Gonna answer this reply on my Monster Falls AU list with a post !

So, Pacifica is a Futakuchi-onna, which is from Japanese folklore and means "two-mouthed woman"

I chose it for Pacifica because of the fact it's more subtle, not obvious at first and she'd be able to make an effort to hide it. Both because she wants to but also because her family is pressuring her to, to still be "normal" amongst all the other monstrous beings.

She'd begin to hide it and keep hiding it until she literally can't anymore from the second mouth and her hair are doing their own thing, speaking and moving on their own wills, and she'd have to learn to coexist and live with it more comfortably and not hide it

I think it fits her and her development as a character very well basically ! :D

Futakuchi-onna Decora Fashion Queen

So More Japanese Yokai horror today, and this time its the Futakuchi-onna, a uh woman with two mouths one on the back of her head, and well I had fun doing it, I was going to go something simple and do her eating just basic takoyaki and then I added a bobba drink for fun and decided to make this classic yokai in a modern setting, people have done that before right? 

And as I was drawing I was thinking of Japanese street fashion and I remembered one called decora which is about decoration oneself with lots and lots of accessories, and this one is basically hair based because I thought it would be a fun look, don't worry the hair bands are in parts that are common split off points, no sentient hair is harmed. As for Background, well Japanese street fashion needs to be on a Japanese street right? And so I based this lovely street on a part of Dotonbori which is the inspiration of Sotenbori -hides all my yakuza games- funny how that happened right? -hiding the Majima merch- So I think this is a cute image and I hope I can do something both cute and scary for this.

New oc dropped… again but this time for my fixation on a fandom. I’m scared to tag it.🥴 I’m just gonna be straight up honest, she’s meant to be shipped and they will be a guilty pleasure ship.

Her name is Amara and she has a little parasite on the back of her head that eats and controls her hair. :}

7. Futakuchi-Onna (The Woman With the Secret, Insatiable Second Mouth)

Blame:

“My wife eats like a bird, but the rice keeps disappearing.”

“I heard whispering from the back of her head, and now I’m traumatized.”

“I married a woman with a mouth in her skull, send help.”

Why They Were Hated:

1. The Horror of the "Perfect" Wife – On the surface, Futakuchi-Onna seemed like the ideal woman: polite, reserved, and barely ate anything (a huge plus in times of food scarcity). But the catch? She had a second, gluttonous mouth on the back of her head that never shut up and never stopped eating.

2. She Couldn’t Hide Forever – Eventually, her secret was always discovered. Some husbands noticed their rice storage mysteriously vanishing. Others woke up to the sound of whispering and chewing—which is nightmare fuel if you weren’t expecting it.

3. The Mouth Had a Mind of Its Own – This wasn’t just a second mouth. It talked. It screamed. It demanded food. If it wasn’t fed, it would throw tantrums, forcing its host to suffer. Imagine dealing with a constant, back-of-the-head hunger demon.

4. Sometimes, It Was a Curse – Some versions say a woman became a Futakuchi-Onna as punishment for starving a stepchild or letting someone die of hunger. The second mouth was karmic justice, forcing her to experience endless hunger for the rest of her life.

5. Men Were Afraid of Hidden Secrets – The ultimate fear? Marrying someone who seemed normal but turned out to be a supernatural horror. (Which, let’s be real, was a huge recurring theme in yokai stories. Marrying a normal woman? 0% chance. Marrying a demon, fox, or ghost? 100% guaranteed.)

Creatuanary 2025 Challenge Day 15, Futakuchi-onna A woman that did not eat. Married by a miser. Somehow the food all goes missing without her taking a bite. It is hungry. It constantly demands food.

Some doodles of designs for my Monster Falls au!

These are mostly me testing things out and figuring out their designs!

Started working on some of my Digimon backlog, so i'll post the ones that are done so far. Not working to any particular goal so these probably won't be super regular. To make the titular extra mouth of the Futakuchi-Onna, I cut out the back of the doll's head and formed a platform out of milliput to act as the tongue, using the rest to form the lips. The teeth were made separately out of translucent Fimo clay to give them a tooth-like translucence. The wires were added in before the mouth to eventually be the bases of strands of prehensile hair that will be holding food.

Though a bit ad hoc, the mouth turned out really well and looked even better when painted fully.
