“Dammit please don’t start crying” for the na bros 🙏🏽
I dont write enough of these two, let's change that, context of au in the tags
Nothing was going to plan right now, absolutely nothing, they had burned the cake to smithereens, it tasted fine, at least that's what Arthur said, but his taste buds were not to be taken seriously, and besides it looked quite like a cowpat.
He had gone off to stall Ivan somewhere, he was a good liar so they believed that he would be able to, Jack and Eleanor had been taken care of via an afterschool club that ran till 6, most ran till 4:30, but the science club was having its awards ceremony today so they were dealt with through an almost uncanny twist of fate.
Now it was up to those two to keep everything together, and both were failing miserably, Arthur had told them just to, in his words "Don't set the house on fire, flood it or find another way to destroy it." Those were his exact words, at least he wasn't expecting very much, though for Matthew at least that made it worse, not entirely sure why himself, but it made it worse.
Alfred knew Matthew tended to get volatile when under this kind of pressure, easily the most rational of all 6 of them, but even he had his moments, and by how anxious and fidgety he was now, this seemed like it was getting to be one of those moments, it was best to avoid him in such situations, Alfred knew this, off by heart nearly, it had happened enough times before that he knew what he was doing.
Matt was rushing about at almost a dizzying speed, pacing in the way Alfred usually did when excited, though more fevered, and of course, far less joyous, even sitting his leg was bouncing up and down irritatingly fast, Father had always been harder on Matthew than he had been on him, Alfred may have been the oldest, but he needed the spare to be even better, that was years ago, Father was dead now, but the remnants of that were still present, Arthur and Ivan's standards were odd, likely because they hadn't interacted with children for decades before them, their whole thing was that they could be really good at what they liked to do and be good enough to get decent grades at.
Matt had loosened up a lot under this system, because even under the agency, the teachers there were teachers of adults, they expected more of him than he was comfortable to provide, Alfred could usually keep up, and Jack wasn't expected to just yet, and he was stuck in the middle.
Matthew had gone pale.
This was not good, he stilled too, deep breath, that failed, he started to pace again, went up to his room, and closed the door behind him. Fuck.
Alfred rushed upstairs, Matthew had barricaded the door, he spoke through it, he was loud enough "Dammit, Mattie please don't start crying, let me in?"
Matthew didn't want to, he was being foolish, stupid, a fucking idiot, but he did anyways, Alfred immediately grabbed him and didn't let him go for a while, he may have not had the most tact when it came to...just about everything, but sure as hell could he try, Matthew was taller than him already, lanky bastard he was, Matthew stilled, either to do with comfort or because Alfred was stronger than he looked and his ribs were being abused.
A wet cough "Alfred...!"
He let go, "Are you good bro?"
"Yes, yes, I'll be fine."
He could hear Jack coming into the driveway, this was not good "Mattie, calm down dude."
"I am calm now, you are the one panicking Alfred?"
"Right, right." The door opened, Alfred and Matthew snuck down, Matthew's eyes were still a little red, Arthur caught the slightly wet look Matt had going on, but had absolutely no idea why that was the case, had he hurt himself?
The house was still in one piece and a twice over showed nothing, Ivan was occupied by Jack and Eleanor excitedly telling him something about snakes, Arthur caught their eyes and tried to question, Matthew shook his head and looked up the stairs, this was to be discussed later, but for now, the planning had to commence.

