The Ultimate Guide to Rapper Fashion: Unveiling Hip-Hop's Iconic Style

Rapper fashion is more than just clothing; it's a cultural statement transcending the music industry's boundaries. The fusion of creativity, self-expression, and urban influences has given rise to a distinctive style that continues to captivate and inspire. This comprehensive guide delves deep into rapper fashion, exploring its origins, essential elements, iconic figures, and enduring impact on mainstream culture.
The Ultimate Guide to Rapper Fashion: A Deep Dive
A Brief History of Rapper Fashion
The roots of rapper fashion trace back to the gritty streets of 1970s New York City, where young artists sought to make a statement in a world that often marginalized them. Their attire became a form of rebellion, blending elements of street culture, sportswear, and flamboyant accessories. This fusion birthed the foundation of rapper fashion.
Influences and Inspirations
Rapper fashion draws inspiration from many sources, from the vibrancy of African heritage to the luxury of high-end fashion houses. The juxtaposition of luxury and street culture creates a dynamic and captivating style that continues to evolve.
Critical Elements of Rapper Fashion
Bling Culture:Ā A cornerstone of rapper fashion, bling represents the ostentatious display of wealth through elaborate jewelry, oversized chains, and sparkling accessories. It symbolizes success and is an integral part of the hip-hop narrative.
Streetwear Sophistication:Ā Rapper fashion embraces streetwear with a twist. High-end streetwear brands collaborate with hip-hop artists, resulting in limited-edition collections that effortlessly merge urban aesthetics with luxury craftsmanship.
Logomania:Ā The trend of sporting designer logos became synonymous with rapper fashion. Logomania showcases exclusivity and status, and it's not just
about the brandāit's a visual language that communicates a larger message.
Athleisure Evolution:Ā Rapper fashion has redefined athleisure, transforming sportswear into a fashion statement. Track pants, sneakers, and sports jerseys are elevated with unique styling and bold accessories.
Colorful Expressions:Ā Rapper fashion is a canvas of vibrant colors and bold patterns. It challenges traditional fashion norms by celebrating self-expression through an eclectic color palette.
Iconic Figures and Their Fashion Legacy
Run-D.M.C.:Ā Pioneers of the hip-hop fashion movement, Run-D.M.C. popularized Adidas tracksuits and shell-toe sneakers, solidifying streetwear's place in mainstream culture.
Notorious B.I.G.:Ā Biggie Smalls left an indelible mark on rapper fashion with his distinctive Coogi sweaters and sophisticated yet rugged style.
Missy Elliott:Ā An avant-garde fashion icon, Missy Elliott's eccentric ensembles and futuristic accessories challenged conventions and celebrated individuality.
Kanye West:Ā Known for his Yeezy fashion line, Kanye West blurred the lines between streetwear and high fashion, sparking trends that redefine luxury.
Cardi B:Ā A contemporary trendsetter, Cardi B's fearless approach to fashion combines luxury brands with audacious streetwear, showcasing her unapologetic personality.
Evolution and Trends
Rapper fashion is a dynamic landscape that continues to evolve. Recent trends include sustainability, gender-fluid fashion, and a revival of 90s aesthetics. As the genre diversifies, so does its fashion, reflecting the multifaceted nature of hip-hop culture.
Conclusion
"The Ultimate Guide to Rapper Fashion" has unveiled the captivating journey of a cultural phenomenon that extends far beyond clothing. From its humble beginnings on the streets of New York to its global impact on the fashion industry, rapper fashion is a testament to the power of self-expression and creativity. As the genre evolves, so will its fashion, ensuring that this iconic style remains a vibrant and influential force in the years to come.

I found a couple other old essays. I dont even remember writing this. ššš
the importance of failure in slam dunk

At the heart of the Slam Dunk manga lies the journey of Hanamichi Sakuragi, an immature and often ridiculous delinquent who finds redemption and development not in his victories, but in his failures. While his triumphsāsuch as him leading to Shohoku winning against Sannohāare often at the forefront of fansā minds, it is his failures that truly define his arc. Inoueās genius lies in how he uses these missteps, both comedic and heartbreaking, to slowly strip away Sakuragiās insecurities and guide him toward self-realization. This essay examines how Sakuragiās failures, ranging from his rejection of basketball to his pivotal injury at Nationals, form the emotional and thematic core of the manga. In Sakuragiās imperfections, Slam Dunk captures something universal: what it means to fail, to rise, and to find beauty in the struggle. As the rapper J. Cole once said, āThereās beauty in the struggle.ā
Sakuragiās story begins with rejectionāa theme that repeats throughout his arc. Before the series even starts, we learn that heās been turned down by fifty girls, a fact that he loudly exaggerates to mask his own embarrassment. His arrogance is a facade, one meant to protect him from the constant fear of not being enough. When Haruko Akagi enters his life, her kind demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for basketball give Sakuragi something heās been searching for: a sense of hope.
Though not without its complications. Harukoās admiration for Kaede Rukawa, Sakuragiās rival in love and on the court, creates a dynamic between the two where every interaction is charged with Sakuragiās jealousy, bitterness, and the need to prove himself. These failures in love reflect his early struggles on the basketball court: full of bluster, but ultimately rooted in a deep yearning for validation.
Sakuragiās first steps on the court are anything but graceful. He fouls. He trips. He flails in spectacular fashion. And then thereās Captain Takenori Akagi, a towering figure of discipline and seriousness, who sees right through Sakuragiās facade. In one particularly memorable moment, after being harshly scolded by Akagi for his antics, Sakuragi storms out of the gym, declaring that heās done with basketball. Itās a telling moment: Sakuragiās ego canāt handle criticism, and his instinct is to run away when faced with failure.

