Still holds up.

I think one of the things that continues to get me about Critical Role is how incredibly earnest it is as a show. Like, they’re all grown-ass professionals, most of ‘em are in their thirties or forties, they all know how goofy the premise is, but at the same time they make no bones about the fact that the game is this absurdly important thing to them–heck, it was important to them years before they started streaming it for an audience. They’ll plug the show every chance they get in their professional lives, they’ll change their twitter icons to fanart of their characters, they’ll all go out in the woods together and do a photoshoot in-costume. They’ll talk about losing sleep over bad decisions in the game or dreaming in-character or bringing up plot points in conversation like they were something that really happened to them.

It’s just super nice to have this when so much “geeky” media is based in either i-swear-i’m-too-cool-to-be-having-fun-with-this cynicism or just plain being an asshole for the laughs. I mean, in a lot of the media I consume I have to cling to and desperately expand on the rare little moments of honesty, and with this show it’s like there are whole episodes where I’m almost embarrassed at how earnest it is because it just seems weirdly vulnerable in comparison. 

It’s just really nice. Refreshing, I guess!

Mai and Zuko got married, obviously, and the first thing Mai did when she moved into the Palace was adopt a cat. She named it “Your Honor”, simply so she could go around the palace shouting

“Zuko, I can’t find Your Honor! Zuko, do you know where Your Honor is? Zuko, you have to get Your Honor down from that tree! Zuko, Your Honor is terrorizing the turtle ducks again.”

WELL ASIDE FROM IT BEING SUPER COOL good job maui yet one more parallel with hercules    also maui is totally a scorpio rising with aries sun  and maybe some leo moon for good measure ask me more i dare you

and guess what? those stars dont stay the same all movie. nope. they change it up when maui gets his new tattoo (spoiler warning)
