👁️FlashingEye tickle headcanons📸
(OC x Canon)
Tumblr media
• Click was very clueless to tickling and how it works, so he has sometimes let his body vibrate to sooth Peepers and had ended up tickling him more often then not
• He didn’t understand why Peepers laughed most of the time, and he can’t pick up anything he says when he laughs so any conversation while Peepers is getting tickled sounds like this:
📸: Your heart rate seems to be enhancing drastically..
👁️: SHUT YOUR FAHAHAHAHHACE!!
📸: My apologies, Commander. I could not compute that, would you mind repeating more clearly?
• Anytime Click tries to figure out why he laughing by saying something like the given example above, Peepers assumes he’s teasing him and it just makes him squirm more
• Eventually, Peepers told Click the concept of tickling and how it worked, which Click kept in his programming. Now? Hooo, you better be careful around that robot cuz he’s RUTHLESS. But he’s still gentle since he’s aware he’s metal.
• Click only ever tickles C.Peeps to comfort him or just to hear his laugh, which embarrasses Peepers to a galactic extent.
• Click found a way to make himself sound more “human” by downloading voice things, so now he can choose a random voice to use to tease Peepers and it always gets him
• Raspberries are nothing shy to Click now, but since he can’t actually use his mouth, he just presses his mouth against a spot and allows his body to start vibrating to give of the same sensation a zerbert would
• Peepers knows he can’t really get revenge on his partner cuz he’s a robot.. however, one day when one of the Watchdogs was repairing some of his wires, Peepers in the same room, Click giggled a bit and Peepers has NOT let that leave his mind
• Turns out, Click is stupidly ticklish on his back, legs and neck, and Peepers takes the neck and back weak points to his advantage whenever he’s kissing Click and rubbing his back • Click takes his taller stature to an extreme advantage, picking him up or holding him close is never off the table. Same goes for Peepers, he uses his shortness as his own advantage by sneaking up on Click a lot.
• Click’s laugh (due to his voice claim being Cyn from MD) has a very giggly sounding laugh, whereas Peepers is well… Peepers with it.
• Click uses the default teases on Peepers such as “Tickle tickle tickle!” and “Kitchie kitchie koo!”
• And Peepers just says whatever; “Such sensitivity will be shamed in the presence of Lord Hater!” While poking up and down Click’s sides
• Click’s favorite method of tickling Peepers is holding him close and rubbing his back for a bit, then resting his hands on his belly and letting his hands vibrate (not in a weird way)
• Click never tried to spider his fingers on Peepers’ body cuz he knows it won’t work OR he’d have to be really careful with it
• One time while Peepers was tickling Click, he accidentally caused Click’s camera lens to flash in his direction and Click apologized profusely after, while Peepers said it was okay cuz it was just an accident
• Click doesn’t have the ability to get “flustered” but he sometimes pretends to by covering his face or turning on his heat sensors on to act like his face is heating up
• Peepers always tells Click how much he loves his laughs when he tickles him just so Click can do it more, and it totally works
• Click giving aftercare consists of him resting his head on Peepers’ stomach and nuzzling into him while softly rubbing the side of his head
• Peepers on the other hand, makes sure Click is okay first before asking if he’d rather take a nap or just lay together
I love them so much they need to fuck off

Since female (or at least openly femme presenting) watchdogs make Hater “nervous,” do you think he’d get a crush on punk/goth c. peeps? Assuming he doesn’t recognise the guy - which let’s face it he probably wouldn’t - it’d be hilarious and emotionally devastating for poor ol peepers. On one had, his boss (crush) is finally swooning over him, but only for his made up persona that he only intended to use to avoid getting burnt to a crisp by Dom.
I’d like to think Hater is much less overbearing about his crush this time, since he’s still a little traumatised over what happened with Lord D. He’s still a complete dork of course, but he acts a lot shyer and genuine around the ‘cute little watchdog babe’ that’s groupies with Dom now.
Anyway, sorry for gushing about your AU, I had this thought and it would not leave my head all day. Keep up the awesome work!
