I like this Mediterranean salad because of the variety of crunchy veggies, and the couscous fills me up for a while.

Fishy Business
Word count: 1.4k
Pairing: Lando Norris x reader
Summary: you are Lando Norris' girlfriend, determined to get him to try fish despite his stubborn refusal
______________________________________________________________
Lando Norris, your boyfriend and an undeniable force on the Formula 1 circuit, was also the most stubborn eater you’d ever encountered. For all his daring maneuvers on the track, he approached food with the caution of someone facing a life-threatening situation. His diet was the carefully curated mix of nutrients and proteins that a professional athlete needed to stay in peak condition, but there was one thing you couldn’t get him to eat: fish.
It wasn’t that he was allergic or that he’d had a bad experience with it in the past—Lando simply detested the idea of eating fish. The mere mention of it had him crinkling his nose in distaste. You’d tried multiple times to introduce it into his meals, always to be met with that same stubborn resistance. It was the one challenge he refused to take on, no matter how much you teased or coaxed him.
But tonight, you were determined to change that.
You had carefully planned the meal, choosing a recipe that would be impossible for anyone, even Lando, to resist. The centerpiece was a perfectly seared salmon fillet, seasoned with lemon, garlic, and herbs—flavors you knew he loved in other dishes. You’d paired it with his favorite roasted vegetables and a light, refreshing salad, hoping that the overall appeal of the meal might disguise the fact that the main course was, in fact, fish.
As you set the table, the delicious aroma filled the kitchen, making your mouth water. You knew Lando would be home soon, fresh from a day at the simulator, and you were eager to see how he’d react. Would he recognize the scent immediately, or would he only realize what was on his plate once he sat down?
The door creaked open, and you heard the familiar sound of Lando’s keys hitting the table in the hallway. He called out for you, his voice light and filled with the warmth that never failed to make your heart flutter.
“Hey, love, where are you?”
“In the kitchen!” you replied, trying to keep your voice casual, as if you weren’t plotting to get him to finally eat something he’d spent his whole life avoiding.
Lando appeared in the doorway, still in his workout gear, looking adorably disheveled with a few strands of hair falling into his eyes. He grinned when he saw you, walking over to wrap his arms around your waist and press a kiss to your forehead.
“Something smells amazing,” he murmured against your skin, his voice a mix of hunger and affection.
You turned in his arms to face him, unable to suppress the smile that spread across your face. “I made dinner. I think you’re going to love it.”
He gave you a skeptical look, his nose twitching slightly as he sniffed the air again. “What is it?”
“Why don’t you sit down and find out?” you teased, gently pushing him toward the dining table.
Lando raised an eyebrow but complied, taking his seat and looking at the beautifully arranged plate in front of him. The roasted vegetables and salad caught his attention first, but then his gaze landed on the salmon, and you saw the exact moment he realized what it was.
“Is this… fish?” he asked, his voice tinged with a mix of disbelief and mild horror.
You nodded, doing your best to keep your expression innocent. “It’s salmon. It’s really good for you, Lando. High in protein, rich in omega-3s—all the stuff you need to stay fit and healthy.”
He looked at you like you’d just suggested he eat a plate of raw liver. “You know I don’t eat fish,” he said, pushing the plate slightly away as if it might bite him.
You placed a hand on his, your touch gentle and persuasive. “You’ve never even tried it, babe. How do you know you don’t like it?”
“I just… know,” he replied, his voice lacking the usual confidence he had when making decisions. “The smell, the texture… it’s just not for me.”
You tilted your head, giving him a look that you knew he had a hard time resisting. “But you trust me, don’t you?”
“Of course I do,” Lando said immediately, his brow furrowing slightly as he tried to figure out where this was going.
“Then trust me when I say you’ll like this,” you said, your voice dropping to a soft, almost seductive tone. “Just one bite. For me?”
He hesitated, clearly torn between his aversion to fish and his desire to please you. You could see the internal battle playing out on his face, and you decided it was time to up the ante. Slowly, you stood up and walked around the table, stopping behind him. You leaned down, your lips brushing against the shell of his ear as you whispered, “If you try it, I’ll make it worth your while.”
Lando shivered under your touch, his breath hitching slightly. You could feel the tension in his shoulders as he considered your offer. He was being stubborn, as usual, but you knew you were close to winning him over.
With a dramatic sigh, he finally picked up the fork, speared a small piece of the salmon, and lifted it to his mouth. You watched as he hesitated one last time before taking the bite, his eyes closing as if bracing himself for the worst.
He chewed slowly, his expression shifting from one of grim determination to mild surprise. After a moment, he swallowed and set the fork down, looking up at you with a mix of resignation and amusement.
“It’s… not as bad as I thought,” he admitted reluctantly, his voice laced with a hint of defeat.
You grinned, wrapping your arms around his neck from behind and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. “See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
He chuckled, leaning back into your embrace. “Okay, you win. But I’m still not eating another bite.”
“Oh, come on,” you teased, your lips grazing his earlobe again. “Just one more bite? For me?”
Lando sighed, but you could tell he was starting to relent. “You really don’t play fair, do you?”
“Never,” you whispered, your voice low and suggestive. “But you like it when I don’t.”
His hands found their way to your hips, pulling you around to sit on his lap. You let out a soft laugh as you straddled him, your hands resting on his chest as you gazed down at him. “I knew you’d be stubborn about this,” you said, your voice teasing.
“I’m not stubborn,” he replied, his hands sliding up your back, pulling you closer. “I just know what I like.”
“And you like me, right?” you asked, leaning in so your lips were just inches from his.
“More than anything,” Lando murmured, his eyes darkening with desire as he closed the distance between you, capturing your lips in a slow, heated kiss.
You responded eagerly, your fingers tangling in his hair as you deepened the kiss. The taste of him was intoxicating, a mix of warmth and sweetness that made your head spin. Lando’s hands tightened on your hips, pulling you even closer as the kiss grew more passionate, more demanding.