You dont need much of it#basically in this au Alfred matt jack and zee (eleanor) had their parents killed by the spy agency that Arthur and Ivan work at#and bc arthur and Ivan are like in their late 40s at this point (it starts with them being like 47 to 48 and will end with them at lik52 to#they cannot physically deal other the demands of the job as well anymore and they get delegated to be informants#going undercover as a married couple with 4 kids. may i present: The Fuckers(tm)
uhh some notes.
i decided to redesign the pdh uniforms bc in my mind this place is a Low Decile New Zealand Public School and u can pry that headcanon out of my cold dead rigour mortis'd hands.
travis isnt here bc i feel like theyd hang out w the not alone buddies during hs more than w dante. like he n dante r still mates but they have different friend groups that dont rlly merge until theyre in uni
laurance had the most Egregious mullet/skullet abomination known to mortalkind all throughout high school. he only cut it off in his first year of uni bc he lost a bet.
werewolves have pointed ears when theyre tucked. dante isnt a werewolf but he is mer'ai so he has pointed ears n is lying to everyone abt his heritage.
aaron has pit vipers to hide his eyes instead of that awful fuckass bandanna bc im operating on the same rules as most stuff w gorgons/medusa in that sunnies can prevent petrification or other sight-based curses.
also he really wants to wear boots like blaze but his dad makes him wear loafers. hes still mad abt it.
also the plaster on his face isnt from a fight. its from when he cut himself shaving.
blazes socks r a reference to his shirt in starlight (dw i wont be murking him he n garroth deserve to have silly werewolf shenanigans together).
dante either wears fuckboy shoes (like in this pic) or crocs.
laurance is the converse bisexual to garroths vans gay.
uhh yeah. the goobers of all time. i had Severe war flashbacks to my high school days drawing this but i was also cackling the entire time so do w that what u will lmao

did jennie or the pinks used to help yn with her homework when she was in middle/high school?
OOOUUUU i love this question sm. i love every question you guys send me abt the variable LMAO. BUT YES AND NO...
rosie def couldn't help the poor girl out most of the time bc 💀 i mean hello she dropped out of hs so once y/n's hw got past 2+2 and the alphabet there wasn't much she could help with 😭 BUT once y/n started taking guitar lessons, rosie was alw there to help w things relating to music theory or art! she'd take y/n out to some art exhibits js to show her how creativity looks in different things
jisoo def would help more with the history. since y/n attended grade school in new zealand, her korean history knowledge wasn't up to par with the korean school system's. so she alw goes to her jisoo unnie for help w it. she made it REALLY fun too tho, alw showing her props/pictures and taking her to museums and landmarks to see history in real life bc she didn't want y/n to js learn it from a boring book
lisa would 100% help y/n out with science. like when y/n was learning about mammals, lisa took her to the zoo and paid for a private guide to learn more abt the animals and how they lived. ofc hs science was a bit different, but when y/n was younger, lisa was alw helping out w the science projects. let's js say when y/n won the science fair with her volcano project, it was 100000% lisa's idea
now jennie excelled in school. she was top of her class and did everything perfectly bc hello she's a perfectionist. when she was younger, like early grade school and middle school, jen would help her a lot w math hw and the occasional english projects. (one time y/n didn't tell jennie she had a project due until the night before and the girl nearly had a heart attack when she found out LMAO) but once y/n got to hs she was pretty solid w her schooling and didn't need help anymore
minor spoiler: but y/n wasn't alw a bad student...

"Simple" does not mean "crappy".
Just cause you have a sword and I a club, does not mean I'm not capable of beating the living SHIT out of you.
This kinda a callout to people who write about improvised weapons/simple weapons in a negative light.
Good example: Pitchfork. It's a farm tool and it has some SHARP AS FUCK points to it. In steady hands, it can be an excellent weapon. You can use it as a spear/short pike. You can whack people with it cause it's got good weight. You can even give someone the catclaw treatment XXL with the tines by slashing. You can catch weapons in it and spin them out of an opponents hands.
Another example: javelin. They're simple to make but are devastating. You will rarely survive a clean hit from any sort of throwing spear.
Examples continued: sticks and rocks. Never underestimate the effectiveness of beating someone over the head with a stick or slamming a rock into their chest. Even good armor will have issues against shear concussion force. Or, employ the rock via sling. Or just drop it on them from high up.
