aaa I thought I'd share the story here as well, but omg... That left me on the floor... sorry it's a bit long OTL

To keep it short, I met a Miraculous Lady Bug who noticed my Diabetic censor last mini con I went, this weekend. She came to me and told me how she had hers since 15 years... To my suprise, she showed me she even had a Diabetic Type 1 tattoo all across her arm.

It was hard to tell because of the mask, but I think Lady Bug was close to tears because of finding another DT1... We hugged each other and told each other to keep on fighting.

I just never ever expected a complete stranger to noticed my censor and even come to me, open their heart and wishing me to fight... I wasn't even there as an artist, or as yamsgarden, I was just me...

I thought she was so insanely amazing to tattoo this on her and accepted it and that it's part of her. When in my case I try to hide it or rarely ever mentionned it... It's still hard to accept but ngl she gave me hope and strengh.

I know DT1 is common but also still rare. You adapt to it, but somedays it feels horrible, like an awful unfair burden added on top of all your other problems just out of nowhere and who is slowly killing you if not treated...

It just felt insane to be reminded how we're not alone in this. I try to fight it in silence (with the docs ofc) so I forget there's so many out there too... The docs keep telling everytime, how I'm so late to have DT1 but also so young, same for high blood pressure.

Definitely the first time I ever experienced this tho and holy shit.

Ig it's just a reminder how I feel for everyone out there also has DT1 and I wish her and all of us to never give up

Woodstock artist Justin Love is selling his 1940 compound in Saugerties, New York. It has a main house connected to a former church that he turned into an art studio, plus a farmhouse. 4bds, 3ba, $1.649M.

The house has a living/dining/kitchen combo with built-in cabinets, that was all painted a pale pink.

NGL, I'm disappointed in the main house. The kitchen is so dated, and what's up with the floor?

The primary bedroom on the 2nd level isn't bad, it's big & bright and I wonder if the chandelier conveys.

The church/art studio conversion has the most potential. It has the original 1897 stained glass windows and choir loft. This large area would be the main living space and it also has a kitchen, bedroom and bath.

Right now, it's just loaded with Justin's art.

I would guess that the kitchen is somewhere behind that long counter on the left, below the loft.

There's plenty room for a living quarters and a studio.

Look at all the space in the loft. I would live downstairs and make this, maybe the studio and a family room. It's big enough.

There's a nice fenced-in yard and garden by the house.

Beautiful pool.

Next is the farmhouse. The new owner can live in here or rent it out. There are 2 rental options on this property.

The farmhouse looks like it was renovated.

Has a farm kitchen and large pantry.

Upstairs, it has some big bright bedrooms.

1.09 acre of beautiful property. It has a lot of potential.

The trees provide privacy, too. I just wish that whoever took the interior pictures did a better job.

I have all of Sylus Cards except one of the four stars you can get from the wishing well and the one locked behind 10 days with you and I have decided the rankings.

In Fourth Place is at least to anyone who has been paying attention to me and my preference to no surprise is....... Xavier! He may be the devs favorite but he isn't mine. Though I loved his myth story.

Now the real question is who is #3? Has Rafayel managed to maintain his position. I did get to see the end of the Golden Sand Myth after all. Or has Sylus manged to snatch and grab his way to second???

I am sad to announce that My Number Three is infact the Lemurian Artist Rafayel. The myth definitely made it a tough decision, especially since I finished the Sea God before I finished his original myth and also his newest Five Star. The BUTTERFLIES MEAN SO MUCH MORE NOW. Honestly Rafayel is short one good card to going back to second (Probably my fault. I can only spend so much and I promised to keep it to one character after buying my way to Rafayel's second myth pair) So Pray I get a new Rafayel 5 Star

In Second is Sylus! The new kid on the block. The Evil Leader of Onychinus!!! Resident Dom and Quid Pro Quo Master. Let's get into why I ranked him here. One all his outfits were fucking slaying 1000% and YES ofc I bought the matching outfit are you insane. MC has never looked better, I was sobbing. Two Red Eyes, no I won't explain. Three, MC and his dymanic is fun, also I didn't have to come up with a nickname. He already had one for me~ I stole it immediately. Also you know that Love triangle scenario where your stuck between the good boy, smart, probably athletic, cold. (COUGHCOUGHZAYNECOUGH) and the rough bad boy motorcycle 🏍 😎 delinquent? Yeahhh he fits the vibe. And it was working. Honestly I used to make fun of the people who chose the bad boys over the good ones but ngl. Sylus was actually really close to dethroning Zayne too much for comfort 😭 BUT ZAYNE IS STILL #1 AND HERE IS WHYYY

One thing saved Zayne. We'll two. First is his outfit that I will be collecting from yet another Sylus event! Two is his world underneath chapter. Or well the Greyson's chapter. IT KILLED ME. IT MELTED MY HEARTTTTT. THE FACT THAT HE AND MC DISCUESSED THE POSSIBLE SCENARIO, THE RARE ARTIC FLOWER. I FELL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN. AND MY FAITH IN ZAYNE HAS BEEN FULLY RESTORED. I love that man faithfully. I will continue to be his #1 supporter.

