to the people who struggle with hygiene, kinda smell bad, have rooms filled to the brim with trash and dirty clothes, or can’t properly take care of themselves for whatever reason i love you a lot and i care about you a lot. able bodied and mentally well/stable people have no right to be commenting on our lives, they know nothing. go at your own pace, no matter how slow that pace may be.

Sending love to everyone who has health issues or chronic pain in parts of your body that aren’t usually socially acceptable to talk about. It’s frustrating to feel like you can never explain your pain to someone because it’s TMI and to feel like you have to hide it. Your pain is nothing to be ashamed of. I see you, and I’m sending you support and strength.

Me and my disabled friends always say "people say im strong but i don't WANT to be strong." If you feel this way right now i wish for you to reach a point in your life that easy and smooth, where you can have proper rest, peace, and happiness, whatever that may look like. I'm sorry you have to fight tooth and nail everyday right now, and i hope it ends soon.

stop villanizing disabled people. stop assuming we're just being lazy. stop assuming we could be trying harder. stop assuming that we'll "feel better" in a few weeks. stop assuming that we have the same energy levels as everyone else. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Gentle reminder that disabilities are disabling.
You're not some awful, bad person for not doing things that able-bodied people can do without negative consequences.
Sometimes, you haven't showered in a while.
Sometimes, your room is a mess.
Sometimes, the dishes pile up.
That doesn't make you a failure or deserving of less respect, support, and kindness.
Being disabled, having disabilities, and things that result from said disabilities, don't change the fact you deserve to exist. You deserve peace, and love.

it's never too late to start brushing your teeth again. i basically never brushed my teeth for a whole 10 years. a decade. A DECADE. i still struggle to brush my teeth once a week, but it all started with brushing my teeth once every few months. so i mean it when i say brushing your teeth once a week, a month, a year, or even a decade, is better than nothing.
and still, nothing is not shameful. it is not immoral to struggle with self care. and it is also not pointless to keep trying. anything you can do, even if its wiping plaque off with a towel, is enough. it is good to take care of yourself however you can, even if it's just trying to muster the will to. reading this post is good, too.
i believe in you and i am proud of you, even in the smallest of steps. it's okay. you can give yourself grace.

Cripplepunk, madpunk, and neuropunk aren't just "I'm disabled and also left-leaning". It's a specific realm of activism rooted in dismantling the systems that put disabled, mad, sick, etc folks at a disadvantage in society. This mean not only being against the very systems that harm us but also understanding their colonial origins and continued racist legacies. (Anti-ableism, anti-sanism, anti-psych, etc). This means not only just identifying and finding pride in your disability but also building and constantly evolving your understanding of disability and diversity and learning how you can change your worldview to accurately highlight the struggles of disabled people. (EVEN if it sometimes means you will be uncomfortable or unsure of unlearning some kinds of hate.)

Tips To Improve Your Health Mentally And Physically
Tumblr media
Healthy eating, regular exercise as well as getting adequate rest are essential for physical well-being. Mental health is equally important.
It's nothing major to eat fast food every once in a while or not do the gym, but if the habits are ingrained in your mind then you must alter your habits.
1. Eat Healthy
When it comes to nutritious eating practices, your most effective suggestion is to experiment with a few things and find what works for you. Eating healthily involves making good choices, and having a wide variety of food and not denying yourself or trying to get weightless.
Everyone seems to have opinions on what constitutes an "healthy" diet. And it's overwhelming and confusing. There are several easy methods to improve your diet, which will make you feel healthier. Once you like to find out more details about health, you've to sneak a peek at euclock.org/ site.
2. Exercise Frequently
Regular exercise can enhance your mood and reduces stress. It also increases good cholesterol, while reducing unhealthy cholesterol triglycerides. It may reduce the chances of developing heart diseases.
The exercise you do not have to be intense; even taking a stroll around the block, or attending a yoga class could help you improve your fitness. Spending time with your family or friends will be more enjoyable.
Make sure you do some moderate physical activity every throughout the day, when you can. Start beginning with smaller sessions. Do not forget to extend your muscles, and exercise at a spot where you feel energized or calm, like a beach or zen garden.
You can make it easier to stay with an exercise program by writing it down in your schedule.
3. Make Sure You Get Enough Sleep
Sleep has many benefits including increasing your health and mental wellbeing to reducing the chance of developing obesity and diabetes. Being able to sleep enough and obtaining high quality sleep will also improve your academic performance and at work.
Sleep problems are not unusual however they may increase the risk of developing heart disease or other serious health issues. Poor sleep can be characterized by the fact that you wake up to an alarm, feeling groggy and fatigued the next day, even after sleep for a whole night or feeling the symptoms of sleep-apnea.
Try to stick to a schedule, sleeping and getting up at the same time each day, not just on weekend days. Keep your bedroom quiet, dark and comfortable.
4. Keep hydrated
While you've probably heard 8 glasses of water are suggested every day, it doesn't mean it's the only way to get fluids. It is also possible to get water by drinking other beverages and taking in foods like fruit and soups with large amount of water (strawberries and cantaloupe). Drinking enough fluids is important when you sweat, and is even more important if you have certain health conditions such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Replace caffeinated drinks by drinking water, and choose the low-sugar variety of your preferred beverages. Be sure to check the color of your urine. A light, straw-colored colour is ideal. A dark yellow color can signify dehydration. You should keep a bottle of water at hand in case you're working out or travelling in hot weather.
5. Avoid Screen Time
We live in a digital world, and screens are an integral part of various jobs. But the amount of time you spend on them can interfere with daily activities and cause the feeling of. The process of tracking your use as well as setting limits will assist in improving your screen habits.
A long time spent in front of a monitor can lead to eye strain and posture problems like slouching that could cause back discomfort. Blue light makes it hard to sleep and remain asleep as the body's metabolism is less the hormone melatonin.
Making the decision to use your spare time without the aid of a screen can lead to better face-to-face social skills and can allow you the time to engage in more physical activities and reduces blood pressure, encourages healthy weight and keeps joints in good shape.

