SPOILERS FOR FANTASTIC FOUR (2025)!!!!

johnny storm's heart was so evident in this movie. he was seconds away from sacrificing his life for sue and reed's baby not once but TWICE in this film. no questions asked. it was instinct. when he told silver surfer to take him and not the baby, a part of me died but also came to life because we finally have a live action johnny storm that unabashedly shows his true heart behind his stereotypical arrogant, funny guy exterior. i love johnny storm.

FANTASTIC FOUR SPOILERS

I just came back from watching it and my favorite part of the movie was how they depicted Johnny and his intelligence.

Johnny in this movie is actually competent and it is highlighted in many scenes. He’s often the first one to reaction in situations and when they’re trying to escape Silver Surfer, he’s the one who figured out how to use the space warp against her all on his own.

And then there’s the biggest example of all, Johnny basically decoding an alien language by himself. Man had a singular phrase, some recordings and a dream.

Again, he did it all on his own. He worked on it in the dark, day by day, figured out translations and then singularly used it against the Silver Surfer in an attempt to gain her support.

Yes Johnny is reckless, he’s flighty but he’s also competent. He was trained and picked to be an astronaut for a reason, not because he was Sue’s brother and Reed’s brother in law.

The movie highlighted everyone’s strengths, intellect and talents in a way that made everyone have an important part in the story. This allowed them to add their own weight into the story and stand shoulder to shoulder with Reed’s intellect.