I actually hate that they're still asking about endgame's ending because I hate to read that Seb is okay with it which is fine, I get it, he loves Bucky and he loves marvel and he loves the people he works with, I get it. His feelings will never be the same as ours. I. Get. That. But that's precisely why I personally WISH people would stop asking. It's been almost 6 years, pls stop it. Maybe I'm alone with this but ugh, reading that he was asked again about that annoyed me a little (lot) ngl. Aaahh I feel you darling, I really do! I feel much the same, as you know! But that's the thing I was trying to explain in the previous ask I answered; I really, genuinely don't think either Sebastian or Chris are as ok with that ending as they say they are. They literally have no choice to be (mildly) positive about it, since they're not the type of people to shit where they eat or be bitchy about people they respect as humans and professionals, even if perhaps they don't always agree with their artistic/commercial choices, you know? So I personally think we can take their approval with a big grain of salt, based on various factors (like the *way* they've spoken about it, and what they said in the past about how they viewed their characters and relationships, and a bunch of other things).

So, again - I absolutely hear you and I also wish people would stop asking about it, because the less time we spend on rehashing what happened in that ridiculous movie the better, but since people are probably always going to keep asking about it, for me personally, what I explained above makes it much easier to deal with. I hope it can do the same for you, to some extent! ❤️

Livery Watch 2024: Special Editions

Breaking News: Local woman still isn't done yelling about car liveries.

idk how many one-off liveries the teams are going to do this year, but in any case I love McLaren's livery for Japan, so if there's any more across this season I'll be updating this post as they appear throughout the year!

McLaren - Japanese GP Vuse "Driven by Change" livery

I LOVED this when the promo images dropped at the start of the week. The livery was designed by Japanese artist MILTZ and is inspired by Edomoji (a style of Japanese calligraphy), the design reminds me a lot of The Great Wave off Kanagawa but I'm pretty sure because they both have a wave motif.

I absolutely love the splashes of blue and white, I wish they were on the black portion of the car instead because the livery would look so much brighter, but I still love how it looks on the car regardless.

Ferrari - Miami GP Blue livery

Adding list to the very long list of the ways that Ferrari have disappointed me, and ngl I'm so tempted to put it right at the top.

After all the hype Ferrari had been putting out on socials I was expecting the car to be all blue (which, is in recognition of the 70th anniversary of Ferrari selling cars in the USA) and instead we have... this.

Like, no one would have forgotten that Ferrari's are meant to be red just bc the car went all blue for one race, especially because the team kit and overalls are all-over blue for this week (I am extra mad bc the shades of blue that's on the car are so stunning and would definitely have stood out compared to the other blue livery cars).

Also don't get me started on the silly amount of HP logos on the car, if I was a tifosi I would be beyond embarrassed rn

2/10 and that's me being nice.

Racing Bulls - Miami GP livery

Ahhhh. That's better.

I LOVE the multi-colour gradient (even if it does slightly resemble the instagram logo). I would have loved to see it all over the car because the chrome silver bull would look so nice against it.

But apart from that it's so bright and fun and it's going to look fantastic on track this weekend. I'm not even mad that it's matte.

McLaren - Monaco GP Senna livery

*shouting in the general direction of Maranello* You see this Ferrari? THAT'S how you do a special livery!

Yes, it's incredibly yellow (to the point it looks like a Benson & Hedges sponsored Jordan if you squint) but that's the whole point. (Also bonus points for the car pretty much being completely painted!!!)

As an ode to Ayrton Senna, it's pretty much spot on. For me the first thing that always sprang to mind when Senna is mentioned is his helmet design featuring the colours of the Brazilian flag. I also love the diagonal lines as a nod to the Marlboro McLaren livery.

Oh and did I forget to mention that IT'S NOT MATTE!!!

Red Bull - British GP "REBL CUSTMS - Stallion Red" livery

Like last season, we're getting three fan-designed RBR liveries this year in honour of the team's 20th anniversary and this is the first!

