?” he nodded his head to the side, curiosity heavy in his tone.
One thing about Kakashi that you could always trust was his honesty. Whenever he spoke, you could always differentiate if he was lying to you or not. In this situation, it didn’t sound like he was being dishonest with you. Plus, you never gave Kakashi a reason to lie to you.
You were now very curious as to what happened between Obito and Kakashi. They were best friends, so what the hell changed in just a few days?
Did it have something to do with you?
You chewed on the inside of your cheek. The memories from that night flashed inside of your mind, and you could feel the nausea swirling inside of your gut again. You hated how sick you felt whenever you thought about Obito. Even retelling the story to Konan made you want to vomit, and it was hard to explain it without having to take a second to pause.
You played with the strings of your pajama shorts, looking down at the fabric of your couch. “Obito didn’t hurt me.. he just.. he left,” you started, “He told me that our agreement was over.. and that was it. He was gone without a single explanation.. he cut me out like it was absolutely nothing..”
Kakashi could hear the heaviness inside of your voice as you talked. He also saw the pools of tears that welled inside of your eyes. You quickly wiped them away as soon as he noticed. You didn’t want to cry about this anymore. You were so sick and tired of being sad over Obito. It was becoming so exhausting feeling this way every single day.
You took in a shaky breath. “I don’t even know why I’m so upset. We were just fuck buddies! I always told myself that this was temporary, and he wouldn’t be here forever,” you laughed sadly, “I guess.. I just didn’t think he’d leave so soon.. and it’s all my fault..”
Kakashi’s eyebrows knitted in confusion. How were you to blame for all of this? If anything, there was a huge miscommunication, and that was no one’s fault at the end of the day. He honestly couldn’t believe that you were harboring this guilt on your shoulders. He hadn’t seen you like that since that one night almost six or seven months ago.
He knew how much you cared about Obito. Even if you didn’t want to admit it, Kakashi saw clearly that there was something between you two. There was definitely a connection, and it made Kakashi upset knowing that it was all gone over something so messed up. He wished he could try and help you, but he didn’t know what he could achieve. Obito was angry with him, and he was most likely angry with you too. No amount of talking could fix what happened, and that was the hardest part of this whole ordeal.
Kakashi could see the hurt on your face. He wanted to help you as much as he could. Although it may not be much, he wanted to be there for you. This wasn’t the first time he’s come to your aid, and he wasn’t going to let you collapse down that dark hole again. He wouldn’t be able to sleep at night knowing that he walked away from you.
He reached forward to place his hand on your shoulder, causing you to lift your eyes to look at him. “I know whatever I say won’t help you a lot, but I truly care for you, (Y/N), and I know you cared for Obito too,” his thumb rubbed into your skin, “But, please, don’t let yourself go down that road again. You are so, so amazing! You deserve such great things, and you know that,”
You sniffed, letting out air through your nose to keep yourself from breaking down. “I don’t know what to do, Kakashi, I really don’t. I am so fucking lost.. I can barely get out of bed, and I am so scared I’m going to never get out of this place..” you swallowed thickly, holding in the tears that threatened to fall from your lash line.
It was almost as if Kakashi was having deja vu.
He squeezed at your shoulder. “You are going to get through this, okay? It’s going to be a long road ahead, but I believe in you. You’re so strong, (Y/N), and I cannot think of anyone who is stronger than you. Don’t doubt yourself, okay?” he looked at you with genuine eyes, “You have Konan, Deidara, hell, even I’m here for you. I’ll always be in your corner, and I will never abandon you when times get hard,”
The words he spoke sunk into you like a sponge collecting water. It had been such a long time since you had heard such reassurance like that, and it felt like this weight was starting to lift off of your shoulders. You didn’t think Kakashi would ever say things like that to you, but you weren’t going to object.
Without warning, you fell into his arms, embracing him in a tight hug. One that you’ve been needing for so long.
The smell of his cologne filled your nose, and your grip around his neck was tight. Kakashi slowly put his arms around your waist, bringing you closer to him. He wasn’t going to push you away, no, you needed to feel somebody for once. You were at one of your lowest points, and Kakashi was there to help you every step of the way. He cared, he cared so much about you.
For several minutes, you both sat there with each other. Kakashi occasionally stroked your back, soothing any negative emotions you had away. It felt so comforting, you almost didn’t want to let go, but you knew you had to.
Pulling away slowly, you wiped away any excess tears you had. “Thank you.. really, I appreciate you a lot,” you smiled, and, for once, your smile seemed genuine.
Kakashi laughed, looking down at you with a similar smile. “Don’t thank me, you deserve everything good coming to you,” he reached to cup your cheek, “I mean that..”
