So, I'm a self-shipper

One of my alterous F/O's is Meechee from Smallfoot. She's a yeti, she's into cryptids like I am, and she's so cool! She has a really pretty song in the movie, and she's really pretty!

I’m trying to identify myself, but can’t find the right one that “fits” me. Here’s what I know about myself so far:

I’m afab and attracted to men. I use she/her pronouns but also have masculine mannerisms (how I sit, interests, etc). I also seen to have more male friends that I am comfortable with than female.

I’ve also recently come to the realization that while I am attracted to male, I am also attracted to fictional characters from tv shows and video games as well.

I thought demigirl or androgyneflux fit me, but they don’t sit with me 100%. Some help and some possible flag options please?

I think that orientation terms that don't specify your gender is the best to distinguish one's gender and orientation, having more openness to talk about your affectional identities.

Then there's ma-/man-, which classifies the sole attraction to men, and mascic, which is the umbrella term for any attraction to men/miaspec people useful as a standalone unstraight term for such qualifier.

Ficto- is also commonly used as a general descriptor for the attraction towards fictional characters. Take note that since this was coined within asexual community, it's societally explained as an exclusive attraction to such things, therefore it can be normatively credible.

Now that you know you can experience two orientations, you could use duo- (having two or more well-defined sexualities that one switches between). But if you experience it in different forms of attraction, such as one in sensual and the other in alterous, you could be masensual fictoalterous, for example.

Your F/O respects your pronouns. They would never misgender you! Your F/O sees you for who you are and absolutely loves you.

Your F/O respects your boundaries. You are not "weird" or "too sensitive" for putting up boundaries. Your F/O understands that boundaries are part of a healthy relationship.

Your labels are real. Fictosexuality is an important part of the rainbow and we've always been here. As long as there's been fiction, people have been head over heels for fictional people. Do you use other words to label your sexuality too? Do you use any ficto microlabels like animesexual? Are you "just" ficto? No matter how you identify, you deserve to be proud of who you are!

can you explain animesexual to me? i’m a bit confused because i’ve seen that people are only using it as a way to get into the lgbtq+ community. and some other people are saying that it’s not valid since anime characters aren’t a gender. so i just want more opinions on the topic !

Animesexual is a subset of fictosexual.

Fictosexual means to be attracted to fictional characters.

It’s the big new term to make fun of online, that’s literally the only reason there’s so much hate for it. It’s the new “stargender.” Exclus found it and started mocking and trolling.

Fictosexuality has been a VERY important term for the aspec community for people who are not attracted to real people but who are attracted to fictional characters. It’s also important for those who are not aspec and who are attracted to fictional characters.

The people that state “it’s not valid because characters aren’t a gender” are reusing the rhetoric people made up to exclude demisexual, saying “sexuality is who you like, not how you like!!1!!”

The people who are saying “people are only using it to insert themselves into the LGBTQ+ community” are reusing the rhetoric used against aspec, polyam, and mogai individuals.

It’s valid, it’s mogai, and it’s in the spotlight rn due to a thread of trolls online, especially on reddit and tiktok.
