Added subtitles to the "pilot episode" that Yusuke Murata uploaded of his anime project, Zaiyuki. He apparently is starting his own animation studio, and that kicks ass
Originally posted in 7 pieces on twitter, compiled and set to music by Takumi no Sekai. Subtitles/translation by me.

mistborn / twoa spoilers
vins first time using duralumin, brandon wrote this so freaking funnily ; " A sudden force smashed against her. It was so powerful , she was certain that only an equally powerful flash of pewter held her body together. She blasted away from the keep, hurtling through the sky as if tossed by some giant invisible god. " - the well of ascension , page 108 goodbye vin! o/

I found I defaulted to a very specific body type in regards to drawing women. So, to better differentiate the designs of my main female OCs, I sat down for the past two weeks and rigorously hash out their anatomy and proportions. Especially since all three of them are rather fit and physically active.
Left to right: Kit (Bloodborne/Mistborn), Suzie (Mistborn), Solace (Cyberpunk Mistborn)
#artists on tumblr#art#oc#original character#oc art#character design#mistborn oc#cosmere oc#my art#uinferno art#uinferno#i always feel weird tagging oc's in general fandom tags because i'm 99% sure nobody wants to see that so I often don't#Kit's setting is basically bloodborne with mistborn's magic system. it's still technically scadrial.#fun fact about kit: she used hemalurgy exactly once. that was an evening for her#Suzie is just from mistborn era 2 there's no weird twist. She lives in the roughs and has no powers.#Solace is a part of my Cyberpunk Mistborn AU aka ''mistborn 500'' She's a Thug spiked with her fiance's duralumin.#if you zoom in on her left pec you can faintly see it. that's why there's a bunch of scarring.

do you reckon marsh is a savant in any of his metals? like he’s been around so long constantly burning stuff but he probably is?? do you think cause of the savantism his iron and steel would be strong enough to affect metals inside someone else’s body?
Bronze. It was his metal before everything and I can just see him burning it constantly to hang on to that identity.
The rest... My understanding of allomantic savantism is that you have to burn it constantly and it can screw you up a bit. Marsh has had a ridiculous amount of time to practice so he's going to be equally ridiculously good at whichever metals he wants to be. I'm not sure that makes him a savant? I think you could get really good at using Tin, for example, without ending up like Spook in HoA. This might be a case of splitting hairs though. There could come a point where if you've had enough time to practice your abilities are indistinguishable from savantism.
He could be a savant with iron/steel though, depending. He's certainly good with them. But I mean his sight might mean burning steel/iron is redundant to find metals, so he might not burn either until he actually needs to push/pull. Oh wait, possibly also copper, if he wants to go unnoticed. Could easily be burning that all the time.
Hmmmm. Would Savantism let him affect metals in someone's body? I... don't think so? I think that's basic strength of the power to start with, not savantism or even practice. But I could be way off.
#mistborn#asks#marsh#don't know what bronze savantism would look like mind you#but I expect marsh would have it#If marsh has double steel spikes and duralumin he might be able to affect metals in someone's body anyways#i don't know where the cut off is there

YOU'RE SO RIGHT AND I FEEL SO STUPID BCS I LEGIT NAMED MY POKEMON DURALUMIN AFTER HER BEAR
(However the air conditioning sub plot is a joke far too funny for me to spoil, people gotta read it themselves for that bit.)
Okay, honest question, who is Yotsuba?
OH HO HO ANON I AM ALL TOO HAPPY TO EXPLAIN :3
Yotsuba is a character from the greatest manga ever made, Yotsuba&!(or Yotsuba to! it translates weird, most fans just call it Yotsuba) which is a comedy slice-of-life manga about Yotsuba Koiwai, a five year old girl, and her very strange yet wholesome family and friends!
It's from the same mangaka who gave us Azumanga Daioh, though while that manga is told in a four-panel comic style and doesn't really have much of an overarching plot, Youtsuba is done in a traditional manga style and despite also being very episodic there is a bit of a throughline surrounding Youtsuba getting settled into the neighborhood she just moved to, growing up, and eventually, in the later chapters, getting ready to go to school for the first time. Also, there are storylines that take place over multiple chapters as well! Despite the fact that the manga has been releasing since 2003, the chapters are pretty sporadic and the comic has only really covered about one year of the character's lives, but it never really feels slow or aimless. It feels almost...timeless? I guess. It's really nice.
Anyway, the manga is legit one of the most wholesome, funny, heartwarming things I have ever read. Kiyohiko Azuma is a fucking MASTER of comedy(you may have seen screencaps from a Sailor Moon fan comic he made going around on tumblr in which Jupiter accidentally sends Venus shooting across a pool that made me laugh so hard I cried) and he balances it well with lots of slow moments with GORGEOUS artwork where you can really take in the scenery and all of it is seeped in a wonderful nostalgia for childhood that legit makes me super emotional.
I don't think the manga has ever really taken off in terms of popularity, at least not to the degree that it deserves imo, which is likely in part due to the creator being firm about it never getting an anime adaptation and the sporadic release schedule, but it's far from unknown. There's been an official(I think??) score released and plenty of figurines and merch. It's also birthed a lot of memes, and it def has the same issue as One Piece where if you read it and love it you will turn into a walking billboard and try to drag your friends and family in with you. It's just THAT good!
You may have seen art of or people cosplaying Danbo, a "robot" made of old cardboard boxes that Yotsuba adores (Totally a real robot btw, def doesn't have a middle schooler shoved inside there, that would be silly wdym /s)
And this pose from the back of one of the manga volumes featuring Yotsuba, her father, and their extremely tall friend Jumbo has been redrawn with other characters like 500000 billion times
And you've also probably seen this going around tumblr before (that's Fūka she's my favorite cringe fail daughter I would literally die for her).
Also, I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention Yanda, who is a friend of Yotsuba's dad and also Yotsuba's nemesis. He's a loser who constantly gets dunked on by a toddler it's fucking hilarious.
But yeah it really is just like, a manga that feels like a hug, or a warm blanket or something, it's so comforting and funny and fantastic, I find myself re-reading it any time life gets to be too hard just bcs it's that good at distracting me and reminding me that live is worth living.
And also given that it's literally my favorite manga, I saved up a bunch of screencaps to use as reaction images after a read one time, and thus now it's my own little joke that if you send me anon hate I'm just gonna send you back a picture of this cutie
Bcs come on how can you be angry when you're looking at this???
Anyway here's some screencaps of the main supporting cast bcs I love all of them so much <3
YOU WILL READ YOTSUBA I AM NO LONGER ASKING
#shoulda gone with my teddiursa tbh but I already had a name for her#I love you Duralumin <3 <3#long post