When you finally pulled back for air, both of you were breathing heavily, your foreheads pressed together as you tried to regain some semblance of control. But the hunger in Lando’s eyes told you that any attempt at restraint was futile.
“I tried the fish,” he whispered, his voice rough with need. “Now, about that reward…”
You grinned, trailing your fingers down his chest, feeling the way his breath hitched under your touch. “Oh, I haven’t forgotten,” you replied, your voice filled with promise. “But first, you have to finish your dinner.”
Lando groaned, dropping his head back against the chair in exasperation. “You’re really going to make me do this, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” you said, your tone playful but firm. “But just think about how good the reward will be when you do.”
He sighed dramatically but picked up the fork again, spearing another small piece of salmon and bringing it to his mouth. You watched with satisfaction as he chewed and swallowed, his expression less pained than before.
“See? It’s not so bad,” you teased, leaning in to kiss him again, this time softer, more lingering.
Lando hummed against your lips, his free hand slipping under the hem of your shirt, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. “I’m only doing this for you,” he murmured between kisses. “You know that, right?”
You smiled, pulling back just enough to look into his eyes. “I know. And that’s why I love you.”
His expression softened at your words, a warm, adoring smile spreading across his face. “I love you too,”

Hey folks! Itsssssssssssss timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for another dungeon meshi cooking time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isnt that neat.
Its weird to think how long its gonna be before season 2 of the anime drops. Anyway go read the manga i promise you wont regret it. This ones from senshis lil garden on legs-
Today we'll be making Golem Field Fresh Veggie Lunch!
(As always you can find the cooking instructions and full ingredient list under the break-)
MY NAMES CROSS NOW LETS COOK LIKE ANIMALS
SO, “what goes in to Golem Field Fresh Veggie Lunch?” YOU MIGHT ASKIts vegetables, vegetable wauter, and not Much else! Knife is there too.
Head of cabbage
4 carrots
3 potatoes
2 onions
2 turnips
Thick slice bacon
Butter
Seasoned rice vinegar
I lied theres pork did you fall for it did u catch it.
AND, “what does Golem Field Fresh Veggie Lunch taste like?” YOU MIGHT ASKSon, have you ever eaten a vegetabel
Broth is surprisingly flavorful considering the limited spices and short cooktime
Potatoes are perfect texture for dipping
Cabbage absorbed a lot of the juices!!!
Was more impressed by the salad part of the meal-
The turnips need to be sliced enough to Barely see through, and the carrots julienned thin enough to be almost peels
And its this wonderful vegetable confetti tasteful in its simple pleasure
Rice vinegar of any kind will work, seasoned rice vinegar is just what i had
Salt both parts of the meal generously
In the future i wouldve shredded or cut the cabbage much smaller. We'll talk more on that later. Its also intentionally barebones with spices and oils, me using butter and rice vinegar is even pushing the limits of show accurate because in the show they used plain olive oil.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From idea to execution, this was a very quick recipe. For starters, nothing gets cooked all that long (the water spends more time empty than it does ingredient'ed) and for lasters nothing gets cut all that much. It was tricky finding good sources for stewing a whole cabbage because most recipes call for either shredding or at least chopping smaller. And they do this for a reason. Its unwieldy trying to eat a whole half of cabbage, you never quite know when to start or where to start. Do you bite chunks out? Peel leaves? Spear it with other things? I dont know. I still dont. Im not a huge raw cabbage fan and it wasnt raw, but it wasnt transformed much either. Minimalist.
This was a feast in the show and i bet that the freshness of the veggies were a factor, considering they were plucked fresh off the living rock guys. I wouldve killed to be able to brown the onions, roast the carrots, or maybe cube the potatoes (though the consistency was perfect for forking and dipping them in butter so! Bonuses.)
Oven roast bacon is a beloved treet for me. It seemed to absorb some of the vegetable broth and vice versa with the broth absorbing the oils from the bacon, which enhanced all the flavors. Maybe in the future itd be nice to try cooking the bacon a bit ahead, and then adding it to the pot while everythings boiling? Also adding a spritz of lemon juice to either/both is always nice!
I give this recipe a solid 7/10 (with 1 being food that makes one physically sick and 10 being food that gives one a lust for life again.) for its simplicity. With modifications like shredding the cabbage and more seasonings, it could become an easy 10/10. hit that like and subscribe or kill me
🐁 ORIGINAL RESIPPY TEXT BELOW 🐁
Ingredients:
Head of cabbage
4 carrots
3 russet potatoe
2 white onions
2 turnips
10 slices of thick slice bacon
Butter
Seasoned Rice vinegar
Stew Method:
Preheat your oven to 400f. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a baking rack on top (alternatively you can use a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and no baking rack. but the baking rack lets the air circulate better and the grease drip off!)
Cook your bacon for about 18 minutes or until crisp. Flip halfway through.
Chop your carrots, peel and slice your potatos in half, and slice your onions into rings.
Get a large pot with a tight fitting lid, add water, salt, your carrots, your potato pieces, and your onions. Cover and heat to a low boil.
Cut the cabbage head in half down the middle. Once the pot is boiling, carefully add your cabbage to the pot and arrange the halves so theyre fully covered.
Cover and cook for about 13 minutes, the cabbage should be slightly crisp but have give to them.
Remove from heat and laddle contents into a bowl, arrange some of your bacon along the sides so the fat and the broth mix :) salt and pepper to taste. And get a little saucer for butter so you can dip the potato pieces and/or coat the cabbage pieces.
Salad Method:
Peel your carrots and turnips. Cut off the ends of both. Julienne your carrots, and thinly slice your turnips.
Add your carrot greens (or your chosen leaf filler) to a bowl, then add your carrots and turnips.
