The fact that most European companies treat their non-European employees like shit- despite the fact that Western Europeans enjoy the highest level of workers' rights in the world- just because they can get away with it in the United States or whatever is proof why regulations are needed.
European workers are only treated better than their American counterparts because there are laws protecting them, not because European corporations are so much more humanitarian than American companies. Never forget that under capitalism companies will exploit you for all you're worth and all they can legally get away with.

it was just going to be a few warmup doodles but then she infected the rest of the page like the ever eternal and spreading spores. hod!!! hod. hod :)
#lobotomy corporation#lobcorp#hod#hod lobcorp#lobotomy corp spoilers#I GUESS i almost forgot i drew her box form#lobcorp spoilers#and michelle actually. ..#both very tiny. itty bitty. microscopic#other sephirah there too as normal. i cant have her alone. and Angelina as well on the top patting her#i have a hard time fully capturing her for some reason. in my mind. maybe its because is the disconnected period!!! mentally#she genuinely wishes to care and be kind yet theres a dissonance with what she does..? or how it ends up being taken or what she does to en#up bringing those actions into reality. she can be forceful? wanting to have employees attend therapy sessions and meetings for suppression#tactics. which i think is also something the safety team is incharge of iirc. so that means shes doing way more that what she needs to on#her job as a sephirah. just for the sake of employees#she really does care as shes one of the only to Directly attempt to change their circumstances and quality of life and health#sure chesed doesnt punish employees when they dont do their work assigned or stress them out with work#but he doesnt actively push to attempt to make changes to aid employees besides the research perks which is to the manager#yesod IS right next to her and does also genuinely care but when it comes to employees hes distant at best when it comes to them and the#way he tries to protect them is by enforcing rules but he doesnt really create or attempt to help them like hod does#yesod is sort of a passive? way of doing it. yes he doesn make a push to enforce said rules but he doesnt make new ones. just follows what#is already there in place. hod tries to make new ways and not just for the safety of people like how yesod's has them physically fine and#not letting them over a certain threshold of mental corruption but she tries to have a program to Directly Address such a thing#its born out of care but the genuine worry of being a good person and her naivety ends up having it do more harm than good#sure there may be some employees that actually like and find it useful but so many are just accepting to their fate of Dying to where#her care seems pointless. shes a sephirah and to them a literal metal box why would they go ahead and feel bad for what an 'ai' is feeling#as she is interrupting their free time in the company#which is rude. and shit. iirc the counseling is compulsory but people go because shes a sephirah and their superior. the thought was there#but again it comes off wrong and ends up not working because shes their superior in the end#EEK!!! yeah... hod. the hod. there is WAY more but i can't fit it all here and i already typed enough

Anyway if you really wanna see me go off later remind me to talk about the fucking assholes trying to blame economic problems on immigration rather than the temporary foreign worker permits because I learned about that last week and I am MAD
Wild how literally every problem plaguing Canada at the moment boils down to corporations saying “hey would you mind if we just don’t follow these labour laws” and the government saying “yeah sure”
Fucking absurd
(Short form: immigrants pay taxes and contribute to the local economy and are basically free adults and workers you did not have to pay childcare or wait for them to grow up and are great
Temporary foreign worker permits were issued to bail out companies who “couldn’t find” local labour - because they refused to offer reasonable wages or benefits, or just plain didn’t want to risk Canadians calling out unsafe labour practices - and let them “temporarily” bring in people from other countries who do not know our labour laws and would accept worse conditions
They’re also not allowed to properly apply for permanent visas and shit to become immigrants because The Bullshit™️ levels are off the fucking charts. Come over to be exploited but oh you’re not allowed to stay?
This is why no one could find a job despite all the places “hiring” in 2022 and SO MANY companies are finally being fined for abusing the system but not enough to make them fucking stop)

