According to the way they adapted Fire and Blood in House of the Dragon, we can probably expect some changes in Dunk and Egg:
Dunk is actually the long lost son of Daemon Blackfyre and Dornish Daenerys Targaryen (y'know because EVERYONE has to have their parents explained)
Egg will not be loyal to Dunk, he'll be a total scumbag
Maekar DID kill Baelor on purpose.
Before Baelor dies he whispers that Egg should be King and Dunk must immediately be named a Kingsguard.
Aerion will commit like one actrocity and then get a redemption arc.
Bloodraven and Bittersteel are estranged lovers (this could work) and all this is a bitter divorce
Bloodraven gets his info by selling feet pics. The trees told him that's how Alicent did it.
Shiera Seastar DOES actually eat children and bathe in blood.
Daeron the Drunken will take so much fantasy cocaine/LSD that the whole thing was actually all an acid trip
Daemon II Blackfyre will not serve cunt or camp.
The Blackfyre Rebellion? All happened in one big miscommunication Trope.
The dragons aren't dead, they're actually just finding themselves in the wilderness, you know? They're just really getting into their earthy crunch side.
Maekar Targaryen will do nothing all season. Just serve face and say offensive shit
The Dornish will be an integral part of the season. You will only know about it because of Behind the Episode.
Valarr Targaryen is a socialist and that is why they killed him off.
The mastermind behind all the Targaryen deaths? Baby Walder Frey.
Who really stole the dragon egg at Whitewalls? Time Travelling Penny in disguise.

Our new Dunk and Egg!
Tumblr media
Dexter Sol Ansell, playing Egg (the future King Aegon V Targaryen), is best known for playing the (very) young Coriolanus Snow in the opening scene for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
youtube
I think Dexter is a perfect choice for Egg! He looks very HBO-Targaryen, and IMO has a strong resemblance to Leo Ashton (young Aemond in HOTD S1), as well as Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra). Of course he'll be shaving his head (poor kid), and with those light eyebrows, I'm sure he will be very very egg, lol.
Our new Dunk, Peter Claffey, from Portumma, Ireland, used to be a rugby player (he's 1.96m, 6'5"), but left the sport in 2018 and got into acting. Here's a clip from his agent's site, and for more videos see here.
I personally think this clip is highly convincing of Peter's potential in this role. "We could use a man-mountain like you", indeed.

For me, it’s about making sure that I respect George and I respect the text. And then also, it still has to be a dramatic story. Those characters have to go on a journey; they have to change; they have to go from a beginning to a middle to an end.
Funny, I remember Condal repeatedly saying in some behind the scenes stuff before the show comes out that he’s a fan of George’s book and look what he and Sara did.
Tumblr media
That’s one of the things that my approach to it was to [that] Fire and Blood is written like a real history and these things happened. We know the history of Alexander the Great; we know the history of Napoleon. We know what the battles were. We know a lot of the people who died. We know in some cases what was said or what might have been said, but we don’t know everything. We don’t know all of it. We kind of have these flag poles that tells us this is how we marched through history. But then also there’s that great quote that somebody much smarter than I said: history is written by the people who won.
Yup, see, this means that they’ll be going full-on “crazy evil Targaryens” and “uwu Westerosi Lords”. Bet that they’re also gonna add that “prophecy bullshit” into all this, just like the writers did in House of the Dragon.
You know what? I wished they should just stop adapting George’s books if they’re not going to follow the source material to a tee. But, no, money is more important to these people rather than telling a good story.
So, what I’m trying to say is, I have no faith for Aegon’s Conquest. I remembered having high hopes for House of the Dragon once because the book is already finished and because of what Ryan has said. “There’s no way they could f*cked it up,” I thought, only to be utterly disappointed at the end. The same also applies to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
You’re not going to fool me this time, HBO.

Game of Thrones Dunk and Egg Prequel Casting Call Suggests Filming Sooner Than Expected
Tumblr media
The second season of HBO’s hit series House of the Dragon starring Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith and Olivia Cooke has just finished filming a few weeks ago for a 2024 release. There are more Game of Thrones projects in the works, and one would think they are very far away from now, but after months of silence, the previously announced Dunk & Egg series with the working title A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight seems to have begun castings its two leads.
Casting Dunk & Egg
Tumblr media
Renowned UK casting director Lucy Bevan (The Batman, Barbie, Death on the Nile, Cruella) published a casting call for two leading roles in an upcoming HBO series. The series isn’t named, but from the role descriptions, it can’t be mistaken for anything else. These two are definitely Aegon V Targaryen and Duncan the Tall.
BOY: Aged 9-10. Physically small, the character is wise beyond his years, confident and witty. He has a neutral English accent, and is white with blue/green eyes and pale skin. Must be under 4’6 (137cm) and at least 9 years old by March 2024 for licensing.
SOLDIER: Aged 18-25. The soldier is very tall and physically strong. He has a humble disposition and is perceptive and thoughtful. Any ethnicity. Must be at least 6’4 (193cm).
**OPEN CASTING CALL** – we're currently searching for two leading roles in an upcoming HBO series. Details on the flyer below. Please share! Thanks so much.#casting #castingcall #opencall #audition pic.twitter.com/gppnlTSEil— Lucy Bevan Casting (@CastingLucy) October 20, 2023
Finally, the casting call notes that filming will take place already in 2024, meaning the project is closer than we thought.