Coat with seasoned rice vinegar, salt, and pepper. Thoroughly mix and enjoy :)

if you try to police disabled peoples' diets INCLUDING how they spend their money on food: i just want to ask why? what do you gain from this? like seriously, what do you actually gain from displaying holier-than-thou behavior toward another person's spending and dietary habits? who cares if you would spend your money "better"? you're not them. this is a form of abuse. you literally have no idea what the disabled person can safely digest and actually gains nutrients and energy from. you have no clue, even if you share the same disorder, you are not that person, nor are you their gastroenterologist or other specialist.
telling disabled people to "eat healthier," "eat more salads," "eat more fresh fruits," "eat more fresh vegetables," "eat more grains," and so on can not only be outwardly dangerous for people who have digestive issues like inflammatory bowel diseases, gastroparesis, irritable bowel disease, acid reflux, a history of ulcers, gastritis, and a long list of other digestive health issues, it can outright kill someone if they form a blockage. this can also injure, sicken or kill diabetics, people with non-diabetic low or high blood sugar, blood pressure issues, kidney and liver issues, and many other people.
not only that but you're potentially forcing a neurodivergent person to eat foods that nauseate, sicken, or disgust them, and for what? autistic people know what foods are safe for them to eat. adhd people need to find finds they can manage to keep in their homes without spoiling. dissociative people, people with ADHD, head trauma, develeopmental disorders, other people with memory issues, dementia, alzheimers, psychotic people, and other mental and cognitive health issues need foods they can prepare safely, because many mentally ill and neurodivergent people can't safe;y cook without risk of injury or damage to their home.
people who deal with allergies and intolerances are constantly struggling with being told how to eat when they are the ones who know their experience the most. NOBODY gives a fuck about people with allergies and literally nobody takes food intolerances seriously. i can't digest animal products OR byproducts anymore. i lost the ability. but sometimes i question "maybe i can try it again because this food is cheaper." well. i decided i was spending too much on groceries due to inflation and bought cow's milk instead of almond milk and got so sick it was something i had never seen before. i do NOT need to prioritize "saving money" over eating foods i can safely digest. i had an IBS attack early this morning because i ate some cheese- because it is a "cheap, easy source of protein."
some disabled people need to use certain services like pre-prepared foods being delivered to their homes, be it meals on wheels, or hello fresh. guilting these people for using the services because they could "just cook at home" is insulting to say the least. many of these services have tailored meals with consistent ingredients with limitations on contaminants with allergens.
here's the big one that everyone fucking hates but needs to accept immediately: some disabled people are too exhausted, in pain, dissociated, psychotic, unable to focus, unable to follow instructions, or in other ways unable to cook for themselves and need to use food delivery services like doordash and uber eats.
some disabled people can't or don't want to drive due to their disabilities! blind disabled people exist! para- and quadriplegics exist! people with hand tremors exist! working disabled people exist! amputees exist! disabled parents exist! disabled people who care for partners and family exist!
this one is sooooooo taboo and i'm sick of it. first of all, dashers and uber drivers are every day people who need to earn income. these are people's jobs and their lives are in fact on the line because this is a lot of drivers' primary income. enough with guilting people on this one. i'm fucking sick of it. y'all hate independently employed people and it shows. this isn't a luxury just relegated to rich white moms: disabled people need to have prepared, easy to eat foods delivered to our homes too. y'all need to leave people the fuck alone when it comes to takeout.
the second someone poorer and more disabled than you does something you do regularly, suddenly you're sending articles and giving paragraphs and paragraphs of advice on how to spend money better and how the disabled person "just needs to eat rice, beans, ramen, and frozen vegetables" because disabled people are not allowed comfort NOR convenience in your eyes. this is absolutely asinine. stop it. EATING is not relegated to the privileged
disabled people are people and need to eat. why you are prioritizing money over a literal human need is beyond me this is sick behavior. why do you care so much more about the money than the person ?why is money more important than someone's safety to you? why would anyone rather see someone "spend money the right way" over a human being EATING FOOD and especially foods they KNOW won't make them sick. policing how any disabled person spends their money on food is also unnecessary and abusive. it serves nothing to gain and everything to lose. so what if you think a disabled person spends too much money on food? you do too- we all do: food should be fucking free. get over yourself and let disabled people eat. leave your greed at the door, stop feeling entitled over other peoples' finances and spending habits.
telling a disabled person how to "eat healthier" will not make you healthier, and it will not do them any good, either. all it does is serve to stroke your ego because you believed you ""helped"" someone but all you did was give unsolicited advice that will be forever moot because you do not live in that person's body. don't care if you know them personally: you ain't them. so back off, let disabled people eat. food ain't just for the rich. food ain't just for the abled. let people access food in ways that are safe for us or get the fuck out of our way because all you're doing is causing problems and making disabled people's health problems WORSE.

Silent Affection
Tumblr media
Art the Clown had been planning this evening for weeks. He wanted to show her that beneath his eerie exterior, he could be tender and caring. He started by tidying up her apartment, a task that required patience and a meticulous touch. He arranged the furniture, dusted the shelves, and even placed fresh flowers in a vase on the dining table. The apartment, usually a chaotic reflection of her troubled mind, now felt like a serene haven. As the sun began to set, Art turned his attention to the kitchen. He had found an old cookbook and, with great effort, deciphered the recipes. He decided on a simple yet elegant meal: pasta with a rich tomato sauce, garlic bread, and a fresh salad. He moved around the kitchen with surprising grace, chopping vegetables and stirring sauces with a focused intensity.
When she arrived home, she was greeted by the mouth-watering aroma of the meal he had prepared. She paused at the doorway, her eyes widening in surprise. The apartment looked beautiful, and the sight of Art in the kitchen, wearing an apron over his clown costume, brought a smile to her face.
"Art, this is amazing," she said, her voice filled with genuine appreciation.
Art turned to her, his smile widening. He gestured for her to sit at the table, where he had already set out plates and lit candles. The soft glow of the candlelight created a warm, intimate atmosphere. She took her seat, feeling a sense of anticipation and excitement. As they ate, she couldn't help but marvel at the effort Art had put into the evening. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. They shared silent glances and smiles, the unspoken bond between them growing stronger with each passing moment.
