Can I ask about the E-2 Barry and Reverb thoughts? I am very intrigued

oh absolutely okay so-

it'd definitely be enemies to lovers, in my brain for this particular idea I'm thinking Reverb kidnaps E2-Barry on Zoom's orders because he and/or Iris are getting too close to finding something out or otherwise becoming a threat (or maybe this is post-Escape from Earth-2 in an AU where Zoom didn't kill Reverb)

so Reverb's kidnapped Barry except Reverb decides he kinda likes this sad nerdy little man so he immediately starts making plans to take Barry away from Zoom and keep him for himself (and also probably deal with the hopelessly devoted to his wife problem cause I don't think Reverb would share well, personally)

poor Barry's absolutely distraught meanwhile because Zoom is terrifying and Reverb is also terrifying and giving him very confusing feelings that are honestly only making the situation more stressful and he's so worried about Iris and trying desperately to bargain with Reverb (he also probably tries bargaining with Zoom but I can't imagine that goes well)

Reverb eventually promises Barry he'll help him escape (very deliberately not promising to get him home or back to Iris, just to escape) and Barry absolutely jumps on it, probably thinking he managed to convince Reverb with whatever he offered last as a bargaining chip

so yeah I have a few ideas lol

Okay so admittedly I don’t have that many headcanons about him lol just that he’s left-handed (per the E1/E2 rule) and more of a troll that people give him credit for. Everyone calls him sweet and innocent and naïve and you are all incorrect!! He is sweet, but he is also a troll at heart and I will die on that hill 💞 he should’ve gotten to mess with E1 Barry a little too

E2 Iris:

Absolute bastard, menacing af, excellent as a whumper, would punch, but needed better motives because I’m going insane. Also, his romance with Caitlin sucked and was completely unnecessary. They had no chemistry (he had no interest in her) and it only served to make his motives even more incoherent.

Jay

DESERVED TO HAVE HIS INEVITABLE TRAUMA POST BEING HELD CAPTIVE FOR MULTIPLE MONTHS EXPLORED! Other than that, he’s cool, love his Flash suit and he had some good moments throughout the show.

Eowells

Love him as a character and villain— should be stabbed. Season 1 Eowells is top tier, and he was fun in season 2 but after that he just got really boring and stale. All of his good characterization went out the window and it was a travesty to see :/

E2 Barry

He’s so silly— need to rewatch the E2 episodes but he was fun and I wouldn’t complain about seeing more of him. Also, he had the most understandable reaction to being chased by Zoom— fucking terrified and he was so real for that. Double also; his little bowtie outfits were cute idc

Season 2 Flash AU where it's not Harry Wells who comes through from E2 to team up with Team Flash. It's E2 Hartley Rathaway.

Dr. Harrison Wells had already been killed by Zoom early on (sorry, Harry) - maybe after Zoom started taking Velocity and thought he didn't need Wells anymore since the side effects hadn't begun yet. Zoom can make time remnants but hasn't figured out how to travel in time more than a few hours (or a day at most) for his Jay vs Zoom stunts. So he can't just go back and undo Harry's death or go back further to dissuade himself from taking Velocity in the first place. So Zoom turns to Harry's successor, Dr. Hartley Rathaway.

If anyone can figure out how to steal speed for Zoom to heal himself with, surely Harrison Wells' handpicked prodigy could do it.

It's not Jesse who gets kidnapped; poor girl is grieving and has enough on her plate with her dad dead anyway. It's Jerrie Rathaway, Hartley's younger sister. Whom Hartley has custody of after a tragic accident had killed his parents a few years earlier. She's fourteen and terrified but so sure her brother is going to save her.

So Hartley knows Zoom is going to demand something from him eventually, but he heads to E2 to meet Team Flash there and ask for their help. Jay's gone missing, after all, so it's not like he can turn to his Earth's Flash. He brings with him a few projects from his own Earth, of course. His own version of the Piper gloves - unfinished - and a tricked out flute. Just a music project, nothing to worry about.

