As a box turtle, Mikey can close his shell completely to keep out anything that might get in to bother him! Like annoying brothers, for example. Outta sight, outta mind lol

I used to make tons of Christmas cookies with extended family that I would bring home after the holiday, but alas, every single one would disappear come morning without a crumb for me. Either Santa stuck around another night or I lived with ravenous wolves rather than people! I ended up having to hide the stash to dole them out at a reasonable pace (while saving myself my share) lol

I know it is trying to be emotionally resonate and the flute is pretty but...#It really does have the energy of “Okay thanks for listening to my tragedies and traumas. I don't know how to segue out of this.”#This madam lan design is inspired by Qourmet's design! Really good stuff that I was not able to do more with in this one panel.#Speaking of...I know it is ambiguous on purpose and we are only told what happened through LXC's POV but...#I always interpreted madam lan's passing as a suicide. I think LXC was told it was illness to soften the blow.#She was stuck in a house with maybe a servant coming by to give her food. One day a month she saw her children.#Of course she was warm and loving in their memories-#She was trying to give them a version of her that would be remembered as such. She wanted to protect them from the truth.#She did her best but she was already dead a long time ago. She must have felt like a ghost haunting a house.#Love to her was waiting. And both her boys inherited that view of love.

I was wondering if you could share some recommended ways to protect oneself from fires and burns? like a charm for the person or the home perhaps? i'm trying to get inspired to device my own and having trouble figuring out how to best approach it. Thanks in advance. Have a great week!

I know of two traditionally based approaches meant to specifically protect the home against fire.

The first approach is ond I've never tried, but it entails acquring a Horse Skull and washing it with sanctified water while reciting Psalm 57 over it, then hanging or otherwise secreting it within the fireplace. I believe that the skull could be hung above the Hearth mantle as well, should the first option prove impossible.

The second approach instructs that, come noontide, a small Hexafoil is inscribed with hallowed oil on each mantelpiece in the house. Thereafter, a plain beeswax taper is anointed with the same hallowed oil, lit, and then held up to very slightly char each of these marks. As each Hexafoil is lightly blackened, the following Caim (protection prayer) from Carmina Gadelica is recited:

"God bless the house, From site to stay, From beam to wall, From end to end, From ridge to basement, From balk to roof-tree, From found to summit, from found to summit."

The remainder of the candle is then allowed to burn down within the Hearth. (Should you have neither hearth nor mantel, I believe a similar rite could be carried out by marking the lintels on the home.)

As for personal charms against burns, I'm actually not aware of any. I learned a lot more about healing/soothing burns.