You started to wonder if maybe, just maybe, this whole situation was going to pass. Maybe you were going to be okay.
“Before I go..” Kakashi reached into his pocket to pull out his phone, “Put your number into my phone. I want you to have mine just in case you need something,”
You took his phone from his hands and began to type in your number into his contacts. You felt reassured knowing that Kakashi was with you on this. He wasn’t against you, and he wasn’t mad at you for anything.
Though, you wondered what happened between him and Obito.
You handed his phone back to him once you were finished. He looked down at your contact, and then clicked his phone off. “Well, I’ll probably head out now. I have some homework that needs to get done,” he placed his phone back into his pocket.
“Wait, Kakashi,” you looked up at him. Your voice caused him to pause in his movements.
“Yeah? What’s up?” he cocked his head to the side. He wondered if you needed something else.
You hesitated to ask the question, but your brain was buzzing with thoughts. “What happened.. with you and Obito? If you don’t mind me asking,”
Kakashi started to wonder what he could say that wouldn’t sound bad. He knew that if he told you the truth, some bad things could happen. He wasn’t ready to tell you anything yet, because you’d for sure feel worse than you do now. He would tell you eventually, but, right now, he was going to save it for another time.
“We just.. got into a disagreement about something. He can be a dick, you know? It’s fine,” he smiled, reassuringly.
You nodded your head, you decided to not ask anything else. “Oh.. well, let me walk you out then,” you then stood up, walking towards the direction of the front door.
Kakashi trailed behind you, once he got to the door, he was starting to feel more confident about everything that happened with you. There was a change on your face that soothed all of the worries he had. You looked brighter, and that once dark cloud hanging above your head was seemingly starting to clear away.
You opened the door so he could exit. As he passed through, he looked back at you with a smile. “I’ll see you later, and I’ll make sure to text you,” he waved at you.
You giggled, “Of course, and thank you again, Kakashi. I really needed that,” you leaned against the door to keep it open.
“Make sure you actually go to class.. I think your professors are really missing your presence right now,” he winked before turning to walk down the corridor of your apartment building.
“I will!” you called back, laughing to yourself.
Once he disappeared out of your sight, you turned to shut the door of your apartment. A smile settled itself onto your features, and there was this feeling of happiness washing over you. Things finally felt okay for once, and you were starting to feel something again. It wasn’t fake, it was real. You started to wonder if maybe talking more was the reason why this was becoming easier.
Maybe, you were going to be okay. It was going to take a bit of time, but you were ready to fix yourself and get better. You had people in your corner, and not just Kakashi.
You wanted to get back to your usual self.

Hi I'm sorry. I just had a minor mental breakdown and was wondering if you had any Maito Dai headcanons of your favourite au.
He just makes me feel things. Good things...very good comfort character. So dad shaped.
Well, my favorite au is God of Storms
Some headcannons i have for Dai is
He’s the only one who ever believed his son (Prince Gai) when he said he had a friend who seemed to just vanish whenever someone else showed up
After his second death he bonds with Sakumo, and the two of them end up becoming like best friends. No one really understands it, but it’s good for Sakumo and Dai so they’re not complaining
When Kakashi came back from his mortal life and visited Dai for the first time, Dai was the only one who asked how he life was and sat there listening to Kakashi talk about all the things he did, and how much he loved gai.
The star that represents Dai in the night sky is one part of a group that Obito often organizes into the shape of a turtle. He doesn’t always put the same stars, but he does make sure Dai is always a part of that constellation
Pokemon au
Dai is a fighting type trainer. He’s not known for being particularly strong as a trainer, but he is actually capable of taking on some strong opponents. He just prefers helping people and training over trying to make a name For himself
His partner Pokemon is Hitmonchan, and he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t a little sad when jis som chose Hitmonlee as his partner
His Hitmonchan is actually a shiny, but very few people realize that because the dofferences arn’t easy to see unless it’s beside another hitmonchan,

OMG I'm so glad you like it!! yes, that scene from princess mononoke is so them. love your reblogs, honestly! they're always makes me feel every positive emotion I can express.
the chat part is the exact thing. in addition, in this scene Obito is waiting for a simple solution from Kakashi, while he says that there is no simple solution. this is another detail that angers Obito, because subconsciously he believes that Kakashi has some kind of expert opinion, and here Kakashi says that he does not know the answer himself.