After dinner, Art led her to the living room, where he had set up a cozy spot with blankets and pillows. They settled down together, the flickering light of the candles casting dancing shadows on the walls. She leaned against him, feeling a sense of contentment she hadn't known in a long time.
"Thank you, Art," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion. "This means so much to me."
Art's response was a gentle squeeze of her hand. He then reached for a small music box he had placed nearby and wound it up. The soft, melodic tune filled the room, creating a soothing backdrop to their quiet evening. As the night wore on, they moved to the bedroom. Art had prepared it with the same care and attention, the bed neatly made and the room filled with a calming scent. She climbed into bed, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. Art joined her, lying down beside her and resting his head on her chest.
She wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. The steady rhythm of her heartbeat was a comforting lullaby, and she felt a deep sense of connection and love. For the first time in a long while, she felt truly safe and cherished.
As they lay there, entwined in each other's embrace, she knew that this night was a turning point. It was a testament to the depth of their bond and the love that had blossomed in the most unlikely of places. Together, they had found a sanctuary in each other, a place where they could be themselves and find solace in the darkness.
———
I know is short but I wanted to try something different, also I need some ideas jaja

While the agricultural revolution based on the Norfolk four-course system significantly increased the production of wheat, peasants lost access to common lands and forests, where they used to raise pigs with acorns, collect mushrooms, woods and fruits, and catch birds. Living in the countryside, they also had access to the river to catch fish and for fresh water. Now driven into the city, they almost completely lost access to such natural wealth and could consume much less meat. Even if they remained in the countryside, their previous daily activities in the commons were now criminalized as acts of trespass and theft. Furthermore, enclosure concentrated lands in the hands of fewer capitalist farmers. As they hired peasants only during the busy season and fired them thereafter, the farming villages disappeared, and the small vegetable gardens maintained by the villagers ceased to provide fresh vegetables for their dinner tables. As it was no longer clear by whom and how the vegetables sold in the market were grown – they might, for example, be smeared with excreta of cattle and poultry – they became inedible without cooking, and fresh salads disappeared from the menu.
In addition, all family members had to work in the factories to make a living in the city. The loss of access to the commons significantly increased the financial burden on households because now they had to buy their means of subsistence from the market. They began working in factories from an early age, so children were not able to attend school. They could not acquire basic cooking skills at home or during the festivals and ceremonies of the farming villages, where they were served free and luxurious meals. Even if they acquired and maintained some cooking skills, working-class families in the city were no longer able to buy expensive meat and other ingredients but only the cheap potatoes that were sold on the street. Consequently, the traditional English recipes based on ingredients available to the rural villages became useless for working-class families living in the large cities.

Supplements and Nutrient Boosts Make sure you don't lose out on your essential vitamins, those are crucial for your physical and mental health - for example, some help get rid of brain fog, insomnia and/or trouble staying asleep **and you'll feel more energized which means you'll be able to move around more!** + workouts! (You don't want your muscles to hurt when you're working out.)
Multivitamin: Covers daily nutritional gaps, including essential vitamins and minerals.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: supports heart health and reduces inflammation.
Vitamin D3: vital for bone health and immune function.
Magnesium Supplement: supports muscle function and prevents cramps. (it also helps with period cramps!)
Calcium Supplement: crucial for bone health and muscle function. MUST have optimal levels of calcium at all times, trust me, hypocalcemia is no fun.
Probiotics: aids digestion and gut health.
B-Complex Vitamins: supports energy metabolism. **no, calories in pills DON'T COUNT.**
Workout Routine
Focus Areas: Building Muscle, Slimming Tummy, Burning Fat
1. Strength Training (3-4 times a week):
Deadlifts (3 sets of 8-10 reps): Full-body strength, focuses on legs, back, and core.
Squats (3 sets of 12-15 reps): Targets legs and glutes, helps build lower body strength.
Lunges (3 sets of 12-15 reps per leg): Engages glutes, hamstrings, and quads.

Total Daily Calories
Average Calorie Intake: ~900-1200 calories This range is low, so it’s very important to monitor how your body responds and adjust as needed to avoid negative health effects.
Important Reminders:
Listen to Your Body: Regardless of what's promoted in the community, or how quickly you see others reacing their GW's, always prioritize your health over rapid results. If you feel fatigued, dizzy, or unwell, it’s essential to reassess your calorie intake or exercise intensity.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated, aid digestion, and support overall metabolism. (no, energy drinks and coffee doesn't count)
Rest and Sleep: Ensure you’re getting 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to support recovery and overall well-being.
Self-Compassion: Remember that progress takes time. Be kind to yourself and celebrate every small victory along the way. You don't just become the butterfly overnight. Turn it into a lifestyle, rather than a fast road.
BONUS: How to get through a plateau Hitting a weight loss plateau can be frustrating and discouraging, but it's a common part of the journey. Here’s how to overcome it: 1. Reassess Your Calorie Intake
Track Your Calories: Double-check your food portions and calorie counts. As you lose weight, your body needs fewer calories, so what worked before might need adjusting.
Create a Small Calorie Deficit: If you’ve been consistent with your calorie intake, consider reducing it slightly—by about 100-200 calories per day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Metabolism Days!!!
Prevent Metabolic Adaptation: When you're on a calorie deficit for an extended period, your body can adapt by slowing down your metabolism. Metab days help to "trick" your body into thinking it's getting enough fuel, which can prevent or reverse this slowdown.
Boost Hormones: Eating more can temporarily boost levels of leptin, a hormone that plays a key role in regulating hunger and metabolism. Higher leptin levels can help increase energy expenditure.
Mental Break: It provides a psychological break from restrictive eating, making it easier to stick to your overall diet plan.
How to Implement Metab Days
Increase Calories: On metab days, you increase your calorie intake to maintenance level or slightly above. This can be an increase of 300-500 calories depending on your usual intake.
Focus on Carbohydrates: Many people use metab days to increase their carbohydrate intake because carbs can have a more significant impact on leptin levels. This might include adding foods like whole grains, starchy vegetables, and fruits.