But Sakuragi comes back. Perhaps itās Harukoās encouragement, or maybe itās the sting of Akagiās words, but something pushes him to return. Itās a small act, but it marks the beginning of his transformation. Though his early games are riddled with mistakes, airballs, turnovers, even scoring on his own basket, these failures chip away at his arrogance, revealing a resilience he didnāt know he had. Inoue doesnāt shy away from showing how difficult growth can be. Sakuragiās journey is not a straight line; itās a series of stumbles, each one teaching him something new about himself.

The most profound moment of Sakuragiās journey comes during Shohokuās legendary game against Sannoh at the Nationals. It is the culmination of everything he has fought forāthe respect of his team, the recognition of his talent, and his own sense of belonging. When Sakuragi makes the dramatic final shot, securing victory for Shohoku, it feels like the perfect ending to his story. But itās not. His triumph is bittersweet, overshadowed by the cost: a severe back injury that forces him to sit out the rest of the tournament.
For Sakuragi, who has only just begun to understand what basketball means to him, this loss is devastating. After spending so much of the series trying to prove himselfāfirst to Haruko, then to Akagi, and finally to his teamāhe is faced with the harsh reality that his body, like his ego, has limits. And yet, it is in this moment of loss that Sakuragi experiences his most profound growth. He doesnāt wallow in self-pity or rage at the unfairness of it all. Instead, he commits himself to rehabilitation with the same fiery determination he once reserved for proving people wrong. For the first time, Sakuragi is not playing for validation; he is playing because he loves the game.

Inoue captures this shift wonderfully, letting Sakuragiās actions speak louder than his words. His injury, rather than breaking him, becomes a turning point. It is no longer about the crowdās praise or Harukoās admirationāit is about finding joy in the struggle, in the effort itself.
Sakuragiās failures donāt just shape his individual growth; they also deepen his relationships with his teammates. Early in the series, his arrogance isolates him, as he sees basketball as a platform for personal glory rather than a team effort. This is particularly evident in his rocky relationship with Captain Akagi, who initially regards Sakuragi as a nuisance unworthy of the sport. Over time, however, his mistakes force him to rely on others. Akagiās stern guidance, Miyagiās quick assists, and even Mitsuiās sharpshooting show how basketball is a team sportāa lesson Sakuragi learns through repeated failure.
His relationship with Kaede Rukawa also evolves significantly through this lens. Initially, Sakuragi views Rukawa as nothing more than a rival to be humiliated, both on the court and in Harukoās eyes. This one-sided antagonism leads to numerous comedic confrontations, such as Sakuragi deliberately fouling Rukawa in practice out of jealousy. But as the series progresses, their rivalry becomes one of mutual respect. A key moment occurs during the Sannoh game, when Rukawa silently acknowledges Sakuragiās contribution with a fist bump. This small, yet deeply significant gesture, highlights how far Sakuragi has comeānot just as a player, but as someone capable of earning and giving respect.
What sets Slam Dunk apart from other sports manga is its refusal to romanticize perfection. Sakuragiās growth is not marked by MVP titles or championship trophies but by the incremental changes in his character. By the end of the series, he remains imperfectāstill impulsive, still prone to overconfidenceābut those flaws are what make him human. His failures do not define him as a player; they define him as a person.
Inoueās portrayal of Sakuragiās transformation is marked by moments of both comedy and deep emotional weight. For instance, his iconic rebound against Sannohāa moment of pure athletic brillianceāfeels earned precisely because of the countless errors that preceded it. Itās not a product of raw talent but of hard work, resilience, and the lessons learned from failure. This balance between failure and success mirrors the unpredictability of real life, where growth often comes not from moments of triumph but from the struggles that lead up to them.
Slam Dunk is a story of triumph, but not in the way one might expect. What sets the series apart from other sports stories is its refusal to romanticize perfection. Sakuragi doesnāt end the series as an unstoppable force or a perfect player. He remains impulsive, rough around the edges, and prone to mistakes. But itās these imperfections that make his journey so compelling.
By the end of the series, Sakuragiās story isnāt about winning over the girl or becoming the best player on the court. Itās about finding joy in the struggle, embracing the process of growth, and discovering that failure isnāt something to be fearedāitās something to learn from. His story reminds us that the art of losing is not about failure itself, but about the courage to rise again, no matter how many times we fall.