if you move away from the topic of my post a little bit, then, well, yes, this is a dialogue about accepting reality, about how to do it right so as not to go crazy or something — And about accepting how hard the reality might become. so it's also about Obito's feeling for Kakashi and Rin, about the way he said that they're fake if they aren't the way he wants them to be. I'd say it's about Obito's immaturity on the one hand, and it's worth thinking about them both being so broken, but Obito was full of hope and this thing hit him hard, while Kakashi hopes for the best, but prepares for the worst. Kakashi says that the worst thing about this situation is loneliness, and Obito, who has been pushing himself into the framework of a "lone wolf" for years, was naturally taken aback when he heard this.
it seems so interesting and kind of weird that kid Obito got hooked on Kakashi, who did nothing but pressure him and spur him on to be better. I would even say that Rin and Kakashi are like a carrot and stick for Obito, and they see it themselves. well, it's a mystery why he chose Kakashi. maybe this is reverse psychology, "I will choose the most intolerant of me, win his recognition and then I will close the non-recognition of other people with this, cuz I defeated the boss." it's like buying an item, we can close the gap between who we want to be and who we actually are, "if those I want to look like have such a thing, then I'll get it and be better." [ a bit weird example, I'm studying to be an advertising and PR specialist so that's why :D ] so maybe he chose Kakashi as the as almost an elusive but payback goal. oh, well, either it's the magical powers of Uchiha's love.
and it's also damn cool that Obito didn't fall for naruto therapy because he generally understands all this, you can't convince him with the words that he said himself as a child. he already has arguments for this over the years. and after all, Kakashi is not saying the same words, they really talk about which side Kakashi is on, and why he is there, and why he did not support Obito, and this is probably one of the most personal dialogues that could have been between them. no, like, they haven't talked for twenty years!!! and after twenty years of separation, in this conversation, Obito does perhaps the most vulnerable and sincere and intimate thing he could do — he admits that Kakashi is dear to him. the same thing happens when he sacrifices himself a second time and gives Kakashi both of his eyes (I'm going to split into atoms right now thinking about how personal and sensual it all is). I think that's why Obito laughs it off or switches the topic at the end — because it's even awkward, to love him so obviously.
I like the "Kakashi is his legacy" thought, it's so true. they seem to both understand this, thus Obito doesn't want to kill Kakashi (he never wanted btw) and this is a very significant part of the reasons why Kakashi did not commit suicide during the Anbu period.
I don't know why Kishimoto prescribed these two the way he did, but they're like from some soulmate AU. paired eyes? yes. seeing eachother's life through these eyes? sure. being separated and then meet in the most tragic circumstances? ughhh. "I'm never enough to be loved", but there's one more "I'm never enough to be loved by you". guys, that's intense (and gay, do smth with this already). and huge YES to the post-war AU
and this conversation with Rin, I would also like to talk about it some day, this is a very entertaining thing. I agree that he might not have seen her literally, but it's rather his expectations and desires.
thank you so much for these conversations I love it 😭 the song lines are accurate af. I will look forward to your posts when you find time for them!
Where actually was this betrayal line for Obito that Kakashi had crossed?
about the whole "anyone got Kakashi, but not Obito" thing that @komihoyinsblog said. I remembered where the culmination of this theme was. no, like, this whole topic is real!
let's talk about the scene after when Jubito was defeated. here I will analyse kkobkk relationships and Obito's arc specifically.
contents | context · meaning of the scene · where's a mistake and where's a betrayal
CH. 655
Context
during the battle with the shinobi alliance, Obito came face to face with a deeply repressed desire for another life, which he did not realize due to his position as the only one who can fulfill the tsukuyomi plan. the battle itself as well as the conversation with Naruto reminds Obito of the aspirations and values dear to him that he had to sacrifice. all this has noticeably hit Obito and now he is disarmed and stripped of his armor, which is metaphorically reflected in his half-naked body (and cuz fans love men's boobs).
CH. 652. god, look how happy he is, I'm sobbing. love the way he never regrets about his scars, they're with him even in his imagination, that's a reminder of his core values.
structurally, in Obito's arc, this scene is the Collapse point and the end of the second act. here, the previous methods (the tsukuyomi plan) have shown their inconsistency, and the goal (peace for everyone and for him, too) has not been achieved, and he must find a new way to achieve this goal. at the beginning of the scene, he is confused, defeated and not ready to face the consequences.
why isn't he ready? he's lying there, seemingly resigned. yeah, not exactly. here, he accepted the impending death, and it's even not bad to die by Kakashi's hand to some extent. another question is, is he ready to talk to him, is he ready to accept the defeat and find the strength to continue the journey?