i guess this is a vent? idk I'm talk to myself some is all
the thing ab CAB is she will literally experience us having coughing fits every couple of hours overnight, waking up drowsy and dizzy with a sore throat, clutching her stomach as the sick affects the tummy and also the pre-existing GI issues, and brain empty bc sick brain fog + grief brain fog + already have brain problems. and her ass will still try to take over and be like NO WE'RE OKAY EVERYTHINGS OKAY LETS GO TO WORK OKIE DOKIE LETS GO YOU'RE LETTING EVERYONE DOWN (< who i have no idea btw. everyone in my life is telling me to stay home & rest. probably dad cus he doesnt believe in covid but he also doesnt mean shit anymore in our lives bby I promise) LETS GO. like girl. we literally cant even stand without getting dizzy and we got terrible sleep last night AND our boss is letting us "wfh" instead of exhausting our eto. could you be any more .... oh god word dont elude me now ..... whatever. anyway. CAB shut the fuck up challenge
#bunny rambles#i know she started as a way to protect me mentally at work i know i know#i know she exists bc my dad treated us like future employees/interview candidates and not entirely as people#i know she just wants to protect me but also girl shut the fuck up we have COVID if there was ever a time to rest its now#why are you even awake! you dont need to be! she literally freaked out immediately when waking up today and demanded we take a covid test#which like. i have enough of but also ofc nothing's changed cus we're still sick!! but i can smell and taste just a little more everyday and#she's taking that alone as a sign of faking being sick like GIRL CHILL ITS NOT THAT SERIOUS we can wfh today pls#I'll even indulge u with tasks just pls girl take a fuckin nap i beg u#on a funnier note: yesterday i was talking to my therapist ab this bitch and yk the fact that when things are hard in my life i dissociate#more/less with Responsibilities & i gave examples of a few times in the past i literally didnt realize there was Actual Harm happening to/in#my body until i literally Snapped out of the dissociation (like my appendix nearly bursting. or when i put the blade thru my kneecap at my#last job and str8 up didnt know i was gushing blood until i peed an indeterminate am of time later)#and i was comparing the sensations of my body and explaining between the grief & sick i Literally dont know where my creatures are bc#everything is dampened for Me but also i KNOW they're coming out bc i cant remember some days at work last week/breakdowns ive had but cant#remember the inside only the sobbing coming down this past week. and also we were IDing the fact that 16 (a conglomerate of my teen years)#is like. Here. and maybe me constantly saying “i feel like 16” when im in this distressed headspace is more of a sign that like. i should#explore and listen to those parts (and oooh boy did they talk yesterday) and um. wait there was a point#OH RIGHT my therapist was like “you know. you use different pronouns for your parts” and i honestly didnt realize that#but i Was able to give her a mapping of when every name in my name pile came into existence/was a primary name#and as i/16 was mapping the name pile (16 did most and then u could tell where 16 wasnt as sure bc it was the 21+ names pile which is#complicated but of 16 dont know that. not the point) um anyway. this is a very long crazy sounding ramble#im just talking to myself mostly but if u read this then thanks for listening to me ramble ig

most abled people's "simple surefire" suggestions for how to meet new people make me understand why they don't have any disabled friends or don't think of us as anything but an abstract concept, or else the barriers to entry would be hyper-conscious in their minds

Self employment tip: you HAVE to have solid boundaries. If you don’t, people will walk over you. Money won’t mean much if you’re completely burnt out by never saying no.

dont get me wrong i love that fukuzawa is all about personal freedom, including with his employees, but let us not kid ourselves that this personal freedom comes at the cost of tanizaki and kunikida's mental and physical wellbeing 👀
yosano and dazai (him to a lesser extent, but the way he treats kunikida is like ??? yo shachou...you're just gonna let that happen to your devoted employee? ok ok sure) are kinda seriously off-leash in the WORST way???
and like, YEAH it's funny as a reader but like......your employees deserve to not be harassed into panic attacks on company premises...and also possibly...PERHAPS...correct me if *I'M* being the asshole here...the option to NOT DIE without being brutally tortured...
like...maybe you should...step in...my guy...my dude...

