It’s been two weeks today since my father passed away so I made a playlist of all the fun tunes he used to have going in the background during our car rides. A lot of these songs I know by heart and they definitely have grown on me spite some of them not being quite my taste. I feel a lot of nostalgia going back through these tracks, I’m sure I’ll add more as time goes on since I’m positive this isn’t all of them.
Enjoy the throw back hits, some are definitely classic tunes but some are a little bit off the beating path. It was nice to crank this while I was off on bereavement leave.
Cheers!

"Hey, what's your sign?"
"Dragon." "What? No, what's your sign?"
Initiating ABC PANIC mode.
I learned about the Western zodiac signs in middle school, until then I didn't really know about them. The first time I was asked my zodiac sign I instinctively answered with the Chinese Zodiac, because Chinese people often ask "What year are you?". Except I was in school when this person asked, and I immediately went into panic mode because I gave a cultural answer rather than the accepted western American answer.
Long story short, word got out I said I was dragon, which I am, but the rumor went around as if I was a furry for like 2 weeks with people growling and roaring at me.
But you know no one aint gonna blink if you say you are a goat-fish chimera or a crab.

Being Boring: A Glimpse into the 1990s
When you’re young you find inspirationIn anyone who’s ever goneAnd opened up a closing doorShe said: “We were never feeling bored“ The Pet Shop Boys released “Being Boring” in November 1990. It was the second single from their album Behaviour. The song nostalgically reflects on youth, friendship, and the passing of time while Neil Tennant sings lyrically about teenage parties and losing a dear…

Time travel is a reality! However, it's still in the early stages, and you can only go as far back as seventy-something years.
Feel free to explain your reasons in the tags :P

as someone who figured out i was queer only because i fell in love with my best friend without realising it i'm gonna need some of you to get off your weird high horse that has somehow decided that someone discovering their sexuality via their love for someone else is not valid or good representation or whatever the fuck some of you are banging on about like yeah i am not queer because of that person but they did in fact play a very significant part in my journey of self-discovery and that's actually okay you fucking weirdos it's not even uncommon and yes this is about eddie diaz like "eddie's sexuality shouldn't be about buck" well actually it can be like he's absolutely allowed that journey sometimes you fall in love with your best friend and have to re-evaluate everything you thought you knew about yourself because of those feelings for that person some people are only able to begin to comprehend their sexuality through their relationship with someone else and considering eddie's background that actually makes the most sense so like i get where you're coming from but also no <3

Man I honestly kinda miss the cage lockers we used to have in elementary school

this kinda stuff
yes they looked scary (especially ours which were dark blue-green and in a shaded hallway with small windows) but that was part of the charm. it felt badass. especially when we'd try to climb on them when the teachers weren't around

Talia even being called an assassin gives me the ick because when she was first introduced she hated killing, felt immense guilt the few times she had to, and most of the time if it looked like she killed someone it turned out to be anaesthesia or a tranquilizer or something. Like she was literally studying to be a doctor when her and Bruce met and she was based off of the stereotypical Bond Girl because it was the 70's. Like I know it's basically her entire character now that she's an "assassin mom" or whatever but that was not who she was intended to be and I hate how it's done most of the time because it's ALWAYS a way to point and say "look at the evil brown woman! She's a cold blooded killer who forced/passively allowed her son to kill as well! It's a good thing that the feral brown boy is now with his good white family so he can learn the value of life and art and how to exist in civil society!" And it's actually really pissing me off. You guys don't even read a characters introduction comic before you start writing the same regurgitated nonsense steeped in racism and misogyny. Damian's whole character as it stands is basically character assassination for Talia and in order for me to be able to engage with him he'd have to be entirely rewritten.

Homelander x fem!reader
Reader making a mix tape for Homelander and explaining the symbolism of making a mix tape
"You-" Homelander's voice cracks as he holds the cassette up for inspection. "You made this for me?" "Yeah, I just thought you might like some of these songs and I know the cabin has an old cassette player, so I just thought..." You trail off, cheeks turning brighter the longer you stand there. Homelander is staring at the tape, held between forefinger and thumb. He's blinking rapidly. "You don't have to listen to it, or whatever-" You start again, nerves putting a small quaver in your voice. It's stupid, is left unsaid but you think it all the same. Previous partners have said as much. "No, no. This is a cassette tape. You even decorated it." He flips the cassette over, taking in the designs across the label and the extra stickers. Lots of stars and stripes. Campey and cute. "You took the time to use this old tech for me?" Finally, Homelander's eyes settle on your face. "Ah, yeah. I just wanted to make you something. It- It wasn't so hard. There's software that makes mixing tracks easy and transferring it to a cassette only takes the proper wiring," You go on in a rush, eager to explain that tidbit from your hobby now that Homelander is watching you with a bit of wonder. He doesn't say thank you aloud. That's not his way. Instead, Homelander tugs you close to nuzzle his nose against your own before kissing you.
