A privately-owned world can never be a free world and a society based upon warring classes cannot stand.
Such a world is a world of strife and hate and such a society can exist only by means of militarism and physical force.

In the unlikely (my opinion) event that Trump serves hard time, he could still run for president from prison like Eugene V. Debs did in 1920.
“One oddity of the current moment is that the weaker Trump seems, with federal and local investigations piling up and his campaign launch landing with a thud, the higher the chances that more possible candidates will launch their own bids, seeing a path to victory more likely. And the more candidates enter, the easier it becomes for Trump to win with an increasingly smaller share of the vote.”
— David Freedlander in POLITICO

Literally nothing in canon to support it, but I like to believe that Bob and Linda Belcher named their son Gene in honor of Eugene V. Debs.

"As far as I’m concerned, ‘liberal’ is the most meaningless word in the dictionary. History has shown me that as long as some white middle-class people can live high on the hog, take vacations to Europe, send their children to private schools, and reap the benefits of their white skin privilege, then they are ‘liberal’. But when times get hard and money gets tight, they pull off that liberal mask and you think you’re talking to Adolf Hitler. They feel sorry for the so-called underprivileged just as long as they can maintain their own privileges." - Assata Shakur, Assata: An Autobiography (1987)

“Wars throughout history have been waged for conquest and plunder… And that is war, in a nutshell. The master class has always declared the wars; the subject class has always fought the battles… To turn your back on the corrupt Republican Party and the corrupt Democratic Party—the gold-dust lackeys of the ruling class—counts for something. It counts still more...to join a minority party that has an ideal, that stands for a principle, and fights for a cause.” ~ Eugene V. Debs speech December 25th 1921 ~ (born November 5, 1855 – died October 20, 1926)

in honor of my previous queued post, i wanted to share some info about the eugene debs foundation/museum!
it is based in terre haute, indiana, which is very close to where i grew up (we actually passed the museum location very often on our way into terre haute, but i didn't learn the significance of it until i had moved away)
today, i was on their website and discovered they actually have quite a lot of merchandise available for sale! (it does look like they only ship to the US and canda)
they have some books by and about debs, cds of labor songs, and a few truly dope posters and shirts like this one:

they also have virtual tours you can schedule (for free or a donation) for people who may be interested but understandably may never find themselves anywhere near terre haute indiana