i don’t think my workplace does a very good job standing up for its lgbt employees and i thought about bringing that up to administration but i don’t really know what to say other than that it makes me uncomfortable how quick they are to censor lgbt material because it makes a small percentage of the community upset

Me: [slowly eating my breakfast, mentally preparing for the day]
Phone: [pings]
Boss sent a text to me and like 3 other people asking for shipping updates that we are all already aware of him being anxious for and would have updated him on when we got to our desks and, you know, were able to check on the status.
Like... my brother in Christ it is 7am please go touch some fucking grass.

If anyone has taken their eyes off what's happening to federal workers in the US right now, here's some highlights that we're hearing from our comrades across the government who have not yet been fired:
In one building (hosting multiple agencies), the locks on the bathroom were changed so employees no longer have any access to a bathroom during the workday. People are peeing in trash cans.
Elsewhere, multiple agencies have reported that hand soap is no longer being supplied in the bathrooms.
Toilet paper supplies have not been adjusted to meet the needs of a vastly increased number of in-office employees.
Employee-owned coffee and coffee makers have been stolen or thrown away without notice (it was already illegal for taxpayer dollars to be spent on supplying federal employees with amenities like coffee, so many offices have coffee supplied by pooled employee funds).
Meanwhile, many offices don't even have potable drinking water (recurrent legionella outbreaks), so employees have to bring their own water from home.
Despite an explosion in the number of workers in offices, cleaning budgets have been slashed and many offices are not being cleaned regularly enough to remain sanitary. Pests like roaches and rats are a problem.
The firings continue, legal and illegal. Entire programs are being cut. Managers have no idea when they might lose staff. Employees are getting fired at 6pm on a weekend or finding out when they're unable to log into their computer or when they receive a shipping label in the mail to return their equipment.
Through all of this, the DOGE employees in federal workplaces are enjoying incredible and expensive luxury: AI-powered sleep pods, entire dormitories so they can live in federal buildings, nurseries for their children on site, free food and beverages, laundry services, and who knows what else. They have special security to restrict access to their areas of the buildings, including armed guards.
And I'm not just saying this to lament how bad it is for federal workers. I'm saying this because, as workers are reporting this to one another, the response is, inevitably: "This is illegal." "Yes, but who would I report it to? OPM? They're a DOGE puppet. OSHA? They've cut OSHA. The Inspectors General? Cut. The NLRB? Cut. My union? No longer recognized."
There is no one left to enforce these laws, so taking away access to basic sanitation is now effectively legal. They are doing this to federal workers, who historically have been some of the best-protected workers in the country. They are doing this specifically because it demonstrates to the public sector that it is now legal to do these things to their own workers.

someone asks me if i've seen the news lately. no, i haven't. i haven't had time, and if there's something i can take action about i'll find out at work
my colleagues and i have hushed strategy meetings about who's going to make sure the new guy knows that snitches get stitches and not to comply in advance
i wake up at 5:30 and read OPM memos in bed before work like the morning paper so i know what my meetings will be about
"what do you think implementation would look like?" i ask on autopilot upon receiving any new info
i am not in the right headspace to receive info that could possibly hurt me
"what other operations could that implementation impact? could any of those things be an unstated priority?"
"how do you think they plan on tracking compliance? how good do you think they'll be at it?"
i drip-feed rebellion
i engineer plausible deniability
i prepare for the worst
we hope for them to be lazy and incompetent
we hope that our questions aren't too pointed, too sensible, too obviously alerting them to the mistakes they're making
we try to play 4D chess while they eat the pieces
i call people to let them know they're being put on a list
i explain how to track potential damages
i celebrate a tiny moment of vindication about being right about something good (entitlement to severance pay)
i don't have time to watch severance but i reblog art anyway
a colleague calls me
a colleague calls me
a colleague calls me