Black Femininity: Princesses, Bombshells & Dolls {Part 1}
Black American Princess š
A Black American Princess or BAP was originally used to refer to a girl of African-American descent who grew up in a middle or upper class family. Growing up BAPs usually attended high society social organizations such as Jack and Jill clubs, debutante balls and sororities. Due to their privileged background they were used to having the best and never settling; this sometimes came with (or some might perceive as) a spoiled or materialistic demeanor. Eventually this term has expanded to include successful Black American women regardless of their background.
The 1997 cult classic, B*A*P*S stars Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle (aka Nisi and Mickey) as two Black women who come from the inner-city with a plan of opening a soul food restaurant/hair salon; the duo travels to California to compete in a dancing contest to win the money for their plan, but end up befriending a wealthy older man who upon his death leaves a portion of his wealth to them, thus becoming BAPs.
A BAP is a girl who takes care of herself and has a taste for the finer things in life like true royalty.
Black/Bronze Bombshells š£
A Bombshell is a stunningly attractive woman that garners widespread attention and excitement. She is considered a sex symbol. The term was first used in 1931, to describe the first known "Blonde Bombshell", Jean Harlow and remained popular until the 1960s. Even though this term is mostly associated with blonde white women, the most famous of them being Marilyn Monroe; there are some black ones as well.
Joyce Bryant, The Original Bronze Bombshell (aka The Black Marilyn Monroe) was a vibrant actress and singer who gained popularity in the 1940s. She was known for her signature silver hairstyle, which she obtained from not wanting to be upstaged by icon Josephine Baker when they appeared on the same bill; and her hourglass figure she donned in tight mermaid dresses. Her style was bold and independent and sealed her as an icon in her own right.

Bombshells are in every period from Dorothy Dandridge to Pam Grier to Nia Long to Victoria Monet.
Darling Dolls āØ
A doll is an old fashioned term that describes a beautiful woman as a sweetheart.
Burlesque legend Miss Toni Elling, the Satin Doll, who got her stage name from her dear friend Duke Ellington when she inspired his song of the same title. She broke barriers for African-American women in the show business of burlesque entertainment. The Satin Doll was known for carrying herself in a classy and elegant manner and never showing too much; she worked through 1960-1974 and was inducted in the Burlesque Hall of Fame in 2016.

The iconic rapper Nicki Minaj popularized the Black Barbie term through her artistry and fanbase.
BRATZ dolls were the best when it came to having a passion for fashion and were a style guide for young girls.
Tyra Banks starred as a fashion doll that comes to life in the 2000 film, Life-Size.

FAITHāS GUIDE TO GET THAT LOOK: FOXY BROWN

I've decided to start a series based around the prettiest and flyest black women! I've decided to start with the 'darkskin Christian Dior poster girl, ' Foxy Brown! Think 90s minimalism that isnāt shy of colour, Donna Karan, Gucci by Tom Ford, Christian Dior Spring RTW 2000, leather and coloured furs, iced out jewellery and the sickest heels youāve ever seen, some bohemian style accessories, dark thin eyebrows and dark lips that match your black mini dress.
When Foxy took off in the 90s minimalism was all the rage, most rappers and R&B singers were in leather , denim sporting casual styles that were dressed up with gold jewellery and fur. Foxy adopted this style whilst adding her own flair. She was flashy and sexy but her style still remained simple and classic. Matching her lyrics, where she expressed her love for designer and high fashion, hyped herself up as a sex symbol whilst still being a classy lady.
HAIR
Foxy often wore sew ins with an invisible parting straight or wavy were her usual texture options. The invisible parting sew in has been a technique used by stylists since sew ins came on the scene.

But to add your own flair to this look, wear your hair how you feel best.
NAILS
Foxy's nail length often varied, but regardless of length, the colours remained neutral, sometimes black. Her commonly worn nails were medium length and nude-pink acrylic overlay (think getting your nails done and they put the acrylic on and apply a clear/light pink finish and don't paint it further)

THE FACE
Foxy's features were always highlighted without her ever putting too much on her face.
THE BROWS

