my key gripe with elementary is that it is both painfully aware of many of the inherent flaws baked into the criminal justice system and even metatextually in the way cops shows can glorify and perpetuate these systems however. the mouthpiece through which this is expressed is SHERLOCK HYPOCRITICAL HOLMES WHO LIVES IN A BROWNSTONE AND COMMITS 1000 ACTS OF ENTRAPMENT PER DAY.

I'm rewatching Elementary (TV) and this last episode (3x14 The Female of the Species) a bad thing happens to Watson and Sherlock has a case to work but he still BRINGS HER DINNER every night and eats it with her, even though he rarely keeps a normal schedule, and encourages her to talk about her feelings, and I love love love this as a contrast to how we left things at the beginning of S3, with Sherlock sulking back to London because Watson needed space. He has laboriously taught himself how to be a friend, like he taught himself to be kind, and it's so beautiful to see it.

I love their friendship so much. I've written about it so much. I'm never tired of the way they are shaped by each other.

Just got done with 01x15 of Elementary and ahhh

The thing about Sherlock is that he's so willing to get better, to live, to get sober, he's trying so hard and doing shit (admitting mistakes and apologizing for them) that I wouldn't even think of doing in a million years

If I ever see him relapse, I don't think I would be okay, that might just be my last straw (I was so close to bawling the moment Rhys pulled out the coke)