And god, I wish it was the main livery. The brushes of neon red are so bright and actually look interesting instead of the super corporate unchanged livery we've seen since 2016.

Usual 'I hate that it's matte complaints' but spart of that, it really looks great.

Williams - British GP livery

So in the design stakes, I definitely prefer last year's white accents design. However, on the sentimentality stakes (of which I will never be immune to), I love it so so much.

As it's been mentioned a lot in commentary already this week, the car features the names of all 1005 Williams team members - and founder Sir Frank Williams, which is just so so lovely.

6/10 for design, 10/10 for the sentiment behind it.

Alpine - Belgian GP "Deadpool & Wolverine" livery

ngl friends I have spent the whole time since this dropped staring at this going 'hmm'.

I definitely don't hate it, I think I once again find all the exposed carbon very off-putting, but at least there is more paint on the car this time compared with their core blue and pink liveries. (And, tbf, given how Deadpool's colour scheme is red and black, it does make sense from that pov)

The concept behind this is very fun, I genuinely cannot remember the last time we had a full promotional livery for something (Aston Martin did run the James Bond logo on their cars when No Time to Die came out, but that was it).

I think it would have been nice if there was more yellow (as cool as the Wolverine claw marks are), but overall it's definitely very fun. I really want to see how it's going to look on track.

Mercedes - Singapore GP "Petronas 50th Anniversary" livery

Not gonna lie, after the well documented events of the 2019 German Grand Prix, I honestly never thought we'd see Mercedes run a one-off livery ever again, so seeing this upon opening Instagram this morning was a nice surprise!

Might be worth saying that this livery is in honour of Petronas' 50th anniversary as a company (their title sponsorship with Mercedes only dates back to 2010), and the choice of debuting this livery at Singapore is that it's the race closest to Petronas' HQ in Malaysia.

(Powers that be pleeeeeeeeease bring back the Malaysian GP in Sepang!!!!!!!)

So, all that aside, I do very much like this livery. The Merc colour scheme of black, silver and teal is super iconic and works in pretty much any iteration. Design wise though I wish there had been a tiny bit of effort put in because they've literally just swapped round where the silver and teal is on their core livery.

I do think the car will stand out on track really well against the dark tarmac of the circuit, and the fact that from this picture at least the teal portion of the car looks glossy so it should look stunning under the floodlights at night.

Racing Bulls - Singapore GP "Hugo Boss Denim" livery

I want to get on board with this, I really really reaaaaaaaally do.

I just can't because they didn't properly commit to the bit and do the whole car in denim.

Unlike RBs Miami GP livery in which they got away with keeping the dark blue engine cover and halo because across the whole car the colour scheme still felt cohesive, on this livery (or, as we're all calling it, jivery) the saturated blue does not feel very put together with the rest of the denim. And I am a little bit mad about it bc if the denim had been all over the car I think it would have looked both amazing and really different on track. And for once, I don't mind the matte finish bc as we all know denim is not ultra-glossy - another reason why keeping the dark blue engine cover from the core livery just makes the whole thing look odd.

Love the concept, really not on board with the execution - 6/10 overall.

McLaren - Singapore GP "OKX Legend Reborn" livery

oh this FUCKS.

It's somewhat turned into a tradition of McLaren debuting a one-off livery in Singapore. In 2022 the sky blue accents on the core livery were swapped out for a stunning hot pink, and last year we had the mostly carbon stealth livery (you can find my thoughts on that in my Livery Watch 2023 tag).

And this year, as the name suggests, McLaren are running a livery inspired by the iconic Marlboro McLaren livery of the 1980s, with papaya orange in place of Marlboro red.

and to repeat myself, it FUCKS.

I love the stripe of white down the middle of the car, it really stands out compared to the slash of exposed carbon on the core livery and combined with the orange the car just looks so much brighter and is really going to stand out on track.

Is it a little bit Finding Nemo? Yes. Do I care? No.

For the tiny bit of exposed carbon it loses a point so - 9/10

Red Bull - Singapore GP "REBL CUSTUMS - Camo Bull" livery

I will update if I find a better picture, the RBR website is silly.

The funny thing about updating this post as the year goes on instead of doing a reblog for each new livery is that all the various off-track (ie. Red Bull scrapping their two remaining fan designed liveries because the paint they were going to use made the car too heavy) happenings do get a bit lost within the passing of time.

But, as this is my house and I can do what I want on Livery Watch, I'm gonna yell about what would have been RBR's Singapore GP livery anyway, as it has thankfully been put onto Hamda Al Quibaisi's F1 Academy car (plus matching overalls!!!) for this weekend.