Eyebrows can be thinned using an eyebrow razor, shaving cream and tweazers.
youtube
When it comes to makeup use an eyebrow pomade to follow the shape of your thin brows to define them.
BASE
Foxy always had a flawless skin-like base.
To achieve this you will need:
Primer
Fan/ something to fan yourself with
Foundation
Foundation brush
Lighter but not super light concealer
Concealer brush
Pressed powder
Setting powder
Powder Brush
Powder Puff
Bronzer
Eyeliner
Mascara/Cluster Lashes
Lip Liner
Lipstick/Lip Gloss
STEPS
After filling in your brows, apply primer to your face
#faithtip: apply a pump of primer to your finger and apply it to your laugh lines to help reduce the appearance of laugh lines
Fan your face dry
#faithtip: use a powder brush to apply baby powder all over your face, pay extra attention to lines and creases so your makeup doesn't crease too much
Your face will look super ashy after this step, but applying foundation will fix this
Do not put too much on or it will be too cakey apply small dots to each part of your face and apply a bit more where needed
Blend it in with a foundation brush
After blending in your foundation apply a concealer that is only slightly lighter than your skin tone to your under-eyes
Apply a little bit of bronzer along your hairline, your cheekbones and a little bit on your jaw.
Now use a powder brush to pat press powder into your face.
Then use a powder puff to apply setting powder your under eyes following your eye shape, your chin, your cupids bow and a clean line under your brow.
EYES
Foxy loves to highlight her eyes sometimes subtly, sometimes heavy.
Use an eyeliner pencil/pen/black eyeshadow and apply it to the outer corners of your eye, creating a small wing.
Then use a small eyeshadow brush to smudge it slightly, still maintaining the shape and direction of the wing
Now depending on how dark you want your eyes to appear use mascara on you eyelashes or apply individual lashes for a more dramatic look.
HOW TO APPLY CLUSTER LASHES:
Strip lashes can also be cut into smaller pieces or use cluster lashes
Dip them into glue and wipe off the excess
Use tweezers to hold the lashes
Pull the top of your eyelid upwards so you can see underneath your eyelashes
#faithtip: Wipe the glue on the part you are applying to then you can dip the lash in glue again before actually placing it underneath your lash
This make the lashes more firm and secure
Make sure it is not too close to your eye as this can be irritating
Fan your eyes if you can still feel wet glue
youtube
BACK TO THE BASE
Using a powder brush, brush away/blend out the loose powder, under your eyes
Blend VERY well, as the powder has been sat on your face for a while, so it will not move easily
Now apply setting spray to your face till it's wet
Fan your face till dry
LIPS
Foxy either loved a dark lip or dark lip liner
A common hack for this time was holding a lighter slightly close to your lip liner to melt it slightly, for smother application and darker appearance
FOR A DARK LIP
Use a dark black/marron/purple lip liner
Then apply a lipstick/lipgloss in the same/slightly lighter shade
DARK LIPLINER AND PINK LIP
Line your top and bottom lip
Appy a pink lip gloss or lipstick in the middle
Go over your lip liner if you must
Blend your lip liner slightly
Apply a clear lip gloss or keep it matte in true 90s essence
FASHIONS
OK! Let's get into Miss Foxy's fashions. Foxy's style is characterised by sex appeal, glamour and sleek minimalistic styles. Like her contemporaries, her style was glamourous whilst simplistic and classy.
TOPS
There are so many pictures of her wearing mostly sleeveless tops. Vests, halter tops, tube tops you name it. With or without a jacket. She often wore plain tops with not graphics or patterns on them but if there was any logo on the shirt it usually remained minimalistic.
TUBE/BANDEAU TOPS

HALTER TOPS

TANK TOPS

BOTTOMS
She wore a range of bottoms often dependent on occasion and weather.
MINISKIRTS

CAPRI'S

MID/LOW WAISTED JEANS

SHOES
Foxy in any picture is mostly seen in heels, boots, stilettos, wedges from Gucci, Manolo Blahnik, Dior etc. but she occasionally wore sneakers/trainers in pictures where she is seen in sneakers they are from Chanel. A popular sneaker at the time as well was the Prada Americaās cup.
HEELED BOOTS

STILETTOS

SNEAKERS/TRAINERS

OUTERWEAR
Fur and Leather wear in rotation for Foxy, making her looks more glamorous.
FUR COATS

LEATHER

OTHER PIECES
LOGOMANIA

MINIDRESSES

BAGS
Her bags were often small or medium sized and she would often opt for a small shoulder bag or a medium-sized handbag that she could wear on the crook of her arm.

JEWELRY
Bangles, chains, hoops, dainty bracelets and watches and dramatic drop earrings. Foxy was seen in different metals not just gold or silver. Her accessories usually elevated her minimalistic looks, almost transforming the outfit into a new look.

VERSACE; MILAN RECAP
Himari finally spreading her creative wings at the Milan Fashion Week.

September 22, 2024 (11:14PM)
House Versace's Ephemeral collection marked the entrance of global ambassador, Min Himari, into the high fashion world with designs seeking to replicate the refined yet unfortunately temporary beauty of butterflies through flowing colorful fabrics and loose hanging jewelry. This rather impressive debut resulted in several designers speaking out about the artistry behind every showcased piece, one of them being Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, and some brands have even set their sights on the young idol as a possible representative.
Fashion Week hosts the most watched showcases of the year which is why audiences were shocked that Ephemeral was premiered alongside the spring - summer collection, as it would undoubtedly occupy the spotlight due to its rather unique nature. During the last model fittings for this runway, Donatella Versace expressed wanting the project's success to reflect the unbelievable amount of work that had gone into its creation, hence letting her protƩgƩe close off the night in order to truly leave lasting impressions on attendees.
'The Hand of Midas is an accurate title for her, these designs went from mere sketches on a page to museum worthy pieces.' She said. 'The world should witness these ephemeral wonders before they sadly disappear.'
The artistic director kept the afterparty outfit secret even from the idol herself and those staying on track with updates were far from disappointed when she stepped out of the car wearing a custom made short butterfly dress. Royalty had long been associated with this young ace and some photographers even expressed feeling a sense of admiration when catching their first glance of her walking onto the carpet, bejeweled hand supported by Versace Prince, Hwang Hyunjin, to regain balance;