Aw it's cool, I am glad others are enjoying the ideas! The back and forth is great for brainstorming and really fun to answer. So feel no shame, I love the feedback! While it's not currently planned in the au to have Hater meet peepers in the disguise, I absolutely headcanon that sometime after Dominator rejected him, Hater created a real saucy banger of a song inspired by/dedicated to "that cute blonde chick from that one time" (which was Peepers during 'The Showstoppers' lol). When Hater learned that chick was PEEPERS he panicked and had the song pulled immediately and had all copies destroyed before his new album was published. He never spoke of that instance again. Simply did NOT. Think about it. ever again........................ No inner thoughts, no inner monologues. No inner contempolation, no introlospection, and definitely no 'anything that involves smoochy emotions about best boy friends.' --boys who are friends. not boyfriends, boys WHO ARE FRIENDS. Who are best friends. that are boys. Who sometimes look like girls you'd totally date but, who is in fact, a boy, who is already your best friend for life, who already loves yyyou-- (deep breath) Okay No thoughts, Head. empty. HEAD, EMPTY!!! So yeah... to answer your question, Hater wouldn't be able to tell it's Peepers in a disguise lol. IF Hater saw Peepers in the goth/punk chick disguise, he would think her long sleeves and platform shoes were SO CUTE, and he wouldn't really get her hairstyle, but the high ponytail was kinda cool. And the way she looks at him when she talks is so... Oh wait, what is she saying, crap he wasn't paying attention--UH! COMPLIMENTS! GIRLS LIKE COMPLIMENTS, "I LIKE YOUR EYEBALL. IT'S NICE." Nailed it. ... Oh! She squeaks too??? Oh, he's in love. Meanwhile, Peepers would be flabbergasted, because he can't just blow cover over this. This sure is as awkward as it is amazing. To explain the Dominion au and why Hater doesn't ever really see/meet Peepers in the disguise, explanations below:
For my plans for the Dominion au, Peepers leaves hater in one big hurrah to PLEASE NOTICE ME HATER KYO save the galaxy (so they can conquer it later!) but straight up people think Peepers is finally taking his accumulated vacation days after like, a decade. LOL. It's actually one main reason Peepers leaves during that time, because with Lord Hater steamrolling in planet conquering due to confidence induced competency, it leaves Peepers essentially obsolete and out of a job. At first, it's super nice to see Hater reach his true potential, and the free time is pretty nice too, but eventually whenever Peepers tries to help out, it's all "got it" "did that" "done that" from Hater, and Peepers starts feeling useless and left behind. Even the watchdogs are ignoring Peepers and treating Hater as the "popular guy" over him, and it's eating Peepers up inside. Add in that Wander converting Hater into a good guy with "love and friendship", and Peepers starts to get utterly desperate. Peepers tries to offer any way he can help out, but Hater being Hater, blows him off and dismissively suggests to finally take that vacation or whatever, as he happily runs off with a group of chattering watchdogs. Peepers: "A vacation...?" Peepers: "HMF! Evil never takes 'a vacation'! Evil never sleeps!!" (cue montage of Peepers concocting a very genius, very stupid plan, as he rants about Lord Hater shoving him to the side like trash and choosing good guy stuff over the evil life plans they made together. It includes unhinged lines like: "If Hater wants a good guy, I'll show him 'good guy'! I'll be the best worst evil good guy he's ever seen!") It's not until Dominator makes a comeback and is hanging out with peepers that everyone realizes. OH. OKAY THEN?!?!? UH???? I had a scene planned where when they realize what's going on the reactions are as follows: Wander, panicking: OH-NO-PEEPERS-ISN'T-USING-HIS-VACATION-DAYS!!! (i can't remember the exact lines now, oof, but it's something like:) Sylvia: (worried) Forget that Wander, --he's really teaming up with Dominator?! (silence from hater in the back) Wander: ...Lord Hater? Oh, I know this must be such a shock an all, considering we all thought he was on Tateehee 5 when he really was making friends with Dominator but-- Hater: GRAHHH, I CAN'T BELIEVE HE TOTALLY BIRDDOGED ME!!!! Sylvia: (deadpan) -oh boy. bonus: watchdog: Uh, Lord Hater, don't you have to, uh-actually date her first, before it can be called a birddog? Hater: (zaps watchdog) NO ONE ASKED YOU, JERRY!

Top 20 BEST Animated Series of the 2010s-13th place
What happens when you mix Looney Tunes' quality of animation with Spongebob Squarepants' weirdness and the creativity of a Dr. Suess book?
You get yet another underrated cartoon in the last decade. That’s what.