Another thing to mention is bronze weapons. Bronze is in many ways an excellent material. While it doesn't have the hardness of iron or steel, it's still capable of fucking someone up. Bronze can also, despite popular opinion, be hardened. This is done by working the material with a hammer, causing the crystalline structure to compress, short explanation. While this still doesn't have the same hardness of hardened iron or steel, it dramatically increases the durability of the piece.
Whatsmore, many writers, historians, and such have a very "civilocentric" (which is a word I pulled out of my ass, but I will define as... uh. I need a language expert @mommalosthermind, I apologize for name dropping but you seem to have a grasp of this based on your blog) view of history, and often weapons.
IE: a sword (or other object) has to be metal.
It don't. There are WORLDS of cultures (not just non-western ones, though they are really easy to use. I'd draw your attention to the celts and Germans but that would mean I'd have to get out my notes from HS and extended education so well skip that.) WHERE SWORDS ARE NOT METAL. Take a trip down to the Kiwiville Before the Tommies (New Zealand, and brevities sake Polynesia) and you'll find any manner of examples in many different materials ranging from the possibly impractical (shark tooth) to the downright terrifying (sharpened fucking WOOD) that sit in the category of a sword.
Or we could take a trip across the pacific (or just far south for me) to Mexico, where the Aztecs and other cultures used obsidian blades glued to wooden paddles to achieve an effect something between a sawblade, cleaver, and club. Said weapons were VERY effective, and in some cases may have even destroyed European swords in action.
In similar style there's also evidence that atleast one person naped some flint into a blade shape, and the glued it to some backing. They then probably became the single most stabby motherfucker on the block (flint wounds are fucking terrifying, cause they often come with a serrations status effect).
To conclude this rant.
There is an entire wide world of THINGS to use. ANYTHING is a narrativly possible and reasonable weapon.
#i rant on the can#young man yells at confused writers for no reason more at 8#my fuckin foot in it#history: its not just for funny suit people with shiny paper#source: my ephemeral bussy#fite me

If he started doing all brand new stuff with Taylor like partying in Berlin or vacationing in New Zealand you'd be saying it was fake because 'HaRRy NeVeR doEs tHat.'
they said that about the flowers him and Taylor sent in Vancouver 😂 “he doesn’t sign his name HS”
It is true that the goal posts are perpetually being moved by those who don't want to believe he's in this relationship. But it's been years and he basically does the same thing every damn time. This is just who boyfriend Harry is.

In other news, we have several complaints about John Remelard and his activities in the neighborhood. And they're sending them to their people, but we have them too. he's loud, and he's being boisterous and rude. Pretty soon he'll run around the neighborhood.
--- There are some things that we need to discuss We're going to get to them at the. time.
-- Along with the stashes and caches the nuclear bunkers. and cities John John. Rimallard had areas within regular cities. He still does their steadily not going to the other cities. They're blockaded. but he is being attacked by most other groups. And it is. a horrible day for him. He is in cities like Miami. and they are going in bunches to pull him out. and get him out. And he is losing.. We suspect this population is going. to go down another two. percent in the next two weeks. And that's mainly because those are the people in the separatist cities. and the fleets in the bunkers. And he's going to lose all of that. And once he loses those the others will become aggravated and agitated and they will reduce while that's going on actually. And they will be at 2.5% and then during the process of the city's disapp the city's disappearing and bunkers and ships that will turn into about 1.8%. We estimate and because of that process they will find out that he is controlling the money centers and those money centers he's going to lose control over at that time they will start going after him again. in earnest then they'll do it the whole time when he's down to about 1.5 percent they will. see and hear him as loud as loud as hell and he is a rancid person in very in very mean and unscrupulous and it will take all that in order to get our son stuff and that's why we're doing it And the moron is just a little baby and defiant until he's dead. And he has killed all his people.