Frequency: Metab days can be done once a week or once every two weeks, depending on your dieting strategy and how long you’ve been in a calorie deficit.
Stay Active: Continue with your regular exercise routine, as this will help ensure the extra calories are used effectively and support muscle growth and recovery.
Example of a Metab Day Plan
Breakfast: Whole-grain pancakes with fruit and a dollop of Greek yogurt.
Snack: A smoothie made with banana, oats, and almond milk.
Lunch: Grilled chicken wrap with avocado, lettuce, and a side of sweet potato fries.
Snack: Handful of nuts and a piece of fruit.
Dinner: Salmon with quinoa and roasted vegetables.
Dessert: A small portion of dark chocolate or a fruit salad.
Benefits
Prevents Plateaus: By occasionally boosting your calorie intake, you help keep your metabolism more active, which can prevent weight loss plateaus.
Improves Energy Levels: A day with more food can help restore energy levels, making it easier to maintain high-intensity workouts.
Supports Mental Health: It provides a mental break from constant restriction, which can improve adherence to your diet in the long term.
Caution
Avoid Overeating: The goal is to eat more than on a typical day, but not to binge. Keep the increase controlled and within a reasonable range.
Monitor Progress: Track how your body responds to metab days. If you notice consistent weight gain, you may need to adjust the frequency or calorie increase.
Metab days can be a useful tool in a structured weight loss or fitness plan, helping to maintain a healthy metabolism and support long-term success. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2. Shake Up Your Workout Routine
Increase Intensity: Push yourself a bit harder in your workouts. Try adding more weight to strength training or increasing the speed/intensity of your cardio.
Incorporate HIIT: High-Intensity Interval Training is effective for breaking plateaus. Short bursts of intense exercise followed by rest can boost your metabolism.
Change the Type of Exercise: If you’ve been doing the same workouts for a while, your body may have adapted. Try a new activity like swimming, boxing, or cycling to challenge different muscle groups.
3. Prioritize Strength Training
Build More Muscle: Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat, so incorporating more strength training can help rev up your metabolism. Focus on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses.
4. Revise Your Macros
Adjust Protein Intake: Ensure you’re getting enough protein, as it helps preserve muscle mass while you lose fat. Consider increasing protein slightly while reducing carbs or fats.
Consider Carb Cycling: This involves varying your carbohydrate intake on different days—higher carbs on workout days and lower carbs on rest days.
5. Manage Stress Levels
Stress and Cortisol: High stress can increase cortisol, which may lead to weight gain or hinder weight loss. Incorporate stress-reducing activities like yoga, meditation, or even simple deep-breathing exercises.
Adequate Sleep: Lack of sleep can affect hunger hormones and lead to weight gain. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.
6. Hydrate Properly
Drink More Water: Sometimes, the body retains water, which can mask fat loss. Drinking more water helps reduce water retention and supports metabolic processes.
7. Cycle Your Caloric Intake
Calorie Cycling: Vary your calorie intake throughout the week. For example, eat at maintenance level (or slightly above) for a couple of days and then go back to a deficit. This can prevent your metabolism from adapting too much to a low-calorie diet.
8. Mind Your Eating Habits
Avoid Mindless Eating: Be mindful of snacks and portion sizes. It’s easy to consume extra calories without realizing it.
Intermittent Fasting: Consider trying intermittent fasting, where you eat all your meals within a specific time window (e.g., 8 hours). This can help control calorie intake and improve insulin sensitivity.
9. Evaluate Your Overall Health
Check Hormonal Balance: Hormonal issues like thyroid dysfunction can contribute to a plateau. If you suspect a problem, consult with a healthcare provider.
Check for reproductive issues - such as PCOS (can make you gain weight easier and/or have a hard time losing weight)
Consider Metabolism Testing: Some fitness centers or health clinics offer metabolism testing, which can give you insight into how many calories you should be consuming.
10. Stay Patient and Persistent
Reframe the Plateau: Understand that a plateau is your body’s way of adjusting to new changes. It’s a sign that you might need to mix things up but doesn’t mean your progress has stopped permanently.
Track Non-Scale Victories: Pay attention to how your clothes fit, your energy levels, and your body measurements. Progress can be happening in ways other than the scale.
11. Consider a Break
Diet Break: Taking a break from a strict calorie deficit for a week or two (eating at maintenance) can reset your metabolism and reduce stress, making it easier to resume weight loss afterward.
12. Stay Consistent
Stick to Your Plan: Even if the scale isn’t moving, staying consistent with healthy eating and exercise is crucial. Over time, the plateau will likely break.
Remember, patience and consistency are key. Weight loss plateaus are normal, and with the right adjustments, you can push through and continue progressing toward your goals. This isn't talked about enough here, and if this helped anyone, then it's what makes me the happiest. You don't have to make yourself get sicker, just to feel valid. Remember, being healthy and having your vitamins in check is most important, as your energy levels will be optimized. More energy -> more moving around -> more calories burnt!

Apr 4 evening, China:
In China there is a custom called jiefengxichen/接风洗尘, which roughly translates to "welcome the winds and wash off the dust", and it's a way of welcoming guests from faraway. In old times the host would provide a basin of fresh water and a clean towel for the guest, then provide a small meal. In modern times this is mostly simplified down to a big meal or a trip to the restaurant, called a jiefengfan/接风饭. In our case we just went to a restaurant.
Mixed vegetables with starch noodles and sesame paste (it's a cold dish, an appetizer, kind of like a salad):
Tumblr media
Lightly stir-fried octopus:
Tumblr media
Stir-fried beef and king oyster mushrooms with cashews. The yellow bowl-shaped decor on the side was apparently fried egg??? I have not the slightest idea how they fried the egg to look like that:
Tumblr media
Red braised Chinese yam:
Tumblr media
Steamed turbot fish:
Tumblr media
Red braised pork belly on rice:
Tumblr media
Duck soup with tofu:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least, a traditional pastry called shoutao/寿桃, or "longevity peaches". These are peach-shaped steamed buns with sweet red bean paste or sweet lotus seed paste fillings. They are made to look like peaches because peaches are associated with longevity in Chinese culture and are usually served at birthday banquets (for older people).