And as I said on a post earlier today (as I write this) I am mad that RBR chickened out bc this is SUCH a sexy livery. It pays tribute to the og Camo Bull livery from 2015 pre-season testing so well and it's just DIFFERENT and FUN and is gonna look SO good on the circuit and the pops of neon red are just stunning. I love it.

Haas - United States GP livery

Not only are Haas going to be arriving at the Circuit of the Americas with Toyota Gazoo Racing logos on the car after the announcement of their new technical partnership with Toyota, they are also as seems to be turning into a tradition running a stars and stripes inspired livery for what is 'officially' the team's home race.

(I say officially as while the F1 calendar does have 3 US races, the race in Austin is the only one branded as the United States GP).

I do very much prefer this livery compared to the one they ran last year. The brighter, more saturated colours, work well against the predominantly black base, though I find the red driver numbers a bit hard to read as the white outline is a bit too thin. But I love the scattered star motif on the front wing and sidepods - I think it's very fun!

While I do get why the main emblem on the car is a hybrid of a lone star (bc Texas is the lone star state) and the head of an eagle (ca-caw, wtf is a kilometre) it does slightly give off 'concept art for an NFL team logo' vibes, and I think running with just the star motif would have gotten the same message across just as well.

(I will say though, I think the eagle art itself is pretty good! It just feels ever so slightly too much.)

Alpine - United States GP "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" livery

As the semi-official Livery Watch reporter for f1blr news, I do feel it's my journalistic duty to point out that Disney have not managed to pay Harrison Ford even more money to come back for another film, but that this livery is actually promotion for the upcoming video game of the same title.

My second thought upon seeing this livery (my first, like everyone else, was that it looks like a McLaren cosplay) was that I felt quite mad Alpine have painted more of the car for this one-off livery than they have done for their pink and blue core liveries, and I'm once again mad at the missed potential for what we could have had.

(My thoughts on the Alpine core livery can be found in my Livery Watch 2024 tag).

I did have to do some digging, and thanks to this video posted on Alpine's twitter feed and this post by one of Alpine's graphic designers, I am fairly confident in saying that the car is not in fact all over orange, and like the Indiana Jones logo is more of a yellow to orange ombré with a really cool looking treasure map motif on top.

I think the concept is fun (despite the promo images making the car look more orange than what it seemingly is) and it's been executed fairly well, but I may need to wait to see it in daylight before properly deciding if I like it or not.

McLaren - United States GP Chrome livery

As first ran at the British GP last year, McLaren have once again brought back their chrome silver livery of the late-00s and 2010s, in partnership with one of their main sponsors Google.

And, before I go in detail, I want to show my initial reaction via the tags on a post of this livery I reblogged earlier today because I think it sums up my feelings very well.

I cannot begin to express how delighted I am that McLaren have given this livery a second attempt, because the first version they ran last year was quite a big miss.

This version feels so much more thought out in terms of where the chrome silver paint will actually go and what this livery and the original Vodafone McLaren chrome livery do well is having a really bright pop of colour against the silver so the car doesn't look too bland (unlike the team's 2014 chrome and black livery).

Honestly? This is yet another banger of a McLaren one-off livery. It's silver chrome done stunningly well. 10/10.

Williams - Mexico City GP & Sao Paulo GP altered Core livery

The delay in the latest addition to Livery Watch is partially due to life stuff, and also due to me contemplating whether or not it actually counted since it's a sponsor driven change as opposed to a "let's do this for funsies!" change. BUT we have seen sponsor driven liveries this year so I have finally decided that it counts, so onwards!

The addition of the Mercado Libre logo and yellow colour splash for the two Latin American races of the year is definitely fun (it stands out on the car from a mile away) and either intentionally or otherwise evokes the classic blue, white and yellow Williams liveries of the 80s and 90s.

Obviously there would have been a limitation on what shade of yellow they could put on the car, and I am somewhat bummed that it covers the original Frank Williams Racing logo, but a lot of what I love about the 2024 core livery remains.

Sauber - Las Vegas GP Flame livery

I want to like this. However, I don't think I do.

My favourite part of this livery is the nose cone, I think the white to neon green gradient is actually quite nice and had it been done all over the car would have looked very striking on track (especially in contrast to the exposed carbon areas of the car).

I'm just... really not a fan of the flame motif. It looks fine on the front end of the car, but on the engine cover where it's just a flat line before the rest of the flames just makes it look so harsh and for me anyway it's the first thing my eyes are drawn to because it look so slapped on and out of place.

