Bridgerton had me going from "omg I hope more of my favorite HR books are adapted!!" To "oh lord stay away from my favorite books" I would be so excited if anyone actuslly adapts a book by an author of color because the history in itself is so interesting but now I'm scared theyll f it up. And seeing only white people profit off of stories of people of color(whom they seem to not even respect!) is sickening
Ask Dated: 19th Feb 2023
You totally get it anon!! I remember after S1 dropped and then I started exploring the books, genre and movies/shows similar to it, it was like a whole world was opened up to me. I was SUPER excited for how this show would change the landscape of including more people of colour into period dramas as well as ushering a new era of making original (and adapting more) HR stories.
Only for Bton itself to turn around and completely treat its Indian characters like utter trash in S2 and not to mention butchering the source material. The way only the main actors saved the season SIGH.
That being said, 10 months after you've sent this, we have had various new shows like Tom Jones and The Buccaneers (which has been renewed woo hoo)! So while Bton did open up the media landscape for this new trend and hopefully it stays so actors of colour can stay booked and busy, I think the genre on its own is gonna thrive in its on way and even move away from the mess that is Bton now. Fingers crossed for them going for the quality of Mr. Malcolm's List with the sexiness we get from HR novels themselves!
One of my favourite mutuals/friends Caro @mermaidsirennikita actually just answered an ask talking about the future of this genre in tv/films so you can read it here if you'd like more insight on this topic! [She's also a great go to for romance recs so feel free to browse her blog!!]
To finish off, I have GREAT news: Stacy Reid's Sinful Wallflowers series is being adapted into a TV show!! So we will be getting an author of colour behind the scenes and fingers crossed she can be an executive producer and call the shots to make sure its a very faithful adaptation. I definitely also wanna see authors like Beverly Jenkins, Adrianna Herrera, Diana Quincy etc to get adaptations if they want to venture into that. Or better yet we can just start making original HR shows or films; that would be very interesting to watch when its made specifically for the visual medium.

Frankly, I think we should get a trilogy of these Ninjago movies, the first one devoted to a retelling of the pilots, the second a condensation of s1, and the third a condensation of s2.
Idk how they'd go about it but yk... maybe remove like All the filler eps and make s2 Solely Dark Island arc ? Maybe for the s1 movie it would have to be BROAD strokes of the story... no clue. They'll figure it out.
I think it'd be perfect for the most iconic seasons of Ninjago in the public conscience to get a big screen retelling. Also I want the Overlord. Oh also they shouldn't sideline Nya! A trilogy would be the perfect opportunity to make three whole movies where Nya is the main character now

As the new adaptation for another version of “Legend of the Condor Heroes” makes an appearance in 2024 (in honor of the centennial celebration of Jin Yong’s birth), I am moved to record this for myself.
Jin Yong, his Wuxia and love stories had a deep imprint on how I conceptualise love between a man and a woman, and no other pairing has managed to influence my world view as markedly and deeply as Guo Jing and Huang Rong did.
He fed me my “man feeds love interest”, “man is a major simp”, “man almost always defer to the smartness of his partner”, “man is kind and generous”, “man is a gentle protector” etc tropes to me, and I will always thank the master for letting me know an egalitarian romantic relationship is a desirable aim. Guo Jing is also one of the few male fictional characters I have continued to love over decades. Without his wonderful understanding and portrayals of noble masculinity, I think my instinctive dislike of men would be much worse 🫥
All that mush out of the way, I am looking forward to the latest adaption of this classic, though will likely just pick up the second half of the drama, when it appears the story will finally focus on GJ and HR and their arcs/journeys.
(Keeping fingers crossed it will be available on an accessible streaming platform for me)

an outline of jyn's bal.dur's gate 3 verse under the cut !
she's a human fighter ( dual-wielding axes ) with rogue qualities ( such as picking locks and disarming traps ) with a mishmash of the solider + criminal backgrounds
the team first runs into her in act 2 in the last light inn. she's posing as a harper named liana hallik and says that she's looking for information on a man she believes is locked up in moonrise towers ( if pushed, she will admit that this man is gal.en erso but will not admit more than that )
she can join the team as a temporary companion for when they journey to moonrise towers. there's no sign of ga.len there but if the player character does some digging, they can find mentions of his daughter, jyn, and research notes on illithid tadpoles
depending on how nosy the player character is and if they've put together all the pieces, they can confront 'liana' but she will deny accusations and leave the party
regardless, she is only a temporary companion for act 2 and leaves after/if the harpers take moonrise tower. then, the team runs into her again in act 3, where she's still trying to chase down leads of galen
if the right choices are made, she can join the party as a permanent companion
as approval goes up, she will slowly admit pieces of her Tragic Backstory(tm), which is essentially r1 adapted to a bal.dur's gate setting !

In the fast-paced world of education and corporate training, both time and money are precious commodities. This is why adaptive learning has become a revolutionary solution in modern learning environments. By leveraging data-driven technology, adaptive learning personalizes the learning experience, allowing learners to progress at their own pace and helping organizations and educational institutions maximize their resources. In this article, we will explore what adaptive learning is, the different types of platforms and tools available, and how they can help save both time and money.
What is Adaptive Learning?
Adaptive learning refers to a learning methodology that adjusts the educational experience based on individual learner needs, abilities, and progress. The system uses real-time data to assess a learner's strengths and weaknesses, adapting the content accordingly to ensure that the learner receives appropriate material. The key idea is that not all learners are the same, so personalized learning paths provide the most effective approach to mastering new information.
At its core, adaptive learning involves the use of algorithms and data analytics to modify learning experiences based on user input, making learning more efficient and tailored. For example, if a student struggles with a specific concept, the system might provide additional resources or alter the way the topic is presented to ensure the student has a solid understanding before moving forward.
This personalization helps avoid wasting time on material that the learner already knows, enabling them to focus on areas where they need the most improvement. It also ensures that learners don’t feel overwhelmed by information that is too advanced for their current level.
Adaptive Learning Platforms: Transforming Education