🎀 Hobbies 🎀
I feel as tho I don't have much time to do things besides school, work, some chores, and survive right now, but I've been thinking about some hobbies I enjoy and would like to incorporate into my life when I decide to make the time without burning out!
Reading - I used to be big on reading just about any books I could get my hands on. Then I was really focused on reading self help, and now that I haven't been reading at all, I've been thinking about getting back into reading. Always looking for book recommendations, and I do have my eye on some books I'd like to purchase.
Gardening - if I had the time and space, I'd love to have a flower garden or a vegetable garden. It always makes me happy when the fruits of my efforts come to life, so tending to plants and gardening sounds super fun and relaxing.
Video Games - I used to play video games on and off, but I wouldn't mind owning a PS4 or a Switch and spending some time playing video games whenever I'd want time to wind down.
Cooking/Baking - I love learning things, and the sense of pride I've gotten in the past when receiving praise for things I've cooked or baked has really driven me to want to increase my skill. I've only baked something from scratch once in my life, but I'd really like to expand my skills in making desserts.
Exercise - I'm talking all forms of it! Dancing, martial arts/kickboxing type activities, yoga, pilates, running, swimming, spin/cycling, weight lifting (again), calisthenics, all of it! I don't currently look like the exercise type but I find various forms of movement to be so fun! If I had more time, I'd be trying new things all the time!
Volunteer work - This is something I used to do all the time, and it's a hobby that I enjoyed that kept me humble. Not only that, but I thoroughly enjoy showing kindness and compassion to others. Making a difference in anuwau brings me so much joy, and I love meeting new people and learning their stories. I also would love to volunteer with animals, because they deserve so much love and affection too!
Drawing/Art - I used to draw for fun but when I started college, I didn't have the time to devote to continuously increasing my art skills. I still own a sketch kit, coloring materials, and several sketchbooks so it really is a matter of having time.
Crochet - The thought of making things that I can gift to others seriously makes me so excited!! Crochet seems like such a fun, crafty, relaxing activity and the added fun of gifting those crafts to others would make it so fun!!
Scrapbooking - I don't know if I'd ever do this one, but I do Ike the idea of keeping my memories in a physical space, and not just in like pictures on my phone.
Learning - if school wasn't crazy busy, I'd spend all my time learning languages (ASL, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Italian, etc), computer coding skills, how to make and do certain things, just anything I can do to keep my mind enriched.
Upcycling/Altering Clothes - I would love to upcycle or alter articles of clothes into more personalized pieces for myself. The thought of having a personalized, hand made closet full of clothes makes me really want to buy a sewing machine and learn how to use it to my advantage!
That's all I can think of for now that I'd like to someday incorporate into my life. Having hobbies is always so fun, but I've been so busy and tired that I don't mess with any of the hobbies I'd want to do. If anyone has any tips for time management, or resources for beginning new hobbies, please let me know!!
til next time lovelies 🩷

If you are technically capable of going out or doing something during a chronic illness flare-up, that doesn’t mean it isn’t debilitating. You shouldn’t have to push yourself through pain, and it's okay to say "I could but I shouldn't. I could but I don't want to."

deciding to do the ‘if this gets __ notes’ thing
if this gets 100 notes I will: not leave my phone in my bedroom at night, brush my teeth twice a day (I only do it once a day)
(edit) if this gets 300 notes I will: ask my mum for an autism assessment, finish some of my art WIPs (works in progress)
if this gets to 500 notes I will: try to always have a clean room, maintain a better sleep schedule
if this gets 1k notes I will: tell my sister (or at least hint) that I am a therian, tell my mum that I’m a lesbian
I think that’s it lol, if I’m getting a heap of notes, I’ll probably add another thing or two