Of course Team Flash doesn't trust Hartley at the start, but they relent and let him help and when things go sideways in their attempt to trap Zoom using Linda, Hartley risks his life to try to save Barry. Doesn't work, but it endears him to the team after Cisco shoots Zoom like in canon.

He and Cisco get close - Hartley can't resist flirting with Cisco despite knowing what Cisco's counterpart on E2 is like - and it's definitely a mutual attraction. Helped on Cisco's side that this Hartley is friendlier and respects Cisco as an engineer.

And then Zoom dangles Jerrie in front of Hartley one night, demands Hartley figure out how to steal a speedster's speed, and makes his big damn mistake because Hartley was affected by the accelerator on his Earth.

Harry kept it quiet for his sake and the meta detector was never made commercially available. So Hartley's kept it secret all this time. He only ever told Cisco on Team Flash and Cisco kept it quiet for him too. It's just augmented hearing - a bit painful, but kept in check with hearing aids. But augmented hearing that lets him realize Zoom and Jay have the same voice.

So when Hartley puts Jay in the pipeline using his completed flute, no one sees it coming. And he's got a lot of explaining to do. Caitlin doesn't believe him, but Cisco does. And Barry is willing to make Jay think Barry believes he's Zoom to humor Hartley. Except Jay's all too willing to believe that Barry knows he's Zoom and, well... the truth does out.

Cue E2 shenanigans as Hartley, Cisco, and Barry go to rescue Jerrie. Zoom's missing - he hadn't planned on being caught so no time remnant wandering around in his absence at the moment. Reverb's in charge, however, and he's a menace with Killer Frost and Deathstorm's backup. They manage to rescue Jerrie anyway and the man in the iron mask, the real Jay Garrick of E2... the doppelganger of Henry Allen of E1. No E3 randomly muddying the waters concerning when Zoom found out about the multiverse.

It ends with Hartley returning to E2 with his sister, but promising to go back and forth across the breach - taking turns with Cisco - because they're dating now. Hartley can't move to E1 - he doesn't want to take over the life of his E1 counterpart when that Hartley is still alive and a wanted criminal. And Cisco can't exactly live on E2 for the same reasons concerning Reverb.

The real Jay's speed has been badly depleted by Zoom's repeated, failed attempts to steal that speed on his own. But Hartley and Caitlin think they can help him power back up eventually to be E2's Flash once more. In the mean time, Hartley thinks maybe the Pied Piper could be of use protecting the city... and he's starting to notice he might actually have something of a sonic scream going on too.

Kinda forgot about #fanficrecmonday with the holidays and other personal life stuff happening. But it's back!

For the 2023 inaugural #fanficrecmonday I'm going to my love of Iris West and Barry Allen from the Flash from the CW series. I absolutely fell in love with these characters from this show. But this one is slightly AU but I love their relationship. Because in every universe Barry and Iris are soul mates and meant to be. So please enjoy "Good Boys and Bow Ties" by gnimmish.

The rare fic that the universe blesses me to read that combines my favorite ships in one beautiful, heartfelt package of great writing with an awesome plot. I get both MattFoggy and SamBucky in the same fic!!! You have no idea how much I absolutely adore both these ships. They're both the heart of their respective titles in the MCU. WARNING: Fluff and a jealous harry.

A/N: So I'm back again with my new fic, I hope you all like it.

Cisco walk to the cortex while holding a cup of coffee in his hands. He look at the side of the cortex and saw you and barry talking with each other. At the other side of the cortex is his grumpy friend who hate the world. At the other side of the lab is Caitline who is in the medbay arranging her medical equipment. He walk to harry and sit at the chair next to him silently. Afraid of disturbing this grumpy man.

Harry has been solving this equation on the white board for almost an hour now while rolling his eyes everytime he heard you laughing at every stupid joke of that young speedster told you.

It didn't funny at all he thought to himself

He inhale deeply when suddenly he saw Cisco sitting to his chair. He look at the young scientist and quickly grab the coffee in his hand and sip all of it without asking permission to the young scientist.

" What the heck !?! Why did you do that " Cisco exclaim while looking at the scientist

" It''s mine " Cisco said while grabbing now his empty cup of coffee in Harry'a hand.