How to Export Honey from India
Honey has been an integral part of Indian culture for centuries, featuring prominently in traditional remedies, Ayurveda, and daily consumption. Not only is it cherished in Indian households, but it also holds significant religious importance, being one of the five foods offered to Hindu devotees as per Sanatana Dharma. This deep-rooted tradition, combined with the global demand for natural and health-conscious products, positions India as a major player in the honey export market.
As of 2020–21, India's honey exports were valued at US$96.77 million, reflecting the burgeoning potential of this sector. This comprehensive blog explores the opportunities for honey export from India, the leading exporters, and the updated honey HS codes.
Why Start the Honey Export Business in 2024?
India's agricultural heritage and the global demand for honey make starting a honey export business in 2024 a lucrative opportunity. The trend towards natural sweeteners over sugar and artificial substitutes is driving the demand for honey worldwide. Consumers are increasingly health-conscious, and willing to pay a premium for high-quality, natural products like honey.
India, being the world's sixth-largest honey exporter, stands to benefit significantly from these global trends. The unique qualities of Indian honey, coupled with rising international demand, make 2024 an opportune year to enter the honey export business. However, success in this venture requires careful preparation, market research, and an understanding of export data.
How Much Honey is Exported from India?
India's honey exports have shown a steady increase in recent years. In the fiscal year 2022-23, India exported 79,929.17 metric tonnes (MT) of honey, valued at over US$203 million. This marked an increase from the previous year, where 74,413.05 MT of natural honey worth $163.77 million were exported. The export value further rose to $190.06 million by February 2023.
India ranks as the seventh largest producer and exporter of honey globally. In 2021-22, an estimated 133,200 metric tons of honey were produced in India. The domestic honey market was valued at Rs 23.3 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow at an 8.4% CAGR, reaching Rs 38.8 billion by 2028.
Honey Export from India: Top Export Destinations
Indian honey enjoys significant demand in several international markets. The top destinations for Indian honey exports are:
United States: The US is the largest importer of Indian honey, accounting for nearly 80% of exports in some years. The demand for high-quality honey varieties is growing rapidly in the US market.
Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia is another key market, with a preference for lighter-colored honey.
United Arab Emirates: The UAE is a rising market for Indian honey, driven by factors such as a growing population and increasing disposable income.
Bangladesh: Indian honey is in high demand in Bangladesh due to its low price and perceived health benefits.
Canada: With a rising preference for honey, Canada represents a developed market where Indian honey can meet the demand.
These markets highlight the thriving export potential for Indian honey, with the United States leading by a significant margin. In the fiscal year 2020-21, 59,999 metric tonnes of natural honey worth Rs. 716 crore (US$96.77 million) were exported from India, with 44,881 MT going to the United States alone.

Hey!! Not to be weird but I saw your tags on the post about the Greek church in Turkey getting converted into a mosque — my family has a really similar situation where half of them skipped town and went to Bulgaria and Romania after WW1! I know I have at least one relative buried in Sofia and possibly another in Bucharest(?) is there a large community? I thought this was just something we did (foolishly) and I’ve never heard more about it from anyone else
don't worry, you're not being weird!!!!(and even if you are, it's not a bad kind of weird. And I am also a very weird person anyway lol)
(Hope this makes sense, sorry but this answer is kind of a mess tbh)
I dunno, I only know so much from what my mother hs told me, who was told this by my grandfather(aka her dad) who was told this by my great grandfather (aka the guy who fled to Romania from Istanbul).
There isn't a community of greeks from Istanbul I'd say, although we have sadly pretty much lost contact with our greek side of the family (or are keeping kinda low contact with the ones who live in my city, rlly I only know a few ppl from my mother's side, but that is also the case with my father, who is of romanian & ukrainian descent).
I know there is a greek minority in Romania, however but it has a lnmger history (tho if any constantinopolitan greeks fled to Romania I'd guess they probably joined the communities of greeks that were already there(or mingled with romanians, in my case). I'm not from Bucharest, so I can't say much about it.