5/10 (mainly for the nose cone)

Alpine - Las Vegas GP, Qatar GP & Abu Dhabi GP 'Al-Pink' livery

When I tell you that upon opening my instagram and saw this I literally threw my hands into the air as if I myself had just won a Grand Prix (please also refer to my all caps post from earlier as an additional first reaction that sums up my general feelings nicely).

oh BWT, I could literally kiss you on the mouth for this. I genuinely have never been happier for a sponsor requiring that a team run a specific livery for a set number of races per season. Pink Alpine they could NEVER make me hate you.

And I am so utterly thrilled and delighted to say that thanks to one of the Alpine livery/graphic designers confirming in this post, IT'S A GLOSSY PINK 😭🙌

Previous BWT-pink liveries have been a much softer pink, but I just love the brighter in your face almost Barbie pink. I think they've gone in this direction since all the races this livery will be ran at are night races, so the slightly darker and brighter pink will definitely stand out against the dark circuit under the floodlights.

Yes, there is sadly more exposed carbon than I would like. But I honestly don't care. IT'S A SHINY PINK F1 CAR!!!!!!

Gonna keep it short and sweet, and share my initial reaction to the livery via the medium of a screenshot of Discord DMs.

We could have had it all... truly. Racing Bulls were literally stood in front of an open goal and instead kicked the ball outside the stadium. My disappointment is beyond immeasurable rn.

when you join the crew, he’s unnerved by your presence, which is wholly unlike him. usually, he’s able to put on his façade of the flirtatious cook, one that’s jovial and sociable, that lives to serve and please those around him. his first conversation with you ends in disaster; he spills the drink he tried to pour for you, despite your insistence that you are perfectly capable of pouring your own drink — and he knows it’s not out of malice, but it cuts into him all the same.

he tries again and again, bringing you little treats that you only agree to eating if he sits and eats with you; confusion eats away at his mind, and when he opens his mouth to decline, you pat the seat next to you and he acquiesces. he sits stiffly, at first, unsure of why he always feels on edge around you — an irritating need to impress you in a way he’s never wanted to for others grows stronger by the day.

you think it’s cute that he always seems flustered around you — that he stumbles over his words, refuses to hold eye contact with you for longer than thirty seconds — you also think it’s cute that the false bravado that he puts on for the world, diminishes immediately the second you come close to him. if he’s skittish, it’s because you always catch him staring at you; despite his quick reflexes, his reactions around you are slow but pure — childish, almost.

lately he’s clumsier and scatterbrained, nearly burning dinner when you decide to keep him company. you lean against the countertop, a teasing smile on your face — the same one that that caused him to bump his forehead against the cabinet door earlier — as you prattle on about a dream you had. he can barely keep up, his eyes drifting from the skillet to your face, gliding around the curve of your cheek, dipping lower in a slow descent along your neck.

he blinks repeatedly when he reaches your clavicle, stunned at his restraint; and it’s only when you call his name loudly that he realizes he’s left the heat on for too long.

“are you okay?” you ask when you see that he’s fussing over how best to save the dish, mouth moving as he quietly mutters to himself. he barely registers your voice, as an insidious one whispers harshly into his ears about his perpetual incompetence and lack of talent.

you can see that he’s retreated even further into his mind, a feat that also leaves you frustrated. you want to shake him but refrain and grab his hand instead. he snaps out of whatever stupor that held him captive just moments ago, lips parting as he sighs softly before glancing down at you.

“thank you.”

the words are quiet, but impactful, as he didn’t think he’d be able to get them out. you let go of his hand too soon, but he doesn’t say anything else, choosing to focus on cooking than embarrassing himself again in front of you.

you take his silence as a silent dismissal, but you don’t fight him on it — it’s bitter, that sort of rejection, and you swallow back your argument with great difficulty.

STEP 03:

what’s the difference between cowardice and self-preservation? —

frustration bubbles underneath his skin when he can’t find where he placed his lighter; he runs a hand through his hair and tugs on impulse, accidentally ripping a few strands from his scalp. they swirl and tumble onto the ground, pathetic in a way — just like me, but he never really says that out loud. he doesn’t hear your footsteps, although you did your best to remain as quiet as possible.

a cigarette sits in between his lips, and he has half a mind to toss it over the railing of the ship, but a warmth suddenly appears in front of him in the form of a flame. you found his lighter on the floor earlier and meant to give it to him, but every time you got closer, he found every excuse to leave. you don’t realize the impact you have on him — not really, anyway — because he’s genuinely surprised that you can’t hear the heavy beats of his heart that grow more intolerable the longer he hangs around you.