Photography Credits; @/versace on Instagram
The ambassador's bandmates, Song Mingi and Choi San - who was in the city for the Dolce & Gabbana show-, received invitations to the event despite having no affiliation with the brand in order to not only witness this momentous occasion for their industry but to offer comfort to the nervous upcoming designer as well. With the rapper being in a romantic relationship with their youngest, it led to some sweet moments caught on camera;
When the show came to an end the rapper could be seen wrapping large arms on her body and spinning the two of them around before placing the most tender yet lasting kiss on her lips, some reporters on the scene managing to capture his endless whispered praises. A somewhat brief conversation ensued before the vocalist found refuge in his chain adorned neck with adorable squeals of excitement, attendees along with the house's designer herself stopped to admire their display of heartwarming affection.
'Himari had told me about their relationship, but I've never seen them together in person before.' Shared Donatella. 'To see two people so in love with each other is almost unbelievable...but I'm happy our Princess found her soulmate.'
The members who unfortunately could not attend conveyed respect and pride for their maknae through livestreams in which they made sure that fans were aware of just how much work went on behind the scenes, most ending their lengthy speeches with tears - showcasing the genuine love tying these idols together. While in the music industry the young woman is somewhat guided by the other artists' voices when creating tracks, this night proved to all that behind her delicate beauty was personal artistry extending far beyond unique harmonies.

...........ROSAVA NOTCIS........
---------------------------Ėāŗ. ą¼¶ āĖā¹āā”āĖāŗ. ą¼¶ āĖā¹----------------------------
SHE/HER PINK BLOOD
Rosava is a DJ from the sprawling coastal metropolis of New Pacifica, a shimmering, sleepless city where dreams are currency and sound never stops. Within its subterranean music scene, Rosava has carved out a name for herself, known for her sharp turntable instincts and genre-bending sound that blends broken-beat electronica, ghostly vocals, and pulses of old-world soul. Sheās a known face in the after-midnight circuit, playing in neon-washed clubs, rooftop raves, and even secret shows in decommissioned cargo docks.
Though still underground, she's no beginner. Rosava has released several records on indie labels, and her latest self-produced album, "Nightflower", is slowly gaining a cult following on synth-heavy music forums and pirate streams. She occasionally sings on her tracks, layering in raw, emotionally charged vocals, a contrast to her slick production. Some critics call her "the voice of a night city," though she laughs at that.
By day, she leads a different life: juggling contracts as a social media manager and digital marketer, consulting for startups, mid-tier brands, and occasionally, underground fashion lines that match her vibe. It's not glamorous, but it pays the bills, mostly. She has a master's in computer engineering, and while she once dreamed of building systems for music platforms, her path veered into the creative underground instead. That mix of logic and rhythm still defines her, though her live sets are built on custom-coded beat-match algorithms and self-designed visuals that sync with her pulse.
She lives in a lived-in apartment high up in an aging complex called The Block 88 , which locals say was once a hotel for ship captains. Her most beloved possession is her rooftop fruit garden, a patch of soil and soul she tends with care. The star is her miniature papaya tree, affectionately named "Little JeJe"āa tribute to the late underground rapper Little JeJe, whose music helped her through her hardest years. She's often seen talking to the tree like an old friend while misting the leaves with filtered water.
Rosava shares the apartment with her cousin Veylar, a quiet and shy young man she officially adopted in her early twenties. He was barely out of teenhood when she took him in, and she still calls him grub sometimes, though he's now nearly her height. They're more like siblings, arguing over dishes one minute, planning rooftop movie nights the next. Sheās his anchor, his guide, and his idol. She knows it, and takes that seriously, even if she'd never admit it aloud.
Despite her busy life, Rosava always finds time for the things that keep her grounded: vinyl hunting in the old quarter, catching moonlight ferry rides, and attending late-night philosophy salons in virtual reality. She keeps a leather-bound journal filled with abstract sketches, dream fragments, and future track ideas. Some nights, she dreams of opening a small vinyl cafƩ with live sets, herbal tea, and silent film projections.

It doesnāt matter if itās a special tour capsule collection or a collaboration with top brands; these pieces always sell out quickly. Today, OVO clothing is one of the most in-demand streetwear brands because of its exclusivity and high resale value.
Sustainability and Ethical Practices
As streetwear brands face increasing scrutiny, OVO has taken strides toward responsible manufacturing. While full transparency remains a work in progress, the brand has begun to highlight locally sourced materials and sustainable production methods in select collections. Ongoing partnerships with Canadian manufacturers also help minimize the brandās carbon footprint.
The Future of OVO Clothing
OVOās trajectory shows no signs of slowing. With rumors of expansion into fragrance, footwear, and international retail, the brand is positioning itself to rival major fashion houses while staying rooted in hip-hop culture.
Drakeās continued relevance in music and fashion ensures OVOās enduring appeal. As long as OVO remains authentic to its rootsāquality, exclusivity, and cultural connectionāits dominance in the streetwear landscape is secure.

The catwalk, to the dresses, and even delivering your best answers with the right choice of words to express. He couldn't be more supportive and aloud of it fully flexing you. Amidst all the success and even places, you've participated in this event. You have your doubts about it, seeing every beautiful woman who has the bigger ambition, wits, and brains your self-esteem gradually gives you the nervewracking feeling that you're not good enough. But, Allen brings out his positivity that you'll do your best no matter what, you're always his number on the queen in his heart.

