Okay so, after I reblogged that other post I realized that I also didn’t actually even know how to “call for a ceasefire,” OR what it means to say/do that, so I looked around and found this amazing piece of information. It tells about what all the Humanitarian things MEAN!!

If you're looking for a way to help, consider donating to some of the charities listed in the article. Generally the Red Cross and MSF are good standbys, but there are others that are more specific listed here.

Challenge #04114-K096: Earned Gratitude
H - I have.... WAY too much Time.
G - "You've worked hard you've earned that pay."
H - I didn't do that much.
G - "You signed the agreement including how much we were going to pay you."
H - Are you certain about this?
G - "Of course, your work has been absolutely invaluable to us."
H - It still... feels like I'm cheating... ripping you off.
G - "I assure you, you're not." -- The New Guy
I honestly don't know what to do with it. I'm just an orbital collections agent. I fly my netship through the shipping lanes and cash in anything I catch for a little extra on top of earning my living. It's not much, but it's necessary. And it's not as if I had the skills to do much else.
I used to work all day just to live to work the next. And then I did something that got me fired and threatened with prison. I answered a distress call and towed an Alliance ship to an abandoned military facility.
I just about destroyed my netship engine doing it. Inertia's always been my copilot, but these folks were running on fumes and stale air. Every orbital collector I knew also knew we could recharge our air for free because the army never reclaimed their algae farms. Milking fresh air from them is casual crime that everyone ignores. Going on there to cake a few algae cakes is written off as an over-sensitive alarm system. Letting extra-nationals on there to just wander around and see where the gutting happened? That's a step too far.

Hey everyone! We'd like to direct your attention to Ahmed Azmi's campaign. He, his parents, and his wife are all trying to evacuate Gaza. His house has been destroyed, and his wife is 7 months pregnant and urgently needs to evacuate to safety. They are currently VERY low on funds, but together we can change that!
@imjustheretotrytohelp is offering art commissions to raise money for Ahmed and his family - please consider commissioning her!!! You can also find her on twitter at @/Mihamiha_art.
This fundraiser has been vetted by Help Gaza (line 1022), and you can find Ahmed on twitter at @/AAhmd27716.

“If you think the fight against intolerance doesn’t concern you, think again! Ending racism is good for everyone. It’s more than time to stop discrimination based on the color of your skin or origin. Don’t let your biases take the best of you. Learn, speak up, and act!” - Tenoch Huerta

thinking about steph & jay parallels.
you've heard it all but i'm thinking about robin jay (half) jokingly saying that his calling is to be a medic. i'm thinking about robin steph's righteous anger blended with the need for being seen, about her drive for vengeance.
i'm thinking about steph's "rebirth" as a volunteer in the medical field aiding in humanitarian relief efforts. i'm thinking about post-res jay's international murder spree as an assassin in training, about his righteous anger blended with the need for being seen, about his drive for vengeance.

AN OPEN LETTER to THE PRESIDENT & U.S. CONGRESS
Enforce Leahy! No funding to IDF troops who’ve committed human rights abuses!
354 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!
I’ve just learned from Pro Publica that “a special State Department panel recommended months ago that Secretary of State Blinken disqualify multiple Israeli military and police units from receiving U.S. aid after reviewing allegations that they committed serious human rights abuses.” But Blinken has failed to act on the proposal. This in the face of growing international criticism of the Israeli military’s conduct in Gaza.
I’m livid about this. We cannot keep sending unconditional military aid to anyone, regardless of whom, if they are committing human rights abuses. We have Leahy laws to prevent it, and they are not being enforced here. It’s unacceptable.
The U.S. government needs to stop giving the Israeli government a blank check. Israel has a right to defend itself, of course, but the abuses described in Pro Publica’s report can’t be defined as self defense under anyone’s definition of the term. They’re abhorrent and our tax dollars mustn’t be spent on them. Thanks.