I know the story of how my great grandfather came to Romania however. You see, after WW1 he went here to search for his brother (or so the tale says, but it might have been bcs of other reasons such as. Well. Yknow) bcs he was missing i guess. There, he did not find his brother, but instead he met a woman from the greek minority from Romania, and married her. Their marriage...was not perfect but out of it came some children, including my grandfather, then the rest is history.
I know, though, that the rest of my great grandfather's family, mostly his siblings went to other places, such as Greece (I hear, specifically Athens) or to New Zealand/Aotearoa. I know that before my grandfather(aka his son) died, but after the end of communism in Romania I think, this greek part of my family (i think the ones in Aotearoa to be specific, but I am not sure), came to visit. Then he died (in like '93) and we lost contact with them.
I hope this is a good answer, though sadly we don't really have a community(i heard, tho there there are some constantinopolitan greeks in Athens). I am trying to learn greek, for myself and for them. Though I know there is a dialect of greek, the Istanbul Greek Dialect, but I wasn't taught it cause neither my mother was and I dunno if I can find a way to learn that, so I am learning standard greek i guess.
Thank your for asking me!!! I am glad I found someone who has a similar story to mine, in some way. I never head about anyone that had a family with a history similar to mine.

Process of Researching
As we were about to begin our research, we separated ourselves into pairs where we focused on two seperate categories and created two subcategories for each,
the pairs were; Hemansha and I Alevels to University -A/L to abroad -A/L to local university Idusara and Semini Olevels to University -O/L to abroad -O/L to local university
Although all of us had agreed to use the same set of questions for both categories, to ensure there is reliability as well. Hemansha and I mainly focused people who were available readily at hand and also preferred to use participants who were not apart of AOD, so that it would be more generalizable.
the responses we received were different especially in terms of culture and syllabus, this is due to each individual's preference and personality.
the information to which i had received came from two classmates who had undergone the same London A/L process and had gone abroad (Australia, and New Zealand)
Australia
When u switched from als to Uni, what did you notice different in teachers? I noticed they didn't really care about students actually learning. Of course they are extremely strict when coming to meeting deadlines for assignments but hardly caring about how much students learn and if they understand the subject content. You just become a nameless face in a crowd of 50 to around 400 other students.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the syllabus between uni and als? Advantages is university doesn't solely focus on a final exam, they structure their syllabus on a weekly basis, whereas A levels is dependent on 2 exams per subject which doesn't really help students in getting extra credit. Disadvantages would be that university syllabus is made in a way that you need to have prior knowledge or you'll easily fall behind whereas A levels goes more in depth for the foundation of each subject. How was the schl culture different to Uni culture? How did u grow accustomed to it and adapt (if u did) School has a sense of unity that university doesn't have, once you finish your lecture everyone is out the door while the lecturer is still talking whereas in school, everyone bounced off ideas with the lecturer and cleared their doubts. Best way to adapt is by making friends in your classes who you can talk about the syllabus and just general thoughts on that class.
What are some of the interesting shifts in class dynamics u see in Uni? Certain students will only interact with their own friends, it becomes difficult to approach people a week or 2 into classes because they stick to whoever they initially familiarised with again like I said there is no real sense of unity, its more of an individual task you finish and just head to your home, next lecture or meeting
New Zealand
When u switched from als to Uni, what did you notice different in teachers? All the HS teachers who said the uni teachers would care lied. They don't really mind most things like leaving to go to the bathroom or eating/drinking in class or even talking, as long as you don't disrupt the whole lesson. They're pretty informal and sometimes closer to students because of that (depends on class size) and most of them are a but more enthusiastic about lessons and teaching in general, possibly cause its semester 1 but idk. But actually the London A level teachers are pretty similar to uni lecturers, the real difference is from like middle/upper school to uni.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the syllabus between uni and als? Honestly right now the content I'm studying is mostly the same as A levels for the subjects I have in common because I'm doing the core courses of my degree. It's a huge advantage that I'm familiar with it because lecturers don't actually teach this stuff much during class. You're expected to learn using the given materials and recordings at home and come prepared for class.