At what point do they give their utmost supportive hype and a wingman they are to you when you compete? Anne gives the best advice and makeover for you to look gorgeous. They're your hair, and make-up artist, and stylish. Anne insisted so since the beginning. Let's you take their stuff to wear to the pageant. An ever-undying love they could give to you was offering things they knew to help you work within. You were their muse and model for fashion and style. When Anne notices your inner burden you won't be enough like those who are not what Anne sees. They will snap and tell you that you rock better. Kicking the start to compliment and non-stop appreciation they see when you walk the runaway. When they see your confidence so bright it makes me feel like they have never seen beauty in their eyes, they will not stop giving you words of affirmation to prove your worth and hyping you until you're back on track! How they love the confidence you're building if they were there to guide and help you out, right? Anne is the perfect one to be there.

There are times when he buys you lavishing gifts such as clothes that he thinks look beautiful and fabulous on you, what make-up you wear, shoes, bags, you name it! He spoils you on what he thinks is the best. Hajun isn't verbally keen upon your doubts that you're not the confident queen he sees on stage their insecurities linger in. And you know what he does to redeem and reflect you to get back on track? Hajun tries to comfort you and tells you that every queen has its downsides and insecurities within that is what makes them powerful. They're building, Hajun rarely speaks such comfort for you to feel better as you listen which makes it a lot better.

Gold Grillz: The Ultimate Guide to This Iconic Dental Jewelry

Gold grillzĀ have long been a symbol of luxury, status, and individuality in hip-hop culture and beyond. These custom-made dental accessories, often adorned with diamonds or intricate designs, have evolved from a niche trend to a mainstream fashion statement. Whether you're a fan of flashy jewelry or simply curious about this unique accessory, this guide covers everything you need to know aboutĀ gold grillz, from their history to how to care for them.
What Are Gold Grillz?
Gold grillz, also known as "grills," are decorative covers typically made of gold, platinum, or other precious metals that fit over the teeth. They can be removable or permanent, depending on personal preference. SomeĀ gold grillzĀ feature diamonds, gemstones, or custom engravings, making them a highly personalized form of self-expression.
Originally popularized by hip-hop artists in the 1980s and 1990s,Ā gold grillzĀ have since been embraced by celebrities, athletes, and fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
The History of Gold Grillz
The origins ofĀ gold grillzĀ can be traced back to ancient civilizations. The Etruscans (around 800 BC) and Mayans were known to decorate their teeth with gold and precious stones as a sign of wealth and status. However, the modern version ofĀ gold grillzĀ gained prominence in the 1980s, thanks to hip-hop culture.
Rappers like Flavor Flav and Big Daddy Kane were among the first to popularizeĀ gold grillzĀ in the music scene. By the early 2000s, artists like Nelly, Paul Wall, and Lil Wayne brought them into mainstream fashion, makingĀ gold grillzĀ a must-have accessory for those wanting to flaunt their success.
Types of Gold Grillz
Not allĀ gold grillzĀ are the same. They come in various styles, materials, and designs to suit different tastes and budgets. Here are the most common types:
1. Solid Gold Grillz
These are made from pure gold (10K, 14K, 18K, or 24K) and are the most luxurious option. SolidĀ gold grillzĀ are durable, long-lasting, and offer a premium shine.
2. Gold-Plated Grillz
A more affordable alternative, gold-platedĀ grillzĀ are made from a base metal (like stainless steel or brass) and coated with a thin layer of gold. While they look similar to solid gold, they may tarnish over time.
3. Diamond-Encrusted Grillz
For those who want extra bling, diamondĀ gold grillzĀ feature embedded diamonds or other gemstones. These are often custom-made and can be extremely expensive.
4. Removable vs. Permanent Grillz
Removable grillzĀ can be taken out whenever desired, making them a flexible option.
Permanent grillzĀ are bonded to the teeth, offering a long-term solution but requiring professional installation.
How Are Gold Grillz Made?
CreatingĀ gold grillzĀ is a detailed process that involves several steps:
Dental ImpressionsĀ ā A mold of the teeth is taken to ensure a perfect fit.
Design & CustomizationĀ ā The desired gold type, gemstones, and engravings are selected.
Casting & ShapingĀ ā The gold is melted and shaped into the grill structure.
Polishing & FinishingĀ ā The final product is polished for a flawless shine.
Professional jewelers and dental technicians often collaborate to create high-qualityĀ gold grillzĀ that are both stylish and safe to wear.
How to Wear Gold Grillz
WearingĀ gold grillzĀ is a bold fashion choice, and there are a few things to keep in mind:
Start with a temporary setĀ if you're new to grillz, to see how they feel.
Ensure proper fitĀ ā Ill-fitting grillz can damage teeth or gums.
Clean them regularlyĀ ā Bacteria can build up, so proper hygiene is essential.
Avoid eating with them onĀ ā Some foods can damage or dislodge grillz.
Celebrities Who Love Gold Grillz
Many A-listers have embracedĀ gold grillzĀ as part of their signature style:
Lil WayneĀ ā Known for his diamond-studdedĀ gold grillz.
RihannaĀ ā Has sported custom gold and platinum grillz.
Travis ScottĀ ā Often seen with sleek gold mouthpieces.
Post MaloneĀ ā Famous for his extensive collection of unique grillz.
Are Gold Grillz Safe?
WhileĀ gold grillzĀ are generally safe when worn correctly, there are some risks:
Tooth DamageĀ ā Poorly fitted grillz can scratch enamel or cause misalignment.
Gum IrritationĀ ā Low-quality metals may cause allergic reactions.
Bacterial GrowthĀ ā Without proper cleaning, grillz can harbor harmful bacteria.
To minimize risks, always purchaseĀ gold grillzĀ from reputable jewelers and maintain good oral hygiene.
How to Clean and Maintain Gold Grillz
Keeping yourĀ gold grillzĀ in top condition requires regular care:
Rinse After UseĀ ā Remove food particles by rinsing with water.
Use a Soft ToothbrushĀ ā Gently scrub with mild soap or a jewelry cleaner.
Store ProperlyĀ ā Keep them in a clean, dry case when not in use.
Avoid Harsh ChemicalsĀ ā Bleach and alcohol can damage the gold finish.
Where to Buy Gold Grillz
High-qualityĀ gold grillzĀ can be purchased from:
Specialized JewelersĀ ā Look for stores that specialize in dental jewelry.
Custom Grillz DesignersĀ ā Many artists offer bespoke designs.
Online RetailersĀ ā Ensure they have positive reviews and use authentic materials.