how to turn a bird into god using cosmere mechanics
so let's say you had two full mistborn/feruchemist/awakeners/forgers. we'll call them Person A and Person B. Person A and Person B begin to burn nicrosil and duralumin over and over again (assume that they have infinite metals) targeting each other. this builds up an extremely fast chain reaction of increasing allomantic levels (nicrosil increases the power of the other person's metals, duralumin buffs nicrosil). they then ingest purified dor and store the investiture in their nicrosil metalminds. then, they begin compounding nicrosil, amplified to ridiculous amounts by the nicrosil-duralumin chaining they did previously. they now have unlimited amounts of investiture derived from purified dor (this is known as the Infinite Investiture Glitch). Person A worldhops to First of the Sun and goes to Patji's Eye. Using their unlimited investiture, they then Forge a maggot to have consumed the entire perpendicularity, inheriting all its investiture. Here's where the awakening comes in. Person A repeats the Infinite Investiture Glitch for their own breaths, achieving every heightening and gaining unlimited breaths. then, kill the maggot. does it lose the investiture from the perpendicularity? no. then Person A uses the unlimited breaths to Awaken the maggot and make it sentient. Then they Forge the maggot, using their unlimited investiture, into a full mistborn and feruchemist. they Command the maggot to preform the Infinite Investiture Glitch on the investiture derived from the perpendicularity they consumed. they should now obtain-shard level investiture. then, the maggot is fed to an aviar. if the symbiosis applies correctly, the bird should ascend to shardhood. the bird god has arrived. bow down to the bird god

Questioner: If a Leecher who also could burn duralumin touched a normal person and then burned both metals at the same time, how bad is that gonna be for you?
Brandon Sanderson: Let me ask you this. What do you think's gonna happen?
Questioner: There is a very short-term, like, "where is my soul" effect? It may or may not be permanent?
Brandon Sanderson: I'm gonna RAFO this one for now, because I'm planning to do some of this in the future. But I'll RAFO it for now. I think you're theorizing in the right direction. Duralumin lets some weird things happen, as you will see in the books.

actually I think I would love an animated adaptation over a live action one
when you want your favorite books to get adapted into movies or series so you can actually see your beloved characters brought to life but your favorite books getting an adaptation is your worst nightmare because tv and movie execs ruin everything they touch but you want to see the magic but--
#vin's duralumin powered steel push would be so cool animated#a team like atla's would be the only one to do tpw justice

Fics will have you googling how heavy the heaviest known sword is (zweihander at 8lb) but the number is too low to make for a decent comparison for what you need (koloss sword,) so you start looking at a metal weight calculator (have a source if you're interested). That in turn makes you start googling "how tall is vin" (somewhere around 5 feet 2-4 inches) and "how big is Vin's koloss sword" which doesn't seem to have a definitive answer, but official artwork makes the blade look to be about 5 foot 6. Add in the handle and pommel and it looks to be around 7 feet total, give-or-take.
So, if the blade is 5.5 feet long and 1.5 foot wide and 1/2 inch thick, that comes out to about 76kg or 167lb for a slab of iron.
Handle is, let's say, 1.25 feet and 1.5 inch thick; so that's 3.4kg / 7.5lb
Pommel: 5 inches long, 2.5 inch thick. That's 3kg/6.6lb.
167 + 7.5 + 6.6 = 181.1 Pounds.
That’s the "average weight for an American Male" (emphasis on those quote marks) so I’d like to say Vin was essentially swinging around a sword the same weight as, say, Kelsier. (Beautiful imagery if I do say so myself. Does anyone want to draw Vin swinging KelSword? Since I’m already overwhelmed with ideas lmao.)
With this information it would be easy to say a Zweihander’s 8 pounds is cute in comparison, but in all fairness, anyone who wields a Zweihander doesn’t have the benefit of Pewter or Duralumin and is raw dogging fatigue and muscle strain, in addition to armor. A light sword is a Good Sword in that case.
None of this has any point or purpose, I'm just rambling and sharing my journey to anyone interested in theoretical information lmao. ✌️
