JEWISH PEACE ACTIVIST: "THE GERMAN GOVERNMENT DOES EVERYTHING IT CAN TO SILENCE US."
📹 Jewish German peace activist, Udi Raz, based in Berlin, accuses the German government of suppressing peace protests against the Israeli occupation's genocide in Gaza.
According to Raz, the German authorities continue to suppress the Palestine solidarity movement, accusing the German authorities of doing all it can to silence protesters.
The activist slams the Israeli occupation, which publicly accuses the pro-Palestine peace movement of antisemitism, while at the same time, the Zionist occupation declares its ability to speak for all Jews around the world.
"Israel cannot speak in the name of Jews," Raz tells Anadolu News Agency. "Whoever claims otherwise, to my understanding, this is an antisemitic claim."
"Jews are diverse. Jews live in diverse and different geopolitical contexts and national contexts," the Jewish peace activist continues.
"We Jews who live here in Germany, of course, we care about other Jews who live elsewhere, but it does not mean that we are ambassadors of a racist state called the state of Israel," Raz added.

Surgeon worked in Gaza feels “criminalised” after being refused entry to France
A British surgeon who testified about Israel’s war on Gaza after operating during the conflict said he felt criminalised after being refused entry to France at the weekend, The Guardian reports.
Prof Ghassan Abu-Sitta, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, was due to speak about the war to the upper house of the French parliament on Saturday. However, after arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport north of Paris on a morning flight from London, French authorities informed him that Germany had enforced an all-Schengen ban on his entry to Europe.
Abu-Sitta said he was unaware that German authorities, who had previously refused him entry to Berlin in April, had imposed an administrative visa ban on him for a year, meaning he was barred from entering any Schengen country. Abu-Sitta said on Sunday:
“What I find most difficult to accept is this complete criminalisation.”
He added that he was previously told by authorities he would be unable to enter Germany for the month of April.
Yanis Varoufakis, former Greek finance minister and leader of the leftist MEPA25 party, commented on this situation on X:
“Banning an eyewitness from testifying before the French Senate, thus protecting Israel’s right to commit genocide with impunity, is a new low for the EU. The impression is that the EU authorities are doing everything they can to justify Brexiteers. Unprecedented stupidity in action!”

New Banksy art stolen less than an hour after its legitimacy was confirmed
A piece of art made by Banksy showing solidarity with those suffering in Gaza was stolen less than an hour after it was confirmed to be legit. Exactly what's wrong with society. People just see the money. Not the message. Our whole West Society is based on seeing money as more important than anything else. The way America and Europe behave towards the genocide in Gaza just shows that.

Zachary Taylor is kind of the American Civil War version of Bilbo Baggins--the somewhat eccentric man whose adventures were a prequel that set up the main conflict of the next generation and became the lore that everyone used to frame their response to the war.
This means that Andrew Jackson is American history's Fëanor--a fiery, charismatic, problematic figure who everyone in the future of American politics has to define themselves as either for or against.
Abraham Lincoln is the Civil War's Gandalf--a tall, shabby figure who people underestimate because he appears doddering and harmless and likes hanging out "the little people", until he proves to have hidden abilities to lead a group of vastly different personalities through a dangerous conflict.
Ulysses S. Grant could be a candidate for Frodo--Bilbo's heir who learns from and idolizes him--but surprisingly, I think he's a better fit for Samwise Gamgee--the thoroughly common man who served under Bilbo, who insists upon having a part in the war, and proves to have a vital role in ending it because of his wells of sheer dogged determination (and who is more willing than Frodo is to use violence along the way). Plus, his nickname actually is Sam, and like Sam, the name we know him by turns out to be a translation and his real name is something different. And he's very devoted to his wife and children.
Purely based on "relationship to the Bilbo character", the best candidate for the Frodo role might be Taylor's son-in-law Jefferson Davis, which is absolutely wild. He was related to and respected Taylor and was reported to have been heavily influenced by his approach to military matters.
Under this framework, the other hobbits roles should be filled by military figures, but I don't know enough to cast anybody.
There is no Aragorn figure, which is why Reconstruction went as poorly as it did.

Berlin students rallied in support of Palestine
Students gathered in front of Humboldt University in Berlin on Wednesday to protest Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and crackdown on anti-war activists in Germany.
The crowd, which included anti-Israel Jewish protesters, chanted slogans and held placards. One of the students, Gregor Kahl, claimed that hundreds of people took part in the gathering. He lambasted the US for voting against the recent UN General Assembly resolution on Gaza and Germany for abstaining.
Israel targeted the Gaza Strip with aerial and land bombardments, besieged the enclave and launched the ground offensive in response to a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 18,608 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 50,600 injured in the Israeli attacks.