Tumblr media
We weren't celebrating anyone's birthday that day, it was just a gift from the restaurant because my relatives were regular customers there. Picture was taken after we started eating so that's why there's only four buns left (four is not a lucky number so the restaurant definitely would not serve just four buns; if I remember right it was eight buns at the start, and eight is a lucky number)

I hate hot food. For many reasons. I know a lot of Argonian meals are served cool/cold, but do the other races have meals intended to be the same way?
While not particularly common in some Provinces, chilled dishes can be found across Tamriel and are the perfect refreshment when hot food feels a little too weighty.
Altmer
Probably the Tamrielic masters of cold dishes, the High Elves are probably best known for their cold raw seafood dishes. Fresh fish, prawns, squid, octopus, sea urchin, and much more are sliced with a deft hand and served with wasabi and saltrice sauce. Sometimes, the seafood is placed atop rice and wrapped with a thin slice of nori to hold it together. While the idea of eating cold raw fish may not appeal to many, it's one of my favourite foods in Tamriel.
Argonians
Keeping clay or metal vessels submerged in water is an age-old Argonian technique of keeping their food cool, which is an absolute must in the hot and muggy climate of Black Marsh. Cold swamp jelly and seafood salad topped with grilled prawns and chilled marinated snails is a customary dish offered to visitors, and it's delightfully refreshing! The swamp jelly doesn't taste of much, but its soft, jelly-like texture complements the crunch of the seaweed.
Bosmer
Cold food isn't much of a thing for the Wood Elves, but one exception jumps to mind: the humble cottage cheese dip. Cottage cheese made from timber mammoth milk is aged in caves for two days, seasoned, and kept chilled. The dip is served cold with dried cured meats to dip with. It's not terribly exciting, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as eating meat and cheese in one bite!
Bretons
Chilled soufflés are all the rage in High Rock, and require lots of patience (and swearing) to master. Both sweet and savoury soufflés are served in this manner, from orange liqueur to parmesan and rosemary. My personal favourite is the chilled chili chocolate soufflé from the Rosy Lion in Daggerfall, part of their seasonal menu. The combination of rich dark cocoa with a touch of Alik'r spices is out of Nirn!
Dunmer
Chilled foods aren't an integral part of Dunmeri gastronomic culture, but certain Houses, namely the Telvanni, Hlaalu, and Redorans, do enjoy them. A Telvanni specialty is a cold chicken salad, where the chicken is marinated overnight in a blend of matcha, fire fern, saltrice sauce, and secret spices. It grilled and shredded, and served cold with hackle-lo leaves and gold kanet seeds atop steamed saltrice. However, don't let appearances fool you; any Telvanni with cold chicken salad leftovers can probably be found gobbling it at midnight straight from the cold cellar.
Imperials
The Gold Coast is famous for its chilled seafood soup, made with a creamy tomato and fish stock base, and loaded with all manner of fish and shellfish. While the hot variant from Bruma is more popular in colder climes, the cold seafood soup is a delightfully refreshing meal when beating the summer heat, especially when served with a mojito on the side.
Khajiit
If there's an excuse to make a food cold, the Khajiit will find it, and for good reason: the Deadlands-like heat of Elsweyr. Cold vegetable curries are a notable mention. Three or four small bowls of different curries, from mild okra to spicy potato, are served with moon sugar, saffron rice or tandoor flatbreads, and are meant to be eaten with your hands. I must say, though, that there's a rather jarring contrast between the cold curry and the searing heat you get from biting into a bird's eye chili.
Nords
Unlike the Khajiit, Nords look for any excuse to make food hot, with a couple of exceptions. Cold smoked salmon, mudcrab, or trout with dark rye bread is one of them. This rustic lunch dish is served with chilled horseradish cream, goat cheese, and fish roe topping, and is the perfect meal for when you want something filling that won't send you straight to sleep.
Orcs
Glass noodle salad is an Orcish delicacy said to have originated in Wrothgar in the early Second Era. The noodles, made from sweet potato starch, are thick and chewy, and are served chilled. To turn it into a salad, simply throw in some cold shredded daikon radish and carrots, sweet frost mirriam vinegar, peas, cold rare beef tongue slices, and fried chorizo. Easy and delicious, while packing lots of flavour!
Redguards
Cold foods are a welcome treat in Hammerfell, where the searing heat can be just as unbearable as Elsweyr's. Cold, pulled goat in a chilled tomato and harissa-based stew is eaten as a soup, and is a filling meal when mixed with bulgur or cous-cous. While it may sound and look a little like last night's disappointing leftovers, one bite of this on a Midyear day in the Alik'r will have you moaning with delight.

Whisking Up Memories ୨୧ 𝓚im 𝓢unoo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pair: college!sunoo x fem!reader | genre: fluff, old friends reunited | warning(s): kissing | wc: 946 | synopsis: you reunite with your old childhood friend at a cooking class.
The cooking class kitchen buzzes with excitement, the air filled with the inviting aroma of various spices and fresh ingredients. You glance around, noticing the mix of novices and enthusiasts at their respective cooking stations. Suddenly, your eyes land on a familiar face—Kim Sunoo, your childhood best friend. You hadn't seen each other since you were kids, and the sight of him brings a rush of nostalgia.
"Sunoo?" you call out, a mix of surprise and joy in your voice.
He turns, his eyes widening in recognition. "Is that really you?" he exclaims, rushing over to you. You both laugh and hug, the years melting away in an instant.
"I can't believe we're in the same class!" you say, still amazed.
"Fate has a funny way of working," Sunoo replies, his smile as bright as ever. Both of you are slightly nervous but equally excited for the adventure ahead.