" I need it " Harry only response while glancing at your direction and look back to his white board quickly.

" Why won't you just admit you love her? " Cisco said while looking at the grumpy Scientist with a smirk on his lips

" I don't love (Y/N) " Harry exlaim while looking at the young scientist with a deadly stare.

" Oky.... " Cisco said while wiggling his eyebrow and form his lips into a smirk while leaning his head.

Harry swallow thickly before looking back at his work and pretend like he didn't heard it.

You wave at him while inhale deeply and glace at Cisco and Harry's direction and saw that there talking with each other. You walk to them while wearing thus beautiful smile of yours while popping in front of them.

" What are you both talking to? " You said while smiling sweetly to them

Harry snap his head when he hear your voice.

" Nothing " Harry said while giving you his fake smile

"Nothing?" You ask him with a confusion look forming in your face.

Cisco only smile at you "Well he like yo- " he didn't finish his sentence before Harry's hand shut him up.

"what's the problem? " You ask the both of them.

I'm going to breach your dead body in different earth if you tell her Harry whisper to the young scientist ear.

You furrow your eyebrows when suddenly you saw that harry whisper something at the young scientist and saw that he's face quickly change because of it.

" Hey Cisco, are you ok? " You ask him

Harry quickly snap at your voice and quickly put his one arms around Cisco's shoulder.

" He's fine " He said with a smile

Ooh well tbh, I hc that E2 Westallen actually have the twins, Dawn and Don! Same actors ofc (I love Jessica Parker Kennedy and Jordan Fisher as Westallen’s kids so very much), but different names, and twins rather than siblings with an age difference. Doppelgängers of E-Prime Bart & Nora, in fact

They’re a bit of a handful, and Iris is the first to jokingly compare them to “little tornados”. The name sticks, becoming one of their endearments for the twins (who then call themselves the “Tornado Twins” later). Their surname is also, ofc, “West-Allen”

Dawn is ofc the more rational, thoughtful one, while Don is the more impulsive one. More than once, Dawn rolls her eyes at her “whirlwind brother” (and very pointedly ignores her own reckless actions at times…but worry not, Don’s her twin brother and thus makes it a point to tease her right back)

Dawn opts to go into journalism, surprising everyone (since ofc Iris is a police officer on this Earth, not a journalist). Don takes after his dad but pursues research instead of becoming a CSI

They cross the multiversal barrier…sort of by accident 😂 I don’t remember if the Cosmic Treadmill is capable of that, but if not, something else happens to catapult them onto Earth-Prime. They meet their other-Earth parents…and doppelgängers, who are strangely not twins and also named Nora and Bart (they tease the latter for his name, and Bart ofc takes it in stride). This leads eventually to E2 Westallen coming to Earth-Prime too, and it’s a joyous reunion 🥰 they didn’t know that the people on E2 were reborn with memories intact, so it’s a welcome surprise

Bart&Nora and the Tornado Twins, naturally, are fast friends after that day. It doesn’t take them long to figure out a way to keep in touch and visit (with a little help from their Uncle Cisco) 🥰

2.) Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

KillerVibe, aka Cisco/Caitlin. I do get why it's a popular ship for those two, but I just can't. Their platonic love for each other is so lovely and I think I happened upon them right as I was feeling a bit burnt out on the 'men and women can't be just friends' trope. So these two being bffs and never a hint of anything else no matter how much they clearly loved each other?

Beautiful. Why would I want anything else for them?

Colette/Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia (which was just re-released on the latest consoles, if you haven't played it before and are looking for a new game to play... pick this game up, it's so good!!!!) - it's not enough to turn me off a fic for there to be Colette/Lloyd going on but I just... read them as having a sibling relationship. There's nothing really romantic about their interactions - honestly the only person who really says anything shippy about them is Genis. And Lloyd sounds like an exasperated older brother telling Genis to shut it when he does. Like... Colette is in many ways Lloyd's person - he does love her and he pays closer attention to her than the others do because he knows she's got a bad habit of not admitting when something is wrong. I just don't read what's there as romantic.

