I wonder if Tairn ever suspected something was wrong - if he ever realised Sgaeyl was hiding something from him. If he ever noticed that little corner of her mind she kept firmly closed, where Xaden's lineage and second signet were kept secured. Maybe that's why he was so cranky and snappy at times during IF - he was hoping it wasn't true, that his suspicions were wrong, that it was only his imagination.

I wonder how many times Sgaeyl wanted to tell him, and how awful she felt when she couldn't. She is cutting and merciless, but it speaks volumes about her devotion to Xaden if she was willing to do something so taboo as keep secrets from her mate. How frightened she must've been that she felt the information wasn't safe - that Xaden wasn't safe - even with Tairn. Secrets have weight, and it must've been a heavy burden to carry for those years at Basgiath.

The fact that Violet got fucked (literally), betrayed by her boyfriend, heartbroken over losing her friend, betrayed by her dragons, hurt AND poisoned all in the same day is wild. You guys complain she’s “annoying” but I think she’s not half as annoying as she could have been. Matter of fact she should’ve set Riorson House on fire as soon as she woke up and saw HER BROTHER was fucking alive. She took it too well all things considered
