Fifteenth Week
Hi, my name is Robert Laskarzewski, and I am currently a sophomore at the Darla Moore School of Business studying International Business and Marketing. I’m a part of the International Business Responsible International Leadership (RIL) program and will spend the Spring and Fall semesters at the ESSEC Cergy campus. I was born and raised in California, about an hour away from San Francisco. I chose to attend the University of South Carolina specifically because of the RIL program and the amount of time abroad that was offered. Once I was accepted, it was an easy choice to pursue my studies there.
This week marked my last week of official classes, now all that’s left is two more finals – one of which will be assigned on the 18th (and due a week later) and the other is an exam on the 25th. My volunteering program in May has been mostly finalized and I had a brief conversation with my manager. He informed me what day to come on and that he would pick me up from the train station and help me settle in – although I’m quite nervous I’m sure it will be an amazing experience. He mentioned something about the beach in our brief three minute-long phone call which piqued my interest.
During the week however, I did have several of my finals including my French language final, French history/culture final, my Entrepreneurship final presentation, and my final paper for my E-Business class. The paper I wrote was about how blockchain can be used for business applications and whether it has real applicable use. I concluded that without public support, blockchain technologies would probably be unlikely to succeed on a mass scale – I’ll probably be wrong but that’s not too important.
On Friday, I went to Paris to get more of my film developed, see a museum, and watch a soccer game.
I went to the Paris Sewer Museum, a very interesting but quite small museum. It was basically just a stairway down to the sewer level of Paris where you could walk on walkways over a running Parisian sewer. It didn’t smell anywhere near as bad as I thought it would and I found it to be quite interesting all in all. I did see a few sewer rats which was pretty cool. I also went to a soccer game between Versailles FC and FC Villefranche Beaujoulais. It was very cold and misting the entire time so I ended up leaving after the first half, furthermore I didn’t really like the vibes of the stadium.
On Saturday, I went to Paris – again, to see a soccer game. This time it would be two of the heavy hitters in the First Division of French football, Lens and PSG. I almost didn’t go to this game, but I know I would forever regret not having gone to see Lionel Messi playing. Once I took the RER and the metro to the Le Parc des Princes, I found my way to my seat which was only five rows from the field. I was rooting for RC Lens so I was quick to celebrate their goal from the penalty spot, shouting as loud as I could among the PSG supporters. Despite the loss for my team of choice, I was happy to see so many players that I had only seen on TV.

This course has been a wonderful experience that has transformed my viewpoint. The entrepreneurial mind is more than a set of rules; it's an ongoing journey of learning and growth.
The value of learning from mistakes was one of the most eye-opening parts of the journey. I saw obstacles transformed into stepping stones to prosperity after experiencing disappointments and difficulties. Through the challenges presented by the entrepreneurial mind course, I refined my approach to problem-solving and gained a deeper understanding of the significance of continuous improvement. Innovation flourishes in varied and collaborative contexts, further reinforced by the joint initiatives' emphasis on shared ideas.
Now that I'm nearing the finish of this voyage, I see how far-reaching it is. My whole way of thinking has been shaped by an entrepreneurial spirit, which has taught me to see challenges not as impediments but as chances to innovate and make something new. In addition to providing me with the knowledge I need to succeed in the corporate world, this course has ignited in me a thirst for knowledge and an enthusiasm for venturing into the unknown realm of entrepreneurship. I will always remember the entrepreneurial mind subject; it was more than just a class; it sparked a fire under my intellectual and personal ambitions.

Streaming the Life of Winnie Li
When I first came to DLSU (online, that is) one of my block mates had organized a Discord server where we could meet each other, as it was still the height of the pandemic and classes were done online. After introducing ourselves to one another, another girl joined the call. She, I, and one other student were the only girls in the server so I instantly wanted to talk to her. Eventually I got to get to know and work with this girl more when face to face classes started and she has become one of my closest friends in university.
December 20, 2021 (Winnie on the bottom left and me on the upper left)
Born on September 6, 2003, Winnie Angelica Li came to De La Salle University in 2021. At 20 years old, she is taking a double degree for Communication Arts and Entrepreneurship. Despite taking two courses, her academic life and personal life are well balanced.
Winnie enjoys playing video games such as Minecraft, Sims 4, Fortnite, Valorant, Solasta, and Gerna Undawn. Being in a similar environment, her other hobbies include analyzing the the Valiant e-sports scene.
Among her favorites, Project Zombie and The Sims 4 are her go-to comfort games. As for the ones she plays competitively, Valorant is her favorite. She also hopes that streaming will be in her future and dreams as well.
Outside of her PC, Winnie doesn’t travel much but loves going to the beach once in a while since she used to live in Batangas. She’d love to go to Japan one day with her boyfriend, Neil, as he wants to go and she feels like it has so much cultural experiences that she would find interesting.
Winnie and Her Boyfriend Neil
I wanted to ask Winnie a different type of question, so I asked her if she ever had a near death experience. She did, in fact, have a specific one and answered right away!
“I was driving a motorcycle without a helmet and license, with someone as my passenger too, and I crashed into a tricycle. The tricycle had 4 people on it including the driver.”
That takes guts.
Then I proceeded to ask whether she had a “Main Character” moment in her life. She thought about it and said that it was probably the time when she and her team won in a Nation Business Convention for their business proposal plan.
To conclude it, I asked whether she felt like she changed from the pandemic or not. Winnie responded saying that the isolation really changed her, as she feel like she became more introverted in a way and lazier since it was just two years of her sitting down and playing games.
Winnie Li is truly one of the best people you can meet both as a friend and a classmates, and I'm glad to have met her and got to know her better. We have gotten close ever since working and seeing each other face to face and I truly hope that she is a friend that I have for life.