BTSā SUGA Returns as Agust D to Tackle Loneliness, Humanity & BeingĀ Acknowledged
Back under his solo moniker, SUGA is feeling two decades of songwriting and producing connect universally: "We're finally getting recognized as musicians."
Most famously known asĀ SUGAĀ fromĀ BTSĀ ā but also by the solo monikerĀ Agust D, as well as birth name Min Yoongi ā the artist who works as a rapper, singer, producer, dancer,Ā fashion museĀ andĀ NBA ambassadorĀ wants to remind listeners that, above all, he is a human.
Today, April 7, marks the return of Agust D, the name SUGA uses when releasing solo projects away from BTS, with the new single āPeople Pt.2ā featuring K-pop superstarĀ IU. Not only does it mark the duoās latest collaboration after teaming for the No. 1 hit onĀ BillboardāsĀ World Digital Song SalesĀ chartĀ āeightāĀ from May 2020, it also acts as an extension fromĀ āPeople,āĀ a fan-favorite cut fromĀ Agust DāsĀ D-2Ā mixtapeĀ released that same month. While the original āPeopleā saw SUGA reflecting on himself and meditating on how others judge and change, Part 2 longs for connection with others.
As multifaceted as SUGAās world is, loneliness is a permanent source of inspiration and intrigue for the 30-year-old. Hours before āPeople Pt.2ā drops worldwide, his call withĀ BillboardĀ occurs alongside multiple international teams who work around the clock for SUGA and BIGHITĀ MUSICĀ artists. Some are beside him physically, others via Zoom connection virtually ā but loneliness remains a muse for the star, assisting him in searching within and speaking to listeners in larger, universal ways.
Since its debut, BTSā musical appeal has reached globally largely through the septetās extended metaphors and imagery, translating into accessible storytelling alongside boundary-pushing compositions and choreography. SUGAās range of material is vast, after producing on essentially every BTS album, not to mention scoring high-profile collaborations with everyone fromĀ HalseyĀ andĀ Juice WRLDĀ toĀ Epik HighĀ and Japanās ĆMI. But now, heās emphasizing the topics that move him personally ā and ensuring heās properly heard.
Despite an already packed spring and summer with album promo, his solo world tour, ambassadorship duties and a YouTube series, SUGA cheekily closes out our chat (āYeah, itās fāking busy,ā he says with a wink) since he has no time to waste. Read on as he narrows in on the release of āPeople Pt.2ā and all thatās led up to this reflective pop/hip-hop collaboration.
Weāre hours away from the release of āPeople Pt.2,ā your official return as Agust D for yourĀ D-DayĀ album. Is there a different mindset when you prepare music as Agust D versus solo or as SUGA alongside BTS?
SUGA:Ā Theyāre all music made by the person called Min Yoongi. So, I donāt actually have a very different mindset for each moniker ā but I would say that the purposes could be somewhat different. Ultimately, the goal of releasing this music is for as many people to listen to my music as possible. So, āPeople Pt.2ā was made thinking about how people will receive Agust Dās music, which is why we also featured IU. Itās kind of a trial to release this music under the name Agust D. Iām actually a little bit worried.
āPeople Pt.2ā (featuring IU) of course follows up āPeopleā from theĀ D-2Ā mixtape.Ā What was important about continuing this story with IU?
This is a story that youāll personally love: The title wasnāt originally āPeople Pt.2.ā Actually, āPeopleā fromĀ D-2Ā is personally my favorite song ā and we actually worked on āPeople Pt.2ā three years ago. When I was releasing my pictorial [Photo-FolioĀ Wholly or Whole Me] photo shoot,Ā the company actually revealed the guide [demo] versionĀ and gave a glimpse of it to the public. But anyway, it was already finished when we were working onĀ D-2Ā so I was thinking, āOh, I should release this, I should release this.ā But we had to get on with āButterā and āDynamiteā so we didnāt get the chance.
Originally, the title was āSara (ģ¬ė¼),ā without the āM (ć
)ā consonant in Korean ā because thatās, like, one consonant less than the word āsaram (ģ¬ė),ā which is Korean for āpeople.ā Depending on whichever consonant you put at the end of the word sara (ģ¬ė¼), it can become āsaram (ģ¬ė)ā and āpeople,ā or it can becomeĀ āsarang ģ¬ė,āĀ or āloveā in Korean. So, itās the listenerās choice to put which consonant you want at the end of āsaraā (ģ¬ė¼). But I had my friend listen to this son and people heard it as āsal-ah (ģ“ģ)ā which kind of means āliveā in Korean and I was like, āThis is not going to work.ā So, we finalized the title to be āPeopleā in the end.
