If I had to recommend any one show or episode of a show to someone, I would hands down say X-Files, season 5: episode 12.

But specifically, you'd have to at least watch the first season to get a grip on the characters.

Sorry Rise, I love you, but you just aren't as good as this masterpiece.

sorry im still talking about this,, but the armand twist in the finale wouldve packed a waaayyyy bigger punch if it was revealed he orchestrated claudias murder and also louis’ salvation. if he planned to kill claudia out of some fucked up love he had for louis that wouldve been a DEVASTATING plot point. it would have been so delicious to see louis have to come to terms with the fact that armand killed claudia for him. like thats so fucking horrifying but thats also why im watching this show. i want to be horrified

it also is completely in line with what we’ve seen of armand. it wouldve been a fire parallel to what happened in the 70s with daniel, where armand went fucking crazy and possessive and hurt/tortured an innocent because of louis (im not blaming louis for what armand did to daniel u know what i mean by that). his whole thing is that he’s someone so so desperate for love that he’s willing to do anything to keep it for himself including killing the love of his life’s daughter, including torturing a random guy for a week straight, including manipulating memories

the reveal shouldve just been that armand directed the play and he was behind it the whole time and that he was the reason claudia died. can u imagine??? a scene of louis and armand in dubai directly after the twist is revealed to louis????? where armand is trying desperately to explain how he killed louis’ daughter as an act of love for him??????? and that louis just wouldnt understand and thats why hes been lying to him the whole time?? that would’ve been amazing jacob and assad wouldve ate so bad

it just seems like the writers were like armand is the villain👎👎👎 and lestat is the hero👍👍👍 when one of the huge messages of the show is that they are ALL monsters

Also weird how before the trailer viv was always tweeting to hyper her show up with gifs that had animation errors before the finished product... Like with an attentative view from the sidelines it's a wonder why she's purposefully choosing the shittiest shots with obvious fucking errors or mistakes that could've and will be fixed but like.... this shit has been in production for 4 years I'd hope that they would have cleaned it up and been a bit more careful unlike Helluva Boss....

i think my problem with eleven and the writing surrounding his era is moffats blatant refusal to respect anything written before his seasons. namely anything written by rtd. and when you have a character like the doctor where their current actions are fueled by the direct events that happened to them 5 minutes ago you kind of need to acknowledge what happened with ten before you do anything with eleven

#you can tangibly feel how much moffat doesnt care for the women from rtds era #and no offense but the women in rtds era were extremely important #im not saying that we need a rose cameo once a season and a martha mention every episode etc etc #im more saying that when you start writing a doctor without unbiasedly considering how their previous companions impacted them #you end up with a shit show of inconsistencies #we have a surface level of 'eleven acts happy but is actually mad because of his trauma' but it hardly goes deeper than that sadly #when that is usually like. the base line for any given doctor #idk Sorry im just thinking about how much i hate elevens episodes vs how much potential he had </3 #simon says