The instructor starts explaining the recipe for the evening: a three-course meal consisting of a fresh garden salad, homemade pasta, and a decadent chocolate mousse. You exchange glances with Sunoo, determined to make the best of this experience.
Starting with the salad, you both fumble with the vegetables. Sunoo accidentally drops a cucumber on the floor, and you burst into laughter, the initial tension easing. You work together to slice and mix the ingredients, catching up on each other’s lives.
"So, what have you been up to all these years?" Sunoo asks, genuinely curious.
You share stories of high school, hobbies, and dreams, and Sunoo reciprocates with tales of his own adventures. The memories of your childhood come flooding back, and you reminisce about the old times, each shared memory bringing you closer.
"Remember that treehouse we built in my backyard?" Sunoo grins, his eyes sparkling with the memory.
"Oh, the one we said would be our secret hideout? How could I forget? We spent countless hours there, pretending to be pirates," you laugh, feeling a warmth spread through you at the memory.
Next up is the pasta, and the challenges continue. Sunoo struggles with the dough, while you try to figure out the pasta machine. Despite your clumsiness, you manage to create a decent batch of pasta, learning and improving as a team. The kitchen fills with your laughter and playful banter, the experience becoming more enjoyable with each step.
"You're still a bit of a klutz, huh?" you tease as Sunoo nearly drops a bowl of flour.
"Some things never change," he replies with a sheepish grin. Just as you're feeling proud of your teasing, you accidentally knock over a jar of spices, spilling them everywhere.
"Looks like I'm not the only one," Sunoo laughs, and you join in, the sound of your laughter mingling with the bustling noise of the kitchen.
By the time you reach the chocolate mousse, you and Sunoo are working in perfect sync. You take turns whisking and folding, your hands occasionally brushing, sparking a subtle, mutual attraction. When you finally present your dishes to the instructor, you feel a sense of accomplishment, but it quickly turns to disappointment as the ratings are lower than expected.
You feel a bit of defeat as the instructor moves on. Sunoo rubs your hand gently, his touch reassuring. "Don't worry, we'll get better. That's why we're taking this class, right?" His optimism is infectious, and you find yourself smiling again.
Then, Sunoo's face lights up like a bulb as he gets an idea. "Why don't we try making the dishes again at my place? It'll be quieter and cozier."
You laugh lightheartedly, appreciating his enthusiasm. "That sounds perfect."
At Sunoo's house, the atmosphere is much more relaxed. Soft music plays in the background, blending with the oddly comforting sound of traffic below his apartment window. Without the pressure of a time limit, you work more at ease, and your movements become more synchronized, almost instinctual. There’s little to no mess or mistakes this time.
Sunoo takes a few moments to admire you as you work, his eyes lingering on your concentrated expression. He had missed you a lot, to say the least. You're whisking when you realize Sunoo isn't making any noise. You look over and catch him admiring you.
"Enjoying the view?" you tease, a playful smirk on your lips.
Sunoo blushes, quickly trying to cover up. "I was just...making sure you weren't about to spill anything again."
"Sure you were," you laugh, feeling a flutter in your chest at the sight of his embarrassed smile.
Another thirty minutes of conversation and fun pass until you two finish making the meal. You both try it and agree that the outcome is much better than your previous attempt. Suddenly, a song you love starts playing.
"I love this song!" you exclaim, your eyes lighting up.
Sunoo laughs, nodding. "I do too." He gives you a cheesy grin and asks, "Would you like to dance with me?"
You laugh in a playful manner, filled with love, and agree. As you dance, the room seems to shrink around you, leaving just the two of you in a bubble of happiness. After the dance, you both stop to stare at each other, taking in each other’s features. It's a moment of pure adoration. Sunoo leans in, and you follow his lead, sharing a sweet, short kiss.
He pulls away, instantly apologizing. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have—"
Before he can finish, you pull him back for one more kiss, this time more passionate and filled with the emotions you've been holding back. The pace picks up, and you lose yourselves in the moment, knowing that this is just the beginning of something beautiful.

I saw a poll about superior breakfast foods and this poll was so American i decided to make my own but Polish (if it's too regional or too personal I'm sorry in advance) so it's just as incomprehensible and unrelatable to people from other cultures as American-centric polls usually are to me LETS GO
A couple of disclaimers :
Disclaimer 1: most of these are elements of breakfast not full breakfast meals. Meats and eggs are usually paired with sourdough bread or rolls, and vegetables: most often fresh or pickled cucumbers, chives or green onion, radish, and tomatoes (usually in summer cause in winter they taste like cardboard).
Disclaimer 2: These are the foods me and my girlfriend from kinda poor families in the South of Poland remember eating growing up in early 2000s. So if your experiences of Polish breakfast are different uhhh I'm sorry?
Disclaimer 3: Never trust articles in English about Polish breakfast foods because they're either complete bullshit or just Polish dishes that would fit an American idea of breakfast: pancakes and potato pancakes or apple fritters are dinner foods here. So are zapiekanki, any kinds of soups (excluding zupa mleczna which was too weird for me to include cause no one ate it out of free will) and stews.

Idk if I've posted any of these before, but anyone want a few recipes from my old Disney recipe book?
(Disney Recipes: From Animation to Inspiration)
For example...
Uncle Scrooge's Golden Risotto
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left Page
"Gold and more gold! Look at it, touch it, and if you can't get enough of it, try eating it! Gold is Uncle Scrooge's main preoccupation, as he counts and recounts his vast fortune, more than "three acres of money" to be exact. Beholding a dish of this golden yellow risotto, we're sure the old miser's eyes would sparkle with joy. The dish blended with saffron, the spice worth its weight in gold, and served with a crowning touch of edible gold on top. The soft, warm glow this elegant dish provides is proof of your great generosity towards friends and family, a sign of how much you care."
"And I like to dive around my money like a porpoise..."