#13-Wander Over Yonder (2013-2016)
The Plot: A wandering weirdo named Wander and his best friend/protector/noble steed Sylvia travels the galaxy, sharing kindness and spreading the message that it never hurts to help everywhere they go. But in their quest, they must face dangerous villains such as Lord Hater and his army of watchdogs (The watchdogs aren’t what you think they are). Will the villainous Lord Hater destroy Wander and his attempts to spread happiness, or will Wonder make Hater his new pal? I don’t know. The show got canceled after a second season. Still, I think it’s the best bet on it being a yes.
The one thing about a show like Wander Over Yonder is that it is nothing like most shows you will find on this list. And I can sum up those reasons into four categories: story, comedy, characters, and animation.
Let’s start with the story because, until season two, there really isn’t one. It remains as a somewhat episodic show where the continuity is nearly non-existent. Occasionally a character will bring up an old event, or an old villain will reappear. But a viewer doesn’t need a full understanding of every episode to watch a single episode. Even when the show begins to have a story arc in season two, knowledge of previous events isn’t entirely essential to enjoy the episode you’re currently watching. Because while the prior information may add to the enjoyment, it never takes it away. In fact, Wander Over Yonder may just be the first show to change its technique of storytelling while still remaining true to its roots. Mainly since its roots focused more on comedy than anything else.
Let me make one thing clear: Wander Over Yonder, above anything else, is a comedy. It’s not a comedy that slowly becomes a drama. It’s a show that balances comedy and drama, and it is certainly not a show that will take itself too seriously. Even in the more “serious” episodes, Wander Over Yonder makes a point to have people laugh first and make them cry later. In fact, the drama has more of an impact because viewers can build a connection through laughing with the characters, thus caring when they meet a moment that’s tragic and heartbreaking. And laugh they will because this show can be pretty funny at times. Keep in mind that it has a very random sense of humor, so maybe don’t get too excited if that isn’t your cup of tea. And even if it is, there is a small problem you need to be aware of about the show’s comedy. When a joke isn’t funny, there will be another joke not far behind to make up for the lack. However, there are times when the show lingers on a specific gag or even repeats the same exact one throughout the entire episode. And it is always painful to watch. This doesn’t happen often, and it isn’t that bad when done well, but even then, it can get a little annoying to fans of the show.
Speaking of a little annoying, let’s talk about our main character Wander. Wander is a character who strives to do the right thing no matter what the cost. When done well, a personality like that is admirable but can come across as annoying when done wrong. Wander is no exception. On the one hand, I honestly find his determination to do the right thing makes him a good role model for kids. And it’s not like he doesn’t have a reason for why he goes out of his way to help others. He genuinely does the right thing because it actually makes him feel good to help. However, that doesn’t change when Wander’s kind attitude can get a little out of hand. There are moments when he actually puts friends and civilizations in danger to do a good deed. Everything all works out in the end, but that doesn’t change how close things can get. Even worse, Wander rarely changes his approach to doing good deeds because the writers goes out of their way to prove him right. Whenever Wander has his good nature challenged or even taken advantage of, he still does the exact same thing a couple episodes later. Thankfully, he at least has a couple of good characters to bounce off of in his antics.
There are two characters in the show that Wander interacts with the most: Sylvia and Hater. Sylvia is Wander’s best friend and acts as the muscle/voice of reason to his Wanderness. Their overall interactions are either hilarious or downright heartwarming to watch. I especially love how Sylvia goes out of her way to keep Wander safe, as it shows a friendship that goes beyond farther than other best buddies in most shows on this list. In fact, they're more like a family that’s a mix between mother and son/brother and sister dynamic. However, while I love seeing Wander and Sylvia interact, that is nothing compared to seeing Wander and Hater together. These two have a rivalry that seems to be Spongebob and Squidward’s dynamic, treated as Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd's. It is funny to watch these two whenever they share a screen together, and it’s this interaction that brings out the best of Wander. He doesn’t ever want to hurt Hater, but it’s just Hater who mostly hurts himself. Wander also fully understands that Lord Hater is a villain but is driven by the belief that there’s some good inside those bones. But what surprises me is the fact that Lord Hater works well as a character even without Wander.