How was the schl culture different to Uni culture? How did u grow accustomed to it and adapt (if u did) Soo different omg. Particularly because I'm at uni in a different country as well, on top of going from a private, Christian, all-girls school. Uni is a lot more loose and relaxed like there's literally a bar on campus… that we're encouraged to go to?? It's a completely different atmosphere and it's weird not having your friends and the culture you grew up in. My suggestion and what's worked for me so far is literally just be nice and go to events a lot!!! And not just like clubbing (I didnt) or parties, tho you can do that, I mean like when clubs put on activities or are hosting launches at the start of the semester, go for them and talk to people. Making friends at uni is honestly not hard. That said, also don't worry if you miss one or two events u wanted to go for, I missed out on a whole bunch or skipped them (and subsequently, felt like i was missing out) but I've definitely still made friends. Figure out a schedule that works for you!! I organised my classes so I have a lot of free time to do the actual studying required and still have time to rest, socialize and cook. Try not to fall behind on little things like the quizes or weekly assessments, modules etc… if u do, be straight up with the lecturer and explain your situ and then get a concession! Cry! Like a lot! You're literally leaving everything you've ever known behind for a new environment, you're allowed to grieve. I cried so many times and probably will a lot more, but u have to get used to getting back up afterwards. U will definitely feel better after a good cry, some water and a nap.
What are some of the interesting shifts in class dynamics u see in Uni? Literally no one cares. Guaranteed. Do what you want just don't bother others. Most people are pretty nice and if not you can talk to people that are. But there's a lot of friends that you'll have ONLY in class, who u may stop being friends with the minute the sem is over or something. It happens, if u don't want it to, make an effort to be closer to those people before the sem ends. If they're interested yay! (Oh god group assignments with the dumbest reasons for grouping are a bit of a nightmare.)

Helsingin Sanomat carried an interview with Nokia's CEO Pekka Lundmark, asking him why the company is in trouble yet again.
On Thursday the company said it may lay off up to 14,000 of its employees around the world, with nearly 450 of them reportedly in Finland.
In the last few years, Nokia has been able to expand its market share through the introduction of new network products such as 5G infrastructure, but global markets have unexpectedly cooled down.
In response to the declining demand, the company has unveiled cost-cutting measures, with plans to reduce costs by at least 800 million euros over the next three years, resulting in the elimination of between 9,000 and 14,000 jobs, 447 of which in Finland. Currently, Nokia employs 86,000 workers worldwide.
The slower rollout of 5G mobile networks and services has played a pivotal role in this reduced demand, Lundmark told HS. Telecom operators have been more conservative in building 5G networks than initially expected. Worldwide, only 25 percent of cell towers outside of China have been upgraded to 5G.
Despite the challenges, Lundmark said Nokia remains optimistic about the mid-term. However, market recovery remains uncertain due to various factors, such as macroeconomic conditions, inflation, interest rates, and political crises.
Lundmark added that the company is confident that improvements will come, but it's unclear how long it will take to mount such a comeback.
Finland's new citizenship requirements
In the wake of Interior Minister Mari Rantanen's (Finns) announcement on tightening citizenship criteria, tabloid Ilta-Sanomat compared Finland's proposed citizenship law to other European countries.
The current criteria for Finnish citizenship requires applicants to pass a language test (Finnish or Swedish) and to live in the country for five years before applying. In the newly-announced plans, in addition to a tougher language test, there will also be income requirements and a separate citizenship test. Additionally, the time of residency required to apply for citizenship will change from five to eight years.
The paper found that Sweden had some of the loosest citizenship criteria as it only required five years of residency and had no language or citizenship tests.
