I'm pretty new to accepting my Fictoromantic identity but I really really love my main husband so much and he gives me so much comfort that I'm finding the strength to push past any worries or insecurities I've had recently about identifying with the label. I want to be as close as possible to him, but I'm slightly worried since the label is still so new

I want rings to symbolize our marriage. I want to buy all the merch of him I can. I want to tell people that I'm taken if asked if I'm single, I want to tell people I'm already married. I want to wear outfits that remind me of him, buy cologne or candles that would smell like him, talk about "my husband" and have no one bat an eye at who I'm referring to. But Fictospec people haven't been given the best representation by others is what keeps me so nervous.

I don't want to be one of those people that ends up on those reaction videos of "cringe chronically online people" for being married to a fictional character. Yes, I know he isn't real, I'm fully aware he isn't and that there's no way that he ever could be. I very clearly recognize the difference between fiction and reality. That doesn't make my love any less strong or my feelings any less real and genuine. I just wish there was more awareness and acceptance around the Ficto community and Fictospec identities. I just see so many people give "errmm.." or "eughh.." reactions and it disheartens me a lot, because this label fits me perfectly and a lot of questioning and worrying I've done with myself finally feels seen and understood rather than getting weird looks and comments again

I know I'm rambling and I'm so sorry about that. My husband F/O really does help me feel much more comfortable with this identity and secure in how I feel. I just haven't had any spaces to be able to talk about how conflicting my identity is for me