Beginning of the Journey
Hello everyone!! I’m Charlie and I just want to share my personal thoughts and experiences in taking the subject The Entrepreneurial Mind.
What lessons that I learned.
As I listened to the discussion with my instructor about the subject, The Entrepreneurial Mind, a lot of new things that I learned about this subject are very useful for me. I realized that all the things I learned in previous years about entrepreneurship or the entrepreneurs themselves are just the icing of knowledge if I compare it to the whole cake of what really entrepreneurs are. I learned that entrepreneurs are not just businessperson that has intrapreneurial mindset but also a person that stands out from the rest of the world due to their distinctive set of thought processes, methods, resiliency, and mechanism in coping in times of problems. I particularly learned a lot from the discussion about the behavioral patterns of entrepreneurs. It thought me a lot about etiquette, behavior, characteristics, and attitude that an entrepreneur must possess to gain success. I have learned also that as an entrepreneur, I must be familiar with the latest trends to cope with society so that I can come up with a wonderful business idea that will surely attract my chosen target market. I must also possess the characteristics of being flexible, a risk taker, a good storyteller, and a wise planner.
The second part.
Last few weeks Thursday 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, we don’t have class in the scheduled time in this subject, so I and my groupmates make use of the time to gather some information individually by interviewing the students, instructors, residents and other people here in CMU about the different problems in our society that they see or experienced first-hand. After the interviews, we discuss and brainstorm about the information that we gather in the interviews and then choose the most relevant point of pain that we are going to solve in an entrepreneurial way. Our team came up with a lot of ideas and suggestions and in the end, we managed to identify the point of pain that we are going to solve which is the difficulty and inconveniency in searching for apartments, boardinghouses and dormitories in CMU. Our solution to this problem is “HomeAxis”, a website that provides users useful information such as rental price, availability, location, privileges and services, to the different apartments, boardinghouses and dormitories near CMU. We also agreed that our target customers will be the students and other people that are searching for vacant boarding houses and dormitories near the CMU. We agreed that we can get income through this website from the students or anyone that are going to use our website, and from the owner of the boarding houses and dormitories by facilitating the transaction between them and the customers and then charging some percentage of the transaction. With this, we can create a win-win situation where both parties benefits.
The entrepreneurial road was never simple since it required viewing challenges as opportunities. You must be driven, passionate, and eager to succeed in business. Love your idea, work with love.

Week 3 Blog Post
My name is Jacob Beckley, I am a senior at the University of Cincinnati. I am double majoring in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, with a minor in communications. I grew up an hour east of Cincinnati but moved to Cleveland (near my family) my senior year of high school. I like to say both Cincinnati and Cleveland are my home. I have interests in traveling, music, the entertainment industry, technology, and hanging out with my friends and family. I have worked many jobs including retail, food service, and at my uncle’s granite company. I think all of my work experiences have shaped me to become an efficient, organized, hard worker.
I am taking this class to help develop a greater understanding of digital technologies and how to use them in a greater business sense. I love the idea of digital businesses so when I saw this as an elective I could take, I jumped right on it. Not only is this a class that helps me complete my degree, but I am incredibly interested in the concept, and believe it will add value to my skill set. I want to utilize the skills I learn by implementing them into my future marketing jobs.
I hope to learn what digital tools are used in the workspace, and how to work with them. I also want to dive deep into past and future digital technology, and analyze how they have become today. The idea of innovation really fascinates me. I believe companies must choose to innovate to stay on top of their industry. This is especially true with how ever-changing our technology is. I hope to dive more into that concept, and learn from the past mistakes companies have made. Overall, I hope to gain experience in the history of the digital landscape, and learn how to leverage digital tools to strengthen my skills.