On the other end of the spectrum, Spain had some of the strictest citizenship criteria, requiring 10 years of residency as well as a language proficiency test, a citizenship test and proof of adequate income.
IS noted that 13 out of 27 EU member states feature citizenship tests while 22 have obligatory language tests.
Meat labeling on Wolt
Farmers' union newspaper Maaseudun Tulevaisuus (MT) examined how consistently restaurants on the delivery platform Wolt explain where their meat comes from. The paper went to 65 Wolt-listed restaurants in Tampere and Helsinki to find out.
While Wolt requires restaurants to list the country of origin of the meat they sell, MT found many omissions. Wolt attributed this to human error that can occur when a restaurant updates a menu, for example.
As far as listing Finnish meat, pizza and kebab restaurants were the most consistent performers, according to MT. In the Helsinki area, several restaurants clearly indicated the origin of the meat, and in many cases the meat was Finnish.
MT noted in the case of Chinese restaurants, there was almost no use of Finnish meat in their sample pool, and chicken was mostly from Thailand, but also Brazil, Lithuania and Poland. However, the restaurants were open about the origin of their meat.
According to the paper, Wolt-listed Nepalese restaurants did not mention the origin of the fish they used on the app, but often noted that their lamb — a staple in South Asian cuisine — usually came from New Zealand.

My Fandom Journey: Manga
Yesterday I rambled about anime and today I'll be rambling about manga. How I got started what titles I've read and how I found what genres, authors and styles I liked. Again this is a broad topic so I'll get into more specific anime/manga fandoms later on.
So I started reading manga when I was maybe around 13-14, when I started high school (HS is 5 years in New Zealand). I found manga tankoubon in Borders (oof throwback). I'm not 100% certain about this but I think the first manga I picked up was either Death Note or Fruits Basket, and that was because I was familiar with the anime. So I read these manga series and realized that the original source material had way more info and subtlety compared to the animes. From there I would borrow manga from my local library in bulk (love libraries, I highly recommend).
I started with the manga that had animes that I watched. Obviously the library had a pretty limited stock at the time (it shared a bookshelf with western comics) but they had the mainstream titles. Obviously it wouldn't have a complete series so once I reached a certain point I would continue reading the manga online or wait until the library ordered the next volume. I think I only started reading online manga once I was 15ish and was a little more familiar with the internet.
My local library mostly had Tokyopop (another throwback), Madman Entertainment and Viz Media licensed titles. Eventually Kodansha would come around but initially we only had access to whatever titles Australia had access to (Madman Entertainment).
Again I ended up reading Shonen stuff first so, Bleach, Shaman King, Hunter X Hunter, Naruto (I still haven't actually finished Naruto...), Rave Master, Flame of Recca and One Piece. For Shojou titles I believe I started with Fushigi Yugi, Ceres Celestial Legend, Peach Girl, Vampire Knight (never finished this either), Nana and Honey and Clover.
The titles I listed were essentially my "starter" manga and I've read more than that at this point but when I look at the shojou manga that I read as a pre-teen and compare it to now it's very clear that my tastes have changed and I would not re-read a lot of the titles I read back then. Some examples of manga I would not re-read: Intant-teen: Just Add Nuts (This was hella weird, playing with age-gap relationships and I'm just not a fan of kids aging up in this way because their mind is still a kid!) and Absolute Boyfriend (I dunno, the android 2nd ML was kind of unique but I could not get into it). There was also that shojou about a dog that turned into a human and I am not about that life.
Moving on, this is getting kind of long. I've had a lot of phases with manga, I've read sports, romance, slice of life, supernatural, fantasy, martial arts, battle, food. I think the only genres I'm not that into are ecchi/harem, mecha and sci-fi (there are exceptions to this one). I might do separate posts on my favorite genres but I just wanted to do a little intro to my manga journey. If you've read my media consumption post you'll see what my current manga reads are.
I'll end things here, my next post will be my K-pop fandom journey so see you then.
Bye-bee~