7.) Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

Olicity. Oliver and Felicity had some really cute ship teasing going on in the early seasons. But when they actually acted on it... I can't really say they brought out the best in each other. Felicity struggled to trust Oliver but would paper over that with complaints about Oliver doing the same to her. But Oliver's issues were, at least, born out of ptsd and a lack of mental health self care. With Felicity's character, it just seemed like the writers were Flanderizing her to some degree and her character suffered a lot. Most irritatingly, Oliver grew further away from his comic book self instead of closer as was initially promised. I think their lowest point was hijacking the Westallen wedding, where Felicity made someone else's big day about her and Oliver just... went with it. But she also made a scene at the rehearsal when she'd thought Oliver was re-proposing to her and he wasn't. It was very uncomfortable to watch.

They were a lot better at dealing with other people without each other, but... *waves hands in a resigned fashion* together they were just kind of obnoxious in the end.

14.) Unpopular opinion about your fandom?

I guess that depends on the part of the fandom.

Eobard Thawne was massively mishandled post S2. He should have remained a posthumus character. All his interactions with Barry's future should have been in Eobard's past. Either with Barry traveling to the past to interact with EoWells or Mattobard showing up from points in his timeline that predated killing Nora Allen. S2 set that up really nicely, but unfortunately there was no follow through and they went in a different direction.

We'll never know for certain that Iris chose Barry because she was truly in love with him and not because everyone was saying it was her destiny. Even their E2 counterparts were married. If everyone tells you that something you aren't sure you want is the best thing for you ever and you'd be foolish to not do that thing then... if you do what you've been told by everyone in your life, is it actually because you want to? Or because you think you're supposed to? The show did, finally, sort of kind of not really acknowledge this. But... S9 when they've been married since S4 was... not the time to do that.

In S3 Future Barry should have been the one with the facial scars and Savitar with the ridiculous Emo!hair.

I... actually really enjoy Zoom coming off S1 with all the parallels that Team Flash is so oblivious too. It's only because of Savitar (and not to forget the Rival and Trajectory) that I feel like the show got overloaded with too many evil speedsters in the first three seasons. There were five - that was about three too many. (That said, Zoom probably should have been the S3 villain with S2 centered on the Rogues. Give the team some breathing room after dealing with Eobard.)

23.) Unpopular character you love?

Eobard Thawne. I will complain about him being overused and misused all day if prompted, but there's a reason why I gravitate to him as a lot as the main villain in my own writing. S1 Eobard on the Flash in particular is just such a fascinating and compelling villain. And Matt's take on him over in S2 of Legends is really great. His exasperation with his co-villains makes them all such fun.

Julian Albert. He was very unlucky in love, falling for Caitlin who clearly just... was not interested in return. And very unfortunate to have whatever was going on with Savitar and 'Alchemy'. But he gave Barry a much needed coworker at the CCPD. (Barry cannot be the only CSI in the entire CCPD. He just. Cannot. But it certainly seems that way sometimes, doesn't it?) If they'd followed through with making the not-Caitlin-not-Frost character in S4 the way S3 seemed to clearly intend, then perhaps Julian might have become the new team medic? Alas, we just get a single brief mention of him in S4 and not even a proper send off for him.

27.) Least shippable character?

Hmmm... Bart since I just haven't seen enough episodes with him to get a good read for his personality at all. And since most of the characters I have seen him interact with are either his parents, his grandparents, his honorary grandfather (Jay Garrick), or members of Team Flash who are presumably honorary aunts and uncles... who would I even ship him with? Certainly not Godspeed.

Sherlock and Joan from Elementary both read as different identities under the arospec umbrella that while I ship them as a QPR together, shipping either of them romantically with anyone - including each other - just feels like it'd make them out of character. They say they love each other in canon without it being automatically romantic. (big deal to me!!!!) So they're equally least shippable to me on that show. And it bewilders me that people do ship them romantically. (Did we not watch the same show? Did people not see how aro they are and how their friendship defies amatonormativity? *heavy sigh*)