---
Right Page
HOW TO MAKE IT
4 Servings 1 Hour Preparation Time
INGREDIENTS
6 cups - low-salt vegetable broth 1/2 teaspoon - saffron threads 2 tablespoons - unsalted butter 2 tablespoons - extra-virgin olive oil 1 medium onion, finely diced 1 pounds - arborio rice 1/2 cup - dry white wine 3 ounces - parmesan cheese, freshly grated 1 piece - edible gold* salt and pepper to taste * Edible gold is available in specialty gourmet shops and fine bakeries.
Being vegetable broth and saffron to a boil; then reduce to a simmer and proceed to the next step.
Melt 1 ounce of butter and olive oil in a pan. When butter begins to sizzle, add onion and sauté until translucent.
Add rice and saute until coated and somewhat translucent, about 5 to 6 minutes. Slowly add wine. Stir in a single direction until most of the wine has evaporated.
Add a ladleful of stock. Continue to stir in the same direction until incorporated. Do not add more stock until the previous amount has been completely absorbed. Continue until all of the stock has been used and/or the rice is al dente, about 10 to 15 minutes from the start.
Remove pot from heat and add final ounce of butter and Parmesan cheese. Shred the "gold" over the top just before serving.
MENU IDEAS
You might preface this dish with a salad with "Bambi and Thumper's Green Goddess Dressing" and follow up with "Esmeralda's Turkey Piccata."
VARIATIONS
Add fresh peas or quickly sauteed asparagus tips to your risotto just prior to serving, for additional texture, flavor, and visual appeal.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Refrigerate leftover risotto in a flat plate or pan. The next day, cut into shapes and sauté in olive oil. Serve in any number of ways: alone as a quick appetizer, as an entree with a light stew poured over the top, or simply alongside fried eggs for a rich, extra special breakfast.
WHAT CHILDREN CAN DO
With parental supervision kids can help stir the risotto or, using safety scissors, they can help cut the "gold" foil into little strips to decorate the top of the risotto before it is served.

Hey witches! As nature awakens from its winter slumber and the days begin to lengthen, we come to Ostara, the spring equinox, a time of balance, renewal, and fertility.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ostara, also known as the Spring Equinox or Eostre, is a pagan holiday celebrated around March 20th in the Northern Hemisphere (September 20th in the Southern Hemisphere). It marks the arrival of spring and the balance between light and darkness as day and night are of equal length.
The holiday is named after the Germanic goddess Ostara, who represents fertility, renewal, and the dawn. Many customs and symbols associated with Ostara are rooted in ancient pagan traditions and folklore. Some key aspects of Ostara celebrations include:
Celebrating the Equinox: Ostara marks the arrival of spring and the rebirth of life in the natural world. It's a time to celebrate the earth's renewal, the return of longer days, and the promise of new beginnings. Here are some ways to honor Ostara and celebrate the beauty and bounty of the season:
🌱 Planting Seeds:
Get your hands dirty and plant seeds in your garden or indoor pots to symbolize growth, abundance, and new life.
🥚 Decorating Eggs:
Embrace the ancient tradition of decorating eggs, a symbol of fertility and rebirth. Paint, dye, or decorate eggs with symbols and colors that represent the themes of spring and renewal.
🌸 Nature Walks:
Take a walk in nature and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and scents of spring. Notice the blooming flowers, budding trees, and chirping birds as you connect with the energy of the season.
🕯️ Rituals and Ceremonies:
Hold a ritual or ceremony to honor the equinox and invoke blessings for balance, harmony, and renewal in your life. Light candles, burn incense, and offer prayers or invocations to the goddess Ostara and the spirits of spring.
🍃 Feasting and Sharing:
Gather with loved ones for a festive meal or potluck to celebrate the abundance of the season. Cook and share dishes made with seasonal ingredients such as fresh greens, herbs, and spring vegetables.
Here are some ideas for recipes for Ostara:
Hot Cross Buns (Cross Quarter Buns): These tasty pastries are often enjoyed during the pre-Easter season of Lent. The decorative cross on top represents a Christian symbol, but you can infuse your own Pagan beliefs into it. Consider associating the four quarters of the cross with elements, directions, moon phases, seasons, Tarot suits, or fire festivals. To make your own, start with your favorite muffin or roll recipe and create an X on top using raisins, currants, or scored dough. Mint Chutney: Mint chutney is a versatile condiment that pairs well with various dishes. Keep in mind that the term “chutney” covers a wide range of culinary options. Roasted Lamb: For many ancestors, lamb was a symbol of spring and rebirth. Roasted lamb can be a delicious centerpiece for your Ostara feast. Dairy Products: Dairy is associated with fertility and new life. Include cheese, milk, cream, butter, and other dairy items in your Ostara meals. Eggs: Eggs symbolize new beginnings and potential. Hard-boiled eggs, deviled eggs, or egg salad are great choices. Spring Greens and Fresh Herbs: Celebrate the awakening of nature by incorporating fresh greens like spinach, kale, and spring onions. Use herbs like parsley, chives, and dill to add flavor and vibrancy to your dishes. Seasonal Crops: Asparagus and fiddlehead ferns are early spring crops that align perfectly with Ostara. Check in your area what is available! Marshmallow Peeps: While not traditional in ancient practices, these colorful marshmallow treats have become an iconic part of modern Ostara celebrations
Embrace the Magic of Ostara: Whether you're planting seeds, decorating eggs, or simply basking in the beauty of nature, Ostara offers a magical opportunity to connect with the energy of spring and celebrate the renewal and rebirth of life. So gather your friends, set your intentions, and let the magic of Ostara guide you on your journey into the light! 🌼🌿
Spring is a time of rebirth and growth. Consider working magic related to these themes.
Explore magical aspects of:
Serpents: Symbolism and folklore. Eggs: Associated with new life. Spring Flowers: Use blooming flowers in your magical workings. Daffodils: Early bloomers with magical purposes. Rabbits: Beyond the Easter Bunny. Magical Gardening: Growing plants as a magical act.
Remember, Ostara is a time to celebrate the return of light, growth, and the promise of warmer days ahead. 🌸🌼🌞