Wander Over Yonder does something I rarely see in which it has episodes that star both the heroes and the villains. Lord Hater is up there as one of the funniest incompetent villains within animated shows. His attempts to become the greatest in the galaxy never fails to make me laugh, as it pretty much lines up with Wile E Coyote's attempts to get the Road Runner. He will lose, and you know he’s going to no matter what, but it’s still hilarious to watch how. Hater gets even funnier when you compare him to Commander Peepers, who acts as Hater’s second in comand. Peepers is the logic to Hater’s fury and childishness, which presents a dynamic similar yet different to Wander and Sylvia’s. Which is another reason why I like how the show focuses on both the heroes and villains, as it makes the villains seem more like dynamic characters than most foes in other shows.
But none of this praise holds a candle to the show’s animation. Not only is it fluid and expressive, but the show has the underrated rubber hose style of animation that needs more love. Characters can pull random objects out of nowhere, survive the craziest of things, and seem to have their own form of gravity around them. In fact, it is Wander Over Yonder that showed me how rare this type of animation is. Most animated shows in the last decade seem to focus on looking realistic rather than looking like a cartoon. This is weird because one would think that more cartoons would aim to actually be more, well, cartoony. This is why Wander Over Yonder has some of the best animations out of most shows in the last decade, all because of it being unique. Even when the show goes through a noticeable downgrade in its second season, it is nowhere near as bad as Star V.S. the Forces of Evil. It’s still expressive and cartoony, but not just as fluid as it once was in season one.
However, despite all the praise I can give this show, you should remember it still got canceled. Was it because of bad writing? No. Was it because the animation was too expensive? Understandably so if it was, but no. Was it because of bad ratings? Well, it did get bad ratings, but apparently, that wasn’t the reason. Apparently, the reason was that Disney thought that only two seasons were enough. This is a shame because not only did it seem like the show was gaining ground by season two, but season three even promised to reveal some long-awaited backstories for the characters. Regardless, Disney still owns the show, and the decision to bring it back (that is, to say, if they’ll ever bring it back) is entirely up to them.
Wander Over Yonder is not a perfect show. Compared to everything else in the last decade, I can see how most people won’t be as invested as others. But if you love episodic storytelling, random comedy, great dynamic characters, and some fantastic animation, then trust me when I say that it wouldn’t hurt to help to give this show a chance.
(Also, is it weird to anybody else that this isn’t on Disney+, yet? It’s on Hulu, but not Disney+ for some reason. It’s starting to get to the point where I think Disney’s ashamed of this show, which I don’t understand.)

Dr. Ben Nomad is a intergalacticdoctor who hardly does any hero work, except for providing prescriptions, surgeries, transplants and check-ups for his patients at the Intergalactic Hospital, like any normal doctor would. He has the same species as Wander, except he lacks a Southern accent and is more intelligent and resourceful compared to him. He shares the role of straight man/Zbornak with Sylvia, since they get along with each other pretty well, and he sometimes participates in adventures with her and Wander. He is also a fan of Lord Hater's cartoon show, even though he keeps his fanboy side a secret when meeting in-person with Lord Hater. Like Wander, he can also wear various different disguises, such as the rebellious bad guy outfit and alter his personality in order to fit the part.
Due to Wander's family in the past remaining untold, the Doc will act as a father figure to Wander. And whenever Wander is harmed or injured, the Doc will sacrifice his neurotics to protect and save him from dangers across the galaxy. He also has no interest in dating or marrying Lord Dominator, despite the fact that she deems him as more "attractive" than all the other people in the galaxy. Like how Dominator rejects Hater, the Doc will reject her because he doesn't imagine having a relationship with an evil overlord.
There’s a logical explanation why he never appeared in the past two seasons (of their lives!). He’s heard of Wander and Sylvia’s adventures on news articles, but was too busy nursing up bounty hunters to be aware of what’s going on. The third season had him move up to become a professional intergalactic doctor at a hospital, marking his official on-screen debut with Lord Hater and Commander Peepers in the room where every villain got broken medical conditions. Later in the middle of the episode, we finally get to see him meet Wander and Sylvia in-person, where they came to check on Hater and Peepers. At the end of the episode, Hater reads the gift Wander sent him and screams in agony.