And some people call me August D, some people call meĀ Ah-gust D, but Iām actually Agust D. So, you know, people take my name differently and we had to sync the person SUGA and Agust D. This is a song that kind of matches that sync. We need that bridge and sync between my mixtape and this official solo album. In order to put that sync together, I had to make this a very pop song. We didnāt try to make the music video that intense ā and, in that sense, IU really played an important role in doing that. I also think this is a genre that I can do best, this pop-focused song.
Thereās this sync between songs, but the themes and lyrics are very different, right? āPeopleā was self-reflective and examined other peopleās judgments, but āPeople Pt.2ā seems more about connection and fighting loneliness. What most differentiates the two in your mind?
In the past ā and Iāve always said this in my interviews ā personally, I think loneliness is being together in modern society. I always talk about loneliness in my interviews, but regretfully, it isnāt always in the final interview. Not only me, everyone has this loneliness inside them until the moment they die. However deep you are in a relationship, how much you engage with other people, how many friends you meet, or how often you meet with your family, you always have the loneliness inside.
So, I started with this keyword of ālonelinessā three years ago, and I wouldnāt say thereās much difference in that everybody can feel pain and agonized. Itās the same with me. Whether itās me from BTS, SUGA, Min Yoongi, or Agust D, I always have that inside me too. People might see me as someone who wouldnāt have any concerns or worries or that I donāt feel any agony, but I feel those emotions too. Iām trying to find a way to fight those and overcome those too.
This album doesnāt really finalize everything in its message either. So, there might be a possibility there could be a āPart 3ā later on. For now, weāre just trying to say, āLetās not hate each other. Letās find a way.ā
I like that ā because even in theĀ Road to D-DayĀ documentary trailer, thereās a moment you say you frequently consider quitting music. But when people come together, it makes you realize you can do it and have fun. Does this tie into themes of āPeople Pt.2ā?
This is kind of a difficult topic, because I started making music and writing lyrics [when] I was 11 or 12 years old. Iāve been making music for all these years, and now Iām 30. It wasnāt easy writing āPeople Pt.2,ā and the album overall, but people really donāt know the whole process of that. Even though Iād been making music more than half of my life ā and Iām just saying this because you understand this, Jeff ā when we first started in the K-pop scene, we were in this ambiguous position of not being accepted as musicians and not being accepted as idols either. But the musicians close to me know that Iām very serious and sincere in music and that Iām a very natural person.
So, the documentary started as I just wanted to capture and show this process. It started with the purpose of showing SUGA as a producer and songwriter, but it kind of ended up having the worldview of an album-making process. I tried to show the normal, individual side of me as much as possible, but as I am a Korean idol, or K-idol, a lot of scenes were edited out; there were more of those natural scenes and some very good scenes that couldnāt make it in the final version. The documentary and āPeople Pt.2ā try to reveal the natural side of the human Min Yoongi. I just wanted to show that I am this humane person. I am just a human.
You need to release your āDirectorās Cutā one day. WhileĀ D-DayĀ and the documentary are coming, I want to congratulate you on the worldwide release ofĀ D-2Ā andĀ Agust DĀ this week. My favorite song, āAgust Dā with the sample of āItās a Manās Manās Manās World,ā was finally added to streaming too. You shared howĀ J. ColeĀ approved BTSāĀ āBorn SingerāĀ sample, what can you share about the process withĀ James Brownās estate?
I releasedĀ Agust DĀ when I was still very young, so, even as I listen to it now, it kind of sounds immature ā if you listen to the tone, the rap itself wasnāt very organized, I wanted to do a lot of things at that time. It just kind of keeps going very tightly and quickly. But after doing so much various and diverse music, I think that people love the songs that have been released more recently than the songs that were released back then. So, I kind of dare say that people are starting to recognize and acknowledge these songs now. Since the musician actually passed away, I think it was the family who decided to acknowledge it.
Same thing with [clearing] āBorn Sinnerā ā and I donāt know what the path was for the musician themselves, but it was clear. And I take it as that I, as BTS, and Min Yoongi, and SUGA, and Agust D, was acknowledged as a musician. Iām really not thinking that broader consumers or audiences will accept it, because itās not really popular music. Still, I would dare assume that itās getting cleared because weāre finally getting recognized as musicians.