always afraid of being found out, he opts to keep his distance. it’s easier this way, he tells himself, better. but he doesn’t quite believe that; the evidence is plain as day when his tongue feels like its grown three sizes in the span of seconds, where his words get lost and forgotten. it’s all your fault, he reasons; you who insists on talking candidly with him, who insists on listening to him ramble about his dreams, who absolutely insists on stubbornly tearing down his walls, steadily chipping away without a care in the world. he looks at you as if you are the source of all his problems, but he also looks at you as if you’re the solution.

the intensity behind his stare makes your hands tremble slightly, it’s a miracle you’ve managed to keep yourself composed for this long. you light the end of his cigarette with ease, as if you’ve done this for him hundreds of times —and place the lighter into his pants pocket afterwards. if he wasn’t so used to you getting in his personal space all the time, he’d retreat immediately. the proximity is almost too much for him, but he doesn’t step back; you take that as a good sign and keep him company for a few minutes.

you don’t care for the smell of smoke, but on him it smells good. you almost tell him that, but instead bite down on your lip and keep your comment at bay, nerves getting the best of you as you nearly choke on the possibility that your feelings won’t be reciprocated.

another time, maybe. cheeks flushed, you turn your face to look elsewhere. although, you wonder if there ever will be another time. with him, you never know.

he’s still trying to figure you out and why he feels a different sort of calm around you; it’s alarming and new, drumming up an irrational fear within him. he doesn’t think he’s deserving of your attention or affection, and he’s convinced himself that you don’t harbor any romantic feelings for him. and why would you?

one by one, his thoughts pummel into him, acerbic and overwhelming. he exhales a sliver of smoke and puts the cigarette out. he gives you a quick, apologetic look before telling you goodnight, the smile on his face is melancholic and barely existent. you don’t dare say a word, keep your lips pressed together stubbornly; exasperated and dejected, you don’t know what’s worse — his inability to lower his guard around you for longer than ten minutes, or your inability to stop yourself from trying to carve pieces of yourself to give to him.

maybe if you helped him fill the gaping holes in his heart, he’d truly understand how you feel.

STEP 04:

if you had to do it all over again, would you do anything differently? —

sleep evades you after that night, and the night after that, and so forth; it gets so bad that you’re yawning in the middle of the day, falling asleep before you can have a cup of coffee or tea. this does not go unnoticed by the others, and after talking with nami, you feel less out of your element and finally can see the parts of sanji that he wants to keep hidden. her advice is simple: approach slowly and with intent; corner him and don’t let him escape.

you bide your time, full confident that you can find a moment to sit down with him and talk this all out. it doesn’t come easy, but franky mysteriously swaps sanji for the night’s watch — something that should strike you as odd, but it’s a small opening that you take without thinking as you hurriedly climb up to the crow’s nest with a renewed sort of energy.

even with his eyes closed, as he sits lazily on the bench with head tilted back against the wall, he knows it’s you.

“go back to bed,” he says firmly, refusing to look at you.

your stubbornness, unfortunately, wins out. “i’m staying.” at that he sits up, his attention completely on you as his eyes widen at your words. he wants to ask you why, but cowardice wins out — again. as his features soften, a flush crawls along his face, lightly painting his cheeks pink. he closes his eyes again, tries to steady his breathing as he counts backwards, only for his efforts to be obliterated with ease the moment you sit next to him.

as your thigh presses against his, you take his hand and on impulse you trace your fingertip along the lines on his palm. he watches you with a morbid fascination that scares him; but then you start to say things like, “you will live a very long life,” and “you are courageous, and you have a big heart.”

a small part of him wants to pull his hand away, so you won’t say anything else — but he remains put, so still that you almost think he’s stopped breathing. your voice is sweet and disarming, even when you carry on this charade of reading his palm. a belated realization hits him forcefully, making him blink several times; it dawns on him that you’ve always been so kind and gentle with him, even when you teased him. he’s spent all this time overthinking and hiding behind his past, that it never occurred to him that he could have simply let you in. you’ve never given him reason to believe that you’d betray or harm him intentionally.

he takes a deep breath, voice a little uneven, “i—”

you lean in close, adoration dripping onto your words as you interrupt him. “hey, have i told you?” the question glides along his skin, the words seeping into him as you continue, the lilt in your voice a honeyed, melodic spell. “you remind me of starlight and the mysteries of space.” your lips brush against his when you tell him that, and a warmth settles into the middle of his chest, makes it hard to focus. he doesn’t think when he curls his fingers around yours and doesn’t think when heleans down to kiss you — tender yet electrifying all the same.

the move disarms you in a way that doesn’t quite make sense to you, so you simply hum in approval and lean your head against his shoulder. a comfortable silence settles around you both, but you don’t mind that at all; it’s nice, not having to tip-toe around him anymore, and the demons that plagued him for so long don’t seem so intimidating with you by his side.