He also has a fatal flaw like Wander, but a different kind of fatal flaw: Gambling. One day, he loses his job due to an unprecedented amount of adventures with Wander and Sylvia. While the two try to help him look for a job, Dominator (his unwanted love interest) manipulates the Doc into gambling at the casino. For two weeks straight, he gains an unhealthy obsession of gambling and loses his sanity without stopping and it was up to Wander and Sylvia to snap him out of it. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Hater tries to do the Doc’s job, but proves to be a worse doctor than him. Realizing that being a doctor is hard, he runs off to stop Dominator from manipulating the Doc, begs the latter to stop gambling and return to his old job. The Doc finally snaps out it, returns to his senses and learnt that gambling was not a way to make a living. Everything returns to normal. The Doc from now on will split time between his patients at the hospital and visit his two favorite people on their adventures. Unlike Wander's, the Doc's fatal flaw is short-lived. Voiced by John Viener, an actor best known for his roles on Family Guy. @woyseason3 Wander Over Yonder © Craig McCracken/Disney

June 27th - 3 Years Later
Ever wondered how characters coped with the uncalled-for cancellation after the second season finale of Wander Over Yonder premiered? Well, I know a certain electric skeleton man who has lost his patience.
If there’s anyone who’s really had it with Disney and its inability to let @crackmccraigen close out WOY his way, it’s Lord Hater. In fact, he’s been under the impression that with shows like Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, and the Mickey Mouse shorts around, the company is better off without him.
Check out what I have here.
Tumblr media
Some of us can relate to Ol’ Hatey, right? He used to be interested in the Disney Channel, but not anymore. What he wouldn’t give to move to Netflix, where Craig is working on his next cartoon. In one alternate universe or more, Wander Over Yonder was never outperformed by other shows and was given one more season, so my comic wouldn’t exist in such a universe. You can guess what other cartoon shows I’m referencing here. All it needs now is a vocal recording by Keith Ferguson and Tom Kenny (plus some sfx).
It’s been three years since cancellation, which is longer than the run from The Greatest (The Picnic if you count the sneak peak) to The End of the Galaxy. SaveWOY has lasted even longer than that because it was launched in March of 2016. We keep it going because plans for that third and final season exist.
Riddle me this, cynics and pessimists, if Wander Over Yonder is truly done, finished, never to be revisited again, and will never get a third season, how come Craig McCracken (or anyone who worked with him on the S3 pitch) still hasn’t told us everything about those S3 plans? Because the crew members love them so much that they cannot bear to reveal it all in one post. Also, they must have some faith in the fans who are trying to save it. It’s almost as hard for the crew to keep S3 a secret as it is for us to save the show. We just need to keep letting those higher-ups know how serious we really are about the show’s need for the planned conclusion. Besides, Hey Arnold! and Samurai Jack got their long overdue closures and so will Yound Justice, Invader Zim, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Who’s to say the same will never happen to WOY?
Craig’s still working on Kid Cosmic for Netflix, I know, but we mustn’t stand idly by while these S3 details remain a mystery for an eternity:
Lord Hater’s origin story
The 3 new main characters
A Peepers-centric arc
A new direction for Dominator
A new threat worse than Dominator
How Wander would be tested
So far, we already know The Star Nomad, the ship that appeared in an image in The Waste of Time and in an up-close cameo in Future-Worm, would play a huge role in S3 - taking the majority of the refugees back to their recovering home planets. What happens to the ship in the end remains to be seen.
I guess the best way to find out exactly what S3 is about is to get every single cartoon enthusiast involved in the SaveWOY camapaign. I mean, if we get the creators of the more popular cartoons (Pendleton Ward, Ben Bocquelet, Alex Hirsch, Rebecca Sugar, Daron Nefcy, Daniel Chong, to name a few) to talk about why WOY deserves one more season or a streaming-exclusive movie, every viewer who’s ever ignored WOY might pay attention, and when that happens, Disney should give WOY another chance on Disney+ sometime in the mid-late 2020s.
Honestly, I feel anyone who shows interest in S3 deserves to know more about it. I mean, after all we’ve done to spread awareness, don’t we deserve to know just a little bit more? We must keep sending those politely-written letters to Disney and convince them how badly WOY needs that closure so that by the time Craig is done with KC, the bosses will want to bring him back.
Lastly, I bring greater news: I’ve been accepted into the sound mechanic training program at Disneyland. As a Disney employee, I can still help keep SaveWOY in check, stay connected with Disney, and do what I’ve been trained to do: repair, troubleshoot, and install. My heart is in the right place, is yours?
It’s true what Wander says. Never hurts to help.
Don’t forget, Trending 27th starts this evening!

Let's talk about Peepers.
It's not going to be an analysis of his character, no, I'm leaving it after I watch the entire S2. I was considering if I should write this post at this point, but I had to, otherwise I'd explode. (A threat of not being to able to liveblog in the near future and lack of Internet overall also helped in writing that post.)