Blog #3
You can do things with one, but with many, you can make the impossible possible. In my journey as an Entrepreneurial Mind student, that is what I learned. Another thing is that you first need to get inspiration; you cannot simply go out and be an entrepreneur without first attempting to learn from and listen to a co-entrepreneur. That is why I find the lecture series seminar which occurred last November 23, 2022, to be both interesting and intriguing.
In connection, there were really a lot of things that I learned, but I’m just going to point out those things that really struck me as things that are relevant to me as an aspiring entrepreneur. The first thing I learned was that, as an entrepreneur, what needs to be done is to look for a problem and then solve it. Don’t just make something that will add to the problems of your target market. Another thing to do is to reach out to others, especially if you are just starting out. Try to get partnerships with other start-up businesses too. Since you can’t just do things on your own. When you go out and ask for help from others, you can accomplish a lot more. To exemplify, the resource speaker gave an example of a service called "Dirt Bag." They don’t actually own a washing machine; what they do is just get the dirty clothes and deliver them to their partner laundry shops, then deliver them back washed and cleaned to the customer. So it is really a win-win situation when you work with others. Additionally, I also learned that, though we are still students, we can still put into action or realize our start-up business, like those students in USTP who were funded by an investor to fully realize their product. It really raises my hopes that, in the near future, we can actually realize these ideas.
Moreover, on the second speaker, one word really struck me, and that was "mindset." As an entrepreneur, you need to really set your mindset. Set clear priorities, and focus on the goal, while also building connections with your teammates. As a team, you can’t just make a connection in one snap. There is a need to really converse and bond with each other. Try to actually build a good and healthy environment within the team. One example he gave was that he and his team go on dates together and just go drinking and talk about life. I know this seems insignificant, but remember that a team is doomed to fail when there is no connection and when members of that team do not respect one another. Surely, when a team is like this, it is bound to fail. That is why there is a need for a connection. Also, when a connection has already been established, unity enters the picture. This is where good communication with the team is seen and a good flow of ideas kicks in. On the second day of the lecture series, I wasn’t really able to fully listen since we were actually busy I was one of the students who was chosen to be part of the team to represent our class in the pitching of our products. That was really one fun experience, though I wasn’t really on the stage talking and explaining, my nervousness was really eminent, and somehow, I felt so agitated. But that all paid off when we got into the top 10.
All in all, entrepreneurship is not easy, but it is really relevant and fun. It is significant in that it provides equal opportunity to all, to those willing to commit and gamble their ideas in the market. I also learned a lot during the lecture series seminar, and I really do think that I will be able to apply it since we are still not yet finished with our pitching video. But still, we are now in the process of making it. To sum it all up, to be an entrepreneur, there is a need to reach out to others, since alone you can do things, but with many, the impossible becomes possible.

General Star Trek Headcanons for day 11 (Headcanons) and 16 (Worldbuilding) of Trektober 2021
Worldbuilding:
School has the same energy and attitude to learning as primary/elementary school but obviously learning gets more advanced as the years go on and the option to specialise is there as you get older
Also people being different ages in different years isn't unheard of or too rare (I mean in AOS most of the crew would be child geniuses to be in the same position as TOS but in less time)
I initially thought learning would be like on Vulcan with learning pits but this stopped any cool high school ideas for character backstories and also humans are social, creative creatures. Even if kids are loners, and there's less pressure to be forced into activities, it's still better to be around people than alone in a pit
Perhaps classes are based around learning style with age as a secondary factor so kids who like to work alone work alone with some creativity, others who need more time are given more time without the separation of modern classes or the possible stigma of being the only one
Human Sex Ed is well taught and not dependent on the school but alien sex Ed is a bit dependent on if you're near a big Starfleet outpost or not
Creativity is encouraged, other pathways for life other than college/uni (such as entrepreneurship or apprenticeships etc) are taught and encouraged
Basically in star trek times they recaptured the joy of learning that let people make discoveries in the past
There's opportunities to specialise while having less pressure on grades and you're also looked after so money isn't too much of an issue
Education, food, health, tech and infrastructure are well funded, as well as Starfleet
Basically a lot is taken out of taxes of people who can afford it and in return you get everything you need to live so the only things you need to pay for are actual luxuries such as dining out or holidays and stuff
This is definitely not a way for me to get my anger at society out of my system
Characters and ship:
Ben and Hikaru met in a garden centre, Chekov found Ben
Ben is a marine biologist who's a year older than Hikaru and worked as a life guard on the beach while Hikaru was in the Academy
Yes this meant a lot of Baywatch-esque scenes
Ben calls Hikaru: Hiccup (from calling him Hik), Ru (from Hikaru) and Joey (Ru -> Kangaroo -> Baby Kangaroo -> Joey)
Ben's family are a long line of fisherpeople? Fishermen? Idk the gender neutral term
This means Hikaru gets lots of cute daddy daughter fishing trip pictures of Ben and Demora when away
Crewmates with daddy issues tend to gravitate towards either Bones or Scotty or both purely because they radiate dad energy
This is why Jim and Spock are so close to Bones and Jaylah and Chekov are kinda adopted by Scotty
Uhura sings to Disney princess songs while washing her hair and yes this means she's a Disney princess
Stuff like A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes from Cinderella and Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty

Real Estate Investing With Jay Conner
Jay Conner:
Your goals actually support what that canvas is going to look like that you are creating the vision about. Well, I’m glad you’re an open book Alex, cause I want to dig a little bit deeper. Will you share with me and the audience, a couple of examples of what your vision is for your life and for yourself and how that’s playing out? What are some of your priorities that you put in place? And what’s part of your vision look like?
Alex Pardo:
I’m a big advocate of something that I learned years ago called The Vision Stacking and vision stacking is when you can look at your vision, once you’ve outlined what you want your life to look like in a different areas, when you could start to stack visions and kind of accomplish and kill one bird with, or kill two birds with one stone, as they say. So holiday mastermind is a perfect example of that holiday mastermind. Like you said in the intro, it takes place in a world-class setting. So what is vision stacking, holiday masterminds, a perfect example of that. I love to serve. I love to give of myself and help people. I genuinely want to make an impact on people’s life. And so holiday mastermind is all about being able to raise money so that we can impact a charity that’s near and dear to my heart.
So I also enjoy masterminding and getting together with awesome people. I love to I’m constantly striving for growth and for pushing the limits on what I’m capable of. So I combined being able to raise a bunch of money for people through holiday mastermind with masterminding, with awesome people and also traveling. Traveling is also on my vision. So holiday mastermind takes place, in The Bahamas or in Jamaica or different places once a year. And so I essentially looked at my vision. I said, “How can I start the vision stack? I want to travel. I want to hang out with great people and grow and learn and push myself while impacting and serving people.” So there’s one example of me living my vision. Ascend is another one, you know Ascend is a successful business, but the goal of that business is not to make a bunch of money every single month, the goal of that businesses to impact and work with high-level entrepreneurs. So it’s very important that for people watching and listening, that you get crystal clear on what you want, why you want it, and then figure out how to reverse engineer the process to start to actually make that a reality. Most people just dream visions, allow you to take those dreams and make it a reality.

Little India Journey of the Senses
Today is a cultural day of discovery for me and my mum with Monster Day Tours as we embark on a journey of the senses around Little India.
Our first stop is the mural titled “Cattleland” by Eunice Lim. The mural depicts images of buffaloes, clouds and flowers with the number 52 prominently displayed to commemorate the celebration of the nation’s 52nd birthday.
Our next stop is the former site of the Kandang Kerbau Hospital (now known as the K.K. Women's and Children's Hospital) which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's busiest maternity hospital with 39,856 deliveries in 1966.
Next up is a mural by Jaxton Su which depicts horse racing and garland-making, and the Shree Lakshminarayan Temple which is the first dedicated place of worship for North Indian Hindus. One interesting thing to note is the color combination of red and white to symbolize purity.
During our morning tea break, we stopped by the former house of Tan Teng Niah which is the last surviving Chinese villa in the neighborhood. The villa is a testament to the great cultural diversity in Singapore, with various architectural influences from around the region. The conserved building is earmarked for commercial use only and is currently privately held.
Next two stops on our cultural walking trail includes the mural, “Traditional Trades of Little India” by Psyfool and the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple. Interestingly, communities in the past liked to live around the temple as it is typically the tallest structure in the neighborhood and is believed to be able to protect homes from lighting.
To expand our horizons, the tour guide also took us on a tour of the areas around Little India where we will seldom come across including Krsna’s Free Meals which offers free food for the community, the Zhong Clan Association Singapore, and the Kampong Kapor Methodist Church.
As we come to the end of the tour, we took a leisurely stroll to discover the beautiful artworks and murals scattered around the neighborhood such as “The Working Class Hero” by Zero and “Daily Delivery” by Didier Jaba Mathieu.
One fun fact that I discovered today was a mural located near the famous Mustafa Centre titled “Folding Dreams” by Eunice Lim. The mural depicted beautifully folded handkerchiefs which symbolizes the entrepreneurship spirit of Mr. Mustaq Ahmad who started his business at a young age selling handkerchiefs along side his father.
After a morning of walking, it was time for a quick lunch before venturing into “Slurping Good” which is an interactive experience focused on the humble instant noodles. Overall, the museum is built for the generation of Instagram with tons of photo opportunities.
Special thanks to Monster Day Tours for organizing such an interesting walking tour around Little India. Definitely looking forward to my next local adventure with the tour group!