I love Yinu and her theme lots even if I'm not that big of a fan of Classical Music. And her backstory...Gosh! It made me cry a lot.

Love the pace of how music goes with the fight and it feels even better when you get into actual rhythm. There were issues that gladly wore off thanks to practice and fighting this boss over and over.

Used to be one of my favorites but due to some circumstances I can't look at her the same way I used to but I still adore her as a boss!

I honestly love her style of the fight and music that changes depending on who you play.

Tho fighting her is literally like eating a lemon but eventually you kinda just accept your fate and roll with weird artistic antics happening around you.

And EVE herself as a character is so fascinating. Like this is the moment where I started to see that these aren't just bosses, they are actually characters that tie this little but complex story together bit by bit. And this is why I would nominate No Straight Roads for The Best Storytelling and Character Design AGAIN!

Funny Useless Fact: EVE was supposed to be a next character to have a complete and detailed art of but due to my forgetfulness, difficulties with her design (and many other things) - it was never finished but I hope to get that dusty sketch out of WIP folder someday.

5. Tatiana

The Bitch. The Boss.

I don't really like her music and rhythm but I can forgive that since it is kind of fitting for conflict between her and the BBJ.

She tries to hide her true image throughout the story and the fight but ultimately crumbles cause escaping from the past isn't the best option to improve.

I love her design and personality and I wish there were more villains like her. Strict, simple, stoic and yet well-written.

Funny Useless Fact: I've never drawn Tatiana until NSR announced their release on Steam with addition of Fanat Graffiti Contest that I certainly didn't want to miss out on. It was difficult but I did it and ngl, I am still proud of the results.

6. DJ Subatomic Supernova & 1010/Neon J

I can't really say anything much about both of them. Sorry, guys...

Their designs and personalities are fun and well-made but due to one of them being the first you fight as "tutorial" and the other appears only at the end of a fight. (1010 band doesn't count as an actual boss to me more like a part of it) They didn't struck me much as the others did...

I will say this thou: their backstories are interesting. One is an academy astrology teacher with a goal of achieving the stars and other is a war veteran who just wanted everyone to live in peace and he himself despite everything never stopped his passion for doll-making and making people happy.

Man, I wish Carmen in The Bear canon aligned with CK not particularly because I wish he was better but because watching S3 I was like oh,,,, did I get all that wrong? Because to me, yeah does Carmen run away from things? 1 fucking million percent. At the same time, however, Carmen is an artist and I think like,,,, he's taught, yknow? He takes direction and critique, is always how I took him-- And so like, he just compartmentalizes criticism of his character the same way he would his craft; and he fucking likes making shit better, so he transfers it to life.

Very much written like the ' daily arc ' & the plots are inconsequential, however! you will learn a little bit more things about Miruku! . . . I imagine this is not popular with the fandom however. ─── What corners of fandom would consider your character blorbo material?

Miruku is for the girls and the gays and the aroace! I believe Miruku might just hit that sweet spot for the ambiguously gendered characters the internet ecosystem gnaws on. He might belong to the roleplay community for this reason, but other than that I can't imagine him being popular in the fandom if at all! He'd have been amongst the many forgotten faces of Reborn!

NIMO : Oh! If I'm understanding it right…like what corners of the fandom would consider Mimi their blorbo…off the top of my head "Villain Defenders/Fuckers" lol since Mimi IS a villain. I could see Mimi being popular in some shipping corners but it's Momina x Miruku or, like, (y)(a)(i)(o) ships with Mimi… ngl I could see Kawahira x Mimi or Reborn x Mimi being really popular too? What other corners… People who are super into writing Metas would love Mimi! They'd think there was a lot to chew on but lament how little spotlight Mimi got. They wished there was more focus! But I can see there being lots of deep dives.

I think the most compelling relationship around him would be Kawahira & Miruku, Reborn & Miruku and Momina & Miruku, but I think it would be seedy and under the umbrella of proships for the first two. I've mentioned this before, but I'm under the impression that it would be difficult for Miruku to triumph against 8059 and D18, I'm already pushing it with sliding against R27, so my reasoning shall be that, ' his most compelling and most difficult interactions were between Kawahira and Momina.'

