What's wrong with being neutral? Your post has a neutral DNI is why I'm asking.

Being neutral is just a middle ground that means they're not taking a stance against pro/comshippers. Which seems harmless, but if the topic at hand is people who support pedophilia, incest, abusive relationships, and more, then going 'eehhh' isn't really a good thing, at least in my opinion. I'm just not comfortable having people interact with me or my posts who would even vaguely consider giving people like proshippers a platform or interact with them in any way. They're a hard DNI for a reason.

Even though it may seem silly, these labels do not mean the same thing! Each one has its meaning and use even though they sound "similar".

Proshipper:

A person who is "pro" (for) shipping in general. Typically refers to someone who follows the philosophy "ship and let ship" and ignore or blocks ships or shippers they are uncomfortable with. An anti-censorship stance that promotes currating your own experience online, and avoiding any content you don't want to interact with, while supporting the rights of others to create and consume any type of fiction they enjoy.

Your basic "idea" would be:

don't like, don't look

don't harass people, especially over fiction

ship and let ship

curate your own internet experience

tag your stuff and blacklist stuff

mind your own business and i'll mind mine

Comshippers - Comship

A ComShipper is someone who enjoys more complicated or complex ships. These can include "dead dove" content, morally gray, problematic, socially unacceptable, abusive, or toxic dynamics. Comshippers do not endorse these things in the real world, but enjoy them in fiction.

Most comshippers are proshippers, but MOST proshippers are not comship.

Hello, lovely people!

My name is Kit /kiːt/! And this is my general blog for ramblings about everything and nothing!

I love nostalgic things, particularly girly kids' media. I suppose I should call myself an artist, but I am deeply insecure about it, and trying to heal. Please be patient with me!

I am a selfshipper for Ludwig von Koopa [selective sharing], and an age regressor [little age undefined]. I previously had "Minors DNI" on my socials because I was anxious my presence could've been taken the wrong way, but now I'm more comfortable.

These two go hand in hand, because my s/i came into the picture when I was 13 in 2018, BUT they're seperate. So if you see me tackle more serious or mature themes with my s/i, don't panic. She's an adult character who just happens to regress as a coping mechanism, but it doesn't mean she can't do adult things (in her big space only)!

I'm trying to keep this account regressor friendly, to keep visitors and myself safe. Unless explicitly stated, I try to keep my non-regressed accounts PG-13, there may be some swearing though.

About the selfshipping thing!

I've always loved Ludwig, but I struggled to articulate it due to the rampant cringe culture of the 2010s (I'm from 2005, so I was too young to access the internet in the 2000s properly). He was always on my mind, naturally ebbing and flowing even if I tried to suppress it, trying to pick other characters that suspiciously matched his personality that were more "mature" or "normal", but nothing hit the same.

The time my love for him became official was somewhere in the summer of 2018. I was playing New Super Mario Bros Wii, and enjoyed myself until I reached the Sky [World 7]. I was suffering, and relied on the propeller mushroom to survive.

Then I reached the fortress Ludwig was in. His soft baritone voice made my scrambled, autistic head (going through the diagnosis process, trying to process the harassment at school, slowly realising i was an atheist, it was a lot) suddenly all relaxed out of nowhere. I honestly owe my f/o to Mike Vaughn's single chuckle, haha. By then all these old feelings came flooding back, and my proper hyperfixation started, which resulted with my s/i coming into the picture

on August 9th, 2018

Her name is princess Elizabeth Celeste of Skyland, old name is princess Elizabeth Melody Toadstool, if I recall correctly. I don't know, I deleted my old deviantart posts out of shame. She's not exactly my s/i, but many of our traits overlap, and I project myself onto her a lot. Here's her current look!

The current story, in shortcut, is that Princess Elise was Princess Peach's strategist and protégé, training to become a future empress of Skyland, but due to her autistic traits she was often overlooked despite being more than capable.

Ludwig realised Elise is the one pulling the strings and started to target her, but soon realised she's not with his enemies, but rather follows them out of fear of Mushroom Kingdom's wrath, and her father's disappointment if she gets sent back to Skyland.

When she noticed that Ludwig cared for her more as an enemy than her environment she lived in, she began to sabotage Princess Peach from the inside, drawing the duo even closer.

They're essentially enemies and lovers at the same time, pretending to hate each other as strategists on the opposite sides of the war, but going through their mutual first love in private.

Hi! While I am not identifying with any of the pro- or anti- labels, I do support most principles that the proshipping community upholds (anti-censorship, anti-harrassment, etc). I do have one question, however, although it isn't related to the conflicts between the groups themselves: what are the similarities and differences between comship and darkship? So, the terms themselves tend to just kinda be utilized interchangeably in my mind...so naturally, I then tricked everyone who joined my server into giving their input on what the terms meant (sorry folks). From all that and a bit of normal research, here's what I determined.

ComShip - a ship with more complicated attributes, such as immortalXmortal, humanXnonhuman, etc. These ships CAN be taboo, but do not have to be to be considered a ComShip.

DarkShip - a ship with taboo attributes, such as brotherXsister, adultXminor, etc.

However, others out there, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ^^

So this also isnt a confession and i apologize, but i read your 'isnt ETL proship' post and i like how you explained it, this is abit of a different topic but with 'comshipping' isnt this complex shipping (im sorry this is what ive been told this is what it stands for), and when i ask them to explain people state its mostly dynamics like non-human x human or things of the similar sort? And then, if this is the case does this make someone who self ships with a non-human character like, comship? Or is comship something different?? This has been a concern for me as a few of my f/os arent human, more like, monsterly in a way, and ive mooted people who selfship with other non-human characters like uh for example transformers and such, along with more humanoid/monsterly characters. Hello! So, to answer-

Comship stands for "complex ship", yes, but it also stands for "complicated ship". It's essentially a synonym/rebrand for proship, they largely mean the same thing. There isn't a clear and specific definition for what comship means, but it is known that they support the same things proshippers do.

Human x non-human isn't inherently comship or proship, so no worries at all! It would only be pro/comship if the non-human in question was a literal animal (like fully animal mentality too) or a species that doesn't have human intelligence and ergo couldn't consent. If the non-human (or monster) can completely comprehend what's happening and consent to the relationship then it's perfectly fine to selfship with them
