One of the neatest things about missing episodes getting DVD releases is the unique logos made for each serial:

Galactic Gazetteer: Noss
Type: desert planet
Suns: three
Location: Galaxy 4
Status: destroyed
Visited by: the First Doctor, Vicki and Steven
Appearance: Galaxy 4 (1965)
Fun fact: a Drahvin ship attacked a Rill vessel and both crashed on the planet, which was unstable and going to explode in two days.
Another fun fact: this planet doesn't actually have a name, but Gary Russell called it Noss when he was working on the animated version and that's good enough for me.

Galaxy 4 The Doctor, Vicki and Steven arrive on an arid planet where they meet the beautiful Drahvins and the hideous Rills. Each has crash-landed after a confrontation in space. The Rills are friendly, compassionate explorers. The Drahvins are dull-witted, cloned soldiers, terrorised by the intelligent, warlike matriarch Maaga.
Both ships are damaged. The Drahvins' craft is irreparable, whereas the Rills' is almost ready to take off; however, the Rills have been unable to find a compatible fuel source. Although unable to breathe the oxygen atmosphere, they employ efficient robot drones, which Vicki nicknames "Chumblies". Despite numerous offers by the Rills to take Maaga and her crew to safety, she refuses their aid. When the planet is discovered to be on the point of disintegration, Maaga tries to force the time travellers to help her steal the Rills' ship and kill the Rills. Instead, the Doctor allows the Rills to draw power from the TARDIS to refuel and escape, leaving the Drahvins to their fate.
The Impossible Planet / The Satan Pit The Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler lose the TARDIS down a deep chasm, leaving themselves stranded on a space base positioned on a planet in the orbit of a black hole. Meanwhile, an entity who identifies as Satan himself is awakening and beginning to cause chaos amongst the crew.
The Tenth Doctor faces off against an enemy that defies all his beliefs while Rose and the survivors of the Sanctuary Base 6 crew are trying to escape from the Beast's legion of possessed Ood. Can the Doctor stop an impossible enemy from escaping its prison, and save the universe?

February’s #DWartistchallenge is ‘Send two characters on a date’. I know I missed Valentine’s Day, which would’ve been perfect, but I hope I can make it up with not one, but four dates! Zarbi x Yeti, Monoid x Vervoid, Nimon x Zygon and Raxacoricofallapatorian x Rill

SUSAN: “I can't, Mister Chesterton. You can't simply work on three of the dimensions.”
IAN: “Three of them? Oh, time being the fourth dimension, I suppose? Then what do you need E for? What do you make the fifth dimension?”
SUSAN: “Space.”
“DOCTOR: Yes, the planet Quinnis, of the fourth universe.”
VICKI: “Time [fourth dimension], like space [fifth dimension], though a dimension in itself, has dimensions of its own.”
THE RILLS: “Though we are beings of separate planets, you from the solar system and we from another space, our ways of thought, at times, do not seem all that different.”
MALPHA: “Suppose they send a message through this universe?”
[...]
MALPHA: “This is indeed an historic moment in the history of the universe. We six from the outer galaxies, joining with the power from the solar system, the Daleks!”
Revisiting this post of mine after rewatching Galaxy 4 and fixating on the Rills’ phrasing a little. Playing with the Hartnell era’s outdated (often intentionally) or kitschy, already rusted “space-age” approach to cosmology.
The outdated way of viewing galaxies as “island universes,” the idea of “galaxy” and “universe” being interchangeable terms. “Space” as something just as surreal, strange, as “Time,” with multiple dimensions of its own. The reverberation, the haunted humming, of evil and machine monsters tapping into a sort’ve “cosmic unreality.” The night sky endless “island universes” drifting past, beside, and through each other. Different galaxies, sure, but evidently equal as different dimensions, entirely different definitions of “space” and “universe.” Different properties. Dreamlike. Child’s logic.
And this approach to space sort’ve slips away textually with Troughton, replaced with the eerie, spooky sense of vast space, of whole worlds and universes hidden in the folds of humming velvet black, but it still... I dunno.
And it’s all so... empty.
Perhaps, to jump a few eras and (extreme) aesthetics later, distressingly empty.
