Time travel Au where Teen Kakavasha suddenly appears in the future and Aventurine is nowhere in sight. Ratio takes it upon himself to care for him, but Kakavasha's dull expression haunts him at every step of the way.

Eventually he learns he could never save Aventurine, could never erase the pain he has been through and he could never make things okay for Kakavasha even if they did develop a somewhat close relationship, because even if he tried, Kakavasha will be going back to that horrible place just to suffer some more.

When Kakavasha disappears again and Aventurine comes back, he's in a horrible state. He's disassociated, dirty, and broken all over again. But contrary to what Ratio expects, after Aventurine has come to his normal senses, he breaks down in front of him in a moment of exhaustion and weakness, he cries about how much he missed the present and how much he missed Veritas. But one thing he says sticks to him;

"I remember now, I don't know how I could have ever forgotten you, Doctor. You gave me something to look forward to in the future. The cats, Topaz, Numby, You. You made me want to keep going, and I'll be forever grateful."

It's not okay. It hasn't been okay, and it will probably never be okay, but maybe Veritas can at least attempt to ease Aven-- Kakavasha's pain for a while.

((MAYBE if someone decides to write that, there's some nice paralels you can make with Penacony . . . Just a sugestion

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony

A) sends you right back into the worst prison for mafia criminals you just escaped from, but even worse than before (enjoy being unconscious and tied up in your one room swimming pool for the next 10 years)

B) freezes you with flames burning so hot they turned into ice (< this isn't how the zero point breakthrough is explained in canon but it's the more dramatic explanation), fully knowing you were already frozen by similar ones for 8 years until, like, a month prior

C) burns you fucking alive and also undoes the last 10 years of your existence across all existing timelines. also he won't think anything about it afterwards ever (?????? like. it's not that he didn't deserve it, to be clear, but damn. 😭😭😭 middle schoolers when you just want to take over the world(s) for a bit, smdh 🙄)

D) is willing to become the boss of the most powerful mafia family in the world with a bloodstained history if it means getting the opportunity to get his hands on you and kill you beat the shit out of you. but you're lucky he likes you so you could stay on very thin ice long enough for both of you to clear things up

E) gangs up against you with all the current and future strongest people in the world, and then punches you so hard he makes you see the light of doing the right thing despite your centuries years old deep rooted hatred which singlehandedly kept you alive as an undead person

also reminder he did all that while he was only 14 years old. this is all things he did in less than a year.

I’m fucking dying Astarion’s early party banter is him just flirting with all the companions and striking out; none of them are having it. When he comes on to Tav at the party, not only is he manipulating them, but they are literally his last choice. Not even plan b or c, Tav was plan ‘fuck it, I guess we’re doing this!’ and that clown still fell into his own pit trap.