That he could romantically fall in love and I believe Miruku will be a victim of the uwu-fi-cation beam. He'd likely always be the 'bottom' in the relationship for quite some time, softening his assertiveness. If not that, he might be depicted overly flirtatious and provocative. If there is any fanworks about him to begin with, it might also revolve around a lot of toxic relationship and angst, the worst artist would have depicted him heartless and insincere, very typical edgelord material?

in our tumblr ask era are we 😂😂 alright, here goes: 1) independence to be specific, my ability to keep myself company and distract myself from loneliness and boredom very, very well. when i achieve financial independence too one day, i think it'll be perfect lol 2) honesty i know when and how to sugarcoat, and i could say i'm not bad at lying. but here's the thing: i'm aware of the inconveniences that come with those, so i do try to be honest most of the time. unfortunately there's no real in-between when it comes to my truth and false, so sometimes people think i'm mean because i tend to serve it hard and cold. it keeps the fakes and BS away though, so it works for me. 3) ethics ngl, to this day i'm still a bit bitter with my upbringing. but i admit it has formed a lot of what i hold as my morals and ethics today. i have decent understanding of what's considerate and not, what's necessary and not, etc. combined with my no-BS personality, people who don't match my vibes tend to shy away if i don't take real steps back away from them first. i also don't cause and/or get into dramas as much as others around me haha 🗿 4) luck with friends i don't usually talk about this, but i am super thankful for the people i have had the opportunity to know and befriend in life. i'm more a quality than quantity type of person, so my luck does not necessarily mean i have a lot of friends, but rather having the privilege to find and be found by the "right" people, who make me learn to be a better person. or you know, simply be wonderful companions where we can share our thoughts without worry :') 5) art style not saying it in the way that "my art style is the best!!", because i do sometimes wish it was better, more complex, and more detailed like typical big artists lol. still, i like it because it's comfortable - it's me. if it changes in the future, guess it's safe to say i have undergone another character development 😂

Haley - yknow the drill we love stars over scars it’s SUCH a good trope and he would. i’m just saying. something something the process of healing starts with accepting yourself auhhh. no matter how much he declines it i feel like he’d like aesthetics as well so yes it would be very intricate and maybe it would hurt but this is pain that will be better in the long run!! this is healthy pain!! and sometimes that’s just extremely needed for him. 

Halcyon - obviously the first thing i thought of would be wings on her back HAHAHHAAHAAH. but while searching i found out apparently tattoos don’t hurt too much near the eye area and who knows. maybe she would. flowers or something, black and white + maybe one accent. once again it is the process of healing!! however realistically i do not think she’d get a tattoo in the original universe. maybe in mirai she might who knows

Twelve - first of all they’d crumble if they actually got a tattoo but no we shall not be talking about that. they would! they wish they could, at least. since i do have a tattoo artist oc (finn, who i may or may not have abandoned) and they do interact with each other, why not they can at least brainstorm. i feel like they’d like the small little things, maybe a mural-like/fairytale based tattoo!! either black & white or colour i feel like both would work for them. more for aesthetics and the Experience than anything

Verrill - the most likely to get a tattoo among all of my ocs tbh. once again tarnishing the body is also very much frowned on in querencia but that’s precisely why. he doesn’t care. he wants freedom. he thinks it’d be nice to customize his body the way he wants it + since his outfit involves his whole arm exposed already why not show off something cool on it as well. as for what it would be!! fully coloured stained-glass-esque tattoo that looks kinda like a stylized hole in his arm, revealing a beautiful, messy scenery inside

Elowen - traditionalist. he would not. but if he did. bird tattoo 100%. very geometrical with shapes and lines. probably overthinks on symbolism only he would notice. not very noticable due to hiding it with clothes (will never in any circumstance wear short sleeved) but it’s the thought that counts for him…as an alternative i’m just saying he’d think dragon tattoos would be interesting as a concept

Ida - once again, autonomy is a big part of his story! he would probably prefer tattoos on his body than arm customisation given he’s already trying to move away from that. as a tattoo…hmm…maybe a flower armband-esque tattoo that sounds wonderful actually. coloured, vibrant inking. he’d also be the type to get tattoos in less conventional places like near the stomach perhaps

Ibys - they would Not ask for it but i know they’d love it so much. black and white tattoo, of course. maybe one near their neck/collarbone hmmm that’s definitely symbolic auuughh,,, i feel like they’d like really hyperrealistic tattoos ngl funny thought. they have zero idea how to design one that’s not like what they’ve seen before LMAO. horrible truly. if it’s anywhere else i think they’d like a dreamcatcher tattoo i am So compelled to say that.
