If you don't check out the Tardis Wiki while watching, you are truly missing out on nuggets like AN ACTUAL BEAR BEING HIRED for this episode
And, at least for this serial, all the real world life influences to the story like a fear of Nuclear Winter and fear of Global Food Shortages

The Ice Warriors The TARDIS arrives on Earth in a new ice age. The travellers make their way into a base where scientists, commanded by Leader Clent, are using an ioniser device to combat the advance of a glacier.
A giant humanoid creature, called an Ice Warrior by one of the scientists, has been found buried in the nearby glacier. When thawed, it revives and is revealed to be Varga, captain of a Martian spacecraft that landed on Earth centuries ago and is still in the glacier. Varga sets about freeing his comrades and formulating a plan to conquer the Earth — Mars itself is now dead.
The scientists realise that continued use of the ioniser could make the ship's engines explode. Their computer is unable to advise them without more information. Disaster seems imminent. The disaffected scientist Penley, supported by the Second Doctor, decides to risk activating the ioniser. There is only a minor explosion which destroys the Martians and, at the same time, checks the ice flow.
Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead The Tenth Doctor takes Donna Noble to a planet-sized library in the 52nd century. They find it empty of human life, with countless other living beings. An information kiosk warns them to "count the shadows". An archaeological expedition arrives, led by the mysterious Professor River Song, who brings the cryptic last message sent from the library: "4022 saved, No survivors".
Donna is gone, the Vashta Nerada are out for fresh meat and the Tenth Doctor is running out of options. Can he trust the mysterious Professor River Song, a woman who claims to be from his future? Why would his future self have given her his sonic screwdriver, or tell her his real name? Even if they do work together, can anyone stop the shadows from claiming them all as their next meal?

Victoria's age is never stated in the show and Deborah Watling was 19 when she joined the show and Frazer was 22 so it's safe to assume they're a similar age.
Yes! It seems like mixed reports. Some wikis have her at like 14-16 when entering the tardis but this feels more in brand and makes me feel better age wise.
I also reblogged a broke woke bespoke about that specific scene that essentially is theorizing that Jamie was more intrigued by fashion history itself and I like that head canon most.

JNT changed the order so "Fenric" would air around Halloween. I never thought linking "Doctor Who" stories together is a smart idea - what happens if the broadcast order has to be changed because of five seconds before midnight tragic event or important sports are rescheduled at the last minute (that is what happened with Season 25 - the Seoul Olympics were delayed for some weeks because of a weather disaster in South Korea).
Some interesting BTS facts that I hadn't known before - thanks for sharing these! I agree, I don't think it's a very good idea to link stories together, at least to such an extent where certain events are referenced.
I remember during Two's era, the Doctor told Astrid in The Enemy of the World that they didn't know what was going on because they'd been "on ice" for a while. It references the previous story The Ice Warriors, but I think the comment was vague enough that if stories were reversed it wouldn't have made too much of a difference. Then again, stories were rarely (if at all) filmed or broadcast out of order back then. The first I'm aware of was during Five's era where Four to Doomsday was filmed first and then Castrovalva months later.
EDIT: Actually, I just remembered it occurred in Four's era... I think Adric's first filmed story was State of Decay .. . Full Circle was filmed a month or more later.