I should note that I got to "The Bad Hatter" and don't know what happens after this episode.
So let's talk about Peepers, his relationship with Hater, some hypotetical scenarios and how I tend to overanalyze a children cartoon.
Back in S1 he used to be a punching bag who was totally happy giving Hater all the control (to be fair Hater was competent back then in spite of his Hatey moments) and being in the shadow, doing the hard work. All in the name of the Hater Empire! …But not really. One could say the changes began back in "The Prisoner", but the real deal was shown in "The Bounty", where Peepers did draw a line - he had his ambitions and had to follow them. He still wanted to be a Commander of the empire that was supposed to rule the galaxy; perhaps even the universe itself. And after that he was shown to lose his paticence with his boss, acknowleding his flaws out loud.
Fast forward to S2 and Hater is not the greatest in galaxy anymore; despite his abilities and powers he got distracted by Wander way too many times for other villains not to notice. Peepers still follows him, though this time not without justified and verbalized complaints and screaming. And when they get to Dominator despite being the powerful one Hater is a distraction, while Peepers takes job into his hands and saves everyone along with Sylvia. "If you march in to my galaxy, you're gonna have to deal with me!" was it?
Peepers and Hater's relationship took a big step in "The Axe". We as the audience learned that without each other the won't be able to function in the villain world without each other, and Hater finally understood he needed his Commander. Peepers meanwhile seemed to be fully aware of his abilities and why he nedeed skeleton man in the first place. After he left the skullship he didn't consider the obvious 'there are so many other villains out there wonder if any of them would use a competent right hand?' No, he was looking for a job in a NEWSPAPER showing that he does believe Hater is still the most powerful conqueror this galaxy could have. Not to mention his whole flashback song, where we witnessed him caring about Hater beyond the whole conquering thing. One more thing worth the note is that Sourdough noted how Peepers is the one who 'knows what's being a true villain is all about'.
After this episode their relationship started to be much, much better, though not without its hiccups.
"A true villain turns weakness into a strength!" I love this line. He technically tells Hater how great it is that he used his obsession with the tag game in conquering planets… But what he's really saying is that he used Hater and his shenanigans to get back to the top ten. Not to mention that he considers Hater as his weakness overall; despite everything that happened not only he has some ounce of belief in him, not only he can not imagine conquering the galaxy without him ("The Axe"), he genuinely cares about the guy to some extent.
This sentence aside "The It" gave me a lot to think about (and laugh for that matter). Peepers had no qualms about freezing his boss in coldbrrnite and leavin him behind, just like he didn't have any problem with locking him up in the box to use him for conquering planets. And the Sequence happens, where it's more than obvious what Peepers wants, how he is the real villain in the Hater Empire, how he revels in his pragmatic villainy and using Hater for conquer. At the end he learns his lesson how while his boss is the instrumental part in building the empire overall, if he's busy with Wander, he's not able to carry out the mission and needs to stay away.
Time for the next Peepers-Hater episode. So what happens? "The Cool Guy" happens. Hoooo, boy, "The Cool Guy".
The figurines play from the beginning is the obvious way of explaining stuff to Hater without boring him at the more formal meetings (the way that Hater took to the heart, if his 'commercial' in "The New Toy" is any indication), but Peepers is also having fun. Until Awesome happens and takes Hater away. For almost the whole episode Commander is busy fretting over Hater's abscence and irresponsibility while phoning him like a worried mother. (Don't worry that much, Peeps, Hater is a good enough boy to use a straw and a napkin.)
Tumblr media
And then he decides he had enough, the time for invasion was coming with big steps anyway, had to do it himself.
Two major things happen: first of all his little speech. He knows that all Hater wanted was to be popular, not to conquer planets. He says that in such a mocking tone that made me think: a) he actually doesn't really care what his boss really wants, jsut used his abilities, apperance and desires for galactic domination, b) is it just me or he sounds like a parent who dismissed their kid's desires and 'knows' what's better for them, roping them in a job they didn't really want? I'm probably taking the analogy too far here, but yeah.
The second thing is that he tried to conquer the planet on his own in his name. But wait, didn't he just try to conquer in his boss' name despite his abscence? Nope. You don't put your face-eye on the banners where Hater's face is supposed to be if you want to invade in his name.
