I GOT ACCEPTED INTO COLLEGE!
As someone who dropped out of Highschool and hasn't gotten a GED (yet) I am so freaking stoked!

To mask the shame I feel about having to drop out of school due to severe illness I now high five people and shout “me too” or “drop out club” when someone tells me they are a high school drop out. It’s been making me feel a lot better and seems to cut the tension that omission almost always causes.

Just learnt that Damian would’ve had a doctorate in geology at 7 years old if he hadn’t killed his tutor.
Am absolutely loving the fact that out of his entire family of super geniuses the literal 14 year old has come the closest to getting any sort of degree.

Bruce: Congratulations, Jason! You’re the first of my kids to graduate college!
Dick: Yeah, first and only one for all eternity!
Bruce: *Ignoring Dick by sheer willpower* Anyway, what are you planning to do next?
Jason: I think I’m going to continue my education in English Lit.
Bruce: *nervously* Great. You’ll get a Master’s Degree, right?
Jason: …
Bruce: …right?
Jason: Actually, I’m going for a PhD.
Bruce: This is a terrible joke. You’re over the supervillainy, right, Jay?
Jason: Look, my application to GothamU’s PhD program was accepted!
Bruce: No child! Of mine! Will get! A PhD!!!
Jason: I’m hoping to be a literature professor at GothamU, if I survive long enough.
Bruce: *screams incoherently*
Dick: I think you broke him.

Here's to us chronically ill/disabled people who couldn't finish school because of our health. We're not lesser people for it, and we aren't weak for it either. We have inherent value as people, education or not.

Does Hed help Les with grooming his back?
This is a really old ask about this post. And the answer is yes, definitely!
I ended up drawing them back in their room in Vibe City because I've been thinking a lot about them growing up there lately. This is a little before Les gets kicked out (big fight with dad) and they end up traveling around with Flea who is at uni at this point. (Flea isn't a local, he moved there because of uni a couple of years prior, and that's when Les and Hed met him. He is the only other mixed/non-fully funk troll they know at that point.)
In the drawing Hed is studying for a test. He's in the second year of high school when he drops out. This upsets and angers Les because he has good grades but Hed insists that they should form a band (like they used to talk about when younger) because he is secretly shit scared of letting Les live alone and fuck off to who knows where. - At this point in time Vibe City is pretty much grounded in the same location most of the time, and if Les doesn't have work, he likes to spend his time in the suburb/woods outside the city where he takes care of his beetle van, Scaab. And Hed is aware Les has been itching to leave the city for a while already...
This has been an unexpected mini lore dump, thank you for your time :P

Wait so Smith resents Mac for having a DISABILITY AND NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK BECAUSE OF IT??
Well, when you put it like that, yeah, it does sound pretty bad.
Smith has always been a man about constant self-sacrifice.
And he did his best to try and teach Mac the same. But Macintosh didn't have the same work ethic, and he always pushed back against Smith's attempts to get him to work the farm. Smith couldn't even begin to comprehend how Mac didn't have a drive to help, how Mac didn't jump up from his seat when he watched Smith struggle to lift bags or push carts.
Smith just needed a second set of hands, anywhere.
But Mac was at a combatant, bratty age and he didn't want to work 12 hours a day in the blazing heat. Why would he? He was just a kid. They both were, really.
And then the accident happened.
It admittedly shook Smith really hard. It was bad, and it could have been so much worse. Those were almost the last words he ever said to his little brother, after all. Smith still thinks about it so many years later. It was his fault.
Nowadays, they don't really fight like they used to. Sometimes Mac even helps around the farm, and Smith will happily laugh with him about the crazy shit he gets into with his friends. They're brothers, and at the end of the day, they love each other.
But deep down, Smith can't help but feel. Jealous?
It just ain't fair that Macintosh don't have to work and he gets paid more than Smith does doing weeks of CONSTANT back breaking labor. Mac had a single bad night, but Smith gave up years (and is still giving so much of himself).
It's not as plain as it seems on the surface.
It's hard.

"Patriarchy: famous something never supported by men with lasting relationships and consider themselves head-of-households/responsible for their families" actually is the kind of take you can only believe when you for your politics entirely of twitter imo.

April and karai hanging out after the last day of middle school like “you think high school will be better” and “probably not” but then they’re like “at least we’ll still be around to annoy each other”
But then Karai disappears and April heads on to high school alone :,) oh well at least she still had her turtles