Meaning of the scene
once again, it is important that the battle with the alliance and the conversation with Naruto influenced Obito, but did not convince him. it was Kakashi who did it.
in fact, this conversation with Kakashi is a crucial reason for Obito to return to his ideals. before that, he was in doubt (the second act is a reflection of the character, as if hesitating from one side to the other), and after that he takes the side of the alliance. what did Kakashi say that made Obito come back?
three questions Obito is asking.
how can you be sure that Naruto won't fail on his way, unlike me? [pic 2, above]
why are you so attached to Naruto, what's the difference between him and me? [pic below]
why are you willing to help him (and not me)? [pic below]
they don't talk about different paths here. Kakashi emphasizes that Obito's path is not exactly wrong, so that's not the deal. it's about Obito and Naruto as people, and, more, about Kakashi's opinion on Obito.
finding out why he is not the one whose path Kakashi is ready to defend is essential for Obito. he wants to understand why Naruto (aka Obito's previous self, too) is closer to him, why Kakashi does not support the actual one for whom he grieved so much. why, even recognizing the possible correctness of tsukuyomi, Kakashi refuses to support Obito in this, prefers to go the same way. and also look at how damn emotional he is at this moment, his feelings go from anger to anxiety in a couple of frames. that's what happened when the central conflict "I'm never good enough to be loved" is raised.
Obito's questions are a subconscious appeal to Kakashi — "why don't you choose me? I could make you happy. what's wrong with me again?!" he thinks that the reason Kakashi doesn't take his side is not because of the correctness of his path, but because of Obito himself. subconsciously, he thinks that it's because of Kakashi's personal dislike of this "new" Obito, and he is very afraid of this might be true. just look at his face at the bottom of the page, he's really worried about hearing Kakashi's answer. oh, and it's actually the same meaning as "I thought, maybe you could love me like you used to, even though I'm different" [ Jinx's quote from Arcane, yes, I like to compare these two sometimes ].
what Kakashi says in this situation means "let me help you." Kakashi said he would be ready to help Obito if he let him in, if he allowed him. this is literally the only condition (which is important to mention here) under which Obito did not pass, because of his desire to reject Kakashi's help, believing that he must put his life on tsukuyomi plan and cut off all ties. but this does not mean that he wanted Kakashi to cut off this tie in return.
Obito was an individualist, and he only scoffed or got angry at Kakashi's offer to help/sympathize. now they're in a situation when Obito finally hear that Kakashi said "you've made mistakes, but that's okay. I can be with you, if you need me to, and I'm okay with you continuing your life and reaching peace. I accept you and I believe in you." and I want you to appreciate that this is the tipping point of Obito's arc.
so, that's why Obito changes his way of acting. Kakashi shows that he accepts Obito the way he is, and thus significantly reduces Obito's need to prove his worth through his own hardships and overcoming difficulties. yes, Kakashi had already said similar things before, and it didn't work, but here this line is resolved precisely because of this deep conversation they had.
Where's a mistake and where's a betrayal
oh, maybe Rin's death was a thing Obito considered a betrayal from Kakashi's part? everything's much less trivial. would he offer to help Kakashi if he thought he was a traitor? and well, he offered.
CH. 630
no, look at his face on the bottom right, why would you say that with such a gentle face to someone you consider a traitor? what is it, a genuine smile? so something happened besides that.
the betrayal was that Kakashi preferred his other ties to the connection with Obito. here, betrayal is not about killing Rin, and not about breaking a promise — all these are mistakes that Obito is able to forgive.
all the moments when Obito says something like "you had the opportunity to kill me, but you didn't do it", "you can't deal with me because of guilt?", "still blaming yourself for the broken promises?" - all this is an attempt to increase his own value, to show the importance of Obito for Kakashi. and it's also a projection. Obito says, "you had so many opportunities to kill me, but you..." although he does the same. like, why would he leave Kakashi alive after the kamui battle? intentionally inflict a non-fatal wound on him and leave him in a dimension that only he and Obito have access to? "I don't care if he's alive or dead," but at every opportunity he chose the option "alive", even if it's less profitable for him. my baby loves to deceive himself so much.
all this time, Obito believed that he was striving for their common dream, and therefore the condemnation from Kakashi (there should be a couple more frames from the manga) feels like the most painful blow for him, especially when Kakashi says that Rin would not want it either. before that, Obito had compared himself and Kakashi a couple of times, put them on an equal footing, and after being rejected by him, that's where Obito feels really lonely.
the point of no return was precisely the fact that Kakashi shows with his own words that he does not accept the current Obito and everything he's been striving for years. all this, taken together, he considered a betrayal, as if he's not enough, as if he fucked everything up again.
therefore, their conflict is resolved by the acceptance of one person by another, this is in fact exactly what Obito's heart wanted — to hear that he could be accepted after all that had happened. the same thing happened after his death, when he finally met Rin, by the way.
hope the text is not that messy. oh, and! that kkob video I've made with mitski's song. this fits the topic so well. love these guys