But wait, didn't I say that Peepers acknowledged that he needed Hater to conquer the galaxy? Yes, but with Hater's incompetentence and him controlling pretty much everything he might have thought: "Alright, I'm doing all the work anyway, I'm much more capable of being the leader!"
"Bow down to your new master!" Peepers had no idea that Hater was around to watch the invasion. So who was this 'master'? Come, on, he was testing the grounds, he wanted to see if he'd manage to conquer the planet on his own, though still using the skullship which is Hater's symbol. He even had a peep pep talk with himself for flrap's sake. But then Awesome happened (whose words imply that he actualy knew what Commander was planning to do? Or he just wanted to make a joke? I don't really think he'd care any way, but still.) After that Peepers retracted and used Hater's name, but the Thing happened anyway. Commander goes back to his boss just like the boss comes back to his Commander… though not without a little Wander distraction.
After that Peepers gets Hater to the 2nd spot on the villain leaderboard, though not without problems, like partying hard with Wander or making Major Threat fake his return to villainy. Not to mention getting smacked around few times. But overall Peepers could work with that and only Dominator was the real obstacle to get back on the first place. What could go wrong?
Then "The Battle Royale" takes place and Hater falls – literally and figuratively for Dom. Which is a big, big problem for Peepers.
In "The New Toy" watchdog is absolutely fine with Hater not taking the part in the battle; in fact he's delighted he's allowed to lead the attack by himself. Unfortunately not only his boss sabotages his plans, but it's also obvious that without Hater's cooperation he couldn't get anywhere near beating Dominator.
"The Bad Hatter" is the main reason I'm writing that post. Once he finds out Hater has Wander's magic Hat he takes it to make weapons to defeat Dominator and…
Tumblr media
(x)
…I said I was going to think about it, didn't I?
Despite the fact that he cares about Hater somewhat and is willing to call him a friend, he is absolutely, 100% ready to put him aside for his own ambitions. He wants to defeat Dom and wants the galaxy to be HIS. There are even parallels with the civil war Wander talks about for grop's sake!
So let's recap: Peepers uses Hater, though he still cares for him, he does consider the posibility of working without him to pursue his dreams, he is thinking how much better he'd fill the leader's position and he'd be glad to be done with Hater's nonsense.
You're going to ask: 'Ok, why are you telling us the stuff we already know?' Well, I'm getting there.
Given what we've seen in the S2 so far it's not without merit to think that Peepers might want to leave Hater after all. Anyone who has been following me knows how surprised I was that he didn't leave skeleton man's side after witnessing Dominator and her powers back in "The Greater Hater" and developed their reluctant friendship (which, for the record, I love, but it was still shocking to see that).
As of now they still have Dom to deal with, so while I don't think Peepers is going to do anyting of the sort in this season, but S3 is still a fair game. Hater might have a moment of clarity or whatever to get the job done, but it'll never be in the long term - Hater from S1 is not going to come back, he's still going to be distracted by Wander, he's still going to be ultimately redeemed. What would Peepers do in that situation? Would he still follow Hater into the path goodness? Possible, but not without complaining. Or some kind of story arc that would happen beforehand for that matter. Where he could at the very least think about leaving Hater to his own devices.
So let's play a game of 'Peepers gets a better job proposition where he actualy can fullfill his dreams of ruling the universe'. Maybe not even in someone's name, but his. Of course it's absolutely hypotetical situation, but still very much possible.
Ok, so in that scenario Commander leaves his Lord to work for somebody else/begin reign in his own name. So Wander would have to do someting, right? Nope. Sure, he might have few words for Peepers, he'd definitely try to do something, but ultimately he'd fall deaf on his ears. Peepers doesn't care about Wander, he doesn't consider him a threat, he'd love to ignore him entirely and for Hater to do the same. I did complain that these two barely interacted, though it made sense why. Now with the possibilty I described here it would make even more sense, especially in narrative way.
But there would have to be someone who'd talk him down, at least partly, right? There's Sylvia, I guess, they did find a common ground in "The Battle Royale", recognising that they had similiar struggles, and I was told they have more interaction in few next episodes. But I don't feel like Sylvia could do that much. Her words would have some effect, maybe, but not that big.
So who has any chance to talk to Peepers to get him out of this path?
Tumblr media
Hm, this redeemed/almost redeemed guy maybe?
Tl;dr Peepers stop stealing the show.
