it's kind of hard to comment on the unimportance or importance of any particular dsmp discourse now that's its been over for so long tbh. like sure it feels silly to argue over small stuff when you haven't been invested in the plot since 2022, but like, if people are debating over something that genuinely determines the quality of a story or character, i think that's a reasonable thing to still have an opinion about, even if the story is over lol. there's a reason people organize whole scholastic conferences to argue over star trek lore

Something that has been on my mind is what Kaz says to Nina at the end of Crooked Kingdom about Matthias's share of their money. He offers Nina that share, and then says, "I know it doesn't matter".

Kaz, who has spent this entire series insisting to the others that kruge means retribution, safety, success, comfort, and thus is the driving factor in his life, is sort of accidentally revealing how little he believes it. He knows Nina disapproves of his purported obsession with profit and is not motivated by money, and he also knows from personal experience that no matter how much he insists otherwise, having money will not fix what has happened to you. Maybe it will kind of buy you retribution or a degree of safety, but it will never bring back who you lost - it's too late for that. Kruge is a shitty consolation prize, and Kaz knows it. This is the only time he explicitly lets it on to the others - as emotionally constipated as he might act, he knows Nina's pain and knows that even suggesting that money would in any way fix it would be an insult.

Broke (2016): BBC Sherlock is a phenomenal piece of media and anything that seems like a flaw just hasn't been fully explored yet

Woke (2020): BBC Sherlock is an incredibly flawed series run by an egotistical writer, it never deserved the hype and is actively bad on so many fronts (especially representation)

Bespoke (2024): BBC Sherlock is flawed and bogged down by increasingly poor writing, which many fans refused to see while it was airing, leading to hugely misplaced expectations (particularly for the final series), AND it has the seeds of some compelling characterizations and portrayals, some genuinely solid performances, and touches--albeit imperfectly--on complexities that are still being discussed today (particularly as it relates to the relationship between Sherlock and John). The huge cultural impact of the show has created a massive pendulum effect in its public perception, leading to most people today remembering a caricature of the show (whether positive or negative) rather than appreciating its nuanced merits and failings...that being said Season 4 sucked

There's speculation that Floatshimmer's kits are Graysky's, since one of the kits are silver like him, you know, the dude that was made a warrior when she was a kit.

To be fair, Graysky is ridiculously young as well. He might have been described as being ready to be a warrior at the start of ASC, but he was born in Lost Stars and is only a little over a year old at the end of the last arc.

EVERYONE got hit with the Time Travel Beam... in fact. Funfact: RiverClan actually has always had a weird issue with their allegiance cats aging really fast.

Anyway, digressing. If it does pan out to have Graysky as the father...

Eventually I like the idea of Floatshimmer and Graysky being a couple (their names make me think of bright sunshine on a cloudy day, making the waves of the lake twinkle with light), but absolutely not while they're so young. Both of them need at least another year or so.

(At the earliest, have their kits mid-arc, ideally later.)

That said, I'm still willing to shuffle them both a bit to be closer in age. I'm growing interested in the idea that they're like, the cat equivalent of 18 and 19-ish. Young, dumb, impulsive, ended up with kittens looong before they were ready and it's impacting their relationship negatively.

Still deciding, though.

Hi!! I don't know if anyone has asked this before, but-- How did you go about posting your yan OCs for the first time? I absolutely LOVE yours and would love to share mine like how you post about yours, but It's soooo nerve wracking to start it... I will say that a while ago my blog was mainly DoL-centric with the exception of the occasional yan post reblog- but i honestly wish I branched out into that more early on, for some reason i was really fixated on keeping my blog centered around one thing only. At some point I just realised that. it's my blog. i should just do whatever I want lmao. and I think that's a good mindset to have tbh - its your house your rules babey

I don't know if there's anything in particular with how I did it that's remarkable in any sense, but I suppose I just tried to make sure i was presenting my oc's in a way that leaves a strong impression and is easy to digest: so a list of facts about them, some are just basic info, some are lore-motivated and some are just things i think would be funny LOL. and yanderes at their best are when they are being their most creepy irredeemable selves so I drew something extra for that too (in fact it was kind of a last-minute addition lol). but anywho i was just hoping to establish a strong impression of their characters ig.

but yes! the only real advice I stand behind is to do whatever you wanna do and have fun with it. that is easier said than done, but I think that my enjoyment of drawing and posting has really took off ever since i just stopped caring what others might think. Good luck to you and your oc's, im sure many people will be very excited about more yanderes in this world!!!!!!!!!
