HSV Holden Monaro Convertible Concept, 1990. A project initiated by Holden's Special Vehicles subsidiary to create a limited edition convertible based on the VN series Commodore. Melbourne specialists Maverick Motors we engaged to create a prototype. The work included a shorter wheelbase with longer front door, new glass and an electric convertible top imported from Michigan. The car was initially painted Maranello Red and fitted with an HSV 5.0 litre V8. Plans for a limited edition production run were abandoned but the prototype was upgraded to VP Commodore spec and resprayed in HSV racing livery.
